Question asked by Andrea
Dear Pastors,
My father passed on about three weeks ago and being very green in Buddhism, I have no idea what to do. Well-meaning friends and relatives have advised us on various rites and chants to perform during the 49 days after his passing.
Can you please advise on what is the best prayers/chants for me to perform to ensure an easy passage in the afterlife for my late father?
Thank you.
Dear Andrea,
I’m sorry to learn about your loss. It would be good if you could chant Kuan Yin’s mantra OM MANI PEME HUNG as many times as you can daily during the 49 days and dedicate the merits to your father. You can also order a Medicine Buddha puja to be done for his good and swift rebirth every week or as many times as possible through Kechara House’s Shapten Khang. Please contact the Front Desk of Kechara House for further information. If you are in another state or overseas, you can contact http://www.vajrasecrets.com. for more details.
