Detox Your Mind
Many of my friends tell me that they have lost almost two years of their life to the coronavirus pandemic as they are not able to do much. This leads me to understand their mind better on how fixated they are to their daily routine and habits.
To me, the pandemic is a great opportunity for us to take a step back, assess our life thus far, and understand on a deeper level how our mind works — its habits and ways of processing our life experiences. Using this mindfulness approach, I am able to identify which habits to stop focusing on and what areas of my thought process I need to adjust or fine-tune in order to live my fullest potential. I am also able to slowly remove the root cause of my negative emotions and behaviours that can be triggered from similar past experiences.
Hence, the birth of Detox Your Mind – The Workshop.
Mindfulness meditation, which I prefer to call “chill time” is a daily exercise for us to improve on focusing effectively and also to increase our awareness both internally and externally. The byproduct is an experience of being grounded, at peace, relaxed, stress-free as well as increased clarity of the mind. “Chill time” sounds more inviting than “mindfulness meditation” for first-timers. I usually encourage everyone to chill for at least five to ten minutes daily over a cup of tea, coffee or water, whichever drink they prefer when they chill. Just focus on the drink and the process of drinking. It’s very therapeutic! It also helps us improve our focus and become more resilient.
When we combine this practice with understanding how our mind works, we will have the resilience and mindfulness to purge out the habits that do not serve us and focus on developing habits that enable us to connect with our authentic self and live our fullest potential. This lifelong process will empower us to be more fulfilled, joyful and at peace.
In these 35 episodes, I will guide you to understand in greater depth on how your mind works, and the various topics that I believe are essential to revisit so that we understand what happened to us.
