Introduction

Trakze

Spirits definitely exist. In the Buddhist cosmology as described by the historical Buddha Shakyamuni, spirits are beings that belong to one of the Six Realms of existence within samsara. While people often feel skeptical about the existence of spirits, modern technologies capable of detecting these formless beings are slowly changing opinions about the ever-presence of these supernatural beings.

Unlike animals and humans who share the same ‘form’ realm of existence, spirits exist within the formless realm. Beings that take rebirth in the formless realm can exist for thousands of years, and one of the main causes of taking rebirth there is strong unpurified ‘attachments’. It is our attachment to something, resulting from our projections onto certain objects and subjects, that drives us to take rebirth in the spirit world, a realm with great suffering and metaphorically described as ‘An existence where one’s thirst is unquenchable’.

It is important to understand that like all sentient beings trapped within the uncontrolled cycle of existence in samsara, spirits are similarly trapped by their karma. Although they can exist for thousands of years, they still have a ‘lifespan’ which means they are mortal and cannot live forever. Once the karma which dragged them into the spirit world expires, they will fade and take rebirth in another existence.

Spirits have no definitive form and can come in all shapes, sizes, forms, colors and temperaments. Some spirits can be benevolent, while some are malicious. Sometimes, due to certain circumstances, spirits from the formless realm intersect with our realm. It is during these moments when we ‘cross paths’ with the spirit that it becomes an opportunity for the spirit to attach itself to us.

There are many ways how a spirit can attach itself to us, and some of the most common methods are:

  1. Through an object. In some cultures which have a history of believing in spirits, it is an unsaid rule that antique items or objects with a long history are to be handled with caution.
  2. A place or location. This explains why some places are haunted. Spirits that haunt certain spaces can create disturbances when they share a common space with human beings.
  3. Through black magic. A spirit can be sent to us in the form of black magic. In such cases, the spirit infestation can manifest in the form of calamities.

Although spirits abide in a non-tangible existence, which means they are formless; they have the ability to move tangible objects. Therefore, there are several ways to identify if we are haunted by a negative being. Some common or “classic” symptoms of spirits and spirit infestations are:

  • Unusual electrical occurrences, such as the blinking of lights, electronic items turning on and off by themselves, or even short circuits when the spirit is spoken about.
  • Unusual series of accidents that occur one after the other.
  • Episodes of consistent negative dreams.
  • Feeling the presence of a spirit in the room. For example, there is a sense of being watched or touched.
  • Personal belongings disappearing, moving or breaking on its own.

Recognizing that spirits do exist and their ability to cause harm (and in some severe cases, death), one must develop the clarity of mind to identify and confirm spirit infestation and take corrective measures. Sometimes it is easy to get paranoid and blame everything that does not go well in life on spirits, therefore careful observation is necessary to confirm spirit infestation. For example, a person experiencing the symptoms listed above may think they are schizophrenic, but there is a possibility that it is caused by a spirit. In this case, taking schizophrenia medications will not help the situation.

General Protection

In Buddhism, the most simple, powerful and instantaneous method of protection from spirits is to take refuge in the Three Jewels. Taking refuge in the Three Jewels is to develop faith in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Formally, taking refuge involves taking vows and the vows taken depend on the school or tradition of Buddhism. It is important to read and understand the refuge vows and realize the Buddha who is free from all fears is the perfect object of refuge. When we take refuge in the Buddha, we practice the dharma and we respect the sangha, we are protected from many different types of spirit.

A very good example to illustrate the effectiveness of the Three Jewels’ protection against spirits is the story of Guru Rinpoche, a great Buddhist master who subdued countless fierce and malicious spirits that plagued Tibet. Through his example and many other examples of recent masters we can have confidence in the Three Jewels to protect us from spirit harm as well.

However, in certain cases, some people have “special” karmic affinity to certain types of harm and formless beings. This karmic affinity enables the spirits to “break through” the refuge protection and cause harm. Therefore, for people with such karmic affinity with a spirit, they will experience harm even if they have taken refuge in the Three Jewels.

In other cases, some people may use certain methods to contact beings from another realm. This practice is very dangerous as we can never be sure if the spirit contacted is malevolent or not. Sometimes, if the spirit that was called upon is strong and malicious, it can stay around to cause harm.

One may question: Why can’t the Three Jewels protect these individuals who have certain karmic affinity with a certain type of spirit? Although one has taken refuge and is under the protection of the Three Jewels, there is still the individual karma that is very strong and directly determines outcomes.

For illustration purposes, let’s refer to more familiar situations: Even though one is protected by the Three Jewels, one can still fall sick, experience calamities and tragedies and suffer emotional ups and downs, and death due to the karma accumulate as a consequence of the actions of the body, speech and mind. In such cases, one may engage in certain spiritual practices or request for pujas of a specific deity to be performed, for example, Medicine Buddha practice, whose energy is specifically targeted for healing.

Therefore, when experiencing the fruition of karma, one should not simply claim that the Three Jewels are not giving protection. The Three Jewels give protection for the short and long-term. For short-term protection, the Three Jewels grant the teachings of the Dharma to enable practice that eliminate all causes of suffering. For the long term protection on the other hand, the Three Jewels bless us to take rebirth in places and situations where Dharma practice is conducive.

When Special Protection is Required

In cases where there is this “special” karmas that create affinity with certain spirits, and harm and affliction is still being experienced, the practice of Dorje Shugden can be done for protection.

Dorje Shugden manifests in five forms for different purposes. Aside from the principal manifestation, he has four other recognized emanations, each with their specific functions. All five forms of Dorje Shugden are complete objects of refuge and protection although they have different emanated function.

Out of the five forms of Dorje Shugden, Trakze also known as Karma Shugden is the most wrathful emanation of Dorje Shugden. His practice is especially efficacious for overcoming powerful delusions and very negative, harmful energies.

Trakze Practice

The practice of Trakze will not only eliminate spirits but also eliminate unnatural disasters, problems and difficulties. Trakze is also suitable for protection for long journeys. He will also offer protection from people’s negative speech, negative mantras, spells or charms as well as sudden death or ill-fated, fatal accidents. So, this form of Dorje Shugden is very powerful.

Setting up an Altar

Trakze altar. Click on image to enlarge.

Altar set up:

  1. A Buddha image or statue
  2. A Trakze image or statue
  3. A Dharma text
  4. A Stupa
  5. One set of Sensory Offerings (Optional) (From left to right – Water, water, flower, incense, light, perfume, food, and a conch shell)
  6. One set of water offerings (Optional)

An altar is an important component of the practice of Buddhism, as it serves as a reminder of our practice objectives – which is to develop qualities in ourselves so we may be able to help all sentient beings. This is the spiritual benefits of having an altar. For those who practice Trakze specifically to counter spirit disturbances, the benefit of having an altar with the image of Trakze is by itself a form of protection.

An altar can be set up anywhere except inside the washroom. To develop the view that the enlightened beings on the altar are present before us, it is appropriate to always show respect in front of the altar. Therefore, if an altar is set up in the bedroom, it is encouraged to cover it when engaging in activities that are private in nature.

An ideal altar would consist of all six items listed above. However, at the very least, the altar should hold an image of Trakze and, with time, one can add the remaining items when available. How complete our altar reflects how seriously we take the practice of Trakze in order to counter our problems. Therefore, just like anything, the amount of effort placed into the practice reflects the results of the practice.

“Extra touches” can be added to the altar. One set of water offerings with seven to eight cups can be arranged in front of the altar with clean water filled to about the length of one grain of rice from the brim. A set of wrathful offerings which symbolizes the offering of one’s negative karma, can be neatly arranged behind the water offerings.

Taking Refuge

Video on How to Do Prostrations:

The practice begins with the recitation of the refuge formula three times. In this case, one is taking refuge in Lama Tsongkhapa – the Guru and Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha.

When reciting the refuge formula, visualize Lama Tsongkhapa surrounded by his eight main disciples strongly at eye level. If this visualization is too difficult and advanced at the beginning, one can start by visualizing just two of his main disciples, Khedrup-je Rinpoche and Gyelsab-je Rinpoche. Envision them sitting in Ganden Heaven on their thrones adorned with jewels that are glittering. All three are smiling, happy and warmly sending down their blessings.

Lama Tsongkhapa and his two main disciples

Visualize a virulent, powerful, tumultuous, and black-grey cloud – with very strong sounds like thunder and lightning surrounded by all types of virulent and wrathful animals such as vultures and eagles. In the midst of this dark cloud is Trakze, in the form as visualized above. In his heart, there is a sun disc on which is a syllable letter “Hung”, red in color. From the letter “Hung”, light emanates out into the 10 directions to invite all the Buddhas, Boddhisattvas and deities, and dissolves back into the “Hung”, the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and deities becomes one with Trakze in nature and become firm in front of you. Now Trakze embodies the complete Three Jewels within his form. So anything done to Trakze is the same as if you have done to all the Three Jewels. The visualized Trakze is the samaya being, and the Trakze invited from within Tsongkhapa’s throne is the wisdom being. When they combine, they become one and inseparable. So you should believe that the real wisdom being Trakze is in front of you now. It is important to believe that. Then, visualize Trakze in this very virulent and powerful storm swept cloud surrounding Trakze, emanated from below Lama Tsongkhapa’s throne, remains connected to Trakze. This signifies the source of blessing is from Lama Tsongkhapa and we are connected to Gaden Heaven.

The Four Immeasurables

The Four Immeasurables are recited to establish good motivation that all practice done to protect oneself does not harm any other being, including the beings that are causing harm to you.

The premise on which The Four Immeasurables are practiced is that ‘everyone wants to be happy, but happiness cannot be achieved in isolation‘. In fact, happiness depends upon the happiness of all, revealing that all life is interdependent. In order to be happy, one needs to cultivate wholesome attitudes towards others in society and towards all sentient beings.

Therefore, the best way of cultivating wholesome attitudes towards all sentient beings is through contemplative meditation on the Four Immeasurables, which cultivates loving-kindness, compassion, appreciative joy and equanimity towards an immeasurable number of sentient beings.

The practice of Four Immeasurables is also a powerful antidote to negative mental states such as anger and pride.

Guru Yoga of Lama Tsongkhapa

After completing the Four Immeasurables, proceed to the Guru Yoga of Lama Tsongkhapa. When reciting the Migtsema mantra (at least 21 times) with this visualization as guided above (described at ‘Taking Refuge’), it is important to develop the thought and faith that Trakze (in 3-Dimension / 3D) is in front of you, all-powerful and protective. Upon completing the Guru Yoga of Lama Tsongkhapa, move on to recite Dorje Shugden’s prayers.

Dorje Shugden’s Prayers – Kanshag

Introduction

Kanshag to Dorje Shugden is a very powerful practice to remove our obstacles. In the case of black magic and spirit infestations, Kanshag is specifically effective to purify the negative karma that has created the causes for one to experience this affliction.

Karma Shugden (Trakze). Click on image to enlarge and right click to ‘save image’ high definition photo for print out.

The Kanshag prayers may sound very violent and rough. However this is not unique to Dorje Shugden practice. It is also a common feature in other Dharma Protector prayers such as Kalarupa, Palden Lhamo, Mahakala and many others. Therefore, to the ignorant, or one who does not have a qualified master to explain the significance of such wrathful manifestations in the prayers, one may wrongfully feel repelled or recite it only based on faith. While reciting the Kanshag based purely on faith is acceptable, it is however better when we do our practices with a certain level of awareness so that the practice is more effective. Once we realize that this wrathful manifestation by the Kanshag came into existence purely from Dorje Shugden’s pure compassion for all sentient beings, we will learn to appreciate and value the practice with great devotion.

In visualizing the purifying of one’s negative karma through Kanshag, we must first understand that the human figures depicted in this visualization are not human beings as we know. These human-like figures are without sentience and are the negative qualities that cause us to continuously create negative karma, such as jealousy, anger, ignorance, attachments and more. Because these negative qualities are not tangible, we visualize them as representative-beings in human-like form in order for Trakze and entourage to slay these negative qualities for us.

The Manifestation of Our Karma

Behind Trakze stands a massive and wrathful bone palace (Rubey Gyi Phodrang). Surrounding the bone palace is virulent weather. Thick, heavy dark clouds accompanied with thunder, lightning, rain and storm. Flying around aimlessly in this bad weather are violent animals – vultures and hawks – with eyeballs emerging from their mouths. Dragons, flying amongst the clouds, signifying the scary and fierce lightning.

The lands surrounding the palace are violent mountains. The jagged, rough and treacherous tracks of the mountain can easily claim one’s life. The dangers of these mountains are magnified with the presence of scary animals – Garudas, wild mad elephants, lizards, alligators, snakes, scorpions – and anything scary and violent is present, roaming all over the place. The stench of corpses fills the air of the dark, dangerous mountains.

From the violent mountains flows the endless treacherous river of blood that is described like the sacred river Ganges. The blood-filled river and its tumultuous flow within the field, with jagged and dangerous rocks by the river that is plagued by wild, vicious animals. Between these dangerous blood-river arises flames and thick smoke, with countless of corpses surfaced on the bloody river.

Everything within this vast space was manifested through the compassion of Dorje Shugden. Because we are unable to fathom how much accumulated negative karma we have collected from many lifetimes, Dorje Shugden manifests this grotesque field to show us our accumulated negative karma in a way we can relate and understand. The fearsome and scary beings, environment and conditions shown to us are meant to make us realize that this is the fate we will have to face if we do not do practices to purify our karma. In this practice, Dorje Shugden, his manifestations and entourage descends upon it to cause great destruction on this horrible field of negativity, thus purifying our negative karma.

Entering Dorje Shugden’s Protective Mandala

gateway1

When you recite the Kanshag, the door into Dorje Shugden’s mandala, which is usually guarded by Kache Marpo, opens. The grotesqueness within the palace doors are all manifested by Dorje Shugden, to purify our karma which leads to our eventual liberation.

The Descent of Trakze and Entourage to Purify Karma

Amidst this dreadful weather and landscape is the abode of Trakze, residing in a wrathful bone palace. The wrathful bone palace is decorated with human bones and flesh. Here, we see human bone ornaments, flayed human skin used as victory banner floating in the smoky wind, and human skin hung inside the palace like curtains.

The elaborately decorated palace with bones and flayed skin signifies the many materials Trakze has collected through his work of liberating sentient beings. It also symbolizes his great ability and potential of liberating countless beings. Thus, Trakze’s palace is filled with bones and all things perceived as gruesome because he collects and accepts everyone’s negative karma and sufferings.

When we offer our negativity in this form to the Buddhas to slay, it is something that we perceive as ugly. However to the Buddhas, their main objective is to free us from our negativities. Therefore these negativities are presented and transformed as the ultimate offering of a spiritual practitioner. Therefore, once Trakze has slain these negativities (which we visualize in the form of a being), he uses the bones and the skin as decorations for his abode, to celebrate our liberation from these undesired qualities.

The bone palace is also represents Tong Len (the practice of taking other’s suffering and giving one’s merits over to them) in visual tantric form. This means that Trakze will take all the bad karma from you. He will live in this dreadful environment and violent conditions manifested by our negative karma so that we do not have to.

The Nine Wisdom Mothers are not physically alluring, but manifest as fearsome ogresses with scary fangs, talons, with long fingernails and toenails. They appear as these nine frightening beings, running amok and creating havoc. The nine mothers are cutting, pulverizing, slicing, chopping, ripping, scratching and clawing at our negative karma, destroying it.

The Eight Guiding Monks are not calm and quiet; yet they manifest the realizations of acquiescence or contemplation in a wrathful manner. Instead, they are running around in very “un-monkly” ways, performing violent acts and wrathful rituals to subdue sentient beings.

The Ten Youthful and Wrathful Assistants are emanated from the ‘limbs’ of the principle deity, in this case Trakze. These ten assistants manifest in their most wrathful form as terrifying beings – in order to activate purification quickly to remove sufferings, with chains and ripping our inner and outer obstacles apart.

Therefore, when we recite the Kanshag, we are requesting Dorje Shugden and entourage to destroy our accumulated negative karma through their violent and wrathful ways. We are purifying the karma which not only causes us physical harm but also mental sufferings. Traditionally, wrathful methods have always been quicker. It is for this reason that Dorje Shugden’s practice, when done well, can clear our obstacles to fulfilling our wishes quickly. Thus he is known to aid us swiftly.

Kanshag Visualization

Visualize the wrathful environment which is the manifestation of our negative karma. In this space, a massive human-like figure, huge as a mountain, manifests before you. This human-like figure is all of our negative karma and negative qualities that hinder our spiritual growth.

Visualize Trakze and his wrathful entourage descending onto this human-like figure and dismembering it, forming countless complete sets of wrathful offerings.

The wrathful offering consists of:

  1. Argham’ (tea) – visualize all the blood from the being is emptied into the first bowl and offered up.
  2. Phupe’ (wrathful flower) – visualize the skull overturned. In the skull is placed the heart. On the heart are the eyes, ears, tongue and nose; all symmetrically arranged on the heart.
  3. Duphe’ (incense) – visualize the bones of the body are taken and burned. The smoke arising from this is offered to Trakze.
  4. Aloke’ (light) – visualize all the fat of the body taken out and made into a butterlamp and offered up to Trakze.
  5. Gyende’ (perfume) – visualize all the remaining liquids in the body such as urine, bile, pus and others, emptied into a bowl and offered up.
  6. Niweide’ (food) – visualize all the flesh of the body being cut up and offered.
  7. Shapta’ (sound) – visualize the thighbone carved into a wind instrument, as an offering to Trakze.

Upon ending the Kanshag prayer, visualize that all these negative manifestations have been destroyed by Trakze and entourage. The visualization of purification is in wrathful, gory form as a training for us not to be attached or repulsed to pleasant and unpleasant. It is another method in which renunciation is meditated upon by seeing our bodies arising from negative karma pulverize, smashed and destroyed as in the Chod teachings. This practice may be visual and wrathful in nature but it is all in the spirit of Buddhist renunciation, as when the Thai monks meditate in cemeteries or in front of bones and skulls to actualize detachment from our bodies in which we have false view of its permanence and thereby invest in inordinate time, energy and resources – when in the end it fails us with death. Renunciation is an extremely powerful component in our meditations to actualize in order that our Dharma practice becomes genuine. This necessity to actualize renunciation is pervasive in all three Yanas of Buddhism. (End of visualization)

Wrathful Flower Offering.

This is the wrathful flower offering made when reciting Kanshag. It is a very powerful practice that is related to “Chod” which cuts away the attachment to the body. Some find it difficult to understand the reason behind offering such vile and “dirty” substances to the Buddha. However, the vileness is perceived by the tainted mind. In this case, the Buddha does not have the karma to perceive harm or accept anything dirty in nature. Therefore, whatever items (be it visualized or actual) offered up to them will be transformed into pleasant, beautiful gardens and pools of delight.

Therefore, when making these offerings while reciting the Kanshag, we are purifying the karma that we have accumulated from many lifetimes. The Kanshag should be recited as many times as possible but as a guideline, it can be recited three, seven or 21 times during each prayer session, depending on the potency of the affliction. The Kanshag recitation together with visualization is a very powerful method for purifying immediate negative karma. The more Kanshags we can recite with visualization of Trakze, the more immediate the results. 100,000 Kanshag recitations are sometimes done by the assembly of monks in unison over a few days because it is so effective. No negative repercussion can ever arise from reciting Kanshag of Trakze or any other Dharma protector.

Torma

After reciting Kanshag, it is beneficial to make offerings of torma to the Dharma Protector.

Making traditional torma: The maker wears a mask to protect the “cleanliness” of the torma from our breath (which is considered impure).

Tormas are ritual cakes made mostly from flour and butter that are used as offerings in Tibetan Buddhist rituals. Tormas come in various shapes and sizes, according to their purpose but they are usually in conical form. They can be dyed in different colors depending on the practice for which the torma is being made. Tormas are most commonly found in white and red. H.H. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche mentioned it will not be practical for non-monastics to offer traditional tormas. So he said it will be fine to offer things we like to eat for example cookies and biscuits. If we are travelling or in a hotel, plane or train, we can still do the Trakze practice without any of the offerings, just the recitation and visualization. We should make do with time, place and circumstances to the best of our abilities. Sincerity, trust and faith in our practice to Trakze will definitely bear results.

A simpler altar set up. For practitioners that are not able to make tormas traditionally, one can use jars filled with cookies to replace the tormas.

For regular practitioners who are not trained to make the traditional form of tormas, the tormas can be represented with a glass bottle, filled with cookies. If one wishes to make torma offerings throughout the practice, the following tormas can be prepared:

  1. One large jar filled with biscuits (torma offerings to Lama Tsongkhapa)
  2. One large jar filled with biscuits (torma offerings to Trakze)
  3. One smaller jar filled with biscuits (torma offerings to Trakze’s entourage)

However, if time is limited, the torma offering can be optional. The tormas (biscuits) are in jars simply to prevent insects from getting into them. You can offer the tormas on plates, bowls or cups and discard them in a clean place at the end of the puja/prayer. If you are in an apartment, you can simply eat the tormas as a blessing or if you don’t want to eat them, it can be wrapped in a paper and then discard it in the garbage.

Black Tea Offering (Serkyem)

The practice is also called Golden Drink Offering or Serkyem, which forms a central part of the Dorje Shugden Kangsol. This practice was developed as an extended offering to the Dharma Protector to request for swift assistance. Hence, the Serkyem offering has become popular and it is commonly practiced among modern practitioners to request for swift assistance, especially in times of dire need. Traditionally, tea is used as an offering. However other beverages like milk or even carbonated drinks can be used as a replacement.

A traditional Serkyem set

The Serkyem offering is traditionally offered by pouring the beverage into a two-tiered vessel, which consists of a taller vessel placed into a lower bowl. If the Tibetan-style Serkyem ritual item (which is normally made of brass) cannot be obtained, one can replace it by using a tall glass (such as a wine glass) placed in a glass bowl.

During the offering, the beverage is poured from a pot or jug into the taller vessel until the liquid overflows down into the lower bowl. In Buddhism, the overflowing liquid is highly auspicious as a symbol of abundance of merits, virtues, material resources and conducive conditions for Dharma practice.

The beverage can either be poured fully into the vessel prior to the recitation of the Serkyem verses, or it can be poured a little at a time during the recitation of relevant passages throughout the liturgy. If the latter method is chosen, pour a little of the tea into the taller vessel so that you do not present an empty vessel to the Buddha. Before starting, consecrate the Serkyem by circling a lit incense three times clockwise around the Serkyem set while chanting the mantra ‘OM AH HUM‘.

While making the Serkyem offering, visualized the beverage as divine nectar that expands to fill an entire ocean which represents all the desirable things in the world that pleases the five senses.

Mantra Recitation

Once you complete the black tea (Serkyem) offering, recite the wrathful mantra of Dorje Shugden as a request for protection. Trakze’s mantra is “OM BENZA WIKI BITANA RAKYA RAKYA HUNG”. You can recite one, three, seven or as many malas of this mantra as you can. It is encouraged to recite as many mantras as possible. It is also essential that the practice is consistent and done daily until the affliction is completely resolved. Upon completion of the mantra recitation during each session, recite the Vajrasattva purification mantra for 21 times.

During mantra recitation, visualize the light from Trakze protecting and blessing you and Dorje Shugden surrounds you. Nothing can penetrate this protective shield while you are doing this mantra.

While reciting the mantra, visualize Dorje Shugden emanating himself into trillions of images of himself, going in the 10 directions: North, South, East, West, the intermediate directions, up and down. Dorje Shugden surrounds you and your environment with his emanations, offering you complete protection from spirits, harm, demerit or objects of demerit. Nothing can penetrate or get through this divine protection. Simultaneously, nothing can leave this protection, as Dorje Shugden safeguards your merits.

Then from the central image of Dorje Shugden, visualize that from the red “Hung” from the heart, various lights emanate into your body. The force of this light is very strong and powerful, washing over you. For illustration purposes, it would be as if you are standing under a waterfall. The water just washes over you completely, dispelling all the dirt on you.

Visualize the powerful dark red light coming from Dorje Shugden entering your heart. The light pervades your body completely, expelling all impurities through your orifices in the form of scorpions, snakes, insects and lizards. From your whole body, black substances are expelled and the inside of your body is left clean and crystal clear. Immersed and surrounded by Dorje Shugden’s red wisdom light, you are clean and purified.

You should feel very fresh and awake after doing this visualization. With this “clean” sensation, think: “My mind is in control. I am in control. No spirits will harm me, no interfering beings will harm me”. With this thought in mind and while reciting the mantra, do not dispel the spirit in a wrathful manner. Instead, develop compassion for them. They are causing you harm because, just like people who hurt you, they are suffering too.

The most important ingredient of this practice is to develop compassion for the spirit(s) that inflicts harm on you, as it is due to these spirits’ negative karma which compels them to create more negative karma through harming you. When you develop compassion for these beings, you will no longer need the ritual. It is said that when deep and sincere compassion is developed within your mind stream, the spirits will leave the moment they hear your voice because they are unable to harm a being with great compassion. Therefore, the most important ingredient for this practice is to have great compassion.

When you engage in this practice with compassion and recite the mantra together with the visualizations, your body, speech and mind are immersed in the protection of the practice. Your body is engaged as you are seated in meditation posture, your speech is immersed through the recitation of the mantra and your mind focused as you do the visualization. Thus, your body, speech and mind that are referred to as the three doors, which is the gateway for impurities to enter, are blocked.

Lama Tsongkhapa in the centre with Vajrayogini (left) and Setrap (right)

Dothey and Dedication

Before bringing the session to a close, it is good to recite the Dothey prayer, the praise to Dorje Shugden written by H.H. Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche. After you finish Dothey, visualize Trakze and Lama Tsongkhapa dissolving into you and recite dissolution verses. The Dothey also contains graphic words and exhortation to ‘kill the enemy‘, but the graphic verses are in reference to only symbology, not actually directed at sentient beings. In any Buddhist practice, no harm is inflicted on others by ritual, thought, meditation and action. The word ‘kill‘ in Dothey refers to the destruction of one’s own inner enemies which are ego, selfishness, miserliness, anger and hatred. So ‘kill the enemy‘ in Dothey may sound quite violent but it refers to the violence that we actually create emotionally to people around us. Due to this afflicted emotions, this practice is aimed at ‘killing off‘ those negative emotions within us or at least realizing – the enemy is within.

End the session with a short dedication. It is very important to make a compassionate dedication that the afflictive being be free and liberated. Then, do a dedication that you may be free and protected from affliction.

Additional Protection

Blessing Items for Protection

After you have recited the mantra, you can do a few things which are:

  1. Blow on some dry, plain, uncooked rice that is stored inside a clean container
  2. Blow on yourself
  3. Blow in a bottle of water

When you recite the mantra, which is the sound manifestation of the Buddha’s virtue, it said that your breath is fused with the positive energy of the mantra. Therefore you are transmitting this potent energy when you blow into these objects.

The water that has been blessed can be used to bathe your body or to drink in order to keep the spirits out. It can also be given to someone who is afflicted by spirits or black magic. The water can be sprinkled throughout the house or anywhere you feel the presence of an unseen entity.

The rice that has been blessed can be burnt in places that are afflicted. Therefore, if your house has an affliction, you can burn the rice, which is infused with the power of the mantra and is activated when burnt.

When blowing the mantra’s energy on yourself, the channels on your body which will be blocked and prevent any negative energy from entering are: your two eyes, two sides of the nostril, mouth, two ears, both of your ring fingers, anus and secret organ. These are the 11 places where spirits enter you if left unprotected. For extra caution, you can take a little bit of water and put it on these 11 areas. For the two lower orifices, you sprinkle the water in the front and back area and visualize that your two lower orifices are blocked.

(1, 2 and 3 are optional, we can just recite our mantra and end.)

Helping Friends

If a friend or family member is suffering from such afflictions, you can visualize your friend being protected within Trakze’s smoke, fire and thunder, with your friend standing facing Trakze and many blessed tumultuous red lights emanating from Trakze, absorbing into your friend and absolving him of all ills, afflictions and he is blessed with peace of mind. You can also do it simultaneously for a friend and oneself because there are no limitations of Trakze’s power.

You can also give them blessed water or rice so that they may use it to dispel negative energy in their environment. In some cases, some malicious spirits can begin to cause harm to those around you. If such a situation may occur, you can also include your whole family in your visualization to keep them safe.

Conclusion

Trakze is no other than Manjushri in a ferocious form, emanating to specifically counter obstacles and afflictive entities. In general, Trakze’s practice can purify an environment, bless one’s business, protect one’s home, and give blessings to loved ones, but the real purpose of Trakze’s practice is to be blessed in order to gain an understanding into the deeper teachings of Dharma and facilitate the mind training practices such as Lojong. Ultimately, Lord Manjushri can manifest in myriads of shapes, forms, and appearances, both animate and inanimate because an enlightened mind has no restrictions. Doing Trakze’s practice will bless us and our environment to help increase Dharma activities, energy, and facilitate attainment. The enlightened beings will manifest, re-manifest and again emanate according to time, place, circumstances and karmic affinity of the sentient beings they are benefiting.

Dorje Shugden and Setrap Murals (Tsem Monastery, Yara, Tibet). Click on image to enlarge.

So, Dorje Shugden’s practice is 400 years old and considered relatively new, because many now are in need of this type of emanation. Dorje Shugden’s affinity and his special ability to help beings will be recognized more widely in time. We may hold Dorje Shugden in any of his forms such as Trakze as our main Dharma Protector practice. Again, Dharma Protector is not our main practice but sometimes necessary to alleviate many daily problems we encounter. Once we trust and rely on a sublime being such as Dorje Shugden, as the years pass, we will see a special relationship develop and he will take care of us as a father for his only child.

Dorje Shugden’s compassion, wisdom and skillful means are unlimited as he is a fully enlightened Buddha, manifesting as a Dharma Protector. How fortunate we are to even hear his name and also to engage in his practice. Whether you are Buddhist or non-Buddhist, Gelug or any other school of Buddhism, poor or rich, male or female does not matter. People like to label Dorje Shugden as a Gelugpa protector but that is wrong because he is no other than Manjushri, and Manjushri cannot be pigeon-holed within only a Gelug framework.

True Dorje Shugen has a special affinity to Lama Tsongkhapa and his teachings because in one of his lives he was one of the 8 principle disciples of Lord Tsongkhapa. But even prior to Lama Tsongkhapa, he had incarnated as many great masters in Tibet, Nepal, India, and China. He was in fact one of the Qing Emperors of China named Kangxi. Kangxi had ushered in the age of Buddhism and Tsongkhapa’s teachings into the royal court of China and into China itself. The Qing dynasty emperors of China and their descendants are called Manchurians. According to Qing dynasty’s official historical record, the Researches on Manchu Origins; the ethnic name ‘Manchu’ came from Manjushri. The Qinglong Emperor also supported this claim on the origin of their ethnic name and wrote several poems on the subject.

Kangxi was known to be a benevolent emperor who ruled fairly and with compassion. During his reign, which was marked by peace and prosperity, the fields of literature, arts, dance, culture and religion would flourish throughout the empire. Click on image to enlarge.

His line of incarnations extend back to one of the 84 Mahasiddhas. Dorje Shugden’s blessings and protection will be bequeath on anyone who sincerely invokes upon his enlightened energy. Again I would like to stress he does not only assist Gelugpas and Buddhists, but anyone from any walks of life that need assistance. For example his practice was also prevalent within the Sakyas, where he manifested as riding on a black horse. If you believe otherwise, you are limiting the powers of an enlightened being. Dorje Shugden in any of his forms will assist anyone who sincerely requests his assistance. You do not need to be a Buddhist or go through any special rituals to receive his assistance. From the comfort of your home, you can download the daily practice I’ve included here and start immediately. Read the commentary carefully and thoroughly for your knowledge and understanding. Do not fear if you cannot do the visualizations or offerings ‘perfectly’ because Dorje Shugden is a Buddha and will not be ‘upset’ with anything lacking. Sincerity and consistency is the key. When you rely on Dorje Shugden consistently and over time you will have a powerful ally as your friend, assistance, protector and confidante. Trust Dorje Shugden all the way. No part of his practice can be harmful in any way. Hundreds of highly attained lamas from the Gelug and Sakya schools of Buddhism have relied on Dorje Shugden for 400 years. Many large monastic institutions as well as powerful lay practitioners were under the full protection of this divine protector. If you have come across this, it could be an indication you have strong affinity. Download the picture, print out and place on your shrine and start the practice. For those who are too young, ill or elderly and find doing the daily practice perhaps too taxing, they can keep a photo of Dorje Shugden or Trakze near them and simply recite his mantra. Again sincerity and faith are the keys. I sincerely wish all of you the best.

My team have worked very hard and for days together with me to bring this compilation to all of you. I, from my heart, thank my compassionate and hardworking team of great people whose sole purpose of assisting me is to bring you benefits. They are really great and kind people. We have many like them in Kechara I am honored to say. Thank you team very much!

I dedicate all merits to my team’s happiness, peace, growth and liberation. I also dedicate the merits that the great lineage holders of all traditions and all teachers who speak about peace, love and development of compassion have long lives and further success. It has been a tremendous honor, privilege and pleasure for me and my team to bring this extremely beneficial practice of Trakze for the first time here. I wish everyone supreme success, health, growth and liberation. May you come under the peaceful, wrathful, mystical and myriad forms of the supreme Manjushri in this and all future lives.

Sarva mangalam.

This was my second day of Trakze Practice.

My original purpose was to be free of spiritual disturbances. I often felt like there were hateful eyes constantly looking at me and following me around. My life was going on like shyt.

There was something different since the first time I did the Trakze sadhana. This may sound weird, but somehow I could sense a peaceful presence of someone whose heart had no hate, no ill-will; A fatherly love; Sincerity; plus numerous other positive traits that normal human being do NOT have.

How on earth could I sense all that? Was that some kind of telepathy?

Because I often have kileshas, intuitively I do not want this kind-hearted spirit spends too much time with me because I do not want him/her gets tainted.

Anyway, I highly recommend Trakze Practice.

Before started the Trakze prayer, I did as Rinpoche suggested by putting a stupa, a scripture, a picture of Trakze, Dulzin and Tsongkhapa, cookies, serkyem, water offering, sensory offerings on my home altar. There were also some statues of Buddha and Bodhisattvas on the altar. A month ago I bought from Vajrasecret holy rilbus of Tsem Rinpoche, protector rice, Dulzin Shugden tsatsa. I put them on my home altar before I prayed the Trakze sadhana.

My home altar is 80 cm high, but I sit on the floor facing the altar everytime I do Trakze prayer.

I want to add to my altar the five tsatsas of Dorje Shugden family + a small statue of Tsongkhapa. However, my home altar is quite small. Have to find a way.

The practice of the Three Jewels can eliminate all causes of suffering because we are being mindful in our body, speech and mind. We take back control to our life and create karma that benefit us, that’s how we get protection for long term, such as take rebirth in places where are able to connect with Dharma again.

An altar is more like a ritual thing but it serves as a empowering tool to help calm the mind through visualization. By looking at the statues and offerings, we are connecting to positive energy. We using affirmations to encourage ourselves, do self-reflections in daily life so that we can become a better person to serve others. During the Serkyem offering, the beverage visualized as divine nectar that expands to fill an entire ocean, it put that special feeling of gratitude to me.

I like the premise on which The Four Immeasurables which said “everyone wants to be happy, but happiness cannot be achieved in isolation”. Man is by nature a social animal, the final goal of working on ourselves are actually go back to the society and bond with others. A unforgettable quote from a scene in the movie Cloud Atlas has impact me so much, it says “We are bound to others, past and present, and by each crime and every kindness, we birth our future.” I agree happiness depends upon the happiness of all, we do impact on the lives of one’s life.

Trakze has the most wrathful form of Dorje Shugden, but it represents compassion. Symbolism in Tibetan Buddhism can be difficult to interpret. Like the bones and the skin at Trakze’s abode are to celebrate our liberation from undesired qualities. The Buddhas main objective is to free us from our negativeness.

How Trakze protect us from spirit is his compassion. He is teaching us to develop compassion to all sentient beings, especially the spirits. Why they are causing harm is because they are trap in their mind too, they are in suffering and need to be liberate. If we show them compassion and kindness, they will leave us and could not bear to hurt anyone. Trakze’s practice is so powerful. I also find that visualization has many benefits, by just visualize someone we care are being protected within Trakze’s smoke, fire and thunder, Trakze is blessings us through emanating tumultuous red lights. Folded hands to Trakze.

There is definitely an unseen spirit world all around us. Even though we are not able to see it or spirits it does not mean they do not exist. Spirits are beings trapped in a non-physical form in the lower realms.
Thank you Rinpoche and writers team for sharing this interesting and powerful practice of Trakze . Well it’s a very powerful practice for anyone been disturbed by spirits ,unseen beings and obstacles where someone had put a spell on them in their health and business matters. Known as black magic by some . Trakze’s practice and can be done daily for any of us who needs protection even if we are not afflicted by black magic and spirits. Interesting read with all the explanations,of how the practice should be done for us .
    Thanks again with folded hands.

Dorje Shugden is been a fully enlightened Buddha who manifests in five forms for different purposes. Trakze being one of the five forms of Dorje Shugden, which is the most wrathful emanation of Dorje Shugden. Thank you Rinpoche for teaching us how to do Trakze prayer to dispel negative energy. Buddha will emanate into different forms to help us solve the different problems we have in our life. For example, Dorje Shugden emanates into five different forms to help us, it depends on what our problem is then we invoke the specific form.

Dorje Shugden practice and the practice of his emanations are very effective for modern people because Dorje Shugden arose to help modern people. Dorje Shugden is a fairly new protector as his practice only has 400 years of history. Being a newly arose protector, it means he is more effective in dealing with modern problems.

Black magic has traditionally referred to the use of supernatural powers or magic for evil and selfish purposes . Those days I have heard of stories of black magic but do not understand much. They will use black magic when someone standing in their way, preventing them from fulfilling their dreams or getting what they want. Most the many magical practices and rituals were considered evil or irreligious and is used only for selfish reason.
Dorje Shugden is a fully enlightened Buddha, manifesting as a Dharma Protector. Many highly attained lamas from the schools of Buddhism have relied on Dorje Shugden for 400 years. Trakze is the most wrathful emanation of Dorje Shugden. Its a powerful practice and it will assist anyone who sincerely requests his assistance. Rinpoche and the writers team had complied and shared a commentary of the practice of Dorje Shugden Trakze to dispel black magic and spirits. Its has been beneficial and have had helped many people.
Thank you Rinpoche with folded hands for sharing this profound teachings.

    Dear friends,

Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.

You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.

Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.

May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

A Daily Request for Wealth, Peace and Protection

    Composed by H.E. Tsem Rinpoche

In the heavens there are myriad manifestations of the divine. All those manifestations specifically show us different aspects of divinity in order to be of benefit to all living beings. All the rupakaya forms of the divine have compassion, skillful means and wisdom. We invoke upon them whether we are happy, sad, down, lost, fulfilled, confused, empty, and during the whole range of emotions we constantly experience due to an untrained mind.

Understanding our nature, Great Wisdom Being Dorje Shugden, therefore all the more so, please hold us close to your bosom as an only child to a parent.

Though the manifestations of the divine need no offerings and gifts from us, we offer you supreme Manjushri Dorje Shugden a libation of tea, incense and mantras, in order to ask you to bless us, to be a part of our lives, to abide in our dwellings and to give us signs, omens and portents of both good and bad. When the negative arises, quell them immediately. Please increase the positive for my weary and worn mind as I lay my hopes in you.

When difficulties, problems and confusion arise, we ask you, who is but the culmination of all that is powerful, holy and omniscient to bless myself, family, loved ones, environment and even my pets. May I see wisdom, find hope, and be at peace.

I request you, O Divine Bhagavān Dorje Shugden, who wears a round dome hat and the three robes of a saffroned bhikshu, who wields a sword of liberty, justice and wisdom and clutches a wish-fulfilling jewel, who rides on a supreme lion of subjugation of all that is negative, to fulfill my wishes. I understand my wishes may not be the best, so I surrender to your wisdom for the outcome though it may not be what I have in mind. Please bless myself and everyone that we may enter into the supreme city of liberation.

Great Bhagavān Dorje Shugden, I request you sincerely from my heart to be a part of my life, bless my home, and grant me wisdom, solace and comfort, that I might be of service to others without agenda, and that I may focus out onto others and not be fixated on myself, creating more problems for all that I hold dear.

Bless me to become kinder, wiser, more compassionate, tolerant and very forgiving to all those who hurt and love me. In order to become close to you, Dorje Shugden, we must surrender the banal. We must abandon fixed views, projections and rigidity. Lastly, in my final moment when I leave this plane of existence, only the positive actions I have done will matter as everything and everyone will be left behind. Let me realise this and act upon this now! At this crucial moment, please may I have a vision of yourself, the powerful and merciful Dorje Shugden, to take me to where I may course in the sky to continue my journey of spiritual waxing.

I offer you saffron-coloured tea and my faith to fulfill my prayers and gain siddhis. By reciting your mantra, may healing, peace, love, long life, protection and perfect view of sunyata arise.

Mantra of fulfillment, peace and wisdom:

    OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SOHA

(It is good to recite this mantra daily as much as you like or your timing allows.)

I dedicate this supreme heartfelt prayer to the all-knowing Celestial and Supreme Protector Dorje Shugden, that I may quickly become a being of light, compassion, love and enlightenment.

Please play the audio included here to follow along with the prayer.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 assistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

For me, being an initiate in the Nyingma tradition, the premier Exorcist in all of Tibetan Buddhism is, of course Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava). Christ was known to have was exorcised spirits from individuals as mentioned in the New Testament. Padmasambhava however, exorcised entire countries, Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan and part of what is now Pakistan, specifically the Swat Valley which was once called Oddiyana. After him comes Vajrapani or Vajrapani, Hayagriva & Garuda. For me, while I can’t speak for anyone else, these wisdom energies are some very, very, serious, forgive me here for the slang, “ASSKICKERS” in any dimension, any world, physical or otherwise; and the Divine Feminine is not to be toyed with either, whether in Buddhism or Hinduism. Tara, Ekajati, Kali/Durga, the list is almost endless, all in addition to The Protectors Tsem Rinpoche has recommended and spoken about. Just remember: There is a lot of help “out there”, or rather, within.

Trakze, is so powerful and protective for people afflicted by spiritual issues. I recall that the previous Zong Rinpoche did Trakze practice at Gaden Monastery when the Chinese shelled Gaden in retaliation for the Dalai Lama escaping to India. Doing the Trakze practice, Zong Rinpoche managed to interrupt the artillery bombardment from the Chinese allowed many old, infirmed monks to escape from danger.

I have came across people who is severely disturbed by spirits, and facing great obstacles in their health and business. Tsem Rinpoche has kindly gave them this teaching and Dharma Protector, to help them purify their karma and obstacles. Honestly. i do find Trakze quite attractive looking, with the long standing hair, lots of ornaments on his body, and riding a garuda flying on the sky, he is like one of the most ferocious and super fast and powerful protector

This is such a wonderful change. People who take the time to research and think logically about the Dorje Shugden issue can easily see past the prejudice. I am seeing more and more of this shift away from blind hatred of an ancient and holy practice that has been maligned. Very happy for Suzy. Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you Rinpoche and the blog team for compiling and sharing the commentary and the practice of Dorje Shugden Trakze for the benefits of many people, especially for the new practitioners. After reading the entire article, the commentary on Trakze practice was clearly explained with accurate instructions and guidelines in order to enlighten us on the purpose of Dharma Protector’s practice especially Dorje Shugden and Trakze in this context. This commentary provides the comprehensive pictorial forms with details for our correct understanding and most importantly, this commentary able to assist in our visualization during the recitation of the prayer text and mantra with sincerity and pure motivation. I will continue to read this commentary over and over again to familiarize on the visualization and the description of the prayer text.

As Dorje Shugden is the manifestation of Buddha Manjushri, we can 100% be assured that Dorje Shugden’s practice will never give us any harm or negative imprints that can derail us from our spiritual practice. Furthermore, many high masters and lamas have been practising Dorje Shugden as their main Dharma Protector’s practice since 400 years ago until now. This is a long history record and strong evidence that Dorje Shugden can help us effectively in our Dharma practice and we need Dorje Shugden’s practice even more to counter our increasing negativity especially in this degenerate age. Dorje Shugden is the nearest enlightened Dharma Protector of our time and He can reach to us faster whenever we request sincerely for His help in the dire of time.

May all people who are practising Dorje Shugden will continue to spread the benefits and practice of Dorje Shugden to the 10 directions. May those who have yet to meet with Dorje Shugden will quickly hear and receive His practice and protection.

    Thank you with folded hands,

Trakze’s practice is especially efficacious for overcoming powerful delusions and very negative, harmful energies known as black magic and spirits to some of us.Its a powerful practice and it will assist anyone who sincerely requests his assistance.

Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa, Tibet

Over 400 years ago a great and learned lama Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was famed in Mongolia, Tibet, Nepal and China for being very saintly and compassionate. He resided in his residence (Zimkhang Gongma Ladrang) in Drepung Monastery. His root guru was H.H. the Omniscient 4th Panchen Lama and his close dharma brother was the 5th Dalai Lama.

The 5th Dalai Lama and Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen had a very close and dharmic relationship and often went to receive teachings together from the 4th Panchen Lama. They were close in age. They both became very learned and well known. During this time, the Dalai Lama was enthroned as a Dharma King of Tibet. But more people went to see Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen for teachings, initiations and divinations. This made the attendants of the 5th Dalai Lama feel threatened that Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s fame might usurp the power of the 5th Dalai Lama. So they had a khata forced down his throat. At that moment, Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen dissolved his psychic winds and generated the wish to be a great guardian of Buddha and Tsongkapa’s teachings. As his consciousness dissolved, he entered ‘bardo’ as a dharma protector of the highest order (jikten depey sungma). Many signs were seen throughout Lhasa at this time and the earth was said to have shaken in Lhasa. This event was already predicted to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s previous incarnation when he was one of the 8 main disciples of Lord Tsongkapa the Supreme Master and he served Tsongkapa directly by building Gaden Monastery.

When the 5th Dalai Lama heard what his scheming and power-hungry attendants had done, he was very distressed. He was very sorry Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was murdered and dishonored as he was a great dharma master. The 5th Dalai Lama composed an apology to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen. In Lhasa, tens of thousands gathered for the cremation of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s holy body. During the cremation, the 5th Dalai Lama’s apology was read out at which flames spontaneously arose from the body of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen commencing the cremation. From the body, during cremation, a powerful whirlwind of smoke tunneled into the sky for all to see as this was an indication Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s consciousness has arisen as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. The Dharma Protector Setrap immediately recognized this new protector Dorje Shugden and ‘enthroned’ him as a powerful Dharma Protector in the realm of the Buddhas. From this, Setrap and Dorje Shugden are closely connected and very close working hand in hand always. After the cremation, the great 5th Dalai Lama built a Dorje Shugden chapel on the spot the cremation took place and named it Trode Khangsar. The 5th Dalai Lama commissioned the statue of Dorje Shugden in this chapel and had monks installed in the chapel to do continuous propitiations to Dorje Shugden. Trode Khangsar Chapel was a commemoration to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who was wronged and also a celebration of his consciousness arising as the World Peace Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

This Trode Khangsar Chapel still exists now in Lhasa where many make pilgrimages there. It is in good condition and was recently renovated. It is over 400 years old and a testimony to the respect the Great 5th Dalai Lama had to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who arose as Dorje Shugden.

I have visited this holy chapel in Lhasa years back. I’ve never heard of it till I was in Lhasa and by chance, I was told about it which I was happy to visit. I could not find the place but strangely a bunch of pilgrims from Amdo told me they would show me how to get there in Lhasa.

This short video is a short clip of this holy Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa today commemorating Dorje Shugden, built by the great 5th Dalai Lama. The great 5th Dalai Lama even composed a prayer to Dorje Shugden which is still available today and we can recite to invoke the blessings, protection, and assistance of World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

    HUM
Though unmoving from the sphere of primordial spontaneity,
With wrathful turbulent power, swifter than lightning,
Endowed with heroic courage to judge good and bad,
I invite you with faith, please come to this place!

Robes of a monk, crown adorned with rhinoceros leather hat,
Right hand holds ornate club, left holds a human heart,
Riding various mounts such as nagas and garudas,
Who subdues the mamos of the charnel grounds, praise to you!

Samaya substances, offerings and torma, outer, inner and secret,
Favourite visual offerings and various objects are arranged.
Although, previously, my wishes were a bit dense,
Do not stop your powerful apparitions, I reveal and confess!

Now respectfully praising with body, speech, and mind,
For us, the masters, disciples, benefactors and entourages,
Provide the good and avert the bad!
Bring increase like the waxing moon in spiritual and temporal realms!

    Moreover, swiftly accomplishing all wishes,
According to our prayers, bestow the supreme effortlessly!
And like the jewel that bestows all wishes,
Always protect us with the Three Jewels!

My favourite part is always the prayers written by high lamas to these benevolent beings because it is a portal to see what their qualities are like and how they are worthy of being prayed to. I appreciate the effort by Rinpoche and some of his students for this rather large compilation of prayers and commentary. I am eagerly waiting for the guidelines and commentary on Manjushri practice that Rinpoche said will be published very soon. Thank you kindly, Rinpoche.

    INTERESTING DEVELOPEMENT:

We have been informed by our friends in Dharamsala that the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA; the de facto head of Tibetans in Exile in India) that they have seen the vulgarities said in the name of being on the Dalai Lama’s defense. Many who can read English in Dharamsala have been horrified that their campaign against Shugden is leading to such vulgarities and attacks on Shugden followers personal lives. CTA had hoped to intimidate Shugden people to give up through fear and violence in the past, but it has worked against them as they represent Dalai Lama a Nobel peace prize winner. People are asking why Dalai Lama does not speak up against the hatred towards Shugden people? CTA in the past have kept quiet about the attacks on Shugden people both physical and verbal but now IT’S DIRECTLY BEING CONNECTED TO THEM which is bad PR. The more Dalai Lama supporters hurl abuses on line and it’s recorded, the more it will work against CTA.

The CTA visit this blog often to keep a watch. They are embarrassed by people who write such negatives and vulgarities now and engage in name-calling in the name of Buddhism and the Dalai Lama. It reflects terribly on them. They have been getting more negative response from people around the world and more queries. The press has been picking up on these types of verbal abuses hurled at Shugden people and find it justified and alerted to the fact something is seriously wrong. They are starting to question the CTA more which is embarrassing.

We will keep posting these vulgarities hurled at Shugden people online. This is what Shugden people have to tolerate daily. But you will see NO SUCH COMMENTS from Shugden people. I have friends who informed me they will also send this article’s link to press around the world and proper authorities to keep them alert. As violent vulgarities can escalate into violence against innocent Shugden practitioners.

You see the bottom line is all this name hurling and violent words can stop overnight if His Holiness Dalai Lama speaks up to stop it. Dalai Lama should send people to engage in dialogue to settle this matter once and for all. It would benefit everyone all around. This ban and advice against peaceful Shugden practitioners was started by Tibetan leadership. They should do something to stop it as they are responsible for every person they affect with this ban. The Tibetan leadership is responsible for every harm perpetrated or planned against Shugden practitioners both verbal, psychological and physical.

Do see the pictures here of the abuse but be ready for how unpleasant it could be: https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/?p=58841

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank You very much to spread this wonderful practice and its commentary. I am very happy to take those as direct instructions.
When I first saw this post a fews days ago, I was reciting daily Dorje Shugden for one week, asking for a satisfying (to my mind) Dorje Shugden’s sadhana ‘to come to me’, as I was not able to find one. So what a good surprise/gift for me!
I was looking for help from a protector, because even if I feel very connected to Buddhism in general and Lama Tsongkhapa or Manjushri in particular, I am very stuck in my spiritual progress due to my very lazy mind despite quite a good intellectual understanding.
Inspired by your teachings, Lama Tsongkhapa Guru Yoga is the sadhana that I practiced the most for a few weeks/months, but there are some days where I can’t put myself on the cushion to practice, with all the guilt coming from this…I’m struggling for years with this very limitative bad karmic habit, that is affecting my hole life, thus my wish to seek help outside. This is the black magic spirit of my mind that I need to dispel!
As my main goal in life is to develop stable spiritual realisations, my mind turns out to seek help from a protector, as it is their speciality to assit and help to bring about the right causes and conditions to anyone sincerely wishing to practice and progress on the path.
So when I first heard seriously about Dorje Shugden, his growing power among the modern world, and his deep connection with Lama Tsongkhapa as a direct emanation of Manjushri, I thought that he must be the one I need help from at the moment. So a friend of mine gave me the mantra, I asked him if he has a sadhana, he said ‘no, but the mantra is enough for now’.
And now here is this wonderful sadhana. So a few days ago I printed out the Trakze image, framed it the best I could, add it to my shrine not far from His Holiness image, and started the practice. This practice takes me around 2 hours to do, but I’m very surprised on how fast the time flows on my cushion, and how every morning it seems like impossible to me to skip my practice cession, this must be the immediate blessings of Dorje Shugden.

I hope I will have in a near future more inspiring thoughts to share with you on how Shugden helps me along the way.

With profound an sincere admiration for all your dharma works, Sincerely Yours

    Didier Greusard

It’s amazing, sometimes when you make a spiritual choice, some people can criticize and segregate you for it. As if your choice must be approved by them. If they don’t approve they have some mandate to tell you that you are wrong and also can be rude for your choice of faith. If you don’t pray to what they pray to, then your ‘god’ is a demon or something. How archaic. LOL. I find that amazing. LOL again. How can you come to my space, face and life and tell me my religion is wrong? I didn’t hurt anyone with my faith and I don’t intend to. Whatever others of my same faith are or are not doing is not me. So don’t bundle me up into the same package. I am me and they are them. Besides, I am more than my religion. There are many aspects of who I am. So don’t just look at my spiritual choice and summarize me. You don’t know me. And you don’t have to know me. Also I owe nothing to you. I don’t need your approval for my spirituality. I would love to be your friend but let’s not let our spiritual choice ever get in the way. Be modern, be today and accept who I am as I don’t hurt anyone. 🙂 So look at all parts of who I am but the bottom line is my spirituality is my choice, do not ever presume to comment, disparage, judge or even think anything about it. I eat what I want. I dress as I like. Live where I want. Befriend who I wish. Write what I like on my social media space and pray to whatever I feel is working for me. Full stop! 🙂 Thanks for letting me live my life as your opinion of it is not needed, requested or solicited and I say this with deepest respects to you.. Humbly, Tsem Rinpoche

with regard to this all i saw was a confused boy trying to find the truth and handing over all things that were sexual and desire driven to his teachers many indeed, each one of us are not only allowed to review and check we encourage you all to do the same and make your own choice , one thing i can tell you is when you take a life at your hand you will remember it forever be it a worm a bird a dog , its not a race its a path to realisation so we as adult parents can make changes
so our children can be better , my lama told me we are only coming close to the second turning of the dharma wheel it has eight spokes there is not short cut . my thoughts is you will be well and truly gone before the final turning jesus will not have returned to earth but he will be alive in the spirit of the people who inhabit the earth . being buddha like is a difficult job the answer is on the inside almost an impossible job . do not grasp just be happy and

    Dear Rinpoche and team,

I thank you very much for bringing and compiling this in depth commentary for all of us online to view and read.

Through the commentary, I got a better understanding of what are the things that are needed to be done for Trakze practices as well as how to go about the practice. Not only that, but I also now understand why are the relative visualisations is about, and how to be doing them.

Before reading this article, I am always confused about the visualisation part to be done whenever I have to do it for my prayers. With this now, I fully understand how to do the visualisations and will not be doing the wrong things again.

Once again, I would like to thank Rinpoche and team for compiling this commentary for the benefits of all of us.

    Thnak you!

    Dear Tsem Rinpoche,
Thank you so much for the commentary to this practice. I do Dorje Shugden practice regularly but I am really happy to have this specific wrathful practice with Karma Shugden. I have had problems with harmful spirits throughout my life, and I think this practice will really help. Also thank you so much for all the articles on your blog about Dorje Shugden-your approach towards the whole issue is very straightforward and honest. I also really appreciate the views you have expressed about Kelsang Gyatso-he is my root guru and it is very inspiring to read your kind words about him. I also think you are a very wonderful teacher and I love reading your website and watching your videos. We are all brothers and sisters in Dharma and fellow human beings. We all benefit when we can learn from each other, while at the same time staying true to our practice, our Gurus, and ourselves.
    Than you

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you for the clear and detail instructions and guidance to Trakze Practice to rid Black Magic and Spirit infestation. And also to assist us in difficult times of obstacles and failures.

It is so empowering to understand all the symbols and offerings and what they mean. Such knowledge will enable us to see the significance of the reasons for wrathfulness and for us to realise and become conscience of the negativities that we continuously create and enhance against our own good.

This practice will make us take control over our lives and purify our negative karma for a better beginning after death.

Thank You Rinpoche for this wonderful explanation.Thank you Rinpoche for giviing us this wonderful protector. I have been doing Dorje Shugden Sadhana for around 2 weeks, and I feel so good from the prayer. I have full confidence in Dorje Shugden and starting from now I will recite one mala Trakze’s mantra ‘OM BENZA WIKI BITANA RAKYA RAKYA HUNG’ after Dorje Shugden main mantra’OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SOHA’as well as the visualization. By doing Dorje Shugden prayer, we can purify our bad karma and obstacles in order for us to do more Dharma practice. I wish the great protector-Dorje Shugden can assist Rinpoche not only Dharma work spreading and Kechara’s growth, but also Rinpoche’s long live.

  57. William on Jan 30, 2015 at 8:20 pm

    Dear Rinpoche,
Thank you for the through explanation of Trakze and the practices. It is very clear and concise. It is good to know that anyone can practice without being initiated as long as the person has a good motivation. The practice is especially efficacious for overcoming powerful delusions and very negative, harmful energies and will benefit a lot of people.

  58. Pastor Han Nee on Jan 30, 2015 at 4:51 pm

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this powerful and most efficacious Trakze practice( to dispel black magic and spirit harm), out of your great compassion. It is indeed a much needed practice, especailly in these troubled times.

The commentary and teachings are of tremendous help and provide a clear guide for anyone who wishes to do this practice. The purification aspect, through visualization, if carried out well, will be a most effective way of purifying our negativities that led to this negative experience.

As it is a practice that stems from pure compassion, and as the wisdom energy of Manjushri (of whom Trakze is an emanation), pervades the whole practice, the performing of this practice is a very powerful and skillful performance of our dharma practice itself.

  59. Kelly on Jan 30, 2015 at 4:50 pm

Thank you for posting this. I like the part where the Rinpoche says that Dorje Shugden is not only a Gelugpa Protector. I love Dorje Shugden very much, and also one of the Karmapas. I was wondering if generally Dorje Shugden will be a Protector that we are predicted to all be able to pray to in more lineages soon? I understand that Dorje Shugden helps all living beings so of course he helps us regardless of our lineage, but is he going to be a universal (or pray to him from any lineage) Protector soon/now?

    Dear Rinpoche,

With folded hands, Thank you so much for sharing on Trakze’s practice. Yesterday my colleague shares me her recent experience with spirits and she’s looking for protections. This morning when I saw this article, first thing come to my mind – Trakze’s practice may be able to help my colleague. I will share the above information with my colleague.

    Thanks a lot Rinpoche

  61. Lim Tat Ming on Jan 30, 2015 at 12:44 pm

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank You Rinpoche for your great compassion and kindness to all living beings by making available this precious and powerful practice to the world. The instructions here are clear, comprehensive and meticulously prepared.

Many will find this practice beneficial to help them overcome their inner and outer obstacles. Samsara is a dangerous place to be. With Trakze’s help, we are rest assured that we have a trusted and reliable friend to protect us along our journey through samsara and eventually be liberated from it.

There are so many benefits to be had from doing this practice. Trakze being an emanation of Buddha Manjushri functions only to help sentient beings. We are very fortunate to have the affinity with Buddha Dorje Shugden and His Five Emanations in this kaliyuga age.

May Dorje Shugden lineage flourish and pervade the entire space to benefit all sentient beings.

    With Folded Hands,
    Tat Ming

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you kindly for this information, the last few years I have been having dreams where black smoke rushes into my room and goes straight into my heart, I even feel it before it happens, then I can’t breathe and start crying in my dreams then wake up, upon waking up I sometimes see in my haze a black figure, then it goes, this only happens when I don’t do my purification practise daily,so I think this practice will benefit me so much! Could I set this up on my shrine (I only have room for one shrine), like integrate? I have Dorje Shugden and Buddha Shakyamuni and Je Tsongkhapa.

    Thank you again

    Dear Rinpoche and team,

With folded hands and gratitude in my heart, thank you so much for bringing us the Trakze practice. This is a very well written piece as the graphic narratives helped put images in my mind for visualisation. The clear and concise step-by-step instructions will no doubt help newer practitioners or first timers. Am confident that this practice will bring much benefit to many, especially Malaysians who grew up with stories (real or otherwise!) about spirits and supernatural interferences.

Well done on this one. Love this empowering piece, especially the Nathang with Karma Shugden and the 4 other forms of Dorje Shugden. May all be supremely blessed by this precious practice.

Dear friends, His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche bestowed on me the Dorje Shugden teachings back in 1983 in Los Angeles. I was 18 years old at the time. I have kept it up since now and blessed by it. Whatever is taught by H.H. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche is without fault and perfected by his personal high attainments. Whatever anyone might say, it does not move me because my faith in my guru is firm, I will be loyal to my Zong Rinpoche for the rest of my life and always share what he taught me. Venerable Ajahn Chah was a Thai Buddhist teacher of the Buddhadhamma and a founder of two major monasteries in the Thai Forest Tradition. Well respected and loved as a man of great wisdom, he was also instrumental in establishing Theravada Buddhism in the West. Interesting life story, how he chose to leave the settled monastic life and became a wandering ascetic. Walking across Thailand, lived in forests, caves and cremation grounds while learning from the meditation monks of the Forest of various monasteries. He wandered through the countryside in quest of quiet and secluded places for developing meditation. He even lived in tiger and cobra infested jungles, using reflections on death to penetrate to the true meaning of life. After years of wandering, Venerable Ajahn Chah established a monastery where he taught simple, practice-based form of meditation, and attracted a numerous of students including western foreigners. He was one of the greatest Dhamma teachers of the modern era. His wise teachings have continued to guide thousands of people along the path of Dharma. Venerable Ajahn Chah’s teachings of the Thai Forest Tradition gradually spread across all over the world. Several of Ajahn Chah’s Western students have since established monasteries throughout the world. Just in Thailand itself, there are more than 300 branch monasteries in Ajahn Chah’s tradition. Ven erable Ajahn Chah used his ill health as a teaching point, emphasizing that it was a living example of the impermanence of all things and reminded people to endeavour to find a true refuge within themselves. The legacy of Venerable Ajahn Chah’s teachings and legacy continues into the modern age.

Wonderful blog written on the practice of Kalarupa for us to understand better. As an emanation of Manjushri, Kalarupa’s practice helps us to destroy ignorance and to develop wisdom overcoming our anger and suffering . Awesome Kalarupa manifested in multiple forms to help sentient beings who personifies enlightenment by the conquest of anger. Kalarupa also regard as one of the three main Dharma protectors of the Gelugpa is extremely fierce and ugly, and tames all kinds of spiritual ugliness. The fierceness of his iconography teaches us to remind ourselves that all the causes and effects of anger arising from ignorance are dreadful and distorted.

Nepal is a very spiritual country, having a huge Dorje Shugden mural in Kathmandu, is indeed a big achievement for Kechara. Located on Charkhal Road in Dilli Bazaar, the mural can be found midway between our two Dorje Shugden chapels which are in Putalisadak and Chabahil. It is also very close to one of Kathmandu’s largest shopping malls. Many locals , tourist will be able to connect them to a powerful deity that is so closely associated with their culture. Well the mural not only beautiful but also full of symbolism and everyone merely by seeing it is blessed. Thanks to those talented artists and generous sponsors making it a success.

All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on. Letting go helps us to live in a more peaceful state of mind and helps restore our balance. A reminder for us all to go of attachment and meditating on impermanence and emptiness. We are to relinquish the domination of our ego and its habits to transform ourselves. A great reminder not to waste our previous life.

We are members of the Buddhist Temple in Taman Desa Jaya, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur and we have been issued membership by the president (DATUK YIP KUM FOOK), we are very sad because we are the foundation of this Temple

Now we can know who is always messing with people, and he always cheats money and women, he even uses Buddhism to find money.

Also, need to be careful with his brother-in-law (Simon Low Kok Meng) because he is a spy (CID) for DATUK YIP KUM FOOK and we will write some letters to AGONG SULTAN IBRAHIM IBN ALMARHUM SULTAN ISKANDAR as soon as possible.

The matriarchal cultures of the grandmothers have specific symbolism of animism shamanism, such as the horse, especially the blue horse, and the deer. These are two main symbols of a shaman woman and you can find them in many cultural folk lore, especially the Russian, Slavic, Siberian, Nordic, Finland, and Norway. It’s nice to see the Matriarchal Shaman Animism diety represented in Chinese.

Demons are disembodied spirits, supernatural being or spirit and unseen beings. We know they do exist and I believe they do. They have no physical form to them whatsoever. Demons do definitely exist. They are intelligent beings who are evil malicious spirits and are all dangerous entities. Valak is not to be summoned capriciously by anyone as they are dangerous beings when we invoke them having to face a heavy consequence. There are spiritual practices that we can ask for help a ritual of the wrathful Manjushri in the form of Trakze. Having a doing the practice daily without fail, consistently, as this Trakze practice has been proven to be efficacious to break the hold the Valak and other spirits. May H E Tsem Rinpoche’s sincere advice to reach the far shore of liberation to everyone reading this blog. The most truly generous people are those who give silently without asking any in return. There is no exercise better than reaching and lifting people up. A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal. Well creating and lighting for others we naturally light our own way. Lama Tsongkhapa was an influential Tibetan Buddhist monk, philosopher and tantric yogi, whose activities led to the formation of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism . Lama Tsongkhapa was hailed as the second Buddha by contemporary Buddhist masters of his time. Famous for reviving Buddhism in Tibet and revered for elevating the Dharma to all its present glory. I must thank my dharma blog team who are great assets to me, Kechara and growth of dharma in this wonderful region. I am honoured and thrilled to work with them. I really am. Maybe I don't say it enough to them, but I am saying it now. I APPRECIATE THESE GUYS VERY MUCH!

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

In this pic, Pastor Seng Piow is sharing Dharma with newbies ~ Sharyn's friends. It's always good to make light offerings at the beginning of new year. By making light offerings, you are able to dispel the darkness of ignorance and achieve wisdom. Kechara Penang Study Group by Jacinta.

One the day of Losar (new lunar year), it is always beneficial for Buddhist practitioners to get together in making abundant offerings to Buddhas on the altar to usher in goodness, prosperity and well-being of our loved ones. It's more auspicious this year as Losar and the Chinese New Year begin on the same date, 10th Feb, 2024. Back in Penang, our Kechara members came together to decorate the altar with abundance offerings for Dorje Shugden puja @3pm. Kechara Penang Study Group by Jacinta.

Umze for the day was Siew Hong. She's just been with us for slightly more than a year now but she's proven her capability in leading the puja. Our Penang group members are so proud of her and her commitment in attending the weekly puja. Despite being eloquence and smart, she has beautiful chant as well. When she leads, make sure you are there to hear her chant for yourself! Kechara Penang Study Group by Jacinta.

Dharma sharing by Hue before we proceeded with DS puja & Rinpoche Swift Return puja. Hue is one of the long time Kechara Penang members and he comes to puja regularly. He shared that he truly believes that Dorje Shugden and Rinpoche always there guiding him. He shared how sometimes DS will give him hints to avert troubles ahead or to alert him when he 'misbehaved'. Hope many will come to know more about this powerful Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden aka DS. Having Dorje Shugden is like having a powerful ally that will protect us day and night. Just trust Him and have faith. Kechara Penang Study Group, 25/11/2023 by Jacinta.
