Question asked by Xavier Paolo Josh Ledesma Mandreza
How can I effectively practice the Dharma if I live very far away from a Dharma Centre? I'm from the Philippines, as you know is a predominantly Roman Catholic Country and Buddhism is mainly centralized within the Filipino-Chinese Community which is not really so welcoming to native Filipinos like me but very Dedicated to the Dharma to Help myself and others? Thank you so much for your Help! __//\\__
Dear Xavier,
Distance shouldn’t be a problem if you have the correct motivation. Find out the nearest Dharma centres near your house and contact them through the internet. These days, Dharma centres are very organised and one can even receive teachings online. H.E. Tsem Rinpoche has many foreign students who follow Rinpoche’s teachings through the blog/website and they visit Kechara House now and then. Guru devotion is something that is not hindered by physical distance. I hope you find your spiritual guide soon.
