Do Giants Exist?

Oct 30, 2015 | Views: 2,151

I recently came across this interesting article about giant skeletons excavated in Wisconsin, USA. I know that giant skeletons have always been rather controversial and a topic met with much doubt. After all, it must be quite difficult to imagine a human being, three times the size and height of an average 6 foot person. However, when proof and reports about this phenomena occur again and again, we should perhaps consider that, in the past, there may have been giants that walked on this earth.

As many would already know, I have always been interested in cryptic, bizarre and strange occurrences that surround our world. There are just so many undiscovered and interesting phenomena. When people read about something that does not reflect the ‘reality’ they know, they often simply brush it aside, thinking that it is perhaps just another hoax or gimmick. However, what is reality? Do we really know what reality is? Or is the reality we believe in just our fixed perceptions of how things are in the world? A fixed perception of anything is not healthy, not because we are bad people, but because we do not possess complete, full knowledge of the world.

I am not saying that we should go around believing everything we hear or read… Definitely not. But to keep an open mind in all aspects of life. Even in Dharma, we are taught not to just accept everything that is put forward to us. It is stated clearly in the Lamrim, and even spoken by the Buddha himself, to examine everything. The Lamrim teaches us to listen to the Dharma not with a closed mind, but with an open mind. Through this unbiased intake of information, we then can observe the results of applying such advice (in ourselves and others), and come to clear, logical conclusions, the true reality.

So, I want to share this article with everyone as I feel it may challenge some of your perceptions on what may or may not have existed in the past. Please read and share your thoughts with me.

The Great Smithsonian Cover-Up: 18 Giant Skeletons Discovered in Wisconsin

Here’s one for your “Forbidden Archaeology” file. Scientists are remaining stubbornly silent about a lost race of giants found in burial mounds near Lake Delavan, Wisconsin, in May 1912.

The dig site at Lake Delavan was overseen by Beloit College and it included more than 200 effigy mounds that proved to be classic examples of 8th century Woodland Culture.

But the enormous size of the skeletons and elongated skulls found in May 1912 did not fit very neatly into anyone’s concept of a textbook standard. They were enormous. These were not average human beings.

Strange Skulls

First reported in the 4 May 1912 issue of the New York Times, the 18 skeletons found by the Peterson brothers on Lake Lawn Farm in southwest Wisconsin exhibited several strange and freakish features.

Their heights ranged between 7.6 feet and 10 feet and their skulls…

“… presumably those of men, are much larger than the heads of any race which inhabit America to-day.”

They tend to have a double row of teeth, 6 fingers, 6 toes and like humans came in different races. The teeth in the front of the jaw are regular molars. Heads usually found are elongated believed due to longer than normal life span.

One must wonder how much can they lift if they were twice the size of an average human today? Are these the Giants the Bible & many other civilizations have in their history and painted on their walls?

The Bible in Genisis 6:4

“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old men of renown.”

Now this is faulty logic to any scientist out there because I am using religious/cultural history to fill a hole in science.

Over 200 Giant digs have been found in recent years. Giant skeleton finds have not made the local/national news since the 1950’s for the most part. It seems in most peoples opinion due to the fear that people would question evolution. If anything it was more a de-evolution.

In 2002, National Geographic reported a dozen Cyclops skeletons found in Greece that stood 12-15 1/2 Ft tall. That is 3 humans tall. One eye socket. Giants in history are typically cannibalistic in nature.

The reason why I am bringing up giants will all tie into politics, and world happenings. Look at a basketball hoop and add 5 feet. That tall. Greek Mythology talks about war with cyclops learning they had to bring down by taking out their legs rendering them slow and helpless.

American Giants (Red Hair Giants) with Egyptian writing on their tombs have been found in multiple locations.

Mystery of The Wisconsin Giants

Was this some sort of prank, a hoax played by local farm boys or a demented taxidermist for fun and the attention of the press? The answer is no.

The Lake Delavan find of May 1912 was only one of dozens and dozens of similar finds that were reported in local newspapers from 1851 forward to the present day. It was not even the first set of giant skeletons found in Wisconsin.

On 10 August 1891, the New York Times reported that scientists from the Smithsonian Institution had discovered several large “pyramidal monuments” on Lake Mills, near Madison, Wisconsin.

“Madison was in ancient days the centre of a teeming population numbering not less than 200,000,” the Times said. The excavators found an elaborate system of defensive works which they named Fort Aztalan.

“The celebrated mounds of Ohio and Indiana can bear no comparison, either in size, design or the skill displayed in their construction with these gigantic and mysterious monuments of earth — erected we know not by whom, and for what purpose we can only conjecture,” said the Times.

On 20 December 1897, the Times followed up with a report on three large burial mounds that had been discovered in Maple Creek, Wisconsin. One had recently been opened.

“In it was found the skeleton of a man of gigantic size. The bones measured from head to foot over nine feet and were in a fair state of preservation. The skull was as large as a half bushel measure. Some finely tempered rods of copper and other relics were lying near the bones.”

Giant skulls and skeletons of a race of “Goliaths” have been found on a very regular basis throughout the Midwestern states for more than 100 years. Giants have been found in Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and New York, and their burial sites are similar to the well-known mounds of the Mound Builder people.

The spectrum of Mound Builder history spans a period of more than 5,000 years (from 3400 BCE to the 16th CE), a period greater than the history of Ancient Egypt and all of its dynasties.

There is a “prevailing scholarly consensus” that we have an adequate historical understanding of the peoples who lived in North America during this period. However, the long record of anomalous finds like those at Lake Delavan suggests otherwise.

The Great Smithsonian Cover-Up

Has there been a giant cover-up? Why aren’t there public displays of gigantic Native American skeletons at natural history museums?

The skeletons of some Mound Builders are certainly on display. There is a wonderful exhibit, for example, at the Aztalan State Park where one may see the skeleton of a “Princess of Aztalan” in the museum.

But the skeletons placed on display are normal-sized, and according to some sources, the skeletons of giants have been covered up.

Specifically, the Smithsonian Institution has been accused of making a deliberate effort to hide the “telling of the bones” and to keep the giant skeletons locked away.

In the words of Vine Deloria, a Native American author and professor of law:

“Modern day archaeology and anthropology have nearly sealed the door on our imaginations, broadly interpreting the North American past as devoid of anything unusual in the way of great cultures characterized by a people of unusual demeanor. “The great interloper of ancient burial grounds, the nineteenth century Smithsonian Institution, created a one-way portal, through which uncounted bones have been spirited. “This door and the contents of its vault are virtually sealed off to anyone, but government officials. Among these bones may lay answers not even sought by these officials concerning the deep past.”

Two Giant Skeletons Near Potosi, WI

The January 13th, 1870 edition of the Wisconsin Decatur Republican reported that two giant, well-preserved skeletons of an unknown race were discovered near Potosi, WI by workers digging the foundation of a saw mill near the bank of the Mississippi river.

One skeleton measured seven-and-a-half feet, the other eight feet. The skulls of each had prominent cheek bones and double rows of teeth. A large collection of arrowheads and “strange toys” were found buried with the remains.

Giant Skeleton Discovered in Maple Creek, WI

On December 20th, 1897 the New York Times reported that three large burial mounds had been discovered near Maple Creek, WI. Upon excavation, a skeleton measuring over nine feet from head to toe was discovered with finely tempered copper rods and other relics.

Giant Skeleton in West Bend, WI

A giant skeleton was unearthed outside of West Bend near Lizard Mound County Park and assembled by local farmers to a height of eight feet. More about this can be found in Washington County Paranormal: A Wisconsin Legend Trip by local author and investigator J. Nathan Couch.

While a normal-sized skeleton of a supposed mound builder (the “Princess of Aztalan”) is on display at the site of several large pyramidal monuments near Madison called Aztalan State Park, the goliath remains of Wisconsin’s giants have vanished along with the hundreds of others discovered throughout the Midwest.

Many have accused the Smithsonian Institution of covering up these discoveries, locking the giant skeletons away and depriving the public of their findings.

In folklore from all over world, giants were believed to have built the remains of previous civilizations. Giants do exist, as nothing else would explain the large walls, stone monuments, and statues that we now know were the remains of Roman construction. Giants did walk the earth after all. The closest thing to giants researchers have discovered in this earth is the largest hominoid that ever lived is Gigantopithecus blacki . Interesting read. I definitely believe in their existence as Buddha once said that we are not alone and there are many other sentient beings in this earth. There were much evidence to support it with the discoveries of many giant skeletons in different countries.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

  2. Julia Tan on Nov 30, 2016 at 9:46 am

Things that doesn’t see now does not mean it does not exist. This is simply we have not recovered it yet. Many things we discovered and proved the existance but we could not explain how it actually happened.

Giant to me is some beings that very similar to Yati. Keeping a open mind to all these things is necessary. Just like we believe there are heaven and hell, there are Gods, Buddhas, angels, protectors and elementals exist in this world. We can’t really see them but we all believe they exist hence religions exist.

  3. Jace Chong on Nov 30, 2016 at 8:59 am

Thanks Rinpoche and the blog team for sharing this interesting finding on giants.

With all the giant skeletons that were unearthed, these are the solid proof that giant exist! For me it’s ignorance to believe that the world exists the way we know from science, from mass media, from common social values. The knowledge that we learn from those channels are just part of the exploration of the real world we are living in, it’s not complete nor “certified” to be 100% true as there are many factors we can’t see with human innate limitation.

Keeping an open mind is very important as it makes us more flexible to accept facts that ever changing, a fixated mind will always suffer when things not go in the “right way”. Right way or not it’s impermanence and changes in different situations.

    Thank you.

  4. June Kang on Nov 30, 2016 at 8:16 am

When I read information about Egyptian pyramids, Stonehenge, and the famous statues on Easter Island were all built without the conveniences of modern technology, I always think that Giant did exist, otherwise how all the big stone which some of them may carry weight about 60 tons can be moved. Also, a report said A 35-centimeter long mummified finger has been found in Egypt; is something prove that giant did exist.

And I believe that there may be a corner of the earth, the giant family continues to survive. Although we live in a highly advanced, technical world, but there are many mysteries all around us and all of these remain mysteries for humankind, despite intense investigations.

  5. Pastor Chia on Nov 30, 2016 at 8:12 am

I felt amazing the mystery of the giants existent simply because lord buddha has said many kind of sentient being do existent with or within this planet. Human perceptions of thing are base to what they had seen and experience. After found many giant skeleton at America has reported, why people still cover the truth for their existent and not opening up to study and find out more hidden history about them. Giants could be part of our human civilisation in our earth. Well this is open question why people try to hide giants existent to challenge what they had believe.

  6. Pastor Antoinette on Nov 30, 2016 at 8:12 am

Yes, giants did exist is my conclusion!
We are not aware of many things. How would we know about dinosaurs without finding the bones?
In Buddhism are the 6 realms – even though we don’t see the ghost realm for example, it does exist.
Scary is that it is hidden from the public and that the bones are not exhibited. We should be aware of our history on earth and not selective.
Thank you Rinpoche for always educating us in many different ways.

  7. Albert on Nov 30, 2016 at 3:36 am

Same with what others said, I do believe that Giant exist, the world is so huge, and it has been witnessed so many eras, the existence of any beings in any size are possible, throughout the billions of years, how much has we really explored?

I watched a documentary many years ago, it says that during billion of years ago, when Dinosaurs exist in this world, the air is so thick that small human like us will not be able to breath in, so we need a big body with big lung to breath in, hence, being existed during that time are huge, and it is also said that human already existed during that time, and the scientist said that, there is possibility for a planet that exist where all the beings live there are with gigantic body, just like Dinosaurs, I do hope they found it 🙂

  8. nicholas on Nov 30, 2016 at 2:00 am

Personally when I read about the finding on the giant remains it give me the same feeling of finding the dinosaurs skeletons/fossil. Knowing that there were such huge creature human like, it kind make me think if those are the creature that build the pyramid? And instantly another question pop up is that why they cover up on these finding just like UFO? Somehow I feel that there are connected and may also be related to the revolution that what they want us to believe.

It’s always amaze me with all these encountered mystery. There are so many unexplained phenomena out there that beyond our knowledge but what important is we must have an open mind to know and learn more. Doesn’t mean that we need to believe them but should not brush them off just because we have not seen them or personally experience them.

  9. Andrea Lai on Nov 30, 2016 at 1:08 am

All this while, I thought giants only existing thru our imagination via on television, book etc. For me, when I was younger I could imagine giants are behind hills and mountains where they hide away from us…lol. Maybe I watched too much giants story then- Land Of The Giant.

When reading this article, I was quite amused there are giants on earth but the prescription of their bones and feature is a puzzle. Are they really humans? Are they come from other dimension or outer space? What kind of DNA they have and what is the colour of their blood?

Well, research needed and prove to gain trust. Seeing is believing.

  10. Mingwen on Nov 30, 2016 at 12:36 am

    Yes! Giants do exist!

Famous NBA basketball player ‘Yao Ming’ from China is 7 ft & 6″ hight!

World’s tallest man, ROBERT WADLOW from United States was standing tall at 8 ft 11″!

    http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/tallest-man-ever

I’m able to see possibilities of the giants existed before us. Even though, I might be freak out if they are walking toward me. I think the ground might shake as they walk!

  11. Pastor Henry Ooi on Nov 30, 2016 at 12:24 am

Giants did exist, so do midgets. We still read news of modern day humans that are over seven tall. These modern day giants could have been the descendants of those giant people of olden days. Or could it be that the race of giants were not from Earth? But of a humanoid race from another planet? Extraterrestrials that once lived on Earth but all perished from some sort of plague? Why did the government not publicly acknowledged the finding of the skeletons? Unless they were not humans of Earth. Who buried them and what happened to those who buried them, and were they giants too? Guess the answers may not be revealed until the findings have been made publicly.

  12. Eric kksiow on Nov 30, 2016 at 12:05 am

Dinosaurs exist some standing 30 ft or taller and their descendeds are much smaller, so why not giant human like beings or maybe they lived before the dinosaurs the earth is over 4 billion yrs old.

Who knows what came before us and every story, myth and legend has a grain of truth to it also governments try to keep things like giants secret, so not to stir up the public and make man question are beginnings and our believes.

  13. pammie yap on Nov 29, 2016 at 11:07 pm

This is very interesting! There are many photos online talking about giant skeletons but most of them are photoshopped. And people actually believe it. And that is why I agree with what Rinpoche said about what we see and believe in. We should always check and not believe blindly.

It would actually be interesting to see the actual photos of the mentioned skeletons. It is obvious that they do not look like normal humans if what the article said is true. Aliens perhaps? That would make more sense. After all, Buddha did mention that earth is just a tiny speck of in the universe and there are many other.

“According to the Buddha, there are some other forms of life existing in other parts of the universe. The Buddha has mentioned that there are thirty-one planes of existence within the universes.”

  14. Pastor Shin on Dec 16, 2015 at 10:12 pm

Legends abound of giant humans – a special group or race of man. Although many photos and “reports” were found to be hoax, and some even claimed that a National Geographic Society team has found ancient skeleton (which was debunked by The National Geographic), the hoax refuses to lie down even years later, and National Geographic continues to receive flow of emails.

More recently, History Channel has aired a TV series called “Search for the Lost Giants” where stonemason brothers Jim and Bill Vieira begin an extensive search and quest for the truth. Although they have not uncovered any bones, but I believe sometimes it is just due to lack of evidence/ proof, and we cannot negate that they do not exist just because we haven’t found traces of them.

There were more than 1,000 accounts of giants from all around the U.S.A. alone. At one point in the early 20th century, every newspaper in the country had a story about giant skeletons being unearthed with reports from very credible people.

In 1911 several giant skeletons and ancient artefacts were supposedly fund in a cave in Lovelock in Nevada, USA. Almost everything was later lost in a fire but a skull is supposed to be found in the Humbolt Museum, Winnemucca. The museum confirmed that they indeed do have a Lovelock-skull there. A newspaper article from 1940 tells that a giant- sized skull was fund in Texas. The University of Texas has even confirmed that a large skull was found in the Morhiss mound in 1939, unfortunately the skull has been missing from the collection for a long time.

Hopefully in the near future, more evidence can be excavated or found.

  15. Beatrix Ooi on Dec 12, 2015 at 11:58 pm

If Bigfoot exist, I don’t see why isn’t there a possible that giant exist or have existed in this case. There are a lot of things that can’t be proven through science, for example, reincarnation.

I’ve always been very fascinated by paranormal related topics, it’s interesting to read about other brings other than just humans and animals. I truly believe that we are not the only ones occupying the earth. In Buddhism, we believe that there are various realms of existence, each realm occupied by different beings.

Believing in things like this is like having a faith or belief. When we believe it and we’re into it, we will see and learn a lot of things

  16. Vinnie Tan on Nov 11, 2015 at 7:03 pm

It is just really amazing that giants may have existed yet, the fact of that is being hidden. One will think that it is difficult to be hiding the remains or even news of such big creatures.

I remember that I use to be very fascinated about giants after reading the children story about Jack and the bean stalk. I keep thinking that if the giants are so big, yet we cannot see them, they must be up in the sky above the clouds like the story.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing with us this story. It is true that many people do not have open minds to things unless they read, seen, or experienced it personally. There are so many things that are on going in the world, many that cannot be explained. Us as human beings do not know everything. Even when new information is being discovered, it takes us sometime before we get to know what is going on.

This is the case for things that do us good and increase our knowledge about our surroundings. These knowledge always travel slower. However, information that is about the latest gossip always spreads faster. Through that it really shows how we think and act. It is sad that important information gets forgotten so quickly and information that benefits us do not get to us that often.

  17. Stella on Nov 1, 2015 at 8:44 pm

When I was young, my dad liked to bring me books on World’s Unsolved Mystery. The mystery of giant man was one of them. I am fascinated by how these giant could existed but no mainstream history books would acknowledge them, and how it remained a mystery. Are mankind so preoccupied with our own affair that seeking out what / who co-existed with us came far down on the priority list? Or we having difficulty to come into terms with what is beyond our expectations?
I do not have any answer to that.

The world that we exist in is full of mystery anyway. There were many unsolved or unexplained occurrences that are beyond our apprehension. If we can accept that there is God or a higher being or another dimension or aliens, we should be able to accept that giant men did (or do) exist. I would like to believe that there are many dimensions and God)Deities and fairies or even aliens exist. And if we have enough wisdom, we could all co-exist in harmony and peace.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this interesting article with us. It reminds me of my late father as I remember these fond childhood memories.

Humbly, my head to your feet,
    Stella

A great history of a great yogi which I do enjoy reading , reading over it again and again. Jetsun Milarepa was a famous Tibetan siddha, known as a murderer when he was a young man. Who later turning to Buddhism and becoming a highly accomplished Buddhist disciple. Generally considered as one of Tibet’s most famous yogis and spiritual poets, whose teachings are known among several schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Milarepa’s story is one of struggle, anguish, resolve, and triumph all of which make him recognizably. Practicing these teachings for many years in isolated mountain retreats in caves such as caves hidden deep in the mountains of Tsum Valley. That’s where Milarepa attained enlightenment and gained fame for his incredible perseverance in practice and for his spontaneous songs of realisation. Milarepa is said to be the first to achieve the state of Vajradhara in one lifetime. That’s incredible.

Visiting Tibet, holy Gaden Monastery is everyone dream and a once life time. Of course if we have the means to visit again will be great. End of December 2008 and early January 2009 our Guru H E Tsem Rinpoche with a small group students visited Tibet. Thousands of pilgrims, visitors and tourists around the world have visited this incredible holy land for the last 600 years. Tsem Rinpoche visited Tibet for the first time with an oxygen tank. I am fortunate to visit this holy place with my Dharma brothers and sisters years back.
With our Guru blessing we went without any without any hitch. Visited most of the monasteries and could feel the powerful energies there. Looking at those pictures in this blog reminds me of trip there.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Interesting….. a ground breaking documentary by world BBC where everyone should watch. BBC did mentioned and documented that Jesus was a Buddhist monk and that he had spent some years in India. I would not know about this till I came across this blog. Many people most probably too. Interesting watch one should not miss. Jesus was a religious leader revered in Christianity, one of the world’s major religions. He is regarded by most Christians as the Incarnation of God. Historical evidence indicates that Jesus was well acquainted with Buddhism. Historical evidence indicates that Jesus knew about Buddhism. Other evidence, while perhaps apocryphal, indicates that he spent most of his so-called lost years outside Judea, possibly in Kashmir to study Buddhism exclusively.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

The Great Buddhas of Bamiyan were two monumental Buddhist statues built around 600 CE. A holy site for Buddhists on the Silk Road, historically a caravan route linking the markets of China with those of the Western world. The two most prominent statues were the giant standing sculptures of the Buddhas .It was the site of several Buddhist monasteries where monks at the monasteries lived as hermits. It was until in 2001, both statues were destroyed by the Taliban . Before being blown up in 2001, they were the largest examples of standing Buddha carvings in the world .Buddhism was eliminated in Afghanistan by the 13th century during the Mongol conquests. Sadly all statues depicting humans in Afghanistan was destroyed. They were perhaps the most famous cultural landmarks of the region, and the site was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Despite the Buddhas’s destruction, the ruins continue to be a popular culture landmark, where many locals, pilgrims and tourist visit the site.
Thank you Rinpoche for this interesting blog.

Ven. Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche was born in Eastern Tibet, recognized as the fourth reincarnation of Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche. Well he was known for his purity in holding his vinaya vows. Even though he left Tibet in 1959 and settled in India, he had inspired, and supported the Sangha community, working tirelessly giving teachings at Sera Monastery in India . He also continued in protecting, preserving and propagating the Buddhadharma all over the world. H E Tsem Rinpoche first met him about 15 years in Sera Monastery and the last time in Gaden Monastery. Kyabje Yongyal Rinpoche knew that Tsem Rinpoche in New York back in 2013 and decided to meet up with Rinpoche. Looking at those beautiful photos tells all . Its truly rejoiced moment .
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing with precious photos taken during Rinpoche visit.

The general preliminaries are the four contemplations on precious human body, impermanence and death, cause and effect of karma, and the defects of samsara. The special preliminaries are taking refuge, arousing bodhicitta, the recitation and meditation of Vajrasattva, mandala offerings, and guru yoga. The purpose of life is to benefit other sentient beings and the greatest benefit we can offer them is to liberate them from their suffering and its causes. We have to purify all the negative karma and defilements we have collected over our beginning-less rebirths and accumulate extensive merit. These are the conditions necessary for us to actualize the path. Well we have received just this once the most precious human life ,we have to make our life as meaningful as possible. The purpose of doing preliminary practices is for us to purify obstacles to achieving realizations of the path to enlightenment for the sake of all sentient beings. I am still doing my best .
Great sharing thank you Rinpoche and Pastor David for this important write up .

The Heart Sutra teaches emptiness through the epitome of compassion. It is often said that, the heart of emptiness is compassion. It’s an attribute by which we sees the suffering of another and experiences true empathy for them. This empathy, in turn, leads the person to reach out and share in the person’s suffering. By helping them to endure whatever they are going through regardless of race and religion. Our prime purpose in this life is to help and benefit others. Well if we can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them. Treat others as we would like others to treat us. Always wish upon others and showing kindness to those who are feeling sad or upset to help them feel better. Lend a shoulder to them to lean on. Emptiness can be explored through meditation and contemplation. By observing the impermanence and interdependence of all things, we can gradually come to understand the true nature of reality. We have to understand the actual words of the Heart Sutra and its meaning within the Buddhist tradition as well as the meanings of emptiness. Will revisit this blog to read, learn more .
Thank you Rinpoche for this profound teachings.

The concept of Dharma is considered to be accessible and applicable to everyone, regardless of their religious background. Dharma, in its essence, is about understanding and living in accordance with universal principles of righteousness and ethical conduct. The core of the doctrine of dharma, especially in Buddhism, is about understanding the nature of suffering, the cause of suffering, the possibility of ending suffering, and the path to liberation through ethical conduct, mindfulness, and wisdom. Dharma is the essential teachings to transform our mind towards that of an enlightened being. Learning and putting what we learn into practice helped us to become a better person. Dharma is for everyone, reading those stories as in the blog give us a clear understanding. Nor matter what religion we are , we are taught to be loving, compassion and living peacefully.
Thank you Rinpoche for these great teachings.

Generosity is giving more than we can, and pride is taking less than we need. Giving is an action; generosity is a matter of the heart. Real generosity toward the future lies in giving all to the present. Sharing one’s resources and helping others in need. We have not lived today until we have done something for someone who can never repay you. A kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this article.

n Buddhism, Dharma refers to the teachings of the Buddha and the true nature of reality. It also encompasses principles like the Eightfold Path, which guides individuals towards enlightenment and liberation from suffering. A Dharma attitude involves fulfilling one’s responsibilities and duties towards oneself, others, and the environment. Dharma work helps us to focus on benefiting others instead of ourselves. Each one of us has different ideas, approaches and methods to do dharma work. As long as its benefits others and
taking responsibility for our own actions transforming others with love and generosity. It is important to embrace our imperfections as embracing puts us on a better path of acceptance and self-discovery.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this.

Buddhism is one of the most ancient belief systems and is practiced today by nearly 350 million people around the world.
Bettany Mary Hughes is an English historian, author, and broadcaster, specialising in classical history. Bettany Hughes travelled to the seven wonders of the Buddhist world. Where she documented a unique insight into the seven wonders that explained the long and rich history of Buddhism 2500 years ago . Truly fascinating documentary that’s one should watch. Started off her journey with Bodh Gaya in India, the Bodanath Stupa in Nepal, the Temple of The Tooth in Sri Lanka, Wat Pho Temple in Thailand, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the Giant Buddha in Hong Kong and the Hsi Lai Temple in the United States. At each location, she meets with Buddhist scholars who explain the different concepts that form the core of Buddhist philosophy, giving insight into the long and rich history of Buddhism. Interesting sharing.
    Thank you Rinpoche.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
