Baby Marici

Baby Marici

Being Rinpoche’s personal attendant means that I am able to witness real Dharma in action, both on and off the throne. I consider myself extremely fortunate, and at the same time it is also a great challenge to instil Dharma in my life 24/7.

Over the years I have witnessed many cases of how Rinpoche helped many people in both worldly and supramundane ways, so I decided to have these stories told in comic form for the wider audience. It is my wish that through these stories many will be inspired to achieve the state of compassion and attainments like Tsem Rinpoche, so that many more sentient beings can be helped.

Pastor Loh Seng Piow

These was one of the many miraculous cases of how Rinpoche has helped. As we learn and practice dharma sincerely, we may received the blessings from guru and to be protected from any harm.
Through the blessings of Rinpoche, Marici was able to overcome her problem and get well again. Thank you very much for the sharing.

  2. Lin Mun on Feb 8, 2020 at 9:01 pm

Rejoice for Marici and parents as they managed to overcome the problem with the guidance of Rinpoche. Disturbance like this can happen to anyone when the karma with of the person and the unseen being ripen. Rinpoche has helped many people to resolve their obstacles and this is only one of the many miracle stories. Thank you Pastor Seng Piow for putting this story into comic form and so many can understand it easily.

Its a miracle …..have faith and trust in our Guru has helped Cynthia ‘s Marici to recovered from unseen disturbance. As we learn and practice dharma sincerely, we may received the blessings from guru and to be oprotected from any harm.Cynthia did followed all instructions and guided by Rinpoche, there’s no more disturbance. How fortunate Cynthia to have met Rinpoche at that time and Marici is now a healthy happy girl. These was one of the many miraculous cases of how Rinpoche has helped.
Thank you Pastor Loh Seng Piow for sharing .

  4. Stella Cheang on Apr 26, 2017 at 5:50 pm

Thank you, Pastor Seng Piow, for the illustrated miracle story on how Rinpoche guided Cynthia and Marici away from danger through protector’s practice. The unseen exist, whether we like it or not. Some of them are malicious and have the affinity or karma with some of us. Hence they can cause harm and disturbance. By engaging in Protectors’ practice like Dorje Shugden and Setrap that have been practiced by the high lamas of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, we are protected and guarded against harm.

Rinpoche is compassionate and only want the best for us. His teachings are not meant to show off the power of the divines but offer us a way out from our desperate samsara conundrum that binds us from engaging in deeper spiritual practice. Rinpoche always teaches us to focus on mind transformation and Tsongkhapa practice. How fortunate we are to have met Rinpoche in this lifetime. We must not let this rare and precious opportunity go to waste.

    对新手妈妈而言面对新生儿的不适是非常苦恼的,因为不知道新生儿在哭闹什么。如果发生再半夜更会让新妈妈吓坏。所幸有仁波切的指点和协助。如今marici更是活泼可爱

Marici and her mother are very fortunate to have the blessings of Tsem Rinpoche. There are many miracles performed by Rinpoche, some not on this blog yet but they exist. Rinpoche always thinks about the welfare of others. He allows people to have faith in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.

This is not just a story… it is a true account of what happened to this family when their beloved daughter was born.

I know Cynthia personally, and she have told me this story/experience to me. I’m glad that everything is ok for Cynthia and Marici.

Thank you Seng Piow to draw another amazing story from Rinpoche,It is so fortunate that Cynthia and Marici have meet Rinpoche. May Marici always be blessed by the Three Jewels.

  12. Joy on Dec 17, 2012 at 11:00 pm

When I was young, I used to hear of such miracle stories and used to be so amazed by them. What was so amazing was the existence of negative and positive energies, spirits, gods etc. These type of stories not only tells us we are not alone, hence if there is evil, there is also good. But reading or hearing such stories is totally different from actually knowing those very people encountering them, and of course knowing who Rinpoche is. And to many of us older students… this is not uncommon, though Rinpoche would never ever say, promote himself, or boasts of sure abilities, we all know, cos we’ve seen it! (So Thank you Seng Piow to create this cartoon to illustrate and share these real stories with others).

Over the past 10 years, I’ve seen Rinpoche help people with spirit possession, black magic charmed, kidnapping cases, lost child cases, death cases, and the list just goes on! Basically all that Rinpoche has done and is still doing is just selflessly, with no agenda, benefiting someone, some times even other formless beings of other realms…. sometimes Rinpoche would chant and blow mantra on a tree on a statue even. This is not a myth, not a hoax, these beings do exists and these stories true.

We are fortunate to cross path with Rinpoche, not because He can do “miracles” but because he gave us the “miracle” Dharma… and from there we’ve learnt so much about doing good and helping others. Because of Rinpoche kindness, we have Kechara and Cynthia Ng has a place to come to, to find Rinpoche and to get help.

Imagine if there was no Rinpoche, no Kechara… I wonder who would Cynthia have seeked… a bomoh? And how would baby Marici be today?

  13. Cynthia Lee on Dec 17, 2012 at 12:15 am

There are many people who love their kids to bits and would have probably faced the same situation without knowing what is wrong and without much help. Cynthia is very fortunate to have Rinpoche to advice because she is dedicated to dharma. However, we should share this information to everyone so that others can also benefit from her miraculous experience. Miracles do happen!

  14. verontung on Dec 15, 2012 at 8:08 pm

I can imagine how grateful for Cynthia for rinpoche to help when she’s very helpless. Thank you for rinpoche for always being so compassion and care for everyone. May Marici stay healthy and happy always.

  15. Wah Ying on Dec 13, 2012 at 3:33 pm

It’s so important to get a compassionate Guru when one encounter obstacle such as this. From newspaper and tv news we know they are so many who do not have the merits to meet the right person to solve their problem and end up with even more problems or problems become more complicated. In the process faith in your Guru is so important to overcome your obstacles.

Sometimes, obstacles in life could manifest as something positive – lead you to a better direction – such as start learning Dharma and know the way to change your life for better.

    • sweekeong on Dec 23, 2012 at 11:13 am

Even when meet with the right person who has the capacity to help us but we don’t have faith, trust, belief in him, we wouldn’t care to follow his instructions and prescriptions. I am glad Cynthia has faith on both herself and Rinpoche. As a result her daughter has recovered from her illness and disturbances.

  16. Lim (KH JB) on Dec 11, 2012 at 3:41 am

Rejoice to mummy Cynthia for follow 100% to Guru instructions and believe 100% to protector hence get the 100% result. May ur daughter and whole family always protect by 3 jewels…

Being a mother, I understand that what Cynthia has gone through has not been easy. It is so good to see that Marici has grown into a healthy cute little girl she is now, made possible by Rinpoche’s care and blessings. Thank you Rinpoche for helping Marici overcome her problems.

  18. joey wong on Dec 10, 2012 at 7:56 pm

Cynthia Ng is really lucky to have encountered Rinpoche. I could not have imagine what would have happened to Marici had she not have met Rinpoche as such behavior cannot be explained by doctors or by any secular means. Rinpoche’s advice and care is amazing!

  19. grace (KHJB) on Dec 10, 2012 at 6:34 pm

Glad to know that now Marici is ok now. it was pain of heart if we don’t know how to help our love one .It was fortunate to be able to receive Rinpoche’s guidance and Cynthia perform it without any hesitation and doubt . the result is the prove of miracle of Tsem Rinpoche .

  20. Cynthia Ng on Dec 9, 2012 at 10:51 pm

Yes this story recall back when i became a mother with full of joy welcome a healthy baby girl. But i din’t expect my baby girl has to go through a serious disturbances and this made me panic and scared. But We are fortunate to meet Rinpoche and Rinpoche has very compassionate gave us clear instructions to follow and completed it.

I know many cases like this happen everywhere in the world but we are very fortunate to meet a Guru when Marici in critical. I can’t imagine what will happen to Marici if we din’t receive Rinpoche’s instructions to clear Marici’s disturbances. Rinpoche helps us all the way with cares.

“What ever Rinpoche has requested, let it be done”- for me the meaning of this sentences more than that, We must have strong Guru devotion.

Thank you Rinpoche for the loves and cares. Thank you Seng Piow written all the true story to inspire many peoples by Rinpoche tirelessly dharma work. These stories are showing Rinpoche dharma work behind the scene.

May Rinpoche long life, good health and always turn the wheel of dharma to benefits ten directions of sentient beings.

  21. Low ksjc on Dec 9, 2012 at 9:45 pm

Thank you Seng Piow for the sharing.Cynthia was very fortunate to be able to meet up with Rinpoche to clear the disturbance for dear little Marici. It was through faith in our Rinpoche that Cynthia could over come her obstacles.
We rejoice to see Marici growing up to be a happy child with the knowledge of Dharma at a early age.

  22. Lim Han Nee on Dec 9, 2012 at 4:18 pm

Marici is fortunate that her mum, Cynthia, was a student of Rinpoche when she was born.Through the blessings of Rinpoche, she was able to overcome her problem and get well again. Cynthia followed Rinpoche’s instructions and she was able to do it repeatedly saying every time that ” Whatever Rinpoche has requested, let it be done”. After a while, the problem miraculously disappeared.

This is yet another instance of the power of Rinpoche’s great compassion. Cynthia is now a full-time staff of KH, and in this way, she is repaying Rinpoche’s kindness to her.

  23. Albert Ratchaga on Dec 9, 2012 at 10:22 am

Cases like this happen everywhere in the world every time, some are fortunate to get a spiritual teacher’s help and some not.

Marici is the fortunate one because of her mother being in Dharma, serving others, she created the causes for Marici to get helped.

Tsem Rinpoche is very caring and compassion, he cares for everyone as equal, whenever he knows someone in trouble, he will not just sit there and see, he will do everything to help.

Yes, working in DHarma may not bring you great monetary fortune, but working in Dharma bring you peace of mind, it helps solve many of our problems that not money can solve.

“Rather be unhappy doing Dharma than happy not doing Dharma” ~~ Tsem Rinpoche

  24. MayOng on Dec 8, 2012 at 9:16 pm

Rinpoche’s compassion touches everyone who has been helped by him. Cynthia is a hard working full-time staff in Kechara House, strong, friendly and cheerful. She follows Rinpoche’s instruction via her strong devotion to him and his teachings.

Cute Marici, Cynthia and her family are fortunate to meet the dharma for they must have created the karma and merit to receive blessings from the Buddhas.

  25. Milly on Dec 7, 2012 at 11:45 pm

Marici is blessed to have mummy Cynthia who practices Dharma and have Rinpoche as her compassionate lama. With faith and sincerity, Cynthia followed Rinpoche’s instructions and was able to solve the worrying problem of Marici unexplained non-stop crying. A cute baby who has grown up to a cute little girl. May Marici always be blessed by the Three Jewels.

  26. Martin on Dec 7, 2012 at 11:21 pm

It is very good that Seng Piow documents all the miraculous deeds that Rinpoche has performed. While Rinpoche shows by example how we can improve ourselves even on a mundane level (which no doubt aids in our spiritual learning), transform our minds and live compassionately, Rinpoche would not speak of his spiritual feats, claiming instead that he has no special attainments. This and many other stories show how humble Rinpoche is.

Baby Marici is no longer a baby now and has grown up nicely, and Cynthia now works full time at Kechara. Marici can happily look forward to a life in Dharma.

  27. patsy on Dec 7, 2012 at 12:51 am

Cynthia is very lucky to receive instructions from Rinpoche and it is her faith and devotion to Rinpoche that she followed the instructions without hesitation. Marici has grown to be such a cute girl. May Marici and her family be blessed by the Three Jewels:)

Then at that night Cynthia told me Marici become more calm and can sleep very well. That is incredible! And this is a real story which happened in front of me.

I did not know this happened to poor baby Marici before. 🙁 Thank Buddha for Rinpoche! Cynthia is also lucky to be able to so near the Guru when she needed help. Glad to know that she is okay now. 🙂

Baby Marici is so cute! She has grown so much since the last time i saw her! KP & KC team went up to Genting for a short outing once and baby Marici was there as well. I enjoyed playing with her and ‘bribing’ her with lollipops. hehe!

Thank you for you kindessas always, Rinpoche!

  37. Sheryl KH (JB) on Dec 5, 2012 at 1:34 pm

This story amazes me. I am amazed by especially by the line given by Rinpoche – “Whatever that Rinpoche has instructed, let it be done”. I feel that there are more to this line, but maybe Rinpoche just made it so simple for Cynthia but behind this line Rinpoche was doing a lot himself to help this situation.

I am glad that Cynthia is doing dharma work full time to repay Rinpoche’s kindness to her.

  38. wei theng on Dec 5, 2012 at 12:02 pm

Marici has now grown to a very cute and happy girl. Rinpoche has very compassionate to give the instructions for clearing the disturbance of Marici. I believe, with this reason, Cynthia is very grateful to Rinpoche and creating the cause for her to works full time in Kechara House. I always see her with a smiling face in KH. Rinpoche and Protector help us a lot in clearing our obstacle and be closed to our Guru and at the same time can advance more in our spiritual journey.

Rejoice to see that with Marici’s case, it also draws Cynthia and family closer to Dharma.

May Marici and family be happy and always be with Buddha Dharma and Rinpoche.

Ancient civilization of China already embraced Vajrayogini lineage long before where Mahayana Buddhism was prevalent. Interesting history of Vajrayogini’s teachings and practice that takes root in China . The practice of Vajrayogini is so deep rooted in China not till I know of until I read this post. It is also a really eye opening for me. The Western Xia empire Xixia was one of the three great barbarian empires ruling over northern China during the Song period. A land of myths and mysteries, monks and monasteries, the enchanting nation of happiness . There is that many rocks and cave formations around empire Xixia. The Vajravarahi/Yogini Cave (Dorje Phagmo Cave) is one such caves. Having a beautiful story behind it . This cave is well known after Vajrayogini reincarnated in human form and her four other dakinis performed tantric rituals. Recording to records this caves dates back to 1004 AD, that’s incredible indeed. Since then many Tibetan high lamas such as Sakya Pandita and 6th Dalai Lama had visited this cave doing retreats and prayers. The 6th Dalai Lama even erected a stupa in the cave.
With the Chinese government help the cave is restored to this present day. Having Vajrayogini manifested as a princess in China to suit the people of that time and culture. May this cave be well preserved for the Vajrayogini practice to flourish in China.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing of a special form of Vajrayogini found in China.

Tara Arya Tara, also known as Jetsun Dolma in Tibetan Buddhism, is an important figure in Buddhism. She appears as a female bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism who appears as a female Buddha. She is the mother of liberation, and represents the virtues of success through liberating us from our 8 fears such as pride, ignorance, anger, jealousy, wrong views, attachment, miserliness and deluded doubts. She will guides us to enlightenment. Beautiful paintings of the 8 Tara with each thangkas illustrate who protect us from the 8 fears. Interesting to see how each and every thangka can illustrate us a thousands words . Knowledgeable write up about 8 Taras and the 8 fears for us to understand better of Tara.

The Third Trijang Rinpoche, Lobsang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso was a Gelug Lama and a direct disciple of Pabongkhapa Déchen Nyingpo. He was one great lama working tirelessly for the benefit of all sentient beings. Many practitioners had indeed benefited from his teachings. He did travelled tremendously in India and internationally giving teachings in monasteries and giving empowerments in countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany and so forth. Beautiful biography of a great lama who’s most famous work is undoubtedly Liberation in the Palm of the Hand which is still use till this day.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing of a great lama.

Beautiful sharing of Dr. Andrea Galli’s article, with important advice for the Tibetan leadership to consider it. Its time for them to change their views and thinking of ways to benefit the Tibetans instead of politicking the long over due Dorje Shugden controversy. Dalai Lama has stated openly that he wish to return to China, hence the leadership should fulfil Dalai Lama and many Tibetans in-exile wishes. Tibetans have been living in India for the past 60 years , it time for them to be move on to think for the future generations and not depending on USA and India or any other countries. In China , those who had remained there felt happier as China allow religious freedom with many Tibetans practicing Dorje Shugden. The Tibetan leadership working closely with China government for the benefit of all Tibetans as China if they really to want peace, harmony , growth of their country and the preservation of religion and culture for the Tibetans. Incredible achievements and accomplishments of a great Lama . Lama Thubten Phurbu is one extraordinary intelligence Lama since young. A prominent Gelug lama, is highly respected for bringing Dorje Shugden’s practice and spreading Je Tsongkhapa’s tradition to many people in Tibet. Being outspoken about the benefits of this practice, many monasteries had invited him to consecrate Dorje Shugden tenkhangs , perform Dorje Shugden pujas, and give talks about Dorje Shugden in monasteries throughout Tibet. Lama Thubten Phurbu lives a simple life, spending his time on virtuous and beneficial Dharma works such as building stupas, making statues, printing Dharma books, supporting the poor and needy. Interesting read.
    Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.

Humans must know that animals did not come into being to serve or provide for them. Animals too need to be protect against the suffering they undergo of losing their lives and loved ones. The protection is only possible if we realize that animals have valve beyond what they offer.

The pictures of the puppy lying next to his mother are so heart-wrenching. We never considered the impact of these actions on the animals involved. We need to take vital steps to cut thoughtless cruelty to animals out of your life and to educate others around you.

Thank you for the thoughtfulness sharing and bring us awareness to all animals lovers that never abandon them through thick and thin gives them love and care.

From this article , I have a better understanding now the purpose of pujas. For the puja to be powerful and effective one must have a good motivation and compassion mind to benefit others.
As usual, Rinpoche’s teaching is always simple yet has a deep meaning in it. For someone lazy and slow like me have to read a few times to understand and remember.Thank you very much for sharing this post

I believe that all animals are just like humans. This includes anything from feelings to suffering with pain. As such, it should be the moral obligation of human beings to take this fact into account whenever they consider taking actions that would interfere with the needs of animals.

Animals and humans both in common have great power and they able to achieve great things. We should find ways to control fear towards animals and prevent anxiety from taking hold.

Thanking you for your thoughtfullness sharing and being kind to animals.

Reading this article on Lama Zopa’s view on Dorje Shugden practice gives us a clear understanding . Lama Zopa Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist scholar and meditator . He is a Gelugpa lineage holder, having received teachings from many of the great Gelugpa masters. He gave a very good advice for students on Dorje Shugden practice. Guru devotion is the key to gaining spiritual attainments. Lama Zopa did mentioned that once we have made a Dharma connection with our Guru, we cannot simply give up this relationship unless the Guru told us to give up. Well regardless of whether a lama practises Dorje Shugden or not, we need to apply the rule, is the practice of Guru Devotion for sure. Letting whatever be nor matter what instance, we should not speak negatively against Dorje Shugden or about other Gurus. A good advice and profound teachings.
Thank you Rinpoche and Choong for this interesting sharing.

In life we will be facing lots of negative things from others. never mind right or wrong, true or false, I must learn how to take it or see it as a positive steps for our personal improvement and growth.

The 7 great methods in above are not just to cope with insult but advise, comment & opinion from others toward ourselves. Insults and criticism follow us everywhere, so learn with great patience to use them as a guide to self improvement .

His writing style is clear and direct, added with his personal experiences, thoughts and direct realizations at that point of time. I am fond of reading those past masters’ writings as opposed to the modern ones.
John Blofeld spiritual journey and his affinity so strong in Buddhism are really showed that he had a very strong connection to Buddhism in his previous life.Thank you very much for sharing this article.

Revisit this post again. Thank you Valencia for this vast post of Loed Tsongkhapa’s life story and his achievements . Lama Tsongkhapa is a “Buddha of our times” in the Gelug Vajrayana tradition and as an enlightened being, having the same realizations as all of the Buddhas. He was an emanation of Avalokitesvara , Manjushri , and Vajrapani , hence his practice is so powerful and beneficial. We have to thank our Lama Tsem Rinpoche for bringing this practice to Malaysia. Many great gurus, lamas and teachers has been teaching this very powerful, yet accessible practice across the globe. We are very fortunate and blessed to practice all the teachings. As for me I am still learning ,reading this post had strengthen my belief. Love reciting Migtsema as its very beneficial indeed. Interesting read very profound Lama Tsongkhapa biography.
    Thanks again .

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

Thanks to the effort of our outstation team, we were able to mobilise food provisions to 600 families living in Kelantan, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor during the Raya period with each of these families receiving RM200 worth of provisions. Adding onto the current 368 families in Klang Valley, a total of 968 families were benefitted from this. Special thanks to the sponsors who have contributed especially Hong Leong Foundation and partially from Tesco Malaysia (where we also ordered the provisions from). ~ Vivian @ Kechara Soup Kitchen

More photos taken from our "Hari Raya Hampers" distribution this week. Making sure everyone of our clients have something to be cheerful about. Apart from food, daily used items such as hygiene products, kitchen utensils, assorted fabric items, stationary items and toys were also included into our hamper bags making it extra heavier this month! Food items alone were about 35kg per family! Taking this opportunity to wish everyone of our Muslim volunteers, friends, supporters and clients a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Maaf Zahir Batin. No doubt this year's celebration will be very different but appreciate everyone is safe and protected from the pandemic. We are in this together and let's work to fight this pandemic together! Thanking all sponsors and donors for the generous support enabling us to continue serve the needy with food, love and care.
