Question asked by Anxious wife
Dear Pastors,
Recently my husband has been having various panic attacks and trips to the doctor did not seem to help. Out of desperation, my husband sought a sifu's help and we were told that one of my husband's ancestors has been looking for my husband for 100 odd years to take revenge. From what we could understand, my husband may have wronged him in his past life and he has probably been reborn as his descendant. The sifu had managed to 'send it away'. We would like to offer prayers to that ancestor for any wrongdoings that my husband had inflicted on him in his previous life and hope he would be reincarnated again. As we just started out to take interest in Buddhism, would there be any prayers that we can offer or the 'Om Mani Padme Hung' mantra would be sufficient?

Dear Anxious wife,
As we have had countless lives before this present one, it is only logical that we must have done a lot of good as well as bad deeds, made friends as well as enemies. All this is due to our ignorance or lack of Dharma knowledge. Doing prayers and dedicating the merits to our ancestors would benefit them very much and would be a cause for them to have good rebirths. In Kechara House, we will be having the Ullambana Setrap Puja on 20th August. Do come and join the prayers if you can. On your own, you can recite OM Mani Peme Hung everyday and dedicate it to the ancestor.
