Please share this incredible story. It touches me to the core and breaks my mind to think why? Short and touching. Very sad and heartbreaking but also uplifting to see this being so loyal. I wish this dog was here in Malaysia and I would take her in immediately.

PLEASE SHARE. This is the saddest story=Not sure how anyone could possibly do this. This baby’s family left her and just drove off and she will not leave the yard. Clearly thinks they are coming back. There is a police officer who is feeding her but the city will pick her up before long and she does not need to be in the fort worth shelter. Female about 3 years old I am told. Very sweet and good with other dogs- just will not leave the house or yard. If you are a lab rescue or know of someone please let me know. From Kathy Lakatta

This is really sad. Why would people just leave their pet like this. Even if they really can’t bring him along, the family can find a good place for him and not leave him behind. And poor doggie is waiting for the owner to come home. A very selfish family.
Dogs are men best friends…..heartbreaking to see that doggie been left alone . So royal guiding the house even there is no one left. She might have thought the owner gone for vocation or some sort. How could the owner do such a thing at least give away to someone. Animals have feelings too like human, they needs hugs,love and caring too.
Never abandon our friends whatever happen,once we took them under our care we are resposible for them nor matter what ..old or sick. Give them love and do not harm them.
We should practise loving kindness towards every living being.Animals need our sympathy.

Poor doggie… how could her owner abandon her just like that? This doggie has shown incredible loyalty towards her previous family, how could they stand seeing this man? I really do not understand how their minds work, they could at least just send her to a shelter or ask around the neighborhood if anyone’s willing to take her in, not just dumping her like that! I’ve heard of a similar story from my aunty today, she was saying that there’s this dog in Thailand, it was also abandoned by its owner, and it just will not leave the spot no matter if its raining heavily or not, as if its hoping for the stonehearted owner to come back and bring it home. It really breaks my heart when I hear stories like this, even animals are more loyal and appreciative than most of the humans are. Why can’t some people just understand that animals have feelings too?! Only if we put ourselves into their shoes, then we’ll realise that they are not just any senseless beings. I hope that someday all of us may live together peacefully and happily.
This is such a poor dog… she obviously loves her owners so much that that she will not leave the yard. Thats what i love about dogs, even though you don’t give them as much love and care as they need, they will still throw their love at you. Not that I don’t love my dogs, but I love that about them.
I love animals so much that when I see cases like this it makes me so sad and I really want to go to that dog and just be there for him and provide him with things like, if I could, a home, or help him to find one. People like this, on the other hand, make me sick. When you bring a pet home, they become family and you cannot abandon family. EVER. So give them your time and your love, Because they won’t be around forever. They love you until the end of time and you should return the favor.
Like Rinpoche said in one of his other blog posts: You are their only world, because when you go out, they wait for you and when you scold them, they feel so guilty and sad for what they did. They express more emotion towards you in the best ways that you can never return. Because when you are outside doing what you do, they are at home waiting for you to come home. So although they are a small part of your life, you are the highlight of theirs. SO NEVER ABANDON YOUR FAMILY.
This is so heartbreaking, how could the family be so irresponsible? How could they just left the poor doggie all alone, wandering in the yard? And don’t they feel guilty at all when they see this? Although she’s abandoned but she still believed that her ‘family’ will come back and get her. Animals can get depression as well, she could have get that and die heartbroken. It’s a life here, hope she get a good family that will take care of her.
唉！可怜的小狗，被搬迁走的主人遗弃，还忠心耿耿的在门外等着主人回来。主人啊！狗狗也是有灵性和感情呀。它们也懂得有责任爱护主人和家园。它们对主人的忠诚和承若永远不变。唉！ 难道这主人的心还不如这狗狗。谢谢仁波切给我们的分享。
真的很让人难过，为什么要这样对待狗狗？我们人类有自己的世界，朋友，工作，娱乐等等。。。可是狗狗的世界只有你，它等你下班陪她，等你带它溜达，你狠狠的打了它它还是永远对你服从。别忘了他有锋利无比的牙齿，打它时他可以攻击你。可是它没有！所以人类请爱惜它，养它那天起就要对它负责和爱护。
This is so sad and poignant. The poor dog is probably missing the family members especially the younger members who would come out to play with him. It’s incredible how loyal dogs can be and how much this quality is inherent in them but not so within humans. It’s really sad but the truth is that people just go on objectifying pets like dogs and treat them like mere plastic toys, to be discarded when they are no longer needed or when they get too old. If human beings can do it to animals, they can also and will also do it to those closer to them because dogs just give love while a human companion or relative would require much more. If its so hard to give and provide for a pet as loyal as a dog, how could they maintain relationships with people? It’s simple logic and a painfully clear state of the selfishness inherent in human beings. Fortunately, we have the Dharma to point this out and away to rectify this.
Animals can sometimes be more loyal than human beings too, appreciate the good qualities in animals.
Dear Rinpoche,
Though this story may be short it is really heartbreaking to know that the family just left their loyal dog in the yard while the left and yet this very very loyal dog just stood there at the yard waiting for it’s masters to return.
It must have been really sad for the dog to know that he/she is now an homeless dog and I hope that this loyal dog would soon be adopted by kind people.
Yes, I really too hope that this dog was in Malaysia too so that people such as Rinpoche could adopt he/she and give her a good home and all the love and care.

Goes to show to what extend the loyalty of an animal especially a dog can have for us ungrateful humans. Truly despicable how they can leave the poor dog. Leaving her was one thing… how can they even live with the conscience of how she would live, what she would eat, the agony of losing her “family” and just being left stranded… waiting for a return that will never be!
To just abandon such loyalty is sad and selfish. On the flip side of this whole situation, what did the poor dog do in her previous lives to deserve this I wonder? Karma is scary and very fair!
Dogs are always pure in their mind with stong memories and whosoever treats them well, they will remember forever. It’s very sad for this dog as she keeps on waiting for her owner to come back and pick her up. i feel sorry for her owner as this act of abandoning her, will put the dog’s owner in a very bad karma. i pray for this dog to have a good rebirth and connect back to Buddha with many blessings and teachings in her future lifetimes.
This is terrible! Such a poor little thing, being so loyal to her family waiting everyday at the yard for them to come back. It always breaks my heart to see animals show more compassion, love and loyalty as compared to humans. We really need to evaluate ourselves looking at stories like this. I really wish the family didn’t leave her there, Rinpoche is right I too wouldn’t have left her there waiting like that, i really hope she finds a new better family who would love her the way she deserves to be loved. I saw this on facebook, thank you for sharing this story Rinpoche, hopefully this awareness would reach the family’s attention and come back to realise the huge mistkane they had done.

So touching. She is so loyal, she will not leave the yard thinking that they will come back. Hope she will find a good home with new family who will take care of her.
It was sad to know this story. Wishing the little dogs can be adopted by a kind person who really care for him. All animaks deserve our care and respect.
When we plan to take in a pet ,we should have the responsibility to care for it till the end as we do with a companion.
It shows very clearly that the dog take on its owner very seriously .A bond that is very difficult to break.How heartless the owner could be in abandoning his loyal pet dog.
A lot of us take relationships between humans or animals very lightly.It shows lack of commitment and selfishness .We tend to compromise when there is a misunderstanding due to our immature thinking due to wrong views.
I hope the poor dog is fortunate to be adopted soon.I am sure it would be a very loyal family pet dog.
This story proof again dogs are really loyalty to his own master ! But how could the dog’s owner just abandoned her just like that!! Animals are no different with human,they have feeling same like us,they need care and love too !!Please respect them,not harm them.
People who don’t treasure what they have in life will eventually lose every of the good things in life. Pets can be the best companion, and no matter how, once we have them, we should take care them from the start till the end. Having a pet is a life long commitment, is like having a child in life.
Those who just dump their pets without any concern are too self-centered. They just think for themselves and ignore the welfare of their pets. Animals unlike human can survive by their own in the human’s world where we called ‘city’, they need help and care. Once we give them care and love, they will be dependent on us without any other choices, then we have to do the same till the end, if not they will be suffered. We have to understand this before having a pet and be a responsible owner. They deserve love that is consistent and never change, just like us.

Do you abandon your children or other family members if they are a burden to you or when you’re no longer ‘able’ to look after them? Sadly, I know us cruel humans would.. Heartbreaking.
Sometimes an animal can display human qualities( I.e loyalty and unconditionally love) better than us humans and we are supposed to be the ‘intelligent’ species and on top of the food chain. Truly sad!

This is so sad. To be abandoned n yet to be waiting for her family to come back. I really hope that a new family will quickly move in and love her as their own.
It is just amazing how some animals can have such levels of loyalty towards their owners. However, it is just saddening to see how a family can just abandon their dog that has been there for them for how ever long no matter what happens. And they have just given up on the dog like this.
In my opinion they should not even have a pet in the first place if they are not willing to take the extra responsibility. And when they get tired of their pets, they just discard the pets like a piece of rubbish. How could even anyone do this?!
Ya .. it’s heart broken to see cases like this happening every where. People just dumped their pets just like that.. such a royal dog but they left her just like that. Sad.
Itś so saddening to know that there are such people around — raising pets in their family and just conveniently leaving them behind when they decide to pack up and leave. They never gave a thought as to how the poor doggie will fend for itself – yes, it may become a stray, but does not all those years you spent with it mean something? Did you not receive its love? Warmth? Companionship? HOw could you do this?

Dogs has always been man’s best friend. They are just in a form of animal and cannot speak our language, but they are also a living beings who has all senses like we do. I believe the faithfulness and loyalty of a dog is undeniable, this picture says it all. Why should we let animals suffer in the name of fun, entertainment or even profit?
The Buddhist Scripture did advised, so did other religions; ” Let him not destroy any life at all, or sanction the acts of those who do so. Let him refrain from even hurting any creature, both that are strong and those that tremble in this World.” As a buddhist practicioner, one must always be aware of the universal law of the force of karma, which perpetuates the cycle of cause-and-effect. This is something we should take seriously, especially in our attempt to bring peace, harmony and unity into the troubled World. To ill-treat animals and inflict purposeless sufferings and pain on them, is and an exhibition of sadism which moralists must denounce. It is one of those things we need to consider seriously if we want to improve the world, and save our “poor souls”.
I echo what Sharon said..it is shameful that we humans can be so heartless. Poor dog must be waiting and waiting for her owner to return without knowing that she has been abandon. Animals have feelings too and they too have the rights to co-exist with us. They also want to be love just like us. Be kind to animals.
How can anyone, pack up their things and leave their dog behind when they’re moving house??? That is so ridiculous! It’s like taking your kid to the mall and accidentally left him there… How horrible can people be…
It’s lucky that this kind lady took notice of this poor dog when many other people would have just drove past her and not do anything. The lady that sent a plea on FB for this beautiful dog to be rescued, managed to give this dog a second chance and a second family.
It is my understanding that this dog was adopted by a new family. Hope that she will be better taken care of in her new found family, and that’s all thanks to one picture, and a sincere lady that wants to help the dog.
Its really sad that the dog was there for a year without a place to call home. But I am happy to know that there are a lot of people waiting to adopt her and there are people going through the applications to see who are the ones that qualify. Its really uplifting to read that so many people care and shared the thread. Yay!
Such a pity, why would someone doing this to a dog. Although animal might not speak but i am sure they have emotion and could feel and sense. As a human being we should treat animals with respect and responsible just as how we treat other fellows human.
Dogs are such trusting,loving and loyal beings! When we decide to buy them or adopt them, we must look after them to the best of our abilities. Even if we have real reasons for not being able to look after them anymore, we should not just abandon them. Find them another good home. These are such basic responsibilities !!
How could the dog owner be so heartless and irresponsible to the dog and just abandon her without thinking how she is going to survive on her own and yet this poor dog is so loyal and keep waiting there for the family to come back. Hope that someone can provide her a loving home and take good care of her.

That dog is so loyal to his owner! This seems so unfair, being abandoned and still full of hope and love towards his owner. Later finding out that his owner had just left him all alone.
this is so sad and heartbreaking to know that this poor dog was abandoned and still thinks that his/her owner is coming back and is so loyal to stay on the yard being fed by strangers. this poor dog is so loyal to the wrong people. if i was the owner i definitely not abandon this poor dog. i hope he/she ends up okay, someone please help.
This was so sad and touching too, that this dog was so loyalty and keep waiting her owner come back to pick her up. Since the dog can be so loyalty, why not for human?

Wow, this story is amazing and so touching. I am so glad that Rinpoche decided to share this with us, i will try to spread this story out to as many people so they too, can be as touched as i am.
Hope that the dog will soon know that the family won’t be back and would get off the yard… I am also glad to now the police are feeding her. Wish there were more people like the police.

Such a irresponsibble act! How could we do this to this being who are so loyal is such a shame as a human who are so call much intelligent than a dog. I hope this little will get his new owner as soon as possible. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this news.
Poor little doggie, so loyalty to her family yet have to face the consequences that she doesn’t deserve. How can her owner just left her there alone? How can the owner be so heartless? And yet she still believes that her ‘family’ will come back and get her..so sad..
This is so sad. I remember the feeling when I was abandoned by my first father, it took me awhile to figure out that he wasn’t coming back for me. She must be confused as it all happened so fast. Such loyalty can only be found in animals. I wish that she will be adopted by a responsible family ASAP!
Poor dog.. how can her owners just abandon her? Dogs are well-known for their loyalty, and this dog will probably not leave that yard, just waiting for her owners to come back. It makes me embarrassed to be human. It is so necessary for people to learn that animals are not just to be abandoned when inconvenient. I hope this poor dog will bond with a new family who will care for her, otherwise the options for her are bleak – the pound or to stay in an abandoned house.
