Losing a Handbag and Finding a Miracle
On 31st October 2015, I lost my handbag and valuables at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (“KLIA”). Then, a stranger called and told me that my handbag has been found.
My name is Valentina Suhendra. I am the founder and Chairwoman of Yayasan Kechara Indonesia (“YKI”). I received the practice of Wisdom Buddha and Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden several years ago from my Guru H.E. the 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. My Guru told me that if I rely on Dorje Shugden, he would take care of me and all my endeavours. I followed my Guru’s advice.
On 31st October 2015, I went to Kuala Lumpur for a visit. After I arrived at KLIA, I changed my SIM card to Malaysian number and put the phone number information inside my handbag. Then, just like other visitors, I cleared immigration and collected my suitcases. I remembered, I was using an airport trolley and put my handbag on the upper section of the trolley.
My handbag contained all my cash for the trip, some jewelry, passport, plane tickets, international driving license, credit cards, ATM cards, etc. I went out through door #5 at arrival hall and called the driver, Mr. Rahman. I have known Mr. Rahman for more than eight years. After he arrived, Mr. Rahman was busy moving my bigger suitcases to his car, I was very much occupied with my mobile phone and forgot to take my handbag along.
Halfway to my destination, I realized that I did not have my handbag with me. I was very scared and asked Mr. Rahman to go back to the airport. The trip back seemed like forever, and I was chanting Dorje Shugden mantra all the way. After we arrived, I asked around whether anyone saw a black M&S handbag. The responses were negative. I went to the information counter and was suggested to go to the police station at level 5 of KLIA airport. I went to the police station and reported the incident.
In the police station, the police officers were very kind. They asked CCTV section to search for what happened with my handbag. I told them I was thirsty and did not have money because all the cash was in my handbag. The police bought me a drink and tried to make me feel better with their kind words. However, I could tell that they were pessimistic that my handbag could be found. I continued to chant Dorje Shugden mantra. I think the mantra calmed me down. Somehow, there was a voice inside my head that said “Don’t worry, you’ll get your bag.” About two hours later, a lady named Ms. Janice Chong called me and asked whether I lost my handbag. I told her yes. She said her boss found my handbag and they invited me to come to their office in Kajang to collect my handbag the next day. Janice gave me her office address along with the information that she is from a company called Smart Cable (M) Sdn Bhd. (“Smart Cable”). The police officers did some verification by calling Janice’s back. Then they told me that it is quite safe for me to go to that company address. I thanked the police officers for their kindness.
On the way back, my driver, Mr. Rahman told me that he was praying for me. I told him that I did not have any money to pay him for this trip. He said not to worry about it.
The next day, my Kecharian friends, Su Ming, Jerry and Wylfred, drove me to Smart Cable office. I prayed to Dorje Shugden along the way so that I would get my handbag with the content intact. I was particularly thinking about the memento from my late grandmother that was inside the bag. It was very precious to me because it reminded me of my beloved grandmother. I prayed to Dorje Shugden that the content of the handbag would be intact
When we arrived at Smart Cable Office, Ms. Janice Chong greeted us. She introduced us to her boss Mr. Ken Yuan, who happened to be the Managing Director of Smart Cable. Mr. Ken Yuan brought my handbag and asked me to explain the content of the bag. Afterward, we verified the content together. Everything was there. I was so relief. I thanked Mr. Ken Yuan and offered him a silver Gyenze (i.e., Dorje Shugden in increase form) pendant. My Kechara friends also offered some gifts to Mr. Ken Yuan to express their gratitude.
When I reflected on that series of events following the lost of my handbag, I received so much kindness for everyone I met. I sincerely thank everyone involved including Mr. Rahman the driver, the police officers on duty at KLIA, Mr. Ken Yuan and Ms. Janice, and my Kecharian friends. I am very grateful that I have followed my Guru’s advice to rely on Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden’s blessing is so real and immediate.

This is truly a miracle, we all know that losing a handbag in the airport is a disaster and to be able to get it back is almost impossible, but the bag was returned to Valentina in a perfect condition and nothing was taken. How amazing is that? It’s almost like dropping a pin in the ocean and being able to retrieve it back.
When we have good samaya or spiritual relationship with our guru, whatever inner and outer obstacles we have will be pacified if we have integrity and do our work well with the sole intent to benefit others. Valentina’s story has taught us how important is it to follow our guru’s advise and to trust Him one hundred percent because our guru will never hurt us.
This is an extraordinary story. In normal circumstances, Valentina can basically bid farewell to her handbag. But here, Dorje Shudgen once again showed us that if we have faith in him, diligent in his practice and keep a clean samaya with Guru, Dorje Shugden will always protect and guide the student without fail.

From this incident. I learned that Protector will always protect the student who learned dharma sincerely. Valentina is a very devoted student. She have helps Rinpoche is spreading the Dharma since she met Rinpoche years ago.
Protector have shown to us again that he is always around us to guide us, be with us whenever we need. Protector Dorje Shugden is very close to us always

This is a very good example of how a Dharma Protector can help us in dire times like this. Losing your belongings at an international airport is a disaster for a foreigner like Valentina and it would take a miracle to be able to have it returned unscathed. If it wasn’t Dorje Shugden, I could not find a better explanation.
Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden can do much much more than just helping us looking for lost items. He can guide us and hold our hands until we reach the firm ground of liberation. However, we need to do our part to ensure that he can assists us when we needed him the most. We need to have a clean and strong samaya with our Guru is the foremost. The Guru and Dharma Protector is very close and sometimes the Guru will assign a Dharma Protector to a fellow student. It will be very hard for the Dharma Protector to aid in your problems when you have a broken samaya with your guru. It is not logical to disobey your Guru and then ask help from the Dharma Protector that he assigned you.
Secondly, we need to keep a close bond with our dharma protector with doing our sadhana everyday without missing out. This is like calling the Dharma Protector everyday and keeping a close connection. So, when we are in need of his swift assistance, he can easily help us.
Valentina must had did her part well and when she calls for Dorje Shugden’s assistance, it will be very effective.

I strongly believe that it because of your good samaya with your Guru and your prayers being heard by the protector. Rinpoche said before if we don’t have a clean samaya the Protector would not able help us. This is not because the protector doesn’t want to help us but we don’t have the merits for the protector to help us. I agree with this logic as we are in control of what we want the result to be. If we are consistent with our dharma work and do not keep collecting negative karma but instead accumulate more merits from our virtuous act from benefiting others we would able to get help from the protector as we created the substance or causes for him to help us.

Valentina tells a story or a miracle that many of us have witnessed or experienced personally. With trust and faith in our Guru and Protector, there are miracles, miracles do happen.
To lost and found your personal belongings in an international airport with so many people in and out, is more or less like finding a needle in a deep ocean. But it happens to Valentina. Valentina has strong faith in her Guru and Protector, she initiated Yayasan Kechara Indonesia to help the poor and those in need. Yayasan Kechara Indonesia, as a non-profit organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty. Yayasan Indonesia grows over the years and has benefitted many. They feed the poor, sponsored students and provide medical for the urban poor.

An International airport like Kuala Lumpur Intertional Airport is somewhat like a little city itself and losing a handbag in such a huge place like that is really a nightmare and most of the time sadly, due to human greed, a passer by would be irresponsible and keep the valuable contents themselves.
It is quite surprising that Ms.Janice Chong found your bag and went the extra mile to return the handbag to you when she could have just easily drooped it off at the Information counter.
This must have been the work of Dorje Shugden working behind the scenes to ensure you get your handbag back.
This proves the miraculous powers of Dorje Shugden to be able to have kept your bag safe while it was away from you and making sure you got it back.

Miracles can happen when you least expect it and most of the time you really need one.
As of now the rate of crime in Malaysia is quite high, thus it is a real dream come true that the handbag could be found with not a single thing missing from the bag.
Dorje Shugden can make all sort of miracles a reality, from an accident to financial difficulties, you name it it the miracle can happen. As long as you have faith in Dorje Shugden anything can happen. Don’t forget that you may not notice the miracles, lets say that you are on the way to somewhere for an important meeting, but you miss the turning that will take you to the place so you have to take a longer route. But later you find out that a billboard had fell on to that road at about the same time as you missed the turning.
Remember Dorje Shugden can manifest in any forms any place or anything, so as long as you really believe in Dorje Shugden everything is covered.
In this time and age in this country crime rates are high. It is indeed a miracle that a nice handbag filled with so much precious and valuable items left in a public area can be retrieved with all the items intact !! Thank you Valentina for your sharing and I am happy for you that you didn’t loose your valuable items. Thank you to the Protector for always looking out for all of us ! It’s also great to know that there are still good samaritans out there who are honest !!

This is truly a miracle!
For me, when I lose something, especially in such a public place (probably the most public a place can get) like an airport, its done forever and there is no hope of finding again. But this wasn’t the case in this situation. Valentina’s handbag was found, which is actually very unlikely.
Any other person would have found the handbag and kept it for their own selfish needs. Whether it be to sell it or simply steal the items within the handbag. But Ms Janice and her boss were extremely kind and compassionate for doing what they did. It is not easy to find people like them in this world.
Although the kindness and awareness of Ms Janice and her boss may play a large role in the recovery of the handbag, I would say that Dorje Shugden would have also had an impact. Because Valentina was constantly praying to Dorje Shugden for the safe return of her bad, Dorje Shugden probably heard her prayers and helped her.
Valentina’s experience is proof that when one has guru devotion and has faith in one’s protector, miracles do happen. Not only did Valentina get her handbag back, she received kindness from all the people she met and the help that she needed.

In this day and time it’s quite hard to find someone decent.
But due to Valentina’s faith in her protector Dorje Shugden her handbag is returned to her with everything intact. I don’t think this is luck. This is the merits she has accumulated by her faith and loyalty to her Guru ~Tsem Rinpoche and Protector Dorje Shugden.
This is her good karma. This is how the Protector helps us in times of need.
