Kechara is very fortunate to have H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche as our Spiritual Advisor and Dorje Shugden as our Dharma Protector. Understanding how fortunate we are to have connected with a supreme and qualified teacher in this life, we should therefore put as much effort as we can towards keeping a good relationship and good samaya with our Guru.

The advice below was recently given to the Kechara Forest Retreat team by the Protector Dorje Shugden. As Dorje Shugden is an enlightened Buddha, all the advice he gives is none other than the perfect Dharma, as can be seen clearly below.

His advice is being shared here as it is applicable not only to Kecharians but also to everyone who wishes to advance in their spiritual practice and maintain a supreme Guru-Disciple relationship with their own teachers.

Advice from Dharmapala Dorje Shugden to the Kechara Forest Retreat Team

Nov 18, 2015

The vast amount of Dharma teachings that your Lama has bestowed upon you, you should be like a garden where many seeds have been planted. And as the years expand, as the years grow, the acreage of your farm grows, producing beautiful vegetables and fruits and edible items. It should not be after years of receiving Dharma from your Lama by action, by words, by example, by official teachings, by kindness, by behaviour, that your farmland produces less and less and less edible items. Do you understand?

Each year, like a farmer – a spiritual farmer – your acreage, your land should expand and become two acres, three acres, four acres, five, 10 15, 20. Whatever you learn on the first acre can be applied on the second, third and fourth. Whatever you learn on the first acreage does not need to be given new instructions for the second and third and fourth acreage. Whatever’s been given for the first, whatever formula, whatever methods, whatever teachings apply to the second and third and fourth acres.

So, in other words, if you are applying, you will have produce, you will have results in edible items. And in fact, every year your farm should expand and grow. This is the farm of your mind. This is the acreage of your development. And the teachings are like seeds. You should not take the seeds and throw it away on someone else’s land and you getting no benefits. You should not plough the land, weed the land and water the land which is effort, ethics, vows, consistent effort and then nothing grows. To have the seeds and have the land, you must apply weeding, fertilisation, watering, protection from insects, birds and whatnot. And that is likened to effort, ethics, application, consistency.

When your mind goes up and down, catch it immediately. Do not let it go further. At no point in your life has your mind brought you any benefits, if you think about it carefully. At no point in your life has your mind brought you long-term and ultimate benefits. Everything that has been brought by your mind ended up in sorrow, disappointment, coldness, fear, anger, distance and, most important, the biggest obstacles – comfort zones. We become comfortable with being negative, we become used to being negative and then we expect people to reach out to us, to nurture us, to take care of us even when we’re 30, 40, 50 years old. This must stop.

Act your age. Behave your age. And develop according to the years you’ve been in Dharma and the amount of teachings you have received. Do not act like you joined Dharma a few months ago. Do not behave like you’re 15, 16, 20 years old.

When scolded, angry; when complimented, happy – this is the mind of a child. When scolded, examine why, overcome it, move on. When complimented, understand you’re on the right path, rejoice but do not be extremely happy because happy and sad arise from the same state of mind. Happy and sad arise from the same state of mind because it arises from the same mind, which is the deluded mind. Happiness leads to sadness, sadness leads to happiness and vice versa, on and on, and in a circle, it never ends.

Therefore do not be attached to being happy which is false. There is no happiness here in samsara. Do not be attached to sadness because the ultimate sadness is the three lower realms, not so much what you are experiencing now. Whatever you’re experiencing now, whatever you’re feeling now, do not blow it out of proportion. Do not let it linger, do not let it last, do not let it drag.

Never let negative emotions and thinking and behaviours drag. Why? Your Guru is not your father, is not your mother, is not your boyfriend, is not your girlfriend, is not your wife or husband or someone that you can treat on an ordinary level. Your behaviour, your body language and the way you interact with your Guru is a completely different relationship than those you have had in the past. Therefore you should never react to your Guru as you have reacted in the past to other beings you have encountered because the other beings that you have encountered are just as deluded as you. Therefore sometimes when you ignore them, sometimes when you’re angry at them, sometimes when you love them, sometimes when you’re neutral with them, it just adds to their delusions and they add to yours.

Anything from your Guru lessens your delusions, if you accept. Anything towards your Guru lessens your delusions and illusions. Anything from your Guru, lessens it; anything towards your Guru, lessens it. Therefore how you behave and act with your Guru is very different than any relationship you’ve had in the past. Therefore the relationship with your Guru is sacred. Why is it sacred? Because the most sacred achievement we can have is the transformation of our mind from that of a selfish, self-centric person to that of a person who thinks of others and focuses out. And as you do that more, you will see your unhappiness lessen, your depressions lessen, your sense of self-depreciation, lack of appreciation and low esteem become less. Why is that? As you do more positive activities, it reinforces the positive mind. The positive activities come from your Guru.

Think about it carefully. Have you done more positive things since you met your Guru, or have you done more positive things before you met your Guru? If you have done more positive things after you have met your Guru, then that is clear evidence, logical evidence to you that your relationship with your Guru results in positive actions, positive transformation. Has anyone in your life prior to your Guru taught you mind training, transformation, compassion, tolerance, Bodhicitta, acceptance of others, forgiveness, patience – has anyone?

And after you have met your Guru, what have you been taught, what have you been pushed to do, what have you been trained to do, what have you been scolded, what have you been complimented on? You have been scolded and complimented and blessed to develop your mind. Since you met your Guru, you have been pushed, goaded, prodded, encouraged, rewarded to improve your mind. Prior to this, who has done that for you? Who had the knowledge to do that for you? Who had the wisdom to do that for you? Who had the out-of-samsara mind to do that for you?

Since prior to your Guru no one has given you this type of mind transformation teachings, to think higher, to think of others, to think further, then your Guru is a treasury of Dharma. You should respect, you should have a relationship with your Guru different than any relationship you’ve had with other people because your relationship with your Guru is like no other person in your life. If you develop a consistent, positive relationship with your Guru, then the positive, consistent mind will develop in your consciousness.

You may think, “Some people did not.” That is not the fault of the Guru. Example – there are many Buddhists who commit heinous crimes worse than the atheists. That does not reflect on the Buddha; that reflects on the person and how he or she has applied or not applied Dharma. So therefore treat not your teacher as you would treat others. You should treat your teacher with great deference. You should treat your teacher with great respect, body and mind. You should speak of your Guru with great deference. As it says in the 50 Verses by the great pandita Ashvagosha, when speaking about your Guru to others, one should never just address your Guru by his name So-and-So. One should always honour and add an honorific title before his name when you mention him to others, and fold your hands in reverence.

Two things happen as a result. One is, you send a message to yourself to be respectful and you send a message to another person of how fortunate they would be to receive teachings from a Guru. Seeing your respect will instil respect in them. If they are karmically connected to your Guru, they will come; if they are karmically connected to another Guru, then they will meet. Whatever it is, your deferential actions, your respectful actions will lead them to find the Dharma.

The key point is not they meet your Guru; the key point is that they meet the Dharma through any Guru. Do you understand?

Any relationship you had prior to your Guru does not benefit your mind, does not benefit your karma, does not benefit your future life or even remotely this life. Any relationship you have with your Guru benefits this life, future lives and especially your mind. Listen and focus and concentrate, and contemplate what comes out of your Guru’s mouth the most. Definitely it will be about mind transformation, about patience and tolerance, about bringing yourself to another level and dealing with others different than the way you dealt with them before. If you listen to all these teachings from your Guru and you apply immediately – not tomorrow, not the next day, not when you’re in the mood, not when you’re rested, not when you’re feeling better – if you apply immediately, then your acreage will grow and your produce will be bountiful.

In building Kechara Forest land, many of the local deities and spirits have been subdued. Hence you see no sickness among you, serious or benign. You don’t see any accidents. Sometimes you see some disharmony. One thing you must keep in mind – and remember this clearly – whenever you do building work, there will be disharmony in the mind. Most of the deities here are subdued but as we further do work and we further make noise, and we further disturb the land and people come, throw things, spit, shout, scream, then sometimes the spirits, the local deities, get disturbed again.

They’re just like people, they can be placated but they can be disturbed again. Once placated doesn’t mean they stay placated. It means that they can be disturbed again, they don’t always remain placated. So similarly, the first sign that a local deity or local gods or the land gods are unhappy is disharmony within the group. Disharmony between you and your Guru, disharmony between each other. This is the first sign because the first way the local gods, especially in this area, attack is by creating disharmony. By creating disharmony, you separate; when you separate, the work does not get done. Do you understand?

What is important is the KFR group do continuous retreats, everybody in this room, even people who reside on this land, during your building. Very important. You are fighting your karma, you are fighting the karma of people to be benefited by your building and you are fighting the production of new karma by yourself on a daily basis that arises from the self-absorbed mind.

As a group, you should all do the Black Manjushri retreat. It was very auspicious that the teachings were given the other day. I was very pleased. As a group, you should do the Black Manjushri retreat, collectively collect 100,000 mantras. Especially the main root mantra, OM PRASO CHUSO DURTASO DURMISO NYING GOLA CHO KALA DZA KAM SHAM TRAM BEH PHET SOHA. The main one should be done collectively 100,000. As a group, Black Manjushri. That means together. Do you understand?

Black Manjushri will have many powerful effects. You may think, “Why this? Why that?” Karmically, astrologically, the blessings are different and your necessities and needs are different. Do you understand? Black Manjushri will stave off the curses that people are sending to Kechara, the negative words, the curses, the negative gossip and talk, and the ill-wishes and the jealousies from your neighbours – some of your neighbours – from other places, even some so-called spiritual people. So Black Manjushri, if done well, will stave off the curses, negative deprecations, curses, ill words, gossip will be staved off. Do you understand? It will also appease the local deities who have been disturbed again and again.

Be harmonious with each other. Be loving with each other, be respectful of each other. Be more and more in Kechara Forest Retreat. Do you understand? Look for more excuses to be here than in the city. Put your energy here to make it grow, be the pioneers. Do you understand? And not only be here and sit here, be active. Look around. Keep the place well-maintained. Keep the place upkept. Raise funds, be busy on your modern ways of Dharma dissemination. Modern ways of social outreach, social interaction.

Do your retreats, have a happy mind. Be harmonious with each other. Make your mind settled and think this is home. Home is in the mind, it’s not a place. So if in your mind you think this is home, it is home, regardless of geography. Do you understand?

Show a good example. The time is coming soon for more good news. Hence it will affect this organisation in a positive way to expand even more, do you understand? Take care of each other. Nurture each other. Take care of each other as if you are blood family.

In regards to building the various proposed plans you have on this land, do your retreats and do not wait from one project to another. Do not wait for your Lama to contact you. The Lama has a reason to wait for you to contact him constantly, for you to create the causes for something to arise by requesting again and again and again. It is said to receive the Dharma, we must make prostrations and offerings and a mandala offering three times officially to our Guru and request three times officially, from the heart, before he will even consent. And the reason is to create the causes to receive the teachings. Do you understand?

So therefore, whatever projects you wish to do on this land, request the Guru humbly, logically. Produce the work quickly. Do not drag, do not wait a long time, do not let your moods come in the way. Do not let your anger come in the way. Do not let your doubts come in the way. Why? None of these qualities benefited you prior to Dharma, and definitely will not benefit you during Dharma.

Most important – keep your relationship, samaya with your Guru clean. What does samaya and relationship mean? A sincere heart. An open heart. Appreciation. As he appreciates you, you should appreciate him and always show great deference. Deference means a special place in your heart, that the relationship with this person is extra-normal, paranormal, extra-worldly, extra-terrestrial.

What does that mean? Not of this world, earth, not of this time, not of this plane. From many lifetimes ago, you must have had a connection with this Lama. Hence you are here again to meet again, to do things again. Some of you have broken your vows and your refuge, and some of you have broken serious vows in your previous lives. The Lama knows, hence he keeps you close by and near by him.

The reason for the mind to fluctuate is the broken promises you’ve made in your previous lives, especially in relations to serious vows. Therefore when you break your relationship, therefore when you break your vows, therefore when you break your relationship with the Three Jewels in such a way, you come back – because you have done some Dharma – near the lama but in your mind you will be disturbed and it goes up and down, up and down, up and down, because of your lack of integrity of holding your vows in your previous life.

Be it you could have been a monk, you could have been a nun, a Bodhisattva, a teacher, an arhat-seeker, a meditator, someone who took refuge – but you carelessly, without any sort of respect, threw your vows away and just indulged, indulged, indulged. That results back in the mind being unsure of this. But having said that, even still you have held the vows for a while, hence you find the Lama again. Do you understand? You have found your Lama again due to finding the vows, but you have your mind go up and down because you broke your vows. Do you understand?

Remedy: your consistent practice. Your retreats that purify. Your continued Dharma work and most important, a good mind, constantly striving to break the comfort zones in order to be of benefit to others through your work. Whatever you need to build here, entreat, request your Lama at another time, appropriately, and have your drawings, have your costs ready. All will come if you make the effort, do you understand?

Continue to build. Take your responsibilities seriously and do not lax. Again, I repeat – all the negative qualities you have did not serve you prior to Dharma. Therefore it will not serve you during Dharma. Therefore eliminate them. All the positive qualities you have prior to Dharma has benefited you. Therefore during Dharma, it will also benefit you so increase your positive qualities that you all have, do you understand?

Build together. Nurture. Help. Reduce the anger. Today, your Lama has come. Many good instructions have been given. You have my support for those instructions. Build with harmony, cooperation, no pettiness. Do you understand?

I will always assist; follow the Buddha’s teachings, I will always assist. Do you understand? I will pray to the Three Jewels for you always.

H E Tsem Rinpoche our Guru was the one who teaches us constantly, and has shown us the way. As we walk with the Rinpoche, we walk in the light of existence, away from the darkness of ignorance. Rinpoche was the one who teaches us what life is and also how to make the most of it. We are the only one who enlightened our path by removing the darkness of our ignorance and in the spiritual journey. Without Rinpoche many aspects of our life would have been unexplored. Not only our Guru will help us in our spiritual journey and in many other ways to transform our mind to be a better person. Enriching our life and widening our horizons. We are so fortunate to have connected with Rinpoche and Dorje Shugden in this life. Whatever advice given by Dorje Shugden should be taken seriously as Dharma.
Thank you Rinpoche with folded hands for imparting the immense wealth of knowledge and wisdom. I am where I am only because of Rinpoche.

    Dear friends,

Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.

You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.

Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.

May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

“If the Dalai Lama, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden, then we might as well not practice Buddhism anymore. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his life shortened by a so-called evil spirit, any evil spirit, then can he be Avalokiteshvara? So on one hand you say, we say, I say, everybody says, he is Avalokiteshvara; on the other hand you’re saying that he can be harmed by an evil spirit… Which one is it? Can he be harmed by an evil spirit or is he Avalokiteshvara? Do you think Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Tara all take refuge in something else to protect themselves from Dorje Shugden? How illogical is that? How illogical of people to say His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by an evil spirit, any evil spirit or “Dorje Shugden” evil spirit. How is that possible?” – Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

Will the CTA (Tibetan govt in exile) and their supporters in East and West say voodoo is evil and cannot be practiced too? Will they advise against Voodoo and say its a demon’s practice and people who practice are bad too? Truth be told, no one has the right to say anything about anyone’s religion. This excerpt of the Swiss Television documentary presented in 1988 is a painful reminder of the hypocrisy and the sad reality of the oppression, discrimination, and ostracisation of Dorje Shugden practitioners. For 20 years, Dorje Shugden practitioners have endured this and no one supported their fight as the Tibetan leadership in exile continues to undermine their effort by denying the existence of this ban, and silencing their voice by peer pressure, flooding the media and fooling the general public with accusations that Shugden practitioners are political tools supported by the Chinese government to create discord within the Tibetan community. Please listen to their plea and please share this video far and wide to end this injustice.

This article use the very well example to explain on spiritual or Dharma practices in today’s scenario. Guru’s teachings are knowledge to us, if we no practices it, our mind can’t transform to become better person. As people always said, actions speak louder than words, that is the reason why we must practice Dharma instead of understand it but do nothing.
I met Rinpoche two years ago, I can’t say I’m. 100% compassion but I know I’m getting much compassion compared with previous time. Rinpoche’s actions always inspired me to do more to benefit people or animals.

From the Protector’s advice, it further strengthened the important of guru devotion and mind transformation in our spiritual path. Guru will be the one that can lead us to enlightenment. Guru will share with us lots of teachings and methods for our practice, but we need to put in our efforts to transform ourself. We also must be consistent with our practice and not just 3-minute passion。

KFR is the place we call home for our mind. Efforts must be make to continue support all the KFR projects. Everyone also should work harmoniously to build KFR for the benefit of many beings. May all the projects in KFR manisfested ASAP with the help from Protector Dorje Shugden.

Through this sharing, l learn that mind training is very important. And we need the 8 verses of thought transformation to help us through our spiritual path.
From what l understand we need to be humble and let go of our ego so as to deepen our practice. And most importantly our Guru devotion to our Guru.
l hope this session will help me to make my spiritual practice to progress.

We are very fortunate to have Rinpoche as our Spiritual Advisor at our door steps and Dorje Shugden as our Dharma Protector been the largest statues in Bentong. We should then take every opportunity to learn.what ever we could from our Guru. Dorje Shugden is an enlightened Buddha what ever advice he gives is the perfect Dharma. . Always appreciate what our Guru has done and we are to keep our samaya with our Guru pure and clean. Increasing harmony In our life brings peace and happiness. When we live in harmony with our authentic selves and align our dhrma work, habits, relationships with everyone, thoughts, and actions with our true values, we experience a greater sense of peace and happiness in every aspect of our lives.,then.
Thank you Rinpoche and admin for sharing these advice which I will always remember .

Reading this article again reminded me how fortunate and meritorious I have for the last 10 years to be able to reconnect back with Rinpoche ??. My life is filled with so much positivities today, more than what I can believe, all this due to ?? Rinpoche’s compassion of continuous teachings and nurturing. Countless mistakes were made due to our deluded mind, lack of effort, laziness and ego but ?? Rinpoche never once give up on us. At the same time keep us close to Him all the time.

There’s no one in our lives giving us such a pure love like Rinpoche ?? do.

We should read this article everyday to refresh ourselves daily of how we should behave as a student. Reminder us how we come to meet Rinpoche ?? in this life. That will help to calm our mind and do our work more efficiently.

Every mistake we made we got to start all over again as mistakes creates karma that will drag us down. Agreed with Pastor Henry, time is running out from our side.

This article is a great Dharma teaching from Rinpoche. Our mind is like a farm. If we plant good seeds then we will enjoy good harvest and if we plant bad seeds of course we will get bad or negative harvest. Every Dharma knowledge that we have heard or learn from Rinpoche will be in our mind. We just need to use it so that other seeds will open. This is where the 8 verses of mind transformation comes in. How we react on things and how we think about a situation is all from our mind. I do agree with Rinpoche that before Dharma I was too attached on certain things and the way I think is different from the time after I receive the Dharma I realize I have let go a lot. Thank you Rinpoche for giving us the Dharma to tame our wild minds _/\_

All the Dharma that we kindly and skillfully received from the Guru is to benefit us, make us grow and transform our mind. It is most important to have clean Samaya with our teacher, fulfill our promises and make up for what we have not yet completed.

The relationship with our Guru is most important and no other relationship will benefit us so much and in an ultimate way. Every assignment we have received, will benefit us tremendously as it will counter negative habituations and develop our good qualities. Giving back and sharing what we have so generously received is very important . In the end nothing else matters than what we have done for others as this will help us for our future lives. Doing for others is not blind action but with the motivation to help and benefit others long term.

There is always a danger of us always “Taking from the Guru / Dharma” without giving back due to our selfish mind. There is always an element of people taking things for granted and it is important to realise this on the very basic level the very least. Worst is when we justify it with excuses. It just doesn’t make sense when we won’t transform our mind which is what our Lama really wish in us although having been taking from our Lama. It is a wake up call to change that and work on our flaws to change for the better. This is what we should be working on which is what will really benefit us in the end, not our belongings but how we are able to focus out more rather than in.

Without the Guru’s guidance and advice, one will never be able to understand that there are many important things in life than just attachments. Indulging in negative activities everyday and not realising it. How blessed that even the protector remind us what we should do and push us in the right direction to get there.
Having Kechara Forest Retreat shows how much our Guru care and love us. A place to practice, do retreats and live. The most important, our mind transformation and there is no better place to learn and practice everyday.
No where we work be it secular or spiritual, we should always work harmoniously. Wouldn’t it be a more pleasant place to be in.

  34. Andrea Lai on Dec 30, 2017 at 2:04 am

Being in the KFR team, besides in charge of taking care of the greens, I found it is a very good practice of letting go our ego for example the work of weeding, pruning, fertilizing etc. Many people will think that this is the work of lower level people. In my opinion, this practical work is to help us lower down our pride like being humble, learning to be patience, practicing of awareness, mindfulness, perseverance and most importantly our mind transformation.

To obtain this, a guru is very important in our spiritual path. Guru is the only person that teaches us, guide us, love us all the way in hope we gain realization of our attachments and transform. By holding close samaya with our guru, we will be able to connect Dharma and meet him in our future life. Therefore we should appreciate what our guru had given to us and what we should give back to guru in return.

Without the Lama, the dharma protectors will not be introduced to us for our spiritual and worldly protection. Without the dharma protectors working with the Lama, the growth of dharma work would be slow.

People just take from the Lama and dharma protectors but hardly give back in terms of spiritual practice, time, resources. Yet we want the Lama and dharma protectors to continuing giving us their assistance to overcome obstacles in our daily life. We let the dharma teachings slip us by and not applying them because we do not want to put in the time, work, effort due to our own laziness but we give all sorts of excuses why we do not want to do them. We justify by saying we have worldly commitments to take care of – business, job, family, and we need to make money to maintain them. While it may sound true, we keep focusing more on making money when we already have enough because we say it is never enough. And when we have enough money, we say it is time to relax, empty our bucket list and travel the world, eat good food, buy properties to invest for old age and for our children, buy branded items to show others we have made it in life – we say we will do some volunteer work and dharma practice after all these are fulfilled. We set these examples to our children and they follow this trend and passed it down to their children. And this mindset and culture carry on generations after generations. We ourselves know no better because we grew up with the same mindset and culture in our family where our parents were conditioned by their parents and so on. We think this is how life should be and those things would bring us happiness.

The advices the Lama gave us, we KIV because we think we can control time and ageing. We do not want to face the inevitable – death, but death comes at no particular time. We always think that death happens to the next person but too premature for us. All this because we do not believe what the Buddha taught.

Thank you Rinpoche for the message. it’s a message not only for KFR team, but to all of us, to remind us always keep Dharma in our mind, always keep our Guru in our heart, always remind us to transform, practice what we’ve learnt in Dharma. Now flash back, before I met Dharma, before Dharma touches me, my life was wasted. Always hang out with friends, cycling, drinking, eating, taking pictures and posted on facebook, without purpose. I took things for granted, thinking things that I owned will be mine forever. Until one day I lost something, Dharma touched my heart. Thank you Rinpoche for the blessing, and the dharma brothers and sisters in Kechara, it kept my mind stable. Then I realized, how wasted my life was. How impermanent my life could be. I realized, we can’t change karma, when it’s ripen, we can only accept it. Whether we accept it in a secular way or a Dharma way. I think, If I treated it in a secular way, I would have ended up in mental hospital. I feel blessed that I am one of Kechara, I feel blessed that I am able to meet Rinpoche as my Guru. ??

As time goes we with the dharma teaching we learned, we should grow accordingly by putting into practice and transform or show result. What we have done before we met the dharma we should be able to compare the result now after we have applied what we have learned and this should be the motivation for us to keep learning and practicing.

We should appreciate our Guru for showing us the way to live our life meaningfully through his advice, training, care and love. Our samaya with our Guru is important for our practice and after all the Guru doesn’t ask anything from us but just our mind transformation.

KFR indeed is a sacred place that been blessed by Rinpoche and many other great Lamas in order to make this place futher to benefit many people

In anywhere we live or work, harmony is always one of the important key factor. Being harmony is not just between living being but it’s also extend to the unseen being through respect. Rinpoche had advice us further by doing retreat to make peace, protection, purifying negative karma not only for ourselves but also the people that will be benefited from KFR.

There are reasons for us to meet our Gurur in this life and we should continue to create the cause to continue to meet our compassionate Guru in our future lives by following his advice consistently.

It is very beneficial and necessary to always revisit some of the teachings in this blog from time to time. The treasures, Dharma lessons, sharing, other people’s experiences are tremendously encapsulated in this wonderful and amazing blog.

This article is so wonderful. It helps me in my Dharma journey to reflect back on the state of my mind prior to meeting the Dharma and now that I am in the Dharma, I have made some progress, although not outstanding. However, since Jul2013 when I first set foot into Gompa Hall for the Setrap puja until now, I have progressed and I vow that I will keep progressing and bring my immediate family to Dharma so that we all become examples to others to embrace the Dharma.

I am indebted to HE Tsem Rinpoche and vow to follow him in this life and future lives.

We should always revisit Rinpoche’s blog posts from time to time, the message of the blog posts serve as a reminder and when we read again, they give us different insights.

    What Protector said are:
    1. To have harvest on our spiritual farm, we must practice. Dharma is not only knowledge but a solution to the problems in our lives if we put Dharma in practice. We have the knowledge, why not put it in practice because it brings us happiness and resolve the problems we have in life. When we do that, we become a very good testimony for the others that Dharma is good, then they will also learn and practice. This is how we can bring benefits to people.

    2. Work in harmony with each other, care for each other. To build a Dharma institution is a team work, not individual. It is normal to have disharmony, but we have to learn how to solve it not to break by it.

    3. Listen to our guru and respect our guru. He wants us to be happy, he wants nothing from us. Always trust our guru.

Spiritual practice is never easy, it’s a constant internal struggles and fight. Fortunately we have our guru to guide us so we know whatever we are going through we stay on the right path. Be grateful to our guru.

  41. Fong on Dec 20, 2017 at 12:00 pm

Just a little of what I can glean from this teaching. Our mind is ours to care and nurture. Whatever that the mind is fed with, that’s the route it will take, be it negative or positive. So, the positive way is to take the teachings and slowly nurture it with study, contemplation and putting it into action. After all, karma is action. So, positive actions bring positive karma.

It is a marathon rather than a sprint, so consistency though difficult is the key. And, though as Dorje Shugden said, there will be disharmony due to further works to land or whatever building we do, we have to be mindful and see the disharmony but do not succumb to it but rather, make the effort to overcome it.

Thank you for sharing this article.

Guru is very precious because no one else will give us mind transformation teaching besides our Guru. Our relationship with our guru should be a sacred. We should treat our Guru with great respect, body and mind. With a sincere heart, an open heart and always appreciate what our Guru has done to us, we are keeping our samaya with our Guru pure and clean.

Besides, we should be able to love, respectful and helpful to each others. Dharma brothers and sisters should be able to taking care and nurturing each other as if we are blood family. Be harmonious is the key to do greater things together for the benefit of others.

    Dear Rinpoche,

Although this advice was directed to the Kechara Forest Team previously but it serves as personal advice to each one of us. I understand now that we have met Dharma and Guru in this lifetimes were due to the holding of vows in our previous lifetimes. However, we didn’t hold it strongly and hence the flippant minds that we have now. What I can do now is to arrest the negative mindset from time to time and to hold the vows strongly. To purify it daily and by having retreats. In this advice, it is recommended that we do the Black Manjushri, as this will pacify and limit the interference from local gods or spirits, will stave off the curses that people are sending to Kechara, the negative words, the curses, the negative gossip and talk, and the ill-wishes and the jealousies from your neighbours – some of your neighbours – from other places, even some so-called spiritual people. This reminds me of the social attacks directed to Rinpoche and Kechara on daily basis such as Twitter. Since I’ve watched Rinpoche explaining Black Manjushri practice that was being uploaded just few weeks ago, I’ve decided to do this practice daily with the thought that it will benefit Kechara and also myself (sorry for being selfish because next year is supposed to be my obstacle year). Reading this again, it is said that this practice can stave off negatives curses and at the same time to appease the local deities. All the more that I think we should do this Black Manjushri practice now. Start now, be consistent and take care of our Mind.

    Thank you Rinpoche

Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa, Tibet

Over 400 years ago a great and learned lama Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was famed in Mongolia, Tibet, Nepal and China for being very saintly and compassionate. He resided in his residence (Zimkhang Gongma Ladrang) in Drepung Monastery. His root guru was H.H. the Omniscient 4th Panchen Lama and his close dharma brother was the 5th Dalai Lama.

The 5th Dalai Lama and Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen had a very close and dharmic relationship and often went to receive teachings together from the 4th Panchen Lama. They were close in age. They both became very learned and well known. During this time, the Dalai Lama was enthroned as a Dharma King of Tibet. But more people went to see Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen for teachings, initiations and divinations. This made the attendants of the 5th Dalai Lama feel threatened that Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s fame might usurp the power of the 5th Dalai Lama. So they had a khata forced down his throat. At that moment, Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen dissolved his psychic winds and generated the wish to be a great guardian of Buddha and Tsongkapa’s teachings. As his consciousness dissolved, he entered ‘bardo’ as a dharma protector of the highest order (jikten depey sungma). Many signs were seen throughout Lhasa at this time and the earth was said to have shaken in Lhasa. This event was already predicted to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s previous incarnation when he was one of the 8 main disciples of Lord Tsongkapa the Supreme Master and he served Tsongkapa directly by building Gaden Monastery.

When the 5th Dalai Lama heard what his scheming and power-hungry attendants had done, he was very distressed. He was very sorry Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was murdered and dishonored as he was a great dharma master. The 5th Dalai Lama composed an apology to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen. In Lhasa, tens of thousands gathered for the cremation of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s holy body. During the cremation, the 5th Dalai Lama’s apology was read out at which flames spontaneously arose from the body of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen commencing the cremation. From the body, during cremation, a powerful whirlwind of smoke tunneled into the sky for all to see as this was an indication Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s consciousness has arisen as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. The Dharma Protector Setrap immediately recognized this new protector Dorje Shugden and ‘enthroned’ him as a powerful Dharma Protector in the realm of the Buddhas. From this, Setrap and Dorje Shugden are closely connected and very close working hand in hand always. After the cremation, the great 5th Dalai Lama built a Dorje Shugden chapel on the spot the cremation took place and named it Trode Khangsar. The 5th Dalai Lama commissioned the statue of Dorje Shugden in this chapel and had monks installed in the chapel to do continuous propitiations to Dorje Shugden. Trode Khangsar Chapel was a commemoration to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who was wronged and also a celebration of his consciousness arising as the World Peace Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

This Trode Khangsar Chapel still exists now in Lhasa where many make pilgrimages there. It is in good condition and was recently renovated. It is over 400 years old and a testimony to the respect the Great 5th Dalai Lama had to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who arose as Dorje Shugden.

I have visited this holy chapel in Lhasa years back. I’ve never heard of it till I was in Lhasa and by chance, I was told about it which I was happy to visit. I could not find the place but strangely a bunch of pilgrims from Amdo told me they would show me how to get there in Lhasa.

This short video is a short clip of this holy Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa today commemorating Dorje Shugden, built by the great 5th Dalai Lama. The great 5th Dalai Lama even composed a prayer to Dorje Shugden which is still available today and we can recite to invoke the blessings, protection, and assistance of World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

    HUM
Though unmoving from the sphere of primordial spontaneity,
With wrathful turbulent power, swifter than lightning,
Endowed with heroic courage to judge good and bad,
I invite you with faith, please come to this place!

Robes of a monk, crown adorned with rhinoceros leather hat,
Right hand holds ornate club, left holds a human heart,
Riding various mounts such as nagas and garudas,
Who subdues the mamos of the charnel grounds, praise to you!

Samaya substances, offerings and torma, outer, inner and secret,
Favourite visual offerings and various objects are arranged.
Although, previously, my wishes were a bit dense,
Do not stop your powerful apparitions, I reveal and confess!

Now respectfully praising with body, speech, and mind,
For us, the masters, disciples, benefactors and entourages,
Provide the good and avert the bad!
Bring increase like the waxing moon in spiritual and temporal realms!

According to our prayers, bestow the supreme effortlessly!
And like the jewel that bestows all wishes,
Always protect us with the Three Jewels!

Even after seeing this article could people still have doubts about the quality of Dorje Shudgen? I suspect there could be a few people who will still hold unchanged views about Dorje Shudgen, for the rest of the other people they would observe the character of Dorje Shugden is one of care, compassion and action. Care and compassion comes through from the advice rendered, by Dorje Shudgen which does not advise us to go deeper into Samsara, but to produce more spiritual results and leave samara. The act giving such a talk is one of the actions of the Dorje Shugden which enlightens all of us, amongst all the vast beneficial actions that Dorje Shudgen takes on behalf of us.

  47. Pastor Moh Mei on Apr 23, 2016 at 12:39 pm

It’s all about the mind. The analogy between our spiritual practice and that of farmer is brilliant and easy to understand. To be a farmer one needs to learn about the crops and the environment. These lessons and experiences that have produced results are applied over and over again and improved upon as we expand. Similarly, methods that failed are discarded or changed.

I often seen people repeating the exact same thing over and over again when troubleshooting. Example there are two power sockets on the wall and plugging into the 1st one did not work. Some people would continue to unplug and plug into the same socket over and over again without doing anything else and somehow expect it to work. Others will try the 2nd socket since the 1st didn’t work. If we apply the same logical troubleshooting techniques into spiritual practices, making changes where things doesn’t work, applying methods which do, perhaps our spiritual growth will be much easier.

Pursuing happiness is like the most common goals of mankind, some would say its wealth but it is under the illusion that wealth brings happiness. The very fact is that in samsara there is no happiness. If there is then the 4 noble truth is wrong. To accept that happiness is impermanent it is equally important to accept that sadness is also impermanent. Both are deceptive and a mere perception of our mind.

We are the creator of our karma, we each hold our own fate in our own hands. Success and failure is our own. The choice is ours to make.

  48. Lin Mun on Apr 18, 2016 at 11:30 pm

Thank you Dorje Shugden and Rinpoche for your advise.

    1. We are so fortunate to be able to learn dharma from Rinpoche here, be able to be part of Kechara and to do dharma work.

    2. It is very important to have a good mind set. Hence doing dharma work will be able to transform our mind.

    3. We must always maintain a good samaya with our Guru. He is a person who will guide us to the right path and continue to guide us with patience and love. It is due to our vow that we are able to meet our Lama and we should not waste time and grab this chance in this lifetime.

    4. We must always have consistency in our practice, do retreat and group recitation mantra collectively if we want to help the growth of Kechara projects and to clear our karma.

    5. Harmony among team member is very important. Without this the result will not be significant. It is very important that we must always remind ourselves to work as a team and focus out rather and thinking everything about ourselves.

    • Pastor Elena Khong Jean Ai on Apr 19, 2016 at 12:24 am

      Hi Lin Mun,

You appear to have understood Dorje Shugden’s advice 🙂 what Dorje Shugden said above, and what he said when he took trance in Wisdom Hall in June 2015 is consistent – the remedy to our problems is constant practice. We must practice every single day and control our minds a little more each day.

So you are right, it is important for us to be consistent and to foster harmony between team members. Actually, if you notice, Dorje Shugden’s advice (as captured by the points that you summarised) is always to benefit us.

If we follow the advice, we don’t lose anything or get harmed in any way. Dorje Shugden also doesn’t personally benefit if we follow his advice. In fact, actually WE benefit from following the advice because we get to improve ourselves and live in a happier environment.

I think it is important also to emphasise what you wrote about how we are able to meet our lama in this lifetime, which is due to our vows. If our merits to meet Rinpoche in this lifetime is because of vows from previous lifetimes, then what we are doing in this lifetime creates the causes for us to meet with our teacher again in our future lifetimes.

      Thank you for your comment!

This is the second time I am reading this advice and I must say that the advice is clear, concise and easy to understand yet profound. I love the manner in which Dorje Shugden talks at our level and dispense with wonderful and useful advice for our spiritual well-being. I think this advice has some blessing in which it gives much needed clarity to my thoughts and deep wish to abide by it. Looking back on my actions, I have not expanded my mind-farm very much over the years. I co-relate this with what Rinpoche has been talking to me recently. I think retreats are important and one that I have to do soon combined with a re-doubled effort to combat laziness. With much blessings of Rinpoche’s and Dorje Shugden’s advice, may I be successful in my struggles and endeavours to better myself.

  52. Wah Ying on Dec 5, 2015 at 5:13 am

It proves again Protector Dorje Shugden is an fully enlightened being, a Buddha; with whose advices are consistent all the way, and full with wisdom, compassion and love — it’s consistent with advices He was given to us during the trance on July 2015. Where He advices us to do good, have good motivation, be selfless, be harmony with each others…Protector’s advice was said with logic, analogy and way this modern days’ people can understand and relate to easily.

The analogy of our mind like a farm and teachings from our lama like seeds is very good. How rich a land is and how good a seed is, when no weeding, no sowing, no ploughing, no watering, no fertilise were done, there will be no harvest. How good a teaching is, no apply there will be no result.

“Whatever you’re experiencing now, whatever you’re feeling now, do not blow it out of proportion. Do not let it linger, do not let it last, do not let it drag” – I will remember this advice well. I realised when I keep thinking some situation I am facing is bad and become worse and worse, and it did…

Thank you Rinpoche and Dorje Shugden for the advice and teachings.

  53. Pastor Patsy on Dec 1, 2015 at 3:29 pm

Due to our karma, we are so fortunate to have found our Lama again thus we should take this precious opportunity and follow the sacred advice to reap a good harvest.

Rinpoche has patiently given us so much dharma and using skilful methods to help us to achieve mind transformation. It is true that Rinpoche is compassionate enough to show us ways to transform our mind as no one would do likewise.

Keep our samaya with our Guru clean, let go of our attachments, comfort zones and fears, have a sincere and open heart, trust and surrender to our Guru and Dharma Protector and we will definitely see a transformation in us.

Thank you, Rinpoche, for sharing this invaluable advice with us.

  54. Chin San on Dec 1, 2015 at 11:21 am

I recently realized that our mind can be easily transformed when we learned to put down our anger. Thus, we become more considerate and compassionate while we have to confront bad situations.

“Happy and sad arise from the same state of mind.” I’ll keep this in mind always and never let negative emotion and thinking drag.

Thank you Rinpoche and Dharma Protector for giving us teachings and advices.

  55. Jace Chong on Dec 1, 2015 at 3:10 am

Thanks Rinpoche for sharing this precious message by Dorje Shugden. The advice is full of logic and I am very touched how Dorje Shugden patiently explain it to us in order to strengthen our mind and guide us to do more.

I especially like the logic of “You have found your Lama again due to finding the vows, but you have your mind go up and down because you broke your vows.” This explain clearly the cause-and-effects or what we call karma.

Since it’s so precious to have meet a Guru and Dharma, we should let our mind farm grows over time becoming more positive by applying what we received from the Guru. The metaphor that Dorje Shugden uses in the advice is very appropriate and that gives us a visual to understand better, how mind transformation progress.

I also understand more on why and how obstacles arise when building a beneficial place like Kechara Forest Retreat, we should follow the advice to tame our mind so many can be benefitted, so that the positive mind farm can spread further and become the main force of the world.

Thanks Rinpoche and Dorje Shugden. _/\_

The kindnesses of our Rinpoche and Dharma protector are immeasurable. Therefore, Kechara Forest Retreat is the place for us to practice dharma and stay in a community to spread the dharma far and wide.. we all have to remember the advice from Rinpoche and the protector…

  57. Khoo on Nov 30, 2015 at 2:02 pm

The advise from Protector is the same as what Rinpoche has been teaching and emphasizing to us many times many years. The advise from an enlightened Protector is the same as the Guru shows that They are having the same mind which is to help and benefit us and lessen our sufferings.

It is true that before meeting Rinpoche no one has show me the way to transform the mind and develop compassion. Rinpoche has used many method to transform our mind and also taught us many methods to practise. This is what no one ever did to me.

I am very fortunate to be in KFR, a place where Rinpoche is building to benefit many by Dharma teachings, retreats, and practise.

    Thank you Rinpoche.

  58. Pastor Lim Han Nee on Nov 29, 2015 at 1:48 pm

The Protector has given invaluable advice. We need to tend the precious seeds of our Guru’s teachings in the garden of our mind with “effort, ethics, application, consistency”. Our minds should not respond to scolding and criticism with happiness and sadness. “Happy and sad”, says Tsem Rinpoche, ” arise from the same state of mind because it arises from the same mind, which is the deluded mind”.

“Do not be attached to being happy which is false. There is no happiness here in samsara. Do not be attached to sadness because the ultimate sadness is the three lower realms, not so much what you are experiencing now”. We should not be dragged down into the abyss by transient states of unhappiness.

Our relationship with our Guru is sacred. It is sacred because of our Guru’s way of helping us achieve mind transformation.”The most sacred achievement we can have is the transformation of our mind from that of a selfish, self-centric person to that of a person who thinks of others and focuses out”.Is is from our Guru that positive activities that reinforce a positive mind comes.

Hence we should show devotion and respect to our Guru in body, speech and mind. When we do that, our deferential actions, our respectful actions will lead others to find the Dharma.

“If you listen to all these teachings from your Guru and you apply immediately then your acreage (of the farm of your mind) will grow and your produce will be bountiful”.

    Thank you Rinpoche.

  59. Sarah on Nov 28, 2015 at 7:46 pm

The most important message here is to cultivate the mind, like a farm which grows by the acres, expanding and growing all the time. We are building the outer Kechara which is very important because we will be benefiting many people, but we must also remember to build the inner Kechara by cultivating the mind. The instructions given are relevant to all of us. Thank you Rinpoche and Protector.

  60. Doreen Teoh on Nov 26, 2015 at 6:59 pm

The message that fascinated me is that Dharmapala Dorje Shugden has cleared the obstacles and set the condition for the spread of dharma and building of KFR, and the instructions that been given is that we hold our vows, clean samaya, Guru Devotion, Build together, nurture, help, reduce the anger. Build with harmony, cooperation, no pettiness.

The Farm condition has been set, we just have to consistently, water (learn), pull weeds (effort), fertiliser (nurture), and get rid of pesticide (our mind), and then watch the seed grows, and have fruits. Thank you, Guru and Protector.

    With folded hands,

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the advice and teachings given by Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden to benefit all of us. The advice given by Dorje Shugden are full of compassion and I personally can feel Dorje Shugden is holding all of us closed to His heart and wants us to practice Dharma all the way and spread the Dharma to benefit more people who are yet to hear or receive any Dharma teachings. In fact, it is a very rare opportunity to meet with Rinpoche and our Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden in this life time, and we should treasure this opportunity to make our Dharma practice even more firm and continue to grow in both inner and outer forms.

Upon reading the advice from Dorje Shugden, we need to learn the Dharma with good motivations, practice Dharma sincerely and consistently and grow our Dharma practice to benefit more people who are directly and indirectly connecting to us. Besides, we need to take control and tame our mind when bringing Dharma to those who are new in Dharma as our first impression to them is important whether we will attract them to Dharma and continue to progress or we will drive them away because we are not consistent with our Dharma practice or not sincerely to benefit others. We should let go of our worldly attachments when we start to realize the essence of Dharma, especially the realization of Emptiness that nothing we can bring along to our next life except with our mind and karma collected from our current life. As such, we can accumulate the merits and purify our karma as much as we can while we are still intact in a perfect human body.

Guru devotion must be put as the highest of importance level in order for us to progress further in our Dharma practice as all the sources in our Dharma practice come directly from our Guru, which will benefit us along the way in our practice.

In order to bring Dharma to more people and all sentient beings, team work with harmony, peace, cooperation and understanding of each other within an organization is important as this is the real Dharma practice when we start to engage with a bigger spiritual event that can spread the Dharma to all directions. Consistency in our Dharma practice with good motivations to benefit more people are the key to make Dharma to grow more.

Thank you Rinpoche for your kindness and compassion always and may Rinpoche stay in good health and live long to turn the wheel of Dharma.

    With folded hands,

If we have sowed the seeds which Rinpoche has given out so generously and wisely, in the correct manner, we would be able to reap a good harvest at the end of the day. We are very fortunate to have Rinpoche and should not let this opportunity lapse but instead as Rinpoche said
” your consistent practice. Your retreats that purify. Your continued Dharma work and most important, a good mind, constantly striving to break the comfort zones in order to be of benefit to others through your work “.
Thank you Rinpoche . With folded hands.

  63. Stella Cheang on Nov 25, 2015 at 2:08 pm

Thank you Rinpoche for this profound sharing.

I like the analogy that liken our mind as a farm and us, practitioners, as farmer. Whether the farmer dud his work or not will be shown by the produce of his farm. Similarly, the result of our practice is in our mind transformation. If after several years of “practicing”, we are still attached to frame and constantly need others to babysit our ego, maybe we should practice more and talk less.

The feeling of happy and sad are temporary and hence we should not hold on to it. Most of us are in the habituation to be attached to the object or person that makes me happy, for example through his/her praise. Because of this habituation we are deluded and mistaken that we will be able to find happiness in samsara.

Thank you Rinpoche for this profound teaching. I will reflect on it and watch my mind more closely.

    Humbly, bowing down,
    Stella

    • Stella Cheang on Apr 18, 2016 at 9:52 pm

I would like to add on a few more points that I learnt from my re-read:

1.The dharma that we receive from our Lama is like seeds, where our mind is like the garden / farm. We are farmer who should plant the seeds, nurture it and see to its fruition.
2.After years of receiving dharma, our spiritual mind should expand and we should be able to see results. The tools that we can use to nurture the farm (of our mind) are efforts, ethics, application and consistency.
3.Our mind never bring us long term benefit; it always show us disappointment, sorrow, coldness, fear, anger, distance and comfort zone. Happy or sad arise from the same state of mind (deluded mind).
4.We need to consistently show respect to our Guru because it not only means maintaining a good Samaya with the Guru but also lead others to Dharma.
5.When we apply the teaching of our Guru immediately and consistently, our mind will expand and result will show.
6.Harmony is the outcome of us seeing a bigger goal instead of our petty selfish agenda.

Thank you Rinpoche and Dorje Shugden for this important teaching.

      Humbly, bowing down,
      Stella Cheang

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing Dorje Shugden advice. We are very blessed and fortunate to meet Rinpoche and to be able to practice Dorje Shugden given by Rinpoche. Rinpoche and protector have compassionately given us bags and bags of seeds but how many Farms have we been planted and how much of food we have produced? Have we put in all our efforts to take care of the farm so that it produced beautiful and healthy food? Have we transformed our mind or still running around with our sneaky mind? How many years do we still need our Guru and protector to wait? Do we have the time?

There’s no happiness in samsara and no sadness sadder than the 3 lower realms. If we can’t bear the suffering here what makes you think we can bear the suffering in the 3 lower realms. our time is running out, but we are still too busy enjoying in all the negative actions, happily practicing the 8 worldly concerns and continue to harm others.

Rinpoche has come to us, bringing along His 25 life times of blessings and wisdom to us. Rinpoche compassionately created so much of positive activities for us to do via 13 departments. Rinpoche compassionately continue to build Kechara Forest Retreat to benefit us and all sentient beings.

It is our responsibilities to reinforce our positive mind. All negativities arise from our karma and our deluded mind, our broken vows and promises in the past. Not only that, we have to even fight for the karma of the people who will be benefited from us. Catch our mind whenever negative thoughts arise. Set our motivation right for whatever we do. Rinpoche has skillfully created a lot of good causes to arise for our benefits. Now Protector has given us the solutions and advice hence we should not doubt but follow all the way along with clean samaya with our Guru.

We are here because Rinpoche has been our Guru in the past hence treasured it, always remember what our Guru had repeatedly taught and reminded us to do and do it sincerely so that we do not wasted this life again because chances like this very hard to come.

  65. Sock Wan on Nov 24, 2015 at 3:19 am

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the teaching with us. There are 2 points that strike me the most in the article:

    1. “Do not wait for your Lama to contact you. And the reason is to create the causes to receive the teachings.”

We are very fortunate to have a Guru who uses many different methods to help us to create the cause for a higher purpose. A Lama is very compassionate, he will not reject us because he doesn’t like us. He has no favouritism, it is due to our Karmas that we are rejected. By him rejecting us (if our request is not to harm but to benefit others), he is most likely helping us to purify our karma or develop good qualities such as perseverance, putting our ego down apart from helping us to create the cause for something bigger. Our Lama is a Buddha, a Buddha has achieved equanimity, he will never dislike or hate us.

    2. “From many lifetimes ago, you must have had a connection with this Lama. Hence you are here again to meet again, to do things again. Some of you have broken your vows and your refuge, and some of you have broken serious vows in your previous lives. ” It is said in the article that our mind is up and down because we are lack of integrity of holding our vows in your previous life. But somehow we meet our Lama again and he will use every methods that he can to help us to develop our integrity, to purify our karma so that we can progress in our spiritual practice and eventually achieve Buddhahood. This also made me understand why I end up here in my center, with my Lama. I must treasure this good fortune.

Being in a Dharma center can only make us a better person unless we do not put what we learn in practice.

Thank you Admin for posting this precious teachings and advice by World Peace Protector, Dorje Shugden. We are indeed very bless and fortunate to connect to our supremely kind guru, H.E The 25th Tsem Rinpoche and Dorje Shugden in this lives.

The dharma teachings that bestowed by our Lama should be put into full practice in our lives inorder to break away from traditional mindset and bad habituations, hence it liberates us from the cycle of suffering.

Happy and sad arise from the same state of mind because it arises from the same mind, which is the deluded mind. Therefore, we should not cling on it because these moments are all impermanent state and will pass away when conditions change.

Keep our relationship, samaya with your Guru clean – a sincere heart, an open heart, appreciation and always show great deference to a Guru. As Guru is the only one that can lead us towards liberation.

Our consistent practice and continued Dharma work and most important, a good mind, constantly striving to break the comfort zones to be of benefit to others through our work.

We are so very fortunate to meet our Lama and Dharma Protector in this life. Without our Lama and Dharma Protector, we simply cannot free ourselves from samsara. How wonderful and lucky I am to have the opportunity to listen to the advice given above!

Since beginningless time until now, our mind has not transformed and brought us out of samsara. We are simply too caught up with the Eight Worldly Concerns. We cannot blame the Guru, Protector and Dharma for whatever suffering that we are still experiencing. Our guru had kindly and compassionately given us the incomparable Lama Tsongkhapa Teachings that can liberate us from samsara and to become a Buddha. If we chose not to put into practice these precious teachings, it is entirely our faults! If we don’t put the teachings into immediate practice, when will we?

Our relationships with other sentient beings in samsara until now are not beneficial. Only the relationship with our guru is important and sacred as it will benefit us life after life until we are fully enlightened. We must realise the importance of keeping our samaya with our guru clean as the guru is the foundation to all our attainments.

Having received Dharma, we should not be deceived by samsara and still indulge in the pleasures of samsara and remain in our comfort zones. We must control and overcome our emotions and delusions and not the reverse. Our guru had put in so much patience, love, care and compassion to help us transform our minds; no other similarly deluded sentient beings in samsara like us will ever do that for us! We must be very grateful and reciprocate with the positive transformation of our minds.

The advice given by Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden here is so timely, accurate, direct and beneficial that we simply cannot summarise all the points given. Every single word, sentence and paragraph in the article above are meaningful and applicable. The advice is applicable to everyone and anyone who is serious about transforming their minds and liberating themselves from samsara. It cannot be recommended strongly enough!

The kindnesses of our Lama and Dharma protector are immeasurable. Lord Protector Dorje Shugden said towards the end: “I will always assist; follow the Buddha’s teachings, I will always assist. Do you understand? I will pray to the Three Jewels for you always.” Lord Protector Dorje Shugden will definitely help us in the transformation of our minds. What we need to do is to rely, trust and surrender to our Lama, Dharma protector and to practise Dharma immediately.

Thank You Rinpoche and Lord Protector Dorje Shugden for these precious and invaluable advice and teachings. The essence of the entire path to liberation and enlightenment is contained within this advice.

The Farm of your Mind” 之后,感受很深,上师和护法对众生的爱,是毫无条件的。 This is the farm of your mind!

The Farm of your Mind”裡道出了一位认真的行者所具备的条件,严守戒律、上师依止心和付出努力是行者获得成就的三大主要的关键。

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this precious teachings from our Protector Dorje Shugden. We need to apply teachings into daily life, to break our comfort zone in order to benefits others. We need to keep our relationship and samaya clean with our Guru. I will always bear in mind these key points.

Thank you Rinpoche and the writers team for this important teaching, reading the teaching given by Dorje Shugden shows the enlighten nature and wisdom of Dorje Shugden.

Our mind is a very complex, our happiness, sadness, joy, hatred, love jealousy all arise from our mind, but it can be a powerful tool that can help us to overcome physical and emotional suffering. Hence Dharma is the antidote for our mind, especially for us who is practicing Dharma.
The more years we are in Dharma, our action should reflect the amount of Dharma we had receive from our Guru who has so kindly gave us the method, the practice, the teaching to help us overcome our inner and outer problem, especially our flippant mind. But if we only receive and does not put into practice, our Dharma practice become wasted resources, as year goes by the amount of Dharma we receive will goes to waste and does not bear fruit, because we never put effort into practice, to transform.

Just like a farm, if we do not sow and plough the land and fertilize the seeds, and we let our laziness, excuses, assumption and perception take charge, weed (ego, anger, jealousy) starts to grows, and devour the land we fail to produce fruits (results).

We should challenge and come out of our comfort zone, as it is a trap that like a quicksand drags us down deeper and deeper. We must overcome our comfort zone, as it does not benefit as we become lazy, finding excuse, hide and run away from responsibility and changes, so we must break free from it, to break free we are able to move forward with our spirituality.

Whatever our Guru gave is purely for our benefits, Our Guru is skillful to apply teaching through different mean to help us, thus we shall keep our samaya clean, to have strong Guru devotion, because our Guru is the person who can guide us to liberation from suffering of Samsara and achieve enlightenment. Hence, we should treat our Guru different from our parents or love ones.

    Thank You Rinpoche

    Love and Care,

We were very fortunate to receive this precious teachings from Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden.

We must respect and remember the kindness of our precious Guru,H.E.The 25th Tsem Rinpoche,it is from the Guru, we will achieve all realization. Abandon the duality of good and bad as it brings it’s own set of problems. These Eight Worldly concerns keeps us pretty busy in our life.We think these things will bring us lasting and perfect happiness, but it doesn’t.
To work harmoniously and expand the teachings of our beloved Guru with flexible and stable state of mind, unshaken by the difficulties we encounter with the blessings of our beloved Guru and Protector.
The profound practice of Black Manjushri who is the wrathful healing form of Manjushri helps us to heal our deep negative emotions and mental sufferings.Reciting Her Mantra can protect us from black magic,curses,ill-wish and jealousy. Despite being long-time Buddhist many of us are not fantastic Dharma practitioners with substantial spiritual breakthroughs in terms of realisation of deeper wisdom and expression of greater compassion. We must not be selective but to be increasingly consistent in effort to stretch our limits, to further actualise our spiritual potential.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this meaningful message.May Kechara Forest Retreat grow for the benefit of all beings.

  72. Ee Mun on Nov 22, 2015 at 10:34 pm

Thank you very much Rinpoche and everyone who is involved in coming out with this important teaching from the Dharmapala Dorje Shugden to the Kechara Forest Retreat Team.

This teaching is not only very apt for me but also clear a few doubts that have been perplexing me for a while.

The following are the key takeaways that I found to be very important:

    1. Result/actual mind transformation matters. It is futile to keep on learning and receiving Dharma teachings from the Guru if there is no actual positive transformation and results in our mind transformation. Hence we need to be very honest with ourselves and constantly “check in” with ourselves: Am I improving for the better? The teaching says: “This is the farm of your mind. This is the acreage of your development. And the teachings are like seeds. You should not take the seeds and throw it away on someone else’s land and you getting no benefits.”

    2. During the time of unstable mind, be mindful, catch it and don’t reinforce it. It is entirely up to us to stop whatever negativity that arises from our own mind if we really do not want to suffer or make people around us to be adversely affected due to our own negative and unstable mind. As per the teaching: “When your mind goes up and down, catch it immediately. Do not let it go further. At no point in your life has your mind brought you long-term and ultimate benefits. Everything that has been brought by your mind ended up in sorrow, disappointment, coldness, fear, anger, distance and, most important, the biggest obstacles – comfort zones.” This also reminds me of a book that I read many years ago in response to someone whose mind is very unstable and negative. A wise friend advised her: “You need to learn how to select your thoughts just the same way you select your clothes every day. This is a power you can cultivate. If you want to control things in your life so bad, work on the mind. That’s the only thing you should be trying to control.”
    3. Never forget the immeasurable kindness of the Guru and the preciousness of having our Guru in this current life who tirelessly and continuously imparts valuable Dharma teachings. Develop and maintain a consistent and positive Guru-disciple relationship. As per the teaching: “If you develop a consistent, positive relationship with your Guru, then the positive, consistent mind will develop in your consciousness.”

    4. Never take for granted whatever said and imparted in any manner whatsoever by the Guru: “Listen and focus and concentrate, and contemplate what comes out of your Guru’s mouth the most. Definitely it will be about mind transformation, about patience and tolerance, about bringing yourself to another level and dealing with others different than the way you dealt with them before. Why? If you listen to all these teachings from your Guru and you apply immediately – not tomorrow, not the next day, not when you’re in the mood, not when you’re rested, not when you’re feeling better – if you apply immediately, then your acreage will grow and your produce will be bountiful.”

    5. To keep the relationship, samaya with our Guru clean by cultivating a sincere heart, an open heart and appreciation. Show great deference to the Guru, put the Guru in a special place in our heart for the relationship with the Guru is extra-normal, paranormal, extra-worldly, extra-terrestrial. New and unfamiliar initially as this sacred relationship to me who embarked on the Dharma path not too long ago in this current life, without me knowing when, where and how my “Guru” has that unexplainable exceptional position, this explanation by the Dharmapala Dorje Shugden makes much sense. I believe it is the impact of the teachings by Rinpoche that lead me to some realizations of the root of my unhappiness, how I am the creator of whatever circumstances I encountered and a shift of my mind and perspective is the antidote. There is also a sense of “indebtedness” towards Rinpoche and wondering what if I never “met” Rinpoche, without such realisations, I will plunge deeper in my ignorance and delusion.

    6. Reason for mind fluctuating is due to the broken promises we’ve made in our previous lives, especially in relations to serious vows. But there is hope, the remedy is be consistent in our practice : engage in purifying retreats , continue Dharma work and most important, a good mind, constantly striving to break the comfort zones in order to be of benefit to others through our work. This is an important revelation to me for I now know for the reason for my constantly fluctuating mind but there are antidotes to it.

    Thank you very much Rinpoche.

With deepest gratitude and folded hands,
    Ee Mun

Any advice given by the Buddhist protector, Dorje Shugden is precious. Reminding us our lama is here with us, we need to farm our minds to push our potentials further to benefit ourselves, our lama and the lineage. We need to overcome our laziness, anger, jealousy, desire and focus on improving the quality of our mind to help others. A garden/farm is a natural resource, just like how the mind is of the same nature of all beings. A garden needs lots of hard work to keep it producing good fruits from the labor.

Karmically, we should be thankful and consider ourself so fortunate that we can receive such invaluable advice from our powerful Dharma protector, Dorje Shugden! He is an enlightened Buddha and a supreme qualified teacher. As said in this invaluable perfect dharma advice, we should not confine this advice to kecharians only, but should be shared amongst anyone or everyone generously, who wishes to advance in the maintaining of a supreme guru-disciple relationship with their beloved teacher. As said, for those of us who are serving full-time at Kechara should consider to come out fulltime from our comfort zone as mentioned in the advice, because you have to tolerate not to have such comfort zone to become negative, expect people to reach out to us, nuture and take care of us at 30, 40, 50; This must stop. Act our age, behave and develope well. We must acquire more knowledge to be able to release the sufferings of others in our practice. Do our retreats, especially black Manjushri as a group to have more powerful eefects. Do not wait for our Lama to contact us. More importantly, keep our samaya with our guru clean and extraordinary. Have good intimate relationship, trust, spiritual belief and reliability with our guru and be harmonious. Show a good degree of enthusiasm and trust by effectively carrying out whatever tasks or instructions given us by our guru. Let us therefore make a deephearted effort in following through effectively this precious advice at all cost to benefit others. Thank you Rinpoche, for the sharing of this important valuable teachings from our Dharma protector. Om Benza Wikibitana Soha.

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for this wonderful teaching from Dorje Shugden. This teaching is so precious that with our deluded minds we have ignored for so long.

Personally, for me it is so much to do with breaking out from my comfort zone, be brave, be sincere, be ethical and be determined.

Everything arises from our minds. Therefore, Kechara Forest Retreat is the place for us to heal our minds and therefore to bring others too in order for them to heal their minds. The ultimate objective is to let them come to Dharma and to grow their farm thereon.

    Thank you Dorje Shugden

It was a great blessing and fortunate that we have the World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden to give the Kechara Forest Retreat team a dharma talk and advices.

What that stood out from the teaching :

    1) after so long we have learn the dharma we should improve ourself as time goes. We should catch our up and down mind as it’s coming from the state of mind that will only bring more delusions to ourself. Deeper realisation we should focus from happiness and sadness we experience and nit just the feeling at the moment.

    2) We should not treat our Guru the same as any of ordinary relationship as our Guru is the one that make us realise how we can improve our life and guide us with method to bring real benefit for us and people around us. We should reflect ourself before and after we meet our Guru. We should check out ourselves what are the different or improvemebt we have done before and after Guru. We should regards our Guru with greatest respect and so other people will give the same respect to the dharma holder that only want to bring the greatest benefit to the people.

    3) Compassionate advice by protector to do retreat and be harmony. We are fighting with our karma and also people that will be benefited from KFR. We should take up their karma as the reason for KFR is to benefit people and Protector is compassionate to advice method for us to purify.

    4) There are reasons why we able to meet our Guru this life and there is no coincident. We still have a merits despite our negative karma and we should take good opportunity now to do more and go all the way with what our Guru advice so we can amend and create the cause for us to meet our Lama again in future with perfect condition to learn and continue to practice dharma.

Thank you again Rinpoche for creating all this opportunity for us.

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you for sharing this precious Dharma teaching directly from our Powerful Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden.

The biggest and heaviest obstacle in us to receive Dharma teachings, to keep clean Guru and diciple relationship, to practice good practices, to deliver Dharma to more sentient being, to act and benefit all sentient being, is attachments.

Everyone one of us are born to be in attached to different objects or subjects, family, friend, love, money and live. We are all injected by the norm of how to live to be a successful individual. To study, work, to develop a family and have a good life. This is all negative KARMA, it ll only lead us into the cycle of suffer because we have not receive any Dharma teachings and practice it to benefit ourselves and also other sentient beings. Hence, we should all be strong and stable to learn and control our mind and body, rather than ultimately control by the urges, attachments, then, being dragged into the cycle of suffer, again and again.

I truly believe, when the day we are able to unattach to what we have used to, gradually we will be free from suffers and ultimately.. Enlightened just like Buddhas.

    Thank you. _/|\_

We, at Kechara, are indeed very fortunate that our Great World Peace Protector, Dorje Shugden, speaks with love and compassion. It is very timely as we are embarking on the expansion of Kechara Forest Retreat in Chamang, Bentong. With expansion comes construction, with construction comes more contractors and their workers. Dorje Shugden foresees there will be some obstacles having to deal with our own mind and of others before, during and after construction.

The whole teaching is dharma, nothing about sowing seeds to harm others, no schismatic talk nor negative advice against others, no ill means to make others suffer, no politics. It is dharma, dharma, dharma. For He is none other than the Lord of Wisdom, Manjushri.

    THE Farm of your Mind

    Dear Rinpoche

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you for published this important advise from Dorje Shugden

This is a very important article that enables me to check my spiritual progresses and also the motivation in dharma. How many peoples and result I have since I enter Kechara.

It is very true that feeling of happy and sad arise from the same mind. Thus, I should not feel over happy when people praise me and sad when get scold. If fact, I should find out the root cause when I get scolded, learn and not repeat the mistake to make people around me who care for me to be worry. And, when I get praise and feel happy, I should checked what have I done to get this result, then use this result as formula to expand to other of my dharma work. Like the farm that Dorje Shugden’s advise, increase the farm and be bountiful . This is really a beautiful advise from Dorje Shugden.

Beside, it is also a very important advise from Dorje Shugden to get me understand deeper on the important of Samaya. I am glad to serve under Rinpoche for this life . A question I have always been asking was, why cant my mind be consistent and peace. It this article, I have found my answer. This is because at previous life I have not kept my vows well. Knowing this cause, it pushes me to repair the broken samaya. It pushes me not to break the promise I have made this life.

Rinpoche is so kind, so compassion. Even though Rinpoche can see that the student have break the promise on previous life and hurt the Rinpoche badly. But, Rinpoche still keeps the student close to him. This action reminds me of a story of Buddha, that in one of Buddha’s previous life HE was a snake, and, a group of kids bit the snake. Buddha at that time, not only do not rise any hatred, but pray that through this karma, may the kids connect with him and able to learn dharma. The mind of compassion and wanting to benefits people in any mean have got me think deeply , and be brave to be beneficial.

Thank you Rinpoche for the this article.
And , also to the team who get the advise published.

    With folded hand,
    Freon

Thank you for the profound advice shared in the post.

1.As years passed by our Dharma knowledge should expand and grow. The seeds we planted in our mind should be shared, applied and produce result not to be kept.

    2. Do not let our mind sway away as it does not benefit us. Our biggest
obstacles is our comfort zone which will bring us to negative thoughts and this demotivate us

    3. Happiness and sadness is only in our state of mind. Do not be attached to it as this are delusion and are impermanent

    4. Practice guru devotion , have a clean samaya with our guru sincerely and wholeheartely. Our relationship with our guru is sacred. Our guru constant teachings, advices , guidance , compassion and unconditional caring implant a postive mind which lead us to mind transformation and our ultimate goal.

5.Be harmonious with each other. Disharmony in a workplace will create
unhappiness, seperation and work is not effective. Take care of each other like a blood family

    6. Kechara Forest Land – local deities and spirits are like us. As the work progresses the local deities get disturbed and this create unhappiness and disharmony within the group. Hence it is very important to do continuously retreats. Manjushri retreats is highly recommended as it will staved off all negative depreciation, curses and gossip.
We must create the cause to contact the lama for more teachings.

    7. A constant practice, take responsibility and continue dharma work with good mind and integrity to benefit others through our work.

  85. Adeline Tan on Nov 21, 2015 at 3:44 pm

Thanks to Lord Dorje Shudgen for this profound teaching on the mind and all the precious advises.
We all need to come out of our comfort zone, make effort, push ourselves to work hard to bring dharma to others. The most important thing i learned from this article is to keep our samaya clean with our guru listen and follow instructions and go all the way is the key to improve our spiritual growth. Just like a farmer who needs to take care of his farmland such as weeding, fertilisation, watering, protect from insects and birds consistantly then at the end of the day the harvest will be bountiful.
Same goes to our Kechara Forest Retreats Land, everyone must put in effort to build and make it grows to become a world class dharma instituition to spread dharma far and wide to benefit people all over the world.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this precious teaching.

This is such an amazing precious teachings that can only be given by an enlightened being. How kind and compassionate of our Dharmapala Dorje Shugden to be giving us such intimate precious advices. We’re so extremely fortunate to have this close connection due to our kind Lama. The advices and points that stood out are…

    1) Our relationship with our Guru is the most sacred hence we should always treat it with utmost respect, appreciation and care. We should never treat it like any other ordinary relationship we have/had in samsara. Hence it is most IMPORATNT – keep your relationship, samaya with your Guru clean.

    2) The relationship with our Guru doesn’t just benefit this life but even future lives and especially our mind. If we apply all that our Guru has taught us immediately, then we will definitely see transformation within ourselves.

    3) We should never waste our Guru’s effort in teaching and advising us for years. If all of our Guru’s advices and teachings were applied then we will spiritually grow and bare good results. The results would be obvious as we would be able to do more and our transformation would be seen and felt because the formula and methods given by our Guru can be applied in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc instructions. When Dharma is sincerely applied, there will definitely be improvements in us.

    4) We should beware and always catch our monkey mind that goes up and down and deceives because everything it has brought us is just more pain, disappointment, suffering and sorrow. It has brought us no benefit, hence why do we need to keep holding on to it? Hence we need to catch our mind and apply the antidote which is the Dharma that our Guru has kindly taught us.

    5) Happiness and sadness arises from the same mind. They are both ends of extreme that we should not be attached to neither. We should practice the Dharma without the eight worldly concerns as much as we can and apply the eight verses of thought transformation to nurture our mind spiritually and positively otherwise we can easily spiral down and degenerate. So many have degenerated… no matter how senior, scholarly or even close to the Guru we may be, when we do Dharma with the 8 worldly concerns and we don’t catch our mind, don’t apply the teachings, it is so easy for us degenerate.

    6) Anything that comes from our Guru even a scolding is precious and is to benefit it; to WAKE us up from our delusions and illusions before it’s too late and we self-destruct. The fact that the Guru cares enough to even scold us, is considered a great blessing. Hence how we act towards our Guru should always be with great respect and devotion that will help us cultivate a positive mind that will develop further.

    7) We should practice Guru Devotion well, as it helps remind us to have humility and be respectful towards our Guru. It also sends a message to others how they are so fortunate to have met with a Guru and how they should treat the Guru and this can lead them to find out more about Dharma. Hence our behaviour and actions can bring someone to the Dharma.

    8) The local deities of the land are just like we humans and they can get disturbed by our works. The way the attack is by creating ‘disharmony’ amongst us to split us and so we leave/quit and then the work gets stalled. So it is important for those staying in KFR to do Black Manjushri retreats as a group. But most IMPORATANT is that everyone is harmonious with each other, love and care for each other like blood family. Show our care by being active around KFR and contribute to its upkeep.

    9) Our mind fluctuates is due to many broken promises from previous lives. The remedy is be consistent in our practice, do purification retreats, continue with our Dharma work. Most importantly to have a good mind, a good motivation and strive to break our comfort zones so that we can be of benefit to others through our work.

  87. Jill Yam on Nov 21, 2015 at 12:59 am

I like a particular key message in the teaching, which is growth. After planting the seeds of Dharma, and if we practice it right, I think it’s a self fulfilling growth. As mentioned in the teaching “whatever you learn on the first acre can be applied on the second, third and fourth”.

So I guess for Dharma to grow within ourselves, the foundation seed has to be nurtured properly, which the teaching focused on guru devotion.

This is a very good teaching to meditate on, thank you Rinpoche.

  88. Serena on Nov 21, 2015 at 12:49 am

Having expectation –> Build negative mind –> Creates emotion fluctuation and react towards the things that upset us.

It is true that we always get upset when things or people not as what we expected. Then our negative mind start growing big and we will continuous react to it without thinking much. If we react to it, are we able to change things or people? No, we are unable to.

The beauty of dharma is to allow us understand the impermanence of everything around us. Why wasting time to wondering in negative world? While we still alive, we can make a choice to be happy and bring happiness to people around us. Consistent positive action and benefiting others is required for mind transformation. Make it as habit and part of our life.

«The Farm of Your Mind» remind me again the importance of consistency positive action. No doubt I am still trying. But nothing is impossible as long as I got faith in myself and our Guru. JIA You.

    Thanks Rinpoche with folded hands

The teaching from Dharmapala Dorje Shugden has clearly shown us the method and direction to improve and expand our mind in dharma. Only a higher level realized being, that has attainment, just like Buddha Shakyamuni, will gives advice like this.

    i have learned that,

    1. Improves our mind every year, whatever we leaned should be accumulated and applies through out the years

    2. Happy and sad raises from the same mind. Do not be attached to being happy which is false, and Do not be attached to sadness because the ultimate sadness is the three lower realms.

    3. Never let negative emotions and thinking and behaviours drag us down

    4. the relationship with our Guru is sacred, he teaches us to transform our mind, must keep our relationship, samaya with our Guru clean.

    5. Be harmonious, loving and respectful with each other.

    6. Have a good mind, constantly striving to break the comfort zones in order to be of benefit to others through our work

Those we were in the presence of the Protector are indeed fortunate to receive this precious advice directly from his enlightened mind, and to receive purification of our obstacles and blessings to grow further.

The analogy of transforming the mind and tending to a farm is direct and so easy to understand. Yes we must weed out anger, jealousy and non-virtuous thoughts and cultivate the seeds of wisdom, compassion and of course, the relationship with the Guru as being the most important factor for our farm to success and thrive.

The guru sows the seeds, he ploughs our mind, he fertilizes the saplings of transformation. Yet it is us who reaps the benefits of the abundant crop.

So keep weeding, sowing, planting, fertilizing. I know I will. Thank you Rinpoche.

  93. Li Kheng on Nov 20, 2015 at 3:39 pm

Thank you for this post and precious message from our Protector. The advise given is so profound and can be applied to create most beneficial results in everything that we want to do. Like the saying, we reap the seeds we sow, it is only logical that if we plant the seeds of virtue, dharma, goodness, hard work etc. we will ultimately enjoy the fruits of such labor.

I also feel to lucky to be “forewarned” about things to come and also receive the antidote. In life, so often things just happen to us (both the good and the bad) and we get completely consumed by these events in ways that we create negative karma. However, when we are given clear explanation and advise, we are able to notice when events/phenomena occur and respond with more neutrality and exhaust the karma while collect merits. How effective! 🙂

It was also super lucky for us to actually receive personal advise from the divine and our Guru on specific practices to engage in to overcome our particular afflictions.

I watched a video by Rinpoche (More empty words… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HpeLed_zyM8 ) where Rinpoche shares about how his Gurus are so precious: because they show him attainments, enlightenment, compassion, wisdom are all possible. Why? because they are living examples of it. We often talk about Guru Devotion and there are bombastic reasons of why the Guru is precious. However, practically and for daily reminders and inspirations, our Guru reveal to us every moment that transforming Dharma teachings into action is very possible by their own actions of body, speech and mind.

It was an honor to receive this teaching on “farming” from Rinpoche who made dharma relatable and accessible to us!

  95. Pastor Elena Khong Jean Ai on Nov 20, 2015 at 4:55 am

This post to me was very moving because:

    1) since he was speaking to the construction and green team of Kechara Forest Retreat, Dorje Shugden’s analogy of the farm being our mind was relevant, simple and so easy to understand. It very much reflects the skilful means of enlightened beings who present the Dharma to the listener in the way that

    2) Dorje Shugden is consistent. Throughout all the times I have been fortunate enough to receive teachings from him, he always says that the key to solving our problems is to transform our mind. He never tells us to rely on magic, never gives us the easy way out and gives us (for example) the numbers to win the lottery. He never says he is the ultimate and only protector, but instead teaches us about the real protection which is understanding and refuge in the teachings on karma.

    3) so in this, I see that he cares for us beyond the ordinary fleeting happiness that samsaric gains will result in. What he really wants for us is ultimate happiness and for us to end our suffering permanently.

    4) the lama and the Protector work hand in hand to assist the student on the spiritual path, and both he and the lama are without ego. They don’t care about accumulating the most number of students, that is not what is important to them. What is important is that the student meets the authentic Dharma. And although he himself is an enlightened being, still he prays to the Three Jewels for us where in his true nature as Manjushri, he already is one of the Three Jewels.

    5) Dorje Shugden doesn’t just care for beings seen but ALL sentient beings, including beings unseen. If he didn’t care about them, he would just advise us to vanquish and destroy those who create obstacles in our works. However, he advises us how we can placate them AND accomplish our goals.

In this, I find that his care is all-encompassing and farsighted in that he prevents us from creating more negative karma by teaching us how to work with unseen beings instead of creating more negative karma by destroying them (which would be the easier way out).

The more I listen to Dorje Shugden’s teachings, the more my love for him grows. Although he appears in the guise of a worldly Dharma Protector, clearly his teachings and wisdom show he is far beyond that…and through the kindness of our lama, we have been able to connect with such a great being over and over again _/|\_

  96. Pastor Shin on Nov 20, 2015 at 3:00 am

Many have said bad things about Dorje Shugden, but if they read the content of this article, they would realise that Dorje Shugden is indeed a real Dharmapala who constantly advise everyone to practice Dharma and asked nothing for himself.

The very apt analogy of a spiritual farmer and how one’s acreage should expand clearly illustrate how a student should develop his/ her mind with effort, ethics, application of Dharma and consistency. This is a good reminder for all of us.

Dharmapala’s wisdom is apparent in the way how one-line can summarise so much, this shows clearly his penetrative insight into the reality- “At no point in your life has your mind brought you any benefits, if you think about it carefully”. Our negative mind and quality did not serve us prior to Dharma, and will not serve us during Dharma.

Dharmapala also highlighted why our relationship with our Guru is sacred, because it is this relationship that can bring about the transformation of our mind from that of a selfish, self-centric person to that of a person who thinks of others and focuses out.

As always, the compassionate protector Dorje Shugden has given remedies for our issues and problems: consistent practice, retreats that purify, Dharma work and a good mind that strives to benefit others that has no comfort zones.

Thank you Admin for sharing this profound teachings from Dharmapala Dorje Shugden. I believe this article will bless many.

  97. Pastor Adeline on Nov 20, 2015 at 2:13 am

These precious teachings from Dorje Shugden are sacred and clearly dharmic. No devil will ask us to practise the buddha dharma and be of benefits of others. Some of the points I have learned as follows:

    1. When we apply the teachings of our Guru, putting dharma into actions, logically we will produce positive results and see the positive transformation of our mind.

    2. Eight Worldly Dharmas bring us no where but continue to suffer. These eight practices led us to the wrong path, causing our mind to become unstable, bear no results from our practise.

    3. When we show respect to our Guru from our heart sincerely, we will be the cause for others to meet dharma through any Guru they have karmic relation with.

    4. Black Manjushri will have many powerful effects. It will stave off the curses that people send to us, including negative words, curses, negative gossip and talk, ill-wishes and jealousies etc.

    5. Consistent practice is the remedy for our broken vows, through retreats we purify. Only through continued dharma work with a good mind, constantly striving to break our comfort zones will we be of benefit to others through our work. All results come from us making all necessary efforts.

After reading the whole article, looks so familiar to me, then I realised that my Guru H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche had taught the same thing many times and many years, the question is how much I have transformed? Honestly my transformation is not fast.

If I understand correctly that is very wonderful that we learn Dharma(the seed) and we put into practice, the seed will grow fast and become big and benefit ownself and others, this is very wonderful, however it also tell me that if I planted “bad (negative)seed, it grow fast also, and become habit and we become comfortable on it ,that is very dangerous if this is “bad” seed.

It is true that I have done more positive things after met my Guru such like less complaint, much more easy on acceptance of others, more patience and tolerance. The great improvement is doing things I don’t like and do it happily because I know that all this things is actually will bring benefit to others. Therefore it is confirmed that only our Guru will taught us mind training and transformation. I say so is aslo because for the last 20 over years , I know I need to change as mentioned above but I can’t see much change and not making effort to change but I had a bigger change within this 5 years, that is after I met my Guru, H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche.

“Home is in the mind”, this is a very powerful statement, it tells me that our current situation is created by our mind and nothing to do with our environment and others. This also telling me if I can create sadness, I also can create happiness, if I can create bad things, I also can create good things to benefit others.

Lastly we are extremely fortunate to have our Guru and Protector to guide us therefore we shall never give up our spiritual practice.

This post filled of wisdom words & great advises!
What I learned from this post are:

How fortunate and lucky to have a precious Guru, Guru is a treasury of dharma, our relationship with Guru is sacred, we must truly treasure this rare Guru-Disciple relationship wholeheartedly. Greatest reminder, “If you develop a consistent, positive relationship with your Guru, then the positive, consistent mind will develop in your consciousness”

To expand and grow the farm of my mind, be a true spiritual farmer. The Dharma teachings that I received from my guru throughout the years, its time to repay kindness by applying and instill dharma within myself as well as spreading the dharma to others.

Comfort zone is our biggest obstacles, we should switch away from this type of comfort zone mode and do not let this obstacles ruin or slow down the productions of our mind’s farm. Be aware of not to become comfortable with being negative.

I like to contemplate on the point of “Do not be attached to being happy which is false. There is no happiness here in samsara. Do not be attached to sadness because the ultimate sadness is the three lower realms”

The relationship with Guru is sacred. Why is it sacred? Because the most sacred achievement we can have is the transformation of our mind from that of a selfish, self-centric person to that of a person who thinks of others and focuses out.

Definitely will keep protector’s words in heart that we should be harmonious with each other. Be loving with each other, be respectful of each other. Be more and more in Kechara Forest Retreat.

Further more, compassionate Protector keeps reminding us the preciousness of our Guru, we should
“Listen and focus and concentrate, and contemplate what comes out of our Guru’s mouth the most. Definitely it will be about mind transformation”

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this precious teaching and great advises from Protector. I love it and will read this again and again .

Dear Rinpoche, Thank you Rinpoche for the sharing.
Please find below the points that I have learnt from the advise of our lord protector:

    1. We should put effort in our dharma practice bestowed by our guru, applying it consistently year by year to increase our dharma knowledge and advance in our practise without being reminded over and over again by our Guru.

    2. If our mind goes up and down. Grab it to prevent it go further away. The reason for the mind to fluctuate is the broken promises we’ve made in our previous lives. Do retreat and do dharma work consistency to purify it

    3. Have good mind, constantly striving to break the comfort zones in order to be of benefit to others through our work.

    4. Do not attached to happiness or affected by sadness because they are delusions of our mind. Happy and sad arise from the same state of mind

    5. Guru teaches dharma. As we do more positive activities, it reinforces the positive mind. The positive activities come from our Guru.

    6. Keep our relationship, samaya with our Guru clean with a sincere heart, open heart and appreciation. we should appreciate Guru and always show great deference as we send message to ourself to be respectful and also send a message to another person of how fortunate they would be to receive teachings from a Guru. The key point is not they meet your Guru; the key point is that they meet the Dharma through any Guru.

    Thank you Rinpoche

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you for sharing this blog post. I found what Dorje Shugden shared in this post profound and straight to my heart.

These are the lessons that I have learnt from this post.

    1. Training and cultivating the mind is extremely important. when we learn dharma, we should put it into practice so that we can have the results of mind transformation. By just learning the dharma and not practicing it, it will be wasting our time and it will bear no fruit as it will be like planting a seed without watering it or exposing it to the sunlight.

    2. We must challenge ourselves to come out from our comfort zone everyday. We are used to stay in our comfort zone and hence repeating the same mistake over and over again. Due to our fear, we let our negativities such as laziness and fear take control of our actions and prevent us from moving forward spiritually.

    3. Do not attached to happiness and sadness because they arises from the same mind which is the deluded mind. It makes a lot of sense because samsara is all about suffering, it will not be wise for us to expect to find eternal happiness in samsara

4.The Guru is different from all of the people you had encountered in your life. He is the one that can teach us how to train our mind, how to be compassion, and etc. We should have the highest respect and love for our guru.

    5. If we practice Buddha’s teaching and have a clean and strong samaya with our Guru, Dorje Shugden will assist us in our spiritual practice and hold our hand all the way. Guru

This teaching is very deep and profound. I sincerely and humbly thank Rinpoche for sharing with us.

  103. Abby Foo on Nov 19, 2015 at 4:56 pm

This teachings by Dorje Shugden blows my mind and this is PURE DHARMA and nothing else. I don’t care what people want to say about Dorje Shugden, they just speak out of their delusion mind. Sit down and read what Dorje Shugden had said…

Thank you Dorje Shugden for being patience to explain and remind us of what our Lama have been teaching for so many years. From what the Lama and Protector have teached, I see no difference in them. We Kecharians are extremely fortunate to have the Lama and Protector to be with us and guiding us. We shall never give up our Lama and Protector regardless of what.

    Dear Rinpoche

Thank you for the precious advises in this article. The followings are 5 things that I learned from the article:
    • When your Guru gives you teaching to handle a certain situation. When you encountered similar situations in the future, you should be able to handle the situations yourself by remembering your Guru’s advice.
    • When your mind goes up and down. It is because your have broken your vows in previous lives. But because you have held your vows for a certain period of time, you can meet Dharma again. So when your mind goes up and down, catch and control it immediately
    • The spirits in KFR land have been subdued so that’s why there is no serious sickness or accidents. However, if disharmony occurred within the land, the spirits will be disturbed again
    • The KFR team should continue to build on the land and request permission from our Guru prior to building. We have request again and again to create the proper causes
    • Do not be attached to happiness because there is no real happiness in samsara. Do not be attached to sadness because the ultimate sadness is the lower realms. Everything that the guru taught us serves to lessen our delusion.

The most complex teaching of the mind is so well amplified in this advice by the Great Protector, Dorje Shugden.

Everyone has seen a garden and to illustrate our mind to a garden is simplicity with the highest wisdom for us poor ignoramus to comprehend.

The explanation of the special relationship between the Guru and Student is so clear to understand and once understood, it is my believe that Guru Devotion benefits not our Guru but ourselves.

We are truly fortunate to be in the presence of His Eminence Tsem Tulku Rinpoche who is constantly guiding us (samsaric beings) from certain doom and gloom. There are no words to express the jubilation of this fact except that by our karmic connection, we cross path again and in order to ensure our paths are crossed again and again until we overcome samsara, we have lay down our attachments and surrender to dharma…

And His Eminence has introduced the King Protector practice to us to assist in our quest…

    Thank you Rinpoche…

Great advice on helping keep land deities appeased. Kechara is truly fortunate. I hope H.E Tsem Rinpoche continues to turn the dharma wheel and I hope Kechara continues to grow with few or no obstacles. May you all be blessed.

Venerable Ajahn Chah was a Thai Buddhist teacher of the Buddhadhamma and a founder of two major monasteries in the Thai Forest Tradition. Well respected and loved as a man of great wisdom, he was also instrumental in establishing Theravada Buddhism in the West. Interesting life story, how he chose to leave the settled monastic life and became a wandering ascetic. Walking across Thailand, lived in forests, caves and cremation grounds while learning from the meditation monks of the Forest of various monasteries. He wandered through the countryside in quest of quiet and secluded places for developing meditation. He even lived in tiger and cobra infested jungles, using reflections on death to penetrate to the true meaning of life. After years of wandering, Venerable Ajahn Chah established a monastery where he taught simple, practice-based form of meditation, and attracted a numerous of students including western foreigners. He was one of the greatest Dhamma teachers of the modern era. His wise teachings have continued to guide thousands of people along the path of Dharma. Venerable Ajahn Chah’s teachings of the Thai Forest Tradition gradually spread across all over the world. Several of Ajahn Chah’s Western students have since established monasteries throughout the world. Just in Thailand itself, there are more than 300 branch monasteries in Ajahn Chah’s tradition. Ven erable Ajahn Chah used his ill health as a teaching point, emphasizing that it was a living example of the impermanence of all things and reminded people to endeavour to find a true refuge within themselves. The legacy of Venerable Ajahn Chah’s teachings and legacy continues into the modern age.

Wonderful blog written on the practice of Kalarupa for us to understand better. As an emanation of Manjushri, Kalarupa’s practice helps us to destroy ignorance and to develop wisdom overcoming our anger and suffering . Awesome Kalarupa manifested in multiple forms to help sentient beings who personifies enlightenment by the conquest of anger. Kalarupa also regard as one of the three main Dharma protectors of the Gelugpa is extremely fierce and ugly, and tames all kinds of spiritual ugliness. The fierceness of his iconography teaches us to remind ourselves that all the causes and effects of anger arising from ignorance are dreadful and distorted.

Nepal is a very spiritual country, having a huge Dorje Shugden mural in Kathmandu, is indeed a big achievement for Kechara. Located on Charkhal Road in Dilli Bazaar, the mural can be found midway between our two Dorje Shugden chapels which are in Putalisadak and Chabahil. It is also very close to one of Kathmandu’s largest shopping malls. Many locals , tourist will be able to connect them to a powerful deity that is so closely associated with their culture. Well the mural not only beautiful but also full of symbolism and everyone merely by seeing it is blessed. Thanks to those talented artists and generous sponsors making it a success.

All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on. Letting go helps us to live in a more peaceful state of mind and helps restore our balance. A reminder for us all to go of attachment and meditating on impermanence and emptiness. We are to relinquish the domination of our ego and its habits to transform ourselves. A great reminder not to waste our previous life.

We are members of the Buddhist Temple in Taman Desa Jaya, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur and we have been issued membership by the president (DATUK YIP KUM FOOK), we are very sad because we are the foundation of this Temple

Now we can know who is always messing with people, and he always cheats money and women, he even uses Buddhism to find money.

Also, need to be careful with his brother-in-law (Simon Low Kok Meng) because he is a spy (CID) for DATUK YIP KUM FOOK and we will write some letters to AGONG SULTAN IBRAHIM IBN ALMARHUM SULTAN ISKANDAR as soon as possible.

The matriarchal cultures of the grandmothers have specific symbolism of animism shamanism, such as the horse, especially the blue horse, and the deer. These are two main symbols of a shaman woman and you can find them in many cultural folk lore, especially the Russian, Slavic, Siberian, Nordic, Finland, and Norway. It’s nice to see the Matriarchal Shaman Animism diety represented in Chinese.

Demons are disembodied spirits, supernatural being or spirit and unseen beings. We know they do exist and I believe they do. They have no physical form to them whatsoever. Demons do definitely exist. They are intelligent beings who are evil malicious spirits and are all dangerous entities. Valak is not to be summoned capriciously by anyone as they are dangerous beings when we invoke them having to face a heavy consequence. There are spiritual practices that we can ask for help a ritual of the wrathful Manjushri in the form of Trakze. Having a doing the practice daily without fail, consistently, as this Trakze practice has been proven to be efficacious to break the hold the Valak and other spirits. All thanks to our Guru bringing this practice to Kechara Forest Retreat, Bentong Malaysia.

May H E Tsem Rinpoche’s sincere advice to reach the far shore of liberation to everyone reading this blog. The most truly generous people are those who give silently without asking any in return. There is no exercise better than reaching and lifting people up. A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal. Well creating and lighting for others we naturally light our own way. Lama Tsongkhapa was an influential Tibetan Buddhist monk, philosopher and tantric yogi, whose activities led to the formation of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism . Lama Tsongkhapa was hailed as the second Buddha by contemporary Buddhist masters of his time. Famous for reviving Buddhism in Tibet and revered for elevating the Dharma to all its present glory. Hence having a 12 ft Lama Tsongkhapa Statue at new Kechara Gompa (Prayer Hall) is indeed a blessing. Its truly beautiful. Merely by looking at it is a blessing .

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

One the day of Losar (new lunar year), it is always beneficial for Buddhist practitioners to get together in making abundant offerings to Buddhas on the altar to usher in goodness, prosperity and well-being of our loved ones. It's more auspicious this year as Losar and the Chinese New Year begin on the same date, 10th Feb, 2024. Back in Penang, our Kechara members came together to decorate the altar with abundance offerings for Dorje Shugden puja @3pm. Kechara Penang Study Group by Jacinta.

Umze for the day was Siew Hong. She's just been with us for slightly more than a year now but she's proven her capability in leading the puja. Our Penang group members are so proud of her and her commitment in attending the weekly puja. Despite being eloquence and smart, she has beautiful chant as well. When she leads, make sure you are there to hear her chant for yourself! Kechara Penang Study Group by Jacinta.

Dharma sharing by Hue before we proceeded with DS puja & Rinpoche Swift Return puja. Hue is one of the long time Kechara Penang members and he comes to puja regularly. He shared that he truly believes that Dorje Shugden and Rinpoche always there guiding him. He shared how sometimes DS will give him hints to avert troubles ahead or to alert him when he 'misbehaved'. Hope many will come to know more about this powerful Dharma Protector, Dorje Shugden aka DS. Having Dorje Shugden is like having a powerful ally that will protect us day and night. Just trust Him and have faith. Kechara Penang Study Group, 25/11/2023 by Jacinta.
