Question asked by Tashi
Can one obtain siddhis through the recitation of mantra? Like a protector mantra? In particular , there are two mantra's of DS that can assist in this, though I'm uncertain what he would bestow. I would assume since he is the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri, it would only something that would benefit the practioner….secondly if per say a siddhi is granted, would that carry over to future lifetimes?
Dear Tashi,
Yes, siddhis can be attained through the recitation of mantra. One should engage in mantra recitation single-pointedly and siddhis can arise. You can gain siddhis from any of Dorje Shugden mantras, but you should concentrate on one mantra specifically during your mantra recitations.
As siddhis or attainments arise from the mind within Buddhist practices, then yes, these siddhis can carry over into future lifetimes.
