Yee Ling completes 100,000 water offerings!
Yee Ling is currently residing on the outskirts of New York. She has just recently finished her 100,000 water bowl retreat! 100,000 water offerings are part of the preliminary practices to higher tantric practice… the other two are 100,000 butterlamp offerings and 100,000 prostrations.
Upon completing her 100,000 water offering retreat, Yee Ling decided to dedicate her retreat to myself, and for the manifestation of Kechara Forest Retreat and Kechara Village. Thank you very much!

Even though I do not Yee Ling personally for her completion of 100,000 water bowl retreat. Water Bowl Offerings is a foundation basic practice in Vajrayana Buddhism . It teaches us generosity, helping us overcome stinginess. In Tibetan Buddhism , unique water offerings are probably the most common offering and accepted by the masters of the past. Its also a powerful practices to help increase our merits and cut down our miserliness.
May more people joining this powerful practice to complete their 100000 bowls of water offering as one of the preliminary practice.

Although personally i do not know Yee Ling but i really rejoice with her achievement.
That is really a good news to know that more and more people had completed their 100000 bowls of water offering to Buddha as one of the preliminary practice.
And their achievement can encourage more people to invest more time in doing retreat or dharma work. Besides, more people doing such practice means the dharma is growing in this region.

Rejoice Yee Ling! This is really great effort to complete 100,000 water offerings even you are so far from Guru. Your motivation, effort, consistency and perseverance are truly inspiring!
From you, i truly learned that the physical distance is not the main issue. If our heart and motivation is correct, we will still go far in our spiritual practice. In fact, now with the online blog and social media, there is no more distance for us and no excuse for us not to learn from Rinpoche! Instead, we in KL should do even more while our Guru is so near to us.

This is a beautiful offering and it doesn’t cost any money. Anybody can do it and ultimately, it benefits yourself more than anything else. 100,000 water bowl offerings is not small feat and it is done complete with specific prayers as recommended to her by Tsem Rinpoche himself. Reading this inspires me and also may I be able to complete my preliminaries as well.
Water bowl retreat is a tremendous benefits in clearing the mind, having deeper insight into the teachings and not to mention, accumulating vast amounts of merits. When this along with the other preliminaries are completed is part of the requirements in preparation for Tantra, which is to receive Vajrayogini’s practice.
Rejoice for Yee Ling. With deep devotion and discipline, Yee Ling completed her 100,000 water offerings and dedicated it to Rinpoche’s long life, Kechara Forest Retreat and Kechara Village. This is a wonderful achievement and I congratulate Yee Ling. To make water offerings itself is not a difficult task but to have completed 100,000 water offerings requires devotion, effort and concentration and I am very glad that Yee Ling dedicated the merits to Rinpoche. In so doing she dedicated her merits to someone who can teach the Dharma to many and thereby provide them with untold benefits. It is also good to note that although Yee Ling is away, her heart is still with Kechara and she wishes to see Kechara Forest Retreat come up quickly. Thank you Yee Ling.

Everyone has their part to play for the manifestation of Kechara Forest Retreat, Yee Ling is very sincere and consistent, when she was in KL last month, she went to KFR almost everyday to volunteer, and while she’s there, she does not just sit there and relax, she really work for the whole day except break for lunch or a short break. She always look for things to do.
When she was far away, although she could not involve physically, she did her prayer and completed 100,000 water offering and dedicate to KFR. She will just involve in whatever way she can. How wonderful that she can do it.

Congratulations Yee Ling! I remember talking to you about your water offering retreat and comparing procedures. I’m so happy for you for completing two very important preliminary practices. I’m still struggling with the water offering retreat I’m doing collectively with Adeline Tan and Tan Gim Lee. Our count now is 80,000 plus. We hope to finish soon. Wish us luck!

The best offering to our Lama is that of a mind transformed by practice and this offering shows that you have commitment, perseverance and consistency. Many people say they cannot commit to the preliminary practices because they have other commitments but i hope that your achievement will inspire them and show them that anyone can do it, we just have to set our mind to do it!

Wow, very nice to see one of Rinpoche’s student, Yee Ling, whom although live physically far from Rinpoche, but always have Rinpoche close to her heart and mind. True Guru devotion do not matter where we reside, it is a matter of practice and following one’s Guru instructions and advice to further our spiritual practice.
Yee Ling is a wonderful woman. I have had the fortune to meet her a few times when she came back to Malaysia, a very nice lady and I’m truly looking forward to see her the next time she comes back home.

This is wonderful news and I’m so happy to hear of how well Yee Ling is doing even though she’s far away. Recently, when she was back in KL for a few weeks, she was also physically up in KFR almost every day to help with volunteer and plant works there. So it’s nice to see how she does prayers from afar from KFR and then also contributed physically to its growth.

I am happy to hear such a wonderful news. To complete 100,000 water offering is no small feat. Completing it means we are willing to give our time, our effort, our dedications for the Dharma. This is something everyone can do at their home with a family and children with a job. It creates more discipline and perseverance for ourselves. At end the one who benefitted the most is us because we develop the good qualities in us because we are offering to an enlightened being, a Buddha.
