Invitation of the Holy Relics of Kyabje Lati Rinpoche to Kechara House
Jun 2, 2010 | Views: 395
Two days before Wesak Day, the President of Kechara, Datuk May Phng had the great honour to escort the relic of Kyabje Lati Rinpoche from Tsem Ladrang to Kechara House gompa. It be permanently on display for devotees to pay homage, make offerings, make wishes and collect merit. Great object to take vows in front of also. Or renew vows.
I pray for the swift reincarnation of Kyabje Lati Rinpoche very soon to manifest as a perfect dharma teacher once again.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing these precious pictures. It is really very nice to be able to read them through as I was not there.
I believe that relics of high lama are powerful, as these high lamas keep their vows pure and are constantly in practices and retreats for dharma.
To have these relics is as if having them physically close to us.
It is reality slapping on my face again. Death is real and inevitable. I can leave this realm anytime, anywhere. After I die, where do I go? With so much attachments and living my life in ignorance of how karma works, I’d most likely be reborn in the 3 lower realms.
So what’s life about? Will my pursuits in life lead me anywhere during death?
A great being like Kyabje Lati Rinpoche, who’s spent his entire life benefiting others by teaching the dharma passed away in full control. Even Rinpoche’s relics bless us when we make prayers near them. To exist in this manner makes it worthwhile to live in samsara.
I have heard about how great holy relics are but I have never witnessed the invitation ceremony of one.
Ladrang received some holy relics of the late Kyabje Lati Rinpoche from the monastery and had enshrined them in beautiful stupa to be placed in Kechara House for members and friends to pay homage, make offerings, wishes and collect merit.
The invitation process is similar to the protocol of inviting a high lama and it was very grand, complete with victory umbrella. Jutika and Erica, 2 members of Manjushri Kids Class even learnt how to blow the conch shell as sound offering! They were so cute!
We prostrate with our body, speech and mind to Lati Rinpoche, who is one with Heruka. May His Eminence incarnation return soon to continue to turn the wheel of dharma to benefit many in the world!
I witnessed the enthronement of Kyabje Lati Rinpoche’s relics in Kechara House. I was very lucky to be in KH1 at the time when the relics were brought by Datuk May. So I joined the others also in paying homage to our guru’s guru. Lati Rinpoche has a very special place in my heart because it was he who asked Tsem Rinpoche to come to Malaysia. If not for him, we would not have Tsem Rinpoche, and Kechara House and our lives would not have been changed. Rinpoche told us that relics can bless people. I remember visiting the great relic exhibition organised by FPMT in 2005 at the Tien Hou temple in Kuala Lumpur. It was the first time I came into contact with Tibetan Buddhism. I went for blessings with my family and the monk put a stupa containing Buddha Shakyamuni’s relics on my head. It was an emotional moment and I think it opened up something in me.
Kyabje Lati Rinpoche is beyond a doubt a enlightened Being due to his ability to control his death. He was in death meditation and passed away in perfect control. This is just simply amazing because these Lamas have such high attainments and what is even more amazing, Gaden monastery have been prolifically producing masters of such calibre for centuries.
Therefore, we have much to thank for and should have much faith in our Lama, who is the heir of an illustrious spiritual institution and tradition. We should therefore join forces with our Lama to make his institution KWPC a reality. In order to do so, we have to start now and we have to learn about who Rinpoche is all about and get involved in the departments. There is so much to do!
Thank you Irene for your sharing on how holy relics of the great beings function to bless others even after they have passed on.
Kecharians are infinitely grateful to Lati Rinpoche for sending Tsem Rinpoche here in Malaysia to spread the unbroken lineage of Lama Tsongkhapa’s teachings.
We had heard many stories from Rinpoche of his time with Lati Rinpoche . The stories are great teachings on all the positive qualities that these erudite masters have relentlessly practiced throughout their lives.
May bodhi seeds be planted in the mindstreams of those who pay homage to Kyabje Lati Rinpoche’s relics.
May KWPC manifest to repay Lati Rinpoche’s kindness to Malaysians.
It is said that holy relics can bring about world peace through changing the minds of people. Holy relics creates devotion and faith. As His Holiness the Dalai Lama says, ‘outer peace is achieved through inner peace.’ Hence relics is extremely important to create world peace. It is mainly for this reason why Buddha and enlightened beings left relics. Relics are venerated in many temples and monasteries around the world.
Relics from Kyabje Lati Rinpoche is extraordinary rare and precious. Kyabje Lati Rinpoche was a grand master of Gaden Monastery who have devoted his whole life to spiritual practices that are dedicated to sentient beings. Every part of his body carries positive energy to inspire goodness and reduce negativity.
Terima Kasih Rinpoche!
It is indeed great to have this honour of enthroning and enshrining the late Lati Rinpoche’s precious relics and now He resides as a testament and proof that Rinpoche’s kindness and patience with Malaysians was meant to be and manifested in all of Kechara!
Each time I offer a khata or bow to Lati Rinpoche, it is in thanksgiving that Rinpoche and Kechara has manifested in Malaysia and it is time that I in turn manifest that same kindness and patience to all.
May His Eminence return back riding on His Vows!
Sadhu!Sadhu!Sadhu!
I scrolled along this post with other posts on the page and saw the photo of flowers laid out on the floor and immediately thought ‘Hm, this must be a post talking about inviting a Rinpoche into Kechara House for a talk! After reading other posts which I personally find more interesting (I have this habit of looking at things that I get attracted to first..a bit like going to the junk food section in a grocery store before anything else!!), I scrolled up again to read up on what the post was about….I saw a stupa!
I’m humbled by how Kyabje Lati Rinpoche’s holy relics are treated with such respect by the people in Kechara House. Just like how we were brought up to not sit on textboks as it symbolizes us not respecting the knowledge that it imparts, the level of respect that we should show towards a holy relic of one of the “greatest living Buddhist treasures left in this century” (as extracted from http://blog.tsemtulku.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/2010/04/his-eminence-kyabje-lati-rinpoche-enters-clear-light.html) should proportionally increase. WHY. Because Kyabje Lati Rinpoche was someone who was basically a walking Buddhist encyclopaedia who spread the Dharma in Europe and America..benefiting thousands in the world.
It is because of Lati Rinpoche that Tsem Tulku Rinpoche is residing in Malaysia today. It is because of Lati Rinpoche that Kechara House is in Malaysia today. It is also because of Lati Rinpoche that other future things that Kechara House will do will benefit the thousands of Malaysians.
As how Tsem Tulku Rinpoche says regarding Lati Rinpoche’s rebirth, “We do not need to worry that he will take rebirth in order to benefit others, but we must make the causes to sit at his feet again.”, even if I don’t have the merits to sit at the feet of Lati Rinpoche, I would feel just as blessed to be able to sit back at the feet of one of his disciples 🙂

Thanks you for the incredible tales of Ji Gong, I truly enjoyed knowing the actual monk in picture. Ji Gong symbolised hope and kindness of dharma to the poor and underprivileged, the spirit of Ji Gong will continue to survive through time because nothing could destroy that.
I had fascinated watching a number of movies that had related Ji Gong kindness, compassion and his skillful actions that had such a large influence in the world and that until today.
Thank you Rinpoche for showing me the beauty of Buddhism which had me changed to be a better person. Learning and practicing this beautiful Tibetan Buddhism is simply amazing for me. Even though I started late yet no regrets and had not stop , going all the way learning bit by bit , more and more knowledge reading most of the blogs. There is always a reason behind it . With folded hands thanks again for bringing Dharma to us. Buddhism is such a wonderful religion indeed. Nor matter what i will never give up.
Dorje Shugden was one of their main protector practices and considered an emanation of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. There has been an unbroken tradition of the practice of Dorje Shugden as an enlightened protector since early 1700 till now. We are fortunate we learn, practice of purifying, pacifying and removing obstacles and illnesses. All thanks to our Lama Tsem Rinpoche, bringing the practice to Malaysia. Dorje Shugden had been propitiated by Sakya lineage 18th centuries ago. Dorje Shugden has been viewed as an Enlightened Protector. Evidence from the Sakya throne holders themselves, who are the holders of the Sakya tradition’s most precious Tantric transmission.
comes from none other than the Sakya throne holders themselves, who are the holders of the Sakya tradition’s most precious Tantric transmission. The Sakya lineage holders are considered to be emanations of Avalokiteshvara and Manjushri, and their family lineage is regarded as divine. They had propitiated Dorje Shugden as a fully enlightened being and composed a praise to him. This prayer has since achieved prominence and is still widely used today.
Thank you Rinpoche and Pastor David for this sharing as it is marvelous to read that the supreme Dharmapala, Dorje Shugden is none sectarian. As confirmed by the 39th Sakya Trizin Dragshul Trinley Rinchen (1871 – 1935) who wrote,
The Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden Tsel definitively is Avalokiteshvara.
Beautiful White Tara paintings by a very talented artist indeed . Love those paintings , merely looking at it is a blessing. Each of those paintings has it unique way which tells us a thousand words. White Tara is associated with maternal compassion and healing. In many representations, she has eyes in the palms of her hands and on the soles of her feet, as well as in the center of her forehead, representing her power to see those who are suffering and offer her aid.
Thank you Rinpoche for this wonderful sharing and explaining all about it for us to understand better.
It is quite sad to know the condition of our Earth. Pollution essentially affects the quality of human life than one can imagine. The resources earth provides us are limited. They are blessings which we do not count.
All these are mainly caused by human activities which harm the environment. It works in mysterious ways, sometimes which cannot be seen by the naked eye. Human has become selfish and is utilizing the earth’s resources at a instant rapid rate to enjoy privileges however forgotten on the effect of it in long run.
Earth is a privilege given to us by nature and it’s our responsibility to protect it . Our well
being solely depends on this. We should create awareness and start taking action to help our mother nature instead of looking for another earth. However, this is soon going to be our reality if we do not save the earth now.
Thank you for the unique interior design of Tao Restaurant in New York. I am very much fascinated to see the huge Buddha statue in this restaurant.
The design idea is as such that able to bring versatile atmosphere to life. It also has a significant influence on customer experience because it includes planning the layout of the restaurant.
Looking at the design itself very much suit to a Vegetarian Restaurant.
Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche, also known as Chetul Sangye Dorje, is one of the few living disciples of the great master Khenpo Ngagchung . A great renowned realised Dzogchen yogis Master known for his great realization and strict disciplines. He lives a life as a wandering yogi meditating alone in caves for many years ,ceaselessly working to overturn samsara for all sentient beings. During his life Chatral Rinpoche was one of the most vocal opponents of meat eating in Tibetan Buddhism. He releases large amounts of fish from the Calcutta fish markets every year.Chatral Rinpoche even composed a song about this practise of saving lives. His amazing story and teachings had indeed inspired many especially the westerners. Interesting read.
Thank you Rinpoche.

Revisit this incredible sharing of the history of Bhutan and the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. Bhutan a beautiful landlocked country have been long connected with Dorje Shugden ever since the days of 4th Zhabdrung Rinpoche Jetsun Jigme Norbu long and established tradition in Bhutan. Bhutan recognizes Buddhism as the state’s “spiritual heritage,” provides for freedom of religion, and bans discrimination based on religious belief. Buddhism was first introduced to Bhutan in the 7th century by Guru Padmasambhava. The Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal is considered to be the founder of modern day Bhutan. Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal was notable Drukpa Kagyu masters of this nation advocated the practice of the enlightened Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. These goes back to the time of the 3rd Drubwang Tenzin Zangpo from the incarnation lineage where he had authored part of an early propitiation text to Dorje Shugden. Followed by the 4th Zhabdrung Jigme Norbu, from the reincarnation lineage of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, also included extensive prayers to Dorje Shugden in his collected works. Interesting findings the Gyalwang Drukpas are considered to be emanations of Chenrezig, the Buddha of Compassion. All liturgies to Dorje Shugden can be found in the collected works of prominent high lamas whose incarnation lineages are deeply linked with the very fabric of Bhutan’s history. The 4th Zhabdrung Rinpoche Jetsun Jigme Norbu is highly attained and cannot be wrong about Dorje Shugden. The 4th Zhabdrung Jigme Norbu’s autobiography tells all.
Thank you Rinpoche for this great sharing. May more and more people know the truth the very truth and realised that Dorje Shugden is not evil but a very powerful dharma protector. The practice of Dorje Shugden is indeed very beneficial which had been practiced centuries ago.
Great reading this post by Martin Desai of Huffington Post that brought out the truth of the illegal ban to the world. Huffpost an American news aggregator and blog, with localized and international editions, publishing a fair and logical article on the religious discrimination issue. It’s the Dorje Shugden controversy that’s have been going on along long time ago. For over more than 20 years Dorje Shugden people had been suffering from discrimination and segregation for their practice. Thank you Martin Desai for high lighting this injustice issue and sharing it is to the world. Thank you Huffington Post for publishing. Those who practice Dorje Shugden are being denied of service from hospitals and clinics. Some even are not allowed to work in government sectors. There’s more proof to support that it has happened like checking into hotel as in this post . Reading this article will tell all.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
Prof. Lokesh Chandra is a well known scholar of the Vedic period, Buddhism and the Indian arts. Amazingly he has he published 576 books and 286 articles just between 1942 and 2004. He has also held many official government positions as well. Wow he has travelled widely all over Europe, Asia and Russia. He has studied many multi languages as such English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Bengali, Pali, Old Persian, Japanese, Chinese, Tibetan, Malayalam, Mongolian, Indonesian, Greek, Latin, German, French, Tamil, Old Javanese, Russian, Avesta, and even Old Persian. Truly genius talented scholar of all time.
Thank you Rinpoche and Joy for this sharing.
GREAT NEWS…..Jewish priests are promoting vegetarianism to their followers . Most modern-day Jews are not vegetarian. Following a vegetarian diet are varied but include health benefits, such as reducing life threading diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and some cancers disease. Vegetarians appear to have lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure and lower rates of hypertension and type 2 diabetes . That’s very true. By not eating meat one helps to discourage the cruel treatment of animals such as cows, pigs, chickens, and other animals on factory farms for consumption. One also helps to improve the environment, insofar as factory farms are major sources of water and air pollution, including gasses that contribute to global warming. By not eating meat one helps oneself, since a vegetarian diet is far healthier for humans than a diet based on meat. Jewish Vegetarian Society and others did the right approach to values of compassion for animals, protection of the environment, and concern for health reasons and spiritual well-being.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing on behalf of those animals who cannot speak for themselves.
John Shelby Spong an American bishop of the Episcopal Church. A liberal Christian theologian, religion commentator, and author, spoke bravely of what he thought of the Christian belief away from theism and traditional doctrines. To some Christians, Bishop John Shelby Spong was a heretic. Entrusted with defending the faith, he dismissed notions of the resurrection of Jesus that have been foundations of Christianity for centuries. Bishop Spong came to believe that insistence on an inerrant, literal view of the Bible obscures truth and destroys faith. He was an outspoken leader who believed that faith and worship should be open to marginalised groups. He sermonize a powerful message of love and justice that would resonate in an increasingly secular age. He gain international fame while writing more than two dozen books, appearing on TV shows as well. He was the recipient of three honorary awards to date before his passing. Interesting read .
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this inspiring article.
Thank you for sharing the wonderful experience of making the wealth vase and the wealth box. A Wealth Box represents the divine abode of the wealth deities.
It is quite a task to complete this as it requires a lot of effort and energy to input into the various collection of materials to complete the wealth vase and the wealth box.
I had a lot information about this beneficial ritual which generates the energy to acquire resources for the proliferation of Dharma.
Very exciting news! H E kyabje Dagom Rinpoche’s incarnation is back. This young incarnation pay a visit to Trode Khangsar Chapel and makes offerings of gold to Djorje Shugden. This 350-year-old Trode Khangsar chapel was built and dedicated to Dorje Shugden the Powerful Dharma Protector. Offering gold to sacred images is a very traditional Tibetan method of paying homage to holy images. Kyabje Dagom Rinpoche’s previous lives were great masters, scholars and practitioners of Dorje Shugden. He held on strongly to his faith, devotion and respect for the Dorje Shugden. It is indeed inspiring to read and know that great masters are coming back. It brings so much hope and deepens faith that these Tulkus are back, life after life. As claimed by the Tibetan leadership that anyone practicing Dorje Shugden one will take rebirth into the lower realms. That’s wrongly says . Interesting post.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.
Interesting read even not so scary afterall. But someone who have not experience before seeing a dark swirling ‘entity’ that was not exactly the shape of human will be frozen to death. Not for me as I do have Ds pendant with me and chanting Mantras helps me. Most hotels do have special unwanted guests . I did experienced this before while staying in old hotels .
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Dear everyone... This is a good condensed talk I gave on Guru Yoga of Tsongkapa. This is the one you should share with others when they are interested in a not too lengthy explanation. It is the perfect practice for everyone who wants simplicity yet effective blessings. You can share this with more people, it will be good.
"If you say you don't have money to help a animal shelter, why then do you have money to buy meat?"

"Eating animals is not our God-given right, but being kind to them is."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"What makes us good humans is not how we abuse animals, but how much we allow them to live and be happy freely."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"We need another and wiser and perhaps a more mythical concept of animals.... We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err. For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complex than ours they moved finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth."
~ Henry Beston, The Outermost House
"Not eating animals is only unnatural when we are not used to it."

SPIRITUAL QUOTES

~ Tsem Rinpoche
“If one does the recitation of the Lama Tsongkhapa guru yoga prayer for even one month using one of the visualizations for great or clear or quick wisdom, one will definitely see development of that wisdom. It is proved by experience. There is no doubt that by doing the Lama Tsongkhapa guru yoga practice one can meet Lama Tsongkhapa’s teachings from life to life. And furthermore, it gives one the opportunity to be born in the pure realm of Lama Tsongkhapa, Tushita, whenever death happens.”
~ Pabongkha Rinpoche
"I was 18 years old in 1983. That was a very special year as I met His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and received innumerable precious teachings and empowerments from Him at Thubten Dhargye Ling Centre in Los Angeles, California. It was the best time of my life. A time that seems so magical and surreal to me. Kyabje Zong Rinpoche is Heruka Buddha and I met Heruka."

"Whether we do work and suffer but for others or we do work and suffer for ourselves, either way we have to suffer. That is the nature of samsara. So let us suffer for others and then suffering has meaning."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"Those who really want the dharma to grow within themselves and to grow for others should never fear hard work, timing, difficulties, struggles, disappointments because it is for a good cause. Working for Dharma is not a prison or work, but it is purely spiritual practice. It is purely collection of merit and purification. Actually not doing dharma work is the real prison."
~ Tsem Rinpoche
"His Holiness Zong Rinpoche stressed the need to continue to practice even when we come up against obstacles, and that we should continually review our progress. He stated that a happy, luxurious life was like a good dream, and that obstacles and difficulties were like a bad dream. We should give them no significance, but simply carry on working towards real, everlasting happiness."

"You know since very young, for better or worse, I always did the things that others told me not to do. I wasn't really good at following the rules. Devotional Songs
Sung by Mary Fewel Tulin, these mystical songs in praise of the guru originate from the Sikh tradition. Yet, they are applicable to all traditions for those who want to venerate their guru.
The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them.
That's the business model.
How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying...
We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood.

Tyler asked:If a lama gives me refuge, is he my guru?pastor answered:Dear Tyler,
Thank you for your question. Yes, if a lama has given you refuge then he is considered to be your guru. You may have other gurus also. However, the lama that gave you refuge is definitely your guru.
It would be good to learn the Refuge Vows and Commitments if you have already taken refuge and keep these as strongly as possible. When we train ourselves in taking refuge properly and keeping our vows and commitments, this is the basis for all other Buddhist practices including the higher teachings. Without a very firm grounding in refuge, high practices will not be effective in transforming our minds.
Here is an excerpt from the Lamrim text we use: https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/taking-refuge-by-je-pabongka.html It discusses a little bit about taking refuge. In order to have a thorough understanding of refuge, you should read the section about taking refuge in the Lamrim text known as Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand. I hope this helps. Thank you.
