Introduction to the Buddhist Healing Arts

Normal medical healing focuses on the body more than the mind. What we have to do is remove the actual cause of the physical sickness, which in Buddhism all stems from the mind...

The Farm of Your Mind | 你的“心田”

(译文请往下看) Kechara is very fortunate to have H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche as our Spiritual Advisor and Dorje Shugden as our Dharma Protector. Understanding how fortunate we are to have connected with a supreme and qualified teacher in this life, we should therefore put as much effort as we can towards keeping a good relationship and good samaya with our Guru. The advice below was recently given to the Kechara Forest Retreat team by the Protector Dorje Shugden. As Dorje Shugden is an enlightened Buddha, all the advice he gives is none other than th...

Understanding Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

Do you know anyone who is constantly engaged in excessive, unreasonable and repetitive behaviour such as cleaning, hand-washing, or rearranging? If you do, that person is most likely suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). OCD is characterised by irrational fear or obsession that triggers repetitive actions. Many people suffering from OCD are aware that...

Why some don’t think of the long term damage

Why some don’t think of the long term damage

Dear friends, It is helpful to understand the various types of minds and how people think. There are people who are ‘wired’ differently than ourselves and they can look for short term results and immediate gratification instead of long term benefit. In fact they consistently get themselves into trouble and difficulties because they always...

Who Am I and Who Are We?

Mar 29, 2017
Who Am I and Who Are We?

Recently I heard my daughter, Li Kheng, in conversation with her friend at lunch: “There is a bright side and a dark side to our personality.” That statement shifted my thoughts to what I said years ago after completing an adult experiential training class: “Mastery of Life is our control over the duality of...

Karma and the Law of Attraction

Karma and the Law of Attraction

(By Tsem Rinpoche and Herman Rodrigues) Most people understand Karma in its most basic definition: You get what you give. We hear a lot of catch phrases by people who say, “What goes around, comes around”, and so on. Most people believe that karma comes from the fact that our actions alone cause our...

I can’t believe I found this

Dear friends, This is truly an interesting read. I will not explain too much but I will let you contemplate deeper. I would highly recommend for you to contemplate deeper and do more research. It does open our minds so much more understanding these ten thoughts. Theories 2, 4 and 7 really attract me. What...

Everything can be repaired | 一切都可以修复

(译文请往下阅读) (By Tsem Rinpoche) Breaking samaya to the guru is very serious setback for our spiritual practice, for the growth of our mind and in general our overall peace. As the days pass by it will seem like nothing is happening, but we will see our attachments grow, anger grows and our distance to the dharma grows. We will be happy to engage in deeds that have no ultimate meaning and justify it and feel comfortable. We will fall back to the ways of how we were before meeting the dharma and feel comfortable. We will scourge our teachers and pra...

Discovering Yourself: A Teaching on Karma & Mindstream

Discovering Yourself: A Teaching on Karma & Mindstream

Dec 29, 2012 (By Tsem Rinpoche) Sometimes dharma talks may touch something sensitive or deep within us, but do not be stuck on the superficial meanings and changes required, but think deeper. Dharma is not something to fear or to judge yourself by but for inner contemplations. To help you to have knowledge to...

You and Your Imprints…How To Break Bad Habituations

Jul 4, 2012 (By Tsem Rinpoche) Early in June, I decided to do a surprise visit and share some Dharma with the students who took their time away to engage in Lamrim recitation, part of the pujas to be completed before the renovation of our new Kechara House gompa begins. You can look at...

Some Thoughts on Depression

Some Thoughts on Depression

Neuro chemical imbalance arises from the body. The type of body arises from karma. What body and all the problems with it and inherited diseases and imbalances are all from karma not illusionary thinking. What body we are going to take birth in is 100% due to karmic imprints/instincts/residuals. How can some phenomena...

To understand projections better

This is profound and the secrets to our success or failure. ~Tsem Rinpoche    When the chips are down and some condemn so easily, it shows who they are. ~Tsem Rinpoche     When projections are seen as sound coming from nowhere and dissipating to nowhere, we will progress. ~Tsem Rinpoche    My projections is...

Do you want to know why you make mistakes?

This is a powerful picture… and it is the source of strength because if we just follow it, we will be different… I like quotes that make us think deeper, fight our own mind and gives us strength that comes from within. A strength that comes from knowing we are our own authors of...

UPCOMING TOPICS FOR APRIL / 四月份讨论主题

Please come and join in the chat for a fun time and support. See you all there.

Blog Chat Etiquette

These are some simple guidelines to make the blog chat room a positive, enjoyable and enlightening experience for everyone. Please note that as this is a chat room, we chat! Do not flood the chat room, or post without interacting with others.

EXPAND
Be friendly

Remember that these are real people you are chatting with. They may have different opinions to you and come from different cultures. Treat them as you would face to face, and respect their opinions, and they will treat you the same.

Be Patient

Give the room a chance to answer you. Patience is a virtue. And if after awhile, people don't respond, perhaps they don't know the answer or they did not see your question. Do ask again or address someone directly. Do not be offended if people do not or are unable to respond to you.

Be Relevant

This is the blog of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. Please respect this space. We request that all participants here are respectful of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche and his organisation, Kechara.

Be polite

Avoid the use of language or attitudes which may be offensive to others. If someone is disrespectful to you, ignore them instead of arguing with them.

Please be advised that anyone who contravenes these guidelines may be banned from the chatroom. Banning is at the complete discretion of the administrator of this blog. Should anyone wish to make an appeal or complaint about the behaviour of someone in the chatroom, please copy paste the relevant chat in an email to us at care@kechara.com and state the date and time of the respective conversation.

Please let this be a conducive space for discussions, both light and profound.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
