The world’s largest Dorje Shugden shrine is located in Wisdom Hall, Kechara Forest Retreat which is one hour away from Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia

Dear friends from around the world,

Here at the beautiful Wisdom Hall in Kechara Forest Retreat stands the Enlightened World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden and his complete entourage of 32 assistants. This statue of Dorje Shugden stands at 25 feet (7.3 meters) in height, which makes this image the largest Dorje Shugden statue in the world. Surrounding Dorje Shugden, elevated on the left and right side of the wall is our holy lineage lamas who are closely connected to us.

The lineage lamas are extremely important as they bestow blessings and attainments to sincere practitioners. When we engage in tantric practice according to the liturgy, we have to recite the names of each lineage lama to invoke upon their blessings daily. According to Buddha Vajradhara, practitioners will not be successful in gaining any realisations or attainments from their practice without the root and lineage guru’s blessings. This is why we venerate, pay homage and invoke upon the holy lineage lamas in our prayers to bless us.

Wisdom Hall is Kechara’s chapel to Dorje Shugden and was created as such. From the pictures below, you will see a statue of Buddha Shakyamuni. This statue has been placed here temporarily and will be moved to the main prayer hall, when it has been built at the front of Kechara Forest Retreat land.

Here are some beautiful pictures of Dorje Shugden as well as our lineage lamas from many different angles taken by our talented Pastor Loh Seng Piow which I thought I’d share with everyone so you can rejoice.

Duldzin Drakpa Gyeltsen was one of the eight main disciples of Lama Tsongkhapa, founder of the Gelug lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. His name ‘Duldzin’ is the short form of ‘Dulwa Zinpa’ which translates as ‘Holder of the Vinaya’. This was because he was well known for his strong adherence to the Vinaya, or monastic vows. He made a promise to arise as an uncommon protector of Lama Tsongkhapa’s exposition of Nagarjuna’s Madkhyamika (Middle Way philosophy). In a later incarnation he would arise as Dorje Shugden to fulfil this promise.

Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was a later incarnation of Duldzin Drakpa Gyeltsen. He was a high lama, student of His Holiness the 4th Panchen Lama Panchen Lobsang Chokyi Gyeltsen and a contemporary of His Holiness the 5th Dalai Lama. Reminded of his promise by the worldly Dharma protector Nechung, he fulfilled his earlier promise and arose as Dorje Shugden, at the moment of his passing.

His Holiness the 10th Panchen Lama was a great practitioner of Dorje Shugden from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery and a contemporary of the current 14th Dalai Lama. He composed prayer texts to Dorje Shugden as contained within his Sungbum, or collected works. His line of incarnations stem back to the time of Buddha Shakyamuni and are considered to be emanations of Amitabha.

His Holiness Trijang Rinpoche was the junior tutor of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, and as such he is either directly or indirectly the guru of all the High Lamas within the Gelug lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. His line of incarnations stems back to Chandra, the charioteer of Buddha Shakyamuni. He is known for his composition of the text entitled ‘Music Delighting the Ocean of Protectors’ which details the complete history, practices and rituals of Dorje Shugden.

His Holiness Zong Rinpoche was a student of His Holiness Trijang Rinpoche and a great practitioner of Dorje Shugden. Known for his mastery of Buddhism he was an abbot of Gaden Shartse Monastery in Tibet, he was also the root guru of His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche. He was a great lineage master renowned for his debating ability. It is said that through his skill in debating he could even convince a person that the colour black was white, or the other way around.

Panchen Sonam Drakpa was an illustrious high lama and a previous incarnation of Dorje Shugden. He was also a student of the 2nd Dalai Lama, Gendun Gyatso and the guru of the 3rd Dalai Lama, Sonam Gyatso. He served as Abbot of Gyuto Tantric College, Ganden, Sera and Drepung Monasteries. He also served as the 15th Gaden Throneholder, head of the Gelugpa lineage. No other lama has been able to repeat the same feat. Monks at Drepung Loseling and Gaden Shartse still study his texts books for their Geshe examinations.

His Holiness Tagphu Dorje Chang (a.k.a Tagphu Pemavajra) is a guru of Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche. He is known to have had pure visions of the Buddhas and the ability to astral-travel to pure lands like Tushita. As requested by Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche, Tagphu Dorje Chang ascended to Tushita and acquired the life-entrustment initiation and teachings of Dorje Shugden from Lama Tsongkhapa and Duldzin Drakpa Gyeltsen. He descended and passed the initiation and teachings to Kyabje Pabongka Rinpoche, who proliferated the practice.

His Holiness Pabongka Rinpoche was one of the most influential Gelug lamas of the 20th Century. He taught extensively on the Lamrim – stages on the path to enlightenment teachings. He was also known for proliferating the Vajrayogini and Dorje Shugden practices as well. In fact, he wrote a whole new Vajrayogini sadhana by combining elements from the Sakya and Gelug traditions and also compiled a Dorje Shugden fulfillment text called ‘Melodious Drum Victorious In All Directions’.

Kensur Jampa Yeshe Rinpoche was an erudite scholar and master who was awarded the Lharampa Geshe degree (equivalent to a PhD degree in Buddhist studies) in the presence of the Dalai Lama and many other high lamas and Geshes. He was then appointed the Abbot of Gaden Shartse Monastery for a period of seven years. His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche met this lama and served as his attendant before receiving his formal recognition as a Rinpoche. He had a well-respected reputation for being a selfless bodhisattva.

His Eminence Gangchen Rinpoche is widely believed to be the emanation of the Medicine Buddha and his line of incarnations include the mahasiddha Darikapa. He is well-known for his powerful clairvoyance and unconventional mahasiddha-like behavior. Gangchen Rinpoche was said to have spontaneously recognized Tsem Rinpoche upon meeting him in Nepal, which led to his formal recognition in the monastery. Gangchen Rinpoche has also given much personal advice and teachings to Tsem Rinpoche.

Lama Tsongkhapa’s mantra at Kechara Forest Retreat

Or view the video on the server at:
http://video.tsemtulku.com/videos/LamaTsongkhapaMigtsema.mp4

The video above contains a chant of the Migtsema mantra of Lama Tsongkhapa. The origin of the five-line Migtsema mantra bears testament to Lama Tsongkhapa’s pure guru devotion towards his lama, Rendawa Zhonu Lodro, a Sakya master. The Buddha of Wisdom, Manjushri, first uttered the praise and Lama Tsongkhapa dedicated the verse to his lama. However his lama changed the words around and rededicated it back to Lama Tsongkhapa. This verse of praise became known as the Migtsema mantra.

The Migtsema mantra praises Lama Tsongkhapa as the embodiment of Manjushri, Avalokiteshvara and Vajrapani, who represents transcendent wisdom, compassion and skilful means. The Migtsema mantra contains the embodiment of the body, speech and mind of Lama Tsongkhapa in the form of sound. Therefore, when we recite the Migtsema mantra, the sacred reverberations of the mantra pervade our body and the surrounding area, spreading the blessings of the wisdom, compassion and skilful means of Lama Tsongkhapa.

The Dorje Shugden ban is now 20years old. During this period, Dorje Shugden has been maligned and demonized by a series of smear campaigns designed to destroy the practice and wipe it from the registry of Tibetan Buddhism. But sooner or later whatever is baseless will begin to collapse and increasingly we see signs of that. This comment by ‘Suzy in Hawaii’ is yet another indication that despite all efforts, the anti-Shugden offensive has failed. . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vl-4lIwxph4&t=11s

The purpose of Buddha statues / images is to help practitioners visualize Buddha. Buddha said that to regard images of Buddhas as the living Buddha, to make offerings and prostrations to these images, is akin to making them to actual Buddhas. Images of Buddhas are so blessed that all minds that see them are blessed with potentials in their mind for liberation and enlightenment. Therefore having the 24ft Dorje Shudgen statue in Kechara Forest Retreat is really the sign of His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche’s compassion for everyone who visit this holy retreat to be planted a seed for enlightenment. Dorje Shugden is the emanation of Manjushri and arose as the worldpeace Dharma Protector to Gaden lineage, to protect Nagarjuna’s Middle Way view as elucidated by Lama Tsongkhapa. Thank you Rinpoche and Kecharian for your generosity in building the largest Dorje Shugden statue in world right here in Malaysia. May more and more people be blessed by Him.

Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa, Tibet

Over 400 years ago a great and learned lama Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was famed in Mongolia, Tibet, Nepal and China for being very saintly and compassionate. He resided in his residence (Zimkhang Gongma Ladrang) in Drepung Monastery. His root guru was H.H. the Omniscient 4th Panchen Lama and his close dharma brother was the 5th Dalai Lama.

The 5th Dalai Lama and Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen had a very close and dharmic relationship and often went to receive teachings together from the 4th Panchen Lama. They were close in age. They both became very learned and well known. During this time, the Dalai Lama was enthroned as a Dharma King of Tibet. But more people went to see Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen for teachings, initiations and divinations. This made the attendants of the 5th Dalai Lama feel threatened that Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s fame might usurp the power of the 5th Dalai Lama. So they had a khata forced down his throat. At that moment, Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen dissolved his psychic winds and generated the wish to be a great guardian of Buddha and Tsongkapa’s teachings. As his consciousness dissolved, he entered ‘bardo’ as a dharma protector of the highest order (jikten depey sungma). Many signs were seen throughout Lhasa at this time and the earth was said to have shaken in Lhasa. This event was already predicted to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s previous incarnation when he was one of the 8 main disciples of Lord Tsongkapa the Supreme Master and he served Tsongkapa directly by building Gaden Monastery.

When the 5th Dalai Lama heard what his scheming and power-hungry attendants had done, he was very distressed. He was very sorry Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen was murdered and dishonored as he was a great dharma master. The 5th Dalai Lama composed an apology to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen. In Lhasa, tens of thousands gathered for the cremation of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s holy body. During the cremation, the 5th Dalai Lama’s apology was read out at which flames spontaneously arose from the body of Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen commencing the cremation. From the body, during cremation, a powerful whirlwind of smoke tunneled into the sky for all to see as this was an indication Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen’s consciousness has arisen as the Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden. The Dharma Protector Setrap immediately recognized this new protector Dorje Shugden and ‘enthroned’ him as a powerful Dharma Protector in the realm of the Buddhas. From this, Setrap and Dorje Shugden are closely connected and very close working hand in hand always. After the cremation, the great 5th Dalai Lama built a Dorje Shugden chapel on the spot the cremation took place and named it Trode Khangsar. The 5th Dalai Lama commissioned the statue of Dorje Shugden in this chapel and had monks installed in the chapel to do continuous propitiations to Dorje Shugden. Trode Khangsar Chapel was a commemoration to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who was wronged and also a celebration of his consciousness arising as the World Peace Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

This Trode Khangsar Chapel still exists now in Lhasa where many make pilgrimages there. It is in good condition and was recently renovated. It is over 400 years old and a testimony to the respect the Great 5th Dalai Lama had to Tulku Drakpa Gyeltsen who arose as Dorje Shugden.

I have visited this holy chapel in Lhasa years back. I’ve never heard of it till I was in Lhasa and by chance, I was told about it which I was happy to visit. I could not find the place but strangely a bunch of pilgrims from Amdo told me they would show me how to get there in Lhasa.

This short video is a short clip of this holy Trode Khangsar Chapel in Lhasa today commemorating Dorje Shugden, built by the great 5th Dalai Lama. The great 5th Dalai Lama even composed a prayer to Dorje Shugden which is still available today and we can recite to invoke the blessings, protection, and assistance of World Peace Protector Dorje Shugden.

The 5th Dalai Lama’s Prayer to Dorje Shugden

    HUM
Though unmoving from the sphere of primordial spontaneity,
With wrathful turbulent power, swifter than lightning,
Endowed with heroic courage to judge good and bad,
I invite you with faith, please come to this place!

Robes of a monk, crown adorned with rhinoceros leather hat,
Right hand holds ornate club, left holds a human heart,
Riding various mounts such as nagas and garudas,
Who subdues the mamos of the charnel grounds, praise to you!

Samaya substances, offerings and torma, outer, inner and secret,
Favourite visual offerings and various objects are arranged.
Although, previously, my wishes were a bit dense,
Do not stop your powerful apparitions, I reveal and confess!

Now respectfully praising with body, speech, and mind,
For us, the masters, disciples, benefactors and entourages,
Provide the good and avert the bad!
Bring increase like the waxing moon in spiritual and temporal realms!

    Moreover, swiftly accomplishing all wishes,
According to our prayers, bestow the supreme effortlessly!
And like the jewel that bestows all wishes,
Always protect us with the Three Jewels!

Kechara Forest Retreat is built with a lot of love and dedication to the spread of the Buddhadharma. We, Malaysians, hope that many people around the world will be blessed by the holy Buddha statues and have a conducive place to learn and practice Buddhist teachings. All these were only possible due to the kindness and guidance of our guru, H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche.

We are also very fortunate to house the world’s tallest Dorje Shugden statue. The size of the statue allows us to insert lots of Buddha images, consecrated items and precious holy relics into the statue so that everyone in its presence will be blessed. Those who create the karmic affinity with Dorje Shugden are very fortunate as the protector will protect and guide them towards realizing their spiritual aspirations.

Kechara Forest Retreat which hosts the largest Dorje Shugden shrine will go down in history for this wonderful feat. Many beings have benefited from the growth of Dorje Shugden teachings in this region and around the world. Many MORE will benefit when all the controversies are ironed out as people will flock to this shrine for blessings.
There is more to be done in KFR to spearhead the growth of Dorje Shugden teachings.May all the necessary elements manifests very soon in order for the wheel of Dharma to continue turning to benefit all.

Kechara Forest Retreat, or affectionately known as KFR, is a sanctuary for those who seek peace and a deeper meaning to life. I’m very fortunate to be part of the team creating this sanctuary. I remember when it was all jungle and we built from scratch. It was very challenging as none of us had the experience building in a jungle. We had to learn fast along the way.

With more sponsorship support from others, we shall construct phase 2 with more facilities to support activities that promote general well being of the body and mind and also the spread of Buddhadharma. May more people be benefited and seeds of enlightenment be planted in their mindstream when they enter KFR.

When I first laid eyes on the magnificent Lord Dorje Shugden, I was awed by its size and enthralled by its brilliance. Rinpoche certainly had created so much blessings for us and created deep imprints in to our minds. And with the illustrious and attained Lineage Lamas on the left and right of Lord Dorje Shugden, we certainly are receiving the full authentic blessings as we perform our pujas/prayers. May many more come to have the chance to receive all these blessings and Rinpoche’s wishes for Kechara Forest Retreat manifest fully and swiftly. Thank you Rinpoche _()_

Religion is the results of our practise. We choose a religion due to the blessings that led us on to the right path. The path is filled with Dharma that we apply in order for a complete turnabout of our attitude and the way we see things to happen. This would mean whatever that irks us, will no longer have an effect on us. The beauty of applying the Dharma and treating the Dharma as personal advice for us, help us to clear the irk worms that have been bred out of control before we meet the Dharma. These worms are vicious, vindictive, harmful, envious, arrogant, greedy, furious, ignorant, doubtful, and etc. that are bred by the negative thoughts, experiences and perceptions we had for as long as we live. The mind is so used to them to the point to believe that the (our) reality is pure negative.

When we come to the Dharma, having given the knowledge and guidance by our compassionate and kind Guru who finds ways to help us with our transformation, to constantly give love and care while exposing our irk worms skilfully and creatively, we should be grateful and appreciative the kindness by transforming our mind. We might not like the methods the Guru use, but we can be assured that the motivation behind is of the purest and highest for our ultimate enlightenment. The Guru’s ‘job’ is to help us to liberate us from ourselves – the self that never existed but overwhelmingly coated with irk worms.

When we have the blessings to meet the Dharma that is skillfully presented to us by our Guru, the moment we step into the Guru’s mandala, he or she is already paving the path for irk worms’ exposition in order for us to heal from our delusional mind. It is, therefore, our matter to deal with when we are irked. Instead of spending all energies into defending and justifying, we internalized the Dharma and cooperate with our Guru to cleanse the irk worms from our mind permanently.

Unbelievable facts ……..which I did not know till I read this post except every time you sneeze your heart stops a second and all babies are colour-blind when they are born. I read it from medical journal. Many of those facts are new and first time learning…..to name a few….. the lighter was invented before the match, in space, astronauts cannot cry because there is no gravity and hummingbirds are the only creatures that can fly backwards. Sound unbelievable and amazing.

Interesting…….any thing related to unseen being stories , historical sites and discoveries I always enjoyed reading and to know. Came across this post and I do enjoyed reading. The sea can be a haunted place, too. There have been dozens of ghost ships spotted floating around the sea could not imagined that. Vessel with no living crew aboard with things intact, and it may be a ghostly vessel and scary. Stories about ghost ships, vanishing into thin air or mysterious vessels found sailing the oceans with no one aboard.
The mystery of the Arctic ghost ship Baychimo which abandoned 1914 cargo vessel and drifted for decades found after about 40 years ….really buffed me. All these mysterious ships are fantasized and fearsome . Some of these haunted ships continue to provoke speculation and fearful anticipation even till now.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing these interesting post.

Wow ……beautiful poem by Maching Labdron.
She was believed to be an Mind Stream emanation (tulku) of Yeshe Tsogyal, as well as “an emanation of the ‘Great Mother of Wisdom. She was well thought of as a Tibetan tantric Buddhist practitioner, teacher and yogini. Machig had been an Indian yogi in her previous life. Very inspiring and beautiful filled with wisdom, worthy words to remind us all.

Poor Angel dog chained to the wall ………so inhuman and cruel to let the suffering dog to die in such a manner. Not only that Angie was abandoned in the first place and she was starve to death. Why can’ nt the former owner just leave Angie alone. Sad to see Angie condition, skinny and suffering in pain before dying.
The authority concerned must stop this cruelty from happening and put a heavy fine if caught the culprit who did it. Do not hurt them , care and love them or at least put them in a home. Do hope more will people speak up against animal cruelty and bring awareness around.

Wonderful new …..FBI doing something which many people have not seen before. They are trying stop more serious crime happening by taking action to make animal cruelty an offence. People who cause harm to animals will be prosecuted like homicide, arson and assault . Several FBI studies show that serial killers start their lives as sociopaths by torturing or killing pets and later turns aggressive and violence against people later in life if it goes unchecked.

It is very touching to see birds capable of emotions and feelings that we thought only humans and mammals are capable of. I felt that the mourning is a powerful display of the understanding of loss, which is very rare. I hope the lovebirds will find each other in their next life. Thank you for this sharing.

Like what Rinpoche said …….(There is no right and wrong religion for you to personally follow…) Different religions and faith teachings are all the same having the same aim. To be kind ,helpful, compassion ,not to harm in any way and to do good . Whatever religion we practice as long we are comfortable and feels it can helps to transform our mind to be a better person. It is very important to have harmony and respect amongst the different religions and their practitioners. As long we have better understanding, enhance tolerance and build acceptance in each other different religious beliefs.

Yin yang is a complex concept in Chinese culture that has developed over thousands of years. They have been applying the concept of yin and yang in their daily lives. Taoists believe that the path to wisdom and happiness involves emptying the mind and settling into a deep stillness. What I understand from those beautiful words is learning to let go, while staying detached and behaving simply. We will see our effectiveness grow , do not glorify ourselves and always display ourselves in a humble manner.
Thank you Rinpoche for these great words of wisdom

Power and powerful positions have most often been associated with male as opposed to female gender. But now more and more female are in positions of power. Across the world more female are working than ever before, and are very successful holding the top post. In Kechara itself is so blessed with many powerful female energy.
Thank you, Rinpoche for sharing .

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

In the Lankavatara Sutra, Lord Buddha says: \"For innumerable reasons, the Bodhisattva, whose nature is compassion, is not to any meat. Thus Mahamati, whenever there is the evolution of living beings, let people cherish the thought of kinship with them, and thinking that all beings are [to be loved as if they were] and only child, let them refrain from eating meat. Mahamati, meat is not eaten by anybody for any reason, there will be no destroyer of life. Thus, Mahamati, meat-eating I have not permitted to anyone, I do not permit, I will not permit.\"

At times I have to be a trendsetter in spirituality as opposed to just being a follower and that is why I take chances and try. I may not be liked always for it, but I have to do it. In this way I have been introducing Dorje Shugden to the world. I know Shugden is good and will help so many and that is why I do it.

Courage is doing something you know the majority will not agree with and perhaps even some will scorn you for it, but you do it anyway because you know it\'s right and will benefit people at the cost of your own reputation. That\'s how I feel when I share Dorje Shugden\'s practice with the world.

This is so good. I need to remember this and not allow people to do this to me anymore. Being kind is one thing, but when they are doing it and it harms, it is not a matter of kindness anymore but taking advantage.

Dear friends, The Dorje Shugden oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery was authorized and blessed by both Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. He was a favorite among high lamas for his smooth trances and clear prophecies. Recently Beng Kooi and Martin on behalf of myself and Kechara was lucky to have audience with His Holiness Gaden Trisur Rinpoche Jetsun Lungrik Namgyal of Gaden Shartse Monastery. He lives in around Paris, France. His Holiness is 91 years old and very healthy and alert. He was the 101st throne holder for Tsongkapa and was the head of the Gelugpa school of Buddhism and was very successful during his tenure. He is a strong practitioner of both Sutra and Tantra of Je Tsongkapa\'s tradition and a master of all Buddhist knowledge. He holds steadfast to his protector Dorje Shugden very strongly. So we can see even the highest throneholders who are masters of Sutra and Tantra also practices Dorje Shugden knowing the benefits.

Beng Kooi and Martin brought photo albums of Kechara Forest Retreat/Kechara and updates on Kechara and our works. His Holiness was very pleased to listen and offered some gifts back.

This is a beautiful picture and the great blessings bestowed on us from His Holiness Gaden Trisur Rinpoche Jetsun Lungrik Namgyal.

The great Gautama Siddhartha meditating intensely is protected by the King of Nagas during heavy rains
The King of Nagas knows this great being Siddhartha will soon become the Buddha. By offering his own body as shelter to the Buddha to be, he honours the state of enlightenment which will be won and gains merit for himself for his future lives although he is a naga now. The pre-eminent Buddha is an object of perfect offering gaining great merits for all beings. Tsem Rinpoche

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

    Norma Jean
These are the heartbreaking scenes we see over and over again, that we share in the hopes of telling the stories of those who otherwise would have suffered and vanished from this earth without a trace. This is Norma Jean. Free for a little over five months, she knew more happiness than millions of her sisters ever will. But she couldn’t escape the fate genetically programmed into her as an egg producing machine. She seemed more lethargic than usual this morning, so we brought her inside to administer fluids and antibiotics in the hopes of pulling her through until we could get her in to see our vet. She couldn’t hang on. She died this evening shortly after this video was taken, severely infected from the rotting egg yolk adhered to various organs throughout her abdominal cavity. Like virtually every single one of her sisters, caged or free range, rescued or not, she paid the ultimate price for eggs (from FB)
