Last year in November 2014, I requested a group of my students to go to Vermont (USA) to meet His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche and to make offerings on my behalf. I was unable to go at the time. So they represented me.

Our group had the wonderful fortune to go there and receive a timely audience. They had made extensive offerings to Trijang Rinpoche and updated him on my activities, our works, what we have been doing, and also brought a photo album of Kechara’s departments and all of our activities to show Trijang Rinpoche. The audience with Trijang Rinpoche was over 3 hours, and he had listened attentively and caringly to all of our explanations and updates about Kechara House.

The beautiful and blessed Amitayus statues which was kindly gifted to me by H.H. Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche.

The beautiful and blessed Amitayus statue which was kindly gifted to me by H.H. Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche.

It was during this time that Trijang Rinpoche gave some advice that was passed to me through my students, and also sent me a personal audio message which I treasure. I was very touched by all of that. On top of that, His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche had presented me with an Amitayus statue, which as you all know, represents the Buddha of the Western Paradise, as well as the Buddha of extension of one’s life in order for one to engage in dharma practice and gain attainments. To receive such a precious gift from such an erudite incarnation of a great master was truly touching and humbling at the same time. My previous incarnations had close connections with Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche I was told. Trijang Rinpoche even had his students take my students to a nice meal at Thai Restaurant to show his appreciation. So kind. Blessed.

I would like to thank His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche, his Ladrang and entourage; for the kindness they bestowed to my students and at the same time, for the wonderful and lovely gift which I will display in an open area in Kechara so that everybody may receive blessings from this Amitayus statue. In Tibetan culture, to offer any of the Buddhas of Long Life such as Amitayus, Namgyalma or White Tara to a person or to a Lama, you are wishing them long life, eternal bliss, happiness, youth and strength. So, it has a lot of meaning and significance. It is extremely meaningful to me.

HHKTRAmitayus003-S

I definitely treasure my connections with my lamas of my previous incarnations. Every samaya is important. Our individual samaya to our gurus is very important. No one single guru should make samaya to him override a samaya to our personal gurus. We can never forsake our gurus for another guru. And no guru can say that we must have good samaya with him at the cost of our samaya to our personal gurus who kindly gave us so much time, energy and practice.

I enclose here pictures of our group with His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche having audience and speaking with them. When the timing is correct, I will go and pay my deepest respects to His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche.

I am glad to see they are well. I treasure my friends especially sangha friends because we share the same teacher, lineage, practice and monastery. Whatever the ideology of my friends does not concern me, but the human warmth we share is what matters.

About a year ago, His Holiness Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche gifted me this conch shell through a student of mine who visited TBI while he was in Vermont. The conch shell represents the dissemination of the dharma. I thank His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche for his kindness, blessings and genuine care for myself and thousands like me.

The beautiful and blessed Amitayus statues which was kindly gifted to me by H.H. Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche.

It is a great honour to be able to meet the great Lamas like H.E. Tsem Rinpoche, H.H. Trijang Rinpoche, H.H. Zong Rinpoche and many more. They are the living Buddha, they are the ones who has achieved enlightenment, and they know what is best for us in order to liberate from the sufferings.

It is very meritorious to make offerings to lamas like them in order for us to get better connection so that we can continue to learn and practice Dharma under them in this life and probably in our many lifetimes to come until and are liberated.

Offerings can be categorized in 3 levels,
    1. Monetary and material offering
    2. Skill and time offering
    3. Mind Transformation offering

this 3 levels go progressively from the 1st to 3rd which is the highest offering we can make to our guru by transforming our mind.

Monetary and material offering is to offer up money or material items, it is the easiest and lowest level of offering, as anyone who has some money in their pocket can already offer that, not much effort is needed.

Skill and time offering is to offer up our time spent for leisure activities to Dharma activities and for the spreading of Dharma.

The highest offering is mind transformation, which is to learn the dharma, practice the dharma and eventually transform our negative mindset, bad habits into compassionate mindset and Dharmic habits.

    Dear friends,

Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.

You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.

Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.

May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

    Dear Rinpoche,

I rejoice on Beng Kooi and others able to represent Rinpoche to visit H.H Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche. It is important to be able to carry Rinpoche’s instructions well so that we could represent Rinpoche well. Thus, I learned from this article, to be able to understand and follow the guru instructions is essential. To have strong Guru Devotion is important for our spiritual progress. If we want to meet our Guru for next life after lifes, it is good we can have strong samaya with our guru now.

May I have strong Guru Devotion and samaya with Rinpoche.

Thank you Rinpoche for teachings us the important of Guru Devotion

    Bowing to Rinpoche’s lotus feet,

For longest time, people who have been misled have wrongly accused Dorje Shugden practitioners and have hated blindly without understanding the real issue. Therefore it is very refreshing to see this comment by Suzy in Rinpoche’s YouTube channel [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl-4lIwxph4&t=11s] in which she eloquently expressed how her mind shifted about Dorje Shugden after learning more about the Protector.

It is rejoicing news hear news about Trijang Buddhist Institute the organisation under the auspices of Trijang Rinpoche’s guidance. Trijang Rinpoche the previous one took in all the teachings that Je Pabongka that had to offer, and the current Trijang Rinpoche also looks to be the receptacle of the secret and ear whispered lineage teachings of the Gelug tradition.

It is such an honour for Kecharians to be granted an audience with H.H. Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche. The gifts that H.H. Trijang Rinpoche presented our Guru, H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, a beautiful Amitayus statue and a conch shell bear such deep significance. It is one erudite master requesting another to please live long and continue to turn the wheel of dharma. With folded hands, thank you so much. _/\_

Beautiful pictures showing how lamas are united and have harmony and respect for each other for the dharma. They work hard to spread the dharma and encourage and wish each other well. So, to those with no dharma, seeing such harmony and kindness and care, will encourage further investigation into dharma.

All for dharma and the benefit to all sentient beings.

May Kyabje Trijang Choktrul Rinpoche live long to spread the dharma.
May H.E. Tsem Rinpoche have stable health and long life.

Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa, Tibet

Over 400 years ago a great and learned lama Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was famed in Mongolia, Tibet, Nepal and China for being very saintly and compassionate. He resided in his residence (Zimkhang Gongma Ladrang) in Drepung Monastery. His root guru was H.H. the Omniscient 4th Panchen Lama and his close dharma brother was the 5th Dalai Lama.

The 5th Dalai Lama and Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen had a very close and dharmic relationship and often went to receive teachings together from the 4th Panchen Lama. They were close in age. They both became very learned and well known. During this time, the Dalai Lama was enthroned as a Dharma King of Tibet. But more people went to see Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen for teachings, initiations and divinations. This made the attendants of the 5th Dalai Lama feel threatened that Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s fame might usurp the power of the 5th Dalai Lama. So they had a khata forced down his throat. At that moment, Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen dissolved his psychic winds and generated the wish to be a great guardian of Buddha and Tsongkapa’s teachings. As his consciousness dissolved, he entered ‘bardo’ as a dharma protector of the highest order (jikten depey sungma). Many signs were seen throughout Lhasa at this time and the earth was said to have shaken in Lhasa. This event was already predicted to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s previous incarnation when he was one of the 8 main disciples of Lord Tsongkapa the Supreme Master and he served Tsongkapa directly by building Gaden Monastery.

When the 5th Dalai Lama heard what his scheming and power-hungry attendants had done, he was very distressed. He was very sorry Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was murdered and dishonored as he was a great dharma master. The 5th Dalai Lama composed an apology to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen. In Lhasa, tens of thousands gathered for the cremation of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s holy body. During the cremation, the 5th Dalai Lama’s apology was read out at which flames spontaneously arose from the body of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen commencing the cremation. From the body, during cremation, a powerful whirlwind of smoke tunneled into the sky for all to see as this was an indication Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s consciousness has arisen as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. The Dharma Protector Setrap immediately recognized this new protector Dorje Shugden and ‘enthroned’ him as a powerful Dharma Protector in the realm of the Buddhas. From this, Setrap and Dorje Shugden are closely connected and very close working hand in hand always. After the cremation, the great 5th Dalai Lama built a Dorje Shugden chapel on the spot the cremation took place and named it Trode Khangsar. The 5th Dalai Lama commissioned the statue of Dorje Shugden in this chapel and had monks installed in the chapel to do continuous propitiations to Dorje Shugden. Trode Khangsar Chapel was a commemoration to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who was wronged and also a celebration of his consciousness arising as the World Peace Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

This Trode Khangsar Chapel still exists now in Lhasa where many make pilgrimages there. It is in good condition and was recently renovated. It is over 400 years old and a testimony to the respect the Great 5th Dalai Lama had to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who arose as Dorje Shugden.

I have visited this holy chapel in Lhasa years back. I’ve never heard of it till I was in Lhasa and by chance, I was told about it which I was happy to visit. I could not find the place but strangely a bunch of pilgrims from Amdo told me they would show me how to get there in Lhasa.

This short video is a short clip of this holy Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa today commemorating Dorje Shugden, built by the great 5th Dalai Lama. The great 5th Dalai Lama even composed a prayer to Dorje Shugden which is still available today and we can recite to invoke the blessings, protection, and assistance of World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

    HUM
Though unmoving from the sphere of primordial spontaneity,
With wrathful turbulent power, swifter than lightning,
Endowed with heroic courage to judge good and bad,
I invite you with faith, please come to this place!

Robes of a monk, crown adorned with rhinoceros leather hat,
Right hand holds ornate club, left holds a human heart,
Riding various mounts such as nagas and garudas,
Who subdues the mamos of the charnel grounds, praise to you!

Samaya substances, offerings and torma, outer, inner and secret,
Favourite visual offerings and various objects are arranged.
Although, previously, my wishes were a bit dense,
Do not stop your powerful apparitions, I reveal and confess!

Now respectfully praising with body, speech, and mind,
For us, the masters, disciples, benefactors and entourages,
Provide the good and avert the bad!
Bring increase like the waxing moon in spiritual and temporal realms!

    Moreover, swiftly accomplishing all wishes,
According to our prayers, bestow the supreme effortlessly!
And like the jewel that bestows all wishes,
Always protect us with the Three Jewels!

It’s amazing, sometimes when you make a spiritual choice, some people can criticize and segregate you for it. As if your choice must be approved by them. If they don’t approve they have some mandate to tell you that you are wrong and also can be rude for your choice of faith. If you don’t pray to what they pray to, then your ‘god’ is a demon or something. How archaic. LOL. I find that amazing. LOL again. How can you come to my space, face and life and tell me my religion is wrong? I didn’t hurt anyone with my faith and I don’t intend to. Whatever others of my same faith are or are not doing is not me. So don’t bundle me up into the same package. I am me and they are them. Besides, I am more than my religion. There are many aspects of who I am. So don’t just look at my spiritual choice and summarize me. You don’t know me. And you don’t have to know me. Also I owe nothing to you. I don’t need your approval for my spirituality. I would love to be your friend but let’s not let our spiritual choice ever get in the way. Be modern, be today and accept who I am as I don’t hurt anyone. 🙂 So look at all parts of who I am but the bottom line is my spirituality is my choice, do not ever presume to comment, disparage, judge or even think anything about it. I eat what I want. I dress as I like. Live where I want. Befriend who I wish. Write what I like on my social media space and pray to whatever I feel is working for me. Full stop! 🙂 Thanks for letting me live my life as your opinion of it is not needed, requested or solicited and I say this with deepest respects to you.. Humbly, Tsem Rinpoche

For me, I have received teachings from H.H. the Dalai Lama and I still have to respect him as one of my lamas. It might be different for some of you who have not. But my approach must be respectful. Even if I didn’t have teachings from H.H. the Dalai Lama, would still approach him in a respectful manner. The advice against Dorje Shugden practice by His Holiness is hurting many people in fact millions. It’s creating discord, segregation and pain. Everything the Dalai Lama teaches is about compassion, tolerance and reconciliation and the Shugden practitioners deserve that too. I therefore, respectfully prostrating to the ground would ask H.H. the Dalai Lama to please send his ministers to talk to the leaders of the Shugden group and resolve this issue. I say all this with deepest respects. As a part Tibetan, I also wish His Holiness the best. Long live the Dalai lama. Humbly, Tsem Rinpoche

Dear everyone , Dalai Lama is spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism whether Tibetans agrees or not it’s up to individual but according to all different schools of Tibetan Buddhism, he is right now so he has to be true if he sees something problem which is guidance for Tibetan people. Same time it’s up to individual to follow his advise or not.. If you have right to follow The evil spirit then we have also right to stopped. Best thing is, to go on their own track,,, no body likes to invite a person who is harmful to family and I am sure u r doing same as u think we r problem for you… More thing is Chinese govt has destroyed many monastery and not giving religion freedom in Tibet but I hardly see spirit supporters taking steps on that coz I think ur guru monastery was also burn down… Don’t only target his holiness 14th Dalai Lama. By editing few video doesn’t prove much.. Watch whole video … Bhoegyalo

May Rinpoche be blessed with a healthy long life to continously focus his desire in benefiting all sentient beings. It is quite out of this world to witness the joining of great Dharma masters like Trijang Choktrul Rinpoche and Tsem Rinpoche. These are silent heroes who dedicate their time and effort to study and preserve the precious pure lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa’s doctrine. Despite the challenges and obstacles, these master do not give up so that the Dharma remains available to us…so that happiness, peace and, ultimately, liberation is available to us. How privileged and fortunate are we?!

Rinpoche has always emphasized and displayed consistent practice of Guru Devotion. I believe this connection with Trijang Choktrul Rinpoche stems from Rinpoche’s clean samaya with all of Rinpoche’s Gurus. Always doing Rinpoche’s best to uphold and honor the promises to his teachers and uphold every teaching they bestow upon him as precious and perfect…not letting politics get in the way of pure practice.

Rinpoche’s practice of Guru devotion has spread to BODs like Beng Kooi who, through the practice of her Guru devotion, accumulated the “required” merits to represent Rinpoche to meet with Trijang Rinpoche. So, we have exemplary individuals like Beng Kooi and team (whom we can relate better with as fellow Malaysian who grew up in an environment similar to our own) to show us Guru devotion is possible and achievable if we so choose.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this visit of the Kechara team to Trijang Buddhist Institute!

  40. Frederick Law on Jan 18, 2015 at 1:14 am

I rejoice to the Team who had went to Vermont and made offerings to H.H Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche on behalf of Rinpoche. Such an honour and blessing for us that Kechara are able to connect with the reincarnation of His Holiness Trijang Rinpoche. His Holiness has been the epitome of the renaissance of Lama Tsongkhapa tradition, which has spread to all walks of life as we speak now.

To have both His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and Tsem Rinpoche spreading Dharma together show us the compassion and both Guru who reincarnate back life after life to continue to benefit the sentient beings.

May His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche have good health and long life, and may Trijang Rinpoche able to lead us as His previous incarnation did to spread Lama Tsongkhapa teaching to even more people.

  41. Denise Kuek on Jan 17, 2015 at 3:11 am

Thanks Rinpoche for sharing this. It is so rejoice and precious to see two high lama offer gifts to each other. These photos show how our guru H.E Tsem Rinpoche treasure other Rinpoche who is also spreading Dharma and help out others, and we can see H.H. Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche show his love and care to our guru as well. In Buddhism, that is no comparison and no argument, all are about showing compassion and we respect and treasure those are spreading or learning Dharma and wish for their higher attainment always. When I see these photos I feel so warm and touching, how beautiful it is!

    • Carmen K on Jan 17, 2015 at 5:07 am

Yes Denise, you are right. Real gurus and practitioners make no comparison or argument with each other, as the main priority and aim is to benefit others and spread the pure teachings of the Buddha. Disciples should not jump from one guru to another, because of fame, nor should the teachers speak ill of other teachers. Buddhism is the practise of wisdom and compassion, and not to push us towards going against the 8 worldly Dharmas. So yes, it is lovely to see Tsem Rinpoche show his love and respect to Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and vice versa; because their samayas with each other are intact due to their pure motivation in both their Dharma works.

For us to be alive now living in this age where holy beings like HH Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and Tsem Rinpoche turning the wheel of dharma together is too rare and few. It is just like the Lamrim story of the “blind sea turtle coming out to take a breadth of air right in the middle of a golden floating yoke”. The realization of this human life is so precious for us to chance on this opportunity to be able to make offerings to His Holiness is a rarity. How lucky for Kechara and Kecharians to have this opportunity. Thank you Rinpoche.

Interesting read about Goddess Gemu, being worshipped by the ancient tribal community Mosuo people in both Shamanistic Animism Tibetan Buddhism. The Mosuo are considered the last-remaining matriarchal society in China, where they are a culturally-rich people. The traditional Mosuo religion worships nature, with Lugu Lake regarded as the Mother Goddess. Their practice is incorporated to the Tibetan Buddhism practice in the region for decades. The Mosuo has their own syncretic faith called Daba and the influence of Tibetan Buddhism. The Goddess Gemu is the most widely worshipped by the Mosuo people. Glad to note that the traditional shamanism based Daba faith is concertedly with the Tibetan Buddhism faith. The Zha Mei monastery which is a gelupa monastery had a strong affiliation with Dorje Shugden and at the same accepted the worshiping of this Goddess. The 5 th Panglung Kuten did took Dorje Shugden trance at this monastery . Strangely the CTA cannot accept the practice of Dorje Shugden on the hand could accept an unenlightened protector deity Godess Gemu. The practice of Dorje Shugden is indeed very beneficial so as the practice of Daba faith to the Mosus people.
Well, may the Dorje Shugden ban soon going down into history for the benefits of all sentient beings.
Thank you Valentina for a detail write up on the Gemu Goddess and those rare pictures of oracles by Dr.Joseph Rock who had explored the Tibetan borderlands .

Walpola Rahula Thero was a Sri Lankan Buddhist monk, world renowned scholar and writer. Dr. Rahula is the first Buddhist monk to become a professor in a Western world. He has written extensively about Buddhism in English, French and Sinhalese. He was noted not only for his erudition but also for his strong socialist views. During his lifetime he was awarded several awards for his incredible work towards harmony.
(Whatever we are Theravada or Mahayana, as Buddhists we all accept the Buddha as our Master who gave us the Teaching.)…..well said.
Ven. Rahula was later instrumental in encouraging the formation of the first Theravada temple in the United States. He spent most of his life in teaching and lecturing before going back to Sri Lanka where he passed away. Interesting read.
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor David for this sharing.

Interesting fact Achi Chokyi Drolma rose to protect Drikung Kagyu lineage while Dorje Shugden who rose to protect the Gelug teaching.. It is very powerful how enlightened beings can transform mundane activities like marriage, feasting and having a family into something that benefits others.
Thank you for the good and informative sharing.

Tibet, on the northern side of the Himalayas, is an autonomous region of China. Also known as “Roof of the World” a country of immense natural beauty for its towering peaks and many beautiful scared lakes. Yamdrok Yumtso Lake is one of a power with natural beauty and very holy. Looking at those pictures in the blog tells us all. It is a beautiful turquoise-blue water lake mountain pass surrounded by snow capped mountains, island, pasture, temple, hot springs, wildlife and other natural landscapes. Yamdrok Lake is picturesque scenery, and it is in an organic whole of unique natural scenic. According to local folklore, Yamdrok Lake are considered sacrosanct by the Tibetan people is the transformation of a goddess and invested with special spiritual powers which is closely associated with Guru Rinpoche. Interesting read of the legend of that Dorje Geg Kyi Tso.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing with historic stories behind it.

So powerful, octopus could actually attacked and eat an aggressive shark. One that might surprise us is such an soft spineless octopus could be killed shark. The incredible footage as shown in the video that a octopus successfully attacking and killing an unsuspecting spiny dogfish shark. The octopus use their strength to overpower the shark…amazingly where we do not expected it. Never judge anything by the look or size till the end result. In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect.

Reincarnation is the philosophical or religious belief that the non-physical essence of a living being starts a new life in a different physical form or body after biological death. The major religions in Asia hold a belief in reincarnation, especially Hinduism, Buddhism ,Jainism, and Sikhism accept that the reincarnation of a being depends on the past karma and merit accumulated. Reading this interesting blog, we get to understand better, we could look around in our friends or family members for signs that show us evidence of reincarnation. Interesting to know about these unusual signs of reincarnation as mentioned in this blog.

That’s great with the discovery of a massive 2,600 year old Buddhist Monastery in Mes Aynak, Afghanistan. Mes Aynak contains Afghanistan’s largest copper deposit, as well as the remains of an ancient settlement with over 400 Buddha statues. This archaeological site is located at the world’s second-largest unexploited copper mine. Sadly because of the Afghanistan an Islamic government in no way interested in Buddhism, had given Afghani archeologists three years to excavate and soon it will be destroyed. Some believe future discoveries at the site could have the potential to redefine the history of Afghanistan and even the history of Buddhism itself. This site is an outstanding and complex archaeological landscape, with astounding quality of preservation. Well even the archaeological evidence points to civilizations in the area flourishing as early as the 3rd century BCE. This is an old post, all these ancient Buddhist site were destroyed by now….Sad. Interesting read. Looking at those beautiful rare pictures of the discoveries tell all.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this wonderful story…..The “Story of Buddha with Sick Man”. A good example for us to follow nor matter what happened or whom , we are to help each other and have compassion for all even its our enemies. Helping, supporting and taking care of each other is important in our Dharma practice. Having a perfect human body in this life, we have to live wisely and be grateful , learn and practice Dharma as life is short. We only live once, living harmoniously and peaceful will change the environment for us all to work and benefit more people in our spiritual practice. Harmony is the practice of the Sangha. If we have harmony, we have happiness. We don’t need to be perfect…..quoted.

Buddhism has a long history in Indonesia, is the second oldest religion in Indonesia after Hinduism, which arrived from India around the second century. Reading this post reveal Indonesia has a rich and intricate history intertwined with colonialism and nationalism. The history of Buddhism in Indonesia is closely related to the history of Hinduism. Buddhists make up a small fraction of the population in the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation. As a number of empires influenced by Indian culture were established around the early 1st century. Many Buddhist temples were built and Buddhist texts were inscribed on the stones tablets. A number of Buddhist historical heritages such as the 8th century Borobudur mandala monument, ancient temples and numerous of statues or inscriptions were found in Indonesia tells us more about the earlier history of Indonesian Hindu-Buddhist kingdoms. Interesting read.

As cars have become one of the most significant aspects in the modern life, that’s a great idea, for all of us to invite Buddha statue in our car for protection and blessing.

As we believe that laying eyes on a Buddha statues suppose to bring peace, harmony, happiness, blessing and protection. Besides, having Buddha statue in car does not just bring positivity to the owner but it may also benefit others who travel together.

Thank you for your skillful sharing of dharma.

Merely seeing Buddha images will definitely leave us an imprint in our mind stream. As advice by our Lama Tsem Rinpoche it is extremely important to go on pilgrimage to visit holy places and see sacred images of the Buddhas. I am fortunate to visit pilgrimage sites with friends , seeing is believing looking at some of the beautiful scared images of Buddha. To meet Rinpoche and practice Dharma on line in this life time, is a fortune for me. Well we have to learn and practice Buddha Dharma now, before its too late, create the causes for this life and future life to come and able to meet Maitreya the next Buddha to come. Interesting read about the next Buddha Maitreya.
Thank you Rinpoche for this important sharing.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
