ABC

Something our young people have started which shows care can start at any age. I am proud to present this to you. Please read.

In recent years, there have been many many cases of animal cruelty… In Kechara, we actively encourage for everyone to have a more compassionate perspective towards animals. It is unnecessarily cruel to eat them… but even more so if you physically abuse them for entertainment. What benefits can be gained?

Every month, Kechara has an animal liberation day and we also encourage the youths to take care of animals. In Kechara Village there will be a 100 foot walk-in aviary… all of our beautiful birds in the Ladrang aviary will be moved to the forest! Unlike helping another fellow human being, animals can’t say “Thank You”… so by cleaning their homes, feeding them food, taking them to the vet etc… will be without agenda, and therefore you practice real compassion.

For the past few months, 5 of our Kecharian youths have shown that they really care about animals… These 5 are Beatrix Ooi (15 years old), Julien Roth (13 years old), Edward Ooi (13 years old), Lucas Roth (11 years old) and Sean Wang (15 years old).

A month ago, I asked them if they would like to start an anti-cruelty animal coalition group… and they quickly replied YES!! Hehe The aim of the group is to create awareness on animal cruelty by youths. Young people must have a good cause to work towards. To teach them responsibility and care towards the denizens of this planet. Good to start them off early.

Some of them had their final exams in October, so today they had their very first meeting! With Haven being their headquarters, they organized with their parents to arrive promptly at 5pm. Julien promised to buy the first meeting’s snacks… so he got 5 big bottles of drinks, 2 packets of veg sushi, 1 extra large pizza, 1 large pizza, 2 large packets of chips and 1 box of cheesy sticks..

Today, they did research on a catchy group’s name, voted for the group’s name, wrote out their individual short biography, took individual and group photographs, wrote out a description on why they started the group, what they intend to do as a group, compiled animal cruelty  images and videos… and they opened an email and Facebook fanpage account to secure their group’s name!

They have been collecting donations also for their work and some light expenditure it involves.

They have decided to call themselves the Animal Befrienders Coalition (ABC)!

See their page here: https://www.facebook.com/AnimalBefriendersCoalition

Stay tuned…Give these youths your support please!! Get your kids involved on this page and get yourself involved on this page. Let our youths know that it is worth your time to show your support for their work. Help young people be encouraged when they are spending their time on something worthwhile. Empathy towards animals creates care and love in the individual’s heart…let’s encourage this in our youths. Let’s help love grow.

Thank You so much Rinpoche for giving us a chance to help and save more lives. I feel much more happier after I became a member of ABC. I really wish that one day ABC owns a company which focuses on rescuing wild/abandoned animals, stopping people from using animal products( not in the wrathful way), promotes vegetarianism and putting animals up for adoption. Even if company have too many animals to take care, we will never ever put those animals too sleep or torture them. We want to have a big area to let the animals run around. But in order to accomplish that mission, WE NEED EVERY PERSON’S SUPPORT.

That is a very cool group name to have. You are very creative! Congratulations on gathering together as a team to promote the idea that we need to be compassion towards animals and at the same time oppose to animal cruelty. No one deserve to be maltreated so does animals.

Learning to work together as a team and being responsible are part of growing up. You guys and gals are working towards a common goal that is beneficial to all ie loving other sentient beings beside the human species. Congratulations again!

This group of young kids is really something because when I was in their age, I was still doing nothing but playing with my schoolmate. I’m really proud of the five of them to spend time for others. It’s very good to see this group of kids will not grow up to be another man/women who just care for themselves.

They are in their teen right now instead of wasting their time in getting pleasure for themselves, they are now spending their free time to do research, getting information and write about animal cruelty. Animal can’t express their feeling through speech or words but they still feel pain, lonely or scared.

In the human history, animal have provided a lot of help towards us (human), as we all know buffaloes provide help in farming, milk cow provide us daily products, but at the same time we also used them to provide us clothing/meat or even makes them to try something that even human won’t want to try such as animal testing on medical research.

What this group of youngster wanted to do is to bring awareness to the public not to harm animal that won’t be able to express their feeling or pain, they might not speak but they feel too. This group of young people also bringing the message of compassion towards animal, which can easily achievable for everyone of us.

I’m totally rejoice of their hard work and their compassion for others, I wish them all the best in whatever message they wanted to bring to the world, and let’s us (the adults) to help them to fulfil their wishes by supporting their fan page and bring their voices to others.

WOW it is amazing that these group of young people can grow up to help animals. Can everyone please like ABC on Facebook and help raise funds and spread awareness against animal cruelty.we should help animals because they have no voice but that does not mean they do not have feelings and we do not know whether they are our mothers, because they might be reborn as animals.(you can donate money to any of the ABC people if you see them. any amount is accepted. donation way monthly or once)

Cruety to animals has often been taken as a joke or fun in the everday life. These animals suffered the pain of being abused, beatened, tortured helplessly with no one to turn to for protection.

Today these 5 teenagers, (Beatrix, Lucas, Sean, Juien and Edward) after they have learned the dharma from Rinpoche, stood up couragerously and started the Animal Befrienders Coalition (ABC).
Thank you to these 5 young people to make a example and a difference.

    Congratulations,I wish you great success

Dear Beatrix, Sean, Julien, Lucas and Edward, thank you very much for inspiring those around your age and us adults as well. Your parents brought you fine kids up very well. The greatest gift we can give to our children is the gift of Dharma to protect them because we are not able to hold their hands forever.

Animal cruelty is a very important and pressing matter at this day of age. ALL sentient beings deserves compassion and kindness. I would not want to be reborn as someone else’s meal in my future lives! So please think twice about eating meat or abusing any animals..

Thank you kids for creating awareness through ABC. I truly am inspired by you kids! Good luck!

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing! =)

I wish that the ABC will grow fast, more youths will join your group and your mission will be accomplished.

I hope to see more and more animals will be saved and well taken care of. Keep it up! Kids.

Wah…that is something really touched and warm my heart after I finished read this post. The five young boy and girl give up their own attachment as their age and join together work something such great. I admired what they are doing now.

I am not animal lover before that honestly. Now, I have changed. I started have feeling to animals and give my love and care to them. When I am starting care about animals such as doggies and kitten feeling I found out my heart open a lots. I got more tolerance towards peoples I consider don’t like. I more care about others. Amazing!!!

Many friends of mine like animals, they really love them. They are influenced me indirectly.

That why when I read the post “ABC” I feel so happy that a power from behind to protect the animals being suffered. Five of them average age from 15 to 11 years old. They got a kind heart to save the animal being torture and treat cruelty by human. They are voice out the protection message to stop or reduce this kind of cruelty thing happened, we must support them all the way!

ABC will be a very powerful group to protect animals being torture, hurt, abuse and so forth. Please give them support by our action and showed a good example.

Last, I would like to thank Rinpoche created this ABC group and selected 5 of the main members in ABC. I also want to thank ABC members work hard to prevent animals being abuse, kill, torture and hurt. I sincerely do my prayer for ABC successful. Thank you all of you!

Congratulation! I think you guys are showing the world how much you care about animals and you are serious and ready to do something about it. Your action will encourage many people to start caring for the animals, to get involved to safe the animals. I am sure many will realized the important of not killing them by reading your blog. Glad to see young adults getting themselves involved into such a noble work. Keep it up. Thank you Beatrix, Lucas, Sean, Julien and Edward for taking out the extra time to make this happened.

  16. Martin on Jan 25, 2013 at 1:48 am

We have often wondered how it is that the world became so cruel and callous towards animals and the answer lies in the simple fact that for most of us, the value and preciousness of each life was never imbued into us from young. It is easier to absorb a new philosophy and incorporate it into the daily life when we are young and before years of habituations set in. Therefore what the wonderful young people are doing with ABC is exactly the right thing to do i.e. practicing humanity and compassion, educating others and influencing people their age to follow.

I am very glad for the ABC team because not only are their taking responsibilities early, they are also teaching compassion by showing the way. What is it about treating animals properly that young kids can understand and yet a lot of adults cannot grasp.

I hope ABC grows from force to force and I hope they spread far and wide so that the next generation can do something real and effective to prevent cruelty to animals.

    Dear Team ABC,

Congratulations on your highly successful fanpage. Reaching 38,000 likes is a feat, and this is only the beginning.

I’d like to congratulate each one of you, for standing up and choosing to be different. To stand up and change the way the world goes round, because you know that there’s something wrong. Many people would rather not do anything if it doesn’t affect them per se, but hats off because you guys said “No, I’m going to do something about this”.

You guys are inspirational, and will lead the future generations to make a stance in showing kindness towards animals. Keep up the excellent work, and continue to promote Kindness towards Animals to the world.

Oh your facebook page is nice! Keep it active and interesting as it has been so far. 🙂

    Love,
    Carmen

  18. Jean Ai on Jan 24, 2013 at 4:46 pm

Well done kiddies, for leading the way and putting so many adults to shame with your compassion. It is often said that murderers have a history of animal abuse when they are younger.

I think it doesn’t have to be so extreme, and what it can refer to is this – if you are capable of harming animals when you’re young, then hurting others when you’re older becomes much easier because from young, you haven’t learnt to value life.

Now flip it the other way – if you are capable of loving animals when you’re young, then loving others when you’re older becomes much easier, and hurting them becomes less likely.

So if you want your kids to grow up to be kind people, teach them to love animals the way ABC does!

  19. Lanse on Jan 24, 2013 at 4:16 pm

    Well done ABC.

With 5 kids with average age of 13.4, ABC fanpage has achieved more than 38k likes in just a few months. Congratulations to them and thanks for their hardwork.

On ABC facebook, there are always a lot of new updates with photos and videos to create awareness of animal cruelty and promoting vegetarianism. It shows how committed they are in helping the animals.

I rejoice to see this. Hopefully with this fanpage and the effort of the currently small group of youth, many young people will join in their good work in helping to promote vegetarianism or at least to prevent animal cruelty.

If young kids can do their best in becoming animal friendly person, there will be no excuse for their parents or other adults to not doing the same. Then our society will have lessen our collective karma of killing.

Thanks to Rinpoche’s kindness in inspiring these youth to do something very meaningful for a very good cause.

  20. abby f on Jan 24, 2013 at 1:31 pm

Congratulations to the ABC team! They are so young yet they can do so much! And it is very inspiring that kids are passionate about saving animals and against animal cruelty. And this makes no excuse for the adults for not doing anything and keep hurting the animals. I think it is very powerful and persuasive to have kids doing this. They have strong stands against animal cruelty and they can speak, write and talk to people about this. These kids are the people who can change the world. Loving and kindness is nothing to do with age, experience or qualification, even kids have love and kindness! So don’t make more excuses for ourselves for not doing anything to care and love for other sentient beings.

Congratulations and thank you to the ABC team for all the works!

ABC. Animal Befrienders Colition. What a good name to start with. Catchy and easy to remember. ABC, started by 5 inspiring young persons to spread awareness on cruelty to animals without agenda. Because animal cannot give back anything literally, there can be no agenda of gain directly for these compassionate young people. They deserve all our support and we all can learn a lot from them. I rejoice!

I am so proud of you guys! Keep up the good work! It is always great to start off young and as many other parents will be worried with their teenage kids over what will they be doing after school hours or during their leisure times, I am sure your parents will not be worried but very proud of you all. What a wonderful way to fill in your youth by creating awareness on animal cruelty and vegetarianism. Rather than only focusing on video games, TV programmes, internet and outdoor games, this is more worthwhile and help you guys a lot. Congratulations on the 38k FB likes! Don’t forget to tell your friends about this ABC that you guys started! Congratulations!

  25. lewkwanleng on Jan 23, 2013 at 11:26 pm

It is indeed quite sad to see a lot of animal abuse on the internet lately. Beating, torturing and killing are just some of the ways people mistreat the animals, and they even film the whole incident and put them up on internet purposely. It is indeed very sad and totally unnecessary.

On the other hand, it is indeed very inspiring to see teenagers starting some noble causes for the animals, by educating people to treat our animal friends better. By being in Dharma, these teenagers show their friends that other than playing iPad, sports, there are many other meaningful activities they can get involved.

Since animals cannot say “Thank you” to us even if we treat them nice, therefore, it is a very good way to cultivate kindness through animals. And by cultivating kindness through actions from young will make this world a better place to live in.

    Keep up the good work!!

I love reading this blog post and the lovely pictures 🙂 There are many proud parents’ comments below that i have read also…makes me think how interesting and unique these group of kids are.

Many parents today takes pride in their children’s piano performances, choir concerts, sports competitions and many other performances which the kids put in effort weekly to train (generously paid by their parents). That is good if we don’t miss the trees for the forest. How many will actually make something in life with the ball games, with their piano and ballet classes etc? What is it exactly that the parents expects and how will it affect anyone else?

These kids in the pictures are great students, play sports and does activities other kids do too but they are doing something which perhaps a tiny % of their peers are engaged in. The pride their parents experience from witnessing what their kids are doing is impactful… they are using their talent and energies towards caring for other weaker life forms. Don’t you think they will grow up to be responsible adults who cares for others? Isn’t this what every parent would want for their kids.

What are we encouraging our kids to be spending their time on? Is it worthwhile as the early forming years will pass very quickly…I hope it is and you experience the joy and pride in witnessing a great individual blossoming.

Rinpoche is making this possible for the young people who have come in contact with him. Would you like your children to be involved to?

Dear Beatrix, Julien, Edward, Lucas and Sean,

I am so so very proud of you guys and am most priviledged to know you.

I always feel that animals are much better than man. Animals only kill another animal if they are threatened, for food and for survival. Animals have more positive emotions than man in general , and i rejoice that ABC is now formed to protect these beautiful creatures from man !

It really touches my heart that these beautiful children has such compassion and loving kindness for the animals and are spending their time (and money) on such a worthwhile cause.

I rejoice for the parents of these children ; what fantastic kids you have !!!

Love what you all are doing and love you lots. 🙂

What a wonderful way for young people to start their journey on compassion and care for all sentient beings. In real life it seems difficult for youngsters to show compassion to their peers as they fight over the smallest thing, to adults whom they feel are their care takers and providers. In such an environment they learn selfishness and to be takers.

Thanks to the wonderful idea of Rinpoche to encourage the ABC pioneers to care for animals who cannot say “thank you” and for such compassion and kindness and care to animals these youngsters give without agenda.

ABC pioneers are vegetarians, imagine no more KFC, MacDonalds and all that yummy food. I salute you guys and may you inspire such kindness from many others with your efforts and actions.

Thank you for being an inspiration.

Dear Rinpoche, thank you for sharing the ABC fanpage on your blog. It is a great honor to help in the spread of awareness of animal cruelty and to stop animal cruelty altogether. Especially, with Rinpoche as our guide. Rinpoche has always cared for animals and that is what inspired me to put my all into ABC and I do this because I love animals and wish to see a world were cruelty is something that is non-existant. As Leo Tolstoy said, “As long as there are slaughterhouses, there wil be battlefields”

  33. Adrian Chow on Jan 23, 2013 at 2:11 pm

Dear Beatrix, Edward, Lucas, Julian and Sean…well done on the efforts by setting up a group against animal cruelty online. And also congratulation to all your effort for now, the Animal Befrienders Coalition (ABC) Facebook Page had reached 38,151 Like!!! Wow!!! Liked.

Instead of spending your free time by just doing the norm like any other kids, you all have achieved something more meaningful by creating an awareness against animal cruelty. We as a whole in Kechara and your family and friends will definitely support all your effort. Gambateh!!!

  35. David Lai on Jan 23, 2013 at 11:33 am

    Dear ABC,

I hope you kids are reading this. Its wonderful that you guys have decided that you wanted to do more for others. I am sure you are very busy with school, homework, exams, serving your parents and extra-curricular activities. It is good that you are starting your ‘Dharma work’ so young because it will be a great way to give back to your parents, the Dharma and Rinpoche.

I am very proud and I wish I started out in the Dharma when I was your age too. Instead, I was just preoccupied with myself most of the time and now that my youth is gone, there’s nothing much in my youth to show for. You, on the other hand have so much to share later and the adventures you guys share in shaping this little coalition makes you grow and be more responsible for others. I am very sure that you guys will be alright later because it will shape you guys in the Dharma.

It’s just incredible how the Dharma is so beneficial to every and for all walks of life especially when it is put into practice. The quicker one put it into practice, the happier we become because the responsibility leads us towards being respectful of others and making them happy. I don’t think I need to take too much already as I am sure Rinpoche would have shared with you guys already. I wanted to say, congratulations and good luck with the caring for animals and your work with the coalition.

Beatrix, Julian, Lucas, Edward and Sean are really great kids, they are matured, intelligent, and a very kind heart.

they started this ABC is because they can’t sit there and see the animal got abused anymore, so they decided to stand up, do something to stop these cruel act. How brave are they.

Although they are kids, but their act is much matured than adult. We must give them all the support we can, we must support them, because they are doing something what we suppose to do and we didn’t do.

Thank you everyone for your kind act.

I’m happy and proud my two children, Beatrix and Edward, are involved with ABC. It’s something worth spending their time on instead of lazing around in the house watching TV, playing computer games or hanging out at the malls. The dharma work they do entails them to do research, read up and educate themselves on human values, something they may not get to learn in school.

Go all the way, guys! Love all five of you!

  49. jp on Jan 22, 2013 at 11:26 pm

Very cute! And very inspiring to be able to make a difference for others at such a young age. This is what our communities need if we want a better future for the next generation; love, kindness, compassion, and genuine care for others. In order to culltivate these qualities, it is necessary to start young so that it becomes second nature.

How wonderful if all our children grow up to be responsible and caring people. Then, the world will be a better place to live in.

  50. Girlie Ooi on Jan 22, 2013 at 11:11 pm

Thank you Rinpoche for giving us instructions to create awareness to tell people some animals are being treated nicely and most of the animals in the world have being slaughtered by human beings. We should not be picky in the sense of the animals that you love are treated better and other animals such as chickens should be slaughtered and eaten by us. So love all animals and don’t be picky. Please be a vegetarian and promote vegetarianism.

Congratulations to ABC! Even the initials are catchy. I am proud that you young Kecharians are so hardworking and putting dharma into action by setting up this coalition. It shows that you have absorbed and apply Rinpoche’s teachings on compassion. Its very sad that animals are being abused so cruelly these days. By creating this awareness and educating more people on kindness, we pray that innocent animals will have a safe and loving environment to co-exist with human beings. Continue to work hard and I wish you all every success.

  63. Joy on Jan 22, 2013 at 6:28 pm

Wonderful rejoicing to NEWS!!! This is such a meritorious compassionate department, ABC, that directly helps those that are weak and without a voice! I am so proud of these beautiful kinds behind it for they get to develop loving kindness towards animals and those that are helpless and cannot voice it out. It is good to develop these qualities in children for while they are young because then when they are grown up, they it will be easier for them to develop an altruistic compassionate heart.

Here is also a chance for these kids to learn how to give back to the society and learn the art of giving without expecting anything back, instead of always being spoil by their whims and wants and demands from their parents… they learn how to be not selfish and always think of themselves…. how can they expect anything back from an animal that is injured? What brilliant idea that Rinpoche has skillfully come up with for these fortunate kids to learn how to care for others, be responsible, be courageous, be kind and do this and collect merits! Wow!!! Kudos to all of you… may you grow, your department grow and be a change that you want to see in the world and for our future! xxx

Congratulations to each and everyone of you founding members of ABC. A simple acronym for the group with a deep meaning behind it. The facebook account is updated constantly with plenty of information and is coming up to 38,152 likes already. Well done and keep it up!

It is wonderful to see such youthful enthusiasm, determination and hard work. A good example of how our youth will be the leaders of our future. The need to instill our youth, from a tender age, on basic moral discipline is vital in their eventual contribution back into society!

  65. Sharon Saw on Jan 22, 2013 at 4:17 pm

    Dear ABC

Congratulations to you on starting such a noble cause. Although you started awhile back, you have been consistently updating your facebook with interesting articles and also fundraising for your cause. Great job!

I love the fact that these dharma kids are doing something positive in their off-school time to benefit others. What did we do as kids when we were that age? And it is all from the kind guidance of HE Tsem Rinpoche. Sean (my son) was inspired to be vegetarian on his own accord due to Rinpoche’s sharing of compassionate eating and the other kids are also vegetarian too – so they really walk the talk. Rinpoche always says how can we say we love animals and eat them??

I hope these kids will inspire others to do the same thing – to promote being kind to animals and being vegetarian also.

Thank you to Tsem Rinpoche for guiding the dharma kids to think of others at this young age. With the dharma as their compass, i am sure they will grow up to be responsible youths and adults, which is all every parent wants for their children.

Wonderful work, kids.. keep it up!

  66. Khong Jean Mei on Jan 22, 2013 at 4:04 pm

I’m so happy to see these young adults so passionate about animal cruelty.

I really am proud of how they actively get their friends to join in, they are proud to be vegetarian and they openly show that they care a lot about animals.

Many kids nowadays will not care at all about how animals are being treated. Some are ashamed (or lazy) and try to fit in with whatever the majority people of their age thinks.

These ABC kids are the movers and shakers of their generation. They stand out from those in the year to show that it’s awesome to be different, it’s awesome to stand for a cause.

The ABC kids have now surpassed all the other animal groups in Malaysia with 38,152 Facebook fans… KEEP IT UP, GUYS!!!!!!! 🙂

I hope to see lots more kiddies join in 🙂

  67. Li Kim on Jan 22, 2013 at 3:56 pm

I cannot help but smile brightly reading this article because I rejoice that young adults show kindness to beings who will never say Thank You. Rinpoche is so kind to take them on for this and teaching them all about compassion and kindness. I am grateful to Rinpoche.

My sons are a part of ABC (Julien and Lucas) and I so proud of them that they can think beyond themselves. Of course they have thier fun and fancies , now they have Dharma on top of it all like icing on the cake. Are they “angels”? No…. far from but they have a headstart now to be adults who will have compassion, kindness, intelligence, wit – I will eventually “lose” them to the world and they will have to face their own set of issues in life, now that they have Dharma in their lives I can be assured that they will be able to make choices which are based on the values I have mentioned. It is comforting to know this.

Thank you to Rinpoche and Kechara that my kids can receive the Buddha’s teachings at such a young ageeeeeeee.

  68. choi sheem on Jan 22, 2013 at 3:46 pm

To the 5 young Kecharians(Beatrix, Edward. Julien, Lucas, and Sean)who started ABC, I would like to congratulate you all for starting this project. You have all learnt very well on being kind and compassionate and now you are putting Rinpoche’s teaching into action. May you be able to go very far to create awareness against cruelty to animals. And may you also get more young and energetic youths to support and work towards this noble cause. We are so proud of you all.

  69. Paris on Jan 22, 2013 at 3:24 pm

This is great and wonderful to hear of young people taking on such an honorable project for the sake of other beings. While most children their age wouldn’t think twice chowing down on fried chicken or, worse, pelting stones at stray dogs, these kiddies put their peers and grown ups to shame by being vegetarian and spending their free time to raise awareness of the welfare of other beings. The same can’t be said for many others their age, or even of people twice their age!

I think it’s great that more and more young people are developing this consciousness at an early age for it’ll make a tremendous difference for when they’re older in the way they interact with the world around them and relate to other beings. Rinpoche has pointed out that children who have been raised with an awareness and love of animals grow up to be much less angry, less selfish people who think twice about hurting others; children who grow up in families that openly abuse animals carry on this deeply selfish and arrogant trait through to their adulthood and find it very hard to understand why their actions might harm others. So while some think that it may be “just animals”, our treatment of their reflects a lot more about us and humans than it does about animals.

Thank you to the 5 wonderful kiddies of ABC for setting an example for a new generation, for showing the whole world (not just young people) what it means to take that extra step forward to make a difference in lives of many beings, to educate others on the most basic qualities of kindness. Here’s wishing you ALL THE BEST in your projects and may you bring happiness and relief to millions of animals! The Animal Kingdom is lucky to have you as their friends 🙂

Congratulations to the youths who have taken up the responsibility to save animals through creating awareness among Kecharians and also the public. They have taken this important step to do something great in their lives at a young age especially to animals which could not say thank you. This coalition will definitely generate more kindness and compassion in the society and with the guidance from Rinpoche, it could only become bigger.

Keep up the good work guys and may this be the start of many greater things to come. Well done!

  72. Sheryl KH (JB) on Jan 22, 2013 at 1:01 pm

It is nice to see youths putting their time and efforts into good causes. The intention behind ABC is a good one, in addition to this working in a group also helps to cultivate many attitudes and behaviours that will become useful when these kids all grow up and step into society, things such as communication, conflict management, team work, self-sacrificing for bigger goals, etc.

There will be much hurdles along the way, and perhaps will be even more for ABC as they are learning while doing at the same time. But the paybacks will be great as well, because they learn compassion and leadership skills at the same time and while they are still very young.

    I wish ABC great success!!!

Du Fu (712-770 AD), also known as Tu Fu, was a prominent Chinese poet of the Tang Dynasty, often considered one of the greatest alongside Li Bai. He was a poet-historian and a poet-sage, known for his realistic depictions of human suffering and reflections on the troubled times of his era. His poems, reflecting his personal experiences and the political instability of the time, have had a lasting impact on both Chinese and Japanese literary traditions.
    Interesting read.

H H Kyabje Pabongka Dechen Nyingpo is by far one of the most popular and influential Gelug religious figures of the 20th Century. One of Phabongkha’s most important aristocratic students, Lhalu Lhacham Yangdzom Tsering relationship to her teacher and his lineage teachings goes along way .She is famously remembered for is her unwavering devotion towards her guru, HH Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. Yangdzom Tsering’s Shatra family were ancient sponsors and students of the Gelug tradition and had apparently been patrons of Tsongkhapa the founder of the Gelug school. The life stories of Lady Lhalu Lhacham Yangdzom as mentioned by Joona Repo is indeed inspiring. How her life struggles with tragedies, and her devotion to dorje Shugden and the Gelug tradition throughout her life.

Looking at these pictures remained me of my first pilgrimage to Wu Tai San. With the blessings of our guru, we able to visit Wu Tai San a significant Buddhist pilgrimage site . In fact it never did come to my mind that I am fortunate given a chance to go as I am still very new then. Upon hearing about the pilgrimage I got myself register without much thought. The history and stories of Wu Tai San has inspired me to go there. Interesting the Emperors Kangxi and Qianlong of China are closely connected to WuTai San. Wu Tai San located in Shanxi Province, China renowned as the home of Lord Manjushri the bodhisattva of wisdom, with different emanations of the bodhisattva residing on each of the five peaks. The area is dotted with over 50 temples and monasteries, many of which are historical and architecturally significant. Those temples built over 7 dynasties housing numerous Buddhist relics. Wutai Shan also offers stunning scenery, including snow-capped peaks, forests, and streams. Wu Tai San is one of the four Sacred Buddhist mountains of China, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Wutai Shan was known to be a mystical and sacred site inhabited by divine spirits, accompanied by unusual events, such as miraculous light appearances at night.
We visited all the Holy sites, making offerings and doing prayers at each sites. We even have the opportunity to collect holy stones for future statue insertion or to keep on our altars. Times flies as our pilgrimage ended with so many stories to share with the rest.

Padmasambhava, the Lotus-born Guru, also known as Guru Rinpoche is a legendary tantric Buddhist master who is widely revered in Tibetan Buddhism. He is seen as the second Buddha particularly within the Nyingma .He was a legendary Indian Buddhist mystic credited with introducing Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. As found in Buddhist scriptures Padmasambhava birth is often associated with legends and prophecies. Interesting…… Padmasambhava is depicted with eight manifestations, each reflecting a different aspect of his miraculous activities. Interesting article .

Milarepa Cave, situated high in the Himalayan mountain of Tibet, a sacred cave beckons pilgrims and spiritual seekers from across the globe. Milarepa Cave, a site of profound significance in Tibetan Buddhism, is merely a geological wonder. This sacred cave is also a living testament to the power of meditation and devotion. Its where an 11th-century yogi and poet who spent transformative years in solitary practice. Milarepa Cave graces Tibet’s rugged yet stunning landscapes, a region renowned for its deep spiritual heritage and breath-taking natural beauty. The cave’s importance is inseparable from a revered figure and the enduring legacy of Jetsun Milarepa a revered yogi and poet in Tibetan Buddhism. Milarepa Cave stands not just as a geological formation but as a powerful symbol of spiritual transformation and the enduring strength of Tibetan Buddhism. Reading this interesting cave had me Google for more information about this sacred cave. Numerous stories and legends surround Milarepa’s time in the cave, enhancing its mystical aura.
Thank you Rinpoche for this interesting post.

I wanted to take a moment to share a recent experience with you regarding my Instagram account. Unfortunately, my account was hacked, which was both frustrating and disappointing. Losing access to something that plays a significant role in my business and personal connections was incredibly stressful. What made the situation even more challenging was discovering that Meta does not have a dedicated support team to assist users facing account compromises. With so many people experiencing this issue daily, it’s alarming that their recovery process is not more accessible or efficient. After numerous failed attempts to recover my account through Meta’s standard procedures, I was fortunate enough to get in touch with a member of the Meta recovery department, @Rothsteincode on X (formerly Twitter), and via email at rothsteincode@gmail.com Their expertise and guidance were invaluable, and thanks to their assistance, I was able to regain full access to my account.
While I am incredibly grateful for their help, this experience has highlighted a major issue—Meta needs to implement better security measures and provide more reliable support for users dealing with these kinds of problems. The lack of direct customer support is unacceptable, considering how vital social media platforms have become for businesses and individuals alike.I wanted to share this with you in case you or anyone you know ever faces a similar issue. If you ever find yourself in this unfortunate situation, I highly recommend reaching out to @Rothsteincode for assistance. Hopefully, Meta will take action to improve their security policies and customer service in the near future.Thank you for taking the time to read this. Stay safe online, and let’s continue to support each other in this digital space.

A great history of a great yogi which I do enjoy reading , reading over it again and again. Jetsun Milarepa was a famous Tibetan siddha, known as a murderer when he was a young man. Who later turning to Buddhism and becoming a highly accomplished Buddhist disciple. Generally considered as one of Tibet’s most famous yogis and spiritual poets, whose teachings are known among several schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Milarepa’s story is one of struggle, anguish, resolve, and triumph all of which make him recognizably. Practicing these teachings for many years in isolated mountain retreats in caves such as caves hidden deep in the mountains of Tsum Valley. That’s where Milarepa attained enlightenment and gained fame for his incredible perseverance in practice and for his spontaneous songs of realisation. Milarepa is said to be the first to achieve the state of Vajradhara in one lifetime. That’s incredible.

H.H Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was a Gelug Lama, a sharp analyst, master of philosophical debate and a Tantric practitioner. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was a disciple of the third Trijang Rinpoche, junior tutor of the 14th Dalai Lama. Rinpoche was known as a strong, detached and wrathful lama having impeccable knowledge of all rituals, art and science. Thousands of Westerners have received and benefited from his teachings both in the West and in India and gave many empowerments and teachings as well. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was renowned for his many actions of powerful magic . We are fortunate and blessed listening to the powerful voice of Kyabje Zong Rinpoche’s precious teachings as in this blog.

Visiting Tibet, holy Gaden Monastery is everyone dream and a once life time. Of course if we have the means to visit again will be great. End of December 2008 and early January 2009 our Guru H E Tsem Rinpoche with a small group students visited Tibet. Thousands of pilgrims, visitors and tourists around the world have visited this incredible holy land for the last 600 years. Tsem Rinpoche visited Tibet for the first time with an oxygen tank. I am fortunate to visit this holy place with my Dharma brothers and sisters years back.
With our Guru blessing we went without any without any hitch. Visited most of the monasteries and could feel the powerful energies there. Looking at those pictures in this blog reminds me of trip there.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Interesting….. a ground breaking documentary by world BBC where everyone should watch. BBC did mentioned and documented that Jesus was a Buddhist monk and that he had spent some years in India. I would not know about this till I came across this blog. Many people most probably too. Interesting watch one should not miss. Jesus was a religious leader revered in Christianity, one of the world’s major religions. He is regarded by most Christians as the Incarnation of God. Historical evidence indicates that Jesus was well acquainted with Buddhism. Historical evidence indicates that Jesus knew about Buddhism. Other evidence, while perhaps apocryphal, indicates that he spent most of his so-called lost years outside Judea, possibly in Kashmir to study Buddhism exclusively.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

The Great Buddhas of Bamiyan were two monumental Buddhist statues built around 600 CE. A holy site for Buddhists on the Silk Road, historically a caravan route linking the markets of China with those of the Western world. The two most prominent statues were the giant standing sculptures of the Buddhas .It was the site of several Buddhist monasteries where monks at the monasteries lived as hermits. It was until in 2001, both statues were destroyed by the Taliban . Before being blown up in 2001, they were the largest examples of standing Buddha carvings in the world .Buddhism was eliminated in Afghanistan by the 13th century during the Mongol conquests. Sadly all statues depicting humans in Afghanistan was destroyed. They were perhaps the most famous cultural landmarks of the region, and the site was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Despite the Buddhas’s destruction, the ruins continue to be a popular culture landmark, where many locals, pilgrims and tourist visit the site.
Thank you Rinpoche for this interesting blog.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
