Compassion on the Streets
Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) came out on the national papers again! It’s a very well-written and beautiful article on the work that KSK does for the homeless and urban poor of KL. The writer explains how when we are out and about in “our lives”, most of us forget about the less fortunate. We go to work, come home, go for dinner, come home, go out for a movie, come home, and often we don’t see those on the streets when we’re on transit. We don’t see the man sleeping on the bus stop bench or the lady laying with her kid under the bridge or the old man looking for old recyclable materials..we just go about on our own way.
This article appeals to readers that if the article has moved them, or if the work that KSK does moves them to please sponsor a few items and to donate used clothing etc. It also asks if any of the readers are a medical personnel’s like doctors or qualified nurses..to please come for the food distribution rounds, so that they can use their skill to benefit the homeless.

Thank you Rinpoche for posting for KSK again. After many years of taking new volunteers and friends to the streets to distribute food. I am not surprise about what Rinpoche mentioned that most of the people do not realized that there are homeless people on the street. Very hard for new volunteers to recognise the homeless until I pointed out to them.
Through the kindness of the media by writing good articles and putting up nice pictures on the paper created awareness to the public that there are many homeless existed in the city and they need our help and care.
KSK has received tremendous support from the media. We had reached out to so many kind people who trusted KSK, shared KSK vision and supported KSK for years.
Good post! jfgoiprjg
