Dear Dalai Lama, please read this

Dear friends,

I do not like nor enjoy conflict of any sort. Why would anyone enjoy conflict? I enjoy having a good relationship with others as much as possible. But sometimes a situation is so bad, many people are suffering because of it and it’s hard to stand idly by and pretend nothing is happening. I have been practicing the holy protector Dorje Shugden for over 30 years. It was given to me by my root teacher His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. It was given to me for no other purpose except for spiritual purposes. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche had passed away at 81 and he had practiced Dorje Shugden his whole life. He was bestowed this practice by his root guru also and who practiced for his whole life and so on. This lineage stems back 400 years. Suddenly we are told with weak reasonings that Dorje Shugden is negative, harmful and will hurt His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Tibet and the Tibetan people! You mean for four hundred years so many great lamas and practitioners were fooled by Dorje Shugden to think he was good and only suddenly now he is bad? That does not make sense at all. How can so many great lamas be fooled? Not possible.

Many families are torn apart by this. The ban instituted by the Tibetan Leadership (CTA) headquartered in Dharamsala, North India has instituted this ban against Dorje Shugden for the last 20 years. They say those who do not practice Dorje Shugden may not associate with Dorje Shugden people. Amazing as that sounds, that is the situation. Dorje Shugden people had to break away from their monasteries of Sera, Drepung and Gaden re-established new monasteries because suddenly after a lifetime of being in their home monasteries, they are not allowed anymore because they continue to practice Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden people may not attend any activities by the Tibetan exiled government (CTA), nor join public events with others Tibetans. The children of Dorje Shugden practitioners may not attend any Tibetan schools. Dorje Shudgden followers may not enter into Tibetan hospitals or any facilities. Even restaurants and shops may not be entered into and signs are posted barring them. This is modern religious apartheid and prejudice based on religious discrimination. Pure discrimination straightforward. Why is the Tibetan leadership discriminating against a group of their own people? They like to say untrue as it is that Dorje Shugden people are minorities. All the more so we should not discriminate against a religious minority. All request for talks and discussion are refused completely. It’s basically their way or the highway.

Recently, I have been open and vocal about my practice. As a result I am attacked and threatened online and insulted daily by Tibetans and their non-Tibetan friends whom I have never met. I don’t know them nor they know me. Yet they can attack me only because I practice Dorje Shugden in the 21st Century. These non-Tibetans who attack me and many other Shugden people online are from countries that are democratic and they enjoy full religious freedom. I say, if there is no ban or discrimination, then why am I attacked and insulted online daily just for my religious beliefs? Who started this negative rhetoric against Dorje Shugden practitioners? Of course the Tibetan leadership. The Tibetan leadership can easily publish online and issue instructions to the Tibetans not to discriminate against Dorje Shugden practitioners. If they did so, the attacks would stop overnight and so will the discrimination. But they don’t and they remain quiet.

So these picture messages (memes) are to educate and highlight the heavy-handed discrimination that we as Dorje Shugden practitioners are experiencing worldwide among so many of us, many of whom are without a voice. I am not qualified to be their voice, but I voice for myself and them. I wish no disrespect to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the CTA or any persons. But I would like the unjust ban against Dorje Shugden to stop immediately and harmony to be restored like it was prior to the ban. I have no ill-feelings toward His Holiness the Dalai Lama; in fact, I miss seeing him. But H.H. the Dalai Lama said any persons of any religion (including Wiccans, witchcraft, voodoo, Satanists, Jews, Christians, Hindus, Taoists, Shintos, etc.) can attend his talks, but only Dorje Shugden people must stay away. I was indeed saddened by this. Why are we the only ones and targeted?

I wish no harm to His Holiness whatsoever. I would like to request humbly for the unjust ban against the worship of Dorje Shugden to end. I fold my hands in respect and offer a white clean and pure khata to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and beg him to lift the ban against Dorje Shugden practitioners. Please instruct your people to stop discriminating against Dorje Shugden practitioners please.

    Dear friends,

Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.

You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.

Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.

May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

“If the Dalai Lama, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden, then we might as well not practice Buddhism anymore. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his life shortened by a so-called evil spirit, any evil spirit, then can he be Avalokiteshvara? So on one hand you say, we say, I say, everybody says, he is Avalokiteshvara; on the other hand you’re saying that he can be harmed by an evil spirit… Which one is it? Can he be harmed by an evil spirit or is he Avalokiteshvara? Do you think Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Tara all take refuge in something else to protect themselves from Dorje Shugden? How illogical is that? How illogical of people to say His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by an evil spirit, any evil spirit or “Dorje Shugden” evil spirit. How is that possible?” – Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

Beautiful and creative memes paints us a thousand words. For the last 20 years or so , the ban on Dorje Shugden instituted by the Tibetan Leadership (CTA) has cause more harm than anything else. Families and monasteries were torn apart , disharmony, discrimination , segregation , services denied to name a few has cause pain, sufferings and sorrow. All these picture messages will some how high light to more people about the Dorje Shugden controversy. Hopefully these message get to HH Dalai Lama and Tibetans out there. HH Dalai Lama please read this and please lift the ban soon for the sake of the people.

This video condensed and made simple the history of the Dorje Shugden ban and the sufferings Dorje Shugden people experienced and continue to experience for 20 years. The video also laid out and reveal the truth and facts that Dorje Shugden was the Protector who advised His Holiness the Dalai Lama to flee to India and hence His Holiness’ life is saved. There is no religious freedom for the Dorje Shugden people worldwide because of the Dorje Shugden ban executed by the Central Tibetan Administration. We are, until today being discriminated and persecuted for simply practising our choice of religion and this is the truth.

  16. Valentina Suhendra on Jan 24, 2018 at 9:20 pm

In this video, a nice couple is being targeted and attacked just because they are pagan faith. They are Wiccan and the nice lady is a practising elemental witch, but they are being perceived to be bad people and hurting children, although none of that is true and they are being attacked for their faith. This is also another example of what Dorje Shugden people go through especially in Dharamsala, India because the Tibetan Leadership has put a notice on their official site stating that Shugden practitioners are bad and demon worshippers which is completely untrue. Hence, daily Shugden practitioners are being persecuted and if you are not there in Dharamsala, you get online abuse like what H.E. Tsem Rinpoche receives daily as well as myself and other Kecharians who are openly practising what our Guru gave us.

Is this kind of discrimination and violence acceptable in this day and age when there is religious freedom? Why are these people allowed to do this crime? Why is the Tibetan Leadership acting like a dictatorship and attacking others of a different faith? They do it indirectly and encourage this hatred because they do nothing, say nothing and have a page talking against Shugden on their official website. That is a clear indication there is a ban and discrimination against Shugden people.

  17. Valentina Suhendra on Jan 24, 2018 at 9:19 pm

In this video is a police officer being discriminated for his Wiccan religion and he is going to sue the state because he was told it was mandatory for him to attend a Christian gathering. There is supposed to be freedom of religion, so why is it okay for a group of people to force other people to join, pray and believe their religion? And what gives them the authority to tell people what to believe or not to believe in? This is a dictatorship type of leadership, not a democratic one at all. And this is exactly the same question I would like to ask the Tibetan Leadership and those who come on our social media wall to abuse us and call us names and vulgarities because we practice Dorje Shugden. Watch what the guy says in the video.

    https://video.tsemtulku.com/chat-videos/chat-1516798026.mp4

  18. Valentina Suhendra on Jan 24, 2018 at 9:19 pm

I’ve just attached a video here on a lady reading about “the Persecution of Women in Witchcraft”. It is stated that in the early 16th century there was a mass execution of witchcraft. In the year 1515 in Geneva Switzerland, they burned 500 witches at the stake. In 1526, 1000 witches in Italy were executed. In 1571 witch hunt spreads across France. In total it is estimated from 1500 – 1600, there were 50 – 80,000 suspected witches executed.

Religious persecution in any way is wrong, look at how many lives were taken because people decide to discriminate on others and persecute them just because they do not follow your belief system. This is exactly what Dorje Shugden practitioners are facing today as well when the Tibetan leadership keeps on harping and silently encouraging their people to discriminate and ostracised Shugden practitioners which we can see from all the above online abuse. Is this okay in this 21st century, is this what H.H. the Dalai Lama advocates – religious tolerance? I think not.

Everyone has rights to practise what they like. Those who practise witchcraft has their rights to practise but they are not allowed to voice out their concerns, fearing to be treated differently just like most Dorje Shugden people.

  20. Pastor Adeline Woon on Jan 24, 2018 at 9:18 pm

Taken away the rights to purchase items for witchcraft is the same as burning the witch for practising their religion. It is just a manifestation of different types of witch hunt and banning the sale of certain items is the same as stopping them from practising a certain ritual that is the same as taking their rights away. This scenario is the same as what Dorje Shugden people face also.

  21. Pastor Adeline Woon on Jan 24, 2018 at 9:18 pm

This is another proof of discrimination that is similar to Dorje Shugden people. The witchcraft people do not get to purchase their religious practise items online because there is no law that protects their rights on what they can purchase and what not they cannot.

Despite the founding fathers’ effort to give Americans religious freedom, the Wiccans and Pagans are denied their right, such as to have Chaplains to perform ceremonies, receiving books and materials and so on in prison. It is not fair and this is the kind of discrimination Dorje Shugden practitioners faces. Tibetans in exile are supposed to be ruled under democracy, but they are denied their rights of religious freedom. This is not fair.

  23. Pastor Shin Tan on Jan 24, 2018 at 9:12 pm

This is another example of religious discrimination. Wicca was accused to be related to Satan, which is not true. Wiccans are being rejected from being able to participate in the governmental system as they are not a member of the mainstream Judeo-Christian religion.Similarly, Dorje Shugden is accused to be a demon/ evil spirit, and that Shugden practitioners are not allowed to participate in the system – they cannot work in governmental jobs, they are denied travel documents, they are not denied medical treatment, and the members of the public are advised to not be associated with them.

This man’s dilemma is similar to what Dorje Shugden practitioners are experiencing. Even if the Dalai Lama has discouraged Dorje Shugden practice, those who choose to retain their practice should still have the right to do so without being penalized, without being discriminated, abused, attacked and harassed day in day out. Religious Freedom is every human’s right and should be respected, when the Tibetan Leadership stay silent when Shugden practitioners are being attacked, it is clear they condone it. So how can Tibetan Leadership claim to be democratic when they are not and how can they point the finger and blame others for human rights abuse when they do so themselves with their very own people? Illogical, injustice and unacceptable in this day and age!

This is similar to what Dorje Shugden practitioners are experiencing in Tibetan settlements. Once they are found out that they are a Dorje Shugden practitioner, they would be a target for discrimination (e.g., denied service in the public places), some even target attacked. And if you are not in Dharamsala, you will be targeted and attacked online with vulgarities and all kinds of derogatory slurs.

Any form of discrimination is wrong and should be discouraged and stopped. How can we discriminate people base on their religion, just because we dislike their religion? This is pure prejudice and hatred, so how can this be considered good and right for those executing such persecution? And this is exactly the same mentality the Tibetan Leadership has and encourage their people to attack Shugden practitioners. This is the kind of hatred that cause division, war, and suffering. How can one religion claim to be better than the other in the name of “God”? How can this be considered compassion?

Thank you, RInpoche, for these creatively designed and artistically represented memes. I like them very much as the memes cover many angles of the Dorje Shugden controversial, the forgotten pain and suffering, emotional distress, the strong yearning for the ban to be lifted so that DS practitioners can be reunited with the community and no longer isolated as an criminal just because they practice Dorje Shugden. The memes also show the different prespective to look at DS issue. We should not just look at it flatly without examining the facts.

I am a Dorje Shugden practitioner, i just wish to practice whatever my guru give to me. My guru spent his whole life for dharma. My guru always loving, kindness and compassion. I believe in what he taught and said simply because all is logic and most important is for others.

Dorje Shugden practice is very effective to remove obstacles in our spiritual path. I do not see any harm raise towards any party just because i practice Dorje Shugden. Why do i need to listen to some parties stop the practice? This is my voice from the bottom of my heart. I always gratitude to meet such holy person like my guru in my life and able to practice Dorje Shugden.

I will tell the persons i meet about my guru, about Dorje Shugden practice, about the ban. I believe people know how to judge. I will continue to tell everybody about the ban till His Holiness Dalai Lama lift the ban. I believe more people just like me. We want the ban be lifted. Dear Dalai Lama, please lift the ban.

The Tibetan Leadership imposed Dorje Shugden ban back in 1996. The people are suffering greatly where they were forced to abandon their spiritual practice, away from their loves one, being discriminated and hated. The Tibetan Leadership again and again advised against practicing Dorje Shugden with all sort of baseless and illogical reasons.

Buddhism teaches compassion and harmony. Isn’t that means we should be kind and not to create sufferings to others? We are here to speak against something that is wrong in a polite way to create awareness that how much harm and damaged has been endured by the innocent Dorje Shugden practitioners. Most important we are asking politely that the Tibetan Leadership to make publish announcements online and issue instructions to the Tibetans not to discriminate against Dorje Shugden practitioners.

We always respect H.H. the Dalai Lama and we wish His Holiness to put a full stop on the Dorje Shugden ban, restore peace and harmony and unite Tibetan people.

No one should be ostracized, segregated, discriminated, denied their basic universal human rights to education, medical care and food. These are all enshrined in the UN Charter of Human Rights and it is upheld by all members of the UN.

Looking back at the entire issue of the ban over 20 years ago, the needless suffering and degradation towards all those who practice DS (TIbetans and non-Tibetans) should come to an end. Even apartheid in S. Africa came down and, as a result, people are united again and all became stronger, thus leading the entire nation to even greater levels. The same can also happen.

If we just look at the issue and suppose that today, the ban is lifted and suddenly we have an enhance Tibetan community all over India who could have a very strong voice in all the things they do for all Tibetans living-in-exile.

We humbly request HH the 14th Dalai Lama to influence the CTA body to officially end the ban and bring every Tibetan to bond as a stronger community to move ahead. I believe the time of 20 years is too long to let the sufferings continue.

    Thank you.

It is saddening that Tibetan Leadership (CTA) disallow the practise of Dorje Shugden which in actual fact a practise by so many high attained lamas for more than 400 years. Not only that Dorje Shugden practitioners are discriminated against their human right and freedom in a democratic country. They are not allow to go to school, seek treatment in hospital, attend public events and restaurants.

Why would a government want to enforce discrimination and segregation among the Tibetans due to choice of religion? I just find that the allegation towards Dorje Shugden practise unjust if we were to study the origins of this practise. Dorje Shugden is an enlightened dharma protector so how can it bring harm to practitioners and Dalai Lama?

Recently Dalai Lama has mentioned that Dorje Shugden do not harm him. I hope Dalai Lama and Tibetan Leadership can resolve this issue and lift the ban.

  38. Stella Cheang on Feb 16, 2017 at 8:13 pm

The ban on Dorje Shugden creates suffering to many people and is actually promoting ignorance because many people will support the ban without questioning since it comes from Dalai Lama’s office. As we have examined and shared, the ban is illogical. Plus Dorje Shugden practice had been propitiated by high lamas and had been benefitting people for 400 years, it just does not make sense to suddenly for it to become harmful. May the people who read these memes seek for the truth and support the lifting of the ban.

This is an interesting comment by Suzy on Rinpoche’s YouTube channels that indicates clearly that people have seen through the Tibetan leadership’s negative propaganda against Dorje Shugden. Suzy’s comment is honest and she acknowledged that she harbored negative thoughts about Dorje Shugden due to the Dalai Lama’s words. And yet she felt that the Dalai Lama was in fact using skillful means to propagate the Shugden practice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl-4lIwxph4&t=11s

Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa, Tibet

Over 400 years ago a great and learned lama Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was famed in Mongolia, Tibet, Nepal and China for being very saintly and compassionate. He resided in his residence (Zimkhang Gongma Ladrang) in Drepung Monastery. His root guru was H.H. the Omniscient 4th Panchen Lama and his close dharma brother was the 5th Dalai Lama.

The 5th Dalai Lama and Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen had a very close and dharmic relationship and often went to receive teachings together from the 4th Panchen Lama. They were close in age. They both became very learned and well known. During this time, the Dalai Lama was enthroned as a Dharma King of Tibet. But more people went to see Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen for teachings, initiations and divinations. This made the attendants of the 5th Dalai Lama feel threatened that Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s fame might usurp the power of the 5th Dalai Lama. So they had a khata forced down his throat. At that moment, Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen dissolved his psychic winds and generated the wish to be a great guardian of Buddha and Tsongkapa’s teachings. As his consciousness dissolved, he entered ‘bardo’ as a dharma protector of the highest order (jikten depey sungma). Many signs were seen throughout Lhasa at this time and the earth was said to have shaken in Lhasa. This event was already predicted to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s previous incarnation when he was one of the 8 main disciples of Lord Tsongkapa the Supreme Master and he served Tsongkapa directly by building Gaden Monastery.

When the 5th Dalai Lama heard what his scheming and power-hungry attendants had done, he was very distressed. He was very sorry Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was murdered and dishonored as he was a great dharma master. The 5th Dalai Lama composed an apology to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen. In Lhasa, tens of thousands gathered for the cremation of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s holy body. During the cremation, the 5th Dalai Lama’s apology was read out at which flames spontaneously arose from the body of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen commencing the cremation. From the body, during cremation, a powerful whirlwind of smoke tunneled into the sky for all to see as this was an indication Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s consciousness has arisen as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. The Dharma Protector Setrap immediately recognized this new protector Dorje Shugden and ‘enthroned’ him as a powerful Dharma Protector in the realm of the Buddhas. From this, Setrap and Dorje Shugden are closely connected and very close working hand in hand always. After the cremation, the great 5th Dalai Lama built a Dorje Shugden chapel on the spot the cremation took place and named it Trode Khangsar. The 5th Dalai Lama commissioned the statue of Dorje Shugden in this chapel and had monks installed in the chapel to do continuous propitiations to Dorje Shugden. Trode Khangsar Chapel was a commemoration to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who was wronged and also a celebration of his consciousness arising as the World Peace Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

This Trode Khangsar Chapel still exists now in Lhasa where many make pilgrimages there. It is in good condition and was recently renovated. It is over 400 years old and a testimony to the respect the Great 5th Dalai Lama had to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who arose as Dorje Shugden.

I have visited this holy chapel in Lhasa years back. I’ve never heard of it till I was in Lhasa and by chance, I was told about it which I was happy to visit. I could not find the place but strangely a bunch of pilgrims from Amdo told me they would show me how to get there in Lhasa.

This short video is a short clip of this holy Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa today commemorating Dorje Shugden, built by the great 5th Dalai Lama. The great 5th Dalai Lama even composed a prayer to Dorje Shugden which is still available today and we can recite to invoke the blessings, protection, and assistance of World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

Thank you for having the strength, courage and genuine care to stand up and speak peacefully for what you believe in. No one should ever suffer, be segregated, assaulted, hurt, degraded, belittled, cursed, hated and biased for their religious beliefs. No one should advise anyone against any religious belief. If we want to find people who hate a certain religion, we can find plenty. If we want to find people who like a certain religion or form of spirituality, there will be plenty. In the end who is right and wrong? Which religion is right or wrong. All or some or none? Therefore it is more logical to respect all religions, all faiths and all forms of spirituality. In history many have exploited religion for selfish purposes and many have not. As long as I have not, that is all that matters. I cannot and will not speak for others of my faith and what their motive is, but I know my motive. No one and no leader and no religious leader should ever hurt, segregate or speak against another religion. Time for peace. Time for harmony. Time for respect. Time to look beyond mine/your religion and be kind. Be kind to everyone. Never put anyone down because of their religion.

    Humbly,

    Tsem Rinpoche.

P.S. I wish very much the people from His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s views/side and people from the side of Dorje Shugden practitioners meet very soon. May they meet in peace, with kindness in the hearts and good motivation to solve this issue once and for all. We have to solve this through peaceful dialogue. I never protested against His Holiness Dalai Lama nor spoke harshly against his views ever. I have always respected his and everyone’s views. We all have to live on this earth together. You will not accept my way of spirituality and I will not accept your’s and that is okay. But we must respect each other’s spiritual faith and NEVER criticize or advise against it. We must respect also what we don’t accept. Everyone has their way. Advising against another’s religion/faith/spirituality creates so much disharmony. No more disharmony. It’s been 19 years since the ban against Dorje Shugden started. It must end please. We have so many things to argue about in this world, let’s make one less conflict. I wish this conflict to end peacefully soon. I wish His Holiness the Dalai Lama and supporters can open channels of communication and solve this issue soon. Peaceful dialogue please and soon. Thank you.

    peace

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed this prayer to Dorje Shugden. His Holiness has full clairvoyance and knowledge of the nature of the deity he composed the prayer to when he was younger and when he is older as it is the same mind stream. So not logical His Holiness can make a mistake? If he can make mistakes about deities, then the mistakes cannot be limited to time span: https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/?p=61029

It is really sad to see how thousands of people are getting torn apart in their daily life just because they practice a so called evil spirit.
For 400 years many high lamas have practiced Dorje Shugden and instead of getting harmed they are benefited.
In fact Dorje Shugden has performed a number of miracles, here is one that i know: Location, 1959, Potala Palace, Lhasa, Tibet. The chinese are shelling the Potala palace. Zong Rinpoche is concerned of the older monks who are leaving the Potala palace he then decides to do a Dorje Shugden Repel puja to help the older monks escape safely as Zong Rinpoche was doing the puja, the walls in front and on the left and right side of Zong Rinpoches room collapsed, but the wall behind Zong Rinpoche remained. According to the older monks who were fleeing, they saw a bright light fly from Zong Rinpoche’s room to the chinese camp, the light startled the Chinese and thus they ceased firing for several days. That allowed the older monks to escape safely.

So my point here is, how could a practice that saved so many monks life be bad for people? In fact the Dalai Lama escaped certain death when Dorje Shugden told him to leave the Potala palace immediately. The instruction came not too soon, the day after the Dalai Lama left the Potala Palace the Chinese shelled the Potala Palace.
So the Dalai Lama is now talking bad about someone who saved his life.

If not for Dorje Shugdens instructions the Dalai Lama might not have survived.

May the Dorje Shugden conflict end quickly to halt the sufferings and prosecution of the thousands of Dorje Shugden practitioners.

These are beautiful memes depicting the struggles of Dorje Shugden practitioners, and their humble pleas to the CTA to please end the ban, and restore sanity back into the minds of countless people who believe in their lineage gurus and Dorje Shugden.

Please show compassion, please practice compassion, please allow spiritual and religious freedom. Please end the physical suffering and mental anguish of your own people, and also other people who are not Tibetans but who are peacefully practicing Dorje Shugden.

Thank you to the unsung heroes who worked hard in bringing the messages in these memes out to the world.

Be Patient

Give the room a chance to answer you. Patience is a virtue. And if after awhile, people don't respond, perhaps they don't know the answer or they did not see your question. Do ask again or address someone directly. Do not be offended if people do not or are unable to respond to you.

    Dorje Shugden’s Dice Divination

Divination is one of the ways enlightened beings and Buddhas communicate with ordinary beings. While some highly realised masters such as H.H. Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche and the Mahasiddha Tagpu Pemavajra can perceive the Buddhas directly and receive instructions, teachings and advice from them, most ordinary people cannot. And so divinations is one of the methods by which we can receive the Buddhas’ advice too.

A lot of evidence based on psychology states that most animal cruelty cases is all about power or control. The abuser feels powerless and develops a warped sense of self-respect. Eventually they feel strong only by being able to dominate a person or animal.

According to Robert K. Ressler, a profiler of serial killers for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said “Murderers… very often start out by killing and torturing animals as kids”, a connection that was recognized by the FBI since the 1970’s. In Psychology studies, according to a 1997 study done by the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and Northeastern University, animal abusers are five times more likely to commit violent crimes against people and four times more likely to commit property crimes than are individuals without a history of animal abuse. Many studies in psychology, sociology, and criminology during the past 25 years have demonstrated that violent offenders often have history of animal abuse since childhood.

Take for example, society’s most notorious serial killer, Jeffery Dahmer who murdered 17 men and boys. He was known to have dismembered animals since a young age

In 1984, Alvaro Munera became permanently disabled and confined to a wheel chair for life… he was only 18 years old when that happened. Munera had been a bullfighter since the age of 12, and a successful one. Despite being the most celebrated bullfighter at that time, he often doubted his career choice. He felt that it was brutal, but ignored how he felt whenever he had to kill a bull. He stayed at the peak of his career until his 22nd match… the bull tore his left leg and tossed him into the air. When he landed his spinal cord and cranial was severely injured. This left him paralyzed from the waist down for life.

A few months after this incident, Munera went to America for physical rehabilitation. Being brought up thinking that bullfights are normal and “part of life”, Munera was then exposed to a whole new environment… an environment that actively fights against animal cruelty.

Instead of blaming the bull for paralyzing him for life, Munera became anti-taurino.

I find Munera’s story very inspiring. Instead of blaming others, Munera bit the bullet, realized and accepted his own wrongful action. Now, he has decided to devote his life to fight for animals rights till the day he dies.

Some things you just have to see no matter how you feel. It lets you know what happens behind the scenes. Things manufacturers do not want you to see, but you are stronger than that for you must see.

It was extremely disturbed and upset to see such cruelty inflicted on such harmless beings. About 95% of the hundreds of thousands of seals slaughtered are below 3 months old!! While many other countries such as America and the European Union has banned the use of seal fur, Canada has yet to implement the same ban… The rate of baby seals being killed increases every year.

In 2011, 38,000 harp seals were killed… In 2012, 70,000 harp seals were killed in commercial seal hunting. That’s twice the amount from the previous year!

In Georgia, there is a wild animal rescue center called Noah’s Ark. The sanctuary was created to provide a home for abused, unwanted, and orphaned children and animals. How beautiful…

Noah’s Ark has been on global news lately, as 3 of their rescued wild animals have become best friends. It doesn’t seem very interesting at first, until you watch the video and realize that the 3 bestfriends are an American black bear, a lion and a Bengal tiger! They all play, eat and cuddle together in the same pen!

The 3 different animals were rescued 12 years ago, when they were just little cubs. They were abused and neglected by drug dealers. When they were rescued by Noah’s Ark, each had gone through very bad physical experiences… The bear had grown into his harness, and it was so deeply embedded into his skin that it had to be surgically removed!

Leo (the lion) Baloo (the bear) and Shere Kahn (the tiger), have become to close that when the trainers try to separate them, they would all act out. They are only happy when they are together hehe

This is an amazing story of a pig that kneeled in front of a temple as if it is paying homage. The pig did not kneeled for a few minutes but it kneeled for hours until the monk chanted a Buddhits scripture to it. Unfortunately, the pig was slaughtered after that.

The pig must have been a Dharma practitioner in its previous lives, and the Dharma imprint was very strong in it. Otherwise, how to explain when it kneeled in front of the temple for hours? It must know that it will die soon, the Buddhist chanting would help it to calm down before its death and helped it to go to a better place.

Now that we are in the human form, we should practice the Dharma, purify our karma so we don’t go to a bad place. When we take rebirth as an animal, we will not be able to purify our karma and it will take us a very long time before we take rebirth in human form again.

There are many natural things we can consume to keep us healthy or prevent serious sickness such as cancer. It is always better to prevent than to cure.

We should reduce the consumption of processed food and whenever possible, consume unprocessed food. People start to realise how much pesticide and chemicals are used to produce vegetables, now many have started to grow their own food.

However, when we are sick, we still have to go to see a doctor and seek for medical attention. With a positive mind and healthy life style, we will be able to maintain healthy body.

    Wonderful Laos

Many visitors are attracted to its laid-back lifestyle, enchanting temples, mysterious plains, ethnic mountain villages and beautiful sunsets, especially by the scenery surrounding the Mekong, which explains why the word Lao means “please don’t rush”. If you’re looking for a place that has spirituality, somewhere that is a little different, a country that’s somewhat off the beaten track, Laos is a country that many will not regret visiting.

Planning to travel? Why not consider Laos: http://bit.ly/2VVgQ5L

Unlike most children his age, Luiz Antonio wants to eat his vegetables. It’s the other stuff that apparently gives him second thoughts.

As evidence, YouTube user Flavia Cavalcanti has an adorable video, originally uploaded in Portuguese, of little Luiz struggling to comprehend the origins of his meal. Potato? Easy enough. Rice? Sure. Octopus gnocchi? Fat chance.

In a recently uploaded version with English subtitles, Luiz dances around the subject a bit, asking simple questions trying to grasp how, exactly, the “legs” of an octopus ended up on his plate; more importantly, he wonders, what happened to the rest of the octopus?

“Is his head still in the sea?” Luiz asks his mom, who responds, “It’s at the fish market.”

“The man chopped it?” Luiz asks. His mom then informs him that all animals we eat, even chickens, are chopped up, prompting the sharp realization, “No! Those are animals!”

“So… when we eat animals they die!” a wide-eyed Luiz acknowledges. “Why do they die? I don’t like that they die. I like that they stay standing up… These animals — you gotta take care of them… and not eat them!”

After that epiphany, Luiz realizes his mom has been touched by his compassion.

“Why are you crying?” he asks.

“I’m not crying,” his mother responds. “I’m just touched by you.”

“I’m doing something beautiful?” Luiz wonders aloud, prompting his mom to direct him back to the plate, “Eat! No need to eat the octopus, all right?”

Wow … the first title published by Kechara Comics in Nepali. That is wonderful now with this Nepali version comic more and more Nepalis people will get to read , understand about Dorje Shugden. Looking at those comic pictures tells us a thousand words even those who could not read it. It’s a good way sharing , as in Malaysia alone there are thousands of Nepalis foreign workers working here.
    Thank you for this sharing.

Thank you for sharing this amazing and interesting video about oracles. A rare opportunity where we are given the chance to view those videos. Oracles acts as a medium through whom advice or prophecy was sought. In Tibet tradition oracles have played, and continue to play, an important part in religion, doctrine, and prophecy. Tibetans rely on oracles for various reasons such as healing of their diseases and on all important occasions. In Tibet, they have the Nechung Oracle and other oracles. The purpose of the oracles is not just to forecast the future but do assist in decision-making and providing intelligence on state matters. I have seen mediums taking trance and it is much different from Tibetans oracles from what I saw from these videos. Hopefully the Tibetan tradition oracles could be preserved , where more will benefit. One such famous oracle is the Panglung oracle where the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden took trance . In fact had helped HH Dalai Lama escaped from the Chinese invasion in Tibet to India back 1959. As advice by the oracle Chushi Gangdruk guerrilla group was formed and had escorted Dalai Lama safely into exile.

Wow …wonderful Kechara Comic publication now came out with this important history in comic form of how HH Dalai Lama escaped from the Chinese invasion in 1959. The truth should be made known to all. Now coming up with this , more and more people get to know of the truth. It is our Powerful Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden that has saved Dalai Lama. Dorje Shugden who is a fully enlightened Buddha has helped millions and had benefited many which we all cannot denied. During the most difficult moments, Dorje Shugden will help us nor matter what race, religion one practice or pray to.

There are many types of people out there. But one thing is for sure, we are all not the same. We come from different backgrounds, upbringings and cultures. But it’s confirmed none of us would like pain, experience pain or even think of pain. Who in their right mind would enjoy pain? No one. Pain is something that brings tremendous displeasure especially when it’s physically. Imagine someone cutting you, burning you, decapitating you, skinning you or cooking you while you are still alive? Well this is what we do to others. Imagine their pain.

There are cultures that due to ecological conditions they have to rely on meat. I don’t agree but I understand. But to kill an animal is very bad, but to do it slowly is really the ultimate in sadism and cruelty. And if it’s for fun or just our taste buds, it’s equally cruel. What type of cruel mind can slowly kill an animal for just the taste buds? I certainly can never do this.

See this video. Share with others. I stress to share it with others. Don’t say it’s hard to watch. For every piece of meat we have eaten, we owe it to animals to see what they go through to fulfill our taste palates. We owe it to them and their pain.

This is one of the most disturbing videos I have ever come across. I repeat humbly to share this with others to create awareness. Please social media this all over. Create awareness so this happens less and less. I thank you ahead of time.

As the number of poached rhinos are breaking records in both South Africa and Kenya, please keep up your support of the men and women who are dedicating so much of their time, money and – in some cases – putting their very lives at risk for the survival of the African rhinos.

South Africa has already lost more than 400 rhinos to poachers this year, including 265 in Kruger National Park. Many of the poachers are based across the border in Mozambique; to send a letter of protest to the Mozambique High Commission in South Africa, click on this link: http://e-activist.com/ea-action/action?ea.client.id=1736&ea.campaign.id=21066&ea.tracking.id=fb&en_chan=fb&en_ref=19085575.

Kenya, too, is experiencing its worst rhino poaching year in decades, with many of its dedicated rhino sanctuaries being targeted. With a much smaller rhino population than South Africa, it is critical that the country’s remaining rhinos are cared for and protected – an expensive undertaking, but one our children and grandchildren will suffer for if we do not succeed.

In this photograph, taken at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in December last year, a Samburu warrior expresses grief over the discovery of a poached black rhino. Owning a perfect track record until 2009, the conservancy has lost eleven rhinos to poachers since, despite spending millions of dollars on security every year. Now, more than ever, our support is needed.

(CNN) — Packed tight into wire baskets — sometimes 20 or more to a cage — animal rights activists say as many as 200,000 live dogs every year are smuggled from northeast Thailand across the Mekong River destined for restaurants in Vietnam.

Dehydrated, stressed, some even dying of suffocation on the trip, the dogs are often stacked 1,000 to a truck on a journey that lasts for days.

“Obviously when you’ve got dogs stacked on top of each other they start biting each other because they are so uncomfortable, any kind of movement then the dog next to the one that’s being crushed is going to bite back,” said Tuan Bendixsen, director of Animals Asia Foundation Vietnam, a Hanoi-based animal welfare group.

When they arrive in Vietnam, the suffering doesn’t end there. A common belief is that stress and fear releases hormones that improve the taste of the meat, so the dogs are placed in stress cages that restrict their movement.

Eventually, the dogs are either bludgeoned to death or have their throats cut in front of other dogs who are awaiting the same fate. In some cases, they’ve been known to be skinned alive.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

Find one of the most beautiful temples in the world in Nara, Japan. It is the 1,267 year old Todai-ji temple that houses a 15 meter Buddha Vairocana statue who is a cosmic and timeless Buddha. Emperor Shomu who sponsored this beautiful temple eventually abdicated and ordained as a Buddhist monk. Very interesting history and story. One of the places everyone should visit- https://bit.ly/2VgsHhK

Silver Manjusri figure from Ngemplak Semongan (Indonesia). Apparently during the Shailendra Dynasty, Mahayana Buddhism was very strong in Indonesia. This Dynasty promoted Mahayana Buddhism and Manjushri was a principal Buddha of worship.

  • What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
    2 yearss ago
What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
