I bow to the lotus feet of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. May His powerful presence continue to reside in our world. He gives us the hope, the courage and the faith that Enlightened Beings do exist. I from the humblest depths of my heart wish His Holiness a New Year that is beyond any He has witnessed ever before. May 2011 fulfill His sublime wishes.

I bow down to my Gurus and wish a New Year of 2011 that sees your works and supreme aspirations fulfilled. I promise you from my heart I will carry on my practice, your teachings, lineage and transmissions to many in order to bring benefit to them. I will not allow the time you have so generously bestowed on me to be wasted or create disappointments in your holy minds. May I never be born apart from you or even have one split second of doubts in you. May I serve you in life after life. I prostrate to all of you always…
I wish all Gurus of all traditions who by their examples show the way to perfect Nirvana. Who courageously bear many hardships in order to liberate the countless and pitiful beings such as myself. May all never be separated from these Gurus in this and all future lives. I wish both Gurus and students a supreme 2011 and so forth.
I wish my sponsors, Liaisons, Kechara staff, members, volunteers, students, relatives, blog readers and friends past, present and future a superb 2011. I wish them all the happiness in secular life and GREAT SUCCESS in their spiritual lives. I am happy to know all of you and I ask the Three Jewels to bless you.
I wish my Mumu and Oser a very happy and very HEALTHY 2011 and so forth. May all animals be happy and safe.
I wish this planet earth’s people/animals/ 6 realms’ sentient beings a happy 2011. May there be world and universal peace for all.
I wish happy New Year’s to the people who I have known in the past and not in contact with anymore. I also wish those who do not agree with me, or do not find me pleasing also a very happy and successful 2011. May you be blessed always.

Came across this old post. Inspiring…with worthy words from our Lama to HH Dalai Lama, all Gurus and the world. A New Year of 2011, wishing all guru’s works and supreme aspirations be fulfilled swiftly. Inspiring blessings for 2011,may our Lama ‘s wish be materialized and his teachings flourished to the ten direction. Even our Lama not with us yet the spiritual spirit will always be with all of us. Our Lama will be back soon.
Looking back at this article, I’m a bit emotional as Rinpoche has already left this earthly abode last year and I pray that Rinpoche may return swiftly. Despite being emotional, I think for the time being that Rinpoche is not around, it’s also a perfect time to examine one’s own practice/mind.

I was walking past a second hand shop on Western Ave selling old things. They had a Japanese-style clay Buddha which was beige in colour on the floor, holding the door open. I thought the shopkeeper would collect a lot of negative karma without knowing if he kept such a holy item on the floor as a doorstop. So I went in to talk to him, but he didn’t look like he wanted to talk or that he even cared. So I asked him the price and he said US$5. I purchased it so he did not collect more negative karma. I was 17 years old and that was in 1982.
I escorted my new Buddha home and washed it lightly and wiped it. I placed it on my altar and was happy with the Buddha. I would do my meditations, prayers, sadhanas, mantras and prostrations in front of this shrine daily. When I left for India in 1987, I could not bring this Buddha along and gave it to a friend. It was a nice size and I made offerings to this Buddha for many years in Los Angeles. In front of the Buddha I placed His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s photo. I remember I was so relieved that the price was affordable. But US$5 that time was still expensive for me but worth it I thought. But I was happy to have brought the Buddha home. Tsem Rinpoche
