Is it a mother’s love?

May 21, 2012 | Views: 2,763

Dear friends,

This is a well made Paranormal real life story. Nothing scary in this episode, but very powerful show of love and willpower. I want you to please watch this carefully and see how a mother reaches out to save her child. Her will was so strong she left her body. The child saw a light leaving the mother and going to the road although she died and ‘found’ people to save her child. Very touching and beautiful story. This is what I believe happened, what do you think?

Please watch this great video… touching…

Very touching story. …..the natural state of motherhood is unselfishness. A mother’s love lasts for all eternity. It’s a perfect connection that can never be undone. A mother’s love is unconditional and eternal. That was seen in the video of how Christine will do in order to save her son Nicky. Her willpower so strong, she reached out to save her son by all means even though she is dead. It’s really touching, that’s a mother’s love.
Second video where Kenny and his colleagues saw was definitely a UFO. After all UFO or aliens do exist . We are not alone . Even though they don’t know what it was , its so sure it’s a alien’s space ship trying to attack them.
Thank you Rinpoche for this wonderful sharing

A touching paranormal story about a mother’s love for a young child that was so powerful that it stretched out beyond death to protect and ensure that her child was rescued. This story is haunting in a most touching and not horrifying way. A true story, it ends well as the child was rescued and only then did the whole story come to light.

Yes, an extraordinary story of such tremendous willpower of the newly dead mother, who used every means to convey the message that investigations must be carried out earnestly to find the two of them even though it had already been 5 days since the mother and child had disappeared from the radar. Reason? Her child was still alive and must be found and rescued before it was too late!

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing a most touching and extraordinary story of mother-love!

Aren’t there teachings about what to do if one dies by surprise? I think it is tragic that the mother died. I am very glad the boy was saved. Thank God she had agreed to call some people to check in. I have had chats with my son about why it is ok to ask “Where are you?” even when becoming more independent. I am glad if the mother’s energy combined with those who felt connected to them generated enough action to find and rescue the boy. “I would do it, if I suddenly died and my kid needed help.” Don’t know if it is possible, but….

Dear Rinpoche, this video have shown us a mother will do anything in order to save the child even after death. But I’ve also read cases such as parents torturing or killing their own child on newspapers, the problem is the child is still young and I don’t think he/she did something so wrong that would make the parents kill him/her.

  5. beatrix ooi on Nov 1, 2013 at 12:03 pm

The first clip was very sad and touching. When Christine’s father was talking about her, I could see that he was trying to hold back his tears, her parents were heartbroken when they got the bad news. The love Christine had for her child was overwhelming, she still ‘looked after’ her son after she has passed away. This is something very incredible, it’s definitely the love of a mother.

As for the second clip, I think it was a miracle that both of the officers were able to see the ‘light’ flying in the sky. I do believe that paranormal creatures such as ghosts, bigfoots, UFO’s etc do exist.

Amazing story of a mother’s love that even at death… a mother will always look out for her children. Although I can appreciate her love for her children but I am also sad to know that the mother is in the “spirit” form which means she is still very attached to her environment and obviously her kids.

So this again reminds me of Rinpoche’s teachings and advice for at the time of our deaths, what we think about and what we’re so attached to in our lives will be enhanced and be in our minds at that time when we are dying. Hence, this is not so good in a sense because she is currently stuck in the “spirit” realm. This also proves that reincarnation exist.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this touching and heartwarming story with us.
A mother’s love is one of the most powerful love to be found on earth. Not only for humans but for the animal world. So many stories we have read or heard of how a mother bear, tiger, lion , dog, cat, elephant who would sacrifice her life to save her litter of cubs, babies, puppies, kittens from harm.
A mother’s unconditional love for her offspring is selfless, courageous and boundless. Even after death as shown in the video.
What a mother would do for her child is beyond words. And this is where, as Buddhists , we respect all living beings as precious as they may have been our mother in one of our many past lives.

  8. Jessica Yap on Nov 6, 2012 at 1:53 pm

I watched this video with my sis Pammie and i was really touched by the story. So many questions that were left unanswered which i am sure would be pretty tough to answer unless we truly believe that there are beings other than us that are ‘unseen’. A mother’s love is powerful indeed.
That is why we practice vegetarianism because if we believe in Karma, why can’t we accept the fact that the meat we are about to consume were once our beloved mother from our past lives?
    Thank you for sharing Rinpoche!

  9. Wan Wai Meng on Jul 3, 2012 at 9:59 pm

The mom was truly determined to save her child, this story is so moving. A mother will go through hell to protect her children that is the greatness of a mother’s love. I do hope the mother’s spirit go beyond just being a spirit and know that her work is done, she saved her child. For a child to survive five days without water and food is truly amazing!

Such a touching paranormal story~~~ Thank You Rinpoche sharing this story.
No language or measurement can express the power, beauty, heroism, compassionate and majesty of a Mother’s Love. Is extremely strong!
And i strongly believe that, paranormal is happening every single place, any time, around the whole world and is unexplainable.

  13. Jace Chong on Jun 12, 2012 at 1:26 am

Thanks Rinpoche for sharing the video. I like the series of video too. I believe the light was manifested by the mom to do something for the boy.

Out of love, human can do things out of the “range” of human ability. From the video, we could see that the most powerful thing in us is love.

We should aware the power we have and utilize it in beneficial way. We love our Guru, parents, siblings, friends, pets, strangers, animals…we should overcome anything in us that blocking us to do good thing for them, which is practicing the real Buddhism.

  14. DR on Jun 5, 2012 at 9:02 am

It does not matter why, who, how it happened. I would just like to leave it as that a mother’s love knows no boundaries. My wishful thinking is that if everyone of us can develop this kind of strong love for every sentient being that crosses our path, the world would be a much beautiful place.

  15. Li Kheng on May 29, 2012 at 12:00 pm

Wow, it is amazing what the power of love can do! Imagine if we apply the strength of our love in more of the things with do, with more people etc. The impact love will have in our world will be swift and vast.

In some ways, the way mankind get together to support each other in tragedy like the Twin Tower is a manifestation of love. So, we should not wait till tragedy strike to give love but develop the courage and habit to do it everyday.

Thank you Rinpoche for showing us what love can do. Thank you Rinpoche for reminding us that true love exists.

It is so touching me till I want come out tears, when I watch this video…
This is the truly mother love, that no matter what happen, the mother will always try to protect their son…

  17. edward on May 25, 2012 at 7:58 pm

It is a very touching, the boy is so lucky to have a mother that love him so much until the mother can control her soul to form a body at the road side to attract people to and her so that she can save her son.
That shows that people can care for a person like Chirstin save her precious son Nick.

  18. Jeffrey Yee on May 24, 2012 at 11:42 pm

Wow Christie’s love for her son is so strong she could actually control herself even after leaving her body to find help. She was even so considerate as to maintain in a more subtle form for the lady to notice. Imagine her standing upright waving her hands…no shadow…

A very touching story indeed but I still find it a bit spooky. There really is nothing greater than a mother’s love, which is equivalent to a Guru’s love. So lucky to have them both.

Thank you for sharing another good video Rinpoche.

True love can overcome and create lots of miracles. In this video, the mother after she died, her soul is there to protect. She trying every methods to reach out to save her child. The will power and minds power is so strong. Hope she is not attached to the child after the child been save.
Another aspect, this paranormal video is very well develop. Making it very excited and interesting.

  21. Victor Phang on May 23, 2012 at 11:46 am

Very touching story. Although the mother already died but because of her love (compassion) she could use her consciousness to look for whatever way to let people know where they were so that her son could be safe as soon as possible. Possibly that was karmic connection between the mother and selected people who able to dream of or feel the “hints”.
Thank you Rinpoche for the sharing.
    Take very good care
    With love,

  22. Lim Tat Ming on May 23, 2012 at 2:19 am

It moved my heart so much when the officer found the scene of the accident and saved Nick! It was amazing that Nick could still be alive! Unfortunately Christine had died leaving the son that she had loved so dearly.

From the account from all the relevant parties in this story, it could only be the love of a mother of her child that had manifested the apparition in the car at the accident scene as witnessed by Nick. That apparition also explained Karen’s premonition and Deborah’s witness of the naked dead woman on the road.

Thanks to the officer who went beyond the call of duty to save the child.

We know that the mother is still in the intermediate state after death. Her love and concern for her son could have caused her to perform the ‘extraordinary’ action which is unexplainable. Normally a bardo being (in this case Christine before she takes rebirth in her next life) cannot communicate with her family members or anyone else of her previous life even though she could perceive them.

I believe Christine had saved her son. Christine had displayed a true love of a mother for her son.

Thank You Rinpoche for sharing this warm, touching and inspiring real-life story.

  23. Jasline Tay (MBF) on May 23, 2012 at 12:35 am

    Very touching … Cried a while….
This reminds me of a book that I read years back by David Eddings it was a fantasy story book it mention that when you have the will you have the way, it is in deed that will power of the mother to find a way to save her son.
    A mother’s love for a child will never falters…

  24. David Loh on May 22, 2012 at 8:33 pm

Even in this modern age, miracles happens. A touching video of a mother’s unconditional love just like Buddha’s unconditional love of all beings.

The mother in question here, even after death tries by all means to save her son. This shows that a mother’s love has no bounds. After watching this video, are we going to love our mothers more? If so, what about all other sentient beings whom we were supposed to treat and love as our mothers. Think about what your mother has done for you.

All mothers in similar situations would sacrifice all for their children just like what Christine did for her son, Nick. Don’t forget fathers too! Hahaha. A little something for all fathers out there as Father’s Day is drawing near.

  25. Natalie on May 22, 2012 at 7:55 pm

Thank you for this video, I found it very touching. Christine’s love and determination was so strong she was able to help her son in the afterlife. She seemed to have great intelligence in knowing who to reach out to in order to show where her son was, like her aunt and even a stranger. The apparition of the naked woman had no shadow.I have read beings who have passed away who are in the Bardo have a perceived body but do not produce a shadow. It is something you can check for to see if you are dead, as sometimes the beings do not realise. In the book ‘Peaceful death, Joyful Rebirth’ by Tulku Thondup there are some very interesting accounts of what people experienced who have passed away and then come back to life. You can read it here if interested. http://books.google.co.uk/books/about/Peaceful_Death_Joyful_Rebirth.html?id=uus4QutGSIwC

    1. Rinpoche’s memory of people whom have helped him in his life never fails him but only adds on as inspiration in working hard and good at what he does to repay their kindness.
    2. I have long heard from Rinpoche himself, his experiences, the people whom have helped him from his childhood until now. Rinpoche never forgets the kindness he has received whether small or big, He views it the same, love is love, so is kindness. What stuck out here is that Anila’s stories match exactly what Rinpoche has recounted over the past. It inspires me to do the same. Gratitude is a hallmark of a great man!
    3. Anila has a very strong presence of kindness, from her speech though unclear at times, she exudes a very strong and loving energy. I find it hard to think of what the community has labelled her as being a crazy woman back then. I think it is the same thing whenever someone is going onto a spiritual path, they are bound to be bad mouthed by others.
    4. I love Rinpoche’s passion for the Dharma, Rinpoche would go through all sorts of trouble and obstacles in order to come close with his Guru, Dharma centre and his Dharma books. I had the same experience before when my folks would get the Police to come get me to go home from the temples when I was young. There is no doubt that Rinpoche’s yearning for Dharma has led him to great heights – meeting His Lamas, studying in Gaden and now, building Kechara!
    5. Rinpoche’s Guru devotion towards every single of His Lamas are far beyond compare! We always listen to Rinpoche just mentioning HH Kyabje Zong Rinpoche but deep down his heart, Rinpoche treats all his Gurus all the same. The same loving, the same devotion, the same dedication. I find this amazing because Rinpoche has got 14 gurus and he treats them all equally.
    6. When Rinpoche really had nothing and wrote home asking for financial help. It is amazing how his foster parents had the heart not to even sustain their only son with USD$50/month. It is due to Anila’s kindness we have Rinpoche today. Without her, much cannot be achieved. We would not know Rinpoche, Tsongkhapa, Gaden and everything that Rinpoche has brought us!
    7. Rinpoche’s practice of the 8 verses of mind transformation is far beyond anyone else whom I know. I find it hard to decipher what it means to be hurt by someone else and then to repay that person with more kindness. From Rinpoche’s own action itself, I now understand how he had to bear this childhood burden and that of other people whom have wronged Rinpoche. It is by absorbing this sadness and transforming it into energy which will bring us onto the next level and propel us onto the path of spirituality.
    8. I believe when we are faced with diversity and adverse conditions, the only thing which can help us is our devotion to our Guru and the positive karma which we have accumulated in the past. Like Rinpoche, he has shown us with his life how we can adapt onto difficulties by changing our perspectives.

  27. June Kang on May 22, 2012 at 6:53 pm

Is something that very hard to believe but it happened. Can’t believe that a mother love is so powerful, even on the spot she die, she still find way to get people to save her child. All mother in the world, you are great.

  28. David Lai on May 22, 2012 at 4:56 pm

I love this Paranormal story very much and I truly believed that it was the mother’s spirit that appeared as the light and protected the boy by appearing at the side of the road. I don’t think that is impossible because the woman before she passed away was headstrong and independent.

She loved her son very much and that was probably what she was concerned for when she passed away. That made her hover in the vicinity to look for help. Fortunately, help did come just in time to save the boy. What a beautiful, beautiful story of a mother’s love. I could not resist a tear especially when the boy, all grown up, appeared to relate what happened. It was really touching.

A mother’s love knows no boundaries, even at death. This real life story shows us that the mother Christine will protect her son no matter what in making sure that Nikki is safe and rescued.

So, it is true that when someone dies, their consciousness is still hanging around what they are attached to, in this case, her son NIkki. Christine’s consciousness was there to make sure that Nikki is safe and also emanate into a naked woman to attract attention of passer-bys.

It is truly love out of the ordinary.

  30. Datuk May on May 22, 2012 at 1:33 pm

A great story about Mother’s love and her ability in death to have her son saved.

What is most amazing is that when the MIND has decided to do something, it can be done.

This real live story proves that the MIND lives on even after the physical body is gone. The mind of the Mother continued the pursuit to save her son.

Another evidence that when the body is gone, the MIND lives on to reincarnation. Great insight for reflection on 8 verses of mind transformation from this story.

  31. Uncle Eddie on May 22, 2012 at 12:49 pm

A mother’s love is truly the kindest of all and the most pitiful. Their suffering is unbearable. Right in a jiffy, when a loved one or when a child is hurt or in danger, it is like an arrow has been shot into her heart. For a mother sentient being to be suffering like this, no suitable words can be used to descibe. All beings are said to be the source of all our own past, present and future happiness, especially our compassionate and caring mother beings, who are suffering even more seriously in this episode of example is completely touching and beautiful. May all mother sentient beings be free from sufferings and pains. Om Mani Padme Hum.

  32. Doreen on May 22, 2012 at 12:12 pm

Even at death, this young mother’s love to her son is so great. She finds ways to communicate to the living, as giving dreams to her aunt and also to the lady stranger, as to let them know where is her son lying helplessly. When her son recalls the moment of accident and after, he said that he saw bright lights coming out from his mom body and appears to be pure and watching over him, it was so emotional and yet so sad. She is so selfless even at death.

  33. lewkwanleng on May 22, 2012 at 11:40 am

I like this “Paranormal Witness” series. It sounded real and I hope it is real I have heard and watched many people talked about leaving the body experience, and to me, I feel it is very possible that the mother’s mind was there to help the kid.

I am glad the kid has good memory of her mother.

  34. Li Kim on May 22, 2012 at 2:29 am

Miracles do happen… It was indeed paranormal especially when the grown up Nick recalled what he saw. A mother’s love is unconditional and infinite. Even in death, the mother made sure people could find her surviving son. How she did it with the help of supernatural powers will always be left unknown but the power of the love is the key that it happened.

Thank you Rinpoche of such a touching video.

  35. Wendy Loh on May 22, 2012 at 2:18 am

This documentary is very well made. Who says that paranormal shows must be spooky and scary? It has a strong human element to it that touches the viewers. The unconditional love exhibited by the mother to save her child is overwhelming. I too believe that it was her love that kept her child alive as she brought in many different people into the picture to rescue the boy.

Thank you for sharing this program with us, Rinpoche. It is a good reference and learning point for the Tsem Paranormal Zone team. 🙂

    Warmest regards,

    Dear Rinpoche,

Thank you for sharing this video of a very moving story of a closely knitted family. The agony of Christine’s dad and mum in frantically looking for their daughter and grandson. I believe it was the love of Christine Skubish for her son Nick that compelled her to ‘show’ herself lying on the road to attract the attention of Deborah Hoyt who has been able to provide a lead to a good cop in Rich Strasser that subsequently led him to discover the car wreck in the ravine. Nick is lucky to make it and live to tell us this incredible love story. He believed it could be an angel or his mum who has saved him from near death. Some of us may think that Nick is lucky to be alive, but I think Nick has been given a chance to live to do great things in his life.

  37. Julia Tan on May 22, 2012 at 12:02 am

Due to the mother’s carelessness, accident happened. Fortunately the boy is alive and he survived. The mother die but manifested as a spirit to guard and save him. The child was just sit next to the mother’s body quietly without knowing that the mother already dead. That’s how strong the mother’s love is…

  38. Sheryl (@echo) on May 21, 2012 at 9:29 pm

Watched this on my train ride home from work… So touching and I felt such strong love a mother had for her child. Reminded me of the Japanese movie ‘dark waters’ I watched many years ago. It was a horror movie but the love of the mother who sacrificed herself to save her daughter from harm moved me to tears and I felt no fear but only warmth and love at the end of the movie…..

  40. Pastor Susan on May 21, 2012 at 5:43 pm

Our realities are pretty much based on the capabilities of our logic and understanding. On this basis, everybody’s power of logic, intelligence, power of comprehension and understanding varies… thus, I’d think our experience of realities may vary slightly from one person to the next.

In Buddhism, we are exposed to an entirely different way of understanding truths and realities. We may or may not understand and accept it immediately. Us not able to understand or accept doesn’t mean it’s to true.

In this video, the people involved couldn’t explain why they felt a certain way so strongly but it drove them to act on it, to move, to search, to make calls,..the conviction was obviously so strong though it’s beyond any logic.

Must our realities be the truth ONLY when we can comprehend it logically?

I believe there are so much more to what i can comprehend and see right now. Developing our minds for logical thinking is very important…developing our minds for wisdom and insight is far more superior.

This whole search for Christine and Nick was pretty much driven by UNEXPLAINABLE conviction from strangers and family members. I do believe that as unexplainable as it is, the mother’s consciousness connected with these people for help. I do not doubt at all that our consciousness can travel outside of our bodies.

  41. Adeline on May 21, 2012 at 4:46 pm

Yes, very beautiful and touching story even her child could see and sense the light leaving her mother’s body without being frightened,i strongly believed it’s a mother’s love, who was trying to seek help for her child after the car fell into a ravine that no one could actually notice there was a car accident.

  42. Deborah on May 21, 2012 at 4:38 pm

I had goose bumps not because its scary but because its touching.
I think it was his mum that saved him and the first thing that popped to mind was to double check my commitment and love as a mother to my kids. Not all mums have that kind of love that surpasses ‘normal’ limitations. keeps me wondering where i stand.
    good story on many aspects.

  43. Sharon Saw on May 21, 2012 at 3:54 pm

This was a very touching story… it does seem like the mother had reached out in any way possible to get help for her son. Another possible theory is that a nature spirit took the form of the mother to get help. I guess we will never know but what is definitely for sure is that a being from a different realm came to help, out of sheer compassion for the little boy. The fact that the boy survived for 5 days without food or drink is another miracle in itself.

Thank you for sharing the video and letting me reflect on the kindness and love we can have for one another.

Different religions and faiths have unique teachings ,and thwew is no right or wrong. All have their respective views of divinity, humanity’s relationship with the divine . Many faiths share common principles, like compassion and ethical conduct. All religions in the world teach us empathy, compassion, harmony and respect.
Love peace harmony kindness balance of mind health body and spirit. Respect for all things. That’s true religion. They differ in practices and methods, but they ultimately lead to the same goal.
Thank you Rinpoche interesting topic shared.

Thank you H E Tsem Rinpoche and Pastor Seng Piow for creating this YouTube channel which has benefited many people all over the world. Great idea indeed where we learn , from the Dharma sharing. Pastor Seng Piow first started Rinpoche YouTube channel years ago back 2006. A very powerful Dharma talk and sharing by Tsem Rinpoche that covers a wide range of topics, and with Rinpoche explanation we could understand better. Kechara blog team has compiled a collection of videos, for us . It did help me to understand and learn more of Dharma through those videos. More to learn for me . Merely by listening to Rinpoche voice is a blessing.
    Thanks again with folded hands……

He received extensive spiritual training from his father, deepened his studies under the famous scholar Chapa Chokyi Senge. By the time he was eighteen he had mastered the triple discipline of teaching, debate and composition. After his return to Sakya, he held the throne of the monastery for three years. He is the author of a famous commentary on the Bodhicharyavatara. He dedicated the rest of his life to studies and meditation. In 1182 he passed away age 41 into pure land of Sukhavati and said to have attained full Buddhahood.

A very clear explanation of Vajrayogini by Rinpoche . Reading and listening to the video in this blog explains well. Vajrayogini’s power is her ability to guide practitioners to enlightenment by transforming ordinary experiences, desire, and the ego into spiritual paths. Her form symbolizes the transformation of desire and ego into boundless empathy for all beings. Her practice aims to eradicate the ego, a root cause of suffering and attachment. In return which lead to a more vibrant, kind, and compassionate us.
    Thank you Rinpoche .

In Buddhism, holy relics are the sacred preserved cremated remains of the Buddha, and other enlightened beings. Holy relics are believed to carry the spiritual qualities, compassion, and wisdom of the enlightened being. And it serve as a powerful tool to connect practitioners with the Buddha’s path to enlightenment. Throughout history, relics have played an important role in major world religions and are considered to hold great spiritual significance. They are revered in Buddhist communities around the world. Sadly to these days only a handful of these sites exist today. These holy relic sites are rare. Many Buddhists make it a point to visit these precious relic sites . Merely by touching, seeing, and even thinking about relics can connect anyone with the spiritual power of the Buddha. Each relic is believed to carry a part of the Buddha’s essence, and worshipping them is seen as a way to connect with the Buddha’s wisdom and compassion. These sacred objects, often including bones, hair, robes, and so on are venerated through offerings and prayers, allowing Buddhists to connect with the Buddha’s wisdom and compassion and accumulate merit. Wow China had many holy sites which housed various relics of Buddha Shakyamuni. Just to mentioned some of these holy sites in Chiana such as Tooth relic at Lingguang Temple, Beijing,Grand True Relic Pagoda at Famen Temple, Shaanxi, Rare skull relic enshrined in Foding Palace, Nanjing and Buddha’s bone relic at Ayuwang Temple, Ningbo. Looking the beautiful relics temple and reading this article is a blessing. More so if we go on pilgrimages to these holy sites.
Thank you Rinpoche for this wonderful sharing.

It was through the 6th Panglung Oracle the Dalai Lama had a safe and successful escape from Tibet to India. That’s in 1959, following Dorje Shugden advice and instructions which route to escape. This story in comics form is a great way to let more people know the truth. Senior officials from Monastery eyewitness affidavits signed, they were the monks who travelled together with the Dalai Lama. All these cannot be wrong .A truth and only truth to be shared with.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Believing that the paranormal can be real, is one way to escape the reality we live in and make it a little more interesting. People sometimes want to believe something more is out there than only a platonic routine life. Not everyone believes in ghosts, but there have been plenty of celebrity ghost sightings over the years. Most scientists deny that ghosts exist, but I do believe ghost rather spirits do exist . Ghosts are ingrained in many cultures, with people rising from the dead or being able to communicate from the beyond. The human fascination for the unexplained plays a big role in this world.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing such an interesting videos. Sound scary. Doing prayers and dedicated to them will be fine as long as we don’t’ get involved with them.

Opening Eye Chenrezigis a Buddhist practice and form of Chenrezig focused on healing physical eye problems and developing wisdom eyes. The practice involves prayers and mantras to develop compassion and it was transmitted by Lama Gangchen Rinpoche . This practice is designed to train one’s mind in making life beneficial for all sentient beings through the yoga of the Compassionate Buddha. Well this practice has been effective for those who sincerely had engaged in reciting the mantra consistently.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing methods to heal the defects, problems, and disturbances to our eyes.

Helmut Gassner, is a senior Buddhist monk from Austria also known as Venerable Gelong Jampa. After meeting Venerable Geshe Rabten Rinpoche back then ,his began to have an interest in Buddhism . Venerable Geshe Rabten Rinpoche had impressed him deeply so much so he began studying Tibetan language, Buddhist philosophy, debate and meditation. Throughout his lifetime, he has translated for many high lamas. He translated for HH the 14th Dalai Lama between 1979 and 1995. Helmut Gassner has recognized and value the knowledge of Dorje Shugden . He noticed the positive qualities, acknowledging Dorje Shugden’s significance, and developing a comprehensive, insightful of it. He even received many first-hand accounts of how Dorje Shugden has been extremely useful to the Dalai Lama. Following the Dalai Lama’s move to ban the practice of Dorje Shugden where discrimination and fights happened. The event didn’t bothered him much as he knew the truth that the practice of Dorje Shugden is an integral part of the Gaden Tradition. In 1999 at the Friedrich-Naumann-Foundation in Hamburg, Germany, he bravely spoke the truth regarding Dorje Shugden. His devotion to his teacher, the dharma and the truth compelled him to speak up . Interesting read.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing .

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
