From Tara!!

 Dear friends,

I was on tweets a few weeks back (‘meeting’ interesting people on tweets and generous too) talking about wanting to get the ten definitive bigfoot books of all time. Suddenly Tara tweeted me and offered to help me find them. Tara offered to go to used bookstores ( I prefer used books to save costs) in her area in the USA to scout around for me. I was thrilled and offered to reimburse her. I loved the used bookstores/stores in the USA. I use to go to them when I was there. Can find treasures! I found a great 16inch Buddha once!

Today a big beautiful box arrived with a whole bunch of books and a very sweet letter. So much care, love and genuine affection was put into the letter and box. Although the letter is private, I had to just blog it here to share with everyone. I have never met Tara and Tara does all this!!

It is so hard if never to find people who are interested in Bigfoot, UFO, Paranormal phenomena, Loch Ness, other dimensions, etc here where I live let alone find used books on it. Here I get a packet a books sent from around the world to my doorstep to add to the start of my paranormal library. I AM SO TOUCHED, FLABBERGASTED and MOVED. I placed the books in front of Manjushri and Buddha Tara to offer to them first and dedicate this generosity to the sender: Tara. I always do this with gifts.

You must read her letter. I love how much details she put into it so I would understand what are the contents. She thanks me to help me with my library-how humbling! I love all the books very much! I loved the Time Life books Mysteries of the Unknown. I love books like this and they are in such good condition too! Please thank James for his donation of books too. How kind. The bigfoot/paranormal and all the books I treasure very much. They will go into my library and I will digest them in time. Last but not least, I love the spontaneity of the effort involved in shopping for the items, packaging them, organizing them and sending them.

With folded hands, THANK YOU SO MUCH TARA FOR YOUR GIVING NATURE AND EFFORTS. I can’t overstress how touched I am.

I want to share this with everyone. I must share!

Tsem Rinpoche

Lessons to be learned:

There are many kind and generous people out there. Be kind to others no matter what. Send that energy out always.

There are people who appreciate the humble work we do and they reciprocate the appreciation. I will continue my work because if I can touch someone’s life, then it is all worth it!

And I will do more social media! LOL….there are benefits! (wink)

Look at all the books Tara sent me. Wow!! I appreciate them so much! I will be looking for more books on Bigfoot, paranormal etc, but this is a great start….

P.S. I sent some precious items from my heart to Tara, and below is the “thank you” video she made for me, very creative, how wonderful!

Rinpoche always loves stories of bigfoot, Yeti, UFO, Paranormal phenomena, and so forth from around the world. Rinpoche have not met Tara before, yet such a wonderful lady answering Rinpoche call. Sending a box of books for Rinpoche and added into Rinpoche’s paranormal library.

Tara is so sweet and caring! It’s really rare to see someone sending gifts to someone he/she have not met yet, Tara is the first person I know who does that. Tara is so observant as she knows that Rinpoche loves bigfoots and all other mystical stuffs. Great to know that someone actually cares.
    Thank You for sharing Rinpoche.

Oh wow, how nice of Tara to send Rinpoche these books even though she has not met Rinpoche. The way she listed down the titles and attached the explanations with it truly shows that she is a very thoughtful and detailed person.. How nice!

I agree Rinpoche, it’s pretty hard to find BigFoot enthusiasts here in Asia, whatmore here in Malaysia. But I am glad that Tara offered help and sent Rinpoche the books.

Thank you for being so thoughtful and kind, Tara. Hope to see you in Kechara soon!

    Thank you for sharing, Rinpoche!

  12. choisheem on May 5, 2013 at 11:41 pm

Thank you so much Miss Tara for your wonderful gift of books to Rinpoche. You have put in so much time and effort to locate the books that Rinpoche requested for the paranormal library. So much care and details were put into your gift in your letter when you gave a brief explanation to each of the books. Yet, you are being humble when you thank Rinpoche for allowing you to help build up the library. This experience really convinced myself of the magical power of social media being put to good use.

  13. Cliff on May 5, 2013 at 10:19 pm

Thos is absolutely beautiful, so much thought, care, patience and hard effort searching for these books to be bought, prepared and sent. It is such an amazing story, you can read complete sincerity in Tara’s letter. Tara’s books would be a fine collection to Rinpoche’s library and it would benefit to many people who get the chance to read it. Not having met Rinpoche yet going through such troubles not many people would do, you have my respect for your humble generosity. Well done Tara. Thank you for sharing with us this humble heart warming story Rinpoche.

  14. KYC on May 5, 2013 at 5:32 pm

Tara is very kind. I’m very touched by her generosity. It shows that there are people who would go out of their way to help others, with no agenda. The titles of the books are very interesting and I’m tempted to read some of them, to learn more about the paranormal world.

  15. AdelineTan on May 5, 2013 at 5:13 pm

Tara really spent her times and put in great efforts to go look for books Rinpoche wanted and also keen to help Rinpoche set up a library even though she has never met Rinpoche before. Thank you Tara for your generosity and love to help others, i rejoice.

  16. Andrew Boon on May 4, 2013 at 7:23 pm

I was blown away at the amazing finds that Tara found! They were indeed topics that Rinpoche loves and what makes it more amazing is most of these books are out of publication and even had some library cards dated back to 1960’s (such is the beauty of second hand book stores – one can find some true treasures).

What is even more amazing is that Tara found the time to look for alternative titles when she could not find the ‘elusive’ Bigfoot ones. And not only that, she actually catalogued and had a brief description of each book in her letter. This is truly dedication and such a heartwarming gift!

Thank you Tara for your most sincere offering to Rinpoche!

  17. sweekeong on May 4, 2013 at 3:39 pm

The states really is a land of books and paranormal. Prior to the Internet the way of communicating information is thru word of mouth, and the print ie magazine, books and newspaper. The topic of paranormal is wide enough that tons of books have been written on the subject from ancients to the aliens. Two themes always come up about paranormal events. If it involves something that cannot be explained it is either, the most likely, connected to aliens, or, lesser of a degree spirits. What I like about the books from the west are they are quite passionate about using scientific ways and methods to measure the paranormal activities as a proof.

  18. abby f on May 4, 2013 at 12:28 pm

Dear Tara, thank you for your care to Rinpoche! From the letter you wrote to Rinpoche and the books you’ve picked to send, you are really sending the books with your heart. I feel like you are sharing something you love with Rinpoche, as I see you send kids books too and you think kids books are fun, you sincerely wish to share with Rinpoche. Thank you for your care and kindness! Hope to hear from you again. Do come visit Kechara. 🙂

    Regards,
    Abby

  19. Albert Ratchaga on May 4, 2013 at 3:04 am

Wow, Tara you are very caring and lovely, you don’t only fulfill what you promised Rinpoche and yet, you even go beyond that to write down the details for Rinpoche easier to refer.

Rinpoche has always been very interested with all paranormal stories, but it is not easy to find it in Malaysia, thank you Tara for your thought and your effort to find these books for Rinpoche.

  20. Gim Lee on May 3, 2013 at 6:13 pm

On top of making the effort to find the books for Rinpoche, Tara is so thoughtful and put so much care in preparing the list of books she was sending over. The collection is really interesting and I am sure these books will provide rare information as well as joy to the readers when Rinpoche’s library is up.
Thank you Tara for being so kind and generous.

  21. henry ooi on May 3, 2013 at 4:41 pm

Generous and passionate, that’s how I would describe Tara. And just like Mother Tara, swift.

  22. tenzin llhamo on May 3, 2013 at 2:39 pm

Such a lovely person! Thank you Tara for helping Rinpoche to get the books! And I love how Tara actually categorized the books in the letter with much care. And she took the time to hunt for the books that Rinpoche likes. I am beginning to like 2nd hand shops! Its true… There are lots of treasures hidden! Thank you Rinpoche for the lovely post!

  23. Jutika Lam on May 3, 2013 at 1:50 pm

    Dear Rinpoche,

True indeed, how king of Tara to be so far away from Rinpoche and yet when she read Rinpoche’s Tweet she said that she would help.

I am touched how kind she is to take time just to go to the Used Book Stores around her area to look for Bigfoot books for Rinpoche’s Library

I am very glad that Rinpoche is happy with the books that Tara has so kindly offered to Rinpoche.

    Thank you Rinpoche for sharing!

    Love
    Jutika

Tara is very sincere and very pure in her mind, in her action and in her effort to deliver and present all the books to Tsem Rinpoche. She has offered her whole heartedly and truly wants the best for Rinpoche and everyone in Kechara. In her letter, i can see and hear as if she is explaining in front of Rinpoche face to face, she is very in the moment. Thank You Tara and Thank You Rinpoche.

Wow! Tara is such a generous person that we can all emulate from. She just known Rinpoche from Twitter and she was wiling to donate all those books and put in so much care and love into finding them! There is such thing as random acts of kindness in this world, and I am sure that Tara will not the be the only one that will be doing such nice things! Her story is encouraging indeed!

Thanks for sharing this story Rinpoche, so that we can all learn and emulate from her behavior. It is inspiring and refreshing indeed!

  28. Wan Wai Meng on May 2, 2013 at 10:16 am

Tara, these are amazing gifts to Rinpoche! I’m not surprised that Rinpoche loves them very much hehe…

It’s very kind of you to go scout around the bookstores in your area for paranormal books, it must have took quite awhile to find all these interesting reads!

Rinpoche mentioned many times how Rinpoche loves reading books since young and that when Rinpoche has time it is usually spent reading books of interest such as paranormal books or Dharma books =)

  31. David Lai on May 2, 2013 at 2:12 am

This is quite an extensive list of wonderful books you have there. Tara is really thoughtful with the list of books and gifts. I rejoice for the sincerity and the wonderful books do remind me of what a treasure trove second hand bookstores can be.

Too bad second hand bookstores in Malaysia are becoming rarer and harder to come back in Malaysia. There were a few good ones in Amcorp Mall before but its sad that they closed down. Many of the books there are rare ones that were either out of print or not easily available in the larger bookstores in Malaysia.

On the topic of bigfoot, not too many people here in Malaysia are into this aspect of the supernatural which is unfortunate. But I am glad there are many online avenues of acquiring books these days. Sadly that is limited too because not many of them are willing to send the books to Malaysia. Thank you Tara for being so thoughtful.

  32. Martin on May 2, 2013 at 12:46 am

What an incredible gift! Not just the books, but the Tara’s sincerity and effort in keeping her word to Rinpoche and I am quite sure Rinpoche treasures that very much. I remember Rinpoche expressing his appreciation when Tara offered to assist in getting the books over Twitter but to carry it out without delay and with such care and effort is something to be noted and admired. Just look at how Rinpoche is, in the picture.

Tara, I thank you very much for this gift of yourself to our Guru and I wish very much that one day soon you will come to know Rinpoche on a personal level and work closely with him to spread the Dharma. You are an inspiration and a good reminder of how precious our words are when given to others.

  33. KH Ng on May 2, 2013 at 12:44 am

Wow, Tara really is generous and actually delivers what she promises. Yes Rinpoche there are many generous people out there and we just need to reach out and be generous, be open and sincere. People are just waiting to reciprocate. This is a lesson in itself and Tara is the proof.

Thanks Tara for the kind, sincere and generous act and my you be touched by the blessings of Rinpoche and his gifts. I take this as an example and inspiration.

    With folded hands!

  34. Sharon Saw on May 2, 2013 at 12:37 am

Wow… what a wonderful gift from Tara.. you embody the compassionate and swift action of your namesake indeed! I rejoice very much that Tara thought that it is an honour to give these books to Rinpoche because Rinpoche expressed interest in them. It is not just the monetary aspect but the effort and time she put in to search for the books for Rinpoche.

Few people think this way and it shows that Tara does understand the value of Dharma and she appreciates Rinpoche’s teachings. i hope this will inspire many more people who benefit from Rinpoche’s teachings and Rinpoche’s blog to practice the teachings by being generous and kind without agenda.

  35. beatrix ooi on May 2, 2013 at 12:30 am

It is very caring and generous of Tara to send Rinpoche the books that Rinpoche likes to read. She’s a very good example to all of us, not just ‘sweet talk’ and do nothing. It must have been difficult to find those books, glad that she spent her time in the bookstores doing something great.
I have also just bought the book titled ‘The Lovely Bones’, it’s a very nice book.
Thank You for sharing Rinpoche and I hope that Rinpoche will enjoy reading the books which Tara has kindly sent.
    Love, beatrix.

  36. patricia on May 2, 2013 at 12:28 am

Ahhh I wish I had known. I could have directed her to our own local bigfoot called the Fouke Monster. There’s a film about it too, called the Legend of Boggy Creek. I’ll see if I can find a copy.

  37. edward ooi on May 2, 2013 at 12:25 am

Wow! Tara never even met Rinpoche before and yet she know a lot about Rinpoche through Rinpoche’s blog articles and she would buy 22 Paranormal books which is the article that Rinpoche loves. I think Tara did this for Rinpoche maybe because of Tara is very interested in Rinpoche teachings. May Tara have a good health and long life.

  38. Joy on May 2, 2013 at 12:12 am

    Wow Tara you are amazing!!!

Rinpoche showed me, Andrew and Jp what came in the mail—your delicious paranormal and mystical creatures “BIG FOOT” books! What an awesome findings and thank you so very much for your spontaneity and being so resourceful. You really made Rinpoche’s day… it is not so much the books but how quick and spontaneous you were 🙂 Bravo!

I wished we had these type of funky 2nd hand bookshops here that carries these types mystical paranormal titles. Perhaps who knows Tsem Ladrang would be the first to do so haha. Thanks again Tara! x

Wow,It is very nice of Tara to send those interesting books to Rinpoche.
It is very amazing to see someone do such a hard job to try find all the paranormal and Bigfoot books thought she could not find any about Bigfoot and still not get a praise or reward.
Its really kind and caring of Tara to get these books for Rinpoche.
Thank you Tara for the books and thank you Rinpoche for sharing this inspiring post.

  44. sockwan on May 1, 2013 at 9:47 pm

Thank you Tara for being so kind, generous and sincere. Even though you have not met Rinpoche personally or know anyone of us here in Kechara, but you are so willing to help.

There are still kind people out there who give without agenda (well, Rinpoche is defintely one of them and can be the best spokeman for this great virtue), we should also start to give and be generous. We will not become poor by giving if it is sincerely from our heart. Afterall, we are interdependent.

  45. Lim Tat Ming on May 1, 2013 at 7:32 pm

Tara Miskiel had taken the time and effort to hunt for those rare used books that Rinpoche had wanted. From searching the books to describing the content of each book she sent to Rinpoche, Tara had exuded her meticulous, generous, lovely and caring personality!

Thank You Tara! Your effort had touched the hearts of Tsem Rinpoche and many of us here who read this blog post. I rejoice in your kind effort!

  46. lewkwanleng on May 1, 2013 at 7:26 pm

It is indeed a lot of kind and generous people out there who are willing to help others. I believe that people are generally kind. This is what I strongly believe, and a believe I hold it close to my heart. I wish there are more people like Tara who are willing to make others happy without agenda, to make this world a better, harmonious place.

I must say I am glad I found Kechara 3 years ago, because I found many of the people in Kechara are willing to go the extra miles for the benefit of other.

  47. patsy on May 1, 2013 at 7:10 pm

So sweet of Tara! She puts so much care and thought in finding the books and wrote a detailed explanation on the books she found before posting the gifts to Rinpoche. She even went all the way to post on freecycle.org which caught the attention of James who donated a book. Wow, a lady with a big heart! Thank you, Tara, for walking the extra miles to get those books for Rinpoche!

  48. Girlie OOI on May 1, 2013 at 6:51 pm

Thank you Tara for those beautiful books that you sent to Rinpoche and creating the cause to starting Rinpoche’s library.

You show by example by going into “action” to fulfill a request.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing Tara’s letter.

  49. Lim Han Nee on May 1, 2013 at 6:47 pm

It was so sweet and thoughtful of Tara to go and search so carefully and painstakingly for books and reading material for Rinpoche. Even though she couldn’t find any on Big Foot, she found so many other interesting books on paranormal subjects and on unexplained mysteries and aliens and mystical subjects.

What’s more, she will continue to look for books for Rinpoche. And she’s still searching for Rinpoche’s Britannica Encyclopaedia set!

Yes Tara has a big heart.

  50. tenzinkhenchen on May 1, 2013 at 6:39 pm

It is amazing to see some people having so much care and patience to look for books that are extremely hard to find. Tara’s motivations were completely pure, she was not hoping for any praise and recognition. This story is very touching.

More and more people should act this way to their guru. It is a way to show guru devotion!

  51. tfreon on May 1, 2013 at 6:09 pm

I am thrilled to see people are so patient, care , detail to another person that they might not even know!
Tara did that not even thinking to get praise , helps or any hidden agendas. From the action Tara did, I could feel she just hunt for the books and send them to H.E Tsem Rinpoche.
I am so touched! Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this news and thanks Tara for the passion.

The term Concert of Names of Manjushri is a tantric text within Tibetan Buddhism, describing the various names and qualities of the bodhisattva Manjushri. Its usually recited and often memorized by practitioners in Buddhist ceremonies The text consists of verses that praise and invoke the qualities of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom and knowledge. By just chanting the names of Manjushri, bring numerous benefits, primarily focused on enhancing wisdom, memory, and clarity of mind. Some traditions associate the practice with protection from negative influences, such as black magic, sickness, and negative karma.
Thank you Rinpoche for introducing this powerful practice to us at Kechara Forest Retreat , Bentong, Pahang.

The Jonang lineage traces its roots back to the 12th century, the profound teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni. Interesting read of the History of Jonang lineage and how it converted to Gelug and how Kalachakra maintain in Gelug until today. The Jonang lineage is a school of Tibetan Buddhism that emphasizes the Kalachakra Tantra. It originated in Tibet, though suppressed in the 17th century, the Jonang tradition persevered in remote regions of Tibet and is now experiencing a revival. The Jonang lineage offers a unique perspective on Buddhist philosophy and practice, influencing other Tibetan Buddhist traditions.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing about this profound lineage.

Since escaping from China in 1959, Tibetans refugees settled down in different parts of Indian. The Tibetan leadership and those in exile were given land, opportunities, education and aid, and so many Western charities help them. The Indian government under the leadership of Jawaharlal Nehru was kind enough and they could do whatever they like. Tibetan settlements in South India have been severely affected by a regional drought. In Tibetian Buddhism accomplished masters could influence the weather. As long as practitioners accomplished in their practices, they had guru devotion and pure samaya with their teachers, it could be done. Many witnesses including our Guru H E Tsem Rinpoche saw the masters could stop the rains. The prayers and rituals have not been effective as they gave up their commitments to their lineage lamas, related to their Dorje Shugden practice. Moreover they have lost faith in great master and gurus as they practise Dorje Shugden. They have creates very heavy negative karma. Great masters could stop the rains and making it rain and save the harvest. For the sake of the people who are suffering from horrendous drought, those samaya must be repaired practitioners must all be united again and not discriminate each others due to their Dorje Shugden practice. The Tibetan government should also repair this samaya. Interesting read .
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this .

Manjushri is one of the most important figures in Mahayana Buddhism, and is considered a patron deity of wisdom and learning. By practicing Manjushri our wisdom can enhance and improve significantly. Helps help us with our memory.
Through Rinpoche’s sponsorship at Gaden Sharte Monastery many monks had benefited. Rejoice to them receiving the initiation .Sponsoring the Dharma, which refers to supporting the teachings and practices of Buddhism, is considered a meritorious act in Buddhism. Acts of generosity and support for the Dharma are believed to generate positive karma, leading to positive consequences in this life and future lives.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing and explaining it.

David Bowie, was an English singer, songwriter and actor and was once a Tibetan Buddhist practitioner. Regarded as among the most influential musicians of the 20th century . The English singer, songwriter and actor David Bowie died at his Lafayette Street home in New York City but in his will he requested his ashes to be spread according to the Buddhist rituals of Bali, Indonesia. He must been to Bali and fall for the beauty of Buddhism and culture of Bali to choose BUDDHIST ritual upon his death. David Bowie made a conscious choice that made perfect sense, not allowing fans and media to focus on his body and his death.

HORRIFYING, feeling sad after watching the video. The way or rather methods of slaughtering of pigs at slaughter house is indeed cruel. Just like human beings, they do feel pain and fear to be slaughter. No living beings would choose to die in pain or a painful death. Hopefully those methods have since been changed to minimize animal suffering. Stop consuming meat and choosing to go meatless or on vegetarian is the best choice.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this to bring awareness of how those poor pigs suffer before been killed.

Hoichi the Earless is the name of a well-known figure from Japanese folklore. His story is well known in Japan. Some centuries ago there lived at Akamagaséki a blind man named Hoichi, who was famed for his skill in recitation and in playing upon the biwa. According to legend, Hoichi was a blind minstrel with an amazing gift for the biwa (a loquat-shaped Japanese lute). Despite his talents, Hoichi was very poor and was forced to live at Amidaji Temple under the care of a friendly priest. There’s an interesting stories behind how he lost his ear to the Samurai and the priest wrote kanji characters all over Hoichi’s body rendered him invisible to the samurai. Hoichi’s ordeal had freed him from the spirit’s power, and he went on to recover from his wounds and become a famous musician. His story become well known and had it appearing in the books as well as in film.

Reading through the Royal Song Of Saraha paints a thousands words . Such a meaningful song or rather deep poem, will be wonderful if I could understand enough some of those words, its more of a deep Dharma teaching to me. This song of existential freedom was composed by the Glorious Master Yogin Saraha and translated in English translation by Herbert V. Guenther.

HH the 101st Gaden Trisur Jetsun Lungrik Namgyal Rinpoche is an erudite, and highly attained lama. Millions of Gelug practitioners from all over monasteries view H H the Gaden Tripa as the supreme leader of their lineage. H H the Gaden Tripa gave a three-day teaching on the sacred Highest Anuttarayoga Tantra practice of Vajrayogini at his Dharma centre in France, Thar Deu Ling. A very special text containing teachings composed by HH Gaden Trisur Rinpoche were also distributed. Incredible , HH Gaden Trisur Rinpoche continue giving teachings at the advanced age of 92. Haven writen a book about the Vajrayogini practice shows us the importance of this practice in this day and age. Merely by reciting her mantra daily without break can gain spiritual attainments, perceive her holy form, and even ascend to her pure land — Kechara Paradise.
Thank you Rinpoche for this profound knowledge about Vajrayogini

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
