3rd Pastor Ordination at Kechara Forest Retreat!

Nov 7, 2013 | Views: 1,528

Saturday, 19/10/2013, marked as a very auspicious day for Kechara. It was Kechara’s 3rd Pastor Ordination Ceremony, and 6 Kecharians were officiated as Pastors!

The 6 Kecharians who took on Pastorship vows were:

Along with Pastor Chia (who renewed his vows), the 6 new Pastors will be ordained as monks and nuns at the end of this year.

The day started with our 2 emcees, Niral (English) and Abby (Chinese) welcoming family and friends of the Pastors-to-be. Many of them came to Kechara Forest Retreat for the first time and had the chance to go on a tour

Datuk May Phng then gave a speech and shared how special this ceremony was… those taking ordination vows are also aspiring nuns and monks! She then made an aspirational wish to be close to the Dharma and become ordained in her next life.

The emcees then introduced Pastor Yek Yee who bestowed on the Pastorship vows to the 6 Kecharians above. Pastor Yek Yee is sincere, hardworking and a very old student of mine. Since undertaking her role as Pastor in 2011, she has been consistent and excelling in her Pastor duties. She is available 24 hours, 7 days a week and is always seen running to different places, helping those with spirit disturbances, sick in hospitals, counselling people, giving teachings at Kechara House, doing prayers at the Puja House etc etc…

The Pastors-to-be wore simple clothing to the ceremony and, led by Pastor Yek Yee, recited the vows and prayers together. They then proceeded to each make 3 full prostrations to the 3 Jewels (Buddha, Dharma and Sangha) and had their hair cut by Pastor Yek Yee to symbolize the acceptance of each person’s wish to become ordained as Pastors.

Each of them then proceeded to change into their Pastors uniform, and returned to the ceremony to conclude the prayers. They then went up to receive their official Kechara Pastor certificate and their Buddha Shakyamuni pendant, which all Pastors will wear everyday. The pendant will become a holy object due to the power of prayer, and will in turn be a powerful object to bless others with.

Do take a look at the pictures below. I will add in the video soon so that everyone can be a part of the momentous occasion!

It was such a beautiful event, an auspicious day for everyone. I remember it being very bright and sunny with a lot of people walking around in KFR. It is always exciting to see so many people at KFR, learning and touring around. I rejoice for all the new Pastors and I do believe and trust in Rinpoches decision to allow Pastor Yek Yee to be in charged of the ordination, she truly deserves it from all the work she has done to serve others tirelessly on call 24/7 without hesitation, without a frown, without complaint and never ending compassion for others. She is truly a beautiful person inside and out. I look forward to seeing the new Pastors work for others.

It is nice to see Kechara’s pastorship program growing and this is creating the causes for Kechara to have monks and nuns in the future. I am sure that the new pastors will be able to fulfill their duties and spread the Dharma at the most quickest and efficient way. Good luck to the new pastors.

The ceremony was an uplifting experience. The lesson I gained and cherish was a gentle reminder that all of us human bodies are just vessels for our ageless mindstreams. Young, old, male, female, broad, thin, english-speaking, chinese-speaking, rich, poor, “handsome”, “not-so-handsome”, short-sighted, long-sighted, tall, short, left-handed, right-handed, dark, fair, etc., it ain’t matter.

It is great and rejoicing to see a new young and dynamic team of pastors arising at Kechara. This is truly the effort of our Rinpoche nurturing and training them to benefit others. From these pastors, they will in turn nurture and train others in Kechara for a better society in Malaysia and other regions. My utmost best wishes and prayers for their success in the spiritual path for self and others.

I could not attend the ceremony but I am sure whoever were there and those who were absent, rejoice for all the pastors. May they continue to benefit the many beings who will come across them.

This is so neat! A closer step for our young monastic aspirants to be closer towards receiving their full Bhikshu/Bhikshuni vows. The years of physical growth of Kechara has bore fruit with inner growth on the part of these beautiful young individuals. They had chosen a path that not many people thread, which is a path of selfless practice of the Dharma. I congratulate them and offer my best wishes to those who offer their worldly wishes in order to assist other fulfil theirs. Very noble and young group of monastics to be.

    • Choongs on Nov 11, 2013 at 12:29 pm

Hi David, you calling me old too? 🙂 Young, old, you never know when death knocks but it is never too late to progress on your spiritual journey.

This is an extremely auspicious day for seven individual who inspires to take up pastorship vows and ordain to become monks and nuns in the near future…Seven of them are inspired by H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche to personally take up this responsibility of upholding the victory banner of Buddhadharma and elucidate Tsongkhapa’s teachings in this region.

I sincerely wish each individual pastor great success in their mission of spreading and preserving the precious holy dharma and most of all, a monastic order’s life to come.

  21. henry ooi on Nov 8, 2013 at 4:22 pm

Indeed it was a joyous and memorable night in Kechara Forest Retreat Wisdom Hall for the pastors and for all Kecharians present.

  22. Datuk May on Nov 8, 2013 at 2:11 pm

Seeing this post by Rinpoche, brought tears of joy to me. It was one of the most beautiful events of my life. The evening saw more than the 3rd Kechara Pastor Ordination, it was the beginning of the monastic order of Kechara in Malaysia.

With the Monastic order established, the doctrine of our Gelupa lineage will grow from strength to strength.

It is wonderful to see such beautiful young adults take on the aspiration to be monks and nuns. May many Malaysian Buddhists be blessed to take on this great vocation of life.

  23. Wendy Loh on Nov 8, 2013 at 12:11 pm

It was a meaningful day for the Pastors and Kechara. It was the first time that such an auspicious event was held at KFR and it was also the first time that an existing pastor solemnized the whole ordination under the tutelage and auspices of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. I rejoice that the torch is passed to other able and qualified leaders at Kechara symbolizing that Rinpoche’s teachings and the Buddhadharma are growing.

Well chaplain is an ordained member of the clergy or so call spiritual leader. That’s awesome having a chaplain in hospital, military base or even a prison giving spiritual guidance and counselling. Chaplain provides spiritual guidance and offer support to people of all faiths and beliefs. They will also assist individuals and families in difficult times within a secular institution. Those inmates and military personnel been away from families truly needed emotional and spiritual support. Within the United States army, the first Buddhist chaplain was appointed back in 2004, endorsed by the Buddhist Churches of America. The number of Buddhists in the U.S. military has grown, leading to an increased need and presence for Buddhist chaplains. Many of the chaplains are attracted to Buddhism as that it was patently un-political. Buddhism continue the trend of remaining secularly apolitical in the future, providing comprehensive spiritual support serving the diverse needs of military forces on bases worldwide. Good to know that US military forces such as the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force allow having Buddhist Chaplain in as it brings diverse spiritual support and promoting holistic well-being for all service members. Buddhist Chaplain has in-fact show that the military values diversity, with different faiths working together.
    Great sharing thank you

In Tibetan Buddhism, a wealth vase, is a sacred object used to attract material and spiritual abundance. These vases are filled with various symbolic items and are believed to balance the elements. Having a wealth vase brings numerous benefits such as attracting material prosperity, career success, and financial growth. Not only that but also spiritual wealth, wisdom, and protection from loss. As it contained symbolic treasures and energies to boost abundance, remove obstacles, and enhance luck according to Tibetan traditions. They symbolize accumulation of assets and security of financial gains. The wealth vase is filled with precious items such as relics from high lamas, representations of the Wealth Buddha, holy items, precious and semi-precious gems and so on. Having a wealth box at Kechara Forest Retreat brought tremendous benefits .We are all very fortunate to contribute and support this blessed Wealth Box .
Thank you Rinpoche for the growth of Dharma , having one wealth box at kechara Forest Retreat, Bentong. Interesting knowledge about it.

H E Zava Damdin Rinpoche, is an erudite Mongolian Buddhist master within the Gelug tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. Zava Damdin Rinpoche was recognised as the reincarnation of one of the greatest Buddhist masters, yogis, healers, scholars and mahasiddhas in Mongolia. Zava Damdin Rinpoche is famed for his absolute guru devotion. In spite of the unlawful ban on the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden Zava Damdin Rinpoche remain devoted to the practice and has continued to see enormous growth around the world. Especially in Mongolia which has long held a strong historical and religious connection with Tibetan Buddhism. Back in 2016 H E Zava Damdin Rinpoche conferred Yamantaka initiation and Dorje Shugden sogtae . More than 10,000 ordained monks and lay people attended the initiation in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Looking at those pictures in this blog says all, all monks and lay people were so blessed indeed. It has proven that the practice of Dorje Shugden is very popular . They were more blessed and fortunate as after the initiation, they were given a ‘heart’ crystal and a chakra which were consecrated during the sogtae ceremony. They are given as a blessing and reminder of the initiate’s commitments to Dorje Shugden, and also as a symbol of Dorje Shugden’s promise to protect them.
Thank you Rinpoche for this wonderful sharing .

Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing great! I wanted to share a truly incredible journey that I’ve been on recently. You see, few months ago, my marriage hit a really rough patch. It was a time filled with confusion, heartbreak, and a lot of searching for answers. I looked into so many different places for help, hoping to find someone who could guide me through this difficult time. I reached out to friends, family, and even sought advice from professionals, but unfortunately, nothing seemed to be working. It felt like I was hitting dead ends at every turn. But then, one day, while I was surfing the internet, feeling a bit lost and unsure of what to do next, I stumbled upon something truly remarkable. It was the good work of a spell caster called Priest AZ. His effective love spell stories and positive impact he had made in the lives of others with his powerful love spell caught my attention. Intrigued and hopeful, I decided to reach out to Priest AZ for help. And let me tell you, that decision changed everything. From the very first conversation, I could sense his genuine care and understanding. He listened to me without judgment and provided a safe space for me to express my feelings and concerns. Priest AZ’s Love-Spell were like a beacon of light during my darkest days. He helped me navigate the complexities of my situation. He helped me solved the underlying issues in my marriage with his effective and powerful love spell. In just a short time the results were surprising, my husband called me in less than 24hrs after the love-spell and he was apologizing for me to accept him back and definitely I accepted him back. . It wasn’t an easy journey, I’ll admit. There were moments of doubt and uncertainty along the way. But with the unwavering help of Priest AZ, Through the love spell, my husband and I were able to reignite the love that brought us together, and ultimately restore our marriage. I can’t express enough how grateful I am for the intervention of Priest AZ in my life. He truly made a difference, not just in my marriage, but in my overall well-being. His kindness, compassion, and dedication to helping others are truly inspiring. If any of you out there is going through a similar situation, If you need to get your husband back to you, you need to fix a broken marriage, you need to stop a divorce or you want to restore a broken marriage/relationship. I want to encourage you to seek help from priest AZ, Contact him at Mightylovespell@gmail.com. WhatsApp: +43 680 5400 8232

My name is Max Kai, and I’m from the USA. I was deeply in love with a woman, and even after I found out she was cheating on me, I still wanted to make things work. Unfortunately, she chose to stay with the person she cheated with, and that broke me. About six weeks later, I came across a post on a relationship forum about a spell caster named Dr. Masako who helps people reconnect with lost love through love spells. With nothing left to lose, I decided to reach out to him via WhatsApp and shared my story. To my surprise, within just 24 hours, Dr. Masako helped bring my ex back into my life and now, we’re engaged and planning our wedding. I honestly didn’t expect this to work, but it did. If you’re going through something similar and need help getting your ex back, I highly recommend contacting Dr. Masako. You can reach him on WhatsApp at +2349047144277, email him at doctormasako@gmail.com, or visit his website: doctormasako2.wixsite.com/drmasakospelltemple

Well thought out article where Rinpoche gave a precious teaching. Encourage us to go vegetarian showing compassion to all sentient beings by not causing suffering or death. To make a conscious effort to avoid contributing to the suffering and death of animals is the best choice. Going vegetarian in Buddhism is a choice motivated by compassion. I do agree with Rinpoche that we should not be too attached to meat. Very true there is nothing to lose by going vegetarian. What enlightened and attained beings do we can’t , we follow the conventional way .
Thank you Rinpoche for all these precious teaching

Miyolangsangma is the Tibetan Buddhist goddess who lives at the top of Chomolungma . She is the goddess of inexhaustible giving and of Everest and the Khumbu area in general. She rides a golden tigress and hands out the jewels of wishes to those deserving.
Mount Everest, at 8,848.86 meters , is the highest mountain on Earth and presents one of the ultimate challenges for climbers. Climbers scaling Mount Everst involves navigating extreme altitude, severe weather conditions will stop by at Tengboche Monastery . They will seek blessing from Lama Geshe a Buddhist monk, known for blessing climbers by reciting a mantra to Miyolangsangma. Climbers will be given a talisman containing Miyolangsangma’s mantra, to be worn around the neck for protection while scaling Mount Everest. That’s awesome.
    Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.

The Faroe Islands a volcanic are a self-governing archipelago, located between Iceland and Norway and part of the Kingdom of Denmark. As part of a tradition dolphins were slaughtered mercilessly. The killing of dolphins in Denmark refers to the traditional Grindadráp hunts which has been going on for hundred years. Each year, locals in the North Atlantic’s Faeroe Islands drive herds of sea mammals into shallow waters, where they are stabbed to death. In keeping with the annual, barbaric tradition of killing dolphins, thousands of these mammals were killed. Whales and several dolphin species are herded by boats into shallow bays or onto beaches. According to the animal rights activist, back then, this hunt was necessary for the survival of the villages. Looking at those pictures shows dolphins thrashing around in waters turned red with blood as hundreds of people watch on from the beach.
The practice of dolphin hunting in the Faroe Islands has come under scrutiny recently. Its really cruel , hopefully more people are aware of this cruel practice and abandoned . Moreover soon or later dolphins will be extinct.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Dare to dream and having the courage to pursue our goals and aspirations, nor matter it seem difficult. Found this old post, featuring our Guru in this Star News. It is an encouragement to imagine a better future and to take the necessary steps and efforts to make that a reality. Overcoming fear, being persistent, Rinpoche dare to do and dream and made them to come true. All thanks to Rinpoche we have Kechara Forest Retreat now. When we dare to dream follow by action with our deepest aspirations and believe in ourselves when no one else does all wishes will be fulfilled.
Thank you Rinpoche show us the light and giving us the inspiration of Rinpoche ‘s dream.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
