Thank you for the sharing, proud to have a greenest city in Asia. Of many Asian country I found Singapore has the quality of life, that will make it as the city caters to all tastes and price levels. For the very most reason because of the strict laws Singapore is quite possibly the safest city on Earth and frequently associated for the word “clean, green, efficient and safe”.

Even though it a small country, it has transformed into a place which values the nostalgia and memories of the land by adapting a modern way of thinking. I loved to visit Singapore during festivals just to admire the elegant decor and lightings.

I think due to their fast growing in all aspect, Singapore soon will be one of the best first-world cities and one of the most desirable city to live in.

Recently the Tibetan ‘government-in-exile’ known as the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) was called to session and Tenpa Yarphel, a notable Member of the Tibetan Parliament (MP) spoke up about the need for Tibetans to be united. Specifically, Tenpa Yarphel bravely addressed a very thorny issue that most Tibetan policy makers have sidestepped for over 20 years, and that is the Dorje Shugden unethical ban that, by now, everyone knows has been very damaging to the fragile Tibetan unity. It is really refreshing to see a Tibetan MP speaking confidently about the realities faced by the Tibetans in exile, with the intention of moving forward to a better future instead of being stuck in myriad divisive policies that have really harmed the Tibetan polity and harmony.

The 4th Zhabdrung Rinpoche of Bhutan and Dorje Shugden

A fiercely independent nation, Bhutan is notable for being one of the few Himalayan kingdoms to have maintained its sovereignty in spite of its geographical location. Sandwiched between the Asian giants of India and China, they have even shared a disputed border with the latter and yet, they have never been conquered by foreign forces. Some attribute Bhutan’s growth to the foresight and skilful diplomacy of its monarchy, while others believe it is due to Bhutan’s long-standing spiritual traditions and the Buddhist wisdom of its spiritual leaders.

The Promise – Tsem Rinpoche’s inspiring biography now in ebook format!

This would be one of many promises that Rinpoche has made and kept throughout his life and as Rinpoche’s students, we are very happy to present to you the 4th (and latest!) edition of Rinpoche’s pictorial biography, The Promise. This edition includes many more details about Rinpoche’s life, especially in reference to the enlightened Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden — such as how Rinpoche was first introduced to Dorje Shugden and how he received Dorje Shugden life entrustment (sogtae) from His Holiness Kyabje Zong Dorjechang.

On December 11, 2016 His Eminence Zava Damdin Rinpoche conferred Yamantaka initiation and Dorje Shugden sogtae (life entrustment). 10,000 ordained monks and lay people attended this auspicious occasion held at the Buyant Ukhaa Sports Complex in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

So, after the initiation, the practitioner is given a ‘heart’ crystal (lado) and a chakra (sogkhor) which were consecrated during the sogtae ceremony. They are given as a blessing and reminder of the initiate’s commitments to Dorje Shugden, and also as a symbol of Dorje Shugden’s promise to protect them. And since this is an initiation, there are commitments associated with receiving the sogtae, just like how there would be for any other initiation into a deity’s practice.

Now 10,000 Mongolians will be protected by Dorje Shugden until they achieve enlightenment. Check out the wonderful images and videos at http://bit.ly/2OBPH4u

Even though I do not know Yee Ling personally, yet glad to know she had completed the 100,000 water bowl retreat. Water Bowl Offerings is a foundation basic practice in Vajrayana Buddhism . It teaches us generosity, helping us overcome stinginess. In Tibetan Buddhism , unique water offerings are probably the most common offering and accepted by the masters of the past. Its also a powerful practices to help increase our merits and cut down our miserliness.
May more people joining this powerful practice to complete their 100000 bowls of water offering as one of the preliminary practice.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

First time coming across this name water louse, not of I have known at all. The Water Louse scientific name is Asellus aquaticus related to wood lice. Well, it can be found in garden ponds, stagnant water pools and slow running streams. Reading this old post , give me new knowledge to learn more about it. I think I have seen before but not sure what it was call till I read this post. They can breed all year round, living among decaying roots and leaves. Some advice from this post, when buying fishes, we must check carefully for louse. Or else the rest of fish in our tank will be infected. Looks scary from what I see from the pictures……tinny lics. Shocking to know that sucks the fish’s blood leaving dark lesions on the fishes until death.
It’s incredible team works , removing the all the lice from 200 fishes which were bought from a careless seller in Cheras. Kudos to those Kecharians involved.
Thank you for this informative sharing.

    Dogs that forced to fight.

“Typically, before their first birthdays, puppies bred for fighting are placed in front of other dogs in order to test their aggression. At around 15 months, two prospective “fighters” are forced to participate in a “roll”—their first fight, which lasts about 10 minutes—followed by a second fight that lasts an hour. Survivors are chained again (sometimes with weighted logging chains) for a couple of months until they are ready for their first “show.” Breeders “train” dogs by forcing them to tread water in pools; run on a treadmill while a cat or another terrified animal, who may be someone’s stolen companion animal, is placed in a cage in front of the dog (to be caught and mauled to death as a reward afterward); and hang on with their jaws while dangling from a chain baited with meat. The dogs are likely injected with steroids, and some breeders go so far as to sharpen their dogs’ teeth, cut off their ears (in order to prevent another dog from latching on), and add roach poison to their food so that their fur might taste bad to other dogs.”

Thank you for sharing with us the biography of Lama Thupten Phurbu. It is not easy for us to learn about Dorje Shugden lama in Tibet as the information is not widely available on the internet. It is great to know that many high lamas in Tibet are also Dorje Shugden practitioners.

Dorje Shugden is an emanation of Buddha Manjushri, as a Dharma protector, he has the responsibility to protect and assist the Dharma protector, especially those who are very sincere. High lamas such as Pabongkha Rinpoche, Trijang Rinpoche, Zong Rinpoche, Tsem Rinpoche, Lama Yeshe, etc., all of them relied on Dorje Shugden. As a result, they were able to benefit so many people. Therefore, it is safe for us to rely on Dorje Shugden.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

Find one of the most beautiful temples in the world in Nara, Japan. It is the 1,267 year old Todai-ji temple that houses a 15 meter Buddha Vairocana statue who is a cosmic and timeless Buddha. Emperor Shomu who sponsored this beautiful temple eventually abdicated and ordained as a Buddhist monk. Very interesting history and story. One of the places everyone should visit- https://bit.ly/2VgsHhK

    2 yearss ago
What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
