Every time when watching ghost movie I always being scared by the sound and camera effect. What we bring trick from the movie is the effect and no one really contemplate the real scary part which is taking rebirth as a ghost or spirit. When we watch ghost movie we can see how hateful, angry and jealous the spirit can be. They keep doing the same thing and being what they are continuously. If you watch carefully, their life , would be scary or sympathy? Image if you are in their shoe, would enjoy always doing the same thing again and again and again until your karma in the spirit realm exhausted which can be very long time. And if the spirit continue to be angry and keep harming people, the spirit will keep collecting negative karma. Imagine how can this spirit get out from it realm?

Another view in seeing them instead of scary is sympathy. With their condition which will stay for a very long time in spirit realm, it’s another torturing for them. So we should develop a compassionate heart instead of scared.

The paranormal subject is always a very fascinating subject for me. It is very mysterious and mystical, no one can prove it but many people are talking about it. Ghosts, for example, is not something everyone has seen before but there are many accounts of encounters with ghosts, including video footage.

As Buddhists, we believe the existence of ghosts as ghosts are one of the beings in the six realms. When we hold anger, jealousy, and other negative emotions in us, there is a high chance we will take rebirth in the ghosts realm because negative energy attracts negative energy. If these negative emotions are making us so miserable now, can you imagine how miserable it will be when we take rebirth as ghosts? We have to wait for our negative karma to exhaust before we can take rebirth again.

Therefore, we need to learn to let go and not hold the grudge in us. We have to learn to be forgiving. If we have been hurt before, don’t inflict pains on others to take revenge, be kind always.

    Dear Rinpoche,
Amongst the stories, there are two stories that I’ve paid special attention to. One is where the Spirits Run in Family and the other (~my Top Pick) is the The Incubus by Lynn Davis.

For the Spirits that Run in the family, it’s not scary but it rather make me think that perhaps these spirits are really relatives and they will stick around for years to come, or even decades. The family members seem to be at ease with them hanging around. I feel sad for them actually as I know it’s due to attachment. The spirits will not be able to ‘free’ themselves for as long as they hang on to this feeling of wanting to stay. It’s a suffering for both human and the spirits. This is why they are ‘trapped’ in it.

The best of all is Lynn’ s case. I was like ‘ Oh my Buddha, ? don’t you wanna get out from there? Hello, are you insane?’ . I will definitely just pack up and go. I will not even wanna compromise living with these things, what’s more to defend the space that we think it’s ours. Maybe, they see us as intruders in their space! How to fight with them?

For all these cases, the first thought that came to my mind was,
    1. Chant Mantra.
    2. Visualise a white light that we are being protected by Dorje Shugden.
    3. Invite Buddha home and set up an altar.

How fortunate we are that we were taught on how to protect ourselves. Then, a sense of sadness pervades in me. They don’t know that they are being trapped and they could be in state until the karma for them to be there runs out. The best is showing them love and compassion. That will truly liberate them. But until I’ve gotten the gut to do it, it’s better to run than showing that we are brave. ?

P/s: Maybe can order puja for them. If we have attainments, it will be good if we can help them. However, it’s better to be cautious as some ghosts are quite tricky as mentioned by Rinpoche before.

Wow….after watching all the interesting videos, its scary and goose pimples arise. I have seen in videos and heard many ghost stories and many are quite believable. Incredible many unseen beings or spirits caught on camera .Could not believed what I saw too , looks scary some how when things such as furniture, doors moving by itself and there some one smoking in a gym. I definitely believes in ghosts or unseen beings but as long as we do not disturb them, we will be fine. There is a few occasion I could feel their existence , but I dare not look . I know some how I am protected with amulets and pendants as I am wearing it those days. Now I have my Dorje Shugden pendant and will dedicate my prayers to them , to take a better rebirth.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing all these interesting videos.

  5. KB Thapa on Jan 22, 2016 at 1:32 am

Dear Rinpoche. Thank you Rinpoche for the links.. All though I don’t like ghost but I do they’re real ghosts are real and as much as people would like to dismiss it and disregard it, they exist. Ghosts similarly to humans are very much alive but they do not show up in most cases. They stay invisible and hidden unless if they are called. I have not only heard real life ghost stories but have also witnessed few myself. Okay don’t talk about it

  6. Edward Ooi on Jun 11, 2014 at 3:50 am

Dear Rinpoche, I’ve watched all of the videos. They are really interesting to watch because they have real footage of the activities. I think the spirit in the fourth video in a naga. Because nagas always appear with the form of a snake or half human half snake. In the fifth video, I think the spirit who live there wants help from the couple. To the people who lived in a house like that, you are super brave. I would have pee or pooped in my pants and ran away from that place.

  7. Edward Ooi on May 20, 2014 at 8:48 pm

Dear Rinpoche, the first story wasn’t that scary. They were smart and they also didn’t want any disturbances so they left the house quickly. But the second one is seriously scary! They captured countless of spirits in the pictures and in the videos. Especially the part where the spirits were flying past, through Guy Winters. Now that is what scare me the most. And it is a house full of family member’s spirits. In the third story, although the spirit called Jim, may be a little bit scary because it is scary when something just start working out or smoking in a gym, but luckily Jim wasn’t there to harm people.

as I grew up for the longest I always thought that i was born before my uncle died because i remember when i was really little, i was standing in the door way and i remember looking waay up into a young mans face and smiling because i felt as though i knew him. after i grew up i always had that memory and then i started up a conversation with my mom about it and i told her mom i remember my uncle cause i remember seeing him in the door way looking down at me, and then she surprised me when she told me that my uncle died before i was even born! every time i think of it i get spooked out but i always feel safe in my house but at the same time im afraid to walk around because when i do i feel as though someone is watching me at all times. only in our Living room though.

  9. Li Kheng on Nov 4, 2010 at 12:30 am

I have postponed watching these ghost stories for many months. This evening, my 13 years old nieces coaxed me into watching it with them as they “love ghost stories on Rinpoche’s blog”! So, I guess it would be good to use this opportunity to face up to my fear.

This fear of the unknown and unfamiliar is a result of self-cherishing and self-grasping mind. In developing a break from fearing these other forms of beings, through the teachings, training and practice of Dharma, we are gradually taking one step away from our self-cherishing habits. So, I hope that I will have the courage to watch another ghost story soon :p

Another thing I noticed from the video as well as additional stories kindly shared by posters is the compassion and protection that Dharma (whether Buddhadharma, Christian Dharma etc.) generously offers us. The common method that freed the victims from the spirits is by taking refuge and requesting help from “God”. So, we are very fortunate to still have Dharma with us because it does not only offers us the chance to lead a peaceful and happy life but also provide us with the “tool” to battle our fear of the unknown and potentially harmful.

  10. Jan Rois Masferrer on Oct 25, 2010 at 10:14 pm

Dear Rimpoche, my name is Jan Rois and i am from Barcelona in Spain. I loved the videos and I believe the 2nd and 4th videos where the most real, especialy the one with the golden/pink ghosts. I am 21 years old and when i was a young kid i was always afraid of the dark. I think when i was very young (like 6 or so) i actually saw a ghost on my bedroom floor (i slept in a high bed). I remember this image of a dead woman laying on the floor dressed as a maid. But I am not sure if it was a ghost or my imagination. To the day im still afraid of the dark and being alone, i dont know why. What do you think about this? Also, im a gelupa buddhist practitioner and once, after meditating for an hour or so, i had a very weird experience. Firs i looked at the rediator in my room and suddenly in my mind i could see the whole heating system of the building. Then my cat came in my room and i could see (again with my mind) all his organs and bones, even his heart beating. Then i walked to my living room and saw my mom working and i could see (also again with my mind) a sort of aura around her, not of color, but of feeling. Like if i could sense all the stress around her and her negatvity and worry. Seeing this i decided to go to the street and see what happened. During this time, i wasnt really thinking actively but more like contemplating with a very quiet mind. On the street i saw the vibrations of all the people walking around me, some where excited, some happy, some angry, some sad, … After a little time, this state finished and i havent been able to go in it again. Also, sometimes when im walking and i look at people, in my mind i see images related to this people like where i think they are going or the people the know, or where they come from, sometimes the images flash so fast that i cant really make sense out of them but again, i dont know if it is my imagination playing triks on my mind. I surely dont see ghost or think im clarvoiant or clairaudient. But i wanted to ask you if this means something to you and if you could shed some light on the matter, you would be making me a BIG favor. Thanks for all your dharmma activity and for remaining in samsara again and again even though the door of nirvana must surely be open to you. It’s a great an pure sacrifice and i thank you with all my heart. Also, a lot of times, when im with other people, my emotions change in a very weird way and i cant control it. It feels like if i was channeling something. Again, please, i ask you for answers. BIG HUG, JAN ROIS (lobsang rigsang).

    Dear Rinpoche,
I am definitely who believes in ghosts. As someone who often experiences occurrences of someone pressing on me when I sleep, may I ask what is the best mantra to recite? I have chant “Om mani padme om” many times before it stops.

    • tsemtulku on Oct 20, 2010 at 3:13 am

      Dear Sue,

Obtain a picture of Dukkar Goddess or White Umbrella.
Recite her mantra with great confidence.
Then your problem will lessen then dissipate.
      OM SITA TA-PA-TREY HUNG PHET

May you be at peace, Tsem Tulku

    Video 2 gets spookier.
    Going to watch Video 3

  13. Girlie on Oct 18, 2010 at 8:57 am

I put off watching these videos for so long – I stay alone in my apartment and there is no way I am going to watch them by myself!!! Scared-lah.
Today I got enough courage to watch and finished Video 1 at 8.30am back in my family house – not so eerie in the morning cause it’s bright everywhere. And … other family members are asleep in their respective bedrooms whereas one has gone off to school, but I have my doggie Happy beside me – so there’s company.
I have never been in a situation where I personally encountered spirits/ghosts but some 30 years ago, when my godfather passed away, his family reminded each other to watch out for signs on the 7th day of his passing. The next morning, I heard that he came back for a visit, as some of them felt a different sensation.

  14. Lin Kechara on Oct 16, 2010 at 3:05 pm

Rinpoche, I never watched the videos till now cause Roland was away the last 3 weeks and I did not dare watch it alone at home. Many years ago when I was sleeping one night, I heard a voice calling my name. It sounded like my mum ( who was sleeping in another room) so i jumped out of bed and opened the door. There was nothing ,so i thought I was dreaming.I went back to bed. Before my head even touched the pillow, I heard it again! This time I was not opening no door!
At that period of time, nicholas was quite young, under 10 yrs old, and he would ask to sleep in my bed at night. He said he was scared. This happened for a few nights and it got me worried. I did not know what to do,so I went to a buddhist bookshop in Petaling Street, as I was not going to any temples and thought maybe I could ask the owner as to which temple i could go to. As i was relating my story, this stranger next to me was listening and then asked if he could help. He told us he lives in Seremban and when he woke up this morning he felt a compulsion to come to KL. He was wandering around Petaling Street, saw the bookshop and decided to browse. I then invited him home with me (which everyone said was stupid thing to do but I had no fear) My mum was with me then but the owner of the shop was worried and kept telling me he does not know this man. I then called Roland to meet me at home, and brought this man home. He walked around the house, told us to go to a coffeshop to chat, then told us the house needed cleansing but he needed permission first. He then said some prayers, told us he got the greenlight. We went home, he blessed some water and sprinkled it all over whilst chanting. After that he made me throw away a beautiful windchime I bought recently from Australia. he refused to accept even an angpow, just said he was sent to help, asked me to drop him off in Petaling Jaya. I have never seen him since, heard from him or even remember his face but am truly grateful because there were no more complaints of fear from the kids after that.
Have other stories too long to share here, but thank you rinpoche for sharing your videos…very hair raising huh?!

  15. Shin on Oct 16, 2010 at 4:34 am

Through the years, I have watched countless ghost movies, documentaries etc, but these videos are really spooky, especially if you watched it at 3am, hehe…

I agree with Shirley. Many people would think that we have no defense when it comes to spirits and ghosts as we cannot see them. Usually, we have a fear of what they will do to us, and also the concept that they have invaded our space.

However, if we see from another point of view- it is pitiful that they took rebirth in that kind of state and had to draw human’s attention through various means of disturbing us. Also, it rarely occurs to us that it was us that had invaded their space – they were there earlier/ before us.

Anyway, I am VERY GLAD that I have my pendants, chakras, statues etc with me here hehe… Oh well, I never said I wasn’t SCARED!

  16. patsy on Oct 12, 2010 at 11:34 pm

These beings do exist. They are everywhere. Some people have the karma to see or feel their presence and some dont.

I like The ghost of Green house and Ghost Jim in Gym. Even after death, these ghosts or spirits are still hanging around their property and their loved ones/family due to their attachment. Even though the house is torn down, these being are still hanging around and feeling sad that their house was destroyed.

Being a Buddhist, the only thing we can do is to dedicate and transfer our merits to them so that they can be released from their present existence and take a better rebirth.

  17. susan on Oct 12, 2010 at 1:37 am

    Dear Rinpoche
I love watching paranormal type movies. These are very well shot and document. I like them all because there’s always something to learn from in regards to how people react to spirits. If i have to pick, i find the gym story quite interesting. Knowing the spirit resembles her family members made her switched from being scared to feeling of being protected.

  18. Luize on Oct 11, 2010 at 10:33 pm

I’m convinced that we share the same space with all sort of spirits, not only what we may call ghosts. I just wonder(like Margaretlee), from buddhist perspective, what can lay people do to help ghosts? Besides dedicating merits, is there like some special prayer or ritual for that?

  19. Tenzin Losang on Oct 11, 2010 at 4:30 pm

The story of the family of ghosts at the big house that was demolished and the story of Jim the ghost in the gym are 2 stories that I find most fascinating and convincing. However, the others are quite interesting too.

  20. tenzin llhamo on Oct 11, 2010 at 2:33 pm

    Dearest Rinpoche,

Thank you for posting the videos above. The truth is that I was actually scared to watch it in the beginning. I had to push my chair way back in case I got too scared to continue. Anyway, I forced myself to and I finished all the 5 videos. Goose bumps all the way…

Mummy and aunties said that when I was young, I used to stare up in the ceiling, talk to my imaginary friends or ask them why is that person standing or floating in the air. I cant recall those incidents though. Sometimes I tell myself that I made it up just to scare them. I was very naughty and hyperactive when I was young but come to think of it, I am still like that. Haha.. Although Dharma have taught us to be compassionate, I am still scared when I think about what my reaction would be if I do accidentally come across them.
Thank you again Rinpoche for these videos.

    • tsemtulku on Oct 11, 2010 at 2:35 pm

Kids are usually more receptive to seeing spirits and remembering their previous lives…as they get older, they lose that ability unless they develop it. Thank you for the post and sharing. TR

  21. joey wong on Oct 11, 2010 at 11:08 am

    Dear Rinpoche,

I remember seeing semitransparent forms and sometimes arms and faces that are not connected to anything, that pop out from the wall or in dark spaces when i was younger. I would have problems sleeping every night and my parents or grandmother would have to sleep with me to help relief the fear. I remember feeling that there were invisible beings that were checking me out and it felt creepy. but it could just be my overactive imagination. It really did make me paranoid and it was to the point i could not be alone or else faces and limbs would pop out from the furniture and walls. I made a request to Tara when i was 8 (after reading in praise of Tara) to stop seeing such things, and in return i would practice the Dharma and they stopped.

When i was 17 and taking my examination, the classroom was facing the school field. And at the corner of the field was a clear shape of a man walking, however the man was like translucent liquid (ala hollow man). I thought it was my eyes needing a rest so i took another look. it was still there. On the 3rd look it disappeared. The dog that was sitting at the middle of the field ran back to the classroom compound, and then howled. That was when i know for sure it wasnt my imagination because another being perceived it too. I have no idea what it was (despite my knowledge in the paranormal) till this day and i dont think i want to. Because it wont serve any purpose and i cant help it even if i did.

These beings definitely do exist, and after reading the book about Chod by Zong Rinpoche, i really do aspire to benefit them in that way hopefully in this lifetime or the next. They deserve love too. I can only imagine the mental anguish they have to go through every day, being alone and being bitter and full of hatred. i have a small inkling of it due to my subconcious inclination to not trust others or open up as everyone else will have the potential to hurt but i am overturning that every single day, else how can i practice Dharma? If being in depression is so mentally painful, to be in it everyday without respite must be many times worse. I dont like to see beings in such a state but at the moment i can only work on developing the means. Only thing is speed…

I’d really rather start with people and animals first!

  22. Margaretlee on Oct 11, 2010 at 1:15 am

I am actually amazed how all these ghost footages were captured! It is very eye opening. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.

Personally, I did not have any encounter with ghosts per say, but I have taken photos with “orbes” being clearly shown.

I am a strong believer of the existence of the formless spirit realm. I have heard from many of my friends who had seen or experienced these formless beings.

The one that I’d like to share also happened in America. One of my best friends moved into a new house in Vermont, her son who was around 10 at that time was experiencing someone sitting next to him in bed at night and pushing him. My friend also heard guitar music playing on the top floor. One time she even called the police in because she was so afraid that someone had actually broken into her house.

She called in the “medium” to investigate and the medium told her that there was a small boy also around 11 years old. He was the son of the servant of the house and he had died in the house at the age of 11. This boy liked my girlfriend’s son, he liked to be with him especially when he was reading at night in bed. According to the medium, the servant’s son just wanted to read with my girlfriend’s son in bed as he liked books alot.

Another wierd incidence that was witnessed by many of her friends during a dinner party in the house was the cracking of a martini glass right in front of their eyes. The matini glass first made a crack sound and all of them were looking at it as the crack began to move around the entire circumference of the glass. they were left speechless. My girlfriend still kept that glass now:-)

After many repeated incidences, my girlfriend decided to sell the house. Just weeks before they moved out, the chanderlier in the main hall fell down and shattered into pieces.

These beings who stay in this spirit realm mainly becasue they could not move on to take another rebirth at the time of death due to their strong attachement to the place or to the people living there. Their energy lingered around.

Some people are more receptive to their existence and some are not.
And I always wonder what makes those people more able to see and feel these beings? And how can we help those beings move on?

  23. Shirley Maya Tan on Oct 10, 2010 at 9:42 pm

Probably not a good idea to watch at night if one is easily creeped out. But then again, in reality, they are everywhere – be it day or night. Things just seem to get a little more scary at night somehow.

When I was younger, I thought that human beings were kind of helpless against spirits. The spirits seemed to have more powers than we humans. They could do things to us and we can’t seem to defend ourselves against them. This perception came from an incident that happened to 2 of my cousins when they were small.

My uncle and aunt had just moved into a new house. As with family tradition, we always visit relatives who move into their new house. But this house was not just an ordinary house. It is almost vindictive. I know it sounds crazy to say this, but it is not a normal house.

Mattresses would be raised from the beds, while people are sleeping in it. Doors could be locked for no apparent reason, And the worst was when 2 of my cousins were taking a shower together in one of the toilets – the water suddenly became super hot, no one could even open the door to get to the screaming children inside the bathroom. Both of my cousins were no more than 12 at that time. They suffered very bad burns and are scarred to this day.

Can you imagine hearing the kids screaming inside and no one could get in. Two of my uncles were big and they could not even break the door down. After about what seemed like an eternity to us – the door suddenly opened and the whole toilet was filled with steam. The kids were so badly scalded.

It was not just freaky. It was horrifying to me. I held that memory for such a long time because my two cousins really suffered for weeks due to the burns.

The family later found out that the whole housing area was built on a cemetery where the Japanese had buried lots of people during world war 2. They moved out real quick after that.

From that day on, I felt that as humans we seem so powerless against spirits. And some spirits are just really mean. Exactly like how some humans are.

At that time, I really felt very helpless. I could not do anything to help my cousins. None of us could. We were all locked out while they were screaming away inside. This incident really scarred me too, I guess.

Anyways, out of the 5 videos – I found the Haunting of the Woods to be the most convincing. Perhaps it reminded me a lot of the movie, The Shining, one of the best horror movies of all time. But I reckon being stuck all alone in some woods would be the most scary experience ever.

  24. Andrew James Boon on Oct 10, 2010 at 4:49 pm

    Dearest Rinpoche,

This is actually quite incredible! The footage is indeed the clearest and I have ever seen… The home with the “heritage room” is incredible!!! Knowing the little I know about spirits and “attachments”, I can understand why that room has such active paranormal activity.

However, in part 5 of the video, there is a part of the footage I am not too sure of. The footage in the bedroom with regards to the “snake” like image, I am sure it was a particle of dust/hair (20 second and 40 second mark is clearest)…

All that aside I have always been a firm believer of spirits. I have had encounters with the paranormal as a young child. Though I have never seen, heard or felt anything, my younger sister by 6 years was sensitive to such energy. Thus my experiences have been more of a 3rd party observator.

I recall when she was just a mere baby, whenever we would be house hunting (my mother liked to move home a lot for some reason), my sister would be used like a radar! If she would cry as we pulled up in the driveway of a potential home, my mother would not even bother seeing the house and if my sister was laughing and smiley that was the house we would often move into if the inside was suitable. I never really thought anything about it till was a little older. To me that was the norm, in that if Annette (my sister) was happy my mother was happy.

Anyway as it turns out, my mother shared with us (my siblings and I) when we were a lot older, that my sister was sensitive to paranormal activity like apparently my mother was too.

Apparently my sister could “see and feel things” that we normally are not sensitive to. And only then did all the unexplained scenerios in my childhood made sense. Some of these were:

    1. As a baby, my sister would often stare at “nothing” a lot of the time and cry or smile. When she was at the age when she started talking, she would often say “who is that?” or “what is that?” pointing to once again nothing! At times she would cry uncontrollable and I never knew why. As a child I just thought she was a strange baby!!! I did not know any better… hehehe. But as she grew older and could verbalise more, it become a lot stranger!

    2. Once in the car during the night coming home from dinner out and we were at a set of traffic lights, she pointed to the window and asked my mother very innocently, who the man was staring at us from the window!!! We would all turn around and just stare into the darkness. There was often pin drop silence that ensued… hehehe. Funny thinking about it now…

Most of these encounters were harmless but as she got older (3-4yo)they got more frequent and less harder to ignore. Teachers in my sister’s preschool would often call my mum up in her school (my mother was a teacher then) to complain.

The cataclyst came when one night my sister (i think she was about 3 or 4 then) was somewhat “possessed”. This memory is still vague as perhaps I may have blanked it out of fear but I do recall it to be quite scary and unreal. Snippets from it were: I remember my sister swearing/cussing at my mother with a voice that was NOT hers and even spitting at my mother at some point when my mother was reciting the “Hail Mary” (I know now that my mother, who has very strong Christian faith, knew it for what it was and was trying to “dispell it”). My sister did finally calm down much to our relief. The next day was when it got interesting…

My mother, went to the temple (my mother has a strong spiritual incling and at that point in her life she made very natural connections/comparisons between the Kwan Yin – Avalokitesvara and Mother Mary who in Christian faith is someone of great compassion)to seek advice or guidance. She was told by the nuns of the Kwan Yin Temple that my sister’s shared the same auspicious birthdate as Kwan Yin and that somehow my sister had a “gift” (later my mother revealed she had prayed to Kwan Yin for a daughter for many years after 3 miscarriages). This gift enabled her to see beyond our realm and that when used for good will benefit many.

According to my mother, she had promptly begged the nuns to remove the gift as my mother knew that as a child it was more of a “curse” (my mother apparently had similar visions, but not as vivid and strong, as a child/adult and hence did not want my sister to go through the same – my mother would apparently “see” in her dreams). After much persuasion the nuns did finally agree and understood my mother’s concern, and gave my sister an amulet to wear. This was not to be removed at any time (not even in the bath/shower). This apparently would give her protection and she would not be distrubed or “see” anything whilst it was worn.

This amulet was made from a yellow cloth in which some prayers were written (and folded into a triangular shape) and tied with a piece of red string if i recall correctly. My sister was to wear this until she turned 7 at which time the amulet could be removed (if the amulet went missing at that point it was supposedly natural and we did not have to worry about it) and the “sealing of the 3rd eye” was complete.

I also recall thinking, how is this filmsy little amulet going to last 3-4 years but it did! And what is interesting to say the least was on the morning of my sister’s 7th birthday the amulet was gone… We had even “forgotten” about the amulet till that morning when and we seached high and low for it and never found it!

The amulet did indeed work as my sister never did “see” anything while she was wearing it and definitely nothing since her 7th birthday. My sister is now 33yo.

This was just a short snippet of what I had experienced as a child and perhaps my memories have been distorted over the years but I do know that the unexplained circumstances of my sister’s visions I can comprehend more logically now.

What is interesting for me to note is how the affinity with Kwan Yin is so strong with members of my immediate family, myself included… if the above posting is anything to go by, it certainly reaffirms our very existence, aspects on reincarnation and past lives and how interconnected everything is and that we are certainly NOT alone! How can we be? In this multitude of “space” surely a little speck such as ourselves cannot be the ONLY ones about. Hence I also found that in a way this blog topic relates very well with the following blow below as understanding both is like fusing together the spiritual and scientific (at least for me):

    http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/2010/06/world-reknowned-physicist-stephen-hawking-on-existence.html

    With much love… Andrew

I think that’s an awesome idea to have a Kechara ghost stories bit. I have had undeniable encounters with orbs. In fact, when I get insomnia and am awake between 4-5:30 am, the orbs are VERY STRONG.

I have given up on not believing.

The other night I was sitting in my usual meditation/reading chair in my garage, when I saw a huge colorful orb blow right through my the back of my head and out the other side where I saw the color clearly. Immediately I knew someone in my house had woken up. Seconds later I heard the footsteps of my mother going to the bathroom. I can’t describe it all but I KNEW there was psychic energy moving around.

Thank yolu Rinpoche for sharing your discovering real footage of ghosts. I really realy believe in ghosts or spirits. As I myself have encoubtered and experience them in my life. It can be ghosts of ,yolur loved ones or cfriends. Or can be ghosts who harm you. One of my experience of a ghost was my mother in law. My mum in law stays with me until she died. She had this antic key winding clock that only chimes with a pendulum fixed to it. She had this clock for years which she has been hanging in her room. When she died we took it down dismantled the pendulum and put it away as it chimes every hour and the chimes was quite disturbing. According to Chinese belief that after the death of a person, the deceased will come back to visit for the last time which is on the 49th day. Exactly on the 49th days after my mum in law died and at 12 noon the clock started to chime without a pendulum 12 times. After that it stopped and never chimed again without the pendulum. I like the footage of Gym experience of the Gym owner. At least it is not so scary as the one with the lady who got raped by the ghost.

Visualizing deities while meditating or when we are performing a puja is one of the principal methods used in the Tibetan tradition. Deities are highly symbolic representations of awakened minds that have appeared to past masters in visions. Deities are represented in thangkas and paintings. As more and more people embrace the Tibetan Buddhist path with sincerity and dedication, they understand better and could visualize through the practice. It is not about appeasing a deity, but engaging in formal meditational practices to transform ourselves. The actual practice in Buddhism is to purify karma, accumulate merits by way of Buddha-deity practice, and to create the causes and conditions for spiritual realisations.
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor David for these great teachings.

Centuries after Buddhism originated in India, the Mahayana Buddhism arrived in China through the Silk Route. The worship of Buddha Amitabha arose from a school of Buddhism. The Origins of Pure Land Buddhism began in India around the 2nd century BCE. It spread to China and then spread to Japan around the 6th century. Buddhism in China was undoubtedly quite different from Buddhism which was originally practiced in India. In China the beginnings of the Pure Land Buddhism are traced back as far as the 4th century, practitioners meditated on the name of Amitabha. The Buddhists believe that this deity helps in regeneration and improvement and has became icons used all over China. In China, the Pure Land sutras and teachings are based on Amitabha Buddha. It then spread and became dominant in other Asian countries as well.
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor David for this teachings

Niguma is considered one of the most important and influential yoginis and Vajrayana teachers of the 10th or 11th century in India. Niguma was a dakini, and one of the two female founders of the Shangpa Kagyu school of Vajrayana Buddhism. She has created. a system of yoga predominantly for women. Historically, it is the only yoga series designed by a woman. Niguma’s life, her teachings had a significant impact on Buddhism. According to scholars, Niguma had high-level realization, attained rainbow body, and even received teachings directly from Vajradhara. It is said that Niguma cultivated the Buddhist path in previous lives, so that in her lifetime she directly saw the truth of the nature of phenomena just by hearing basic phenomena from a few adept masters. Interesting life story of a great Dakini .

Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo is a bhikṣuṇī in the Drukpa lineage of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. She is an author, teacher and founder of the Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery in Himachal Pradesh, India. Reading this interesting post with the thought of our daily life, how laziness will bring us downhill. It is possible to overcome laziness by setting achievable goals and developing a strong work ethic. Lazy ambition is not an uncommon occurrence . Through not been lazy, it takes sweat, determination and hard work one can be successful. Laziness may reflect a lack of self-esteem, by taking the initiative doing things that matters in life such as learning dharma and practicing dharma is the best option. Letting go all unnecessary secular activities and do more to benefit others will be a better choice. Do what we can, with what we have, where we are and not excuses not to do. Accept whatever comes along, accept reality instead running away from it been lazy.
Thank you Rinpoche for this profound teachings of Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo.

A mantra is a sacred utterance, a numinous sound, a syllable, word believed by practitioners to have religious, magical or spiritual powers. They are refer as sacred words of power. Mantras are used in many spiritual traditions, they originated in the ancient scriptures. They are used up to this day in India. Anyone who recites those holy words can tap into their source and connect with sacred energy that helps to transform our minds. A tremendous blessing power that exist in all religions . When we chant mantra, the ancient sound vibrations carefully designed by the sages impact our vibrational frequency. They have precise effects on different parts of our body and energy levels. Any pictures of Chenrezig will always caught my eyes on it since young. Looking at those pictures and watching the videos , had me think of how tedious training those dancers had gone through against the odds. A salute to them even though they are deaf-blind-and-mute they danced gracefully transforms into 1000 arm-chenrezig. They are a professional dancer from the China Disabled People’s Performing Arts Troupe. They learned the art of dancing through sign language with other trainers at a very young age. Determination says all.

Reading again the stories of Gaden Jangtse’s Jolenpa Gen Nyima, by Kyabje Tsem Tulku Rinpoche truly inspiring indeed. An extremely humble monk was not interested in titles, recognition or degrees yet highly attained Yamantaka yogi with his meditation practice .One could transform into an exalted being if we sincerely and having engage in the meditations and practices. Gen Nyima’s example shows and inspired many that humility is the basis of all attainments. Live a simple life , donated mostly all to monastery and kept little for himself. Having saved many people performing miraculous healings and giving extremely accurate divinations. Interesting reading of his miraculous healing. Wow interesting stories about Gen Nyima demonstrating his attainments to spread the Dharma and had inspired others through his Dharma teachings. Gen Nyima had spent 15 years in a Yamantaka retreat in Bhutan before returning to Gaden Jangtse Monastery.
Rejoiced to Irene Lim and few of Tsem Rinpoche ‘s students having met Gen Nyima at Gaden Monastery back in 1993.

Thank you Rinpoche and Beatrice Ooi for this sharing and explaining the details of incense. Within Tibetan Buddhism, incense has traditionally been used as an offering to the Three Jewels for centuries, so as in other Buddhist traditions. Within ritual, incense is also used to purify offering substances such as water, food and light. We offer incense as an expression of our gratitude and reverence for the Buddha’s great compassion. The practice of burning incense sticks has a dual purpose, purifying and cleansing the energy of a space. It is said that the fragrant eliminating negative impurities and creating a positive environment. In many religious practices, burning incense is believed to deepen our attention and empower our spiritual focus. The aroma of incense can help us to tap in our spiritual connections. It calms the environment and our mind, cleansing the space for inner and outer journeys. Great article.

Revisit this blog again …….very useful information for us to know where and how our incense powder make of. Reading this blog and coming to understand better of herbs name which I haven’t heard before. Smoke cleansing is a practice performed by various cultures, religions, and faiths around the world. A ritual steeped in history, smoke cleansing involves the burning of various herbs, resins, wood powders, and essential oils for health or spiritual purposes.
Its good to know many of plants rather herbs have many benefits and very useful in curing diseases and clearing negative energy in an environment. Herbs and incense when burned will brings fresh, fantastic energy at home. Its effects are truly fantastic in purification rituals as well. The different types of herbs, and other ingredients are used, which is based upon that which is regionally, culturally, spiritually, or historically significant.
Excellent article, well researched full of interesting information, I really learnt a lot .

Interesting how an offering of incense had saved lives. Even its an old post, reading it with joy how this little act of incense offering had saved Tsem Rinpoche students. Rinpoche normally has his students makes prayers but on that day Rinpoche led everyone travelling down to Kuala Lumpur to make an offering of incense. Rinpoche usually recites the prayer once or twice to clear obstacles. Somehow it was different on that day, Rinpoche recited the prayer seven times, and then proceeded to ask Dorje Shugden to remove any obstacles quickly and effective and to protect his students. Then it happened,a car crash on the way Rinpoche and students walk out safely without serious injuries. The power of Dorje Shugden that Rinpoche had invoked before the journey. The invoking of Dorje Shugden’s energies, an offering of incense saved the lives of those in the car. That’s amazing.
Thank you Rinpoche and Genla for this sharing.

Well with the correct visualisation, consistently and sincerely during prayers we can purify a tremendous amount of negative karma that will create the obstacles in our lives. Reading this blog tells us a thousands knowledge to learn and put into practice. Getting to understand now. So what we experience now is our past karma in what we had done. We must learn, practice Dharma and accept all circumstances that arise during our practice. We must change and practice more to transform our mind , taking the sufferings of others rather than ourselves.
Thank you Rinpoche for these powerful teachings.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
