Reuters have published an article sharing my prayers for reconciliation in Asia to continue. May there be peace and prosperity in Asia and the world.

The reconciliation of our differences is what will bring true harmony to the world. In our day and age, there are many differences and troubles that we have inherited from the past and are trying to overcome. But what will make the most impact in the world is how we deal with them now, so our future can be better and we can leave a truly beneficial and lasting legacy. What we must remember is that our humanity transcends all concepts of me and you, us and them, race, religion, background, age, where in the world we live, and all the other labels that we think keeps us separated. When we keep this in mind, we can begin to bridge the gap that divides us to create real peace and harmony. It is this spirit of humanity and reconciliation that has begun to flourish this past month in Asia, and I hope and pray that it continues for the benefit of all.

On April 27, 2018, something happened that no one could have foreseen, and that is North and South Korea held meetings to heal their relationship. Since fighting in the Korean War ended in 1953, the countries have had a turbulent relationship. In fact, technically speaking, both countries have remained at war for the last 65 years because no peace treaty was ever signed, only an armistice. So the meeting of North and South Korea’s leaders is something that no one could have imagined happening, but it did. The leaders of both countries want to heal the divide that has kept their people separated, and now want to become friends. For these two countries to overcome the huge obstacles for this historic meeting to take place is monumental.

Similarly, two other Asian countries, India and China have started to become friends after decades of tense relations. They are now firmly on the road to mending their differences for the betterment of all. Recently, we have seen Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India visit President Xi Jinping of China for an informal summit to begin the reconciliation process. Prime Minister Modi was so keen to meet with President Xi, he moved his trip up forwards, travelling to Beijing earlier than planned. Again, this was not something that we could have imagined happening, but these two leaders are thinking ahead for the future. China and India are both economic and political powerhouses within Asia and between them they are responsible for 35% of the world’s population. For them to be at conflict will not help themselves nor any of the countries surrounding them; to reconcile and work together is the only mutually beneficial way going forwards.

While harmony will not be achieved overnight in both Sino-Indian relations and North-South Korea relations, it is a step in the right direction. No one wants to live amidst fear, disagreement, mistrust, and anticipation of the worst. However, both these examples show the beginnings of a positive change in the world, which I sincerely hope continues.

In the same vein, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has begun to heal the divide within the Tibetan community. His recent statements on April 25, 2018, indirectly acknowledging the China-backed Panchen Lama, is a golden olive branch of peace and reconciliation needed to repair the rift between the Tibetan community in-exile and the Chinese leadership. Using the historical example of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, who had five simultaneous reincarnations, His Holiness alluded to the fact that both Panchen Lamas can be genuine reincarnations of His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama. He called the Chinese-backed Panchen Lama the ‘official Panchen Lama’, and even stated the Panchen Lama that he himself recognised is alive and well, and receiving a good education. His remarks therefore effectively ended 22 years of Tibetan protests against China for their alleged mistreatment of the boy.

With such news of reconciliation it goes to show that overcoming differences is possible, and all we need to do is think of how to create a better future for ourselves and one another. For world leaders to strive and overcome obstacles for such a beneficial change, something like the Dorje Shugden issue should be easier to resolve. For decades, Dorje Shugden practitioners have been ostracised, discriminated against, and shunned from the Tibetan community. If His Holiness can make such a statement about the Panchen Lama, it would be just as easy for His Holiness to speak and end the ban on Dorje Shugden, as I outlined in my letter of appeal, ending another suffering amongst an already-divided Tibetan community.

Unity and cooperation is what will preserve us into the future, whereas differences will only cause heartache. It is through reconciliation that this can be achieved and this is what I pray will continue to happen. I thank Reuters for publishing my thoughts on what is happening in the world today, and I humbly request the Tibetan leadership, governments around the world, and everyone to please put an end to differences and embrace something higher, unity and peace. Nothing good has ever come about through differences, but love, compassion, wisdom and reconciliation will make the world a better place. When such events take place, we must support and encourage them to continue. That is why I offer my prayers for not just Asia, but the whole world.

I offer my heartfelt and deepest prayers that the reconciliation processes between nations and peoples continue, and unnecessary suffering in all its forms ends. Let us look to our humanity and transcend what separates us.

With folded hands,
Tsem Rinpoche

Addendum

Central Tibetan Administration’s Website

Below is a screenshot of Tibet.net, which is the Tibetan leadership’s website. In it, they have a section with “information” about Dorje Shugden which is designed to promote hatred, negativity and direct vulgarities towards Shugden practitioners. What kind of democratic leadership has a section like this on their site targeting a religious group? Imagine the uproar there would be if the American or Canadian, or any other democratic government had sections like this on their site for the public!

His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Website

This is a screenshot of DalaiLama.com which is the official website of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. When this section exists on His Holiness’ website, it actually emboldens Tibetans to discriminate against and segregate Shugden practitioners. This section is basically the Dalai Lama’s ‘endorsement’ of such behaviour; when anti-Shugden individuals see this, they think it is okay to segregate against the practice “because the Dalai Lama said so”. I don’t think the Dalai Lama would agree with this but the webmaster and shadow writers behind his website should not put this type of anti-Dorje Shugden section which subscribes to discrimination against a group because of religion. In the 21st century, this is not fitting of a great spiritual leader like His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Do not discriminate tolerate; is the way to go.

If the Dorje Shugden ban is just advice and not a ban, then why is a section like this necessary on any website?

Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile’s Resolution Stating Government Employees Should Not Rely on Dorje Shugden

In 1996, the Tibetan leadership passed a resolution stating that all departments (and ergo their employees) should not rely on Dorje Shugden (point 8). The resolution also stated that individuals who do engage in its worship will harm the Dalai Lama’s life and the so-called Tibetan cause. That being the case, how will anyone within the Tibetan settlements and government be able to openly engage in Dorje Shugden practice after that, if their worship has been widely labelled as anti-Dalai Lama, anti-CTA and treasonous? To openly practice after that will leave them open to criticism, vulgarities, harassment and discrimination, as Dorje Shugden practitioners have been for the last 20 years. So they will be left with three options: to give up the practice (which many will not do), to practice secretly, or to give up their jobs.

Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile’s Resolution Naming Dorje Shugden Practitioners as Criminals in History

This is a screenshot of tibet.net, the Central Tibetan Administration’s official website, which shows the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile’s unanimous resolution dated 17 March 2014 naming Dorje Shugden practitioners as criminals in history (point 3, paragraph 2).

The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile passed a resolution on 17 March 2014 naming all Dorje Shugden practitioners as criminals in history.

The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile passed a resolution on 17 March 2014 naming all Dorje Shugden practitioners as “criminals in history”. On what basis can the Tibetan leadership condemn all Dorje Shugden believers, including the elderly, infirm, young, and those not of Tibetan nationality, as criminals?

VIDEO: Dalai Lama bans Dorje Shugden practice
and expels monks

His Holiness the Dalai Lama was recorded in Drepung Monastery in 2008 clearly stating that those who refused to give up their Dorje Shugden practice should be expelled from the monasteries. His Holiness even said that if people found it difficult to fulfill this instruction, that they should say that the Dalai Lama told them to expel Dorje Shugden practitioners.

My question is this: if giving up Dorje Shugden practice is just advice, and it is up to us who we wish to rely on, then why are there such heavy repercussions for people who choose to keep the practice? As a result of His Holiness saying this, thousands of Shugden monks were expelled from the monasteries, and were forced to set up their own monasteries where they would be able to continue their Dorje Shugden practice.

VIDEO: Gaden Monastery Attacked

Since the inception of the Dorje Shugden ban 20 years ago, the CTA (Central Tibetan Administration) continues to organize a hateful campaign against Dorje Shugden practitioners. In doing so, the Tibetan leadership has gone against the very core teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama on compassion and tolerance and thereby, misled the world over the nature of their activities. The Tibetan leadership pursues huge sponsorship and financial aid from the West in order to run its operations but they actually channel these funds towards campaigns that suppresses religious freedom within the Tibetan communities through various means to instigate violent suppression against Dorje Shugden practitioners.

This video footage shows clearly how Dorje Shugden practitioners have lived their lives in fear for the last 20 years due to the ban on Dorje Shugden. Although the Tibetan leadership and supporters have continued to use various violent and underhanded means to segregate and discriminate Dorje Shugden practitioners, the practitioners themselves have not fought back. Instead, they continue to uphold their peaceful reliance on their Dorje Shugden lineage lamas and especially the practices and teachings they have received in relations to the protector deity. The main part of the video was filmed in 2000 and it shows 3,000 lay and ordained Tibetans heading towards Gaden Shartse Monastery in South India in order to riot against a group of Dorje Shugden practitioners.

France 24 is a reputable news network based in France, known for their objective reporting style. They covered the Dorje Shugden issue extensively, surely a reflection of the seriousness of the issue for them to devote so much airtime to it. In their video, France 24 captured on film the discrimination against a Dorje Shugden monk.

VIDEO: Al Jazeera reports on the Dorje Shugden issue

Based in the Middle East, Al Jazeera was formed in response to the heavy influence of Western culture on the media. They are known to cover controversial topics that other news agencies may be reluctant to cover, and provide hard-hitting, objective coverage of current affairs.

Evidence of the Ban

Over the years, my students have collected evidence of the ban against Dorje Shugden. Personally, I find it quite disappointing and sad that they have been able to collect so much evidence because it just goes to show how widespread and pervasive this ban has become. As you can see below, notices banning Dorje Shugden practitioners can be found just about anywhere in the Tibetan settlements. Whether a Dorje Shugden person is trying to access healthcare or enter a restaurant, or try to buy something from a shop, they are banned everywhere and refused service. How is this just ‘advice’ when the repercussions of practising Dorje Shugden are so violent inside the Tibetan communities and settlements?

    Dear friends,

Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.

You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.

Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.

May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

COMPASSION at its best: His Holiness the Dalai Lama explained in Ladakh, 31 July 2018:

“Usually at the beginning of an empowerment there is a ritual to drive away interferences. But I no longer feel it’s consistent to regard some beings as evil forces. At the start of each day I cultivate altruism, but in the evening we say, ‘May the evil forces be driven away.’ There seems to be a contradiction here that I’m no longer keen to comply with. I’m not highly realized, but I have great confidence in the power of Bodhichitta.”

    Source: https://bit.ly/2wVsqSb

    ———————————————-

This latest statement by His Holiness the Dalai Lama is excellent. I fully believe in his compassion and I hope he will fully implement it.

All negative beings take rebirth with negative minds due to deep attachments. The attachments result in negative states of rebirth and angry minds that carry out harmful actions, like spirits or hungry ghosts who can be very bothersome because they are very angry as they died in the state of attachment in their former rebirths.

Indeed we need to generate compassion towards these beings, especially the formless type, as it would be the best remedy to stop their harm. We can recite mantras with love and bless them with it. While reciting prayers, we can meditate on them being at peace. When we generate compassion towards these harmful interferences of the formless type, many of them will calm down and stop their harm and even go away. Some of them, you can talk to them and subdue their harm and they will stop harming completely if they feel your love. That is how you can help them.

Many high masters of India and Tibet generated great compassion towards certain ghosts, spirits or interferers and subdued them in this manner and even made them into protectors of regions. I’ve witnessed this with one of my lamas where he subdued a female spirit that crossed over the Himalayas. After making the spirit promise it will not harm others, my lama gave the spirit a drink to seal the promise.

Since the Dalai Lama has manifested saying Dorje Shugden is negative (although many high lamas disagree), then he can apply this method to Dorje Shugden. He can ‘subdue’ Dorje Shugden by generating tremendous love, prayers and talking nice to Dorje Shugden who will be ‘subdued’. Then people are henceforth ‘free’ to practice Dorje Shugden without more discrimination, segregation and being called degrading names for practicing this protector.

Give peace a chance. His Holiness the Dalai Lama can generate great love towards Dorje Shugden and all the hundreds of thousands of Dorje Shugden practitioners that love the Dalai Lama and miss him like I do. May His Holiness the Dalai Lama bring peace and heal the rift with Dorje Shugden practitioners.

May His Holiness live very long and always be healthy,

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

    Dear Kecharians and friends,

Last night, I gave a teaching to a group of people who were in Kechara Forest Retreat. I shared with them the correct way to pray for our loved ones and why we shouldn’t “demand” Dorje Shugden with fulfilling our wishes but let Dorje Shugden decide what is the best outcome. He has infinite Manjushri wisdom beyond our own and we should trust this wisdom. Sometimes what we pray for is not what should be fulfilled. Sometimes what we don’t want turns out to be the better result in the future.

I also shared with them about a beautiful monk, Tsawa Pulthok Rinpoche, who was jailed and badly tortured by the soldiers for 19 years, starting back in 1959 in Lhasa, and yet he has no anger towards his torturers. He was released and had resettled in Nepal where I met him. For the remainder of his life, he spent his time in meditation, retreats and pujas for the public until he passed. He was glowing, happy and very proud of the fact he was a student of His Holiness Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche, which he told me when we met. He did full meditations on Vajra Yogini and short puja to Dorje Shugden daily in his small room in Kathmandu, Nepal where I had to honor to join in his prayers. He told me he was very happy to have his room to do his meditations, pujas and prayers openly. Whatever happened to him, he accepted as part of his karma and he spent much time in prison meditating and quietly teaching dharma to his other cellmates. He was very much respected in prison in Lhasa because he never showed anger, always meditated and consoled others, giving them great strength. He endured much hardship, torture and beatings but he never lost his monk vows. His full understanding of karma helped him not feel any anger or bitterness towards the soldiers. He told me that daily, he would meditate that the karma of others in prison would come to him. That all the torture and abuse he received was so others in prison did not have to suffer this. He said suffering for others was what kept him going and made him be able to endure the pain.

We are not bound by our experiences. We are bound by our choice. I also reminded those were present about the good person inside each and every one of us, and how we should not “bury” this good person with our excuses because the more excuses we give, the deeper this good person is buried and soon the layers of excuses will make it very difficult for us to find this good person. We are all beautiful good people and we should not let it get lost by lying, laziness, lack of integrity and procrastination. We all have a choice. If we have to make excuses, we should choose to make excuses to be a winner. When we win, we make ourselves happy and those around us happy.

The teaching session went well and it was spontaneous, and I requested the people who live and work in and around Kechara Forest Retreat for the talk. We had some good laughs to during the talk.

    Thank you,
    Tsem Rinpoche

‘If we trust in karma which exists, then there is no reason for anger’.

“If the Dalai Lama, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden, then we might as well not practice Buddhism anymore. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his life shortened by a so-called evil spirit, any evil spirit, then can he be Avalokiteshvara? So on one hand you say, we say, I say, everybody says, he is Avalokiteshvara; on the other hand you’re saying that he can be harmed by an evil spirit… Which one is it? Can he be harmed by an evil spirit or is he Avalokiteshvara? Do you think Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Tara all take refuge in something else to protect themselves from Dorje Shugden? How illogical is that? How illogical of people to say His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by an evil spirit, any evil spirit or “Dorje Shugden” evil spirit. How is that possible?” – Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

Listening to the chanting of sacred words, melodies, mantras, sutras and prayers has a very powerful healing effect on our outer and inner environments. It clears the chakras, spiritual toxins, the paths where our ‘chi’ travels within our bodies for health as well as for clearing the mind. It is soothing and relaxing but at the same time invigorates us with positive energy. The sacred sounds invite positive beings to inhabit our environment, expels negative beings and brings the sound of growth to the land, animals, water and plants. Sacred chants bless all living beings on our land as well as inanimate objects. Do download and play while in traffic to relax, when you are about to sleep, during meditation, during stress or just anytime. Great to play for animals and children. Share with friends the blessing of a full Dorje Shugden puja performed at Kechara Forest Retreat by our puja department for the benefit of others. Tsem Rinpoche

How can a nun curse someone they do not even know and wish the person to die quickly and be born in hell? What kind of nun is this? Shocking! What more she’s cursing a Buddhist teacher and a monk?! Is this the face of Bhutanese Buddhist?

This is so shameful for her as a nun, her teacher, her monastery, her country and her King. A sangha should not behave in such a manner. A Sangha should carry enlightened Buddha’s teachings of compassion and wisdom to benefit all sentient beings.

A Sangha is not supposed to promote hatred and certainly should not be cursing or wishing another person to die. That wish itself is already breaking one of the vows.
A Sangha is one of the 3 Jewels, an object of refuge. They should not behave like an uncivilized person with so much hate. This is how bad the Tibetan Leadership has spread their lies and hate about Dorje Shugden and Shugden Buddhist practitioners.

Reconciliation prayers for Asia, is a must to heal all the rifts that have separated communities and countries from one another. What has happened between North and South Korea is nothing short of a miracle, at the same time India and China are working together to build a better Asia and world.

So may such sparks of reconciliation spread all across the world to heal and bring together communities separated by dogma, ideals and so forth. Thank you very to Rinpoche’s initiatives for his prayers to bring about more harmony in our world.

The positive change of many big countries is good sign that this world will be less suffering. Reuters post Tsem Rinpoche’s article will create much awareness to the world leaders and change their mindset to be compassion.
We must end the sufferings of Tibetan on Dorje Shugden Ban in Tibet. Dalai Lama should be the right person to promote harmony and peace within Tibetan exile community and China.
We must remember that only harmony and peace will alleviate sufferings of people and this is what we want to see in future.
Rinpoche’s sharing really inspired many people to change their mindset and become a better person.
    Thanks Rinpoche.

Rejoice for all the wonderful news on the current political platform in the world. It is with great joy to see the 65 years armistice between North and South Korea come to an end. Not only that we now see the reconciliation between India and China, the declaration of HH Dalai Lama in recognising the China backed Pachen Lama as reincarnation of 10th Panchen Lama. With this recognition, it will help to unite the separated Tibetans.

Everyone is different in many ways but that doesn’t stop us from uniting and become as one. We should pray and work towards a peaceful and harmony communities. May HH Dalai Lama resolve the Dorje Shugden ban and stop the discrimination against the practitioners.

Reading news of positive changes happening to countries brought about by farsighted leaders are indeed a refreshing change to news like mass shooting or oppressive policies that affected the lives of many. If decades-old rivalry between the North and South Korea as well as Sino-India can melt away to allow for cooperation and collaboration, all Asian will be able to benefit from these movements! People, in general, perhaps have came to realise that blind ego to pettily defend their race and nations will not help in moving forward. Even though it is a long way to go before we can see an Asia without barriers, I hope leaders of the world, including religious leaders, like His Holiness the Dalai Lama would work towards this vision for the people. The big picture is overall betterment which cannot be achieved and sustained if each for its own. Fighting for divide and instigating segregation is damaging. Thank you Rinpoche for this meaningful prayer; may Asia be peaceful, harmony and prosperous.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing your thoughts about upholding the spirit of humanity and reconciliation to bridge the gap among the differences we have in respective races, religions, background and age that label us of who we are but after all, we belong to the same human species on earth. As our technology is advancing day by day, the digital world has brought all people to a closer distance in communication and interaction, where it is more important now for everyone to cultivate peace and harmony among others regardless of any difference we have individually, instead creating more gaps and differences that can separate us unnecessarily.

When both leaders from North and South Korea started to mend the ties and exchanged views between the two countries after 65 years of conflict, and followed by the informal summit between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Wuhan, China, these historical moments have sent strong wave of messages to the entire world that it is possible to reconcile and resolve all the past conflicts and issues in order to restore the peace and harmony for future growth and better living for their own nations. Comparatively to the conflict or the ban of Dorje Shugden issue, which only involves within Tibetan Buddhists, this conflict can be resolved in a much faster and simpler way by having mutual dialogue session among His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and Dorje Shugden practitioners. In the current advanced technology age, there is no human conflict that cannot be resolved unless certain party does not want to resolve the conflict on purpose.

Many Dorje Shugden practitioners have suffered enough upon the ban of Dorje Shugden was officially declared by CTA for more than 20 years ago. May every Buddhist and all practitioners able to live in peace and harmony together while practicing towards achieving higher attainments and ultimately enlightenment, heading to the direction of no more suffering.

Thank you Reuters for publishing His Eminence Tsem Tulku Rinpoche’s message and thoughts for world peace among all the country leaders. May the world peace will become a reality very soon.

I truly rejoice that in the midst of rapid and rampant change that has shown strong inclination towards materialism and self-orientation, spirituality remains a beacon of light and hope that reminds us of what is possible when there is willingness to think of others and take a step forward together for the betterment of others.

It is an honor to witness these historical events and I thank Rinpoche for highlighting these meaningful benchmarks of humanity to us. May differences continue to melt away and oneness protect and nurture the humanity within each and everyone of us. May Dorje Shugden practitioners everywhere enjoy the freedom of practice and faith.

Time has changed for the better, from what we can see North and South Korea amended ties recently. North Korea’s Kim Jong Un and South Korea’s Moon Jae-in met for the first time in more than a decade. This is possible and it has been said, ‘time heals all wounds. Both countries were at dead lock over war. They are ready to facilitate cooperation, denuclearization and settlement of peace . India and China too have seen amend their relationship after decades of tense relations. All these are possible , so with HH Dalai Lama to recognise China-backed Panchen Lama, clearly show that nothing is impossible which has then ended 22 years Tibetan protests against China. Hopefully more great news to come regarding of the Dorje Shugden controversy with HH Dalai Lama agree to a historic face-to-face meeting with China. What ever differences can be solved through peaceful dialogue. Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing and thank you Reuters for publishing Rinpoche’s thoughts of reconciliation prayers for Asia peace and true harmony to continue. May the Dorje Shugden issue be resolved soon.

Look at the current trend, the North Korea and South Korea had met up, India and China too, why not Tibetans? Even H.H Dalai Lama have the intention to be friend with China. Why does the CTA still hold on to split their own Tibetans community by enforcing Dorje Shugden’s ban?

If the CTA truly follow the actions of H.H Dalai Lama, they should not impose further on Dorje Shugden’s ban, in fact they should immediately remove the ban. Through this action, the world would than believe that the CTA truly followed what have H.H Dalai Lama said and truly want to repair their relationship with China. China, do not allowed any religion discrimination in China. And as in written in the article, H.H Panchen Lama himself is the practitioner of Dorje Shugden. Thus, to continue the ban it meant that the CTA do not have the intention to let H.H Dalai Lama repair the relationship with China.

I sincerely thanks Reuters for publishing the prayer from H.E Tsem Rinpoche. I thanks H.E Tsem Rinpoche for being brave to openly talked about Dorje Shugden and bring awareness to the world on what is happening to the Tibetan Refugees and urge to lift the ban.

    Thank you Rinpoche

We should applied the lessons that we learned from history where the people suffered a lot and the damage caused by destructive war previously. Because of the war, the countries have to spend more time and money rebuild the city, road, facilities and etc. However, the countries should utilised the time to strengthen the cooperation and communication, think of benefit each other and achieve win-win situation as well as ensuring no one will get hurt or suffer.

Thank you Rinpoche for inspiring us to be kind and compassion in practice for the benefit of all sentient beings.

Recently there were big improvements in Sino-India relations, North-South Korea relations and Dalai Lama endorsed Chinese-backed Panchen Lama as official one. The world leaders have taking first step to make peace. The world leaders are now creating new possibilities for reaching greater understanding and opening dialogue across continuing differences.

Just as what Tsem Rinpoche said, unity and cooperation is what preserve us into the future. These examples are great beginning of positive changes in the world. We sincerely hope that H.H the Dalai Lama will soon expand his compassion and kindness to Dorje Shugden practitioners too.

All leaders around the world should unite people and promote peace, because every country now has big weapons, and at a wrong press of button, things can get really bad. Therefore, it really warms my heart when we see countries who have conflicts sit and find ways to resolve the matter. Just few days ago, we see North Korea and South Korea shocked hand and we all hope more countries would choose peace over hate.

With this trend, as Dorje Shugden practitioner, I pray that Dorje Shugden issue (which is created out of no where) can be quickly resolved, and the Tibetans within the refugee camps in India can move on with their lives with peace towards each other. I pray very much on that.

Thank you Rinpoche for teaching us kindness in this new era. 🙏🙏

First, it was North and South Korea shaking hands after decades of hostility. Then, we saw the India and China slowly warming up to each other. After that, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama made a stunning endorsement of the Chinese-backed Panchen Lama. I hope that His Holiness’ recent endorsement will soon lead to acceptance of Dorje Shugden practice and lifting the decades-old ban.

Thank you, Rinpoche for consistently keeping the world in your prayers. Thank you, Reuters for publishing Rinpoche’s prayer for reconciliation. It is such an inspiration to see how tirelessly Rinpoche strive to make this world a better place through his teachings, sharing, voice of reason and prayers.

  32. Datuk May on May 5, 2018 at 3:28 pm

H.E the 25th Tsem Rinpoche is never a Buddhist Monk to be politically inclined and to give any opinions that will divide nations and people throughout the world, except to advocate Love, Compassion and Acceptance to eliminate the “divides” which create disharmony and suffering of the human race and to have peace and prosperity.

Nations and people have inherited grudges and disagreements created in the history and bygone eras, and as advised by Rinpoche do not serve to bring world peace.

In recent history played out in the 21st century the unification of West and East Germany and that of North and South Vietnam have brought unity and prosperity to these two nations. Now with imminent reconciliation of North and South Korea and the ice breaking friendship of two big Asian powers, India and China, the world will be a better place to live in.

Having said that, to unite Tibetans towards harmony is but an easy task, as one of the major divide among Tibetans is the worship of Dorje Shugden which is banned by the Dalai Lama. Now that the Dalai Lama have taken the initial step of recognising the 11th Panchen Lama who is backed by the Chinese Government, it gets to be easier to lift the Ban on Dorje Shugden as the Chinese Government grants religious freedom and Dorje Shugden practice in Tibet is encouraged. With this over cheer from the Dalai Lama, may the Chinese authorities exercise the grace to grant the Dalai Lama’s wish to return to Tibet. And may the Dalai Lama lift the ban on Dorje Shugden in support of the Chinese authority’s stand on religious freedom.

Appreciation to Reuter for publishing H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche’s wisdom call for the world to step towards world peace and prosperity for all nations.

Thank you Rinpoche for the foresight to world peace, something which Rinpoche always keep in mind for the betterment of sentient beings.

It is time for reconciliation between Dorje Shugden practitioners and non-Dorje Shugden practitioners. I am glad that I’m part of the history in the making. Let’s us all put down our personal interest aside, but for pray and work hard for peace and unity to be restored back in this world and we deserve it as we are one of the citizens in this world. Let’s not forget that “life is short”. What’s else do we strive for if not for this?

    Thank you Rinpoche.

    – Opening our minds to universal wisdom so we can develop clarity of mind, understanding and penetrative insight.

Mr. John Blofeld who was one of the early Westerners whose genuine interest in Buddhism and the philosophies of the east manifested in his books. His books in turn opened the doorway for the west to be introduced to the vast wisdom of the east, especially from China and Tibet. China’s form of Buddhism is indeed profound and produced countless great masters and practitioners in the last thousand years. China’s culture, customs, way of life, food, writing, dance, music, architecture, inventions and so on have been immense and the impact they have had on the world is beyond measure. China is indeed a great and ancient civilisation.

It’s amazing how one man can plant the trees all by himself and made into a huge forest. So much dedication to the love of nature and environment. I am sure this is not an easy task and require a lot of passion and determination to reach where it is today. Really hope that government will support him in all areas such as financial, human resource and etc. All of us have the responsibility to take care of our environment and we need to do something to save the world for our next generation.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this inspiring article.

This is great idea. Many people live in the high rise buildings nowadays and will usually avoid any plantation. But planting in small container is convenient and very manageable. We can plant some herbs and we can use it for our cooking too. Everyone likes healthy food and organic style. With this method, we can at least produce some easy to plant herbs, and leafy vegetables. Also it is a healthy hobby to engage too.

China is such a powerful country. They can even turn vast barren desert land into a dense forest. Such achievements is remarkable and it proves to us that the earth can regenerate itself if we are willing to work with it.

Beijing suffers from one of the worst case of air pollution. It is clever for the Chinese government to have a future sight and started planting trees in Saihanba. Hence, now they have a vast forest that significantly reduces the occurrence of sandstorm in the city of Beijing.

Many people in different countries has started to notice the importance of forest on their lands and started the process of reforestation. Many have success in their stories and each of them have made an impact on the environment and making the earth a better place to live.

I like this article about living in a minimalist style. Everyday we are being planted with ideas of getting more things, material, staying in bigger house, getting a bigger car and list goes on. It is never enough. The more we are being influence by all these possession, the more we have to work to get money. It is never enough to satisfy our wanting.

I like the idea of 90 day rule. It’s true that we sometimes don’t need such items but bought it due to advertisement influence. It’s important for us to de-clutter our belongings. When our living area is clean and tidy, our mind will follow suit. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article.

Power Struggle at Dalai Lama’s Potala Palace – Tibet

Each Dalai Lama is a unique individual, they have been philosophers, builders and even poets, and as each is revered as a Bodhisattva who possess great mystical powers and can incarnate life after life, every Dalai Lama has great potential to benefit many beings by disseminating Buddhism and safeguarding his fellow countrymen. This can be seen clearly as His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has been a charismatic global spiritual teacher whose teachings are timeless and translated into many languages.

Have you seen this unique house before?

This 5-story apartment building in Turin, Italy Is disguised in potted forest of trees and branching steel beams. Designed by Luciano Pia, this creation transforms Turin’s homogeneous urban scene and blows life into the residential building.

The structure creates a transition from outdoors to in, with 150 trees absorbing close to 200,000 liters of carbon dioxide per hour. Each species of plant has been purposefully chosen from plant life in Turin to provide the diversity in color, foliage, and blooming.

Ku Shulan was born in 1920 to a poor peasant family in a small Chinese village called Wang in Xunyi County, Shaanxi province. At the age of 9, her feet were bound by her mother and after leaving school at 15, she began to learn embroidery and jianzhi (papercutting) as part of her training for marriage. She was married at the age of 17 to a husband who regularly abused her throughout their life together, and gave birth to 13 children, 10 of whom died of starvation or disease before they reached adulthood.

In spite of the extraordinary privations and hardships she endured, Ku Shulan, who never learned to read and write, persisted with her papercutting throughout her adult life and in 1980, her extraordinary talent in jianzhi was discovered by Shanxi Province Cultural Center, after which she was invited to teach and direct papercutting in her province. Soon after, her reputation rose immensely, and Ku was bestowed many domestic awards. In 1996, Ku was designated “Master of China Folk Art and Crafts” by UNESCO. Ku Shulan died in 2004 aged 84, but her popularity and reputation continue to grow.

Every year, during the first and seventh months of the Chinese lunar calendar, the Wealth God temple in Kampung Perting and the Indian temples in Bentong organise processions of the Taoist and Hindu deities in Bentong town. Mediums of these gods take trance and walk together with their devotees, blessing the public along the streets. To show the presence of the gods in trance, some of the mediums pierced their cheeks with long metal skewers throughout the event. This has been a tradition of Bentong for many years. As the mediums walked by during the recent procession, without being prompted or told, the mediums in trance of the gods themselves purposely stopped and paid homage to Dorje Shugden while passing the Bigfoot store.

Similarly to human being, the gods and local deities need blessings too. They want to be liberated from Samsara and they know Dorje Shugden can guide them towards enlightenment. There is no doubt Dorje Shugden is an enlightened being and his compassion is for all sentient beings.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

Find one of the most beautiful temples in the world in Nara, Japan. It is the 1,267 year old Todai-ji temple that houses a 15 meter Buddha Vairocana statue who is a cosmic and timeless Buddha. Emperor Shomu who sponsored this beautiful temple eventually abdicated and ordained as a Buddhist monk. Very interesting history and story. Living off the grid in Australia
A Jill Redwood is a jack of all trades, Jill built her own house on her property and lives entirely off the grid with no mains power or town water, mobile reception or television. Living on around $80 a week, Jill has over sixty animals to keep her company and an abundant garden that out serves as an organic supermarket right at her doorstep. Her main expenses are animal feed and the rates on her property. Watch this incredible three minute video and be inspired to live differently.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
