The Horse and the Western Zodiac

Jun 17, 2010 | Views: 27,501

Another factor which affects an individual’s personality is the sun sign. The sun signs are better known as the Western zodiac, and they parallel the Chinese lunar signs. Many of us know what our Western zodiac sign is, take a look below to see how they influence the sign of the Horse.

.

ARIES: 21 March to 19 April
Fire + Positive Fire = Aries Horse

The Horse refines the impulsiveness of the Ram with speed, grace and skillfulness. You are tireless in your energy and are always game for the latest adventure. However you may lack the staying power to see things through. Both are energetic, highly spirited signs, and you will find it very hard to stop for even a moment. There will always be something new to keep you on your toes. You will always be moving, always looking for action and impatient for new challenges.

You are competitive, enterprising, good company and more capable of devotion than other Horses. This combination of Aries and Horse brings intuitive, impulsive, domineering, generous and optimistic character traits to the highest degree and you are likely to be a great achiever. With your altruistic nature, nothing will be too much for you to do to bring aid to your fellow humans. However, you can be overzealous when giving advice and this can put people off.

Despite a confident front, you can be emotionally fragile. Disappointments can affect you profoundly and cause you to completely change the course of your life, but at the same time a kind gesture can reconcile you with the world. You value your freedom intensely and any threat to it can provoke a strong retaliation from you.

.

TAURUS: 20 April to 20 May
Earth + Positive Fire = Taurean Horse

The more pragmatic Taurus dilutes the Horse’s impetuousness but not enough to rule out the fun-loving and colourful nature. Both signs are very determined and find it hard to be put down or discouraged. You are less temperamental and more stable, but you can be too rigid. You are more secure and will be able to hold down your interests and goals with more focus and with longer-lasting results than other Horses. You are not averse to taking advice from others.

You have an engaging and sympathetic personality that makes people feel at ease. You are fond of life, place importance on morals and you find pleasures in the simple things in life. You are generous, idealistic and always ready to come to the aid of others. Your interest in work and great projects helps you achieve professional and material success very early in your life. You are likely to enjoy a good social position.

Where your love life is concerned, you are passionate and can be flirtatious. However, once you have committed yourself, you will be faithful to your partner. You will go all out to bring comfort and take care of your loved ones.

.

GEMINI: 21 May to 21 June
Air + Positive Fire = Gemini Horse

The two most unpredictable and impulsive signs meet in this explosive combination. A Gemini’s temperament changes as quickly as the weather, while the Horse acts and reacts constantly on the spur of the moment. One will never quite know what to expect around you. You will respond to situations extremely quickly and you are able to change and adapt to situations much faster and more quick-wittedly than any other Horse.

However, what you gain in speed, you lack in depth – you can be in many places, doing many things at once, but you will become a jack of all trades and master of none. Your propensity for change will also mean that you are constantly restless; you will go into something with a great deal of zeal but then abandon it just as quickly. You tend not to take yourself seriously and you do not show your real emotions. Precise and meticulous, you do not let anyone take advantage of you. You can usually get out of difficult situations with your great intelligence.

In love, you tend to avoid commitment. Nothing is ever definitive with you because you get bored quickly. However, once you engage in a union and marriage, you will be faithful.

.

CANCER: 22 June to 21 July
Water + Positive Fire = Cancerian Horse

The Water element makes a softer, calmer more loving Horse while the fiery nature of the Horse helps the Cancer to lighten up and be less passive. You will be active but perhaps less impulsive and more refined in your methods, attitudes, tastes and relations with others. You can still be temperamental but the Horse’s playful energy relaxes you and makes you more forgiving. You are more aware of your surroundings and your intuitive Horse nature makes you more connected with your environment.

You use your painful experiences to learn and strengthen your desire to understand and protect others from suffering. You are gentle, sympathetic, caring, and you know how to make yourself loved. You are the type that dislikes routine. Movements, travels, or sport are more suited to you. In love, you have a tendency to be not committed. However, your happiness lies in being surrounded by family.

.

LEO: 22 July to 21 August
Fire + Positive Fire = Leo Horse

The Leo Horse will be very popular, with a great following and loved for his cheerful, bright outlook on life. Rarely does anything get you down and very seldom do you doubt what you set out to do. Expressive in nature, you are prone to grand gestures, impulsive acts and emotional moments. However, you will always rally forward with great optimism, ambition and passion and you are a happy, creative, approachable leader. You are energetic and do best with physical exercise as well as other diverse means for expressing yourself emotionally.

You have a great attraction for unusual things and are spiritually inclined. You have great commercial sense and tend to be good in business. Professional and social success come easily to you because you have great confidence in yourself, are convincing and have an infectious enthusiasm.

In love, you are passionate and loyal. You can commit yourself to a relationship as long as it is no threat to your freedom.

.

VIRGO: 22 August to 22 September
Earth + Positive Fire = Virgo Horse

The Virgo careful nature brings stability and order to the disorganized and unruly Horse. You may not be as quick and spontaneous as most Horses but you are still very sharp, alert and intuitive. Your actions will be well thought out and responsible, which can bring greater benefits in the long term.

Virgo cures some of your Horse shortcomings, such as lack of precision, lack of self-discipline, irresponsibility and unruliness. You will excel professionally if you engage in work that thrills you and allows you certain freedom of action. You have great aptitude for work that calls for business sense.

In love, you are more inclined to security than great passionate experiences. You are devoted to your partner and family.

.

LIBRA: 23 September to 22 October
Air + Positive Fire = Libran Horse

An independent and happy personality, the Libran Horse will be less self-absorbed and more willing to work with and compromise with others. You are a cheerful character and can speak very well when the occasion demands. Your unpredictable Horse tendencies will still be there, but you are is more astute and discerning, and will know how to look out for good opportunities and take care of yourself. You are level headed and realistic but can be indecisive.

You are practical, organized and you like order but at the same time, you can be a dreamer. You will do well in things that require movement, flexibility and constant change. You are somewhat averse to routine and are likely to engage in careers that require artistic skills, intellect and travel.

You are cautious when engaging in your love life so as not to compromise your freedom and desire for constant change. Although sincere in your feelings, your love life will be fraught with uncertainty and challenges.

.

SCORPIO: 23 October to 21 November
Water + Positive Fire = Scorpio Horse

The Scorpio Horse is among the most serious and has less of that happy-go-lucky impulsiveness of other Horses. Your stubbornness is made all the more impenetrable by your quietness and the elusive mystery of all Scorpios. Like all Horses, you will be all the more resistant to menial work, petty rules and regulations or opposition that may get in the way of your goals.

The Scorpio Horse combination makes your Horse nature even more fixated in thought processes that can make you unreasonable and difficult to work with. You have a tendency to direct your highly charged energies into fulfilling your desires. You are an extreme personality and can be ambitious to the point of giving yourself insurmountable goals or can also be totally withdrawn from the world and be engaged in spirituality.

In love, you are passionate, vulnerable to love but not very expressive. For a union with you to succeed, you must be given ample freedom.

.

SAGITTARIUS: 22 November to 21 December
Fire + Positive Fire = Sagittarian Horse

Two very active and spirited signs come together to form a Horse that will live life to the fullest potential, at a level far more intense than most of us can handle. However, this very quality can make you emotional, unstable and lacking in composure. There is too much speed and energy but not enough stamina and staying power to see you through your activities. You have the tendency to take on more than you can handle and subsequently burn out when your mental prowess gets the better of your physical limitations.

You are energetic and love an active, sporty life. You are kind, helpful, generous and have goodwill towards people. Money comes and goes easily for you. In love, you are sincere but can be very impulsive. Before you decide to attach yourself to someone, you tend to place more importance on your freedom than your feelings. However, once you have made your decision to settle down, you will make a good partner.

.

CAPRICORN: 22 December to 20 January
Earth + Positive Fire = Capricorn Horse

The Capricorn Horse will be very successful in all he sets out to do. The consistency and reliability of the Capricorn sign brings stability to the Horse’s unpredictable and impulsive ways. As a Horse, you are intuitive and quick to respond to situations, but the careful Goat helps you check things out thoroughly before acting. This quality makes you all the more industrious, active and productive.

You work with your feelings but are highly aware of what is going on in your surroundings. You are able to prioritize, analyze and execute your goals simultaneously with speed. The Capricorn makes the Horse in you relatively materialistic. You are not afraid of hard work to achieve financial security. You have great confidence, and are optimistic and ambitious, but your need for security stops your from taking too much risk. You have sound commercial sense and are good in business.

When negative, you are prone to a depressive state but this can be mitigated if you focus out and put your mind towards taking care of others. In love, you are spontaneous and follow your heart. You have the tendency to throw caution to the wind and may end up with responsibilities you are not ready for. However, you are very responsible towards your loved ones.

.

AQUARIUS: 21 January to 19 February
Air + Positive Fire = Aquarian Horse

A dreamer at heart, the Aquarian Horse lives between the reality of this world and his imagination. You are always ready for an adventure and nothing is too far-fetched for you. You have a great love for the possibilities that life presents and you never dwell on the past, no matter how bad it may have been. You are always active, involved and constantly surrounded by people, things, projects and dreams to keep you busy, stimulated and in love with life itself.

You are idealistic in nature and believe in world peace and universal brotherhood. You are a good Samaritan who is ever ready to help the weak, the oppressed and the underprivileged. You have great interest in the world, ideas, human sciences and communication. You are not the type that would comply with rigid discipline or routine. You are at the best of your capabilities when moving or travelling.

In love, you are intensely passionate but difficult to grasp. In order for you to be happy, your relationships should be based on friendship and understanding as much as love.

.

PISCES: 20 February to 20 March
Water + Positive Fire = Piscean Horse

The Piscean moderateness and patience tempers the Horse’s hot-headedness. The self consciousnature of Pieces makes you more cautious but you maintain the swiftness and intuitive impulses of your Horse sign, creating a fine balance between speed, meticulousness and sensitivity. You are accommodating to the needs of others, loving, eager to please and understanding.

However, you can be naïve at times and be easily taken in by appearances, especially when you have a good feeling about someone or something. You thrive on continuous change and travels and you tend to be attracted to foreign people, philosophies and cultures. You have a great inclination towards things that are religious and mystical. You can be overly ambitious and tend to overestimate your strength, your chance and your intuition. Generally, you are more interested in ideas than money. You are likely to engage yourself in the artistic or spiritual field.

Your love life can be unstable, subject to entangled situations and sudden changes. You may have many marriages in your life.

    Hi!
I’m am aquarius horse attracted to libran horse.
Western sign say we are compatible but horse and horse is not a good match.
    Any advice??

    • Wei Wei on Jun 11, 2016 at 3:10 am

HORSE PARTNER + HORSE PARTNER: 70%
Both are attracted to each other very strongly. Both love adventure and are charmed by each other’s good looks. The fact that the two are identical makes teamwork and cooperation possible because they work at a similar rate. This enables them to be perfect partners, friends, and companions. They are both passionate but independent and restless, making life together very hectic with no guarantee where they will end up unless one is skillful enough to control the other.

They may not be able to have a solid family life as both get bored with routine and restrictions. One may feel overshadowed at times if the other gets more indulgences. If they can overcome these obstacles, they may have a joyful relationship.

says here on the compatibility calculator https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/horoscopes/relationship-compatibility-for-the-horse.html#horse-horse

      all the best.

I am a Gemini born in the year of the metal Rooster. What is your forecast for the year ahead, especially regarding relationships?

According to Chinese astrology, you should do your best to ‘avoid’ Rat, Rabbit, Horse, Rooster, Dog unless they have a ascendant sign of snake and or ox. And their element is wood and or water. Fire and metal would conflict with you. The snake/ox in individuals will bring more appealing traits to you. This year is a mediocre year for you as monkeys are mediocre match for you and fire is very strong. Of course if we are kind and practice compassion, we can get along with almost everyone. Good luck.

According to Buddhist belief, we can take rebirth in the animal realms. Therefore, it is possible that we were an animal in our previous life. If we look at some people, their behaviours are very animal-like, this might be an indication that they were an animal in their previous life and they bring these behaviours with them into this life.

This is a proof that while we cannot bring the wealth we have accumulated with us when we die but we will bring our karmas, our habits with us when we die. Since this is the case, we shoould get rid of our bad habituation while we can and cultivate good qualities to create the cause to take rebirth in a better place.

Thank you Pastor Jean Ai for this beautiful , heartfelt sharing. Rinpoche’s love for Oser is unconditional. The thought of Oser dog is the only thing on earth that loves Rinpoche more than Oser love herself. Animals have come to mean so much in our lives. In our eyes, dogs always win as the sweetest, cutest, and most lovable pets we have. Well from what I read from the post Oser hold a special place in Rinpoche’s heart and well taken care of, having all the love, care.

Thank you Pastor David for sharing the simplicity of Rinpoche’s room which I am sure many of us would like to know more. Rinpoche had choose to live an abundant life through self- simplicity. Rinpoche cares for others more than himself and always lightens the burdens of another. Rinpoche ‘s kindness and compassion will transform someone’s dark moment with a blaze of light. Rinpoche will not waste a minute in his life, bringing benefits to those around him and others. Whatever Rinpoche did was never for himself.
Recently when I was at the DA I saw those large collections of English Dharma books of Rinpoche. Amazing collections…..from books shelves, gifts shelves, to Rinpoche’s two Schnauzers shelves which is full of snacks and toys.
From what I read in this post tells all how facilitate Rinpoche’s room is.

Having the Panglung Ritroe- The Rising House of Power is a historical landmark for us at Kechara Forest Retreat, Bentong. A few years back Kechara were given the privilege of building an official place of residence to the oracle of Dorje Shugden. Great merits to have it here at Kechara , can imagined a residence for the oracle other than, H E. the 7th Panglung Kuten Thubten Phelgye Jigme Namgyal, who is known as Choje-la to many of us. The original Panglung Ritroe in Lhasa which was home to the Panglung Rinpoches and the lineage of the Panglung oracles was destroyed during the Chinese invasion. And our Guru decided to build one for the Oracle so as Dorje Shugden’s lineage preserved, that will bringing tremendous benefits to many in future.
From what I saw from pictures of the residence , it is beautiful, spacious indeed. Rejoice to JP, the kind sponsors and the teams who made this happen.
May the pure lineage of Tsongkhapa and Dorje Shugden continues to flourish.
Thank you Rinpoche for what Rinpoche have done , bringing the lineage of Dorje Shugden to Malaysia. We are indeed fortunate able to receive teachings from Rinpoche and practice it.

Thank you, Pastor Henry, for sharing this important message. There are a lot of suffering and killings happens behind walls that people are too ignorant to find out. Killings are very common and in fact, it is a necessary part of the whole industry to produce meat that most people loves. Little did they know where and how did the meat come from.

For us to have the meat, an animal will have to be butchered. There are plenty of suffering right from the moment where the animal is born. Usually, they will be separated from their mothers and start living in small and cramp places. Then, they will be fed an unnatural diet with plenty of growth hormones.

When they are in good size, the animals will be butchered mercilessly without sympathy. This is the life of a farm animal. So much of suffering and pain created just for the sake of us filling our hungry stomach.

The Peace book teaches us the truth that we need very badly. In our daily life, so many things draw us away from the truth, by entertainment, shopping, and so on.Harmony, love, care and forgiveness is what we need to practice day after day so that it becomes natural with time.
One thing good is that nothing is permanent, not even our deluded mind and we all have a choice we can make each and every day when we wake up. We can choose to be positive and negative and the path we take for that day creates positive or negative circumstances in the future.

Beautiful underwater restaurant in the Maldives called ‘Ithaa’, and it is built 5 meters (16 feet) below sea level making it completely submerged in the sea. The acrylic view allows the restaurant diners to have a 180-degree panoramic view of the sea.

This is the world’s first underwater restaurant. It is highly popular but is only able to host 14 people at one time, so diners are advised to make a booking 14 days in advance.

The concept is really unique. The structure was conceptualized in New Zealand, and built in Singapore. After construction, it was shipped over to Maldives where the restaurant currently is. It really is amazing how engineers and architects can create such magnificent structures. There really are no limitations to creating something from our imagination… Do have a look at the beautiful pictures of the underwater restaurant at http://bit.ly/2CD9L0P

Beautiful Buddha standing at ‘Husain Sagar’ lake, in India.

It is a lake in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, built by Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali in 1562, during the rule of Ibrahim Quli Qutb Shah. It was 5.7 square kilometres built on a tributary of the River Musi to meet the water and irrigation needs of the city. There is a large monolithic statue of the Gautam Buddha in the middle of the lake which was erected in 1992.

In another source: Buddha Statue of Hyderabad. Hyderabad is the capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Between 1983 and 1989, N. T. Rama Rao served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. During his tenure, he spent large sums to erect several statues of people from the region’s political and religious history. During his visit to New York, he saw the Statue of Liberty and was inspired by the efforts to restore it. He said “I wanted something like that… That would have been my contribution to society.” Rama Rao chose to depict Gautama Buddha because “he was a humanitarian who told the whole truth to the people. It is our pride.”

Oprah Winfrey and some of her staff recently took on a challenge… to go vegan for one week!

For seven days, Oprah and her members of staff decided to go without meat, fish, milk, eggs, cheese etc… basically any product or by-product that comes from an animal. The charge was led by New York Times best-selling author Kathy Freston, who has sworn by a vegan lifestyle for seven years now.

She said that “Everyone [at Harpo] was so excited and interested in it. I think knowing that it can be such a game-changer — that it can really affect you in your body and your spirit — I think so many people were just excited to give it a whirl.”

In order for meat to arrive at our dinner plates, IT HAS TO COME FROM SOMEWHERE. In this case, animals have to be slaughtered and killed. It’s worse when the animal is mistreated right up to the point of death…

We can’t always turn a blind eye to where our meat comes from… it comes from the blood and life of another being that is NOT WILLING to give it up just so that we can pleasure our tastebuds.

Narrated by and starring Sir Paul McCartney, PETA’s shocking new video takes its inspiration from the most well-known quote in the animal rights movement and offers a brief glimpse behind the walls of slaughterhouses, factory farms, live-animal transport and the fishing industry.

By teaming up with PETA to produce the powerful video – titled, “Glass Walls” – Sir Paul is helping to uncover the horrific abuse that the meat and dairy industries inflict on animals to provide consumers with cheap burgers, nuggets and other products. He also explains the massive cost to the environment for which the meat industry is directly responsible.

Billions of individual animals are violently killed for their flesh every year – whilst others spend almost their entire lives confined in filthy, cramped conditions, where they are forced to produce seemingly endless supplies of eggs or gallons of milk.

The concept of a meatless diet may be a hard sell for many athletes and their fans. The demands of strenuous activity necessary for games/matches or regular practices may require as many as 6,000 calories and 200 grams of protein daily depending upon the player and his or her sport. How can famous vegetarian athletes possibly meet that need without eating meat?

While plant-based diets have been proven to help reduce the risk of diabetes, cancer and heart disease, as well as speed along the repair of torn muscles and tendons and improve blood and oxygen flow, some still emphasize the difficulty vegetarian/vegan athletes face when attempting to reach their athletic goals. NFL Nutritionist Mitzi Dulan explains that reaching the massive caloric and protein intake levels necessary is easier for some players to reach by eating protein-dense, higher calorie animal foods. However, the body itself more easily processes grains, veggies, legumes and fruit into energy. The only problem, according to Dulan, is that it takes a LOT of the latter foods to fuel NFL player body demands—as well as strict vigilance about the nutrients they’re consuming. Quinoa, beans, hemp, nuts, seeds and vegetarian/vegan protein shakes can help these famous vegetarian athletes meet their needs.

Let’s meet some famous athletes who’ve gone meatless despite the naysayers and find out how it’s working for these vegetarian athletes at http://bit.ly/2CFdBqi

Most of us has taken it for granted that we have a connection with Dharma, let a lone met a qualified teacher. When we have met a qualified teacher, we must not let go of the teacher because we are not sure when we will meet a qualified teacher to have him guide us in our spiritual journey. In order to be connected to our teacher and the three Jewels not only in this life but all of our future life times, we must take the opportunity to make offerings and do the practice. Sometimes, our negative karma is so strong that we cannot see the truth, but have faith in our teacher and follow his instruction without having a doubt. When we have purified our negative karma and collected enough merits, we will have the realisation.

There are no second chances in life, except to feel remorse. Chances are given only once I do believe. If there is, it will be a miracle or considered you are truly lucky. Once you lose it , there is no turning back. One always have a choice and chance, grab it when opportunity come or else it will be too late. Having it , appreciate it once for all before our time is out. Learning , practicing Dharma is the best choice
I have chosen even though I started late. Its never too late after all ,I found Tsem Rinpoche’s blog and since then it have changed my life.
Thank you Rinpoche with folded hands.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this wonderful inspirational quote. Everything is from within ourselves. We gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which we come across. Courage is knowing what not to fear. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Compassion is the desire that moves the individual self to widen the scope of its self-concern to embrace the whole of the universal self.
We practice compassion, kindness , caring and respect each other in whatever situation, turning negatives to positive.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

    2 yearss ago
What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
