Must Watch: The Paranormal Zone on NTV7

The Paranormal Zone official launch!! Congrats to Celebrity Host Ms. Li Kim!!

Last night, The Paranormal Zone had their official launch party! It was an invitation-only event, held at Ecoba. A press conference was held prior to the launch party at 4pm. Members of Malaysia’s major dailies and media turned up, including the Star, Malay Mail, New Straits Times, the Sun, Malaysian Tatler, Mun Sang Pau, NTV7, Men’s Health, Galaxie and Inspire FM!! They were all excited to witness the launch of a different kind of paranormal investigation… and apparently the only Malaysian-produced paranormal show hosted in English!

The Paranormal Zone investigates unseen phenomena that is experienced by the everyday, average Joe… Maybe there were will be scenes which you can identify with?? This show is hosted by Kechara’s Ms. Li Kim!

Before the press conference began, the photographers did a quick photocall with Li Kim who is very photogenic and a natural in front of the camera. After a few shots for the press, Dato’ Ruby (Executive Producer of The Paranormal Zone) opened the press conference with a speech. She spoke about how her parents and grandparents had many supernatural experiences, and how they were very common back in the day during the Communist Emergency and Japanese invasion.

The press and partygoers had the privilege to be the first to preview TPZ’s pilot series… In this episode, our celebrity host Li Kim goes to visit a sifu and a professor, and she learns about ghost children, like kwai chais (Chinese) and toyols (Malay)… it was interesting and captivating to say the least!

Datuk Sheila Majid, a good friend of Li Kim’s who is featured in one of the episodes, was overseas and couldn’t make the event. However, she sent Li Kim a video recording to congratulate her, which was played for everyone to watch… very exciting! After the video, Li Kim answered a few questions from the floor, did several one-on-one interviews with members of the media, took a few photos with fans… and then the party started!

Li Kim is a natural host. If she’s scared, she’s really scared… If she’s not impressed, she’s not impressed… If she’s excited, she’s excited. She is always herself for sure!  She has the stage presence of a star, and is a natural joker. Very comfortable with a crowd and on stage…you’ll see for yourself.  I heard that many people were laughing as her response to questions were witty and humorous. Sounds like the Li Kim we know! Li Kim is someone I know who has a huge heart of gold, kind, soft and very witty. Her friends adore her as she adores her friends.

The first episode will air on Malaysia’s NTV7 at 9pm, on October 1st. Do watch out for it! Do not miss this hit show!!

Mission to the Unknown
BY S. INDRA SATHIABALAN
Somewhat similar to the television series-and-movie Charlie’s Angels where Charlie sends his ‘angels’ out on missions, The Paranormal Zone will see Master Tsem sending Phng Li Kim and her team on missions.
But in this case, Phng and her team will not be fighting bad dudes but investigating matters of a different kind – paranormal activities.
Although there are many televisions series out there covering the same subject, the approach on this series is slightly different, says Phng, who is the host and producer of this series. Phng is also known as the force behing Kechara publishing house.
At the end of each of the 30-minute episodes, this intrepid host will write a report to Master Tsem based on her findings and views on the featured case.
Phng was asked if she has the sixth sense to see “ghosts”.
“Can I see them? No. Have I developed a sharp awareness towards them since shooting for this series? I would say yes,” said this newly-ninted celebrity host.
Phng added that she has always believed in ghosts. She has faith that whatever researched by the production’s researcher, Wendy Loh who is also the series’ scriptwriter, is practiced in this country.
Considering that there are other shows that follow a similar vein out there, Phng said that they hope to avoid covering similar things.
“Wendy has been researching the paranormal for 10 years now. We ensure everything is credible before shooting.”
However, Phng admitted to being sceptical on certain areas of the paranormal domain.
“I was sceptical during the filming of the episode on tarot cards. I have always been uncertain about it. However, I didn’t let that stop me from exploring and learning more. I still went in objectively.”
There were also moments during the shoots, in which she was really scared.
“Sitting in a haunted house up north was spooky. It had an energy – it is always about energy. You know something is there.
“What I do in order to calm myself(I have been told by researchers) is that I always tell them (the unseen occupants) why I am there.”
[This is a norm that many practice, including this writer, when staying at hotels]
Phng then pointed out the series’ tagline that reads: ‘What we see may not be real, what is real we may not see’.
“They are out there. They exist. We should not deny them and think they are bad. They are there.”
As for what the series will and will not cover, she said: “Our scope covers all paranormal activity; everyday things outside our logical base and surroundings – things that a logical mind and empirical science  may not be able to explain.”
With all 13 episodes shot (production work started at the end of last year), the team is hoping that the response from the public is good enough for the series to be commissioned for a second season.
The Paranormal Zone will premiere on NTV7 on Oct 1st at 9 pm.

It is quite amazing to look at these images and read the content. Today is Dec 2015, 3 short years later, and Li Kim has grown to become an international TV Host who host events next to celebrities like Utt. The Paranormal Zone is broadcasted in more than 14 different countries. Li Kim and her crew is flying to destinations like Indonesia, Thailand etc to capture stories to share with fans.

Hard work and support from an unconditional mother (Datuk May Phng) are certainly an ingredient for success especially in an industry as competitive as the entertainment business. However, the guidance of her beloved Guru – Tsem Rinpoche and the protection of the compassionate Dorje Shugden is certainly essential to this career development.

Thank you Rinpoche for being a crucial part of making Li Kim’s dreams come true.

I like to watch this programme on TV 7. For me it is real. I was siamese black magic for 16 years till now by my malay office friend because I got promotion. They are 4 of them united to destroy me. Very sad that one of them is called “ustaz” islamic teaching, one malay lady twice to mecca, the ustaz wife number two wearing “jilbab’, and a ‘runner’ taking people to do black magic. They group together to fight me alone. I got to leave my job and spent lot of money to cure. Now I am attach to a siamese practice; but unfortunately I got no enough money to defend myself. Now I just receiving hot black magic send by them to make me die.

The TPZ is going to be a very interesting and challenging blog in Kechara. Congratulation to Li Kim and her team in setting up this special project to seek and go beyond the human expectation and find a plausible answer to all the mysteries of the spiritual and material world. To those whose minds are filled with curiosity and without fear, they will be the one who will find the answers to the many unsolved mysteries in good time. Keep this TPZ alive always.

  9. Andrew Boon on Sep 25, 2012 at 7:05 pm

Wonderful!!! Li Kim looks very much in her element as the host of Tsem Paranormal. She is very natural and charismatic on camera… picture perfect! I can’t wait to watch the pilot episode. So far we have had snippets of it in the teasers and I am hooked!!! Congratulations to the entire Tsem Paranormal Team and of course to Rinpoche for Rinpoche’s vision and encouragement to all involved!

  10. Martin on Sep 25, 2012 at 3:07 am

Congratulations to Li Kim and the TPZ team. When you see some of the footages and you hear the stories, it is clear that Li Kim, Ms Han and the team went well out of their comfort zones to do this. This will again put Kechara on the map.

And to think that something this grand came out of Rinpoche’s initiative to start a paranormal section one day not so long ago and Li Kim made the decision to follow though with Rinpoche’s advice.

I wish LI Kim and the team every success.

  11. Wah Ying on Sep 22, 2012 at 11:34 pm

Congratulations to Li Kim and TPZ team! We have waiting for so long and finally we can watch the show on air by this October. I am so curious whenever TPZ team reveals only piece and pieces of the series.

All must watch the show from series 1 to 13 starting from 1 October!

  12. David Lai on Sep 22, 2012 at 6:04 am

Congratulations to Li Kim for a very successful launch of The Paranormal Zone. I think the show will be a hit and I am sure the Paranormal is a very interesting subject matter that many Malaysians would love to watch and talk about. I myself love anything to do with the Paranormal. It’s just so much more fun being scared if you know what I mean. Anyway, she has come a long way since her early days in KMP leading a ragtag team. I kinda miss those days a little and wish her all the best in her new found career as the celebrity hostess with the ‘mostest’.

  14. Carmen on Sep 21, 2012 at 1:07 pm

Dear Li Kim, Dato’ Ruby, Ms Han, TPZ Crew

Congratulations on the very successful launch and I am sure each guest left with a deeper impression and respect for the team and Kechara. I have seen Li Kim gradually build herself to today – it takes alot of hard work. What’s amazing is that her personality on and off the stage is the same; so natural with her intelligence, wit, humour and eloquence.

Many people have asked why the paranormal..my answer is why not?! Like many other topics, the paranormal topic serves to counter our ideology that humans are the only beings ruling the world. But, it doesn’t mean what we cannot see is not there. There are many realms of other beings around and compassion and respect has to be shown to ALL SENTIENT BEINGS; just as Buddha taught.

I am very much looking forward to the launch of this tv series.

    Love,
    Carmen

    • DR on Sep 22, 2012 at 11:36 am

Yes Carmen, Li Kim’s personality on and off the stage is the same. She is a natural; when she is scared, she is scared. When she is happy, she is very happy. When she is unimpressed, nothing changes her. Natural and unpretentious. That is why people find her endearing; friends and media alike.

Thank you everyone for all the best wishes. I cannot express enough my gratitude to Rinpoche for believing in me. And of course the team behind “the Host” is key to the success of the Host. I am serious… “I alone cannot but together we can” – Thank you EVERYONE!!!! Let’s take this series to new heights.

Thank you Rinpoche for your blessings. I will always maintain humility and focus on the bigger picture beyond the “fame and glory”… Much love and respect, Li Kim

  17. william on Sep 21, 2012 at 2:06 am

It was such a great party last night. There were a lot of people who attended and were impressed with our host Li Kim. Li Kim was very charismatic on stage, as usual, as she charmed the guests and media with her humour and wit.

A lot of people could not believe that this TV program is produced by Kechara’s own in house talent and also Kechara’s own production company. Kechara is definitely going out of the norm to promote Dharma. And everyone was surprised.

First time seeing Li Kim on stage. She is very funny and natural as a host. A short previews of some of the episode are shown. The previews gave off the feeling of supernatural and paranormal to the viewer, creepy and funny sometimes. This is great locally produced show, don’t miss it! 🙂

It was such a great opportunity for me to learn the Dharma in a non Dharmic way ヽ(^。^)ノ, being able to work in KMP under the wings of Li Kim, and the KMP team is truly a blessing. Moreover, the speech by Li Kim yesterday was really brilliant, she truly is a natural joker! Rejoice for all └(^o^)┘ & All the best to Li Kim and The Paranormal Team ∠(≧◇≦)

I was at the launch with my cousin and a good friend. They were amazed at what they saw: EVeryone was having such a good time. The atmosphere was not what they expected from a religious function. Every Kecharian they met talked about the change in their life and how Rinpoche was a major contributor to this. They showed great respect and total devotion to their Guru. They could be who they are and can still practice Dharma and contribute to the good of the society. Amazing!!!

  48. Grace Leong on Sep 20, 2012 at 8:01 am

Congratulations to Li Kim and ALL in the Paranormal team !!! It must have been an amazing journey from the start of this project till today ! This great success is a clear example of how nothing is impossible to achieve , especially With the guidance and blessings of Rinpoche !

Queen Genepil (1905-1938) was the last queen of Mongolia. She was executed in May, 1938, by the Stalinist in the attempt to destroy the Mongolian culture. She had a very interesting life story. She was already married but she was abducted to be married with the 8th Jebtsundamba Khutughtu who was much older than her. Her life was a tragedy, she was murdered and she died very young.

In order to progress in our spiritual practice, we need merits and also we have to purify our karmas. There are many ways for us to collect merits. If we have an altar, we can make water offerings, sensory offerings, torma offerings, commitment offerings and food offerings to collect merits. These offerings are not difficult to make especially the water and the food offerings. We can do water offering daily and offer up the first portion of our food to Buddha to collect merits.

We are surrounded by many mysterious, supernatural and unseen beings. Watching the video tells all …..negative energy called a spirit do exist after all. I do believe there is .Even though spirits comes in different forms each of these spirits could create harmful effects on anyone who disturb them. Never get involved with them , they could be helpful or harmful or neutral and could get aggressive in some cases. There are techniques or ways to remove unwanted or negative energy by relying upon the Dharma Protectors Trakze.
Interesting and scary as those young people described what they saw along the road .
Thank you Rinpoche for this interesting sharing.

    After reading chapter 1

The background life of Tsem Rinpoche. Interestingly, Tsem Rinpoche was born to a Mongolian princess Dewa Nimbo and Lobsang Gyatso. The couple was unable to build a family she discovered about Labsang Gyatso was a family man. The distress princess was unable to bare her situation left Labsang Gyatso has she was already going to have a baby.

Before Tsem Rinpoche was born, many wonderful dream made the mother to think about auspicious baby. After his was born, the baby had many attention from monks who actually was impress and recognize his previous spiritual life and was told to send to monastery for spiritual studies. The mother refused has her identity will revealed and decided to get a foster parents before he attend school.

Life went very miserable for the child, he was ill-treated, abused and was neglected to all his needs including food and care at his foster parents place. It’s heart wrenching to know at the age of three he was often seen roaming all around the street begging for food and back home late just to sleep. Out of some bad times there was some good time for Rinpoche after meeting Kwan Mama. A friend of his mother who took great care of Rinpoche. She was very fond of Rinpoche and wanted to adopt him without knowing who really he was.

There are many Buddhist practices that we can do to help us solve our problems. For example, the Black Manjushri initiation and practice are helpful in healing cancer and protecting against negative energies. This practice is extremely helpful when we are praying for others who suffer from the most serious and life-threatening diseases.

Do you believe there is Bigfoot? Tsem Rinpoche is very attracted to Bigfoot since he was very young. In the Himalayan area, people also often talk about the sightings of Bigfoot (they are also called Yeti). The description of the Bigfoot in the America and the Himalayan area are very similar.

Bigfoot or Yeti is described to be taller than a human and looks like an ape with a very hairy body. There are many sightings of Bigfoot but so far nobody has captured a very clear photo of it. The Tibetan lamas also talk about Bigfoot. It is said that when a high lama meditates in the high mountain, Bigfoot will come around to bring them food or be their messenger to deliver messages to other lamas.

How much do you need to survive for a week? Ms. Jill Redwood in Australia only needs $80 a week to live. She is living in a house she built herself and her food comes from the vegetable garden outside her house. She lives entirely off the grid with no connection to the power supply. She lives in a very natural environment which is very good to the mind, body and soul.

The bigger the statue, of course, the better it is. Big statues have been always been regarded as big blessings for the area around it and also the sentient beings that live around that area. Big statues can calm the land and also avoid more natural disasters.

In many cases, big statues are being built to avoid natural disasters. There is a huge Buddha statue is being erected in Sri Lanka as a memorial to the Tsunami that caused alot of destruction and also killed alot of innocent lives. It is very good for them to erect to Buddha statue there to calm the land and also bless the spirits that might be around from the tsunami disaster.

There is another big Buddha statue in China which is called the Leshan Buddha statue. It was carved out of a cliff next to a river that has turbulent waters. The river had created alot of problems for traders that sail up the river. After the Buddha statue was finished, the waters of the river did calm down alot which made is safer for anyone to sail in it.

These are just some an example of the benefit of a big Buddha statue. That is why it is not surprising that alot of the large outdoor statues around the world are Buddha statues.

Achi Chokyi Drolma is the Dharma Protectress of the Drikung Kagyu. She was one special Dharma Protector and at time of birth there were numerous auspicious signs appeared and her body was of purest white and radiating rays of light. Amazing at the age of 3 she could already reciting the mantra of Tara and teaching it to others. In her later years, she even composed a text containing a sadhana of herself and promised to look after the teachings of the Buddha in general. Her teachings has benefited countless of beings before her passing.

Beautiful Gwaneumsa Temple on Jeju Island, Korea is believed to have been first built in the early centuries AD’s . Well there little proof indicates the exact year of construction. Wow beautiful pathway to the temples with numerous stone statues and cedar trees planted along the entryway. Passing the cedar trees, is a large statue dedicated to large statue Amita-bul which is then surrounded by descriptive statues of various life-sized statues of guardians. Its considered to be one of the most picturesque entryway and there are also other large outdoor statues. A beautiful place to visit and popular for its colourful breath taking scenery.

Amazing there many grand statues around the world. There are some of the tallest, oldest, most spectacular, and historically significant statues of Lord Buddha. Buddhism has many different national and local cultures and traditions. Some of these Buddha statues are among the largest in the world. Beautiful and blessful to look at those pictures which paints a thousand words as each pose has a different spiritual significance. Thailand and China top the list of many grand statues across the globe. Big Buddha Statues has benefited many people and the surrounding environment. Such as the Big Manjushri Statues at Mount Wutai, China has attracted many pilgrims over the world . We a group of Kecharians have indeed fortunate to go on a fruitful pilgrimage there few years back.

Mantra is also considered to be a holy item, it represents the blessings of the enlightened beings in the form of sound. When we recite the mantras they stimulate the various parts of our body to heal itself, to clear itself, to purify itself and to gain higher states of consciousness. Ordinary beings, animals, ethereal or formless beings can all be blessed by the mantras of enlightened beings. Therefore, mantras are very powerful.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

Respected lamas of any devoted students will have two stupas for their remains. One stupa inside the ladrang of the lama and one stupa outside for the public to worship and do kora. By keeping the remains of the lama\'s previous lives in stupas, and making offerings, generates the merits for the current incarnation and future incarnations of the lama to be able to do more dharma work to benefit others.

Here is a beautiful indoor stupa to a lama in Tibet. It is up to the strength of the devotion of the students to create such stupas in respect and dedication of their lama\'s previous incarnation(s). TR

Living off the grid in Australia
A Jill Redwood is a jack of all trades, Jill built her own house on her property and lives entirely off the grid with no mains power or town water, mobile reception or television. Living on around $80 a week, Jill has over sixty animals to keep her company and an abundant garden that out serves as an organic supermarket right at her doorstep. Her main expenses are animal feed and the rates on her property. Watch this incredible three minute video and be inspired to live differently.

  • If there were more schools like this, then our kids would grow up with more caring awareness and kind emotions towards our environment and the people around them. They would grow up knowing that chasing materialism is not going to bring any happiness. I hope very much more schools like this would materialise. I hope in my future life I can attend a school like this. Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

“Food is the only thing that I have been longing for” - a single mother of two who currently living in Kuala Lumpur city. She mentioned that getting surplus food is not a matter of ignorance but a matter of not being able to afford “fresh” food. This is because when it comes to distributing salary, there are things such as house rental and utility fees that have to come before food. With welfare reforms, benefits being cut and sanctions, this marginalised community find themselves looking for a way to get through another day. #Kechara #foodbank #urbanpoor - Vivian @ Kechara Soup Kitchen

Big thanks to Chloe Chan, Tracy, and Mun Mun for helping to send monthly food provision to the urban poor families. With busy lives, it can be really hard to find time to volunteer. However, the benefits of volunteering are enormous to you, your family, and your community. The right match can help you to reduce stress, find friends, reach out to the community, learn new skills, and even advance your career. Giving to others can also help protect your mental and physical health. Be one of us by registering yourself at 010-3333260. ❤️ #Kechara #foodbank #urbanpoor - Vivian @ Kechara Soup Kitchen
