Along with this card came a beautiful Medicine Buddha statue which I appreciated so much. This sincere card came from Ms Jace Chong of Kechara InMotion dept. This is the dept that produces shows and videos within Kechara.

Jace is a young girl and works full time in Kechara. She is the type of person who does what she says. And you don’t have to push her. She has found her career in Dharma work and I am so happy for her. I wanted to share this card with you from her… It is so sincere and she is so consistent…

Jace, thank you for your card and gifts. I appreciate what you have expressed very much… I need more people like you… and I need all existing people to have your type of thinking… very mature and very spiritual in your thoughts… thank you for using your life for something meaningful. Your thoughts in this card will inspire many people.

Go all the way and make our Kechara goals all come true Jace!!

What a lovely post, and a beautifully-written letter. I think it’s a real honor to know Jace and anyone who knows her will most definitely be better off once they’ve known her. Working with her has been a wonderful experience – such a sincere, calm, cool, collected girl who isn’t afraid to get into the heart of every “job” and do it quietly and perfectly. I’ve worked with her often for video matters (through KIM), as well as for a short stint doing pujas today, and it’s always been great having her around. You know you’re ‘safe’ and things will be done well when she’s around! Thank you Jace for always being a pillar of care, effort and hard-work.

and PS she has her silly side too – there’s always a lot of smiling and laughs around Jace, so thank you for always being a Little Miss Cheerful of Kechara and bringing uplifting, happy energy everywhere you go 🙂 Jia you!!!

    Happy belated birthday to you.
I rejoice and so happy for you…

Jace Happy birthday to you it is late still I wish you a happy birthday and I am sure this birthday is a happy one for you. I admire your decision and doing full time. I wish my daughter is like you too when she graduates in August. Maybe I didnt do enough to inspire her. Your thoughts, your word and your work speaks the truth. Yet how many of us can forget our job and go in full time. I am really inspired by you. Rinpoche is not going to here all the time so we are fortunate to be able to transform our mind and our work for dharma and into dharma work.

  5. James Long on May 12, 2012 at 3:30 pm

Jace is very hardworking and kind young lady. I knew her through one of the Talent show which Jace was one of Miss Han’s crew then. She joined full time when Miss Han, HOD and Liaison of KIM, asked her and she agreed because she know the benefit of doing Dharma work.

As her friend, she is very strong in heart, there are things that some girls might find difficult to go through bu she did it with Dharma and Setrap. She was once the lead of the Chinese Setrap Puja back in Kechara House 2.

Keep up the good work and nice having you in Kechara. 🙂

So young, yet so mature and caring. I’m very happy to know Jace.

  7. Andrew Chiam on May 10, 2012 at 1:14 pm

Jace. If one word can describe her it would be “kindness”. I had met her during the KSK (KL) when iam making a trip there 2 years ago.
During the food distribution, she was very kind and sincere towards the homeless people, and the kindness came through naturally and effortlessly. On the way back, I had an interesting conversation with her. It was really inspiring talking to her and she is certainly a good role model for the young generation. I am very glad and so happy for her to see that she had found her oasis of happiness and had grown so much spiritually. Rejoice to you Jace.
(If you still remember, I am the guy from Penang whom you fetched from KSK to Kechara Hostel 2 years ago the day before Rinpoche’s Birthday, :D)

  12. ericchoong on May 8, 2012 at 1:52 am

    我想继续写下去说。。。Jace, 祝你跟随着仁波切在修行,踏上证悟之道,
    在这无常世间找到快乐。我在此向你学习。加油!

  13. ericchoong on May 8, 2012 at 1:38 am

  14. yenpin on May 8, 2012 at 12:48 am

    Jace是个很有热诚,又关心和乐意助人的好女孩,做每件事情都责任心,这是我要向她多多学习,希望Jace,在修行的路上更上一程。祝他身体健康。

I do not know Jace very well but we have talk & chat a few occasions. Recently, we have the chance to work together for the Wesak Fair event. She is very pleasant to talk to & always very positive in dealing with difficulties along the way. Her energy is very good to be around with & she is the kind of person who does what she promised, someone you can rely on.I am truly happy that Kechara has got such beautiful people in the organization. She has already set a very good example for others to follow. I rejoice for you Jace, keep up the positive attitude & good work.

Although Jace goes about her work quietly she is very good at what she does. The KSK rounds with Jace are known to be longer than usual because she spends time with the people we have the privilege of offering food to. I just love how down to earth she is and how gentle she is in all her ways.

I find what she wrote in the card so sincere. That’s Jace.

    Dear Rinpoche,
Hope you have gotten some rest after delivering the teachings last night and private audience till to around 5:00am this early morning. And thank you so much for sharing Jace’s letter which is very inspiring for me.

    Dear Jace,
Happy belated birthday! I did not know you but know you now through reading this “You have to read this!!!”. You are such a nice girl with strong faith in our Guru and Dharma! You are one of the examples for me to learn and follow.

    All the very best,

  22. Ethan Chu on May 6, 2012 at 10:55 pm

Jace is a wonderful girl. So sweet, young, pretty, deep and humourous… oh yes, trust me she is not as innocent as she looks, hehe because she is a smart girl!

A girl like her inspired me to take on dharma as a career full time, if she can do it, why not me? You have to understand one thing, she is a girl. If she is chasing for what the other girls are chasing which is a husband, get pregnant and even a kid and to raise the kid… then it will be harder for a girl to do dharma work. I am not saying she won’t have a family but with dharma, whatever she pursues in life, she will have a better understanding to deal with life.

I rejoice young pretty girl like herself make such a great noble wise choice to embark on dharma work full time. Because she just don’t want to be just another girl. I know for sure, not only she will have the wisdom, she will be a true inspiration to girls because she has proven it. Working for dharma can be a career, have a beautiful relationship (yes, her boyfriend is in dharma too!) and can still look forward to the future just like anyone else.

It is because she has the courage and determination.

  23. MayOng on May 6, 2012 at 10:49 pm

Jace Chong is a thoughtful, caring and hard working person – great to work with. To offer a gift to her lama on her birthday is such thoughtfulness of her, just like her character.
I rejoice for your kindness to Rinpoche.

  24. Helena Chin on May 6, 2012 at 4:44 pm

Very sincere and heart warming letter from Jace.
I personally like Jace a lot as she is very super nice girl:) I remember the first time i met her, it was the Lama Tsongkhapa stage play 3 years ago as i was doing make up for the crews. For me she is very soft spoken and she is like a mama and a nanny doing the stage play, the kids will be bugging her and she is totally in patient with them. When i did the makeup for her and took a picture of her, she immediately told me not to post her pictures on FB as she is very “MAN” at work hahaha, she does not want people to see her girly moment hahaha… and i was like, Errrr ok, what are you working as??? She told me she is a producer and i was like OK..i get you now.
When i came across and know her more, she may be soft but she is totally passionate on her work and what she believes in. She is an inspiration to me.
I believes Dharma changes people life. I have seen it myself after i have joined Kechara.
Keep up the good work Jace, i rejoice for you.
    Much love,
    Helena

Jace also quite regularly volunteer at KSK that time. Sometime, she will lead the volunteer KSK group distribute the food. I saw her very caring the the homeless people and asked them what they need.
Jace is very truthful person. She promise you she will get it done. I rejoice for her find the right place working full time at KIM. From this few years, she has learn up more Dharma knowledge and helping more people.

  36. justin cheah on May 5, 2012 at 1:18 pm

Thank you for sharing the inspiring and heartfelt letter. Jace is truely a great person to work with.

She does work on time, she is very hardworking responsible lady. She is also very truthful to herself and means what she said. She has always find ways to help raise funds (which is very hardy) for her department and I find her very loyal and sincere in her practice.

As far as I can remember, i have never heard a “No” answer from her before whenever I needed some help from her. I am sure she is a popular figure among her peers.

Still remembers when she was volunteering in KSK food distribution rounds on Saturdays. She would come every week and whenever she can’t make it, she will make it a point to inform me and will feel upset with it. She also used to write long and detailed reports of what she saw during her rounds and even when she’s unavailable on certain times to the rounds, she will take the initiative to ask for an update on how the particular client was doing. Not only that, she is also very kind to animals.

I find the qualities like her qualities are very rare nowadays in today’s world. Khoo (the boyfriend) is so blessed to have such an understanding, caring and kind girlfriend like Jace. I am very happy for Khoo and Jace. I wish them well and live happily forever after.

Congratulations to you Jace! I am ver happy for you that you came through all the way and never gave up. You gave your all and managed to conquer your inner maras to go this far.

You are an inspiration to everyone of us and to many more in future!

Jace comes for her Thai language lessons at the centre located on the same block as KPSS2. She will usually come in to browse around. When I last met her a couple of weeks ago, she mentioned that she was nearing the conclusion of yet another stage of her lessons.

She signed up for learning Thai as she wanted to help Rinpoche. What a great offering.

  38. Kwok wai on May 5, 2012 at 12:56 pm

I have had the pleasure of getting to know Jace a few years back. We were both volunteering at Kechara Soup Kitchen and at that time Jace has not gone full time yet and she was consistently helping out at the soup kitchen on our Saturday night food dostribution rounds.
It was indeed inspiring to see her in action ! This woman exudes compassion , while others just completes the act of giving food, she lovingly cares for each of the destitute by counselling them and the homeless know her by name ! And they long for her when she is not around.
She is indeed a rarity and a gem ! I have yet to meet another like her in our KSK rounds ! If I had my way I would love to work with her again and again , he he . Happy Birthday sista !

I think that the moment when I really got to spend time to know Jace Chong was during the recording of Highway to Bliss, our in-house music CD. She is a very kind and hardworking woman. She spends most (if not all) her time for the Dharma. She is to be taken as a good example to be followed by others. She is a very good Kecharian. I believe that the future is very bright for her.

Jace has come a long way since the time i have known her. She has a very pleasant personality. She gets along very well with almost anybody and has a kind heart. Before she went fulltime with Kechara Inmotion, I remember she had always volunteered at Kechara Soup Kitchen Society (KSK) weekend rounds. She had also volunteered at Kechara House whenever she could like making water offerings, cleaning, etc.

It is inspiring to hear that she had transformed so much through doing Dharma Work full-time. Jace had made her life truly meaningful. She had proved that Dharma Work can be a career!

    Keep up the momentum Jace!

  44. Sock Wan on May 5, 2012 at 3:08 am

Jace works really hard for Dharma, she has passion for it. She is young and talented, she could earn much more out there in the secular world but she has never thought of given up. She shows her gratitude towards Rinpoche by helping Rinpoche to spread Dharma tirelessly and most importantly, she works hard to confront her weakness and works to change her bad habituation. She is a very good example of a young person who wants to work for higher purpose with joy and appreciation.

  45. Pastor Yek Yee on May 5, 2012 at 1:45 am

Some many people commented how good Jace is!!!Yes, like Pastor Ngeow said you not only one is kind and got good heart. But one thing I find out from Jace is, she is a very patient person. Especially when we work together over eight hours, everyone already lost their temper or patient, however she still can very patient until the work finish. This her good qualify which I always hoping I can achieve it.

  46. Chris Tan on May 5, 2012 at 1:35 am

Yeah, Jace is a very helpful and caring person. Every time she will give u a hand when u need. She cares everybody even an animals. Sometimes when she see some street dogs/cats have passed away or injured in roadside, she always help all these animals find home or make prayer for them. Beside that, when she heard someone have a difficult time, she will take initiative helping the person by talking with them, teach them some dharma teaching and give them some positive thinking to encourage them.

I’m glad that i have a colleague like her in KIM and easy working with her at all time.

Bonita just read out from the text with little interaction with the audience. She did not expressed how she felt or relate to any experience on this subject. As this is the first time for her, maybe she has stage fright and not well prepared. I hope she will improve through time and be more sincere in her talk

Kok Wai is a natural. He expressed himself well by sharing his experiences and he reached out well to the audience.

Upon meeting Jace, it’s difficult to tell what kind of person she is. She appears to be quite timid and “too nice”, but when you get to know her, she has this silent aggressiveness and determination that plays to her strength.

I really like Jace because she always tries. When she believes in a cause, and there is a need to do something, she will volunteer and try to do it even though she doesn’t know if she can.

Jace your letter above is very heart-warming 🙂 Even the bad grammar isn’t irritating coz what you’re trying to say comes across very clearly 🙂

Jace, I’m really happy that you’re happy to be in Dharma 🙂 xxx

I’ve know this girl since when i was previously worked in 8tv. After she left there, by the next time i met her is in Kechara. I was shocked when i saw her has transformed a lot! And i started to know that it’s because of Kechara, Jace has transformed into a lovely and beautiful girl with full lovingly heart. And i’m very proud to have her as my friend…! Rejoice for her!

I remember the first time I met Jace. It was at Chinese Setrap Puja. She’s so passion and explained to me about Setrap, how to visualize and what’s the benefit of attending Setrap Puja. She’s so friendly and caring person.

Jace Sis…H@PPY Belated B day. Love you always.

I had many fun experiences working with Jace. (you know what I mean, Jace. Hehe). I can see the progress Jace has underdone since day 1 till now. She keeps her cool and is very organized in her work. I truly understood what Jace meant about being happy as freelancer yet it brings no peace. It’s delusional ourselves from having to deal with commitments and responsibilities. I am very happy for Jace to have come to a point of satisfaction in what she does.

  64. bengkooi on May 4, 2012 at 4:19 pm

    Dear Jace,
I remember first seeing your face a couple of years ago, when you were new to Kechara. Since then, each time I see or meet you, i am struck by your gradual, continuous, consistent improvement along the dharma and spiritual path.

It just shows that you have learnt and applied the Dharma to yourself, and you will be an inspiration to many others. Keep it up! Ganbate…

  65. Jace Chong on May 4, 2012 at 3:52 pm

Thanks everybody so much for your comments and wishes!!

I never thought so many people remember me in that way, hehe… I think what I have done is very little and I apologize if I have done anything not good enough along the way. I have a lot to learn from Rinpoche, all liaisons, pastors, Dharma brothers and sisters etc.

Like Ms.Han said, I have found my new definition of FREEDOM which to release beings from suffering. It’s not about myself anymore (although some times I still a bit selfish), I am learning to be better to serve people more and keep my refuge vows well.

From the deep of my heart, thank you everybody for your encouragement and love, I will keep up my positive strength and do more for others. I hope everybody will be with me on this highway to bliss (hehe…advertising time)!!

I love you all and you, Khoo =)

To me, Jace is not so quiet 🙂 and talks quite a bit, mainly because it is lunch time 🙂 But when she is working on projects, she is like a changed person and her concentration and focus is admirable.

I am also about 2 years into my Dharma career and I am sharing the same feeling as her: I am so lucky to find a place call home in Kechara.

    这证明了佛法是现代的良药。jace的精神真令人感到佩服她的努力,真诚,改变和为人服务念头。感谢我们的上师尊贵的詹杜固仁波切给与我们弟子那么好的机会学习佛法并直接的运用在生活上。

  68. Joy on May 4, 2012 at 2:28 pm

We can learn a lot from Jace’s offering. It is not so much the gift but the beautiful, sincere heartfelt card she wrote to Rinpoche and her realisation which we can also reflect and learn from.

It is amazing how she has discovered her potential in Dharma and how fortunate it is to be in it which is a lasting permanent truth… perhaps the only one.

Jace is a wonderful simple intelligent girl and like what Rinpoche always advice us all… in one way or another we can all contribute our skills in making our life more meaningful. Never say we cannot and put a limit to our own potential. And Jace has done exactly that. May her work be successful and inspire many more to do so!

    Thank you Jace!x

Personally i do not know Jace that well but i could feel her emotion from her card. Deeply loving what she’s doing now (Happy for her). She truly rejoiced on what she had found in her work place, the bond, the relationship with her Dharma sisters and brothers. Thank you Jace for being part of Kechara and helping Rinpoche.

    P.S. Happy Belated Birthday Jace!!!

Jace is the best girl I’ve ever meet in my life. She has taught me a lot about Dharma, and she still does. She is very caring and that’s why whenever her friends are facing problem, they will call her for advise. And she is very busy on the phone most of the time. She will never go to sleep before finish her job. She got tired sometime but she will bounds back very soon. She is my role model for how should I contribute to Dharma. Thanks Rinpoche for posting this, I’m sure this means a lot to Jace.

What a touching card… Jace is a very kind, patient, sincere, gentle and humorous and hardworking lady with lots of initiative. The first time I met her she was still one leg in her freelance job… I was quite impressed how she can remain so calm and with sweet smile on her face every time I saw her despite her heavy work schedule. Wish her all the best and success in her Dharma career =) Happy belated birthday!

  75. Bryan on May 4, 2012 at 1:41 pm

Yeah, this is my sister… Jace is always very helpful and caring. Still remember she is the first few persons that i get in touch with when i first join Kechara. You can always see her in Chinese Puja, Firday Manjushri classes and many other events. Jace also is one of the wonderful KIM team member, she filmed, she translated video and many others.

She seldom complain, sometimes she will nagging on something but who don’t do that right. What really makes me respect Jace is, she is always wanted to improve, sometimes even when she is extremely tired, but she will still push herself to finish all her duty. She knows whatever she does is not for money or climbing up to another position just like before. Whatever she does now is really for the benefit of others.

I love you, and I believe a lot of others love u too…

    Happy Birthday Jace!

Although you are often quiet, your presence is very much felt, even the few times I am back in KL. This reflects on your strength that is so well complimented by humility. The impact you leave on others like Christine is lasting, impressionable and creates change in them 🙂

On your special day, I humbly send you prayers that your wishes to serve others will come true swiftly.

  79. Lim Han Nee on May 4, 2012 at 12:54 pm

Jace is still the same sweet girl (always with a smile on her lips)that she was when i first knew her and worked with her two years ago at KH 1 gompa during our annual Wesak fair.Even though she was new to KH and to Dharma then, it didn’t faze her. She showed her care and friendliness towards every visitor to the gompa that day.

It’s two years since and Jace has come a long way in Dharma and in Guru Devotion. The gift of a Medicine Buddha statue to Rinpoche is so meaningful. Medicine Buddha is the deity to whom we turn for inner and outer healing, the healing of our suffering and root cause of our suffering. As Jace says, Rinpoche heals our suffering through the giving and teaching of Dharma, the ultimate Medicine that heals all our disease and suffering ,and the root cause of disease and suffering – our three poisons.

  80. Thierry Janssens on May 4, 2012 at 12:20 pm

Jace, I am very happy for you and happy to read such senseful words. recently a friend asked me: how come YOU give gifts on your birthday, instead of receiving a gift.
I said, it is a bit like we should actually give a gift to our parents on our birthday instead of receiving one, to thank them for giving us birth.
Giving a gift to our Guru on the occasion of our birthday is showing gratitude at yet another level.

  81. Wan Wai Meng on May 4, 2012 at 12:20 pm

I rejoice that you are in KiM (Kechara InMotion) and helping Ms Han because she needs a lot of help. Please continue, absorb the Dharma and nurture more volunteers and people in KiM to assist Ms Han in making it very big. You are a pretty girl with a big heart. She is one of them who guide me when i first started in Setrap Puja & Kechara Journey. She let a newbie like me feels the warm & the care of Kecharian!

Thank you jace & i wish you all the best in your spiritual journey.

Ive got to know more of Jace Chong in the recent months. She’s a really soft spoken lady. But inside her, there’s this burning fire for the Dharma. I can tell she loves H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche, Kechara and the Dharma very much. Each time she speaks, she speaks with passion..for the Dharma. She is also an easy going person hence everyone in the organisation loves her! But she does not take it for granted. She serves with no expectations and is definitely a great example to all, especially the younger generation.

  87. Shin on May 4, 2012 at 11:55 am

Jace is always helpful and very friendly. Apart from her duties at Kechara InMotion, she also likes puja a lot and that’s how we got connected apart from work.

From the time when she was a guest in the initial Setrap Puja in Chinese in KH2, Drolchok puja practices @ Ladrang when Gen Lobsang Yeshi came to teach us, and later being selected to be part of the 2nd generation of Trusol group, Jace has been consistent and put in effort to make it to pujas and learn up the rituals well.

What is obvious and I have heard quite a few who commented about her is her positive attitude of being consistent, humble and willing to learn new things to improve herself, and works extra hard. I believe those are her key ingredients of being such a wonderful person.

    • Wendy Loh on May 4, 2012 at 12:06 pm

Jace is a very sweet and sincere person. I’ve spoken to her many times in her office and seen her at work. She’s very focused and professional. She’s eager to learn and opened to new ideas. Kechara in Motion is very fortunate to have her.

In this letter, it clearly shows her humility and gratitude.

Jace is a talented lovely girl. She’s definitely a smart girl! Cause she chose dharma as her career and from there she flies! Her passion in dharma and love towards others have taken her away from the old her and lead her to became a better person! Of course her love towards our guru had gave her faith and caurage not to look back but moved her to the next level of success in her life!

Congratulation Jace! I rejoice for the integrity you hold on for Kechara for our guru. I thank you for the blood and sweat you contributed to Dharma! Keep it up!

  91. fang on May 4, 2012 at 11:49 am

Jace is one of the many whom I have come to get to know and respect in my 3 years in Kechara. She is one person that truly rejoices for others, shows concern for their well-being and a trustworthy confidante. Jace’s gentle and humble front is certainly not a mask to her drive at work. She is proactive, reliable and most often than not… a little stubborn 🙂 But with the right motivation, Jace gets things done and without a word of complaint. I am proud to call her a friend and wishes her every happiness in the path she has chosen. Also knowing very well that she is in Kechara’s good hands. HUGS~!! 😀

  92. Karen Chong on May 4, 2012 at 11:44 am

I remember before i join Kechara full time, Jace was one of the nice people from Kechara spent time talking to me about what’s Kechara and how Dharma has influenced her. Her stories and experience was so inspiring.

I see how dedicated she is at her work, she is a person who keeps her promise and take full responsibility. Like everyone else have said, she is the gem in KIM. I love you Jace, hehehe…

  93. Sharon Saw on May 4, 2012 at 11:42 am

I met Jace through work at NTV7, a local TV station and she was always very sweet and pleasant. Ms Han did well to invite her to join Kechara and i have seen Jace consistently working very hard. She walks the talk and is a joy to work with. And she answers emails in the middle of the night! I rejoice that she has embraced Dharma and showed it in her offering to Rinpoche on her birthday.

With Rinpoche’s compassionate guidance, gems like Jace, practising Dharma everyday, will inspire many to discover that freedom is truly within…

  94. Pastor Susan on May 4, 2012 at 11:40 am

I remember the first time i met Jace was when Ms Han was working on a TV Show for her previous employer. I didn’t get to talk much with Jace at that time but remembered her pleasant personality.

I have gotten to know Jace better now that she joined Kechara and we have also worked on a few projects together. I love working with her as she’s clear on what she wants, communicates well, straightforward, efficient, passionate about the work she does and she’s an animal lover, and of course loves Rinpoche and the dharma. She’s very keen and open in learning. I could go on and on about Jace… for those of you who have not met her, get to know her. You’ll love her.

best wishes to your success dear Jace

  95. tfreon on May 4, 2012 at 11:38 am

What Jace said is true. ” Rinpoche heals all sentient being” and “its Rinpoche compassion and kindness for us to collect merits” . Since knowing Kechara, my attitude and point of view towards Dharma works change. Dharma works is something not only heal our self from our stubborn wrong views but also gives us chances to collect merits not only for our self but for other peoples. While doing dharma work, i actually able to see what my weak points are. I thanks Rinpoche for creating Kechara for us to practice and learn Dharma, I thanks Dharma brothers and sisters for working hard. May i have the opportunity to work in Kechara.

Jace = smile. Whenever i see her, she always wears smile on her face.. She is one of the best team leaders in KSK, whenever she goes on food distribution rounds, she does not just distribute food mechanically, she takes time to talk to those on the streets and make them feel cared and help them in whatever ways.

Thank you Jace being such a nice person, you are caring, gentle, hardworking and consistent.

Aiyohhhh what a beautiful, sweet and sincere card from Jace! But then I’d expect nothing less from someone who is so simple (in a good way!). When I read the card, I can see that Jace has applied many of Rinpoche’s teachings to her life – importance of admitting you are wrong, a realisation that her life without Dharma is meaningless, the importance of committing to one’s practice…

…Jace is a real pleasure to work with, and I’m so happy for her that she’s now in a place that accepts her for who she is, and truly values her work for the impact that it can bring to others.

I like Jace a lot simply because she is a kind and sincere girl. She is also very hardworking. All her intention is that she wants to get her work done and she will make sure that she does it well. She is doing a great job in KIM. Congratulations Jace for making the right choice in Dharma.

  101. Paris on May 4, 2012 at 11:22 am

Super stuff. I love Jace and have had the fortune of working with her briefly during puja trainings a few years ago. She’s one of the best, and easiest people to work with because she’s so smart and totally uncomplicated. No dramas, no emo fit sessions, no complications. Just total sincerity, love for Dharma, hard work and always a big smile.

Having been in the same boat, I smile when I read that she was a freelancer who went from job to job – and felt proud for it. Don’t be fooled by her simple outlook and quiet demeanor. Jace is extremely talented, having worked for some of the biggest productions on TV and done several stints with NTV7 and Astro. In spite of all the opportunities offered to her out there in the big bad world, she chose Dharma because of how much more she can do from here.

I’ve seen Jace grow and grow over the last few years, often holding the fort in KIM when Miss Han travels. It’s exciting to work with KIM if only because you get to work with the team there. Keep it up Jace – you’re inspiring many more than you think you are. Lots of love xxxxx

  102. Han on May 4, 2012 at 11:14 am

I know Jace for many years, she entered dharma through Setrap puja and volunteered in KIM.

2 years ago, when Jace approached me to join KIM full time, I was very happy for her , she asked me if she allowed to have FREEDOM IN SPACE & TIME after she joined KIM? She said she is the type of person that need freedom, I remembered I told her NO PROMISE but once you really like dharma, live dharma etc, FREEDOM from own definition will not bother anymore.

True enough, Jace is available most of the time towards KIM’s tasks and many other Kechara activities. She gaining Freedom through practicing dharma sincerely.

Jace truly a gem to KIM & Kechara, may Jace continue to inspire many more people to learn dharma.

It is indeed such a sincere letter… Jace has always been very pleasant and ever smiling when you see her.

I rejoice that she has indeed come to realize that Dharma work is indeed really not work but a practice in transformation and a wonderful opportunity to accumulate merit.

What is point of “working” in secular means and die with no Dharma motivation behind it. However having said that, working in a secular environment with a Dharma motivation is also good as some of us may need our secular jobs to “fuel” our Dharma work.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this sincere offering of Jace and thank you Jace for being you… Andrew

  108. lanse on May 4, 2012 at 10:37 am

Working with Jace is fun. She is very hardworking, proactive, resposible and willing to take up ownership yet very humble.

Out of work, she is a very caring person too. She cares not only for human beings but animals too. I have heard her adopting stray cats and help finding them new owners.

The other day after we visited Kechara Forest Retreat, she told me she wanted to stay a little longer there as she saw a dead body of a dog/cat in the middle of the road, and she wanted to do something for the animal, perhaps bury it or do a prayer.

I was impressed. She is not only learning Dharma but she really puts Dharma into practice. This is Jace that I know.

  109. DR on May 4, 2012 at 10:30 am

Jace is a remarkable young lady. She has had her share of personal hiccups just like everyone of us yet she stayed on her spiritual path, made the strong conviction that she will make the best out of the situation and perservered. She did not quit, she stayed true to her promise to her Lama and this is the result!

I sent Jace a birthday greeting on the day of her birthday. I teased her and asked where she would be celebrating that night. Her reply: ‘with Setrap in Kechara House’. She had planned to attend Setrap Puja!

I am so proud of you Jace (with respect) as you have set your priorities right. May you be the shining example to others who are still in search of their spiritual path.

Jace is a very kind and very spiritual young lady that is both beautiful inside and outside. She often helps out whenever she can even though she has a very busy schedule. She can get along with everyone and the best thing at all would be that she will do whatever she promises even though she is very busy and she goes out of her way to help other kecharians in need many, many times.

It is a great honour to be friends with such a person! And she’s doing Dharma fulltime to compliment her pleasant personality! How beautiful!

  114. Gim Lee on May 4, 2012 at 9:54 am

Jace is a simple girl who works very hard for dharma sincerely. She is a gem to the Chinese speaking group in Kechara as she speaks both English and Mandarins well. She is also very good at pujas; being the Puja Guide for weekly Chinese Setrap pujas and a member of Trusol puja team. Her card to Rinpoche showed her maturity despite her age. I rejoice for her and thank her for showing me and others the true spirits of working in a dharma center 🙂

    Dear Jace,
I am very happy for you and your understanding and practice is exemplary for all to follow. Not all can follow the path that you are doing with such courage and joy. You are very aware of your efforts in meeting every one of your (and ours’) life’s problems, habituations and issues head on and solving it and letting go. You have integrity and and everyone admire and trust you. You think and work for others and follow the example set by Rinpoche well. From what we can see from Rinpoche’s comments, you also have very good samaya and I rejoice.
I will take you as an example and practice Dharma as well as you!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

  116. Yoke Fui on May 4, 2012 at 9:46 am

    Happy belated birthday, Jace !

Offering gifts to people that have benefited us eg. our guru, parents etc is even more meaningful than receiving birthday gifts.

Rinpoche always teaches us that on our birthdays we should strive to engage in actions that benefit others instead of just having a good time “celebrating” . If we don’t do any beneficial things for others in our life time , what is there to celebrate? Each year gone by means we have wasted another year….

  117. Sam on May 4, 2012 at 9:39 am

Jace is lovely and friendly. I believe just as she had made Rinpoche’s heart warm, she has done just the same for many others as well. Thumbs up**

Wow Jace, you’re giving offering to Rinpoche on your birthday. What good thoughts you have! Practicing generosity on your birthday. 🙂

  123. Margaretlee on May 4, 2012 at 9:02 am

I remember the first time I met Jace was in Kechara Oasis, she was the freelance video person who helped in videoing the Middle Eastern Karaoke Night at Kechara Oasis.

Jace is a simple girl with no fuss and thrills but when she said she would do it, she does it!

She is a gem to the KIM team, and she is taking up Thai language to further improve herself as she wants to help Rinpoche to spread dharma to other parts of the world.

I truely rejoice for her and may she grows to be a shinning example in Kechara!

Dorje Shugden controversy began when the Dalai Lama made successive attempts to wrongly assert the nature of the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden to be a harmful spirit. The great lineage masters such as Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche and Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche’s teachings are amongst the greatest dharma that forms the foundation of Gelugpa education. As confirmed that Dorje Shugden is an emanation of Manjushri. Dorje Shugden is an enlightened Dharma Protector who manifested about 400 years ago from a lineage of erudite masters. They cant be wrong . Dorje Shugden via the Panglung oracle had helped the Dalai Lama in his great escape out of Tibet. There are so many highly attained lamas who practices Dorje Shugden and their reincarnations have been coming back again and again. Even 5th Dalai Lama composed a prayer to Dorje Shugden and built a Protector chapel dedicated to Dorje Shugden as well. That’s Trode Khangsar in Central Lhasa which is still there. The ban of Dorje Shugden is unnecessary and illogical as the bigger purpose of Dorje Shugden,is the preservation of the Dharma. The Tibetan Leadership (CTA) has instituted this ban against Dorje Shugden for many years and its time to lift the ban. May more people read and understand the ban and the real reason behind this controversy.
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor David for sharing this post.

Panchen Sonam Dragpa a scholar ,great master, writer, abbot of all monastic universities. Well known for writing 11 definitive volumes of philosophical teachings. He was the unmistaken incarnation of the pure monk Duldzin Drakpa Gyaltsen who was a direct disciple of Je Tsongkhapa.Panchen Sonam Dragpa was unique in having served as abbot of the three main Gelug monasteries that is Ganden, Sera and Drepung. The only person ever to have received this honour. Panchen Sonam Dragpa’s collected works spans volumes, constituting the main textbooks which is still used today.

Troll is a being in Nordic folklore, described as trolls dwell in isolated areas of rocks, mountains, or caves, live together in small family units, and are rarely helpful to human beings. Trolling behaviors involve tactical aggression to incite emotional responses, which can adversely affect the target’s well-being. Troll represented aspects of life and nature that were beyond human control or understanding. They can be found all over Norway with mysterious rock formations and mountains with troll-like-shapes , sometimes possessing magic powers too. Reading this post had me get to know there’s other forest creatures that existed long ago. An eye opener reading it .
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing.

Dice divination, a fascinating and ancient method of fortune-telling, has been used by various cultures throughout history. Dice hold different meanings and symbolism in various religious traditions, representing chance, fate, and the connection between humans and the divine. Dice are commonly used as divination tools in modern witchcraft and are interpreted to seek insight and guidance from higher powers. Despite all the different rules and approaches, all forms of dice divination are basically the more same.
In Tibetan Buddhism there are a number of divination methods. Even within dice divination there are many forms, and these are associated with many different deities such as Manjushri, Palden Lhamo and Dorje Shugden. Dorje Shugden divination method is well known to be extremely accurate , very beneficial and effective.
Our Guru H E Tsem Rinpoche had received the entire transmission and commentary of the Dorje Shugden divination lineage from Dorje Shugden himself. One should maintain very good guru devotion and have clean samaya with our guru with ,have respect for the Dharma and have the deepest faith in the great and powerful enlightened protector Dorje Shugden to do the divination.Tsem Rinpoche has helped thousands of people through his divination methods in Malaysia. Interesting read , more to understand about it.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing with us .

Visualizing deities while meditating or when we are performing a puja is one of the principal methods used in the Tibetan tradition. Deities are highly symbolic representations of awakened minds that have appeared to past masters in visions. Deities are represented in thangkas and paintings. As more and more people embrace the Tibetan Buddhist path with sincerity and dedication, they understand better and could visualize through the practice. It is not about appeasing a deity, but engaging in formal meditational practices to transform ourselves. The actual practice in Buddhism is to purify karma, accumulate merits by way of Buddha-deity practice, and to create the causes and conditions for spiritual realisations.
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor David for these great teachings.

Centuries after Buddhism originated in India, the Mahayana Buddhism arrived in China through the Silk Route. The worship of Buddha Amitabha arose from a school of Buddhism. The Origins of Pure Land Buddhism began in India around the 2nd century BCE. It spread to China and then spread to Japan around the 6th century. Buddhism in China was undoubtedly quite different from Buddhism which was originally practiced in India. In China the beginnings of the Pure Land Buddhism are traced back as far as the 4th century, practitioners meditated on the name of Amitabha. The Buddhists believe that this deity helps in regeneration and improvement and has became icons used all over China. In China, the Pure Land sutras and teachings are based on Amitabha Buddha. It then spread and became dominant in other Asian countries as well.

Niguma is considered one of the most important and influential yoginis and Vajrayana teachers of the 10th or 11th century in India. Niguma was a dakini, and one of the two female founders of the Shangpa Kagyu school of Vajrayana Buddhism. She has created. a system of yoga predominantly for women. Historically, it is the only yoga series designed by a woman. Niguma’s life, her teachings had a significant impact on Buddhism. According to scholars, Niguma had high-level realization, attained rainbow body, and even received teachings directly from Vajradhara. It is said that Niguma cultivated the Buddhist path in previous lives, so that in her lifetime she directly saw the truth of the nature of phenomena just by hearing basic phenomena from a few adept masters. Interesting life story of a great Dakini .

Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo is a bhikṣuṇī in the Drukpa lineage of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. She is an author, teacher and founder of the Dongyu Gatsal Ling Nunnery in Himachal Pradesh, India. Reading this interesting post with the thought of our daily life, how laziness will bring us downhill. It is possible to overcome laziness by setting achievable goals and developing a strong work ethic. Lazy ambition is not an uncommon occurrence . Through not been lazy, it takes sweat, determination and hard work one can be successful. Laziness may reflect a lack of self-esteem, by taking the initiative doing things that matters in life such as learning dharma and practicing dharma is the best option. Letting go all unnecessary secular activities and do more to benefit others will be a better choice. Do what we can, with what we have, where we are and not excuses not to do. Accept whatever comes along, accept reality instead running away from it been lazy.
Thank you Rinpoche for this profound teachings of Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo.

A mantra is a sacred utterance, a numinous sound, a syllable, word believed by practitioners to have religious, magical or spiritual powers. They are refer as sacred words of power. Mantras are used in many spiritual traditions, they originated in the ancient scriptures. They are used up to this day in India. Anyone who recites those holy words can tap into their source and connect with sacred energy that helps to transform our minds. A tremendous blessing power that exist in all religions . Any pictures of Chenrezig will always caught my eyes on it since young. Looking at those pictures and watching the videos , had me think of how tedious training those dancers had gone through against the odds. A salute to them even though they are deaf-blind-and-mute they danced gracefully transforms into 1000 arm-chenrezig. They are a professional dancer from the China Disabled People’s Performing Arts Troupe. They learned the art of dancing through sign language with other trainers at a very young age. Determination says all.

Reading again the stories of Gaden Jangtse’s Jolenpa Gen Nyima, by Kyabje Tsem Tulku Rinpoche truly inspiring indeed. An extremely humble monk was not interested in titles, recognition or degrees yet highly attained Yamantaka yogi with his meditation practice .One could transform into an exalted being if we sincerely and having engage in the meditations and practices. Gen Nyima’s example shows and inspired many that humility is the basis of all attainments. Live a simple life , donated mostly all to monastery and kept little for himself. Having saved many people performing miraculous healings and giving extremely accurate divinations. Interesting reading of his miraculous healing. Wow interesting stories about Gen Nyima demonstrating his attainments to spread the Dharma and had inspired others through his Dharma teachings. Gen Nyima had spent 15 years in a Yamantaka retreat in Bhutan before returning to Gaden Jangtse Monastery.
Rejoiced to Irene Lim and few of Tsem Rinpoche ‘s students having met Gen Nyima at Gaden Monastery back in 1993.

Thank you Rinpoche and Beatrice Ooi for this sharing and explaining the details of incense. Within Tibetan Buddhism, incense has traditionally been used as an offering to the Three Jewels for centuries, so as in other Buddhist traditions. Within ritual, incense is also used to purify offering substances such as water, food and light. We offer incense as an expression of our gratitude and reverence for the Buddha’s great compassion. The practice of burning incense sticks has a dual purpose, purifying and cleansing the energy of a space. It is said that the fragrant eliminating negative impurities and creating a positive environment. In many religious practices, burning incense is believed to deepen our attention and empower our spiritual focus. The aroma of incense can help us to tap in our spiritual connections. It calms the environment and our mind, cleansing the space for inner and outer journeys. Great article.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
