H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche is a recognised Tulku and an ordained monk in the great tradition of Lama Tsongkhapa.

With a Mongolian-Tibetan heritage, a childhood in Taiwan and America, and intensive study and meditation in Gaden Shartse Monastery, Rinpoche is one of the rare, precious teachers with the unique teaching ability to bridge East and West.

Based in South East Asia since 1992, Rinpoche’s teachings are based on logic and universal human values, free of the limitations of dogma, culture and individual background, and have led many to enter the sacred path of study, contemplation and meditation. Great benefit has been predicted for this region, including china, through his Dharma activities.

Renowned for his charitable works such as building schools, hospitals and providing assistance and food to the poor and underprivileged, Rinpoche’s organisation, Kechara, continues to bring benefit to the world through its many initiatives.

    Wesak Day, a celebration to commemorate the birth, enlightenment, and death of Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. Buddhists around the world marks his enlightenment as when he discovered life’s meaning. It is also a time to reflect on his teachings and what it means to be Buddhist. Its the most sacred day to millions of Buddhists around the world.
    Wesak Day in Malaysia where Buddhists nationwide gather at temples . Each of different Buddhist temples celebrated at dawn with various pujas or prayers, meditation, with offerings of flowers, candles and incense ,emphasizing the impermanence of life. Most temples do rituals “Bathing the Buddha” ceremony to wash away bad karma and grand candlelight processions in Penang and Kuala Lumpur. At our Kechara Forest Retreat, Bentong Pahang, we have pujas, flowers, candles and incense offerings as well.

    It is interesting to note the stark contrast of the current estranged relationship between China and Tibet . The HH Dalai Lama banned the practice of Shugden in Gelug monasteries in 1996. Reason is that Dorje Shugden is a spirit a threat to Tibetan Buddhism unity and not a protector. To many of the practitioners they whom consider to be one of several protectors of the Gelug . Infact for thousands years many highly attained Lamas had rely on Dorje Shugden and many practiced it . Even the H H Dalai Lama did practiced Dorje Shugden before the ban and have enjoyed in the past. The controversy is a complex mix of religious schism within the Gelug school and political move by China. Situation now improved with Dalai Lama said practitioners could practice Dorje Shugden’s practice.May Dalai Lama lift the ban soon for the benefits of peace, unity and harmony.

    Interesting and inspiring post of a great Lama. Drogon Tsangpa Gyare (1161–1211) was a Buddhist ascetic and the main disciple of Lingchen Repa Pema Dorje. He was one of the most outstanding disciples of Ling Repa. He was the founder of the Drukpa Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism later became influential in Ladakh and Bhutan. It is one of several lineages known as “Red Hat sects”. He mastered the Vajrayana practices of mahamudra and the Six Yogas of Naropa at an early age. He discovered spiritual treasure which had been concealed by Rechung Dorje Drakpa, a principal disciple of Milarepa. Tsangpa Gyare became a widely known teacher with thousands of disciples. Interesting short biography.

    The Dorje Shugden controversy has been going for a long long time . Time to realize the mistakes of the ban that cause and affecting millions of people across the world. It has cause pain and suffering just because they believed Dorje Shugden is an evil and could be harmful. Many families, monks and monasteries are torn apart due to illogical ban by the Tibetan leadership in exile. Many high attained Lamas and millions had practiced Dorje Shugden for more than 400 years before the ban. This practice will continue and it will not be destroyed or fake away as it a very beneficial practice. Time will tell , it cannot be wrong , the Dorje Shugden controversy ban are illogical . Peace cannot be kept by force, it can only be achieved by understanding and having dialoque. Peace is not absence of conflict, it is the ability to handle conflict by peaceful means. May this controversy come an end with theTibetan leadership having a discussion with various Shugden communities.

    Virupa 9th century Indian mahasiddha and yogi, also known as Virupaksa and Tutop Wangchuk. Mahasiddha Virupa, the Lord of all yogis, was born in a royal family in east India. He is one of the most revered Indian Buddhist Mahasiddhas and a founding figure of the Sakya tradition. Known for his unconventional life, famous for miraculous feats, such as stopping the sun. He is often depicted in art with a pointed finger, a large belly, and a skull cup. Interesting. He is featured amongst the famous collection of 84 and he is part of Dorje Shugden’s incarnation lineage.

    Interesting read of some of the world’s creepiest, haunted, and abandoned tunnels. These tunnels often feature in urban legends due to their, dark history, cramped conditions, and reputation for supernatural activity. Its always that’s spirits being trapped at that location so generally people feel uncomfortable when driving in tunnels. They even claim to hear ghostly trains and voices echoing from within. There’s so many haunted tunnels in the world, it seems.

    Wat Muang, nestled in the historic city of Ayutthaya, Thailand, stands as a testament to the cultural heritage and spiritual significance. The concrete statue is painted gold, standing 92–95 meters tall and 63 meters wide. It is the tallest statue in Thailand and among the tallest in the world. Visitors often visit to pay respect and are known to touch the tip of the statue’s finger for blessings. Interesting this statue has a remarkable history behind it. The surrounding Wat Muang temple, there’s a “Hell Garden” featuring graphic and life-size figures . Just looking at those beautiful pictures in the blog, its awesome. A place worth visiting. Would love to visit someday.
