Thank you, Paul
KSA or Kechara Saraswati Arts Dept is always having so many activities. Many activities relating to art, creativity, painting, beading, and the like. It is the only Tibetan Arts Studio in southeast Asia. Thank you Paul for doing a good job to head KSA. Thank you Kien for sharing your talents in KSA!

Yes, I remember KSA was a centre of activities in Sunwaymas, Petaling Jaya. There were always volunteers helping and learning new stuff that KSA provides. What a wonderful way of gaining merits in the company of fellow Kecharians that cared enough to volunteer. Activities like mantra rolling, mala beading, mala bags sewing, statue painting, beautifying of statues with jewels, thats to name the few of the activities. KSA welcomed old and young to join at their convenience. Lovely. Thank you Rinpoche for creating such fun Dharma for us.
Thanks Kien for sharing your knowledge and expertise and at the same time also sharing Dharma to people around through arts!
Hope we can have more similar classes like this for adults & children. Actually, it will be great if KSA organize drawing or arts classes for Children. 🙂
Thanks to Kien Wong for conducting earring and beading classes in Kechara Saraswati Arts before the opening of KH new Gompa. Kien Wong’s kind effort and tutoring has paid off and benefited KH. Before the opening of the new Gompa, there was a need to dress the new 7ft Vajrayogini statue in the new Gompa with pearls and a skirt is required for her. Beading pearls came in very handy with stringing and making pearl flowers for the skirt. Led by expert hands Kien Wong and experienced staff, many volunteers came along to do pearl beading and dressing up Vajrayogini. Vajrayogini looks very spectacular and was admired by lots of members and guests on the official opening day of Kechara House new Gompa.
KSA or Kechara Saraswati Arts is now well known among the Dharma members and friends in Kechara Organisation. It has started a few years ago with Joy, Chia, James, Wan and Pat with volunteers like Aunty Vivian and few others. At that time statues were not painted by expertise from Nepal and India. Sewing of thankas has to be sent to India and Nepal to be done. Trinkets and accessories has to be sourced in India and Nepal when our members will have to travel to purchase it for sale here. But now we don’t have to. Under the tuterlage of Rinpoche, Paul has emerged into a very capable Head of KSA. Everything is done locally now saving up so much money and people can afford to buy items cheaper. And then generate more funds.
This is great news indeed! it has been too long that KSA has not come up with any activities for quite sometime and it is wonderful now that there are mor eand more classes and activities held yo encourage people to the Dharma with art, or art made specifically with the Dharma in mind. The nature of art is to reflect one’s thoughts and mood and when Dharma is added to the mix, what comes out is a really interesting offering of both effort and intentions.
The appearance of this department does show me that the way Dharma is spread and practiced need not be limited to studies but towards more abstract forms such as art. I guess it is time that i open up my mind more and not expect things to be only in a certain way.
Kien has been helping KSA for a few years now – always volunteering behind the scenes. He is very big hearted and generous with his time and he shares what he knows most willingly. Creative and always with a warm smile for everyone, his friendly disposition makes it easy to be friends with him, learn from him and work with him.
He is a spark of sunshine to KSA and we should not miss the opportunity to learn jewellery making – be it doing simple beading or intricate designs.
KSA is coming up with more activities ideal for arts and crafts enthusiasts, for young and old alike who like to explore their creativity. For those of you new to KSA, do check out their activities schedule and participate – you will be surprised what you can create!
