Dear TenRon,
Please go to H.E. Tsem Rinpoche’s post named “Medecine Buddha Practice” in the section on “Prayers and Sadhanas”. You will find instructions on the altar set-up, the sadhana as well as advice on avoiding the black foods. It is not important which direction the altar faces as long as it is in a clean area. Place a scriptural text on the right side of the statue and a stupa on its left. In front of the statue, you can place the offerings. It is good to have the statue filled with mantras and other holy items and have it blessed before you place it on the altar. For mantra insertion you can go to Kechara Saraswati Arts in SunwayMas Commercial Centre, Petaling Jaya. For blessing, you may bring the statue to our Medicine Buddha puja which is conducted on Wednesdays 8pm at Kechara House, also in SunwayMas Commercial Centre. Or you can request for a puja to be done at your house. Our puja team will help you set up the altar.
