General Characteristics of a Sheep

The Sheep is the most feminine of all the signs associated with affection, care, trust and selflessness.  Sheep are gentle mannered and sincere. They also have a compassionate nature, are sentimental, sensitive, understanding of others’ faults and quick to forgive. They are naturally self indulgent and love a life of luxury and ease.

Creative and artistic in nature, they have a unique sense of originality. They are easy going, relaxed and enjoy a pressure free environment. The Sheep is usually a follower and prefers to be given direction and guidance. Usually quite insecure and worrisome, he prefers to work with the support and encouragement of a team.

Being direct and open about his feelings is not one of the Sheep’s traits.  Sheep are likely to beat around the bush and will avoid speaking their minds. You’ll be put to task trying to deduce what’s really going on inside his head. However, if they are shown love, care and understanding, they will eventually feel more comfortable to open up to you.

Strengths

The Sheep’s greatest strength is his altruistic mind and compassionate heart. Sheep will always make themselves available to help others and like to be involved in social work for the benefit of the underprivileged.

Empathetic, intuitive and sensitive in nature, they tend to be able to sense the needs of others and help them according to their needs. Due to their gentle nature, they create harmony wherever they go. Their charismatic and engaging personalities win people over easily.

They are also highly creative and artistic, excelling in any activity that gives them the freedom to express their creativity.

Weaknesses

Ironically, the overly soft nature of the Sheep is what will give him the most grief. Sheep are diplomatic to a fault, always avoiding confrontation or being inoffensive to a point that when assertiveness is called for, they will often fail to deliver.

They tend to avoid making decisions making them unsuitable for positions of responsibility. They skirt around controversial, difficult issues, becoming either withdrawn or whiney. They are hesitant, pessimistic, insecure, shy, easily influenced and offended – in general, they lack the confidence or firmness to be able to draw support and will irritate people with their wishy-washiness.

Due to their obliging nature, they are vulnerable to being taken advantage of. A Sheep needs to be led, guided and protected by a strong and scrupulous leader who knows how to bring out his talents; he needs a lot of coddling.

Career and Working Life

Sheep have an inclination for social work and careers in the arts – music, design, visual or performing arts. They are not suited to desk jobs but thrive on work that allows them to exercise and express their creativity.

They dislike strict routine and discipline; having structure and order to their work will help them find that much needed security and give them confidence. They won’t enjoy surprises and will often doubt their own capability for doing something beyond their comfort zone. How motivated Sheep are will depend on how that particular job helps them to fulfill their responsibility, such as providing for their family.

Love and Relationships

Where matters of the heart are concerned, the Sheep’s heart will always rule his head. Overly sensitive and emotional, Sheep can be highly emotional and very clingy, needing constant reassurance and someone to bleat their insecurities to. However, with their lovable nature, they can make great romantic partners and will do all they can to make their partners happy. They are naturally quite giving and kind, so their partners will never be in want of love. Generally, Sheep do not like to be alone. They are very family-oriented and will give themselves entirely to the right person and do everything they can to maintain a stable, loving, happy relationships.

Because the Sheep is quite a private person, it will be hard to get to him to open up to you. He likes his own company and is often a worrier who likes to wallow in his anxieties on his own. Unless he learns to express himself and confide in others, his partner may often feel neglected and at a loss of how to help him.

Sheep need partners who are supportive, attentive, assuring and will help them develop their self-confidence. As the Sheep can be hypersensitive and prone to anxiety over the smaller, insignificant matters, they will need constant support and open reassurance from their lovers. Sometimes, they may just need someone with a very contrasting personality, who is firm, confident and outspoken to boost his own timidness.

Finance

Although not materialistic by nature, the Sheep will usually have no problem with money.  They are blessed with the unusual luck of benefitting wills and inheritance, and are bestowed gifts from friends and admirers. They attract this naturally by their own gentle and giving nature, making people want to indulge and please them in return.

Even during tough times, they always have enough for their basic needs. Somehow what they need will always fall on their laps.

However, Sheep have the tendency to be overindulgent and do not make provisions for the future. He may be penny-wise, pound-foolish – his attempt to save and be thrifty on small things will be thwarted by a single large and indulgent buy, like an expensive car. The Sheep can be extremely extravagant, especially when someone else is paying for their bills.

Social Life

Although the Sheep is generally a very private person and a homebody who prefers the company of his close loved ones, he does have a good sense of humour and can be great company. They can be the most gracious hosts and entertainers at parties if they are among friends and people they know.

As the Sheep is often introverted and withdrawn, he can appear to be very reserved and standoffish to people they don’t know. It is not that he means to be snobbish; often, it’s only because he’s just very shy and feels insecure when among people he’s not familiar with. However, once he does up warm up to you, he will find it natural and easy to be friendly and make his friends happy.

Life Lessons

It would help the Sheep very much if he could learn to be more practical and less emotional. Sheep should generally make it a point to be less self indulgent – particularly in worrying about the smallest, mundane things – and more serious in taking responsibility. They could make better use of their time planning for the future instead of constantly holding pity parties for themselves and contemplating obscure questions about life.

The Sheep could do with taking steps to build their own confidence – they could take public speaking courses or find a hobby that develops their independence. They need to push themselves to make firm decisions too, instead of always relying on others to support and guide them. This in turn will help to bolster his confidence as he begins to makes successful decisions and starts to stand on his own two feet.

COMPATIBILITY

Who the Sheep will form a herd with

The Sheep, Rabbit and Pig form one of the four trios of the Chinese zodiac. As such, Sheep will do very well to work with or find partners in the Rabbit and Pig. The Rabbit is one of the best partners for the Sheep as they both share the common trait of gentleness and soft-spokenness. They are both romantic and sentimental, so would be able to share a lot of tenderness and benefit from the mutual kindness of each sign.

The Pig and Sheep are also great combinations. Both are sensitive and sociable, seek harmony and a peaceful life. They get along very well and have mutual understanding. They usually sort out the problems in a calm and reasonable way, work very well together and rely on each other for support.

Sheep are are attracted to the strength and optimism of Horses and Tigers, who have the drive, strength and confidence to guide the Sheep and uplift his grumbling spirits. They also get along with people born under the signs of Monkey, Dragon, Rooster, Snake – all strong signs that will help to boost his confidence and push him along.

Who the Sheep will lock horns with

The Sheep will encounter the greatest conflict with Oxens, whose strict and stubborn ways will only serve to accentuate his insecurities and jar against his delicate, sensitive disposition. The Ox, always pragmatic and direct, won’t stand for the Sheep’s constant self-pitying ways, self-indulgence and need for attention. The practical Ox is unlikely to concede to the Sheep’s impractical demands.

The Sheep’s clingy, dependent tendencies will get on the nerves of the independent, quick-witted, street-wise Rat who doesn’t have time nor patience for being emotional. The very practical, grounded Dog will also not put up with the whims and fancies of the Sheep, finding this attitude frivolous, unproductive and unreliable.

How to work well with a Sheep

To work well with the Sheep, you will need to constantly give encouragement, support and assurance. Never leave him alone to deal with matters because he will only spend that time floundering and worrying about what to do. Indecisive and pessimistic by nature, the Sheep will appreciate guidance where decisions, major or minor are called for. He will do much better if you give him very clear instructions and allow him to follow directions to execute.

Always speak to the Sheep gently and be extra sensitive of his feelings and how he may interpret what you are saying. You will never get anywhere with the sheep if you are too assertive, direct or brusque. The Sheep needs to be won over by persuasion and reassuring them that they are capable and matter to you. Dry facts, figures and logic won’t appeal to them nor have any effect in getting through to them. They live their lives through their hearts more than their heads.

I agree that sheep seek deep emotional connections, but they’re fire signs. They’re direct, boisterous and believe only a select few know what truth is. They seem to be the most cooperative of the fire signs, but I wouldn’t call them feminine. They will rally anyone within earshot to take up arms against perceived threats whether real or imagined. They’re not always right and not usually practical, but their energy and unwavering belief in others can be seen as both incredibly naive and incredibly endearing. More cautious signs may hold a deep distrust of their almost religious devotion to whatever they seem to believe at the moment, but I’ve never met an introverted fire sign, sheep included.

    Whale Saves Woman from Shark!

I was thrilled to watch the video. The most incredible part is that the whale did not hurt Ms Nan Hauser in any way. It just kept gently pushing her further and further away from danger for over ten minutes. She was scared at first because she didn’t know what was going on. It was only later that she realised there was a shark swimming nearby.

    Bodhgaya & Vajrayogini

I went there to do retreat. I went and I stayed in a hotel called Burmese Hotel. And it was very cheap, 50 rupees a day. That time it was expensive for me. Every day I would take a rickshaw and it would take me about 10 minutes to get to the stupa because the farther you are the cheaper the hotel is. And it is a nice hotel. I have no complaints. And I had a beautiful room. And I did my practices. And every single day I would pack up my sadhana, pack up my mandala set, pack up my thick cushions and everything and I would go to the tree. And I circumambulate around the tree maybe 100 times per day and then I would sit down under a shady area of the compound and do hours and hours of my sadhanas and prayers which I really love.

Trode Khangsar – A 400 year old Dorje Shugden Chapel in Lhasa | 拉萨400年历史的多杰雄登护法殿—布旦康萨

As an apology to Dorje Shugden for the murder and the subsequent attempts to destroy him (having mistaken him for a spirit), His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama then composed a praise to Dorje Shugden and created a statue with his own hands to honour and recognize him as a Dharma protector. The 5th Dalai Lama also built this chapel in the heart of Lhasa at the exact same place where Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s body had been cremated. This was told to us by the current caretakers of Trode Khangsar, which continues to function to this day as an active chapel propitiating Dorje Shugden.

A Medellin undertaker has taken his craft to the next level by launching a “ghostly census” in Colombia’s second-largest city, where his workers have so far compiled 215 spirits, 23 in pictures and videos.

    Colombia undertaker launches ghostly census

“It’s beyond question that many of the city’s buildings and homes have ghosts. For years, we’ve heard stories about them and we thought the time had come to approach, catalog and classify them through a census,” William Betancur told AFP.

The enterprising Betancur Funeral Home owner said he began the list a few weeks ago, sending “a team of four funeral parlour workers — properly attired in uniforms — to buildings” around Medellin, 245 kilometers (152 miles) northwest of the capital Bogota.

“They’ve reported back with 215 ghosts…. Our video and still cameras have captured 23,” he said with pride.

Anybody can report an otherworldly apparition, he said. “They just have to phone or email us (censofantasmas@hotmail.com) and depending on their physical manifestation — noises, sparkling light shows or images — that’s how they’ll be classified.”

And the ghost business seems to be catching on.

Betancur said he gets calls every day from people and companies “from Colombia and abroad” with offers on how to measure the “relationship between the ghost and the place he inhabits” and of state-of-the-art detection equipment.

The undertaker has a sound business model behind his haunted venture.

“Our plan is to take a year for the census…. Later we’re thinking of writing a book and, why not, doing a movie or documentary series.”

Betancur said he came on the idea of a “ghostly census” after clearly sensing his pet dog still going about his daily rounds at the funeral home — four months after he died.

Although the Central Tibetan Administration (or CTA) claims there is no ban against the worship of Dorje Shugden, it has not stopped them from releasing books, videos and other publications over the last 20 years to campaign against the worship of Dorje Shugden. Peddling their own form of propaganda, they have exploited many members of the Tibetan community and leadership, in an attempt to warn people against Dorje Shugden practice. Is it logical for anyone to direct all of this effort, creativity and resources into something they claim is a non-issue because there’s no ban and there is religious freedom? It doesn’t sound very logical.

Released on November 14, 2016, the ‘documentary’ features the members of the Tibetan leadership speaking against the practice of Dorje Shugden. They draw unproven links between Dorje Shugden practitioners and the Chinese leadership. Thus, the video paints Shugden worshippers as traitors to the Tibetan people who are deserving of whatever misfortune, discrimination and suppression is directed against them.

As Malaysian citizens who have freedom of religion, they thought it was highly inappropriate for the Tibetan leaders who profess to be democratic, to appear in videos talking against the religion of their people. And why is an exiled government with some huge political goals to accomplish, so concerned about a religious denomination, practice or sect? And dedicating time, money and resources towards this? They, as a so-called exiled government, should never interfere in anyone’s religion or speak against it. No democratic government ever interferes in people’s personal choices.

Witches have nothing to do with worshipping something negative, it is more stemming from the old religions that they are in tune with nature and the natural entities that abide there. They being in tune with nature gives them so called powers to heal, or foretell the future.

The label/ term ‘witch’ comes from the English word “wicca” which means to change, to transform, to modify… people imagine them on broomsticks, with cauldrons and nasty zits on their faces, but they will find it surprising when they realize that there could be a witch amongst them. They are the modern witches!

There is quite a lot of misconception regarding witches, this video is quite unbiased and helps to explain them, their lifestyle and beliefs in an unbiased way.

Check out the videos that on witches here http://bit.ly/2D3zsIa. They are very and very informative, interesting and you would enjoy watching.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the old article yet interesting which I came across. Wow…..it is indeed a lovely gift from Pastor David. A gift of the Bionic Woman figurine and Fembot figurine, which brings back memories to many of us. The Bionic Woman is an American science fiction action-adventure television series. It reminds me of my childhood when I used to watch Bionic Woman, a former tennis pro who gains superhuman abilities through bionic implants and prosthetics. Great stories of her using her bionic powers to help and save people. I remembered I do always looked forward to the show.
A good memories of Bionic Woman that could inspire us to be a better person

Francesca Stavrakopoulou is a British biblical scholar and broadcaster. Wow…she is a leading expert in religion’s interpretations of the past. While teaching and researching , she mainly focusing on ancient Israelite and Judahite religions, and portrayals of the religious past. Which include in biblical traditions and religious practices most at odds with Western cultural preferences. Fantastic talented lady… looking at the Bible as ancient literature, not as a holy scripture.
She research interests include social and religious responses to the dead. She did research great documentary videos with true facts. Truly an eye opening documentary which was well presented, logical and objective. Her discoveries were that the ancestors of Judaism and Christianity believed in many gods and even that the God had a wife. There is no belief in a personal god. History and belief of ancient religion been changed for the benefit of people. This documentary reveal the truth the very truth where not many people got it right.
As a Buddhist, I do believe that there are many gods and nothing is permanent and that change is always possible.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Tsem Rinpoche has supported many projects for monastery. Helping to raise funds for the Gaden Shartse hospital . The Gaden Shartse hospital is a project conceived two and a half years ago by the current Abbot, H.E. Khen Rinpoche. But due to lack of funds to furnish, purchase supplies and medicines it was not in operation. Renowned for his charitable works such as building schools, hospitals and providing assistance and food to the poor and underprivileged, Tsem Rinpoche and his students raised hundred thousand for the hospital to become fully operational.
Thank you Pastor Seng Piow for this wonderful sharing.

On December 25, 2016, Kechara had the great merits and privilege to offer an official place of residence to the oracle of Dorje Shugden, His Eminence the 7th Panglung Kuten Thubten Phelgye Jigme Namgyal, affectionately known as Choje-la.

This residence is called Panglung Ritroe in commemoration of the original Panglung Ritroe in Lhasa, Tibet which was home to the Panglung Rinpoches and the lineage of the Panglung oracles. Panglung Ritroe was known to be a very sacred and holy place as the Panglung oracles took trance of numerous Dharma Protectors, such as Dorje Shugden, Setrap and Kache Marpo there.

With Dorje Shugden’s blessings, H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche decided to create a permanent home here in Kechara Forest Retreat for Choje-la, who has devoted his life to benefiting others without thinking of himself. Rinpoche wanted to offer Choje-la his own place where he has complete privacy and independence, where he can live comfortably with his assistants, where he can host friends and guests, where he can come and go as he likes, and most importantly a place where he can live out the rest of his life if he wants to.

Caves have an innately mysterious aura. Most are only found some distance away from civilisation, and their yawning mouths seem to call out to visitors… or warn them to stay away. You can tell from the name Kek Lok Tong (Cave of Ultimate Bliss) that this cave is one of the former.

The Cave of Ultimate Bliss. How could you not want to visit a place with a name as beautiful as this?

The Cave of Ultimate Bliss is located in Ipoh, the capital of the north-western Malaysian state of Perak. At the turn of the 19th Century, a flourishing tin mining industry triggered Ipoh’s transformation from a sleepy village into a boomtown. In the decades that followed, a wealth of opportunities presented themselves, attracting waves of migrant workers from China and other countries.

A beautiful Kuan Yin statue outside of the temple. She wasn’t there the last time I visited. There is a koi pond surrounding her, which is very well-maintained. There was some moss growing inside but it looked natural and the water was clean and clear. The fishes are very large and look healthy.

The earliest records of Kek Lok Tong as a religious site date back to the 1920s. This period coincides with the second tin rush that brought thousands of workers to Malaya, as the peninsula was then known.

Making the origin of Dorje Shugden into a comic book is a great way to educate people about Dorje Shugden. It is easy to read for children and also for adults who are busy. When we know the origin of Dorje Shugden, it will strengthen our faith in him. He is an emanation of Buddha Manjushri whom we can rely on without any worries.

Rinpoche always wanted to benefit as many people as possible. Therefore, the comic is made into so many languages. May more people be connected with Dorje Shugden and be protected and blessed.

What we can learn from this post is humility: even though she was already “up there”, Bionic Woman continue to challenge herself and grow and develop with each challenge she faces. What I like about her the most is that nothing seem to be impossible and she is always very graceful in everything she does
Thank you for sharing with us your good article and how even a series like Bionic Woman can inspire us to be better humans.

I must thank my dharma blog team who are great assets to me, Kechara and growth of dharma in this wonderful region. I am honoured and thrilled to work with them. I really am. Maybe I don't say it enough to them, but I am saying it now. I APPRECIATE THESE GUYS VERY MUCH!

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

    2 yearss ago
What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
