Snap, Pray, Love Competition: March Prize Winners!
Congratulations to our SNAP, PRAY, LOVE Competition lucky March winner, Jerome Raphalen! Jerome’s photo of a shrine has gained our celebrity judges attention, meeting the criteria of both promoting a diversity in shrine/altar presentation while achieving a sense of inner peace.
As award-winning author/judge Corinne Trang puts it; “This photo meets a sort of potential lifestyle integration, rather than just a religious corner of one’s home. I would have to say that aesthetically, Jerome’s photo takes the prize as the Buddha is lit only by soft candlelight, easily representing calm and focus, which is key when meditating. It is humble, and for this reason powerful. Less is truly more!”
Jerome’s photo was selected through a majority vote by our panel of celebrity judges, winning him the top prize of the month, a 12” Green Tara Statue. Malaysia’s top Fashion Designer/judge Eric Choong comments: “When I look at this photo, it exudes harmony and inner peace. The lighting also has a very nice and modern touch to it.”
“The low level of light brings us to focus on the very peaceful posture of the monk (Ganjin).
It’s not my altar but it is the space I use to do lamp offering on auspicious days.” By Jerome Raphalen
The 4 other lucky consolation prize winners will receive a Turquoise pendant each courtesy of VajraSecrets.com. They are Fong Yee Cheong, Jason Chau, Ben Thain and Doreen Teoh. Each of their photos has captured the judges heart in translating a personal journey to achieve inner peace in their own unique ways.

“Amitabha is surrounded by green plants and the sound of water, clearing my mind with peacefulness.
I’ve always hoped that people would find back their humane charitable heart.”
“This shrine was inspired by my godmother who would teach me meditation and mantra when I was little. The Fish basket Guan Yin was hers and she gave it to me for my birthday. This statue has always brought me such happiness when I meditated on her during times of hardship and stress. This is the shrine I have growing up with since I was 10 years old and now I’m 19.”
“Why complicate? Peace is what we make of it.”
“My inner peace is that my family’s generations to come will know and learn about Tsongkhapa and his disciples, his great qualities, teachings, compassion and the authentic lineage teachings from Buddha Shakyamuni. It is a great legacy that I am giving to my children, and generations to come, friends and family.”

Such beautiful altars, all set up with love, care and thought put into it. This competition is such a brilliant idea as it not only brings out the creativity in a person but gives others who want to set up altars more ideas on how an altar can be set up. Congratulations to all the deserving winners!
Congratulations to Jerome Raphalen, Fong Yee Cheong, Jason Chau, Ben Thain and Doreen Teoh.
Congratulations to all winners!! The altars are really beautiful! I can’t wait to see more awesome ones..please submit your altar..you might just walk away with an awesome prize!
Congratulation! A well deserved win. One of my favorite picture in the gallery.
Congratulations to all the winners. Everyone who especially have altars SHOULD participate. It can help and encourage others who do not have an altar to be inspired to set up a personal spiritual space. An altar is a focal point for collection of merits. Think about how much you can indirectly benefit others by participating while having an opportunity to win prizes. How kind Rinpoche is to make this competition available to everyone. It is a waste not to grab it!
Wah, so nice!I like all the altar in the post. I like to see people altar in their, everyone got different idea on their shrine. Sometime the altar seems like reflect the owner. I like Liang Jing’s altar in his small room. Very simple but you can feels this six years old boy really see Buddha as his holy uncle.
In Liang Jing’s small altar, he has Rinpoche’s photo, Tsongkhapa tsa tsa and some small holy item. I LIKE it very much, I feel it is real from a small boy.
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you for letting us have a peek to your private altar. This is inspiring.
