Kechara Village

Artwork by Cynthia Lee of E-Division

I had given a description to Cynthia as to ideas I had of a Kechara village. A place of practice, calm, work and natural living. I described to her what I saw in my mind’s eye and she kindly illustrated it for me.

I would love to have a piece of land and as you enter you see a beautiful Chapel to let’s say 1,000 armed Buddha Avalokitesvara or any other Buddha that blesses the land and environment. Then next to it you have chill out cabins where guests and inhabitants can meet, talk and relax. A place to catch up on the latest. Then to the right are the cabins of my Private Office (PO) people to do their work with good internet and also maybe tv/videos too… cabins of my assistants who would stay on the land with me.

Then you have the guest cabins. Where hardworking people from the various Kechara depts can visit on weekends for walking retreats, clean up retreats, volunteer in candle-making, working in the organic garden or just enjoy the fresh air and forest. Then we’ll have a pond for all my fishes especially Dorje the fish. I love her. She is a special fish I have. Don’t forget the Tara chapel where you can light candles, burn incense and commune with Mother Buddha Tara. Not far away is the Buddha stupa containing relics and holy items related to attained beings. I also have an aviary housing all the many birds I have. I love them and want them to have nice clean environment to live in also.

Then we have my cabin and with me are Mumu, Oser, Dharma and our other dog guests… Zamkar and Gizmo of course.. Not far yonder, will be our medium sized organic garden where we have tomatoes, ladies fingers, pumpkins, cucumbers, onions and other much loved vegetables bursting with nutrients and vitamins to nourish our bodies. Vegetables ready to be plucked daily for us to cook up to satisfy our needs. Fresh and natural. Throughout the property will be many types of outdoor stone Buddhas to be seen everywhere. Buddhas dotting the land blessing all therein. The land is immersed with trees, shrubs, flowers and profusions of herbs growing too. I would love the greens, the flowers and the growths so much.

Cabins are trailer homes or in Malaysia we call them containers. They are safe, economical and not expensive. We will use containers throughout the land to live in in this magical place I call Kechara Village. To connect with nature, the forest and to live a life of working for others but in a healthy environment. I wish for such a place. I asked Cynthia to graphically conjure up such a place so I can visually share with you… enjoy my little spiritual shire or Shangrila. This would be my private residence with invited guests and visitors.

I hope to have such a place to live in soon and not be in the city much anymore…

To help in my little vision, contribute or inquire more on this place that I would like to see manifest soon, please contact JP* who is in charge of this project.

Tsem Rinpoche

Sample of a container that would be economical to have on our Kechara Village land. A place to detox, unwind and spiritually charge up… a place I would like to live soon…

From the descriptions and drawings of Kechara Village, you have truly identified a “Heaven on earth” spiritual private place of practice in Malaysia. Such a unique place will have to come with a piece of land immersed with trees, abundant bushes, shrubs and flowers, coupled with meandering streams, or a river flowing through a mountainous ridge to provide clean fresh water fill-ups for your lovely dorjes fish ponds. It would certainly make a great and wonderful weekend getaways to high places, like Camereons or Frasers Hills for private practice for our Kechara’s community. Cynthia really did a good job on the drawings of Rinpoche’s spiritual Shangrila. May we pray hard that we’ll be granted the good blessings to achieve the above realisation.

So nice the idea, must be superb to meditate under the stars and moon. So good can be back to nature, pluck the fresh veges, eat them raw or cook directly in an open air kitchen, so nice. Most importantly without much noises of cars and polluted air.

Thanks Rinpoche for sharing and Cynthia for illustrate the idea.

Kechara Village…..I love the name and I love the place. It looks so friendly and homely. I love the cabin style accommodation. It is like the version of caravan stay and reminds me of camping, campfire and picnics. It will be great if there is a canteen or cafeteria there as well where organic/vegetarian food is served. I also loved the two deers and dharma wheel. It reminds me of our 1st logo for Kechara Paradise.

    May this Village manifest soon!

Dear Rinpoche, thank you so much for sharing Your vision with us! I love the cabin concept very much, it is very Eco-friendly and very close to nature as well. I am very happy to see there will be a chapel there which we can pray, a stupa to circumambulate. Further more, we can plant vegetables and trees for Rinpoche and help to take care of all the animals! We won’t get tired if we do Dharma work with a pure and good motivation. I don’t wish to go Kechara Village just to recharge myself but to work with other Dharma brothers and sisters to serve Rinpoche.

Thank you Cynthia for the wonderful sketch! Because of your hard work, we are able to visualize how the Kechara Village would be. 🙂

  32. David Lai on Sep 26, 2012 at 5:05 pm

This is just so wonderful to see Rinpoche’s vision slowly unfold before our very eyes. I am sure Rinpoche would be so happy to be amongst the green trees and sweeping views of mountains and so forth. This is such a fantastic idea for our Kechara community. It would be so nice to perform pujas and little teachings out in the open and under the awnings while enjoying the views and so forth.

  33. Datuk May on Sep 26, 2012 at 1:49 pm

Beautiful place to be in. It is always so thoughtful of Rinpoche to include everyone into this dream village.

I pray that one day, Kecharians will be able to offer to Rinpoche a private and exclusive retreat place solely for Rinpoche alone.

Do I sound selfish to wish that for Rinpoche, not in accordance to my motivation. Rinpoche thinks and provides for us all the time and to my mind it would be nice to have a place where Rinpoche can be in solitude and free from all work that is always done for all sentient beings.

My wish for the day. Sorry if my wish is offensive or unbecoming.

  34. sweekeong on Sep 26, 2012 at 12:38 pm

Initially I didnt understand why must do all these but now I slowly being to understand. Thank you very much Guru and also all the sponsors

  36. Sofi on Sep 26, 2012 at 12:03 pm

Rinpoche’s vision of Kechara Village is so nice. Lush with greens and flowers, with organic garden, pond and all the beautiful Buddhas around. Serenity….a place where u can hear your thoughts and connect with the self. I see all those satellite dishes on the cabins, so still within touch of modernity to continually benefitting those in the outside world. It would be even better if set higher in the mountain or hill to enjoy the cool air. I sincerely hope that Rinpoche’s wishes will quickly manifest and I have the merits to be volunteering there sometimes.

Dear Rinpoche, i love the name of this place. It automatically sets a very calm and serene mood when it is read together. Cynthia is very talented with her drawing, for sure i can’t draw like her…may i suggest we have some dining tables and chairs to be set up facing the organic garden so that Rinpoche and guest can enjoy the view while having hot pot.

  44. adeline woon on Sep 26, 2012 at 8:23 am

Very cool lama leaning against the rails! It would be really wonderful to have corridors that link the cabins, so we can have less umbrellas lying around when it rains. I can imagine running from the bathroom back to the cabin all wet, hehe.

In Buddhism, the Body of a Buddha refers not just to a physical form but to the manifestations of enlightenment. It is important to understand those marks on the Body of a Buddha as we practice further. Early Buddhism describes the physical body as having 32 major marks of perfection while the Mahayana tradition outlines three distinct bodies. Till now I am still trying to remember those body parts. Such a very information article for all.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing and explaining each parts.

The concepts of the cycle of birth and death, samsara and liberation partly derive from ascetic traditions. The significance of rebirth varies by tradition and practice. To achieve a better reincarnation in the next life all depends on our accumulating present good karma and acquiring merits. One’s actions in a present life shape the circumstances and consciousness of the next. Doing more positive action in the present life shape the circumstances and consciousness of the next . Learning, practicing Dharma and putting into positive action is the best choice for everyone to have a good rebirth. Great reading article from Dr. Berzin which will benefit our thoughts and dharma practice.
    Thank you Rinpoche for sharing.

Reincarnation is the religious concept that the soul or consciousness of a living being begins a new lifespan in a different physical body after biological death. It is a central belief in many traditions, such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. While there is no scientific proof of reincarnation, many spiritual and cultural traditions suggest that signs of past lives can appear in our daily life.
After watching and reading many reincarnation stories I do believe. there are many reincarnated lamas, famous people out there. As in this blog very interesting videos to watch supporting that reincarnation do happened.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

A profound teachings , well explained the importance of going pilgrimage . Going on a pilgrimage is a life time opportunity with profound spiritual significance to achieve self-discovery of one self. Some research has shown that people who engage in pilgrimage walks , benefited them which has religious or spiritual significance. It offers one the opportunity to disconnect from our daily routines and distractions, finding a sense of community and belonging. We also gain clarity and direction in our lives , inspired and renewed, and deepen our spiritual practices and beliefs. It holds deep importance across global faiths and secular traditions. All I can say its a journey to a holy place, which can lead to a personal transformation.

Great job Pastor Seng Piow helping up making it possible for readers. Religious freedom is the fundamental of human rights, protecting each rather individual’s right to believe and worship. In Tibetan Buddhism Nageshvaraja and Loma Gyoma are two revered deities known for their roles in spiritual purification and deep healing. We are so fortunate having invited these Holy Statues to Kechara Forest Retreat. Awesome just by reciting the Mantra of Naga’s King Buddha who is one of the 35 Buddhas of Confession, one could purifies thousands of eons of one’s negative karma. When I visited Kechara Forest Retreat I will always take the opportunity to pay homage and circumambulate the holy statue of Buddha Nageshvaraja. Lhamo Loma Gyonma is one of the most efficacious healing deities. Lhamo Loma Gyonma’s tremendous ability known to be able to cure the most severe wide-spread contagious diseases . Awesome having these two powerful statues at Kechara Forest Retreat for everyone to pay homage. Going through those beautiful pictures again simply paints a thousand words.

Praise be to the incredible Lord Meduza, I’ve never seen or heard of his lottery spell failing, not even once, and that includes my own experience. Every day, I feel renewed blessings after connecting with the Great Lord Meduza, who gifted me my winning six-digit lottery numbers that won me $740,000,000 million dollars by using his magical skills to foresee the outcome. I’m a dad of four, and it’s been a few years since I lost my wife to cancer I miss her terribly. To wrap things up, I really want to thank Great Meduza for being so good at what he does. His guidance and lessons were applied swiftly and precisely leading us to the best possible result, which we definitely achieved. You can reach him by email: lordmeduzatemple@hotmail.com or check out his website: lordmeduzatemple.com for more information or Whats_App: +1 807 798 3042… Stay blessed and know you’re in good hands with Lord Meduza.

Revisit this interesting story of the headless nun. One of Canadian New Brunswick’s oldest ghost stories is the headless Catholic nun. Set in the wooded trails of French Fort Cove, about a French nun name Sister Marie who was decapitated by sailors trying to find buried treasure. According to folklore she had buried settler valuables and money in a secret location for safekeeping as entrusted. Sailors pressured her for the treasure’s location and she refused and she was beheaded. As the story goes that her spirit is said to forever roam the woods searching for her head. Scary lool.

John Blofeld was a British writer, public speaker, and Buddhist practitioner. Most of his writing were on Asian thought and religion, especially Taoism and Chinese Buddhism. After years of traveling through Asia and experiencing the spiritual culture of China and the Taoist eremites. He was a student of the Buddhist master Hsu Yun. and has written or translated several books . He had been a devoted Buddhist all of his life and his books had been instrumental in introducing Buddhism to the Western world.
Thank you Rinpoche for this interesting and inspiring man.

Revisit this blog again. Looking at those pictures , tells us it’s a tough project stretching from zero set up. The committed team had done a great job, doing part by part to where its now. We are so fortunate given the opportunity to get involved in the Tsem Rinpoche Stupa Project. It’s a once life time opportunity, creating merits and be connected to our Guru in this life or in future life time. Now then all projects has completed, it will benefit more people.
Thank you Rinpoche with folded hands and those involved in this grand project.

We must have faith and confidence in our Guru. A guru is not someone who holds a torch for us, but someone who guides us to the light. A guru takes a hand, opens a mind, and touches our heart. Never deceive our Guru. Our Guru’s inspiration and strength have been the foundation of our learning. On this sacred day we express our eternal gratitude to our Guru. We should constantly keep our Guru in our heart, remembering his teachings, learning, practicing and transforming our mind.
Thank you Rinpoche with folded hands

Have not heard of this Cowichan Tribes till I read this post. Revisit again to understand better. They are a group of Coast Salish peoples who live in the Cowichan Valley region on Vancouver Island. They were is the largest First Nations band in British Columbia, with about over 5,500 members. Interesting the discovery of the mysterious ape-like creature in the remote arecalled by the Cowichan tribes as Thumquas. Its also known as Bigfoot to many. Many sightings of this mysterious creature has been part of the Cowichan tribes traditions and history of the tribes. Sightings of these creatures are mainly found in Canada and in USA region and footprints as well. The biologically rich Cowichan Valley and Cowichan Lake areas are frequent hubs for modern sightings and legends. Interesting read and some new information for me.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Learning is a continuous, lifelong journey of discovery. It is not about simply memorizing facts, but actively engaging with the world, making mistakes, and adapting. Its good to stay active, learning new things and maintaining social connections. Hence its wonderful that Anila and Uncle Eddie got the opportunity to learn using lab-top gifted to them by Rinpoche. We are never too old to learn a new skill, do whatever we could to preserve mental and physical well-being.
    Thank you Rinpoche.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
