Blog Chat Etiquette

These are some simple guidelines to make the blog chat room a positive, enjoyable and enlightening experience for everyone. Please note that as this is a chat room, we chat! Do not flood the chat room, or post without interacting with others.

EXPAND
Be friendly

Remember that these are real people you are chatting with. They may have different opinions to you and come from different cultures. Treat them as you would face to face, and respect their opinions, and they will treat you the same.

Be Patient

Give the room a chance to answer you. Patience is a virtue. And if after awhile, people don't respond, perhaps they don't know the answer or they did not see your question. Do ask again or address someone directly. Do not be offended if people do not or are unable to respond to you.

Be Relevant

This is the blog of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. Please respect this space. We request that all participants here are respectful of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche and his organisation, Kechara.

Be polite

Avoid the use of language or attitudes which may be offensive to others. If someone is disrespectful to you, ignore them instead of arguing with them.

Please be advised that anyone who contravenes these guidelines may be banned from the chatroom. Banning is at the complete discretion of the administrator of this blog. Should anyone wish to make an appeal or complaint about the behaviour of someone in the chatroom, please copy paste the relevant chat in an email to us at [email protected] and state the date and time of the respective conversation.

Please let this be a conducive space for discussions, both light and profound.

    OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SOHA

Glad to know that scientists have recently discovered that the ozone hole is starting to heal.Is a great encouragement for us to keep up the good work. It would take some time for fixing other environment problems with every one of us and international cooperation. Thats the reason many devoted Buddhists live their lives with discipline and awareness, cultivating the attitude of doing no harm to the environment. In the Buddhist teachings, every action we take creates a chain of reactions as said by Rinpoche. That is very true.Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article.

Nowadays, cancer is very common word to many people yet not many people know about the spiritual practices which might heal the cancer patient and some are fully recovered. In Buddhism, we believe on karma which is part of cause to cancer or diseases. Some Cancer patient are very panic and pessimistic, this will not heal cancer patient but will make them worst.
By doing spiritual practice and undergo medical treatment in the same time,it will purify our bad karma and this will also help the cancer patient to be optimistic and always in positive mind.
Thanks Rinpoche for sharing this informative write up.This really help many people to be optimistic when cancer attack them.

In Buddhism, all people are encouraged to love all living beings including the animals. The Buddha teachings told us that is not right for us to take away the life of others. We cannot deny that animals also have fear and pain as do human beings. Therefore, it is wrong to take away their lives. Besides, we should more proactive to protect the animals whenever we can.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this interesting topic which showed one way of protecting the birds to get hurt from the transparent windows.

Sad ,,,very sad knowing the secrets of Ukraine’s shameful holocaust.
My tears flows freely after looking at those horrible sad pictures even though it happen many years ago.Could not imagine how those who have witnessed that holocaust gone through.Just because of differences of religion and faith between them they have suffered, executed, tortured and so forth.French Catholic priest, Father Patrick Desbois, uncovered the secrets for all to see and understand of Ukraine’s holocaust’.Its a good for us and the rest of the world to know and told to younger generation. How Dorje Shugden practitioners are treated in Tibet and outside of Tibet was similar to this holocaust in Ukraine.Dorje Shugden practitioners due to the ban and discrimination against them but nothing compared to the innocent Jewish people.
May all the conflicts will end soon so as all do live harmonious and peaceful .
Thanks Rinpoche for sharing this touching article.

Amazing townships which I never thought it exist. The places are all so beautiful.

For Monsanto, Portugal although the landscape is all around the big rocks but the people can still build around it with beautiful design. I think human are adaptable as long as they wish too live there.

I personally prefer the Giethoorn Netherlands. So beautiful, clean environment and living condition.

The long standing relationship between Dalai Lama and Dorje Shugden is not without conflicts. The enmity started since the time of the 5th Dalai Lama, mainly because Dalai Lama’s attendants were jealous of the highly attained Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen and felt assured that he will threatened the new position as the King of Tibet of Dalai Lama. Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was the last incarnation of Dorje Shugden, as he entered clear light as a result of being murdered by Dalai Lama’s attendants, he arose as Dorje Shugden. As a result of deep regret for what his attendants had done, the Dalai Lama built Trode Khangsar Chapel as an attribution to Dorje Shugden. It is the proof that Dorje Shugden is an enlightened protector. Even since the enthronement of Dorje Shugden in Trode Khangsar Chapel, it had borne witness to recognitions by the Qing Emperor and His Holiness the 11th Dalai Lama. Thank you very much for this article. Thank you for this article, Rinpoche.

It is fascinating to read about the story of Dalai Lama especially His Holiness’ 5th reincarnation. 1642 marked a significant year for the 5th Dalai Lama was installed as the king of Tibet and it changed history forever. 1649 is the year when the famous Potala palace was completed and it is still standing tall today. It is notable that the 5th Dalai Lama visited Beijing in the year 1652 at the beginning of the Qing dynasty. During the early years that the 5th Dalai Lama was in power, his attendants were jealous of the renowned Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen and assassinated him in the year 1656. Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen arose as the Dharma Protector in the form of Dorje Shugden. Some years later, in 1662, Panchen Lama entered clear light.

Birds is our feathery friends who co-exist in our environment that we pay so little attention to them. We often forget they have feelings like us and definitely suffer from pain, cold and hunger just like us. As we pay so little attention to them as our neighbors, our actions inevitably create causes for them to suffer. Even though birds spread their wings and fly high, our concrete jungle is a trap for them and they get suffer the hurt that we created. Hence, it is our responsibility to be more mindful and since we can reverse the harm done, we should at least find remedy to lessen the possibility for them to get hurt. Thank you very much Rinpoche for this article as a reminder for us to be mindful towards animals living in our environment.

Thank you very much Rinpoche and team for the colorful and artistic memes giving us bite size teachings on the benefits of Dorje Shugden. It is easy for us to share with friends and the world too. The additional info shared by Rinpoche in the comments column on Trode Khangsar Chapel is an important message. The chapel is a significant building attributed to Dorje Shugden by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama, as the proof that Dorje Shugden is an enlightened protector. It is also a way His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama wanted to show the world that his earlier view that Dorje Shugden is an evil spirit had been mistaken. Even since the enthronement of Dorje Shugden in Trode Khangsar Chapel, it had borne witness to recognitions by the Qing Emperor and His Holiness the 11th Dalai Lama. Thank you very much for this article.

    Dear friends around the world,

This is a very good documentary in which you can learn about the only religion given to the world by UK and how it is growing.

Remember, knowing more and being exposed to more examples of what others went through for their rights will help us to give parallel examples to bring the ban down.

The Wiccans were not accepted and considered a cult but now recognized as established religions in the UK and USA. The same will happen for Dorje Shugden practitioners. We don’t have to convince everyone but we do need to press forward to make sure we have equal rights and no discrimination against us because of our chosen faith. TR

May more people are able to practise Dorje Shugden and that the discrimination on the practitioners be stop.

This article has many wonderful advices to all who are in a relationship, those wanting to be in a relationship or already in a relationship. Human are a very complex species, they can jump and switch from being a nice person and a devil next.
It is rather puzzling on why and what makes us to be like that, basically if we look into this further we may come to a conclusion that we inherited these characters from both of our parents. I would agree to a certain degree that we may have some traits in our system from them but most of it that molded us to be what we are today stems from very many angles.
Educations, environments, media exposure coupled with the company that we associated and moved around with are the main players that mold us. This character that we outwardly displayed are the result of having unknowingly and unconsciously woven a multi-faceted and intricate web that trap many of us and however hard we tried to spring out of it we find difficulty in doing so and are always revolving around it. A similar analogy would be like being addicted to drugs. We are so engrossed to become what we want to be and show to the world but in the process lost our true self.
I was a rogue during my growing up years, having no father to provide all the love, guidance and to inspire me to become a responsible adult my character was molded by society and the result was I became very arrogant and developed many other traits that my relatives, friends, associates, colleagues and girlfriends find it hard to accept.
Through all the trial and tribulations of my life it was Buddhism during the latter part that changed me and I am very thankful that Buddhism was the anchor that grounded me and moved me to a whole new level and have me began a new chapter of my life.
Be what you are and not what you are not.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

All Dorje Shugden prophesizes will come to pass,
Those who generate refuge and merits will trust,
By trusting one will see the good results of his pronouncements,
By seeing the good results, one\'s path becomes more clear,
The path of practice, purification and siddhic results,
This would eliminate the samsara within our minds.

We must loyal to our guru. How to be loyal? To always do the teachings and practice he gave us and to conquer our laziness. We must make our gurus more important than our ego. So it is important to always let our guru win and not our ego. If our ego wins, many will suffer and we will suffer. If our guru wins, temporarily we suffer, but long term we will be happy and many around us will be happy. You see, the guru is always on the look out to give us methods and teachings that we can engage in to bring us happiness. The biggest happiness is overcoming our ego and it\'s traces and the guru always directly and indirectly focuses on that. Our guru will always love and help us, but we must meet our guru half way too. Tsem Rinpoche

This is the road that leads to my house in the mountains. I have a small house and a lake nearby the house and I live there on vegan foods with my pets-Mumu loves running around the meadows. I have a large outdoor Vajra Yogini statue made of stone and we make offerings of juniper leaves burned to her daily as sang. I love living in the mountains away from the senseless repeating of actions in urban life. Urban life with its various pollutions do not connect us to who we are inside. I love this walking path to my retreat home where I will live for the rest of my life and on the way home, I pluck some flowers for my shrine to offer to the Buddha...thank you for allowing me to live here. The amount of suffering, fear and pain they have to experience should be experienced by no one whether animal or human. It is heartbreaking to continuously see the sufferings animals endure for our \'pleasures\'. I do feel helpless, but helpless or not, we must create more awareness tirelessly. With awareness, their suffering can eventually be reduced. The ones who are slaughtered, it\'s too late. We can only shed tears but we have to still be concerned about future slaughter of animals and try to prevent. Helping and being kind to animals is not spiritual, strange or unnatural, but pure empathy of understanding their pain in that no sentient beings would want to suffer. Tsem Rinpoche

Dog Abandoned - Why Don't You Love Me Anymore?
Dear friends around the world, I have come across so many stories of suffering, pain and abandonment but sometimes one stands out stronger than the rest. What happened to this little boy doggie is heartbreaking. I am re-posting here to create awareness and to bring attention to the heroes that help animals and create awareness to their suffering. The purpose of creating awareness is to let people know how much suffering animals go through and to not contribute towards this. To help lessen the suffering. Giving pain to any animal never brings good luck or happiness to anyone. Never harm animals and never eat them. Tsem Rinpoche Article link: http://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/current-affairs/why-dont-you-love-me-anymore.html *********************************** Dear mom and dad. They found me inside the dumpster you toss me in around 8 in the night. I was crying for u begging for u to come take me back. What have I done wrong. I feel pain all over my body. My joints ached, the hole in my buttocks hurt, I cannot see my behind. I try to get up but I can’t. I cry and cry until a man who was dumping his garbage heard me. He got the shock of his life finding me in the pile of rubbish. It was wet and smelly here. The worms are eating me inside out. Again I keep thinking, what have I done wrong. The vet said my condition is pretty bad. My old body won’t be able to handle it for long. I was full of lice, fleas and ticks. I had blood parasite too. My white blood count is too high. I am an old boy, in pain and suffering. After lengthy tests, they finally decide to let me go. I understand. I am not angry. I am just sad you are not with me. They gave me a nice meal, my last supper. It reminds me of you when I was young. You used to love me and handfed me when I was a baby. People cry around me. They held my hand as I closed my eyes. And then I finally let go and my heart beat the last. Dear mom and dad. I am now in heaven. For whatever I did wrong to you, I hope you won’t do to another dog what you did to me. I will always love you. Until we meet again. Remarks: Many thanks to Century Animal Medical Centre (Putatan) Dr Adit and Frankie for your help, for the love to animals you waited for us to help him even you were was closing. Thank you again for your compassion towards the less fortunate animals and rest in peace doggy.

tsering dolker asked: Thukjey che, The answer was impressive but as far as i have read and know ( though very less) menstruation is not considered something as''unclean"' .It is regarded just as a monthly discharge of impurities from the body

tsering dolker asked: Chaktsal Rinpochee khen it is said that buddhism believes in gender equality then why aren't we allowed to enter in certain temples?
pastor answered: Dear Tsering Dolker, Thank you for your question. You have asked a very good question. The Buddhas are enlightened beings therefore they have equanimity for all sentient beings including men and women. However, as you have said, some temples do not allow women to enter. This is most likely due to the fact that one or more of the deities that have shrines in the temple are not enlightened beings. For example there may be a temple to a certain god. This god could have a consort such as a goddess or unenlightened dakini. Since unenlightened beings are still subject to emotions, this consort may become jealous or angry at seeing another women in the temple, therefore cause the woman harm. For this reason, women may not be allowed to enter the temple. On the other hand there are some people who believe that during a woman’s monthly cycle, she become ritually ‘unclean’ due to her bodily processes. At this time women may not be allowed to enter certain temples as they are ‘unclean’. There are others that believe that during a woman’s monthly cycle, since there are major changes happening in the body, this effects the energy or ‘winds’ in their bodies. At this point they are susceptible to outside energies, and being inside a temple where there is a powerful being, this may have a negative effect on them. This is why they are sometimes not allowed inside. However the examples I have given above are for temples in which there are unenlightened deities. Most Tibetan Buddhist temples will not include these unenlightened deities such as these. For example in Kechara, since we pray to the enlightened Buddhas, women can enter all our temples. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Harold Musetescu asked: What can you tell be about "Green Vajrapani"? Thank you
pastor answered: Dear Harold Musetescu, Thank you for your question. There are many forms of Vajrapani. Could you provide me with more information as to the specific form of Vajrapani that you would like to know about? Personally, I have not come across a form of Green Vajrapani in my personal practice, therefore I cannot give you any more information. If you can provide me with the specific name of the deity you would like to know more about I may be able to find out. However, I do know of a green form of Vajrapani, who belongs to the mandala of the Kalachakra deity. In this form, Vajrapani is green, with three faces. These are green, red and white. He has six hands. In his right hands he holds a Vajra, curved flaying knife and axe. While in his left hands he holds a bell, a skull and head of Brahma. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Lunezia asked: Dear Pastor, what do you think about Rudolf Steiner and his works? Thank you and greetings from Italy
pastor answered: Dear Lunezia, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately I am not familiar with the works of Rudolf Steiner. Perhaps you could ask the question again, including the names of his works. Alternatively, you could summarise them here and I can give a Tibetan Buddhist view on them. Thank you.
