Sometimes we have to read things that is beyond our comprehension of why so much sufferings is necessary in order to create awareness. It’s happening whether you want to know about it or not. So better you know and maybe do something about it.

What is a Bait Dog – YOU DON’T LIKE THE PICTURE? – FACE THE TRUTH AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. WE ALL HAT IT – BUT SOMEONE MUST STOP THIS – WHY WONT YOU HELP?????!!!!!
A bait dog is basically a punching bag for game (fighting) dogs. Except we all know that dogs don’t punch, they bite and tear. Dog fighters use bait dogs to let their game dogs practice mutilating another dog, without being harmed in… the process. To insure their dogs aren’t damaged, they will either use duct tape to tape the bait dog’s mouth shut, or break out their teeth so the bait dog can’t fight back. They also either, put them in a pit, or tie them to a tree or pole, so that they can’t get away from the game dogs. And I did say dogs, plural, because they generally unleash several dogs on one bait dog at the same time. It makes the game dogs more aggressive, since there is competition.
To me, this about the most horrific form of animal abuse there is. I know that’s hard to weigh, because there are so many forms of abuse, but using bait dogs is right up there at the top. The mass majority of bait dogs don’t survive, and obviously suffer horrible deaths, spending their last moments in excruciating pain and are scared to death, before it comes. The ones who do survive, are maimed and scarred for life, both physically and emotionally. Very few who survived being used. It’s the saddest thing you’ll ever see, looking into the soul of a dog who has just been rendered helpless and defenseless, and mutilated by his own kind, at the hand of a human. These dogs make amazing recoveries and be able to transition into a somewhat normal life.
A bait dog can be any dog. It could be your dog. Although they (the monsters who use them) prefer to use non-aggressive or submissive Pit Bulls, they will easily use anything they can get for free. When they get Pits who won’t fight, or don’t fight well, they use them for bait dogs. They are well known for stealing other people’s pet Bullies as well. They will take them right out of your yard or fence if they can. But, they will also take any other dog they can get their hands on. When it comes down to it, they need fur, flesh, blood and meat to replicate a dog fight, so anything with all of that is fair game.
Dogs are also used as bait for hunting. They even use them as shark bait, but that is whole other topic right there. If people really knew what was going on out there, so many more of them would stand up and do something. That’s why it is my job, and yours, to educate them and get them to open their eyes. So they will wake up, get their head out of the sand and stand with us, in our fight to make a difference and change things. This has got to be stopped. The sub-humans who do this must be punished harshly for their actions. We are the only hope and protection these abused animals have against these monsters of our own species. We must stand up for them, and fight back against these abusers. We are the voice of the voiceless and we will not back down, nor will we be silenced or go away….ever! Never Surrender, Never Give Up! They are counting on us……

It is very cruel to use animals for our selfish desire. Historically, human have been using animals for entertainment. For example, animals including elephants, whales, dolphins, tigers, lions, bears are trained in the circuses or theme parks to entertain people. Throughout the training process, the animals are beaten up so they will listen to the commands.
When these animals are not in the training of performance, they are locked up in cages. It happened before that animals in circuses went crazy due to the stress and attacked people. They ended up being shot dead.
In this case, dogs are used as a bait for other dogs to attack it. It is extremely cruel. The dog has to suffer so much before it dies. Imagine the fear it has when being attacked by so many dogs? Not only it has to suffer physically, it has to suffer psychologically too. We must stop this, we have not right to make animals suffer like this.
It is very horrible even for them to think of this game and get another dog as a bait. Human is a cruel creature to have such idea and create so much suffering to satisfy ourselves. We should not support such game and I hope authority will ban and take action against these organisers.

当人的智能滥用来伤害另一个生命，而且是有系统、有策划、有意地用来作出伤害和产生痛苦时，那就谈不上是智慧了。
每个人都喜欢欢乐、娱乐，不过当那个娱乐会给另一生命造成巨大、持续，甚至生不如死的痛苦时，那份痛苦将淹没我们享受的欢愉，那份欢愉就不是纯粹的了，也不是值得去追求的了。有句话说的不要罷快乐建立在他人的痛苦之上就是这个道理吧。
但愿你我在寻找娱乐节目时，多一分清醒，多一分智慧。
This is so disgusting and sickening! How can human be so heartless! Poor dogs have to suffer in the hands of human greed and desire!
Do not turn a blind eye to animal abuse! Please help to spread the news around so less animals will suffer.
This is very unnecessary, out of greed and pleasure human cruelly had the animals fight for each others’ life. This is very inhumane for human to treat animals this way. Animals help us to be better human but not this. This is really not necessary. I’m sharing this out and let more people know that this is happening. This is really shocking to know and is truly a mind opening informations.
All these just for the sake to entertain some of us that liked violence and gambling. So many dogs suffered for the pain & fear, i really hope this to end…

Negative actions there is no silver lining at all, dogs are hurt and the people who perpetrated this also create a lot of negativity for them to suffer future sufferings. There is no benefit at all. That is why the wise shun negative actions.
I’m horrified and heart broken after reading this. I can not imagine being a bait, do not even dare to look at the picture for a second time, but it is very important that I get to read this article to understand more and to increase my knowledge on what is going on out there. It never seize to shock me when I read about how animal cruelty is done to animals, to the same species as human. I could not think of things like to do to an animal, I wouldn’t feel fun & enjoyable by hurting them either. I’m thankful and grateful that some one else is doing all they can to create awareness of animals cruelty and I’m lucky to be in Kechara because we are starting our own Kechara Animal Sanctuary to help the poor animals. Please be part of any cause that help animals, they really need us to speak for them, because they can’t for themselves.

Though it is sad we really have to do something about it no matter how bad it may be or whether we like it or not.
I am just so taken aback that humans are just taking advantage of animals such as dogs and using them against their will.
It is just crazy why people would want to use an object that is already a lower class than us and yet people still want to abuse them and put them in to such torture.
I really hope that such torture will end soon.

This is so disturbing, using dog as a bait practice for their own fight dog to practice…
I am absolutely disgusted by this, that dog is absolutely terrified and looks almost like its giving up on its life. Such a poor little baby. It really makes me sick to the stomach why would someone have the kind of mind set to actually go through with this sort of act. It is almost to the purest of evil. What kindof sick, demented, human being would put these poor helpless animals through this? Just so they can earn some money? Just so they can laugh about it? Just so they can be entertained? If it was all those reason then i’m afraid there’s something wrong with their minds and definitely need help. May these poor animals be free some suffering and take a good rebirth to some where more loving. We definitely need to be aware of the evil acts that exist within the world .
This is so cruel! Can you imagine yourself being tied with a tree, and can’t do anything but allow others to beat you up? When I look at the picture above, I see a lot of pain and disappointment. Instead of us freeing them from suffering, we are actually making them suffer, I feel very ashamed because we are beings who can think, who can talk and who have the ability to stop all these. But instead of stopping these activities, we are actually putting them into that position where they have to either fight or in some cases, die. We should stop all these already.

The idea of a bait dog is very stupid. It is forcing animals to fight animals, so that they can fight and kill more animals. The bait dogs have no say in this and they are completely defenseless. Horrendous actions like these create the causes for these people to suffer in their future lives. So, I hope they see the error of their ways quickly.
Even if we do not like animals, at the very least, we should not harm them. This is so sad that we have to use lovable animals like dogs who are loyal to human as punching bags. This cruel act has to be stopped.
This is so mean. How can they be so mean to the dogs like that. By, making them bait dogs, i can’t imagine how much pain they are in during the time that the other dogs attack them. And when i read that they even broke off their teeth so that they cannot fight back, i had a chill in my body because that just sounds so painful. And i don’t think that they would use any painkillers to help the dog.
We must help these dogs, i too agree that out of all the forms of dog abuse there are, this is amongst one of the top methods. Its cruel that they make other dogs do the work. So sad.
Reading this make’s me feel terrible towards the dog, but so many other animals are also suffering. We may just say but not do anything, we may feel pity towards it but still do nothing. Is it because we’re helpless? Is it because we can’t bother? I wonder why people do this…..hmmm
Oh dear… this is sickening to. I have never heard about ‘bait dogs’ before. I have always wondered how people train their fighting dogs without having them hurt, but it never occurred to me that they would use a method so cruel such as this. I think this is the worst side of dog fighting… how terrible to be in a position where one can’t defend itself and just wait for a slow death.

Some people say, whats the point of helping one dog? There are still millions that suffer out there. But please keep this in mind, we may not be able to help all the dogs in the world now, but for that one dog we help, it is the whole world to him… it changed his life forever. Please never turn a blind eye to help animals just because its inconvenient
I so agree with you Sarah. Even if we help ONE dog, at least it is one dog less who is suffering. When people say that what can one person do… and then do nothing, it is just a cop out. If everyone could help just ONE dog, we would definitely be in a better place with these poor animals. Rinpoche always says that we alone cannot do much, him alone cannot do much but together we can do a lot and that is so true…

I really felt sick and wanted to stretch my hands in to the computer screen and save the poor dog. Why would people even enjoy watching this sick game of dogs fighting.Can’t they imagine themselves as the dogs fighting and themselves being the bait dogs. STOP THIS GAME RIGHT NOW!! End this suffering of the dogs let the people suffer like how the dogs suffer.
It was sad to know that how the dogs being abused as bait dogs. How the human can become monster to torture the dogs? So cruel and iresponsible. We urge to stop such inhuman action!

The moment when I see this picture I feel very sad and angry. How is that possible a human being can do this to a innocent animal this is so cruel. To all the pet owner please protect your pets from become a victims. Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this news with us.
Another horrific story to remind us how inhumane human beings are. Actually, just reading the daily newspaper will tell you how horrible human beings can be – the murder, rapes, torture. And that is to other human beings, let alone helpless animals like the bait dogs in this report.
I know a lot of people who are disturbed by this kind of news, saying that they would rather not know. Would they rather not know about the people starving in Ethiopia? Or even down the road? Because perhaps if they knew about it, they would maybe need to do something to do something about it.
Maybe people don’t like it because they feel they can’t do anything about it. Or they think they can’t do anything about it. But actually there is always something we can do. The very least is to share this kind of information so perhaps you can’t do anything about it, but it will reach someone who can.
It’s shocking and heart-breaking knowing this happens in this modern world and cruel for human to use dogs who are helpless and have no choice but to suffer in the hands of some cruel people who I consider is worst than a beast! I pray someone out there have enough power to once and for all stop this inhuman act and stricter law must be punished for those who have done this!
Although this was such a painful piece to read, thank you for sharing it here, Rinpoche. I just cannot begin to comprehend how people would do such things to these innocent animals for money or pleasure. The photo of the battered dog sitting so dejectedly is really heart wrenching. Another reminder of Hell on earth.
This just makes me sick to my stomach.. I cannot imagine having myown body (or anyone else’s for that matter) as a bait/punching bag. It is just pure torture to the flesh and soul.. NOBODY deserves this kind of treatment. Poor doggies being used as baits/punching bags. Poor doggies.. I hope that their life and Karmas to be tortured would end soon. I also pity the people who does this because of the karma they’re creating for themselves. Horrible!
We definitely DO NOT have the right to do this! We need to stop this right now. Eating meat is already bad, but using them as baits/punching bags and torturing them is just a whole new level of animal abuse!
