Career

The Personal Year Number represents the tendencies and trends which impact your work path and career choices. It indicates your strong potential for a specific career path. Although it is not a guarantee of success as there are other (larger) cycles and factors to take into account, if you put in the effort, the chances of you progressing and flourishing in these careers are higher.

Career Advice for Personal Year Number 3

In the Personal Year Number 3, you may be influenced to integrate more emotional harmony (a Number 2 quality) and grounding (a Number 4 quality) into your work life. Under the influence of Personal Year Number 3, you will seek a new direction to expand your horizons, be it in the form of travelling to new destinations, setting up a new branch of your organisation or expanding your business. You have enough confidence to carry out these tasks and you will want to go with the flow, allowing life to carry you along.

In addition, due to the influence of Number 3, different leads will come knocking at your door and you can afford to try new methods before deciding which is best. However, you should think through matters rationally and objectively to evaluate your situation before taking any drastic steps bearing in mind the risks and consequences. You can also leverage the quality of stillness triggered by Number 3 to take some time off to contemplate on important work issues.

The energy of Personal Year Number 3 also encompasses a sense of humour, which will help you lighten up at work. In addition, Number 3 is associated with superficiality, and you will find yourself being more bubbly and more able to engage in “small talk”, joking and in general letting your hair down. However, you must exercise caution to not be seen as not being serious about your work. Your boss or clients may not view your humour in the same way you do. Thus, it would serve you well to not focus too much on socialising and instead focus on getting the job done.

Due to the influence of Personal Year Number 3, you will feel in control and may end up doing many things all at once. However, you must not spread yourself too thin and deliver work of superficial quality. It would be better for you to prioritise important areas of growth and do them well rather than attempting to do everything now.

Personal Year Number 3 may encourage you to express your creative and artistic side such as drawing, painting, cooking, writing, or even playing musical instruments. You may even consider taking on jobs which bring out your intellectual interests.

Health

The importance of health is not just physical, but also mental and spiritual. Good health requires a balance of mind, body and spirit, but achieving this delicate balance is usually easier said than done. One could be free from physical sickness yet suffer from severe depression. In short, illness is an indication that the three components (body, mind and spirit) are out of sync and there are life issues which must be addressed. Thus, knowing the health trends associated with your Personal Year Number will give you a better insight into the factors that influence your overall wellbeing.

Health Advice for Personal Year Number 3

The key emphasis for Personal Year Number 3 is expansion, and you should expand your life following the emphasis of the previous years i.e. balancing your emotions and health. Under the influence of Number 3, you can expand on the ability to open up emotionally which you began honing in Personal Year Number 2. Your self-expression will increase your confidence level and help boost your physical body with positive energy.

However, the influence of Number 3 can trigger a burst of enthusiasm, causing you to want to do too much too quickly. You may also focus on too many things all at one go. You need to pace yourself.

With the influence of Personal Year Number 3, you will find it easier to deal with problems which you previously thought too difficult. For example, although you hate being sick and vulnerable, if you do fall sick during this period of time, you will make less fuss and be able to handle it better. You will have a different perspective that all illnesses exist to teach you something about yourself, and even being sick, you will be able to expand your life in some way as your self-awareness grows.

You will also become mentally stronger and can let things go without being too self-critical and go with the flow. You will lighten up and learn to laugh at yourself which makes you less prone to stress. In essence, being under the influence of Number 3 will teach you to let go, and let life and health sort themselves out in their own time.

Keep a lookout for health problems associated with your circulatory system, muscular aches and mental stress and exhaustion from overthinking.

Relationships

The Personal Year Number reveals the potentials, challenges and qualities of your relationship that may develop during that given cycle. By understanding the various effects of the nine Personal Year cycles, you will be able to face your relationship challenges with more clarity.

Relationship Advice for Personal Year Number 3

In Personal Year Number 3, you will focus on expanding your relationships either through frequent meet ups or by working closer together. Some decisions you made in the past year (which influences decision-making) may help you expand your relationships even further this year.

As is the nature of things, there will be a period of contraction before the relationship expansion begins. It will serve you well to take time out for contemplation. The clarity that you will gain will lead to a better, more dynamic chemistry between yourself and others. It is also possible that you will gain clarity on the nature and direction of your relationship.

Life rarely turns out the way you expect and you may be dealt experiences that you need instead of what you want. You can leverage on the energy of Number 3 to learn to let go and to move on, learning how to make decisions based on the flow and dynamics of the relationship. It is also likely that you will encounter some resistance in your efforts to expand your relationship. It will serve you well to handle this resistance accordingly, since challenges are part and parcel of the process of moving forward.

Under the influence of Personal Year Number 3, you will be somewhat conflicted when it comes to conflicts. On one hand, you may find yourself trying to refrain from conflict to the extent that you stay away from certain people. On the other hand, you may be influenced to enjoy conflicts between people, but be aware of the negative consequences as dictated by the law of karma.

For a rich and fulfilling relationship, you must open up and be honest about yourself. This will also encourage others to share which not only helps in your personal growth but also the positive expansion of your relationships.

Thank you so much for this article. This article is mainly about the personal year number, 3, which is related to expansion. Based on the career, they will seek a new direction to expand their horizons, be it in the form of travelling to new destinations, setting up a new branch of their organisation or expanding their business.

Based on the health, they should expand their life following the emphasis of the previous years by balancing their emotions and health. If we truly practise Dharma, there will be no problem in making things a success. Dharma is about the attitude. The right attitude is to be mindful, consistent and persistent. When we do something, whether big or small, it will affect someone in some extent. Always strive to do things perfectly and make it convenient for others.

GREAT NEWS FOR ALL ANIMAL LOVERS! The ban on animal testing has reached another milestone!

Now in the European Union (EU), all cosmetic products that are tested on animals are banned! It hasn’t taken full effect, but it has been implemented. The previous ban that was implemented in 2009 to stop animal testing, was also re-enforced so that no animals are allowed to be used even if it is to test on complex health effects such as cancer.

Animal cruelty is widespread across the globe. Fortunately, awareness about animal cruelty is also growing. We now see many famous celebrities speaking up against animal cruelty, and I find that very touching and a good use of the fame that they have. However, their efforts are not quite enough as many more animals still go through much sufferings, sometimes they go unnoticed!

Is there any form of animal cruelty happening in your own or neighbours backyard?

Freedom and Jeff Freedom and I have been together 11 years this summer. She came in as a baby in 1998 with two broken wings. Her left wing doesn’t open all the way even after surgery, it was broken in 4 places. She’s my baby.

When Freedom came in she could not stand and both wings were broken. She was emaciated and covered in lice. We made the decision to give her a chance at life, so I took her to the vet’s office. From then on, I was always around her. We had her in a huge dog carrier with the top off, and it was loaded up with shredded newspaper for her to lay in. I used to sit and talk to her, urging her to live, to fight; and she would lay there looking at me with those big brown eyes. We also had to tube feed her for weeks.

Say NO to Elephant-RIDING, say NO to using elephants for human entertainment in Circuises or Tourisms . . .

Elephants that ”work” in Thailand and other tourist destinations have to go through a ritual called phajaan, or “crush”. It begins with the baby elephants (usually three to four years old) being taken from their mothers and placed in a small, wooden pen. To get them securely in the pen, these babies are beaten with bamboo, sticks with nails attached to the tip and bull hooks. Once in place, the crush lasts for roughly a week. During this time, they are beaten, bludgeoned, have hooks attached to their sensitive ears, and are deprived of food and water as well as sleep, all in the name of breaking ties with their mothers and becoming domesticated. While in the crush, through the infliction of pain, they learn how to accept riders, do circus tricks and paint. This is designed to break the animal’s spirit which it certainly achieves, often taking its sanity too.

Yes I do wonder why some people are born rich and in the other some are born poor. To me it’s the reincarnation , whatever we are born and the suffering are cause by our previous actions. Reincarnation is the religious concept that the soul or spirit, after biological death, can begin a new life in a new body. Interest video to watch regarding a short sharing of reincarnation. I do definitely believe from what I see and read . The actions of a person lead to a new existence after death, in endless cycles called saṃsara. I did read in books how most children start talking about a previous life around the time they begin to talk . By the time they’re a teenager, they might deny ever having remembered a past life. As for me I don’nt remember my past life at all.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

True enough life is short, we will all die somedays. The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will benefits others and lives meaningfully. That it will never come again is what makes life so sweet. Live our life, learning Dharma , practice Dharma, is the best choice. Change our thoughts , transform our mind and we change our world. Those who realize their folly are not true fools. Life is too important to be taken seriously. Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards. It always seems impossible until it’s done. Death is more universal than life, everyone dies . The life of the dead is placed in the memory of the living.
Thank you Rinpoche for this wisdom sharing.

The act of making offerings to the Sangha is a fantastic way for us to collect merits and a great way to practice generosity, as taught by the Lord Buddha himself. On a personal level, I intend to practice the art of giving until my last breath; I also wish very much to live the life of a simple monk, meditating in a cave in the forest, with as few possessions as possible. Thus, I try to give most of what I receive away, and keep as little as possible for myself.

So… when my students visited the monasteries in India at the end of 2014, I grabbed the opportunity to make some offerings to the monks there; some of them were friends that I’ve known for a long time but have not met for decades. I miss all of them very much and I am so happy that my students arranged to meet them and make the offerings on my behalf.

All that being said, I am very, very happy to be able to bring you these images of Dorje Shugden from all the different traditions. If the Gelug, Nyingma, Sakya and Kagyu great masters and practitioners of the past saw huge benefits in relying on Dorje Shugden, so much so that they included him in such a wide range of paintings and images, it stands to reason that practitioners of today will also benefit from relying on Dorje Shugden too. Because it is not one, two or even five paintings that we are looking at, but over 40! And my guess is, there are many, many more that exist out there in the world that we just don’t know about yet.

In reality, whatever we want to pray to or rely on is entirely our personal choice and a private matter, and no one should be able to tell us what we can and cannot pray to. Certainly no one has the right to impose sanctions upon us for the spiritual choices that we make. So putting current politics and issues aside, I hope that you will also be able to appreciate the artistic merit and talent that stands behind Tibetan art which is spiritual, ancient and beautiful, and done with purpose and meaning. Please download these beautiful ancient paintings for your shrine or to share with others.

Duldzin Drakpa Gyaltsen is perhaps one of the more notable previous lives of Dorje Shugden. In this incarnation, he is said to have made the promise to arise as a Dharma Protector to protect the precious teachings of his teacher Lama Tsongkhapa, thus laying the foundation for Dorje Shugden to manifest later, in another incarnation.

Duldzin, which is an abbreviation of Dulwa Zinpa, literally means “Vinaya Holder” in Tibetan. This is actually a title bestowed upon him in recognition of his pure monkhood and incredible knowledge and understanding of the Vinaya texts — scriptures that contain teachings by Lord Buddha on monastic discipline.

Prayer wheels, a common part of Tibetan Buddhist paraphernalia, are often underrated by those new to Buddhism. Tibetans, however, believe that spinning prayer wheels (the bigger the better) is a powerful way of generating tremendous amounts of merit necessary for spiritual awakening and that installing prayer wheels in a place is an immensely effective way to transform the environment.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

I care about these two doggies of mine very much and I enjoy seeing them happy. They are with me always. Tsem Rinpoche Always be kind to animals and eat vegetarian- https://bit.ly/2Psp8h2

Find one of the most beautiful temples in the world in Nara, Japan. It is the 1,267 year old Todai-ji temple that houses a 15 meter Buddha Vairocana statue who is a cosmic and timeless Buddha. Emperor Shomu who sponsored this beautiful temple eventually abdicated and ordained as a Buddhist monk. Very interesting history and story. 2 yearss ago
What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer
