Creating Harmony: 20 Quotes from Tsem Rinpoche
Buddhism is often associated with meditation, prayers, mantras, and deep philosophical discussions on karma and reincarnation. However, as His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche reminds us,
“The real practice right now, for all of us, is to bring incredible harmony to every single person who comes into contact with us.”
Rather than talking about world peace, karma, enlightenment or future lives, Rinpoche urged us to focus on contemplating and fostering harmony in our immediate lives and families first. To truly benefit the world, we must begin by cultivating harmony among those closest to us — the people we spend the most time with. This begins with small, deliberate steps in our daily interactions with them.
“Today, Dharma is about creating beautiful, harmonious relationships with the people around us, to forgive the wrongs that others have done to us, and to forgive ourselves also for the wrongs we have done. Then we move on to becoming happy, light, carefree individuals who can bring this light to other people. ~ Tsem Rinpoche”
Here are 20 tweets from Rinpoche that offer practical advice on cultivating harmony. May Rinpoche’s wisdom inspire us all to contribute to a better world, no matter who we are and wherever we may be.
