Beautiful Statue of Ucheyma | 精美殊胜的断首金刚瑜伽母像

A few days ago Ms. Julia Tan surprised me with two beautifully carved wooden statues of this powerful Goddess. The workmanship of these two statues are impeccable and I really like the statues very much. They are iconographically correct according to her sadhana in the Rinjung Lhantab texts. Soon I will have them painted and placed on my shrine for worship, meditations and blessings. But even unpainted, they are so beautiful and sacred. I don’t think you can find a Ucheyma statue in the Tibetan form in any temple or shrine as far as I know. I’ve never seen one as she is so rare.

Ucheyma is the special form of Vajra Yogini and the lineage comes to us through the Indian female Mahasiddha Laksminkara who had a vision of Ucheyma. Ucheyma herself initiated Laksminkara into this practice and from Laksminkara this practice was passed through many illustrious Tibetan masters until it reached His Holiness the 7th Panchen Lama Jetsun Palden Tenpai Nyima (1782-1853). From the Panchen Lama this lineage reaches us in modern times.
It is a very rare form of Vajra Yogini and not practised by the mainstream but a very secret practice. You need the full initiation, oral transmission and permission to practise and recite her mantra. This form of Vajra Yogini with the severed head is said to be very powerful in removing the all-encompassing enemy which is the ego, the root of our personal samsara. The ego is the source of all our woes. All karmas, sufferings, experiences, projects and their results arise from the ego. Ucheyma is the powerful antidote of this. All forms of Vajra Yogini in fact combat the ego.
I thank Ms. Julia Tan for these beautiful representations of enlightenment. I treasure them very much. It is a statue I have wanted for many decades now. I deeply appreciate this very much. It was very kind of Julia to offer this to me.

断首金刚瑜伽母 ——金刚瑜伽母的无头相
几天前，陈宝甄（Julia Tan）给了我一个惊喜，送了两尊该殊胜佛母的木雕像给我。这两尊佛像的雕工无可挑剔，我真的十分喜欢她们。她们造像正确，符合七世班禅大师文集（Rinjung Lhantab）中金刚瑜伽母仪轨的描述。很快地，我会给她们上色，并摆在我的佛坛上以作供奉、禅修和加持。然而，即便是尚未上色，她们已经是那么的精美和神圣。就我所知，我不认为你能在任何一个寺庙或佛龛内找到藏式的断首金刚瑜伽母像。我本身不曾见过，因为她是如此罕见。
断首金刚瑜伽母是金刚瑜伽母的一个特别相，这个传承透过印度女大成就者拉斯敏卡拉传给我们。她亲见断首金刚瑜伽母，也从佛母那里接受了这项灌顶。这项修持从拉斯敏卡拉传给了西藏许多著名的大师，直到至尊七世班禅大师哲尊贝登丹白尼玛（1782-1853年），再从班禅大师将传承延续给了现代的我们。
这是一个罕见的金刚瑜伽母相，她并非主流修持，却是一项十分秘密的修持。你必须接受完整的灌顶、口传和批准才能修持和念诵她的心咒。据说，这个呈现断首相的金刚瑜伽母能十分有效地去除我们的全方位敌人，也就是我执。那是我们个人娑婆轮回的根本。我执是我们一切困境的来源。一切的因果业力、痛苦、经历、投射和相应的结果全都来自我执。断首金刚瑜伽母能有效对治它。事实上，金刚瑜伽母的一切化现都能对治我执。
我感谢陈宝甄送给我这精美殊胜的证悟象征。我很珍惜她们。那是我渴望了几十年的佛像。我发自内心的感激。陈宝甄真的很有心，将她们供养给我。

My personal Ucheyma statues | 我的断首金刚瑜伽母像
These are my personal Ucheyma statues, offered to me recently by a student. They are made out of wood and I had them painted up. The 17.5″ statue was painted gold with an antique finish, and my 24″ statue was painted in full colour, according to the description of this Goddess in her sadhana. I wanted to share these images here as a blessing to plant seeds of Vajra Yogini and enlightenment. This rare form of Vajrayogini with severed head is completely different from the traditional Buddha statue that we have so far. It is said that this form of Vajrayogini is very powerful to remove our ego that caused us experience in sufferings.
I rejoice Julia has offered these beautiful and precious Ucheyma to guru. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this beautiful statue but most importantly is the meaning and benefits for having this statue and practice of Ucheyma.

感谢陈宝甄（Julia）为仁波切用心制作的断首金刚瑜伽母像，这的确很罕见也十分殊胜，我甚至不曾在照片上看过这类金刚瑜伽母像的照片，只看过绘画的图片。第一次看到这尊佛母的介绍是几年前，她提着头的造型与我们印象中的传统庄严佛像完全不一样，甚至感觉有点怪异。不过读过了仁波切在博文上的介绍之后，就有点恍然大悟。我们对肉体的认知和执着往往让我们无法跨越某些想法和投射，就比如说断头，常让人立刻联想到死亡和血腥，一般人很难排除那种恐惧感，当然更别说会联想到背后竟然有如此深刻的意义。断首金刚瑜伽母提醒我们要放下对自我的执着，对这个肉体的执着，因为只有真的放下了我们以为一定要紧紧把握的这个身体以及因他而衍生的一切其他需要，我们才可能得到真正的解脱。
