The 4th Edition of The Promise is out! Click to purchase

The 1st edition of The Promise was published in 2012 and the recently launched 4th edition carries many more details that have arisen as the result of further interviews and conversations with people who have known Tsem Rinpoche and who have come to experience his tremendous kindness.

Of particular note is the Foreword which was graciously written by H.H. the 101st Gaden Tripa Jetsun Lungrik Namgyal Rinpoche, the most senior monk of the Gelugpa order today. The Gaden Tripa is regarded to be Lama Tsongkhapa’s representative on earth and the Gaden Trisur (Tripa Emeritus) is someone who has held this most esteemed position in the past.

The 4th Edition of The Promise provides details of a number of Rinpoche’s holy past incarnations that have been confirmed by high lamas and the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden who took trance in his oracle, the Venerable 7th Panglung Kuten, to bestow the recognition.

Tsem Rinpoche personally did not want to make a big fuss over this and in fact, Rinpoche even resisted the idea of having a biography book to begin with. But Rinpoche’s teachers have advised that having a biography done of Rinpoche’s life would inspire many people and draw them to the Dharma. And it is not difficult to see why.

This new edition of The Promise features a lot of interesting pictures. Click on image to enlarge.

Those who know Rinpoche, know a lama who is extremely humble and down to earth with no airs of grandeur whatsoever. However, Rinpoche’s line of previous incarnations include some of the most important personages and erudite scholars to have shaped and made Tibetan Buddhism into the potent spiritual practice that it is today.

This list includes the likes of Magadha Sangmo, a student of the historical Buddha whose reverence for Lord Shakyamuni was legendary; Duldzin Drakpa Gyaltsen, a direct disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa, the founder of the Gelugpa school of Tibetan Buddhism; Mahasiddha Virupa, the great 9th century yogi and Abbot of Nalanda Monastery; and Thonmi Sambhota, a key minister of the 7th century Emperor Songtsen Gampo who was the first to bring Buddhist texts from India to Tibet and who invented the Tibetan script.

Tsem Rinpoche’s past incarnations also include the Mahasiddha Naropa, one of the great Mahasiddhas of ancient India and the father of the Vajrayogini Tantras; Sakya Pandita, the 4th Sakya Throneholder and one of the five patriarchs of the Sakya lineage; and the Emperor Kangxi, one of China’s greatest and most benevolent emperors who stabilised the empire, brought prosperity and was a great patron of Chinese arts and culture.

In the 4th Edition, we also learn about how Rinpoche first encountered the practice of the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden, how central Dorje Shugden has been to the practice of Rinpoche’s holy teachers including His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, and how Rinpoche has sworn to uphold all the practices and lineages he has been bestowed by his teachers, including the practice of Dorje Shugden. Such is Rinpoche’s trust and devotion in his Gurus and lineage that nothing can compel him to break his promises.

Personally, I was happy to learn that Reuters, the global media platform is also carrying news of the launch of the 4th Edition of The Promise. As a student of Rinpoche, I am personally a beneficiary of his wisdom and kindness. And I know that as faith in our lama becomes more well defined, so does our focus on the Dharma, and only then do spiritual attainments come within reach.

In the months and weeks leading up to the publication of this book, the Writers Team have worked tirelessly and with unassailable devotion and I thank them as I thank everyone who has been involved in the production of The Promise.

Mostly I would like to thank H.E. Tsem Rinpoche for his life’s work, his devotion to preserving and bringing the pure teachings of Lama Tsongkhapa to us, for his love and care to everyone he meets, for being an inspiration, and for being a lighthouse in this sea of samsara that we find ourselves in.

May Rinpoche live long, may Rinpoche’s holy legacy grow and may Rinpoche continue to turn the wheel of Dharma.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

“If the Dalai Lama, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden, then we might as well not practice Buddhism anymore. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his life shortened by a so-called evil spirit, any evil spirit, then can he be Avalokiteshvara? So on one hand you say, we say, I say, everybody says, he is Avalokiteshvara; on the other hand you’re saying that he can be harmed by an evil spirit… Which one is it? Can he be harmed by an evil spirit or is he Avalokiteshvara? Do you think Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Tara all take refuge in something else to protect themselves from Dorje Shugden? How illogical is that? How illogical of people to say His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by an evil spirit, any evil spirit or “Dorje Shugden” evil spirit. How is that possible?” – Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

I was walking past a second hand shop on Western Ave selling old things. They had a Japanese-style clay Buddha which was beige in colour on the floor, holding the door open. I thought the shopkeeper would collect a lot of negative karma without knowing if he kept such a holy item on the floor as a doorstop. So I went in to talk to him, but he didn’t look like he wanted to talk or that he even cared. So I asked him the price and he said US$5. I purchased it so he did not collect more negative karma. I was 17 years old and that was in 1982.

I escorted my new Buddha home and washed it lightly and wiped it. I placed it on my altar and was happy with the Buddha. I would do my meditations, prayers, sadhanas, mantras and prostrations in front of this shrine daily. When I left for India in 1987, I could not bring this Buddha along and gave it to a friend. It was a nice size and I made offerings to this Buddha for many years in Los Angeles. In front of the Buddha I placed His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s photo. I remember I was so relieved that the price was affordable. But US$5 that time was still expensive for me but worth it I thought. But I was happy to have brought the Buddha home. Tsem Rinpoche

How can a nun curse someone they do not even know and wish the person to die quickly and be born in hell? What kind of nun is this? Shocking! What more she’s cursing a Buddhist teacher and a monk?! Is this the face of Bhutanese Buddhist?

This is so shameful for her as a nun, her teacher, her monastery, her country and her King. A sangha should not behave in such a manner. A Sangha should carry enlightened Buddha’s teachings of compassion and wisdom to benefit all sentient beings.

A Sangha is not supposed to promote hatred and certainly should not be cursing or wishing another person to die. That wish itself is already breaking one of the vows.
A Sangha is one of the 3 Jewels, an object of refuge. They should not behave like an uncivilized person with so much hate. This is how bad the Tibetan Leadership has spread their lies and hate about Dorje Shugden and Shugden Buddhist practitioners.

A true democracy allows everyone the freedom to exercise their human rights, including the freedom to practise any religion they want. In democratic countries, the government does not interfere with this right. Neither are democratic governments prejudiced against their citizens’ choice of religious belief. They do not force people to stop their religious practice or pass legislation criminalising people because of their religion.

The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), the Tibetan leadership who are based in Dharamsala are the exception. They are the only so-called ‘democratic’ leadership that puts a stranglehold on its people, persecuting them for their religious beliefs. They deny the rights of Dorje Shugden practitioners for simply practicing their religion as they have done for the past 400 years. Dorje Shugden practitioners are ostracised from their own community, denied medical care, education or even employment in government offices. The CTA definitely does not live up to the right to be called a democratic administration, especially when in it inflicts suppression of people’s freedom and disrespects basic human rights.

Will the CTA (Tibetan govt in exile) and their supporters in East and West say voodoo is evil and cannot be practiced too? Will they advise against Voodoo and say its a demon’s practice and people who practice are bad too? Truth be told, no one has the right to say anything about anyone’s religion. Listen to what this man says in the short snagged clip because he speaks well and with the truth.

The 4th Edition of “The Promise:”- Rinpoche has sworn to uphold all the practices and lineages he has been bestowed by his Teachers, including the practice of Dorje Shugden. Such is Rinpoche’s Trust and Devotion in his Gurus and Lineage which nothing can compel him to break “His Promise.” When the Tibetan Leadership (The CTA) first implemented the ban on the practice of Dorje Shugden over 20 years ago, main reason for the ban was that this Protector endangers the life of our beloved Tibetan God-King, His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama. Secondly, they added that Dorje Shugden jeopardize the efforts of the Tibetan people to regain their freedom from China and return to their Homeland. In fact, by tarnising, albeit incorrestly, the reputation of this “enlightened Dharma Protector”, nothing that the Central Tibetan Administration, (i.e. CTA) said about Dorje Shugden could be further from the truth. “There is solid evidence to refute all of CTA’s false accusations against Dorje Shugden, going back all the way to 1959 and beyond,as alledged by Dorje Shugden’s representative Party. According to notes in the script as written, “Just as Dorje Shugden had portended towards 1959, the situation was said to be extremely tensed in Lhasa. For years before the Dalai Lama’s escape, Khampa guerillas waged war against the Chinese soldiers along the border, and the Chinese became impatient. Soon a plot to capture the Dalai Lama and influential officials of the Tibetan Government was uncovered.” It was said in Trijang Dorje Chang autobiography that he wrote and summoned the “Panglung Oracle” to his chambers and invoke Dorje Shugden to ask for the protector’s advice. Dorje Shugden confirmed that the Chinese were ready to carry out plans to get rid of the Dalai Lama. When the info. was communicated to H.H. the Dalai Lama, he ordered Trijang Rinpoche to seek further advice from the Dorje Shugden. With all neccessary help from his personal changtso(assistants), Trijang Rinpoche sought help from his conduit friends for Dorje Shugden to convey secret plans for the Dalai Lama’s escape to safety, foiling any plans for him to be abducted! Thus as said, both poinant and ironic has saved H.H.the Dalai Lama’s life and with him, the Tibetan Buddhist Religion and the legacy of the Tibetan people. Yet today, the same Dharma Protector is being said and accused of wishing to do harm to the Dalai Lama and destroy the efforts of the Tibetan people to regain their homeland! Whatsoever, the King of Protectors, Dorje Shugden, continues to carry on helping, assisting anyone who invokes his help in their Dharma practices, in order to benefit all beings! Our Dorje Shugden chapel in Bentong, near Kechara Forest Retreat is opened and dedicated in his great works as well as to invoke his blessings for one and all to come and to worship Him! All are welcome! Om Benza Wiki Bittana Soha.

Tsem Rinpoche is a humble and low profile person. His teachers used to advise Rinpoche to have biography book because it would inspire many people to practice Dharma. Because of Rinpoche’s devotion to his Guru, he agreed to share with many about his life and now we have the latest version, The 4th Edition of The Promise.

It is for sure that many people would be inspired by the way Rinpoche overcomes the challenges in his life without losing his compassion, integrity, courage and his devotion to his Guru. All these good qualities do not come within one life time but it is due to dharma practice from many previous life times.

Rinpoche has many holy past incarnations that have been confirmed by high lamas and Protector Dorje Shugden. The past incarnations can be traced back to Buddha Shakyamuni time. This is how powerful practicing Dharma can be. Ones who take refuge to the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha and practice Dharma all the way under the guidance of a genuine Guru, the end result will be ultimate freedom and happiness, which is enlightenment.

It is very important that we have the best Guru to guide us on our spiritual path and indeed I and all Kecharians are very blessed to be students of H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche.

In this 4th edition of Rinpoche’s life and His Promise, it is exciting to learn about Rinpoche’s previous incarnations and all the beneficial works that He had done for sentient beings.

Rinpoche’s previous incarnations includes His being with Shakyamuni Buddha and the founder of our lineage, Je Tsongkapa.

Thank you Rinpoche for giving blessings for this publication.

    Hi Li Khim,

Thank you to you and your excellent team in coming up with an updated edition of The Promise. I promise that I will get a copy, study it and embody the countless Dharma teachings contained within. I’ve already read the previous edition and now with the 4th edition, as more information is added, it will certainly give a more comprehensive view into our Guru’s present life and past incarnations – working solely to benefit others.

Thank you again for this hard work to bring the Dharma to others.

    Lum KL

It is interesting to read Mahatma Ghandi story. He is such a compassionate person who did everything for the benefit of others although he needs to go through so much pain, jail term and even death. His teaching always remain that is to deal the situation with peace and tolerance, not violent. When he was caught by the British in 1919, and his followers were attacked, his advise to his people is do not use violence and do not damage any property. For most of us, we are driven to revenge with hatred and violence once we are being ‘attack’. That’s how negative our mindset is.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing such an inspiring article of Mahatma Ghandi.

It is indeed very rude for Roisinelder to come to Rinpoche’s tweet and made baseless allegation. Thing she stated just show how irresponsible she is with her limited knowledge of Buddha’s teaching and Dorje Shugden. We are thankful that Rinpoche has shared so many articles, videos, prayers and etc about Dorje Shugden so all students and people around the world understand the origins of the practise. None of this I found negative and the slander made by Roisinelder not only damage her own integrity but HH Dalai Lama. I hope people who read this type of comments on social media has the right understanding to what is true and not. May Dorje Shugden ban be lifted soon and Rinpoche do not need to receive such attack on social media.

Zaya Pandita Luvsanperenlei was born a son of a very poor herdsman in Mongolia. He was a disciple of Buddha Shakyamuni in one of his previous incarnations. At a young age he was recognized as tulku, been gifted he studied under many masters. Later HH 5 th Dalai Lama recognised as an incarnation of Zaya Pandita. Amazing at a young boy he learn to read, write and even learning poetry, painting and sculpture. Later years as a young man he even studied medicine and science. He also studied medicine and science and was known to be an excellent painter and poet. An interesting life story of a great Lama. He was one of the key disciples of Drepung Monastery’s Tulku Drakpa Gyaltsen. He also studied medicine and science. An interesting life story of a great Lama He was involved in the construction many temples, founded a monastery and four colleges which had a great influence on Mongolian medicine. Zaya Pandita was a excellent writer having wrote numerous books , texts, prayers and other works to date. He was one of the key disciples of Drepung Monastery’s Tulku Drakpa Gyaltsen.
Thank you Rinpoche and Seow Choong Liang for this interesting read.

Geshe Ngawang Wangyal was a Buddhist priest and scholar of Kalmyk origin born in the Astrakhan province,Russia. Folowing his brother footsteps he became a monk at a young age , he was able to learn the Tibetan language and could memorised many Tibetan texts. Geshe Wangyal’s intelligence and passion for Buddhist studies lead him working hard to continue his studies. His struggles paid off and during the Chinese invasion he has helped in the escape of HH Dalai Lama to India. The rest is history and later he made his way to New Jersey his home , working for CIA and as a translator then. In the later years he managed to established and built a Buddhist monastery. He gave teachings to many students of Western background and sponsoring many Tibetian Lamas and monks from India to serve the Buddhist community in the United States. He played a significant role in spreading Tibetan Buddhism in the United States. He has worked tireless to benefit many people , had translated two volumes of popular Tibetan and Sanskrit stories illustrative of Buddhist teachings. His legacy still lives on till today.
Thank you Rinpoche for this interesting read with folded hands.

Another success story of Kechara Soup Kitchen

H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche had conceptualised Kechara Soup Kitchen based on his experience of great hunger. He understood that hunger cuts across all barriers of humanity and will unite people in compassion. Kudos to all who held Rinpoche’s wishes and went all the way to the success that it is today. Many had benefitted from Kechara Soup Kitchen and many still will.

    Menlha (Medicine Buddha) practice

I truly recommend that you to be familiar with this great Medicine Buddha (Menhla) puja (prayer) as it is so beneficial on many levels, for the swift recovery of sick ones, for the dying or those who had passed and for our own well being. It had been said that at the point of death, if Medicine Buddha’s mantra is recited, then one will take rebirth in the human realm. Such is the compassion of Menhla.

Tibetan leadership forces Sera Jey monk to propose self-harm

When a government forces a monk to publicly announce that he will self-immolate if the dirty politics in his own government do not stop, the situation is really bad. Monks are supposed to not interfere with any of the secular matters and only focus on his Dharma study and practice.

Monks also hold vows of not killing also included himself. Suicide is against their vow and it is one of the major vows. This Sera Jey monk is willing to return his monk vows and kill himself just to raise awareness of the corruption of the Tibetan government.

Tibetan government should really take a good look at themselves to change for the better. This should be a wake-up call for them already. The sufferings that the public feel will be much more if they stay the same.

Kyabje Ling Rinpoche does Dorje Shugden

Kyabje Ling Rinpoche is one of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s tutors. He is the one that is responsible for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s education. Since His Holiness the Dalai Lama is not someone ordinary and he will be responsible for the spreading of Dharma later in his life, they will definitely choose the best teacher for him.

From here, we can see how great this Ling Rinpoche is to be able to be responsible for His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s education. He must be someone respectable and excellent in his knowledge to be able to hold such post.

How is it possible for CTA to choose someone that does demon practice to teach the Dalai Lama? If Dorje Shugden is a demon and it means Ling Rinpoche is a demon practitioner and what he taught His Holiness will be demon practice. It is not logical.

Markham makes it illegal to ban Dorje Shugden

Dorje Shugden ban has been around for 20 years and many had suffered discrimination and segregation from their own Dharma and secular communities. They are being denied services from restaurants and hotels. They are even being denied by schools and hospitals.

Dorje Shugden people had suffered tremendously due to their choice of religion. It is unfair to persecute someone based on their choice of religion. That state of Markham recognizes the unjust of the issue and issued a public notice to warn their citizens to not use religious affairs to create trouble especially Dorje Shugden religion.

Those who are found guilty will be brought under the law. This is a huge step for religious freedom in Tibet and hopefully, more and more cities and counties will follow Markham.

Ever since the Dorje Shugden ban was imposed 20 years ago, the Dorje Shugden practitioners have suffered a lot. The CTA issued a directive to the Tibetans telling them to not have any connection with Dorje Shugden practitioners. Families, friends, teachers, and students are split due to the difference in their faiths.

The CTA said there is no ban on Dorje Shugden practice, this is not true at all. There are notices put up to stop Dorje Shugden practitioners from frequenting. Dorje Shugden practitioner is not allowed to frequent restaurants, shops, guest house, and temples. In addition, Dorje Shugden practitioners are hurt physically. Nothing was done by the CTA to stop these harmful behaviors.

These 2 videos are another solid proof of the ban. People are turned away because they are Dorje Shugden practitioners. In general ,when people know you practice Dorje Shugden, they will reject you just like how they did in the videos. The CTA should lift the ban as soon as possible beacuse it causes separation and disharmony in the Tibetan community.

China’s passport is becoming more powerful similar to the United States and the United Kingdom. This new development clearly says that China is fast becoming more respected, and more importantly, trusted. It also means with there is a lot of international trade with the Chinese government and Chinese business people and companies. A more powerful Chinese passport also indicates a wealthier and more affluent Chinese domestic economy. As Chinese people find it easier to travel and access the people of the world, the rich Chinese culture and their philosophy will spread to other nations.

Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen arose as the great protector Dorje Shugden after he was murdered by some jealous students of the 5th Dalai Lama. Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen made a promise in his previous life (when he was Dulzin Drakpa Gyeltsen) that he would protect Buddhism, in particular, the Tsongkhapa doctrine. The appearance of Dorje Shugden is to help Dharma practitioners of our time to overcome their obstacles in life and be able to focus in spiritual practice. For non-Dharma practitioners, Dorje Shugden will give them protection and create a connection with them to guide them in their spiritual path when the time is right.

Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyeltsen the greatly learned master and emanation of Manjusri, was born in 1182. At the moment he was born many auspicious signs and omens appeared. This show he was some one very special been able to speak in Sanskrit at the time of birth and when he was 3 years old amazingly ,he could even read and speak Sanskrit, Tibetan, Chinese and Mongolian without having been taught. Wow…. Just within a few years he was able to recite lengthy works of philosophy and Tantra by heart. Since then he studied under many great masers in various subjects such in the Tibetan and Sanskrit languages, astrology, medicine and art, grammar, poetry, and music. He even composed numerous comprehensive logical commentaries, and his skill in debate was unmatched and he possessed with limitless knowledge. He was one of the greatest scholars in Tibetan history.
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor David Lai for this sharing.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

His Holiness Sharpa Choje Rinpoche Jetsun Lobsang Nyima of Gaden Shartse Monastery. He was a supreme master of both Sutra and Tantra. He served as abbot of both Gaden Shartse Monastery as well as Gyuto Tantric college. After serving as abbot of Gyuto Tantric college he entered into a few long term (3 year, 3 month and 3 day) Vajra Yogini retreats in the forest. He completed that long retreat twice and was going to enter it again till he was asked to be abbot of Gaden Shartse Monastery by H.H. the Dalai Lama. He was a great practitioner of Vajra Yogini\'s tantra as well as Dorje Shugden. He was a scholar of the highest renown and he was highly sought after for teachings. He was very devoted to Dorje Shugden throughout his whole life as a pure monk. I was fortunate enough to have him as one of my teachers. Humbly, Tsem Rinpoche

In 1989, Bill Porter, also known by his pen name ‘Red Pine’, travelled to the Zhongnan Mountains in China to meet some of these hermits and learn about their way of life. This resulted in his publishing the work titled Road to Heaven: Encounters with Chinese Hermits in 1993. 25 years later, Bill Porter travelled back to the same mountains to see if life there had changed. The outcome of this particular trip was a documentary titled Hermit, about a modern-day journey into the heart of the hermit tradition in China. This is a must watch documentary with so much to learn to enhance our lives which will give us hope as we are all drowning in materialism’s false promises.~Tsem Rinpoche

Wrathful Dakini Ucchusma-In the form of wrathful dakini, Ucchusma has 3 eyes; with both hands holding a vase with nectar at her heart level, her hair loose, and no ornaments. She wears a garment of black silk, with two legs, feet together, standing on a lotus and sun disc. This deity functions to remove negative energy and pollutions from body, speech and mind. The practice was conferred by a Dakini to Drupangsa. -Mantra: Om ar-kham zir-kam bu-ma-na-se ou-cus-ha-ma ma-ha tro-da hung phet

It is challenging and fun where they use their nose, paws and all to dig and find the snacks in between. This dog play carpet is ordered online. You can see little Zopa baby who is a Kechara resident doggie looking for the snacks in this cute video. She is kept busy and entertained! Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
