Relationship Compatibility for the Dragon

Jun 16, 2010 | Views: 152,028

Which Lunar Animal sign best suits the Dragon, when it comes to relationships?

Relationship compatibility within the Chinese Zodiac mostly takes into account the general characteristics for each animal. However, every individual will place their own unique twist on the basic characteristics. That being said, it’s always fun to read about how well (or not well) you match with your partner!

Read on to learn the compatibility of the Dragon with other Animal Lunar Signs.

.

DRAGON PARTNER + RAT PARTNER: 95%

This combination will bring about a fulfilling relationship as the optimistic couple are brave and determined enough to work out a future together. This couple will find it easy to trust each other as both are very capable and have tremendous amounts of self-confidence.

The Dragon will be very attracted and grateful for the Rat’s loyalty, positive attitude and continuous support for the Dragon. The Dragon is very kind and giving while the Rat can be thrifty and resourceful, making this couple well prepared at times of need. The Rat is very active and lively but will always allow the Dragon to take on the dominant role. This union is a very fruitful and lasting one as long as each partner is willing to compromise and not seek absolute equality from each other.

In order to make this relationship stronger, the Dragon should be careful not be too domineering and both should allow each other enough freedom. The Dragon should appreciate the cautious advice of the Rat though because the Dragon’s magnetic personality and power will attract all and sundry and the Dragon may tend to jump into situations without thinking it through. The Rat’s ability to spot danger at ten paces will be an asset to the Dragon if the Dragon listens to the Rat. Always realise that each is looking after your best interests at heart and work from that basis for a successful relationship.

.

DRAGON PARTNER + OX PARTNER: 48%

The Dragon is dynamic and adventurous while the Ox is apathetic and systematic. The Ox enjoys time alone while the Dragon wants to be surrounded by friends. This couple will have to love and respect each other to make it work as both possess equally strong characters and it’s not easy to come to a compromise.

Both the Dragon and the Ox can be respectful of each other but both are also stubborn, which is the determining factor if the relationship is to last or fall apart. The Dragon is very ambitious and works for recognition, a very attractive characteristic that the materialistic Ox admires and which encourages the Ox to push forward for success especially materially.

The Dragon can be very unsympathetic if their common goals do not produce results. While the Dragon is very sociable, and constantly needs love and admiration, the Ox can be very conservative, emotionless and distant. For the relationship to work the two would need to compromise; and if both strive for success and succeed, they would be truly proud and dedicated to each other.

.

DRAGON PARTNER + TIGER PARTNER: 76%

This is definitely a couple who are well-known for being courageous and ambitious. However, both might want to dominate the other. The good news is the Dragon will compromise if the other does the same. The perseverance to work out the relationship might fade after the initial period.  There has to be a lot of give and take to make this relationship work. However, their characteristic and nature makes this combination to have more potential for a long lasting friendship, love and marriage.

The union of a Dragon and Tiger will not be a dull and regular one, as both partners are active and open-minded. They would find each other’s company to be very exciting as long as their individual freedom is preserved. The Tiger has high respect for the Dragon but will never give in, and should the Dragon try, trouble will arise. Both have explosive tempers and do not like being dominated by the other partner. If they can respect each others need for personal freedom and can maintain a balance, they will have an adventurous marriage. Keeping a separate group of friends and remembering to spend time apart will help. The matchmaking of this pair is recommended, both in business and romance.

In a Dragon husband and Tiger wife relationship, the initial attraction takes place instantly. Due to their rash behavior, they tend to find conflict in the relationship, a type of disagreement which may fuel their relationship since both love sparring with a good opponent.

In a Dragon wife and Tiger husband relationship, they will find perfect harmony.

.

DRAGON PARTNER +RABBIT PARTNER: 85%

The marriage between a Rabbit and Dragon is a realistic and positive combination. Although the Rabbit may like a cozy evening at home, and the Dragon on the other hand wants to go out, they both appreciate a supportive relationship, which they can achieve with some effort. While both have different personalities, one partner’s positive values complement the other partner’s short-comings and on top of that, they guide and support each other to better themselves in many ways. The Dragon allows the Rabbit to take on the dominant role with the knowledge that the Rabbit would always return for advice in most matters. The Dragon is capable and kind, and the Rabbit is determined enough for the both of them. Together, they form a relationship that contains everything that is needed for shared success.

This is a good marriage because their personalities complement each other, offering each other support, comfort, companionship and security. The Rabbit will arrange a comfortable home for the Dragon to return to, while the Dragon will comfort and protect when the Rabbit is feeling down. This union will be a good one if they strive for their similarities and not let petty concerns interfere. They need to understand each other and address any doubts before it becomes a problem. If they focus on their dreams and hopes, they will make it.

In a Rabbit husband and Dragon wife relationship, it is not an advisable relationship. While she may be attracted to him at first, soon their differences will be too apparent. He will eventually find it difficult to overlook her flaws and feel pressured to meet her needs for admiration.

In a Rabbit wife and Dragon husband relationship, her fragility is very attractive to him while his generosity and personality attracts her to him. Her ability to charm him will help smooth any frustrations he may have.

.

DRAGON PARTNER + DRAGON PARTNER: 34%

Two Dragons together is not a very peaceful arrangement.  The advantage of this combination is that their similarities allow them to be perfect partners, friends, and companions. They are both individualistic, strong willed and aggressive which makes this relationship difficult if these two do not agree on their goals in the earlier stage.

Neither wants the other partner to overshadow them. Therefore, compromise is needed for the relationship to work.  It is advisable for both partners to continue their careers and have their own hobbies to avoid withholding the other. Otherwise, conflict is likely to arise.  However, this does not mean either or both can shirk their responsibility at home. Occasional arguments will occur but they will make up quickly.

.

DRAGON PARTNER + SNAKE PARTNER: 63%

With both signs having a strong personality, a supportive and fulfilling relationship can only be achieved if this perfect combination can adjust to each other’s diverse personalities. Together, they create an ambitious, active relationship that strives for and accomplishes their common goals. The Snake can be impulsive and domineering while the Dragon is calm and patient. The Snake is always looking forward to work and success.  The Dragon, having more business intelligence can impart some diligence and common sense on the Snake. They can both build a good life together with each others support.

The Dragon may have some conflicts with the Snake when wanting to put across certain views.  The Snake likes things a certain way while the Dragon wants to make the Snake to see things in a different light.  However, the Dragon secretly wants someone wiser and more dominating. The Snake provides security in the union and admires the enthusiasm of the Dragon. With great determination, the couple can improve tremendously through this mutually helpful and useful partnership.

.

DRAGON PARTNER + HORSE PARTNER: 57%

The Dragon and the Horse have many similarities. They are both fun loving, adventurous and very social.  The Dragon likes the Horse’s caring nature and strength while the Horse admires the Dragon’s passion and enthusiasm. The Horse is thrifty with money while the Dragon is resourceful in bringing in money, a trait the Horse admires and appreciates.

This couple will both lead a busy, wandering life as neither is domestic enough to stay at home. Life will be delightful if they both get to keep a job as well as manage their home. The relationship strengthens when both are provided with variety and freedom.  The Dragon is always enthusiastic about taking on new exciting projects. Both the Horse and the Dragon fuel each other’s enterprising spirit. The Horse is rational when evaluating the risk they are taking.  The Dragon’s powerful persuasion can deal with the Horse’s inconsistencies.  They can have a great partnership if they can reach a common understanding.

.

DRAGON PARTNER + SHEEP PARTNER: 74%

For this relationship to be harmonious, much effort and patience must be applied. The Sheep’s sensitivity is often overlooked. The Sheep finds it difficult to express the need for the Dragon’s empathy. The Sheep loves family life but the Dragon may not be too concerned about domestic affairs. The Dragon is adventurous, aggressive and dominant but the Sheep is docile, emotional and moody. Ultimately, the relationship is dominated by the Dragon, as it is the Dragon’s nature to control those who are close to him.

The Sheep is fascinated with the Dragon’s brilliance and superiority while the Dragon is attracted to the Sheep’s kindness, loyalty and honesty.  However, the Sheep may be too timid to follow the Dragon’s ambitious ways. The Dragon may find the Sheep unsuitable due to the Sheep’s lack of ambition. The Dragon will be able to give the Sheep much encouragement but the Dragon’s patience has its limits. Much effort is needed to smooth the edges in this union.  Therefore, it can be a moderately workable arrangement.

.

DRAGON PARTNER + MONKEY PARTNER: 82%

The Dragon is drawn to the Monkey’s charisma and the Monkey admires the Dragon’s leadership. They are both ambitious and career minded, making them a wonderful couple. Together, they will explore and lead a very exciting life. This is an ideal match, both romantically and mentally.

Both are more than willing to work hand in hand for a lasting and successful relationship. Both are positive, aggressive, and ambitious and at the same time very observant. The Monkey is skilful and intelligent, while the Dragon is energetic and has great willpower. Both will make full use of their attributes to complement each other. The Monkey’s love for challenges has the support of the Dragon throughout. This amazing pair will pamper one another, work harmoniously and have great understanding with each other.

.

DRAGON PARTNER + ROOSTER PARTNER: 72%

This relationship can achieve great closeness but not without any challenges.  The Rooster who is a perfectionist is prone to be insensitive with remarks but the Dragon has the ability to stay focused and not be affected by it.  However, the Rooster must be aware that the Dragon does have its limits. With the Dragon’s initiative and Rooster’s eye for detail and conservatism they make an excellent team.

Both of them will be happier if there is a mutual agreement on which areas each should take control. They are both equally intellectual, but it would be good if they both try not to overshadow one another.

As long as they can ignore the other’s annoying traits, and keep matters fair at all costs, these two can make a perfect match.

.

DRAGON PARTNER + DOG PARTNER: 55%

This relationship will be a collection of arguments due to the huge gap in their basic temperaments. They are both aggressive and forceful but in very different ways. The Dragon loves freedom but the Dog demands loyalty and cooperation. They are both proud and willful, and neither will give in to one another. Although both may be trying to attain the attributes of the other, they both do not know how to approach the matter. Many adjustments need to be done for this marriage to work.

Love and hate will characterize this relationship, which sees the Dog and Dragon on opposing ends. Both demonstrate their leadership qualities in entirely different ways. The diplomatic Dog will try to bring people together, while the colourful Dragon will employ overpowering techniques which the Dog will not understand and may come to resent. Using these same overpowering techniques on the Dog may hurt the Dog and once hurt, the Dog is likely to be defensive or retaliate. Since there is no compromise between the two, relationships of this nature will be difficult to sustain.

.

DRAGON PARTNER + PIG PARTNER: 87%

This is a relationship that can either succeed or fail, depending on either partner’s response. Both signs are assertive, active and energetic but in different ways.  The Dragon’s force may upset the Pig.  However, the Pig who is keen to please, will put unrelenting efforts to bring success to the relationship.

The Pig will always be supportive and encouraging to the Dragon’s ambition. The Dragon is often impulsive but the Pig will patiently endure all the Dragon’s shortcomings. The Pig will be the peacemaker when a heated argument crops up. The Pig and the Dragon will have no problem in cooperating on the same goals. As long as the Dragon makes Pig feels needed, the Pig will always be devoted to the Dragon and be the Dragon’s support whenever the Dragon falls. The Pig and the Dragon will have a successful, intensely romantic and stable union.

      Dear Cookie,

Welcome to tsemrinpoche.com. As stated in the DRAGON PARTNER + DOG PARTNER compatibility above, “They are both proud and willful, and neither will give in to one another. Many adjustments need to be done for this marriage to work.” However, the good thing is that you both love each other, so compromise and adjustments can be made.

Compatibility is important, but what will really make a relationship work is the effort, and how far each partner will go to support and encourage the growth of the other through the ups and downs in life.

I’d like to share with you this teaching/ advice from H.E. Tsem Rinpoche, “Ingredients for a successful relationship”, which I think will be beneficial for you and your partner: https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/students-friends/ingredients-for-a-successful-relationship.html

Hope to hear from you again.

    • Pastor Niral Patel on Aug 19, 2016 at 12:19 am

      Dear Cookie,

I would like to add to what Pastor Shin has already shared with you. In addition to the important advice given by His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche in his teaching entitled ‘Ingredients for a Successful Relationship’, you can also engage in the practice of Mother Tara.

From a spiritual standpoint, the tendency to act or behave in a certain way is due to karma created in previous lives. Therefore within Buddhism there are many practices which seek to purify one’s karma so we are no longer affected by this negativity.

Among these practices, one of the more powerful, especially in terms of creating harmony within relationships and familial settings is the practice of Mother Tara. This practice is very beneficial in calling upon swift energies that quickly fulfil our wishes within our lives, particularly in terms of relationships with others. This leads to a successful and harmonious life.

If you would like to begin the practice, you can find a nice post on the Praise to the 21 Taras here: https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/homage-to-the-supreme-mother-tara.html. This is a very powerful prayer that invokes upon the energies of Mother Tara into our life.

You can also sponsor a Puja, or prayers, following this link: http://www.vajrasecrets.com/tara-puja-fund-for-swift-assistance. The prayers to Tara, which are performed on behalf of sponsors is known to have very quick and effective results, allowing people the relief they need and seek in life. I hope this helps.

      Thank you.

Please give me your explain about it? Is it true or false?

    Thank you.

  7. Ankhaa on Aug 4, 2014 at 7:17 pm

Hello! I know that Tibetian and Mongolian astrology are nearly same. But in Mongolian astrology said that dragon and snake couple can not be, because their genital compatibility is morbid and has side effects that results dragon & snake couple’s intimate life will be ended soon, may cause kidney, bladder disease, their children may born early or sick, further may be unhealthy, or healthy born child may die suddenly at teen/adult ages and dragon and snake couple’s blood type is incompatible. Is it true?

Second one is there is said Dragon and Tiger or Rabbit couple can’t be, if they are intimated Dragon eye may hurt or wounded, and Dragon will paralyzed (by wooden apoplectic/May sickness ).

Can you please explain these? Are these true or false? And give advice please.

    Thank you
    Hope your soonest reply.

Heart breaking after watching the video. Its really sad watching those animals including bludgeoning, neck-breaking while many are skinned alive. The way they were killed just for their fur is horrible inhumane practices. In fact those animals are confined to relatively small wire cages with little enrichment. Millions of fur-bearing animals are killed every year by trappers worldwide. For many of us, wearing fur is simply cruel, and to be avoided at all costs. China is the largest importer of fur pelts in the world and the largest exporter of finished fur products. Glad that campaign groups such as PETA have long highlighted the cruelty of such farms. Fur farming is now banned in a number of countries such as Austria, Croatia, the United Kingdom and so forth. Not only causing the suffering and deaths of millions of animals each year, the production of wool, fur, and leather contributes to climate change, land devastation, pollution, and even water contamination. Hopefully the fur industry can work together with farms with better regulations.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing to bring awareness of the cruelty of animal at fur farm.

Beautiful Jog Fall located at southern state of Karnataka is India’s highest waterfall. It is a segmented waterfall which depends on rain and season becomes a plunge waterfall. Its one of the power where our Lama H E the 25th Tsem Rinpoche had visited years ago. From the beautiful pictures of Jog Fall can tells us more. Looks peaceful to do prayers, recitation , meditation, retreat as encouraged by our Lama when visiting holy place. When there is stupa we can also do circumambulations, offerings and more. Doing prayers at all these power holy places would be wonderful. There are many places as mentioned by Rinpoche do have powerful positive energy. It’s those place where great masters have visited , varies prayers done, meditation ,and retreats. All these holy places such as Lumbini, Bodhgaya, Sarnath-Varanasi and Kushinagara, Tsongkapa’s birthplace and many more all over the world is infused with the powerful energy of beings. A good article to read and great knowledge of some of the power place and go on pilgrimage.
We are fortunate to have Rinpoche here in Malaysia where Kechara Forest Retreat was conceptualized ….a holy place infused with powerful energy. It has indeed benefited many and many more to come.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing with folded hands.

A very unusual friendship which I have not heard of. ‘ Incredible true story of Pocho. a injured crocodile was found on the bank of the Parasmina River in Costa Rica after being shot by a farmer.
Even an animal as large and carnivorous can be gentle and loving. All animals deserve the chance to live.Thank you very much for the good article.

Most people think animal cruelty is mainly people being unkind to animals. Based on the article million innocent animals were tortured and killed for their fur or skin off their backs. The fur industry is such a cruel heartless business that is bad for the environment and unnecessary.

It’s horrendous, I can’t believe that fur from China has so much demand. Shock to see the industries cheapest and cruelest methods used in killing the animals. All the animals are victims of cruelty spent their whole lives restricted to filthy, cramped wire cages. This has to come to an end.

The industry will continue to grow wild if there is no restriction. The success of any business depends upon how they are creating the demand for a product in the target market and then, how they are managing the supplies to fulfill that demand.

Attitudes toward minorities have been marked by discrimination historically almost everywhere. In the United States’s history many forms of discrimination had been happening in U.S. Population growth and cultural has change throughout much of the U.S. Americans enjoyed legally sanctioned privileges and rights which were denied to other races and minorities. All these should happened just because of their religion, spirituality, race, economic background. Anyway it did happened in USA, as Rinpoche did experienced before where discrimination and there are people who are segregated because of their religious faith.
In happened in the Dorje Shugden’s controversy as well all because of their faith which has affected hundred thousands of Tibetan communities . Even to this day the discrimination still continue with the Tibetan Leadership interference politics with religion.
History has a tendency to repeat itself and those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. Hopefully it will not be repeated for peace and harmony .
    Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.

Beautiful rare and precious ancient thangkas . We are fortunate to have such an opportunity to see all the rare thangkas of Dorje Shugden , Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyaltsen, Five Foremost Deities – Mo Lha and so forth. They are all centuries old thangkas . Incredible all are private collections as well as from Rubin Museum of Art which been printed centuries ago. Merely by looking at it is a blessing and paints a thousand words. All these rare centuries thangkas has proven that the Tibetan Leadership is wrong in their judgements of the Dorje Shugden origin. It is visual proof that Dorje Shugden was practised by the other Tibetan Buddhist traditions as well and is not evil spirits.
Thank you Rinpoche for this wonderful sharing.

It is inspiring to read how much she had to endure from childhood and later under her lama but she never broke down, felt sorry for herself or got angry.Thank you for sharing this wonderful article.

Buddhism has a long history in Indonesia, and is recognized as one of six official religions. Numerous stupa, statues , inscriptions from the earlier history of Indonesian has suggested c Buddhism came to Indonesia a few hundred years after Hinduism. Buddhism is the second oldest religion in Indonesia, after Hinduism recording to history. Temples been built since then which still exist and came under the world heritage site. Borobudur,is one of them which is a 9th-century Mahayana Buddhist temple, in Central Java, Indonesia. The magnificent Borobudur temple is the world’s biggest Buddhist monument, an ancient site widely considered to be one of the world’s seven wonders and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Amazing just in the Borobudur itself there were over 500 Buddha statues . I have been to there yet , wish I could. Heard from friends the beauty of it, a peaceful place good for meditation and do prayers . Buddhism in Indonesia has an interesting history behind it. The Srivijaya Kingdom and its kings were influential factors in the spreading of Buddhism then. Interesting read.
Thank you Rinpoche and Valencia sharing this interesting article.

Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness when we put into action. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in our soul. Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. Learn to be thankful for what we already have. Once we begin to take note of the things we are grateful for, we begin to lose sight of the things that we lack. Once expressed, it changes our attitude, brightens outlook, and broadens our perspective. When we express gratitude it improves our self-esteem and enhances empathy.
Thank you Rinpoche with folded hands for this great teachings which I deeply appreciate.

Great teachers are rare. It is a privilege and special opportunity when we have a great one. They are able to take a variety of styles and mold them into their own unique style to meet the needs of the students.

The purpose of a teaching is to teach us to put into practice and learning from there to improve by keeping the end in mind. The spirit of the instructions is meant to benefit and nurture the student along the spiritual path. Thank you for the sharing

It is very touching when organizations are set up solely for the benefit of animals. I salute the World Federation for the Protection of Animals (WFPA) for creating a movement on a global scale to protect and care for animals whilst educating humans on human.

This organization is around the globe and their mission is to build a global animal welfare movement. They are really doing a fantastic work.Thank you very much for sharing this article with us.

Great sharing of a great master Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen , who has reincarnated lifetime after lifetime so as to benefit all beings . A beautiful praise of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen. We are fortunate to have H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche here in Malaysia , guiding, giving all the teachings and powerful practice such as Dorje Shugden’s practice sharing with us. Dorje Shugden reincarnated as a Dharma Protector in order to benefit all. He arose from a long line of incarnations.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this short biography .

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

Thanks to the effort of our outstation team, we were able to mobilise food provisions to 600 families living in Kelantan, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor during the Raya period with each of these families receiving RM200 worth of provisions. Adding onto the current 368 families in Klang Valley, a total of 968 families were benefitted from this. Special thanks to the sponsors who have contributed especially Hong Leong Foundation and partially from Tesco Malaysia (where we also ordered the provisions from). ~ Vivian @ Kechara Soup Kitchen

So glad that our soup kitchen operations are back in full swing. Good to see the clients are observing the SOPs. Some of them lost their job during MCO and ended up on the streets. Special thanks to our sponsors and volunteers for the great support! - Vivian @ Kechara Soup Kitchen

More photos taken from our "Hari Raya Hampers" distribution this week. Making sure everyone of our clients have something to be cheerful about. Apart from food, daily used items such as hygiene products, kitchen utensils, assorted fabric items, stationary items and toys were also included into our hamper bags making it extra heavier this month! Food items alone were about 35kg per family! Taking this opportunity to wish everyone of our Muslim volunteers, friends, supporters and clients a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Maaf Zahir Batin. No doubt this year's celebration will be very different but appreciate everyone is safe and protected from the pandemic. We are in this together and let's work to fight this pandemic together! Thanking all sponsors and donors for the generous support enabling us to continue serve the needy with food, love and care. Big shoutout too to our wonderful team which already depleted by our very own strict SOP. All of you who worked tirelessly behind the s

Amongst all pujas, the fire puja is considered the king of all Pujas. It is the most powerful of all pujas within Tibetan Buddhism and its purpose is basically to remove all obstacles and its stains to enlightenment.
