Congratulations to Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche

When my Tsem Ladrang team received an invitation to the opening of Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche’s new centre, I was very very happy to hear this news. Whenever anyone is successful in establishing or propagating Lama Tsongkhapa’s tradition anywhere in the world, it is important for us to rejoice. It does not matter whether the founder has the same practices or not; what is important is that we rejoice in the growth of the Buddhadharma so that sentient beings may benefit from the wisdom of Shakyamuni’s teachings. So although I was not able to attend the opening myself, I wanted to send some of my close students there to represent me and show my support for Zawa Rinpoche’s works.

Zawa Rinpoche has visited Kechara many times in the past. During his visits here, he performed pujas to bless our land and also taught us some rituals which we were not familiar with before. Also some of my students have been in regular contact with Zawa Rinpoche. He has been very informative and helpful to them regarding the monastic system which my students who are not Tibetan are not familiar with.

I also know that Zawa Rinpoche has been traveling tirelessly for the last decade bravely raising awareness about the ban on Dorje Shugden. So he has been working on both his activities to lift the ban on Dorje Shugden, and also developing his own Dharma centre without much assistance. I wanted my people to go to Canada to recognise what Zawa Rinpoche has done for our lineage.

The invitation was for the opening of Zawa Rinpoche’s new Buddhist temple known as Centre De Méditation Tsongkhapa (CMT, or Tsongkhapa Meditation Centre in English). Located in Ste-Sophie, Quebec (Canada), the centre sits on four acres of land which is forested and (I am told) very beautiful and serene. There is a main gompa (prayer hall), as you will see from the photos below, and also a small house for Zawa Rinpoche in the back. They have also built rooms for visiting sangha, have a well-stocked library and they will soon be doing renovations to convert their garage into a kitchen. In the future, Zawa Rinpoche would like to develop his land to include retreat huts.

Venerable Geshe Tsultrim Tenzin (formerly of Gaden Jangtse Monastery, now residing in Austria) makes a mandala offering to His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche

CMT is actually Zawa Rinpoche’s third centre, so to speak. His first centre was opened by the late Venerable Geshe Khenrab, and it was located in Montreal, Quebec (Canada) before a sister centre was opened in Moncton, New Brunswick (also in Canada). After Geshe-la passed away, Zawa Rinpoche became the organisation’s spiritual guide. However, my students tell me that the Montreal centre was not located in a very conducive area because it was on a main road with shops, restaurants and bars nearby. Hence Zawa Rinpoche looked around for a more suitable location. When he found some properties, he submitted them to His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche who advised him that this location in Sainte-Sophie would be very good.

There were many auspicious signs in the run-up to the opening ceremony. For four days, rainbows appeared above the centre, either as double rainbows or circular ones around the sun. At one point, when Zawa Rinpoche was installing a Dharma wheel on the roof of the gompa, five-colored lights shone from the Dharma wheel. These were invisible to the naked eye although they show clearly in the photograph. Zawa Rinpoche also told us that completely white flowers sprouted spontaneously on the land, and that these flowers were not native to the area. Closer to the date of the opening ceremony, two small ponies came onto their land. After Zawa Rinpoche fed them, they disappeared and never came back.

So there were all of these good signs surrounding the centre, which made my team excited about attending what is surely an auspicious occasion. The opening ceremony was also attended by many lamas around the world who were keen to show their support for Zawa Rinpoche’s works. Present was Venerable Trote Rinpoche from New York, Venerable Kalden Rinpoche from Brazil, Geshe Phende from Austria, Gen Youten from Canada, and Geshe Sopa, Geshe Cheme Tsering and Gen Jamyang Tashi from Vermont. Venerable Rabten Rinpoche was also scheduled to attend the celebrations, representing His Eminence Gonsar Rinpoche who was not able to attend himself.

Zawa Rinpoche had also invited his own teacher, Venerable Geshe Tsultrim Tenzin. There is an interesting but sad story about this senior, very learned and gentle monk. Geshe Tsultrim is a monk of Gaden Jangtse Monastery who had many students. For decades he taught tirelessly until the height of the ban. At this time, some of his ‘students’ came to attack Geshe-la’s simple home, throwing stones and rocks at it. The harassment escalated and became so bad that Geshe-la had to escape the monastery in the middle of the night. He left India and travelled with Switzerland where Venerable Gonsar Rinpoche gave him refuge. Later Geshe-la moved to Austria where he now lives. There are very few monks now of Geshe-la’s generation, scholarship and practice so my students were extremely fortunate to meet him and make a connection with this holy practitioner.

My team spent their first day at CMT getting to know the volunteers, as well as some of the guests who had arrived early. They also had a short audience with Geshe Tsultrim to present some offerings I wished to make to him. With Zawa Rinpoche helping to translate, my students requested for Geshe-la to live long and on my behalf, offered to him a statue of Amitayus. Then they explained to Geshe Tsultrim about the works I have been doing in Malaysia and the progress of Kechara and what we wish to accomplish. I am told that Geshe-la was very happy to hear all of this and accepted their request for him to pray that this manifests.

Geshe Tsultrim accepting my offering of an Amitayus statue

In the evening, Geshe Sopa-la of Trijang Buddhist Institute requested our people to join him and Zawa Rinpoche the next day in escorting His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche to the centre which my team were of course very honoured to accept. They came extra early the following day to make sure they would not be late.

His Holiness Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche arrived and was escorted in the traditional manner, with a golden parasol, incense and flowers scattered at his feet. Outside of the gompa, His Holiness recited prayers and cut the ribbon sealing the doors. Then His Holiness entered the gompa to perform a consecration ritual with the other Sangha.

After a short break, His Holiness proceeded to give a short commentary and oral transmission of the Gaden Lhagyama. His Holiness explained that he had received this teaching from His Eminence Kensur Lati Rinpoche and it was according to the Segyud tradition. The teaching was translated by the Venerable Geshe Cheme Tsering, who is an excellent scholar and has been translating for His Holiness for many years. His Holiness also explained the motivation with which one should receive Dharma teachings. I am told that the teaching was very well-received and that His Holiness’s style of transmitting the Dharma is very similar to that of his predecessor.

His Holiness ended the afternoon with a gift to Zawa Rinpoche of an antique and very beautiful Namgyalma thangka. After that, everyone had the opportunity to make offerings and receive blessings from His Holiness, who left soon after. Again Kechara students had the merits to escort His Holiness back to the hotel which was very nice for them.

Over the next few days, my team had audiences with Venerable Rabten Rinpoche, Venerable Kalden Rinpoche and Venerable Trote Rinpoche to update them on our works and make a connection with them. I am told that the lamas were very happy to see our works and offered their prayers and support for our continuous growth. I thank them very much for this. My students also spent time getting to know our Dorje Shugden brothers and sisters, many of whom they have connected with on Facebook but never actually met before.

When I was Zawa Rinpoche’s age, I also had my own Dharma centre so I know from experience it is not easy to open a Dharma centre especially in an area where people may not be so familiar with Buddhism. Therefore I would like to offer Venerable Zawa Rinpoche my heartiest congratulations on the opening of the Tsongkhapa Meditation Centre which I know was not easy to do. I wish him every success and offer him my prayers that all of his works come to fruition.

Please scroll down to enjoy more photos below, and rejoice in the proliferation of Lama Tsongkhapa’s tradition in the west.

It’s very honor to have opportunities to meet Zawa Rinpoche for few times in KFR in the past. During his visits here, he performed pujas and also shares his Dharma knowledge to give us blessings. He always smiling and kind, often we can see he posts some updates about his Buddhist temple in Quebac, Canada, which known as Centre De Méditation Tsongkhapa. I remember I saw one of the video, there was a big statue of Buddha covered by a monk robe. Wind was blowing, the statue feels liveliness around the nature, it’s just so beautiful, peace, calm. Zawa Rinpoche shares a lot footage of his temple in social media, it’s enjoy to watch and I hope to visit his place someday.

Mantras are sacred verbalized words that invoke the protection and blessings of the deity to whom the mantra is ascribed. Mantras are also the manifestations of Buddhas in the form of ‘sounds’, hence the various mantras of Dorje Shugden contain the essence of the Protector.

    Dorje Shugden’s main mantra 多杰雄登主要咒语
    OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SOHA

Dorje Shugden’s mantra for peace 平和咒语
For gaining attainments through the energy of Peaceful Shugden, peace of environment and mind, harmony in one’s abode and dwelling area, and calming of disasters
OM BENZA WIKI BITANA SHANTI SIDDHI HUNG

For long life, increasing life, healing of disease and protection from diseases
OM BENZA WIKI BITANA AYU SIDDHI HUNG

Dorje Shugden’s mantra for increase 增长咒语
For gaining great merits and increase of all necessary needs, both material and spiritual
OM BENZA WIKI BITANA PUNYE SIDDHI HUNG

Dorje Shugden’s mantra for control 控制咒语

    Dear friends,

Tibet has produced many powerful meditations, rituals and guidelines to help us gain spiritual protection, gain wisdom and higher states of consciousness. In general Tibet has produced many powerful methods for the growth of our spiritual evolution. Dorje Shugden is an angel, a saint, a powerful spiritual protector-warrior who originated 350 years ago when a highly awakened Tibetan Lama fulfilled his vows to become a special being to grant protection, wisdom, material needs, safety when travelling (normal and astral travel) and spiritual awakening. Both the Great 5th Dalai Lama and the current His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama composed short yet effective prayers to invoke upon the power and blessings of this special saint and protector. One can recite either one of the prayers that you feel suits you, anytime or even daily. When you feel a special need for help, you can recite either prayer anytime. When you are feeling down, afraid or just need a blessing, you can recite them. After reciting either invocation, it is good to chant the mantra of Dorje Shugden: Om Benza Wiki Bitana Soha.

You do not have to be a Buddhist or practitioner of any religion to invoke upon the blessings and protection of this special enlightened and awakened angel Dorje Shugden. He helps all without discrimination or bias as he is filled with compassion and love. Divinity has no boundaries, they help all who call upon them.

Enclosed are the prayers in English, Chinese and Tibetan.

May you be safe, protected and blessed.

Divination (‘mo’) Text by Dorje Shugden

This is an important divination (‘mo’) text composed by Dorje Shugden himself. Dorje Shugden took trance of the Choyang Dulzin oracle lama, the senior oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery, and instantly on the spot composed this text within two hours.

The divination text contains information on how to use dice to do divination for the future and is known to be highly accurate. When practitioners use this text, they will be in direct contact with Dorje Shugden to get answers to questions about the future. It is for those who have good samaya with Dorje Shugden and are free of the eight worldly dharmas to be of benefit to others in divining the future.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama

Tibetans commonly refer to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama as the “sun and moon” of Tibetan Buddhism. They are the center of Tibetan Buddhist civilization, which draws to its sphere of influence millions of non-Tibetan practitioners. The Panchen Lama’s incarnation line began with the 16th abbot of Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen (1570 – 1662). He was bestowed the title of Panchen Lama by His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama after being declared as an emanation of Amitabha.

After being given the title, his three previous incarnations were posthumously also bestowed the title, making Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen the 4th Panchen Lama. He became a teacher to many Tibetans, Bhutanese and Mongolian religious figures, including His Holiness the 4th and 5th Dalai Lamas, and the 1st Jetsun Dampa of Mongolia. A prolific author, Chokyi Gyeltsen is credited with over a hundred compositions, including a number of commentaries and ritual texts that remain central in the Gelukpa tradition today. Along with his role as a teacher of the Dharma, the Panchen Lamas are usually responsible for the recognition of the rebirths of the Dalai Lamas, and vice versa.

The 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Trinley Lhundrub Chokyi Gyeltsen (19 February 1938 – 28 January 1989) continued both the spiritual and political roles of his predecessors. His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, his contemporary, was even heard to say and echo the Panchen Lama’s own words that the Dalai Lama would safeguard Tibet from the outside while the Panchen Lama would safeguard Tibet from the inside, as he never left Tibet after the political troubles of 1959. He was truly loved by the Tibetans, all the way until his passing. When he taught, thousands of people would attend, not only from his own Gelug lineage, but masters and practitioners from all traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

At his sprawling monastery of Tashi Lhunpo, he has a special chapel specifically dedicated to Dorje Shugden, where prayers and rituals are performed on a daily basis. In his great omniscience the Panchen Lama held Dorje Shugden as the principal Dharma protector of the monastery. He also personally propitiated Dorje Shugden among other Dharma protectors, and even wrote extensive prayers and rituals to Dorje Shugden. These rituals and prayers are contained within his ‘sung bum’ or collected works, which are provided here. As such a great lama, with an erudite and clear understanding of the Buddhist scriptures, a teacher to millions in both Tibet and China, from an established incarnation line and an emanation of the Buddha Amitabha, he could not be mistaken about his practice of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness 10th Panchen Lama is known for his composition of commentaries and practice texts that are still in use by contemporary Buddhist practitioners both in Tibet and across the world. One of these is a powerful ritual composition propitiating the compassionate Dorje Shugden.

Upon the request by Acharya Lobsang Jangchub to compose a shorter version of the prayer (sadhana) for the exhortation of activities of Dorje Shugden, Panchen Lama immediately composed an abbreviate form of Dorje Shugden’s Kangsol. This text is entitled “Manjunatha’s (Tsongkapa) Lineage protector Dorje Shugden and five forms wrathful propitiations and confessional prayers and fulfilment of activities rites” or “Melodious sound of Accomplishment of the Four Activities” for short. Once the prayers were completed, he had signs and strong feelings that Dorje Shugden has been working hard to protect the Buddhadharma in general and the lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa specifically.

Mirroring the abilities of one of his earlier incarnations, Khedrub Je, a disciple of Lama Tsongkhapa and master of both sutra and tantra, the Panchen Lama used his compositional skill and poetic prowess to create a masterful sadhana. Worthy of note is a praise in which the first letter of each verse is a Tibetan vowel. Such compositions are rarely seen, and have historically only been used when propitiating senior Dharma protectors such as Palden Lhamo and Kalarupa.

The Panchen Lama also stated that while composing the Dorje Shugden sadhana (prayers) he was filled with a sense of happiness and bliss. He ends the composition with not only his official title but his ordination name, Tenzin Trinley Jigme Choje Wangchuk, endorsing the validity of his work. He composed the sadhana in his own Tashi Lhunpo monastery while in the Hall of Clear Light and Bliss.

For the first time available, Dorje Shugden and his entourage of 32 asssistants of his mandala.

Dorje Shugden is a powerful protector deity who is also an emanation of Manjushri, a wisdom bestowing Buddha. Therefore, he has great ability to help us to progress further on the spiritual path. He does this by helping us to overcome obstacles and problems for the modern individual.

Due to his enlightened nature, Dorje Shugden is able to manifest 32 deities and within the same abode resides Setrap and Kache Marpo:-

    1. 5 Dorje Shugden families or emanations. They consists of the following:-

    – Dulzin Dorje Shugden, which performs activities to eliminate inner and outer obstacles.
    – Shize, which performs activities to pacify all illnesses and disease.
    – Gyenze, which performs activities to increase all desirable material and spiritual wealth.
    – Wangze, which performs activities to control difficult people and circumstances.
    – Trakze, which performs activities to wrathfully eliminate all insurmountable obstacles and life-threatening situations.

    2. 9 Mothers. They represent protection of the five senses and developing control of the four elements. These are all attributes that signify their ability to assist tantric practitioners with their higher meditations.

    3. 8 Guiding Monks. They represent the Eight Great Bodhisattvas (Avalokitesvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Samantabhadra, Maitreya, Kshitigarbha, Akashagarbha, Sarva-nivarana-viskambini) and they bring about the growth of the Dharma, through the Sangha, Dharma practitioners and Dharma establishments.

    4. 10 Youthful & Wrathful Attendants. They represent the ten wrathful attendants to avert inner and outer obstacles. They are beings who are from Mongolia, China, Kashmir, India, Bengali, etc.

    5. Setrap. He is a senior Dharma Protector from India and an emanation of Amitabha Buddha. He had enthroned Dorje Shugden as an authentic Dharma Protector. Therefore, he also resides within the same mandala of Dorje Shugden.

    6. Kache Marpo. He is not an emanation of Dorje Shugden but he is still an enlightened Dharma Protector in his own right. He was originally known as Tsiu Marpo of Samye Monastery. However, he has placed himself under the service of Dorje Shugden as his chief minister, performing many activities in order to protect and benefit practitioners. Therefore, he stands guard at the main entrance of Dorje Shugden’s mandala. He often takes trance of qualified mediums to speak.

    7. Namkar Barzin. He is the reincarnation of an old Mongolian monk and when he passed away in Phari area of Tibet, his spirit was placed as a powerful assistant of Dorje Shugden. He guards and protects buildings and great institutions especially those that benefit others. He rides on a mythical Gyaling animal that resembles a goat but with scales.

These sacred images are available on *Vajrasecrets. They are made of high quality alloy and are one of a kind. They are based on the lineage of His Holiness Panchen Rinpoche’s monastery, Tashilhunpo in Shigatse, Tibet. In fact, the iconography of these statues are based on detailed photographs taken by H. E. Tsem Rinpoche during a trip to Tashilhunpo’s protector chapel. These are based exactly as the 10th Panchen Lama’s personal collection.

“If the Dalai Lama, if His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by Dorje Shugden, then we might as well not practice Buddhism anymore. If His Holiness the Dalai Lama can have his life shortened by a so-called evil spirit, any evil spirit, then can he be Avalokiteshvara? So on one hand you say, we say, I say, everybody says, he is Avalokiteshvara; on the other hand you’re saying that he can be harmed by an evil spirit… Which one is it? Can he be harmed by an evil spirit or is he Avalokiteshvara? Do you think Avalokiteshvara, Manjushri, Vajrapani, Tara all take refuge in something else to protect themselves from Dorje Shugden? How illogical is that? How illogical of people to say His Holiness the Dalai Lama can be harmed by an evil spirit, any evil spirit or “Dorje Shugden” evil spirit. How is that possible?” – Tsem Tulku Rinpoche

I rejoice in the opening of a new centre recently by Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche. May the growth of the Buddhadharma benefit many sentient beings into the ten directions. May Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche live long to turn the Dharma wheel.

Thank you for posting Rinpoche. The photos are wonderful. I rejoice for the opening of The Tsongkhapa Meditation Center by Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche here in Canada. Although the center is far from my home, and was once in my home province of New Brunswick, I hope that conditions conducive will one day come about that I may be closer to such accomplished and enlightened masters. Just knowing these scholars and great practitioners of The Buddhadharma are here in Canada is a great comfort and encouragement. May the center continue to grow, see much success and spread the teachings to many. Where there is no Dharma may there be the Guru to plant the seed to see it grow and grow. May the Sangha increase, know good health and bring about much happiness and understanding to those who suffer in this Samsara. Please remain and continue to turn the Wheel of the Dharma to liberate all sentient beings. May the teachings spread far and wide and may all who seek them find solace and great blessing. Because of the kindness, concern, wisdom and compassion of the Guru this world may this world know peace. I closing I would also add that the white flower mentioned is actually a mushroom. It is called Monotropa Uniflora. Known as Indian Pipe, Ghost Pipe or Corpse Pipe! 🙂 I have read it is a powerful medicinal in tincture form used as a pain reliever when all other forms of pain treatment have been expended, including opiates. Most Auspicious and rare indeed. If you cannot find this plant, the Dharma is the next best pain relief I would recommend! :)https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monotropa_uniflora https://www.americanherbalistsguild.com/sites/default/files/donahue_sean_-_ghost_pipe-_a_little_known_nervine.pdf

I rejoice for this most auspicious and meritorious opening of the Tsongkhapa Meditation Center in Canada! This is very, very good news as it signifies the spreading of Je Tsongkhapa’s teachings and Dharma. It also signifies and proves that Dorje Shugden has compassionately helped to clear the obstacles for Je Tsongkhapa’s teaching to be made available to people as far away as Canada, which is technically half the globe away from Asia.

I also rejoice for all of Kechara’s and Your Eminence’s students to be able to attend the opening and present the offerings on your behalf to the center.

May the Dharma continue to flourish and the ban on Dorje Shugden be lifted.

What an auspicious event and a joyous one -the opening of Zawa Rinpoche’s new Dharma center – Tsongkhapa Meditation Center -in St Sophie,Quebec , Canada! It is through centers like this that the Dharma of Tsongkhapa’s tradition will flourish! Many great Masters from all over the world came to support Zawa Rinpoche on the occasion of the opening of his center. A group of Rinpoche’s students were there for the occasion too. It was a great opportunity, which they utilized fully, to let the great Shugden Lamas know about Rinpoche ‘s tireless efforts in proliferating Je Tsongkhapa’s tradition and Dorje Shugden practice here in Malaysia. We remember Zawa Rinpoche with gratitude as he has visited Kechara and performed pujas to bless the land and also taught many rituals.

The many auspicious signs are clear indications that this was a truly great occasion for rejoicing, even among the company of Enlightened Buddhas! Rainbows were seen in the sky; white flowers spontaneously bloomed and these were not native to these parts ! There were 5 coloured lights streaming down when Zawa Rinpoche was installing the Dharma Wheel on the roof of the Gompa! Two ponies came and later disappeared!

All the auspicious signs also indicate that Dorje Shugden have cleared the obstacles for the center to flourish and all the Buddhas are very delighted !

Dorje Shugden has been maligned and demonized by the Tibetan leaderships’s smear campaigns for 20 years. However, when some one actually looks into the allegations against the Protector and examine what the practice is all about, they see the goodness of Dorje Shugden clearly. This comment by ‘Suzy in Hawaii’ is yet another indication that despite all efforts, the anti-Shugden offensive has failed. . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl-4lIwxph4&t=11s

Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa, Tibet

Over 400 years ago a great and learned lama Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was famed in Mongolia, Tibet, Nepal and China for being very saintly and compassionate. He resided in his residence (Zimkhang Gongma Ladrang) in Drepung Monastery. His root guru was H.H. the Omniscient 4th Panchen Lama and his close dharma brother was the 5th Dalai Lama.

The 5th Dalai Lama and Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen had a very close and dharmic relationship and often went to receive teachings together from the 4th Panchen Lama. They were close in age. They both became very learned and well known. During this time, the Dalai Lama was enthroned as a Dharma King of Tibet. But more people went to see Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen for teachings, initiations and divinations. This made the attendants of the 5th Dalai Lama feel threatened that Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s fame might usurp the power of the 5th Dalai Lama. So they had a khata forced down his throat. At that moment, Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen dissolved his psychic winds and generated the wish to be a great guardian of Buddha and Tsongkapa’s teachings. As his consciousness dissolved, he entered ‘bardo’ as a dharma protector of the highest order (jikten depey sungma). Many signs were seen throughout Lhasa at this time and the earth was said to have shaken in Lhasa. This event was already predicted to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s previous incarnation when he was one of the 8 main disciples of Lord Tsongkapa the Supreme Master and he served Tsongkapa directly by building Gaden Monastery.

When the 5th Dalai Lama heard what his scheming and power-hungry attendants had done, he was very distressed. He was very sorry Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was murdered and dishonored as he was a great dharma master. The 5th Dalai Lama composed an apology to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen. In Lhasa, tens of thousands gathered for the cremation of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s holy body. During the cremation, the 5th Dalai Lama’s apology was read out at which flames spontaneously arose from the body of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen commencing the cremation. From the body, during cremation, a powerful whirlwind of smoke tunneled into the sky for all to see as this was an indication Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s consciousness has arisen as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. The Dharma Protector Setrap immediately recognized this new protector Dorje Shugden and ‘enthroned’ him as a powerful Dharma Protector in the realm of the Buddhas. From this, Setrap and Dorje Shugden are closely connected and very close working hand in hand always. After the cremation, the great 5th Dalai Lama built a Dorje Shugden chapel on the spot the cremation took place and named it Trode Khangsar. The 5th Dalai Lama commissioned the statue of Dorje Shugden in this chapel and had monks installed in the chapel to do continuous propitiations to Dorje Shugden. Trode Khangsar Chapel was a commemoration to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who was wronged and also a celebration of his consciousness arising as the World Peace Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

This Trode Khangsar Chapel still exists now in Lhasa where many make pilgrimages there. It is in good condition and was recently renovated. It is over 400 years old and a testimony to the respect the Great 5th Dalai Lama had to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who arose as Dorje Shugden.

I have visited this holy chapel in Lhasa years back. I’ve never heard of it till I was in Lhasa and by chance, I was told about it which I was happy to visit. I could not find the place but strangely a bunch of pilgrims from Amdo told me they would show me how to get there in Lhasa.

This short video is a short clip of this holy Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa today commemorating Dorje Shugden, built by the great 5th Dalai Lama. The great 5th Dalai Lama even composed a prayer to Dorje Shugden which is still available today and we can recite to invoke the blessings, protection, and assistance of World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

    HUM
Though unmoving from the sphere of primordial spontaneity,
With wrathful turbulent power, swifter than lightning,
Endowed with heroic courage to judge good and bad,
I invite you with faith, please come to this place!

Robes of a monk, crown adorned with rhinoceros leather hat,
Right hand holds ornate club, left holds a human heart,
Riding various mounts such as nagas and garudas,
Who subdues the mamos of the charnel grounds, praise to you!

Samaya substances, offerings and torma, outer, inner and secret,
Favourite visual offerings and various objects are arranged.
Although, previously, my wishes were a bit dense,
Do not stop your powerful apparitions, I reveal and confess!

Now respectfully praising with body, speech, and mind,
For us, the masters, disciples, benefactors and entourages,
Provide the good and avert the bad!
Bring increase like the waxing moon in spiritual and temporal realms!

    Moreover, swiftly accomplishing all wishes,
According to our prayers, bestow the supreme effortlessly!
And like the jewel that bestows all wishes,

Zawa Rinpoche has been very supportive towards Tsem Rinpoche’s work and Kechara. Hence when we heard about his new centre opening, we were all very glad for Rinpoche and rejoiced. It was an honour for Tsem Ladrang to be invited to attend the centre opening in Canada. We were glad to be given this chance to be physically there and witnessed the auspicious event and that we were able to meet many practitioners from the west. It was a very precious and enjoyable event whereby all the practitioners were gathered for the same purpose. I’m so glad to see the unity, care and love in everyone. Without the Lama’s perseverance in upholding the lineage, it’ll be difficult for us to access to Dharma in this era.

Meritoriously, many good auspicious signs have appeared in the surrounding areas of the new centre, both at the time of its opening and therafter. As this is said to be the third new centre where Kyabse Zawa Rinpoche has established, it take a lot his inner and outer hard efforts to make this possible, apart from the good blessing that he has. The camaraderie, warmth and sincerity permeate through the pics as they hold on to their practice regardless of the insurmountable pressures from others.

It is through rough times like the discrimination of Dorje Shugden that enable us to see who our real friends are and who are true to their spiritual practice.

May Kyabje Zawa Rinpoche live long and continue to turn the wheel of Buddhadharma in all ten directions.

  42. Pastor Henry Ooi on Aug 22, 2015 at 10:48 am

Rejoicing news and congratulations to Venerable Zawa Rinpoche on the opening of new Buddhist Centre De Méditation Tsongkhapa. From there may dharma spread like wildfire to all regions and corners of the world. May many come to know and learn the teachings of Lama Tsongkhapa and also engage in the practices Dorje Shugden.

Many religions believe in Karma. Karma means a deed or an act. The three major religions that believe in Karma are Sikhism, Hinduism, and Buddhism.

Life is about what you give, not what you get. It’s about putting into daily practice the kinds of things we’ve all heard many times. Do good for others and good may happen to you.

As per the law of karma, every positive deed which we do, generates a merit, while every negative deed results in a demerit or sin which subsequently we need to repay by enduring happiness or unhappiness.

Thanks you for the deeper understanding of karma.

Heartfelt watching this video again, what a royal dog named Mimi was. Could imagined waited on the same spot for her owner who had left her for 8 years. Looks like the owner had intended to leave her there, when shifting house. Its only when the SPCA found Mimi’s owner she was taken back yet not for too long she was left alone again. Sad tale indeed when any one decide to own a dog think twice. A dog is a man best friend yet please don’t leave them at least gave to someone to care . Poor Mimi such a royal dog , sufferings from being left out, abused as stray dog and suffered through all the surgeries because of cancer. SPCA did a good job , thank you for taking care of Mimi.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing of the story of Singapore’s Hachiko named Mimi.

Thank you for the interesting article and deep discovering of the beautiful mother nature of Kedah. Besides the historical site, the largest producer of rice in Malaysia, Kedah is a land of peace and tranquility.

The wonderful Kedah holds the most famous attractions in Langkawi Island, the sandy beaches to green forest parks and virgin rainforest on highlands. Kedah too is a great place for a good taste of northern Malaysian culture and the best relaxing vacation destination for nature lovers and the family.

Worth to be on a vegetarian for many reasons such as health , making a positive environmental and ethical impact and saving animals life. For some people, eating vegetarian is a way to be healthier and for others, eating this way has more to do with religion, animal rights, or environmental concerns. Many studies have shown that vegetarians are less likely to get chronic diseases such as heart disease, cholesterol and diabetes. A vegetarian diet reduced the risk for cancer in general I would say that. But what is important basically is not to harm animals, give them a chance to live.
Thank you Rinpoche for this simple meaningful sharing.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing on yours thoughts and explaining clearly all about the pure lineage of the Dorje Shugden practice . Rinpoche had explained clearly on the many aspects of why the ban on Dorje Shugden is wrong. Rinpoche had spent so much of his time doing these videos to clear any doubts among practitioners. What Rinpoche had done solely for the benefits of all. Read and watching those videos , many will get to understand the situation much better than just listening to the other side. Rinpoche had shared his sincere thoughts, hoping these will lead to a peaceful resolution for everyone concerned. Tibetan leadership should share views with the Chinese government so that they can work together in preserving the rich Tibetan heritage, language, culture and religion in Tibet. Having dialogue is most important because as through dialogue, mutual respect, good language, good intention, can solve any problem as such the Dorje Shugden problem. Over 400 years many great and spiritual masters have been practicing Dorje Shugden , they are not wrong. Dorje Shugden is an enlightened Dharma Protector after all.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing . May more people get to watch all these video which Rinpoche had spent countless of hours to share clearing doubts .

Great news indeed, we have been waiting for this day to when HH Dalai Lama would made a statement regarding the Dorje Shugden. Finally on this auspicious day Wesak day where all Buddhist celebrates it, HH Dalai Lama on such an auspicious day made a unexpected statement using the teaching to address a topic which has caught many by surprised . On this Wesak Day 2021 would mark the beginning of religious freedom and liberation for millions of Dorje Shugden practitioners all over the world. The Dalai Lama has softens his approach towards Dorje Shugden, by saying there is no reason or need to discriminate against the practice of Dorje Shugden, or to reject it. The Dalai Lama is the spiritual leader of the Tibetan people and considered a living Buddha of compassion, a reincarnation of the bodhisattva Chenrezig. Well this is the moment all of us and the rest of Dorje Shugden ‘s practitioners have been waiting for . For the last 26 years many had suffered due the ban on the practice, disharmony, discrimination, segregation throughout the Tibetan Buddhist community worldwide.
Thank you with folded hands HH the Dalai Lama for upholding the universal values of religious freedom.
Our Guru Tsem Rinpoche always believed, that the change will come gradually and slowly, for Dalai Lama to lift the ban.
Thank you, its definitely a great news.

A detailed write-up , thank you Pastor David for this sharing, learning some knowledge from here. In polytheistic religions, deities are used to refer to several divine beings. Different religions, cultures and mythologies of the world have each different deities which they appeased. The basic concept of whatever one worship is the same in order to be granted protection or a favour. It was not until the arrival of Buddhism where the Buddhist concept of worship changes. Not only about appeasing a deity, they engaged in spiritual practice and in formal meditational practices to transform ourselves.
It is not about appeasing a deity, but engaging in formal meditational practices to transform ourselves. The purpose of deity practice in Buddhism ,we purify karma, accumulate merits and creating the causes and conditions for spiritual realizations and to eventually become enlightened ourselves.
Thanks again Pastor for this interesting sharing.

I am from USA. Oceanside California My husband divorced me 4 months back and I have been filled with remorse for I didn’t know what to do to amend issues with my husband. I searched for help on the internet on how I could get help in my marriage and I discovered great testimonies about Priest Owo who has been progressive with his spells. I got in touch with him and behold, Priest Owo told me that he will prepare a spell for me that will bring back my husband. I was skeptical but I had no other option but to work with him. 2 days later, my husband called me that he’s coming back home and from that day till this moment, we have been living peacefully. He is back now with so much love and caring. today i am glad to let you all know that this spell caster has the power to bring lovers back and the most surprising thing is that our love is very strong now, every day is happiness and joy. and There is nothing like being with the man you love. I will highly recommend Priest Owo to anyone one out there who need his help whatsoever. If you have any problem contact Priest Owo,  his WhatsApp number:+234 903 528 3352  I give you 100% guarantee that he will help you !his email address: drowoherbs@gmail.com

Reading over and over again this article always have me thinking. There must be something special or interesting. Dorje shugden which is propitiated by the Sakyas many centuries ago. Dorje Shugden was first enthroned and propitiated within the Sakya School before becoming a widespread protector practice within the Gelug tradition. Many Sakyas throne holders are considered to be incarnations of divine beings and from unbroken hereditary. Dorje Shugden practice is not sectarian as claimed but an enlightened protector who has an extraordinary related with the Sakya lineage. Dorje Shugden is not just a minor practice but was indeed a major protector practice within the Sakya tradition. Since the the 30th Sakya Trizin Sonam Rinchen time, Dorje Shugden been worshipped as a Dharma protector. The practice of this Dharma Protector was then passed on to the rest of the Sakyas tradition. Of the 42 supreme throne holders throughout the history of the Sakya tradition, six of the thrones holders are confirmed to have practiced Dorje Shugden. They built chapels to him, composed prayers and pujas as well. It has proven Dorje Shugden has a long history of association and practice within the Sakya School of Tibetan Buddhism. They even promoted Dorje Shugden’s practice within the sacred Sakya lineage. Interesting read of a GREAT Lama.
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor David for this great sharing.

Christmas Humphreys an inspiring prolific writer and editor, was an English barrister and later became a judge at the Old Bailey. Followed by the tragedy of his brother’s death in World War 1, which lead to the awakening of his interest in Buddhism and Theosophy. He was the best-known British convert to Buddhism, who has practiced both Zen and the law with equal success . He founded the London Buddhist Society, which would become hugely influential in the spread of Buddhism throughout the West. During his legal tenure ,he was involved in many homicide cases that caused much controversy. He is a man of immense generosity and compassion. As an intellectual and visionary, he applied unique Buddhist teachings in everyday life. Christmas Humphreys dedicated much of his life to Dharma and to make the Buddhist Society known to all. He wrote a number of books on Mahayana Buddhism. He describes, with some of the endlessly amusing stories that attracted many readers worldwide. His known published works are mainly dealing with Buddhism. Interesting read….truly an inspiring man.

The existence of angels has been discussed for centuries in legendary, philosophical, and religious writings. Do they exist ?? Well it remain something of a mystery. To me angels truly exist as a spiritual beings and have been revealed to us, mostly to increase one’s faith. Angels act as an ambassadors and messengers of some sort. Those days I used to think angels appeared in the Christmas story that belong to a unique part of creation. Many Christians have reported experiences that they have had encounters with them. Watching this video, tells us more they the angels are most likely ancient aliens.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

Find one of the most beautiful temples in the world in Nara, Japan. It is the 1,267 year old Todai-ji temple that houses a 15 meter Buddha Vairocana statue who is a cosmic and timeless Buddha. Emperor Shomu who sponsored this beautiful temple eventually abdicated and ordained as a Buddhist monk. Very interesting history and story. What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

Underprivileged residents of two PPRs in Kuala Lumpur recently received a total of 427kg from our longterm surplus produce sponsor, Lotuss Stores (formerly Tesco Stores). The 65 families are our regular beneficiaries, and are grateful to receive fresh vegetables on a consistent basis right at their doorstep. One of our recipients, Rajeswari, 52, single mother of 2 children, shared that she stopped receiving welfare aid due to unforeseen circumstances. Her words: "Saya cakap untuk Kechara [Soup Kitchen] banyak terima kasih sebab kasi makanan. Dan lebih mau tolong orang lain yang susah seperti saya". Some of the food items given include rice, noodles, cooking oil and biscuits; in total, we gave 726kg of food to these beneficiaries from the underprivileged class. Apart from food, daily used items such as hygiene products, kitchen utensils, assorted fabric items, stationary items and toys were also included into our hamper bags making it extra heavier this month! Food items alone were about 35kg per family! Taking this opportunity to wish everyone of our Muslim volunteers, friends, supporters and clients a Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Maaf Zahir Batin. Our team have been working extra hours for the past few weeks to deliver provisions and hamper goodies to the needy families before Hari Raya! Heart warming to see the smiling faces of our recipients upon receiving 3 bags full of food and daily used items. Thanks to everyone of you who have contributed to our foodbank enabling us to give all our recipients (especially those celebrating) a Raya to remember! - Vivian @ Kechara Soup Kitchen
