Timeless and Sacred

You will be entranced by some pieces of art that are both timeless, beautiful and sacred. Something that just oozes blessings and yet modern. Myself within Kechara have been designing dharma jewelry for years. We have a department that specializes in this. The traditional Tibetan items for protection to be worn can be bulky and after a while inconvenient to wear. I was inspired to produce items that modern on-the-go people can wear for work, play and functions. Pieces that are respectful to the sacred yet easy to wear and acceptable on all occasions. Sacred jewelry that express your reaching out to the divine as well as stunning pieces of designs that will confer enjoyment and blessings for years to come.

Our beautiful sacred pendants have been invited in the thousands all around the world. We have had tremendous positive responses and we appreciate them, as these contribute to the continuation of our sacred works in Kechara as well as our charities. We have two types of pendants. The first type are the ones that we always have available. The second are one off exclusive designs which take one week for each piece to be partially handcrafted. Once taken, no more! They are perfect as gifts for someone special or just for oneself. Graduation, birthdays, weddings, Valentines, anniversaries, Mother’s day, Father’s day, holidays, Chinese Lunar New Year’s, Wesak Day, Christmas, Autumn Moon Festivals or just any day you or someone would like it to be special are wonderful occasions for these sacred stunning pieces to be given. They become collector’s items of the sacred.

We have hundreds of designs in steel, silver, gold plated, gold and white gold. We can even put precious gems such as sapphire, emeralds, diamonds on them also. We can take special orders too. The ones unfolding before your eyes are of the exclusive category. So if you are interested, you must call in quickly. They are invited very fast.

We are fortunate to have Rinpoche personally design the pendants so that people who sees it will invite it for their own or as a gift to others. This creates tremendous protection, blessings and planting imprints to anyone to sees or wears the pendant.

These are very nice pendants. Some are just too nice for my liking and probably out of my budget. But having said that, we should however we can buy one that we can best afford as it can also be an offering to the Buddha. When you fork out money to your best afford, you are actually buying to support a Dharma center which made it and also the stones that is attached with the Buddha image.

Tsem Rinpoche is very creative, he has so many ways and methods to spread Dharma and to plant Dharma seeds in people’s mindstreams. He is probably the only lama who is so active on social media platforms, using platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest to share Dharma with people all around the world.

Not only that, but Tsem Rinpoche also commissioned Dorje Shugden murals, opened stores and chapels to spread Dorje Shugden and Dharma to people. He understands that modern people are not as spiritual as before and they don’t go to the temples to learn. In order to benefit modern people, Tsem Rinpoche uses the modern way to reach out.

Making beautiful Buddha pendant is another brilliant idea to plant Dharma seeds. These pendants are so attractive that they draw people’s attention. For people who wear the pendants, not only they can get the protection energy, they can also generate merits when people see the Buddha image on the pendants.

Mantras are sacred verbalized words that invoke the protection and blessings of the deity to whom the mantra is ascribed. Mantras are also the manifestations of Buddhas in the form of ‘sounds’, hence the various mantras of Dorje Shugden contain the essence of the Protector.

    Dear friends,

Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.

You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.

Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.

May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 assistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

These pendants are beautiful and precious. Love he rustic ones of the Buddhas carved onto Dzi stones. Give it that ancient feel. Definitely eye-catching which is the main idea of wearing pendants, so that the beholder may be blessed together with the wearer who is giving the opportunity for others to view holy images.

Love them though i personally do not wear much jewelry.

  16. Valentina Suhendra on Apr 4, 2017 at 5:55 pm

These Buddha pendants are absolutely beautiful. I love jewellery. I don’t particularly like to wear them, but I like to collect them. When we purchase a jewellery with Buddha image on them, the jewellery become more than a piece of item for us to indulge ourselves. The precious stones and metals that we put into the jewellery become the offering to the Buddha. In addition, when we wear the Buddha pendant, we help to bless those whom we encountered and to build a connection between them and the enlightened deity.

I highly recommend everyone to order these beautiful Buddha pendants.

During Rinpoche’s childhood days, Rinpoche would draw and color small Buddha images, then wrap in a plastic sheet attached to a string and pass these to his relatives and friends as pendants. Rinpoche believe that by wearing this pendant, they will have the blessings and protection.(as per attached photo of Green Tara painting by the young H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. )
It is not easy for the people to have strong faith and determination to learn and practice dharma in this degenerate time. By having this kind of beautiful, creative and fashionable pendants, I personally believe that it can gain more people’s attention to these sacred pendants and plant imprints into their minds as well as give the blessings to whoever see it.

Thank you Rinpoche and Louise sharing all these beautiful and sacred pendants.

Definitely a stylishly modern avenue to afford not only protection to the wearer but also blessings for those who chance upon sight of the holy images of Buddhas fashioned into these beautiful pendants. Another plus point for getting Buddha images from Kechara (in any form) is the assurance on the accuracy of the iconography as they understand that each symbolism within a Buddha image is a representation of the entire stages of the path to Enlightenment and thus it is important to get the iconography right. Also, loving the fact that the precious gems settings also can serve as offerings to Buddhas. Thank you for sharing about these beautiful pendants and making them available to people.

Thank you Rinpoche for tirelessly think of ways to create the opportunity for many people to get blessing from the 3 jewels. Also thanks to Louise for her passion to continue creating new design for many people to be benefitted.

Who said spirituality cannot be stylish? This modern and unique pendant coupled with the Buddha images make it so outstanding and look so prestige.

I remembered Rinpoche mentioned that it a blessing for one to be able to see a Buddha images and with this stylish Buddha pendant it’s not just a blessing for the person who wear them but also a blessing for the people that see them.

It’s one of the creative way to spread blessing to many people everywhere and anywhere.

These Buddha pendants are not only beautiful and precious, they are very meaningful too. Buddhas are holy beings who guide and protect us here in samsara

Life is fragile and anytime a tragedy can happen in our life and the life of those who are close to us.

The Buddha-pendants bless us and everyone we meet. Buddhas gave up everything to benefit others. They are an object of veneration because their sole purpose is to help us out of the problems we create ourselves.

Their selfless nature inspires us to look out and see how we can benefit others too.

    Thank you!

These iconographically correct Buddha images set in precious gemstones are one of its kind and unique in every sense of the word. And the designs are versatile to suit any apparels and occasions, redefining the Buddhist sense of fashion in a big way. Thank you, Rinpoche and Louise for this sharing. I hope the pendants will bring protections to the wearer and connections to the Buddha to those who admire it by sight.

These are my all time favourite jewellery ! Wearing them provides me a sense of peace and calmness, plus they are so attractive ! I have a collection of them in various designs and colours to match my wardrobe. The designs are varied from modern setting, to exclusive high end blink-blink looks and also the antique finishing which are very bohemian and chic. Prior to buying from Kechara, I have never seen any other Buddhist organisation that produces such varied and attractive pendants. I also buy them as gifts for my Buddhists friends. They love them too. Very beautiful and meaningful gifts for friends and family.
Thank you Rinpoche for all the creative ideas to bring blessings and spirituality into our lives to help us. Thank you Louise and other designers for your creative designs.

AMAZING!!! I love looking at the beautiful designs! Every time I go into Kechara Paradise outlets, the first place I would go to is the pendant display shelves. I have always love the pendants and I have personally invited a LOT, from simple designs to the sophistically beautiful pendants, like the ones above. The best part is that there will always be pendants to suit the many occasions and style. We are so lucky to have them in Kechara. Comments such as this one left by ‘Suzy in Hawaii’ on Tsem Rinpoche’s YouTube channel is becoming common. After demonizing Dorje Shugden for twenty years, the Tibetan leadership is fast losing its supporters to logic and better information. In this comment Suzy writes honestly how she held on her jaundiced view of Shugden only because the words of the Dalai Lama colored her judgement. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl-4lIwxph4&t=11s

Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa, Tibet

Over 400 years ago a great and learned lama Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was famed in Mongolia, Tibet, Nepal and China for being very saintly and compassionate. He resided in his residence (Zimkhang Gongma Ladrang) in Drepung Monastery. His root guru was H.H. the Omniscient 4th Panchen Lama and his close dharma brother was the 5th Dalai Lama.

The 5th Dalai Lama and Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen had a very close and dharmic relationship and often went to receive teachings together from the 4th Panchen Lama. They were close in age. They both became very learned and well known. During this time, the Dalai Lama was enthroned as a Dharma King of Tibet. But more people went to see Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen for teachings, initiations and divinations. This made the attendants of the 5th Dalai Lama feel threatened that Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s fame might usurp the power of the 5th Dalai Lama. So they had a khata forced down his throat. At that moment, Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen dissolved his psychic winds and generated the wish to be a great guardian of Buddha and Tsongkapa’s teachings. As his consciousness dissolved, he entered ‘bardo’ as a dharma protector of the highest order (jikten depey sungma). Many signs were seen throughout Lhasa at this time and the earth was said to have shaken in Lhasa. This event was already predicted to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s previous incarnation when he was one of the 8 main disciples of Lord Tsongkapa the Supreme Master and he served Tsongkapa directly by building Gaden Monastery.

When the 5th Dalai Lama heard what his scheming and power-hungry attendants had done, he was very distressed. He was very sorry Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was murdered and dishonored as he was a great dharma master. The 5th Dalai Lama composed an apology to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen. In Lhasa, tens of thousands gathered for the cremation of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s holy body. During the cremation, the 5th Dalai Lama’s apology was read out at which flames spontaneously arose from the body of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen commencing the cremation. From the body, during cremation, a powerful whirlwind of smoke tunneled into the sky for all to see as this was an indication Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s consciousness has arisen as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. The Dharma Protector Setrap immediately recognized this new protector Dorje Shugden and ‘enthroned’ him as a powerful Dharma Protector in the realm of the Buddhas. From this, Setrap and Dorje Shugden are closely connected and very close working hand in hand always. After the cremation, the great 5th Dalai Lama built a Dorje Shugden chapel on the spot the cremation took place and named it Trode Khangsar. The 5th Dalai Lama commissioned the statue of Dorje Shugden in this chapel and had monks installed in the chapel to do continuous propitiations to Dorje Shugden. Trode Khangsar Chapel was a commemoration to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who was wronged and also a celebration of his consciousness arising as the World Peace Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

This Trode Khangsar Chapel still exists now in Lhasa where many make pilgrimages there. It is in good condition and was recently renovated. It is over 400 years old and a testimony to the respect the Great 5th Dalai Lama had to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who arose as Dorje Shugden.

I have visited this holy chapel in Lhasa years back. I’ve never heard of it till I was in Lhasa and by chance, I was told about it which I was happy to visit. I could not find the place but strangely a bunch of pilgrims from Amdo told me they would show me how to get there in Lhasa.

This short video is a short clip of this holy Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa today commemorating Dorje Shugden, built by the great 5th Dalai Lama. The great 5th Dalai Lama even composed a prayer to Dorje Shugden which is still available today and we can recite to invoke the blessings, protection, and assistance of World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

    HUM
Though unmoving from the sphere of primordial spontaneity,
With wrathful turbulent power, swifter than lightning,
Endowed with heroic courage to judge good and bad,
I invite you with faith, please come to this place!

Robes of a monk, crown adorned with rhinoceros leather hat,
Right hand holds ornate club, left holds a human heart,
Riding various mounts such as nagas and garudas,
Who subdues the mamos of the charnel grounds, praise to you!

Samaya substances, offerings and torma, outer, inner and secret,
Favourite visual offerings and various objects are arranged.
Although, previously, my wishes were a bit dense,
Do not stop your powerful apparitions, I reveal and confess!

Now respectfully praising with body, speech, and mind,
For us, the masters, disciples, benefactors and entourages,
Provide the good and avert the bad!
Bring increase like the waxing moon in spiritual and temporal realms!

Wow! Rinpoche was right when he said all these precious pendants are timeless and sacred yet modern. All of them are smartly designed and deeply meaningful with the colours and shapes that were blended together with the Buddhas. And the fact that one Buddha (Dorje Shugden, for example) can blend in and be complementary with so much colours and stones just shows how diverse and flexible all the Buddhas are! 😉

Thank you, Rinpoche, for posting this. And thank you, Louise Lee for coming up with such designs.

    With folded hand,

Growing up in a Taoist family where my grand uncle was a practicing medium, I have been exposed to protections and amulets since a child. I used to carry a yellow cloth with my chinese words written on it as my main protection and I never failed to take it along with me everywhere I go as I felt having some sort of protection makes me feel safe. Yes, I have many fears! Now that I am a Buddhist, having some sort of protection is still important to me. So when Kechara have so many choices of fashionable pendants to be worn daily, it fits what I need very much and I was pleased. The best part is, I am helping plant imprints of Enlightenment into other’s minds when my friends, etc sees my pendant. I just love fashion with a cause!

And Louise, I love the one you are wearing!

These are really beautiful pieces that can be worn for all occasions – whether you’re at a party, out to shop, meeting a friend, going to school, at work; there’s a suitable piece for every situation!

I always feel protected when I have my Buddha pendant on me. I have four pieces; my first was a Lama Tsongkhapa pendant blessed and gifted by Rinpoche, my second was a Setrap which was a gift from my lovely father, third was a Green Tara which my younger brother bought for me during one of Kechara’s events, and lastly, a recently acquired one of Dorje Shugden.

    I love wearing Buddha pendants…

    1. It protects me

    2. It blesses those, both people and animal, who gaze upon it as it is of a holy image

    3. It gives positive energy to my surroundings

    4. It draws attention!! – Ive had many people ask me about my modern, chic, beautiful pendants. And from there, I am able to bring people into the Dharma!

Kechara really creates lovely pieces of modern spiritual aspirants.

When we wear these beautiful pendants, we are also “putting on” the energies related to these enlightened beings. Besides tapping into these energies when we wear the pendant, these beautiful and blessed images also bless the people who lays eyes on them.

The Fourth Takpu, Pema Vajra Jampel Tenpai Ngodrub was a highly attained lama. He was also commonly known as Takpu Dorje Chang who had many authentic visions of the Buddhas. He had even received directly teachings from Buddhas. He had received direct visions of Tara herself. Tagpu Pemavajra had travelled to Tushita, the heavenly abode of Lama Tsongkhapa as requested by Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche where he received the complete cycle of teachings on Dorje Shugden. Tagpu Pemavajra was one such lama who was attained enough to receive these teachings for the benefit of others. He was instrumental in the development of the Dorje Shugden practice within the Gelug tradition. Wow he was able to astral travel to various pure lands and receive special teachings. Interesting biography of a great lama.

Amazing discovery a 2,000 year old Indian Buddhist document as it tell us how Buddhism took root in India. It’s the oldest Buddhist manuscripts yet discovered, dating from about the 1st century BCE to 3rd century CE. Found in the north-western outskirts of the Indian subcontinent an ancient Buddhist kindgom. The document, written on a birch bark scroll offers rare insight into the early history of Buddhism. Surviving manuscripts are rare only a few hundred are known to still exist. Understanding the history of the region helps us realize the significance of this scroll.

Visited this stunning standing Manjushri which is located at the Manjushree Park at Chobhar, in Kathmandu, Nepal recently. Feeling so blessed able to see it , with my friends. Manjushree Park, one of most natural, historic attactive park within Kathmandu valley. Fantastic well managed picnic spot one should visit and not to be missed when one is at Kathmandu Nepal. Visible 33 ft. high black stone carved Manjushree statue .Manjushri is one of the most important iconic figures in Mahayana Buddhism. The powerful image representing ever-present wisdom plus the sword of awareness to cut off all delusion. An interesting story behind this Kathmandu Valley where mythology and geology intertwine.
Thank you Rinpoche for this interesting sharing .

According to Buddhist teaching, prostration manifests the spiritual growth, faith of a person. In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, prostration is an important element of practice. Traditionally, prostrations are more than a show of respect for Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Making prostration is a basic part of our lives in Buddhism. They are a method to purify our mind, or the antidote for ego-clinging. One of the general benefits of prostration is that in the future we will achieve a good rebirth . Prostration is a very powerful activity that can clear away obscuration of our body, speech, and mind as well as clearing our past and present negative karma. A huge merits for anyone doing prostration with proper visualization as well as the proper motivation.
Having seen practitioners doing prostration along the road at Lhasa and reading teachings on prostration on blogs had motivated me to do retreat on it. Its was during the MCO back in 2020, I did a prostration retreat then. Even though it took me a longer time somehow I have completed 100,150k prostrations . Now I am still continue to do but not as many prostration as before.
Well even though this is an old post I would to congratulate those involved in the prostration retreat at that time. It’s a good that Kechara is have a teachings on prostration and retreat .
    Thank you Rinpoche.

Religious freedom is one of the most fundamental of human rights. As religious freedom comes from the dignity of the human being. It allows different faiths and beliefs to flourish. It protects the rights of all religious groups and individuals. We must respect religious freedom and all religions must be tolerated. Without freedom of thought, there can be no such thing as wisdom. Respect for religious diversity is an essential element of any peaceful society. Offering of robes to Buddhist monks by the Muslim Mandalay Buddhist Monks is a very good example for everyone. Its such a wonderful way to foster religious harmony.

Beautiful memes paints a thousand words . May these memes brings awareness to more people understanding the pain and sufferings of those Dorje Shungden’s practitoners all these years. Religious freedom should be allowed without discrimination and segregation just because of individual practice of faith. May His Holiness the Dalai Lama restore the harmony, peace and unity among all practitioners.
Thank you Rinpoche and writers for these memes.

Kalmykia, is a republic of Russia, located in the North Caucasus region of Southern Russia. This is the only region in Europe where Buddhism is the predominant religion. The republic is home to the Kalmyks, a people of Mongol origin who are primarily of Buddhist faith. Buddhism is considered to be one of Russia’s traditional religions and is legally a part of Russian historical heritage. The region has been home to many major world religions and ideologies. Tibetan Buddhism is the traditional and most popular religion among the Kalmyks. The Republic has many natural resources and wildlife over the centures. Amazingly the caspian steppes and semi-deserts have a favourable conditions for keeping sheep and cattle in pastures all year round. The land of Kalmykia has many natural resources with the hydrocarbon deposits of national significance, chemical raw materials and so forth. The culture and mentality of the Kalmyk people is rooted in the general Mongol and Oirat traditions. The historical, cultural and natural heritage of the Kalmyk people, their ancient traditions and folk crafts all contribute to the tourism development. It has attracted many tourists, the whole year through all due to its advantageous geographical position. With the area’s unique natural landmarks, specific ethnography and its historical and cultural environment, I hope I could visit this beautiful place someday.
Thank you Rinpoche and Stella Cheang for this wonderful sharing.

The Tian Shan mountains also known as the Mountains of Heaven is a large system of mountain ranges in Central Asia. The Tian Shan mountains are part of the Himalayan orogenic belt. One of the longest mountain ranges in Central Asia and the largest isolated east-west mountain range globally. This Tianshan mountains has been a key to the development and spread of human society and culture over thousands of years. Bands of smashed unique rock amid massive fault zones of Tian Shan are preserved to this days. The Tian Shan Mountains of Central Asia, with its varying unique landscapes, high passes, stunning lakes and the spectacular pyramid of Khan Tengri has attracted many locals and tourist in recent years. Picturesquely located on a cliff face overlooking a river valley are the ancient Thousand Buddha Caves. The discoveries of images of Buddha had proven that Buddhism existed in the AD’s. Amazing …looking at those pictures in this blog tells all.
Thank you Rinpoche for this wonderful sharing.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

We were told by Uncle Wong he is very faithful toward Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden has extended help to him on several occasions and now Uncle Wong comes daily to make incense offerings to Dorje Shugden. He is grateful towards the help he was given.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
