Question asked by Irene Nelson
Hello. I am beginning a journey of transformation and I need guidance. What books would you suggest for a beginner? I have been watching and listening to your videos on YouTube, which I have found to be informative. I have a lot of unlearning and relearning to do. I am stuck and need to find a better way of training my mind for a more positive life. Several years ago, I had met Tulku Yeshi Rinpoche in Homer, Alaska. I listened to his wonderful lesson on the 4 Noble Truths. I want to learn more but being here in Alaska…I truly don’t know where to start. If there are suggestions you could offer, I would be grateful. Thank you
Dear Irene Nelson,
Thank you for your question. I’m so glad to read that you want to know more about Buddhist practice. There is an article here: https://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/books-that-are-a-must-read.html that might be interesting for you.
There are two lists of books in the article. The first is for beginners, and the second is for those who already have some grounding in Buddhist practice. These books were recommended by His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche and are very good reads. You can try some of the books on the list, hopefully they will help to deepen your understanding. I hope this helps.
