Indonesian Tsongkapa???
My Dearest Lama,
On this auspicious day (your birthday 24 October 2010), Betsy and I would like to offer you the first ever Indonesian – English Lama Tsongkhapa site.
Please click on the following link to access the site:
www.lamatsongkhapa.com
We would also like to give credits to the two web designers who have been helping us in constructing this website, Dian Maya Listya and Syntia Wijaya Dharma, and my personal assistant, Nike Permatasari, who have been helping us in compiling articles and going around town to do interviews. Without their dedication, this website will not be manifested on timely basis.
We wish you a long life and stable health. We sincerely hope that whatever, you wish for will come true.
Much much love,
Valentina and Betsy
Dearest friends,
We are pleased to inform you that the website that we have been working on for the last several months is officially launched. We welcome you to visit this site at
www.lamatsongkhapa.com
At first, this website is intended as a birthday present for my Lama, H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. However, in the process the concept of this website has evolved further from a strictly Buddhist website to a more universal one that will interest people from various backgrounds. Currently, this website is also used as media of communication with regard to local charity projects that my friends and I are involved in:
- Student sponsorship program – consists of updates, messages from the students to the sponsors, interviews with the teachers about our student sponsorship program, and updates from the students who have graduated.
- The orphanage – consists of activities, projects, interviews, and updates from the orphanage that we regularly help.
- Animal protection program – consist of our projects and activities aimed to improve animals’ quality of life. In the near future, this section will also contain delicious vegetarian recipes for humans and for dogs.
- Ad hoc projects – consists of the ad hoc projects that we involved in outside the above categories.
Thus, this website also represents my appreciations to those of you who have helped me in my local charity projects, since I will not be able to do it without your support and kindness. In compiling these articles, I just realized that we have done a lot of things together within a short period of time.
This website will be a full dynamic website with updates posted from time to time. Thus, we encourage you to log in from time to time to catch up on the happenings. Thus, please enjoy this website and don’t forget to provide us with your feedback before you log off, just click “Have your say” button at the upper right hand side.
P.S.: Special thanks to the Lama Tsongkhapa website team who have sacrificed their weekends for the past month: Syntia Wijaya, Dian Maya Listya, Betsy Ciaputra, and Nike Permatasari
Much love,
Valentina
Dear Valentina,
I am very happy to see this website that is in the Indonesian language. It is the first of it’s kind and I must say you have a great idea. You can reach so many people through this website and bring relief to those who have affinity.
I thank you for launching it today. It is indeed a tremendous gift for me today and I SINCERELY THANK YOU FOR IT.
Please update and make this website grow, and be current and be available long term. This is important. With the motivation as so aptly put by Shantideva to benefit others without end, you will make this website expand. Always do all work with the motivation to benefit others..then it will be all worth it.
Much care, much pleasure and much merits for you,
Tsem Rinpoche
PS I will list this under recommended links of my blog on my home page.

[…] Indonesian Tsongkapa?? […]
Valentina worked very hard and single handedly set up and maintained this website with a little help by her friends. She finds her pieces and puzzles of time that she had in between lunch, parking and salon, dinner to translate Rinpoche’s teaching into Indonesian.. Amazing woman. Besides giving food to the homeless, Valentina supports students for their study. Thank you for spreading Rinpoche’s teaching to your people.
I would have to say that Valentina and her team have done a VERY GREAT job in expanding Rinpoche’s dharma works. Within less than 2 years, many programs have started working and seeing results.
In a country where Buddhism is a rare belief, least to say Tibetan Buddhism which can be viewed as uncommon even among Chinese in Malaysia, Kechara Indonesia has done a good job in introducing this religion to many people in Indonesia and benefit many.
Valentina and her team have overcome many financial factors and time constraits with simple guru devotion. Well done!
There are all kinds of practitioners and the ones that Rinpoche is most pleased about are those that take action and make things happen for themselves and others. It is really humbling to see what Valentina has achieved in Indonesia and she is the main driver for it all. I do think Rinpoche’s message and style of dharma appeals to many people around the world and is not confined to just Malaysia.
Rinpoche was instrumental in starting KSK and it helped many of us to identify with the struggles of the people in the places like Kuala Lumpur. Sometimes Saturday ends perfectly with a night out distributing food to the homeless in KL.
Valentina is very hardworking, and has a lot of initiatives. She may be “alone” in Indonesia, but nothing can stop her.
She wanted to have Tsongkapa’s teaching in Indonesia, and therefore, she works tirelessly to get the website translated into Indonesia. Nobody asked her to do so, she just did it.
She also started distributing food in Indonesia after seeing what KSK has done. Again, nobody asked her to do so, she just did it.
Thank you so much for taking the effort to serve others!!
Dear Valentina & Betsy….,
Congratulations to both of you and those of your friends who were involved in the project!
It was a wonderful and meaningful gift to our Lama on His birthday! Your great job will inspired our Lama to live long and continues to turn the wheel of Dharma! Besides that, this website will benefit lots of people and also bring peace!
Thank you all so much and hope to see you on 27th of Nov 2010.
Best regards,
angel
Dear Valentina & Betsy,
Thank you for the dedication and devotion which created this beautiful website.
It is a wonderful gift to our Guru, benefiting others with the Dharma.
As Yoke Fui mentioned, please come to our new Gompa official opening on 27 November 2010. See you soon.
Dear Ibu Valentina & Betsy, Congratulations and its great. The side by side translation is a fantastic idea. I am getting a refresherlesson in Bahasa! By posting not only the teachings but also informing of the charity works you have done, you are demonstrating to all visitors the true essence of spirituality and what we can all do to benefit others. Thank you.
Wow…this is one of the best Birthday gifts I have seen any students give a Guru!
Just like everyone else, I am in awe and very inspired to read about this website in Indonesian and English. It is very beautifully done in both English and Bahasa.
I love that Valentina and Betsy have translated all of Rinpoche’s quotes into Bahasa as well. It would be great that you can do all these in Indonesia. Perhaps even be inspired to translate some of Rinpoche’s books into Bahasa and work with Kechara Media Publications in the near future. I am sure many people will benefit from reading your website and Rinpoche’s work in Bahasa.
I am sure it was not an easy feat to complete a project fo such scale. I truly rejoice and congratulate you both, Valentina and Betsy. You both have done something meaningful to benefit others.
Another wonderful post to brighten my day!
Thank you so so much for inspiring us all to do more!
Dear Valentina & Betsy,
Well done ! I’m just as amazed as Andrew to see Lama Tsongkhapa’s practice and history in Indonesian.
Both of you have done a wonderful job with this informative website.
It’s truly a meaningful birthday gift to our Lama.
Hope to see you on the official opening of KH New Gompa ( 27 Nov 2010).
WOW… when Rinpoche mentioned to me about the site, I thought it was actually a site in English, but I am pleasantly surprised it is amazingly bilingual. It layed out cleverly in both English and in Bahasa Indonesia (which is very close to our local Malay language Bahasa Malaysia) side by side so there is reference to either language.
What is more amazing to me is that Betsy, Valentina’s friend, took the time and effort to translate all the Dedication Prayers (Completion Dedication, Shantideva’s Bodhicharyavatara Dedication Prayers and Yonten Shigyurma).
The website is also a host of infomation ranging from History on Lama Tsongkhapa and Rinpoche, vegetarian receipes (for dogs even!!!! definitely going to try these), sponsorship programs and other social initiatives. Amazing dedication… here I am happy that I conquered my “little” crane!!!
Goes to show, we can always, always, always do more! Thank you Valentina, Betsy and all involved in a job well done. I love the site. Its clear, its easy to navigate and its so amazing to see it in the “malay” language.
Much love… Andrew
First Indonesian Tsongkapa created on the Website by Valentina with the help of Betsy and their team have been compiling articles on Indonesian Tsongkapa. And has been presented to Rinpoche on his birthday today. So auspicious and this can also promote her charitable work which she is doing in Indonesia. This was was intended to be only presented to Rinpoche for his birthday as strictly Spiritual Buddhist Website. But has been changed into something universal which will interest more people and also be very beneficial to everyone. It can also help her in the Media in promoting Valentina’s social work which she has jointly been doing with Betsy. Valentina’s hard work has borne results. Congratulations to you Valentina in your launch. You have not only made yourself proud but also made Rinpoche and Kechara House proud.
