Dear friends around the world,

When I openly informed the public that I practise and will continue to practise Dorje Shugden, I basically committed ‘professional’ suicide as a teaching lama that has some standing within the international Buddhist community. And then some people like the monasteries, friends, non-Tibetan people who follow Tibetan Buddhism, long-time compatriots and people I had grown up with, had to ‘toe the party line’ and they avoided me, abandoned me and never spoke to me again. Just because the Tibetan leadership said we cannot practise Dorje Shugden, we have no freedom to continue and must abandon our religious beliefs immediately. Failing to do so includes ‘punishments’ like ostracisation, segregation, criticism, loss of ‘credentials’, being labelled a Chinese government-paid spy, having to endure hundreds of hate comments on social media, death threats, abandonment by relatives, being disallowed from joining any Tibetan public events within the communities, being barred from any of the Dalai Lama‘s public talks (although everyone else of any religious or non-religious denomination is allowed) and constant attacks on my personal life. The attacks on my character by total strangers on social media are to discredit me so that my continued practice of Dorje Shugden is seen as the actions of someone who is of lesser value, and is therefore easily relegated to something that deserves to be punished. I am someone who deserves to be degraded, berated and in fact hated just because I refuse to be brow-beaten into abandoning my spiritual practice of my choice. People say, “Why don’t you just practise quietly?” That is what I am trying to do but I am berated on social media and by the Tibetan communities always. I have a right to practise and share this practice with whoever I want, as does any other person of any other religion for their own faith.

I have had high profile lamas privately write to me and tell me to seek audience with the Dalai Lama to ‘confess’ my bad deed of practising Dorje Shugden, and then surrender and get into the Dalai Lama’s good books again. They infer that by doing so I will become popular, well-known, clear my reputation and things will become ‘easier’ for me. They even offer to help me do so, saying they will write introduction letters for me. When I politely declined, they have avoided me till this day although I have met and known them for decades. Even lamas whom I have known for 30 years, suddenly will not talk to me anymore.

Even lamas who practised Dorje Shugden and abandoned the practice to be politically correct do not speak to me now, even though we were friends prior to this. I had thought that our friendship was based on each other and not our spirituality, but the lines seemed to be blurred now. I am the bad guy for continuing with Dorje Shugden and so they want to stay ‘clean’ by avoiding me. By interacting with a fellow spiritual colleague such as myself, it would be ‘professional suicide’ for them too. I guess being accepted helps you continue your spiritual work, even if it means you have to bury your conscience deeply.

The Tibetan leadership say we have full freedom to practise Dorje Shugden if we choose and the Dalai Lama is just giving ‘advice’ not to practise. But they have to say this in order to look democratic, so they can continue receiving Western financial aid which amounts in the millions. So they say we can choose to follow the ‘advice’ or not, but if we choose NOT to follow this one single ‘advice’ from the Dalai Lama, then we are not allowed to his talks, to Tibetan events, to the monasteries, to Tibetan institutions and we are totally demonised and segregated. Surprisingly (or not), any other advice that is not followed does not have such severe penalties. This is happening now and daily.

Just think – I believe in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha, and have practised Buddhism for over 40 years. My family, parents and grandparents are all Buddhists. My root teacher conferred upon me the practice of Dorje Shugden when I was 18 (I am now 51) and told me to continue this for life. I swore to that oath with my root teacher. According to Buddhist tantric codes, no leader or other spiritual authority should or could override this. Some Tibetan spiritual authorities try to make me override my teacher’s instructions but according to tantric codes, we must carry out our sworn promises to our root teacher and that is all I am doing. I have simplified this but basically that is what it is. My teacher for the entirety of his 81 years of life practised Dorje Shugden, as did his teacher and his teacher before him for the last 400 years since the Dorje Shugden lineage originally and officially began.

Now I am hated, demonised, avoided, degraded, berated and segregated simply for my religious beliefs. I have never had any ill intentions towards my own people the Tibetans, the Tibetan nation or His Holiness the Dalai Lama, but I simply wish to continue to practise Dorje Shugden (which I had sworn to my root teacher I would do). But on a daily basis, I am attacked on social media by people I have never met and called all types of names for upholding my personal religious beliefs. This type of spiritual harassment and hatred started by the Tibetan leadership must end if they wish to be recognised as democratic and truly in service of their own Tibetan people. The Tibetan leadership must speak up and embrace everyone no matter what their religion is. Their ‘democratic’ label is important to further garner the financial support of many Western and Japanese donors who support the Tibetan refugee leaders in Dharamsala, and the Tibetan diaspora community of 150,000 or more in India and Nepal. It is sad that the Tibetan leadership has not become independent of handouts and financial support after being in exile since 1959. This in itself speaks volumes. It has been 58 years already and the exiled Tibetan leaders still need handouts, donors and aid in the millions? Why is that? This really speaks volumes, and not positively so.

I firmly believe that if I am a Tibetan, whether I am an atheist, Buddhist, Muslim, Bonpo, Jonangpa, Dorje Shugden, Shamanistic or none of the above, I should be embraced, respected and given equal footing with other Tibetans by the Tibetan leadership (CTA) just by virtue of the fact I am Tibetan. For example all Americans should be treated equally by their American governments, and the same can be said for every other people and their government. Their religion, colour, gender and orientation should make no difference in the fair governance of their own people by any leadership. I should be allowed, if I choose to be involved, with all Tibetan gatherings and secular talks given by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I and my Dorje Shugden compatriots should not be barred from the Dalai Lama’s secular talks based on my religion. His Holiness the Dalai Lama is famous worldwide for his reputation of religious tolerance. Why not be tolerant too, towards his own people who practise Dorje Shugden? My religion should not matter in the eyes of the Tibetan leadership. All citizens should be treated equally. This is a sign of an ‘enlightened’, modern, progressive and democratic government. Would any genuine democratic government make any laws or advise any citizen against any religion in today’s world? Of course not. Unfortunately this is not happening within the Tibetan communities which are torn apart by prejudice and discrimination. I hope this changes soon.

I have no ill intent to my fellow Tibetan people, the Tibetan nation, its leaders and His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I have no political connections or inclinations and never had to any country. I am a monk and I have no political interests; my only interests are spiritual in nature. I have never harmed the Tibetans or their communities and have no intention of doing so. In fact I have donated greatly to the poorer Tibetan communities, monasteries, the Dalai Lama’s causes and the Tibetan leadership in the past 20 years. I have raised quite a substantial amount of money for them. They have kept all my offerings, donations and financial help although I practise Dorje Shugden, but they have ostracised me. It seems my donations are clean but I am not. All I am seeking is freedom of religion, for the Tibetan leadership to give full freedom of spiritual practice without segregation, and for no more demonisation of any Tibetan who sees things differently but are still loyal to their own people, as I am. My spiritual views are different, but I still respect His Holiness the Dalai Lama very much and wish our Tibetans the best always. Om Mani Peme Hung.

Humbly,
Tsem Rinpoche

Dorje Shugden is a practice which benefits tremendously those who connect with Him. This Dharma Protector will only benefit us and never harm.

Dorje Shugden is well-known in the Tibetan Buddhist world and everyone, even Non-Buddhist can pray to Him and are blessed by this very powerful World Peace Protector.

Everybody should be allowed to practice the religion that he or she wants and no discrimination should be done as religion is a personal choice and especially if we have received the practice from our teacher and promised to uphold the practice for life.

It is very heartbreaking to see that H. E. Tsem Rinpoche was avoided and punished for upholding his practice. Even not allowed to go teachings and talks only because of His Dorje Shugden practice.

May we all be able to practice according to our choice and not be punished for our religious practice.

All Buddhist practitioners or of others faith deserve to have religious freedom of their choice to what they want to pray. The ban on Dorje Shugden practice is unnecessary and illogical till to this day. The ban created by the Tibetan Leadership has cause much suffering to many people around the world. It is time for more people to speak up against this Dorje Shugden ban that has caused disharmony, discrimination, families and monasteries divided and so forth. The Tibetan Leadership not only make life harder for others but to themselves as well. They should accept their own failures not blaming others after all , they have been using the donations, for their benefits. Since coming to exile in India, they were given land , funds and so forth from many countries to help them yet they misused it.
At this present time, what is most important is to lift the ban so as all practitioner be at peace and harmony , be true to themselves regardless of their choice of practice. Live life on own terms, not someone else’s, that’s makes life happy.
All this while HH Dalai Lama have been promoting inter religious peace, harmony and understanding across the world yet when coming to Dorje Shugden practitioners it is not true in reality.
I do hope the ban of Dorje Shugden’s practice will soon come to an end.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing .

    Dear friends,

Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.

You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.

Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.

May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 assistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

I still love and miss His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I am hoping he will unite all of us no matter what our religion is. I know he will. His Holiness has done so much good in the world. I’ve admired him since I was a very young boy and when I met him for the first time in 1979. He came to Howell, New Jersey where I grew up. It was magical to see him. I pray one day he will accept all Dorje Shugden practitioners as was his root guru was a Dorje Shugden practitioner and invite us into his presence again with love and acceptance. I pray for his long life and continued presence in this world. I never lost hope in His Holiness the Dalai Lama to accept all of us regardless of race, religion, sect and background once again.

This is a powerful picture of Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen, Kensur Kyabje Lati Rinpoche and the current incarnation of Trijang Rinpoche meeting together in the year 2000 when Trijang Rinpoche was 18. All three lamas are Dorje Shugden practitioners. In fact Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen was the one that first encouraged my practice of Dorje Shugden when I was 16 years old when I joined his beautiful Thubten Dhargye Ling centre in Los Angeles. I lived with Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen for 8 years before proceeding to Gaden Monastery in South India. Later Kyabje Zong Rinpoche came to our Los Angeles centre and granted sogtae (permission ceremony) to practice Dorje Shugden for life as requested by Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen. Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen had tremendous faith in Trijang Rinpoche. Kyabje Lati Rinpoche was innovative, dedicated and very much focused on bringing dharma to many. He had tremendous faith in Dorje Shugden as I had the honour to meet him many times. He would seek advice from Dorje Shugden many times via the oracle of Gaden Monastery. Geshe Tsultrim Gyeltsen and Kensur Kyabje Lati Rinpoche have since passed away while the current Trijang Rinpoche is a perfect lineage holder and practitioner of Dharma while he keeps Dorje Shugden as his personal protector as he has done so for many lifetimes. This is a powerful and beautiful picture of three great lamas of Buddha’s lineage and also of Gaden Monastery.

This is absolutely unfair for Tibetan leadership to discourage Dorje Shugden practitioners from practicing their religious belief. What more they are being segregated and criticized on social media and even labelled as Chinese government-paid spy. All the negative comments towards Dorje Shugden practitioners, especially Rinpoche are forms of constant attacks on his personal life. Rinpoche has shown us a great example on how to be true to ourselves. He has demonstrated how to make choice to live life the way we want despite any disagreements. When we are true to ourselves and have faith, we will have the strength to stand even in the moment of challenge and controversy. We shall all have the same spirit as Rinpoche and hopefully Tibetan leadership will one day give full freedom of spiritual practice and treat Dorje Shugden practitioners equally like any other religion followers.

This reminds me of what the LGBT community has to face in mainstream society. They hide their orientation for fear of being found out, then ostracised, shunned, berated, hated and discriminated against. Then if they do come out, they face exactly that and immediately lose alot of their rights. For those who stand proud, they have to keep justifying, explaining and fighting for their rights.

Same for religious freedom. It is unfortunate that people have had to renounce a belief they once practiced, dissociate themselves from those who practice and now demonise a practice, just to be accepted in “mainstream” Tibetan society. I guess it’s really hard to go against the grain, to stick out like a sore thumb and to be the odd one out. It’s much easier to go with the flow, to fit in and be “compliant”, even if it would mean breaking promises, vows, commitments, conscience and relationships. I can understand that people who do that are just trying to survive, don’t want to invite trouble and avoid hardship.

It is from a heart of compassion that our Guru, H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche chose to put his own life, fame and reputation on the line and stand up for the rights of all the people who want to practice Dorje Shugden. By being the open target of all this abuse, he has put all others above self.

May this ban be officially lifted soon. Let us all practice in peace.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article. It is indeed shame to see that the Tibetan Leadership is still keeping this kind of thinking and doing such thing to stop their people from practicing Dorje Shugden and to get Western funding. No other country in the world manipulates their people like that in order to get funding, and no other countries in the world stand so strong to against a religion. A government who does that, is like they purposely want to separate their own people, which is very hard to get unity. Then don’t even need to talk about independent. Dorje Shugden is the protector of our time, his swift assistant and protection is what we must have faith on him and fully rely on him. As part of the Gelug lineage, Dorje Shugden is passed down from many many root Gurus of my root Guru. It can’t be fake. I have full faith of my Guru and Dorje Shugden, I will not stop practicing him. May H.H Dalai Lama see the consequences and lift the ban of Dorje Shugden soon. _/\_

Religion and politics should be kept separate, otherwise, it will result into what the TIbetan Leadership has clearly created, proven and shown. In the 21st century, it is almost rare to hear of a governmental body meddling into the religious choices of its people, but we have here the Tibetan Leadership funding publications, filming videos, effecting bans and discriminatory actions towards Dorje Shugden practitioners. What is their purpose and aim that the Tibetan Leadership focuses so much on a group of Shugden practitioners? It could only be a few things, that:

    1. Diverting attention from their lack of results and blame a group of religious practitioners for it.

    2. Trying to seek a scapegoat for their what they have or have not done

    3. Trying to continue to get in the goodbooks of others by taking the ban on Dorje Shugden to another level. Using religion for a political move

    4. For their own gains/benefits, whatever it might be

Otherwise, why would the leadership focus so much energy and efforts on sidelining the practice of Dorje Shugden where they should in fact, focus their energies on what a government in exile should actually be doing?

His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche didn’t do anything wrong, but yet he is persecuted and barraged against for elucidating exemplary guru devotion, as all practising Tibetan Buddhists should be focusing on as a true practitioner. And this is the result created by the Tibetan Leadership. Great segregation within its people.

Yes, as the blog-title indicated: “We have to be true to ourselves.” Like our Rinpoche who had wished for in one of his blog comments to His Holiness, The Dalai Lama, so do everyone of us in our dear life, which is for our “compassionate” Dalai Lama to eradicate our sufferings to lift the Ban! At least, we wish very much the people from His Holiness, “The Dalai Lama side-views” and people from Dorje Shugden’s practitioners, meet very soon, with and in deep sincere kindness to solve this issue once and for all! It’s been l9 years since the bans started with great disharmony! It must end with absolute peace and deep harmony! May we all humbly appeal to you, His Holiness, The Dalai Lama to have compassion to please end this sensless humans’ suffering, segregation and prejudice! Please forgive us for our boldness and numbness-ignorance in appealing to your Holiness in relieving our deep sufferings as there seem to be no other choice for us! With trembling hands and deep reverence, we very humbly bow to our feet for your forgiveness and great compassion! Om Mani Padme Hung.

On reading this article the first thing that comes to mind is the violation of our fundamental human rights of religious freedom. Secondly is the violation of fair rule by a governing body. CTA being the governing body of Tibetans In Exile should be ruling their people with a fair hand and without the interference of religious practices. Instead it is CTA who instigated negative actions of discrimination, segregation and persecution of Dorje Shugden practitioners. They incited hatred and abuses against these practitioners. And publicly CTA claims they are fair and proper?? All these are happening on Indian soil where the refugees were given refuge for 100 years. The Indian government out of respect to the Dalai Lama had allowed all these acts of “terrorism” on their own soil without interference. Doesn’t complacency show agreement or acceptance?

In any country there will be acts of discrimination but these are perpetrated by individuals or small groups. When this happens, the Governing body will step in to control the situation according to their country’s laws of anti-discrimination. With the case of discrimination against the Dorje Shugden practitioners, it is an edict by the very governing body who is supposed to protect. As such shouldn’t the world agency, United Nations step in to control the situation? Why have they not then? I think it boils down to their respect for the Dalai Lama and how CTA had slyly linked Dorje Shugden practitioners as supporters of China and the occupancy of Tibet. Though a malicious lie to deflect CTA’s own failures, many people including head of states fell prey. The Dalai Lama’s position as Nobel Peace Prize holder and a public figure of compassion and love, by default further enforced the lie by CTA.

Rinpoche’s courage and love for the Dorje Shugden practitioners being persecuted by CTA and Anti-Shugden groups is an inspiration to me. He braved so much personal loss, attacks with vulgarities, malicious lies and even death threats just to come forth of his personal practice of Dorje Shugden so that those without voice gets the notice of their sufferance. And throughout all his appeals and actions, the shining factor is his Guru Devotion, pure practices, compassion and most of all, his deep respect for the Dalai Lama.

I personally would add my voice to my Guru’s appeals for His Holiness the Dalai Lama to honour his compassion and love in declaring that Dorje Shugden practitioners are to be accepted and treated equally with respect. CTA should honour their role as Government with fair rule, allowing true religious freedom and lift the Ban on Dorje Shugden practices as well as stopping all negative actions against the practitioners. Om Mani Padme Hum! May the Buddha of Compassion arise!

  20. Pastor Antoinette on Mar 8, 2017 at 8:45 am

Yes, we cannot run away from ourselves! There is no way to stop practicing Dorje Shugden because we trust Dorje Shugden fully who is the World Peace Protector and Manjushri, Buddha of Wisdom.

Why should we stop practicing such a beneficial practice? Who would stop praying to a Buddha because of some greedy people? The choice is clear! The Tibetan Government has no right to put so heavy repercussions on Dorje Shugden practitioners. They are very undemocratic by not giving equal rights to all of their citizens. They even attack non-Tibetans because they practice Dorje Shugden!!

Hello! Dorje Shugden can be practiced by anyone in the world! The CTA or Tibetan Government in exile has nothing to say in my religious choice! Got it? It is a human right to choose my religion and I do practice Dorje Shugden!

Tibetan Government in exile stop this ban as it shows that you are not a government for your people! Treat all of your people equal and respect ALL religions! This is what a government should do, help ALL of their people and do not discriminate some based on religion!

May all the repercussions on Dorje Shugden practitioners end immediately!

Today when people are fighting for animal rights and freedom, in the dark side of a Buddhists community in side and out side Tibet, people still fighting for RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. yes, human right.

Today, around the world, Dorje Shugden practitioners are hated, demonised, avoided, degraded, berated and segregated simply for their religious beliefs. Why is that so? because the Tibetan leadership due to political issues, they created a series of lies about Dorje Shugden and it’s practice, so that the Tibetan Leadership can continue to receive donation from western world. isn’t this disgusting?

Every person deserve to have their own faith and belief. No matter who you are, what you choose, as long as you don’t hurt others. that’s the basic freedom and right that every person should have.

A holy protector practice that has been passes down for 400 years by Tibet very high lamas, that must be the benefits that had brought to the practitioners that helped in their spiritual practice. it is such a karma for Tibetan leadership to ban Dorje Shugden practice without any proof but lies and divisive speech. At the same time created so much a hatred, disharmony and bad reputation in the Buddhist world.

  22. Pastor Albert on Mar 8, 2017 at 7:58 am

Is Dorje Shugden an Enlightened Buddha or is he a Spirit.. This conversation has been going on for years and many who claimed Dorje Shugden is a spirit could not even provide any truth, it is all just because they said so.

Tibetan Government has been very deceiving, 1 side, they say no ban at all to Dorje Shugden practice, but yet, at another side they pay money to hire people to attack DS practitioners daily, harass them, send death threats, defame the lamas with false accusations. Instead of spending money to benefit their citizen, to provide more facilities, they rather spend money on creating videos to spread more lies. Not to forget, their citizens are not living in a very good environment.

And now when we look at Dorje Shugden practitioners side, examples of H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche, he never involve in politics, he never defame anyone, he never attack anyone online, and yet, he only spend all his time thinking how to benefit others.

For the past many years, I have seen how Dorje Shugden help others, like healing people from severe sickness, give financial aids to people who are going through difficulties, removed their obstacles, and most important of all, a lot of people came into their spiritual practice because of him. Just this reason is good enough for me to continue practice.

  23. Pastor Chia on Mar 8, 2017 at 7:47 am

Tibetan government said to tibetan and others they can practice what they want but why keep demonised dorje shugen practitioner. If His. No create more segregate between people believe. People in the world need religion support for their mental strange not create more doubt and disapointment. Which non of the people wish to see more at the future. Otherwise will lose out more friend and people around you. Think about that, dorje shugden practitioner has to separated from their friend and love one. How reliculos and lame.

I ready wish to see Dorje Shugden ban will end very soon. People can open their heart talking and communicate with each others.

  24. Mingwen on Mar 8, 2017 at 7:44 am

It’s sick to see people condemning and criticising on an individual, a religion, a type of practice or more with baseless and senseless REASONS.

People tend to create their own awful stories and scenes to put down their opponents to fulfill their desires. This is a selfish and an irrational act. Why do we need to do so when NOTHING belong to us and everything is IMPERMANENCE. Why create more hate than love? Why create the cause of suffering when we can all leave in harmony and peace?

May people who are in the dark/grey side, could see and follow the light and come back onto the right track.

    “流亡藏人领导说,如果我们选择信仰多杰雄登,我们有全然的自由这么做,达赖尊者只是“劝告”人们不要修,” 这真是太自欺欺人,禁令牌子,各种各样的禁令都有(我们就不被允许出席达赖尊者的开示,不允许参与藏人的活动,不允许到寺院去等等)还不认。 还用一大推理由隐藏,你还能相信流亡藏人领导吗?

    自从雄登禁令一路以来, 一旦你不听从这一个“劝告”,就会遭受以上所说的的惩罚。它让我想起我小时候,我父母常常说:「你听话,我就给糖果你吃,不听话,沒糖果吃,再不听话,我就打你」。哈哈,多么可悲的一种领导方式, 更可悲的是自己人打自己人,禁令讓人妻離子散,請問一個民主的政府會這樣對待自己的子民嗎?不要在把多杰雄登政治化.

    “佛的这种现身无可匹敌。如果你真的决心抑制你的思想,他甚至可以把心给你“。这是格西拉登仁波切谈多杰雄登。从这话, 格西拉登仁波切已经确认了多杰雄登为佛身。 而且是非常接近我们现代人修行的, 能补助我们的护法。拉登格西曾经被達賴喇嘛請去瑞士力康的西藏寺院當主持和弘揚佛法,拉登格西是第一位在西方國家介紹完整的戒律傳承和佛教五部大論的西藏僧人,格西拉登仁波切会是错了吗? 不要忙着错误批评人, 修持雄登是个人的信仰自由,为什么非要阻止不可?

    DS = Dorje Shugden

At KP outlets, so far.. i don’t face any of the customers against DS practice. Most of the customers and even my sibling ( and my mom too ) are not stopping me to work in Kechara because of DS issue.

We look to another side ( In Malaysia ) i am talking about, majority of the KP outlets customers and even my FB friends are interested on DS practice, they wanted to know more how to practice DS deeper, Why? most of my customers/friends after reciting DS mantra and make offerings to DS, amazingly their obstacles and difficulties are getting lesser, i am always glad to heard that ( DS is helping them and bring them to the path of Dharma ). I am seeing it by my eyes! ( all of the customers/friends obstacles are clear after they recite DS mantra and make offerings to DS too )

I am glad that Rinpoche brought this ( DS ) practice to Malaysia and promote it on Social Media.

Much grateful and appreciate what Rinpoche & Blog writer team works on Social Media.

How sad would it be if your family and friends abandon you because of your practice? Because of a practice that was given to you by your Guru, you are ostracised and looked down upon. I don’t think that I can ever accept that. Why blame me for something that I believe in? How different am I to you even if we are on different paths? You mean to say that you don’t have friends of another faith? The most important at the end of the day, is the results of our spiritual path and not what Buddha/God we practice.

We do not put our family or friends down because of what they practice. Instead we should encourage and help them on their spiritual path. Can you say that your religion teach you to shun other people out because they are not practicing you religion? Is that right?

Well, if I were to have friends like that, I don’t think I want to keep them around anyway because all they do is put you down and criticise you. I would rather stand firm in my practice because of what my Guru gave to me that will eventually help me to be better. And not someone who follow the crowd because they are scared of the ‘punishments’.

Never give up. And most importantly, be true to our self. Write from our heart, in your own voice, and about what we believe in. All of us should be given religious freedom to whatever we choose to practice. It is disappointing that the Tibetan government have can cause so much sufferings among the communities.Politics must not mix with religion, it will cause disharmony and peace among themselves. Never discriminate and segregate towards Shugden practitioners, they should be given human rights as well.Tibetan leadership have accepted offerings, donations and financial help from Rinpoche years back before the ban but now they have turn against him just because Rinpoche practices Dorje Shugden. They have forgotten of Rinpoche’s kindness and compassion in helping them.
Feeling sad for Rinpoche ,i can only hope H.H Dalai Lama will lift the ban soon to unite all Shugden’s practitioners.I will share more of Rinpoche’s blogs ,teachings and worthy thoughts with my friends on social media so as they will know the true of the ban.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing .

All Dorje Shugden practitioners is just the same as any other spiritual practitioners that deserve their freedom and choice of religious. We live in a modern world that should be given religious freedom and human rights.

The discrimination on Dorje Shugden practice is totally unreasonable and until today I have not read or encountered any solid base for it and looking at how the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) manipulate the failure of getting back the country with the ban is very sad. Instead of uniting their people they choose to create separation and where in the world you would see such leader of the country will do this? One big question here is that CTA is keep asking for freedom for Tibet but why they don’t give freedom for their own people on their religious of choice? Why they ostracised their own people to the extend of harming their life, constantly attack on social media, relate every single Shugden practitioners as Chinese spy? & etc.

After so many years of practice from the lineage masters and even the sponsors why create the ban now? And just like mentioned in the article why separate Shugden practitioners but not their sponsorship? Why being selective only on the benefits to the Tibetan leadership?

The ban has only created much suffering to many people and nothing positive that we can see and experience. From the eye of the people around the world it doesn’t look good at all to the Tibetan leadership and how far they want to go with this? The effort, time and money that CTA has spend on the ban so far has brought them any positive result in bringing peace, harmony or improvement in their people welfare? All these are easily being seen and assess by the world. What is the result?

We hope the Tibetan leadership unite all Dorje Shugden practitioners and lift the baseless ban. Tibetan leadership should show good example of freedom as that is what they are looking for. Stop blaming Shugden for their failure to get back their country but act positively to gain respect from the people all over the world.

Rinpoche has done so many things for the monks and monastries and yet they treated him like this. Why would they accept Rinpoche’s help in the first place since they know Rinpoche will never abandon his practice given by his root guru Zong Rinpoche? It doesn’t make sense at all. Rinpoche’s monk friends has even avoided and unfriend him too. This must all stop. Tibetan leadership must stop feeding the wrong information to their people and create hatred. I do hope Dalai Lama will quickly lift the ban to end all these sufferings.

    With folded palms,
    Vivian

It’s 2017 and we are still seeing religious apartheid against Shugdenpas. Our choice of religious practice is a personal one and so is our bond with our Guru, yidam and Protector. No one should dictate what we can or cannot practise. Referring to UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS by the United Nations, I would like to highlight 2 Articles that covers everyone, even Shugdenpas.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is a milestone document in the history of human rights. Drafted by representatives with different legal and cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world, the Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in Paris on 10 December 1948 (General Assembly resolution 217 A) as a common standard of achievements for all peoples and all nations.

    Article 2.

Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Furthermore, no distinction shall be made on the basis of the political, jurisdictional or international status of the country or territory to which a person belongs, whether it be independent, trust, non-self-governing or under any other limitation of sovereignty.

    Article 18.

Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

More on our rights here ->>
    http://www.un.org/en/universal-declaration-human-rights/

Just by observing how CTA is treating Shugdenpas, one can tell what kind of leadership/government will be ruling over them should they regain power in Tibet. Am sure no one would like a government that takes away the most fundamental right and dictate one’s personal choice of worship.

Thank you Rinpoche for highlighting more about what has been happening to Rinpoche. I really understand and feel really sad for Rinpoche that this kind of treatment on Rinpoche is a true mental torture. It’s high time that more people take this Shugden ban more seriously and speak up to help end this suffering for all Shugden practitioners. I hope more people will put effort to do social media on twitter to get the message across to help lift the ban. I will continue to support Rinpoche all the way to lift the ban by doing more social media on twitter and facebook.

It is very sad to hear and see a hardworking, compassionate, selfless, and kind spiritual guide, which is my own Guru, H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, receiving all types of discrimination, vulgarity, personal attacks, unfair comments and injustice every day because of practicing Dorje Shugden. The ban of Dorje Shugden is not written in any of the law and regulations from any country and yet, the discrimination and attacks against the Shugden’s practitioners have never decreased in number. Does the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) require to impose the ban of Dorje Shugden practice in order to start their daily routine job everyday? What is the logic behind that the ban of Dorje Shugden is still on-going now? On 18th September 2016, H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama has already proclaimed that the Dalai Lama himself does not stop anyone from practising Dorje Shugden. With this statement came out from H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama, all the anti-Shugden people should stop all the discrimination and attacks on Shugden’s practitioners by all means as showing respect to H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama.

If anyone of us refers back to the history since the ban of Dorje Shugden started from 1996 until now, do the CTA and anti-Shugden people gain any benefits and advancement from banning the practice of Dorje Shugden? The answer is definitely NO. The Tibetan Government in exile is still in exile now. The ban of Dorje Shugden has caused many sufferings and pain on the Shugden’s practitioners and divided the Sangha communities without unity but only hatred, avoidance and ill feelings. This types of negative thoughts, actions and behaviors are not the fundamental of Buddha’s teachings.

I sincerely hope and pray the ban of Dorje Shugden will come to an end very soon and all Tibetans, non-Shugden’s and Shugden’s practitioners will be united as one big Buddhist’s family. May the ban of Dorje Shugden will be lifted as soon as possible to end the sufferings and pain face by many Shugden’s practitioners.

    Thank you with folded hands,
    kin hoe

    Dear Rinpoche

Thank you for sharing this new blog article. Definitely it is a long overdue article to highlight to people who is confused by the saga still because of the maze created by CTA.

I felt the word demonised is appropriate to be used as there is definitely consistency with CTA when I read the word “demonised”. I have also found other Great Lamas have their reputation tarnished to the CTA’s best ability. It is somewhat shocking to see how Rinpoche from hero becoming vilian overnight because of one sacred practice used to be practiced by all in Gelugpa if not sects of Tibetan Buddhism for hundreds of years.

They said there is no ban on Dorje Shugden but yet there are schools, hotels, hospitals shops etc that doesn’t welcome Dorje Shugden practitioners. They even used so called donations to their cause to reclaim Tibet from China by producing videos which doesn’t tell the whole story by hiding the truths and highlight their lies to garner support.

I think CTA will continue to play the poor me card more than usual before they are being found out for doing next to nothing for the past 58 years. Seems all their failures are being diverted to China and Dorje Shugden. I believe they will eventually be found out on this on top of spreading lies against Shugden and His practitioners.

Thank you Rinpoche for NOT giving up Dorje Shugden practice and follow the rest of the other Lamas in order to just be on Dalai Lama’s good books and embrace “glory” but standing firm towards the ban in the best manner to be the voice of Dorje Shugden and His practitioners who are being threatened everyday. Without Rinpoche being firm and holding onto Rinpoche’s practice and vows of Zong Rinpoche, undeserving people like me will not even get to hear about Dorje Shugden let alone practising it.

    Thank you
    justin

What I see here is how social norms changed overnight in line with political norms.

On the side of Shugden practitioners, there has been no change in their spirituality and spiritual practice. They remain consistently practitioners of Dorje Shugden ,in the manner that Dorje Shugden has been practised since 400 years previously, whether by high Lamas, who wherever they are, continue to spread the Dharma of Je Tsongkhapa’s lineage, or by lay practitioners. They have been practicing with the same pure motive and unquestioning Guru Devotion and loyalty and keeping their samaya clean.

Compassionate Shugden Lamas continue to reincarnate so as to continue to fearlessly spread the precious Dharma and practices so necessary for this degenerate age. However, horror of horrors , the scenario had changed from the other side, the side of the CTA and their people. The moment the Dalai Lama declared a ban on Shugden practice, then the discrimination, ostracism and merciless persecution of Shugden practitioners were perpetrated relentlessly by them. Overnight, the innocent Shugden practitioners, deep spiritualists at heart, were condemned as evil and treated like criminals. Nothing had changed on the side of the Shugden Lamas and practitioners, and their beliefs and convictions. However, the perception of them from the side of CTA and their supporters just changed like that, as though a magician had waved his wand and mesmerised them.

Overnight it became politically correct to support CTA – give up Shugden practice and vigorously condemn and root out Shugden practitioners, no matter if they were your parents, spouse or best friend. Being on the side of CTA meant a lot of political and social mileage .You will get whatever you want – name and fame as a monk and teacher , for instance. Overnight, being on the wrong side of the camp -being a Shugden practitioner – means you lose all – your name and reputation as a great teacher, for instance.

As a Shugden Lama and practitioner, you have not changed one aota in the depth of your spirituality and practice. But the prison walls of society close in on you.Overnight, it became the NORM to be an anti-Shugden Lama, and to be a social outcast , rejected by your own community , if you remained a Shugden practitioner and Lama!

  37. Sarah Yap on Mar 6, 2017 at 4:50 pm

It is unfortunate that at this age and time, when the most important thing is to have peace and tolerance, Shugden practitioners are ostracised simply because of their choice of practice. While HHDL is trying his best to promote inter religious peace and understanding…. Shugden practitioners on the other hand are the most misunderstood in the Tibetan Buddhist scene.

To me, it is not only Shugden practitioners have lost their freedom to practice, but also all Tibetan Buddhists, who lost their own freedom to befriend others just because of this small differences. It is also sad that other Tibetan Buddhists are forced to abandon their friendship and relationship with others just because the other is a Shugden practitioner. And the saddest part of all, is that this lack of freedom is largely tolerated by Tibetan Buddhists on both sides.

I guess the biggest ‘enemy’ here is people’s fears, insecurities of the misunderstood and blind faith. I

I enjoyed reading the article and I agree very much with one of the facts highlighted in the article, and that is CTA always wants to keep the ‘Democratic’ label so that they can look good and still get financial aid from the Western Powers and some Asian countries like Japan i.e. that they are like minded comrades, believers of the freedom for all and human rights. Western people tend to have a hangup about being politically correct and about only doing funding/business with people or nations who do not oppress with others, at least on paper.

Naturally CTA like to overlook the fact that many Western Powers they get aid from also have some non democratic and oppressive activities. Such Western Powers usually tout human rights, freedom and democracy, yet on the other hand behind closed doors and behind the scenes these Western Powers sell much armaments to despotic regimes, prop up such regimes and create chaos on a geopolitical scale to sell more military hardware and software to help their own economies. All Western Powers and Japan, tries to do as much business with China as they can, this is a fact as more diplomatic doors in the Western world have been closed to CTA in the recent years. So some of the aid they receive from these powers have also done so much commerce with CTA’s ‘enemy’/China, why don’t CTA stop receiving aid from such ‘unclean’ sources of aid.

Therein lies the hypocrisy of the CTA, although they want freedom, they directly and indirectly are the receivers of funds from manipulative Western Powers and from business transactions dealings with China, CTA also perpetrate discrimination to their own people, hence no way they can get the results they want because on a daily basis they are creating the causes daily to be shackled and controlled by others.

  39. Joy Kam on Mar 6, 2017 at 2:30 pm

It is really frustrating to see the Tibetan exile leaders use the victim card of being a refugee to seek aid from the West, and from the ‘poor me’ attitude they basically conned everyone into helping them. This is fine, but what is not fine is that they tell the world they are Buddhist, democratic and they practice kindness and compassion. That is a load of none sense and lies. Because if your are Buddhist, you will not discriminate ANYONE!

As Buddhist we even have prayers and offerings we give to hungry ghost as we are supposed to practice compassion for all sentient beings. Our prayers does not say to give happiness to all sentient beings EXCEPT Dorje Shugden practitioners. So how can Buddhist discriminate and put another human being down because of their choice of religion?

As a democratic leadership how can you say you have and give religious freedom to everyone EXCEPT Dorje Shugden practitioners and if you claim you do then why would you have a WHOLE section on your official website regarding Dorje Shugden? Where is it on earth today that a democratic government would dedicate a page or section to discriminate another faith, deity, religion whatever you want to call it and would actually spend the people’s good money, tax payers money, donations from the West probably on printing books and making documentaries against a particular religious sect? Think about it, all this effort to shun, blame, justify why they need to discriminate, disassociate, and basically ban Dorje Shugden. And to encourage their own people to discriminate and reject another Tibetan. If this is called democracy, then something is terribly terribly wrong!

And how can monasteries kick monks out just because they choose to practice what their Gurus gave them just because 1 person said it is wrong hence everyone must follow of be kicked out, even though that person is not your Guru? That is definitely wrong.

The most disgusting part is that they scream and shout for human rights and religious freedom for Tibet but they themselves do not give this same freedom they demand to their own people. This is by far the most hypocritical government I have encountered and what is sickening is that they have been doing this for over 50 years and they are still doing this and people are still donating and supporting their evil deeds of suppression and dictatorship. It is not democratic, it is very the same as communism, and how the world failed to see this as they have been taken for a very long ride of deception.

And yes I agree with what Pastor Henry said “Why call us names, tell lies and hurl accusations yet keep the sponsorship? Why use our “dirty” money SINCE we are “dirty”? Why is it wrong to do our spiritual practice just because the Dalai Lama said so? With due respect since when is H.H. the Dalai Lama everyone’s leader and we must all follow? Sorry to say this but I would not even have the respect and faith for His Holiness if it wasn’t for my Guru’s nurturing me and explaining to me what a holy, compassion, attained, enlightened being He is and Rinpoche still has these same respect and faith in His Holiness, which is why we have maintained our respect toward His Holiness in the midst of this illogical ban.

It is high-time the Tibetan leadership take ownership of their own failures and stop blaming others, stop blaming a so called “ghost” (what they claim Dorje Shugden to be) and that funnily all the high Lamas including Dalai Lama cannot subdue?! Make me think, so what’s the point in taking refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha when this so called Shugden spirit is more harmful/powerful and can disturb and harm you? So much illogical reasons, and the worst part is so many Westerners who are supposedly people who can “think” are not thinking and just join in the band wagon and discriminate Shugden people. WHY? This is the part I do not get and all they can say is because the Dalai Lama said so. They don’t even bother to investigate and find out the truth and interview the people who are experiencing the discrimination. How amazing is this.

I truly truly hope more and more people will come out, speak out and tell the truth and perhaps change their leaders to one that truly cares for the people, that is for the ALL their people irregardless of their race or religion. Tibetans should speak up more about the injustice they experience because truth is H.H. is not going to live forever and they cannot keep relying on His fame to seek aid and funds. One day soon it will all end.

While reading this article from Rinpoche, it is obvious to me he was mostly raised in the USA. Even though America isn’t exactly known as the spiritual epicenter of the world, it does offer other great values such as freedom. In situations such as this w do NOT do as we are told, our country was based on political and religious freedoms. Daily I can attend service by different religions and that’s acceptable with no significant repercussions. And I can register to different political parties each year with voting rights if I so choose. I have total religious freedom or as close as it gets on this planet.
Rinpoche is straddling two worlds, one of political and religious freedom and the other with the most profound religion in my opinion that does not encompass international political expansion and growth.
Hopefully some day soon the Tibetan government in exile will study and embrace democracy.
I am so sad and sorry for the grief Rinpoche experiences, may it all turn around and blossom into enlightenment.

  41. Pastor Henry Ooi on Mar 6, 2017 at 11:04 am

I was present when Tsem Rinpoche offered donations to the monasteries from kind sponsors. The monasteries welcomed us with much respect and reverence. Now that we’re labelled as a cult, China-paid spies, traitors, anti Dalai Lama, pigs, demon worshippers, and other vulgar and vile names, Tsem Rinpoche suddenly is no more the hero but the villain. It’s like watching a movie drama. All this because we choose to practice Dorje Shugden. Why call us names, tell lies and hurl accusations yet keep the sponsorship? We use our dirty money? Why is it wrong to do our spiritual practice just because the Dalai Lama said so? Buddhists are not theists but why do anti Shugden people behave so because of one man’s so called ‘advice?’ Do they not dedicate their merit to Dorje Shugden practitioners but to the rest of sentient beings?

The Tibetan leadership just had to have a smoke screen, a cover to hide their failure. The failure of the promise they made to Tibetans that they will return to their motherland Tibet. What a lame excuse.

  42. Paul Paul on Mar 6, 2017 at 10:54 am

Everyone deserve the rights to practising whichever religion they like. Unless you are born in a Terrorist community or Communist country, they denied your rights and you are forced to follow their policy.

Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), also referred to as the Tibetan Government in Exile, is an organisation based in India with the stated goals of “rehabilitating Tibetan refugees and restoring freedom and happiness in Tibet. The administration officers in CTA are made up of lay person.

Surprisingly this organisation is splitting their own people and community by imposing BAN on Dorje Shugden practitioners, this practice has been passed down few generations by high lama like Pabongka Rinpoche, Trijang Rinpoche and Zong Rinpoche. CTA has further organised activities to assaults monks, nuns, lay persons and children who is practising and associating with this practice.

Tibetan are largely made up of Buddhist Community, Buddhist are known all the while for their kind, compassionate soft approaches. However their temporary government so called the CTA has proofed this otherwise.

We call for International Attentions and putting pressures on CTA to cease this issues immediately.

We are calling for International Human Rights Organisation and Medias to expose this inhuman and barbaric action and policy.

Venerable Ajahn Chah was a Thai Buddhist teacher of the Buddhadhamma and a founder of two major monasteries in the Thai Forest Tradition. Well respected and loved as a man of great wisdom, he was also instrumental in establishing Theravada Buddhism in the West. Interesting life story, how he chose to leave the settled monastic life and became a wandering ascetic. Walking across Thailand, lived in forests, caves and cremation grounds while learning from the meditation monks of the Forest of various monasteries. He wandered through the countryside in quest of quiet and secluded places for developing meditation. He even lived in tiger and cobra infested jungles, using reflections on death to penetrate to the true meaning of life. After years of wandering, Venerable Ajahn Chah established a monastery where he taught simple, practice-based form of meditation, and attracted a numerous of students including western foreigners. He was one of the greatest Dhamma teachers of the modern era. His wise teachings have continued to guide thousands of people along the path of Dharma. Venerable Ajahn Chah’s teachings of the Thai Forest Tradition gradually spread across all over the world. Several of Ajahn Chah’s Western students have since established monasteries throughout the world. Just in Thailand itself, there are more than 300 branch monasteries in Ajahn Chah’s tradition. Ven erable Ajahn Chah used his ill health as a teaching point, emphasizing that it was a living example of the impermanence of all things and reminded people to endeavour to find a true refuge within themselves. The legacy of Venerable Ajahn Chah’s teachings and legacy continues into the modern age.

Wonderful blog written on the practice of Kalarupa for us to understand better. As an emanation of Manjushri, Kalarupa’s practice helps us to destroy ignorance and to develop wisdom overcoming our anger and suffering . Awesome Kalarupa manifested in multiple forms to help sentient beings who personifies enlightenment by the conquest of anger. Kalarupa also regard as one of the three main Dharma protectors of the Gelugpa is extremely fierce and ugly, and tames all kinds of spiritual ugliness. The fierceness of his iconography teaches us to remind ourselves that all the causes and effects of anger arising from ignorance are dreadful and distorted.

Nepal is a very spiritual country, having a huge Dorje Shugden mural in Kathmandu, is indeed a big achievement for Kechara. Located on Charkhal Road in Dilli Bazaar, the mural can be found midway between our two Dorje Shugden chapels which are in Putalisadak and Chabahil. It is also very close to one of Kathmandu’s largest shopping malls. Many locals , tourist will be able to connect them to a powerful deity that is so closely associated with their culture. Well the mural not only beautiful but also full of symbolism and everyone merely by seeing it is blessed. Thanks to those talented artists and generous sponsors making it a success.

All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on. Letting go helps us to live in a more peaceful state of mind and helps restore our balance. A reminder for us all to go of attachment and meditating on impermanence and emptiness. We are to relinquish the domination of our ego and its habits to transform ourselves. A great reminder not to waste our previous life.

We are members of the Buddhist Temple in Taman Desa Jaya, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur and we have been issued membership by the president (DATUK YIP KUM FOOK), we are very sad because we are the foundation of this Temple

Now we can know who is always messing with people, and he always cheats money and women, he even uses Buddhism to find money.

Also, need to be careful with his brother-in-law (Simon Low Kok Meng) because he is a spy (CID) for DATUK YIP KUM FOOK and we will write some letters to AGONG SULTAN IBRAHIM IBN ALMARHUM SULTAN ISKANDAR as soon as possible.

The matriarchal cultures of the grandmothers have specific symbolism of animism shamanism, such as the horse, especially the blue horse, and the deer. These are two main symbols of a shaman woman and you can find them in many cultural folk lore, especially the Russian, Slavic, Siberian, Nordic, Finland, and Norway. It’s nice to see the Matriarchal Shaman Animism diety represented in Chinese.

An inspiring act of a selfless Lama feeding strays whether its night or day. Truly an example for us all to feed those lonely strays . Yes I do agree compassion starts with feeding strays. Reading this blog again to refresh myself to do more. Strays animals generally lead a life of poor welfare on the street. Feeding strays is a compassionate act.

H E Tsem Rinpoche’s Sungbum project aim to preserve the teachings and practices that have been passed from teacher to disciple in an unbroken line beginning with Lama Tsongkhapa himself . History has taught us the importance of preserving Buddha’s stainless teachings. Its important to preserve and safeguard the Buddhist tradition for future generations.
Tsem Rinpoche is a clear and effective teacher where his stories and teachings are endlessly entertaining and inspiring. The preservation is very much needed. We are so fortunate given a chance to be involved in such a meritorious project .
    Thank you.

Demons are disembodied spirits, supernatural being or spirit and unseen beings. We know they do exist and I believe they do. They have no physical form to them whatsoever. Demons do definitely exist. They are intelligent beings who are evil malicious spirits and are all dangerous entities. Valak is not to be summoned capriciously by anyone as they are dangerous beings when we invoke them having to face a heavy consequence. There are spiritual practices that we can ask for help a ritual of the wrathful Manjushri in the form of Trakze. Having a doing the practice daily without fail, consistently, as this Trakze practice has been proven to be efficacious to break the hold the Valak and other spirits. All thanks to our Guru bringing this practice to Kechara Forest Retreat, Bentong Malaysia.
Thank you Rinpoche for this wonderful sharing for us to understand better.

Wow ,reading all these powerful quotes had me realised much better of giving even I have little. May H E Tsem Rinpoche’s sincere advice to reach the far shore of liberation to everyone reading this blog. The most truly generous people are those who give silently without asking any in return. There is no exercise better than reaching and lifting people up. A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal. Well creating and lighting for others we naturally light our own way. Helping others especially those unfortunate ones, make us feel more positive about our own circumstances.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing all these powerful quotes.

Lama Tsongkhapa was an influential Tibetan Buddhist monk, philosopher and tantric yogi, whose activities led to the formation of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism . Lama Tsongkhapa was hailed as the second Buddha by contemporary Buddhist masters of his time. Famous for reviving Buddhism in Tibet and revered for elevating the Dharma to all its present glory. Hence having a 12 ft Lama Tsongkhapa Statue at new Kechara Gompa (Prayer Hall) is indeed a blessing. Its truly beautiful. Merely by looking at it is a blessing .
Thank you Rinpoche and team effort making it possible.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

One the day of Losar (new lunar year), it is always beneficial for Buddhist practitioners to get together in making abundant offerings to Buddhas on the altar to usher in goodness, prosperity and well-being of our loved ones. It's more auspicious this year as Losar and the Chinese New Year begin on the same date, 10th Feb, 2024. Back in Penang, our Kechara members came together to decorate the altar with abundance offerings for Dorje Shugden puja @3pm. Kechara Penang Study Group by Jacinta.

Umze for the day was Siew Hong. She's just been with us for slightly more than a year now but she's proven her capability in leading the puja. Our Penang group members are so proud of her and her commitment in attending the weekly puja. Despite being eloquence and smart, she has beautiful chant as well. When she leads, make sure you are there to hear her chant for yourself! Kechara Penang Study Group by Jacinta.

Dharma sharing by Hue before we proceeded with DS puja & Rinpoche Swift Return puja. Hue is one of the long time Kechara Penang members and he comes to puja regularly. He shared that he truly believes that Dorje Shugden and Rinpoche always there guiding him. He shared how sometimes DS will give him hints to avert troubles ahead or to alert him when he 'misbehaved'. Hope many will come to know more about this powerful Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden aka DS. Having Dorje Shugden is like having a powerful ally that will protect us day and night. Just trust Him and have faith. Kechara Penang Study Group, 25/11/2023 by Jacinta.
