BLOG CHAT

Dear blog friends,

I’ve created this section for all of you to share your opinions, thoughts and feelings about whatever interests you.

Everyone has a different perspective, so this section is for you.

Tsem Rinpoche

Scheduled Chat Sessions

We will be having a Kechara Chat Time this Wednesday April 16th 10-11pm (GMT+8) with the title How a Buddhist deals with a crisis. Please come and join in the chat for a fun time and support. Thanks all see you all there.

Blog Chat Etiquette

These are some simple guidelines to make the blog chat room a positive, enjoyable and enlightening experience for everyone. Please note that as this is a chat room, we chat! Do not flood the chat room, or post without interacting with others.

Be friendly

Remember that these are real people you are chatting with. They may have different opinions to you and come from different cultures. Treat them as you would face to face, and respect their opinions, and they will treat you the same.

Be Patient

Give the room a chance to answer you. Patience is a virtue. And if after awhile, people don't respond, perhaps they don't know the answer or they did not see your question. Do ask again or address someone directly. Do not be offended if people do not or are unable to respond to you.

Be Relevant

This is the blog of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. Please respect this space. We request that all participants here are respectful of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche and his organisation, Kechara.

Be polite

Avoid the use of language or attitudes which may be offensive to others. If someone is disrespectful to you, ignore them instead of arguing with them.

Please be advised that anyone who contravenes these guidelines may be banned from the chatroom. Banning is at the complete discretion of the administrator of this blog. Should anyone wish to make an appeal or complaint about the behaviour of someone in the chatroom, please copy paste the relevant chat in an email to us at care@kechara.com and state the date and time of the respective conversation.

Please let this be a conducive space for discussions, both light and profound.

Continue from below, some even close themselves and left their previous paths because they are upset and no answer on their prayers..and they go on searching and searching until they found their own path of their choice in the name of protest..no one can control them as they cant accept the fact that they themselves protesting or angry on certain issues which made them close their heart, mind, soul and spirit to accept the fact all paths are meant to be peaceful, loving and caring..but some perceive in a wrong way and some even said that the scriptures or holy books regress instead of progressing without they themselves knowing or studying the books by their own..the translations went ugly more than benefit others..but who translated it? Humans? Or gurus? Or yourself? People tend to look at the ugly side of everything instead the positive and beautiful angles as we tend to be in this manner.we opt and tend to look at the dark side instead on the bright side..i dont mean to offend anyone but be more open instead of being selfish to ONLY learn one’s religion..

Hi dwayne..hope you are doing fine and well.dont be disheartened.Your devotion to the triple jewel especially to guru amazed me..this blog absolutely its free for everyone to go in and to post their opinion and articles which definitely will benefit many so as to deepened understanding of one’s another religion.i believe that this very main aim of the blog is to create understanding of each other beliefs and religion and paths so as to reach harmony..all teachings and religion as well as paths coexist together and leads to the One True God. Besides, guru himself wrote articles about Jesus and embedded Mother Theresa’s pictures onto his blog..He has his motivation to do..no religion nor any paths own by a single organisation or a community as we have our own free will to embrace and practice them..same to you..i believe before you are buddhist.you might be an antheist or Christian but you chose to believe in buddhism. Me too..am a buddhist but chose to embrace catholicsm on my own free will and beliefs as well as encounters..all articles posted is to benefits all and no danger of that so as long as you are open..i am catholic by faith but i did join several at gompas as well as temples and moreover joined in in the spirit of goodwill to attend dharma classes, and quranic studies to deepened my understanding on each paths so as to enlightened myself to be more adaptable and respect others as human being and beings on the earth..to love each other as Christ commanded and taught.

    The Great Confirmer
    Revelation 3:14
The word Amen solemnly confirms what went before, and Jesus is the great Confirmer; immutable forever is “the Amen” in all His promises . Sinner , I would comfort you with this reflection. Jesus Christ said, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” 1 If you come to Him, He will say “Amen” in your soul; His promise shall be true to you . He said in the days of His flesh, “A bruised reed he will not break.” 2 Poor, broken, bruised heart, if you come to Him, He will say “Amen” to you, and it will be true in your soul as in hundreds of cases in years gone by.
Christian , isn’t this very comforting to you also, that there is not a word that has come from the Savior’s lips that He has ever retracted? The words of Jesus will stand when heaven and earth pass away. If you get ahold of but half a promise, you will find it true. Watch out for those who ignore the promises and so miss much of the comfort of God’s Word.
Jesus is Yes and Amen in all His offices . He was a Priest to pardon and cleanse once; He is Amen as Priest still. He was a King to rule and reign for His people and to defend them with His mighty arm; He is an Amen King, the same still. He was a Prophet of old, to foretell good things to come; His words remain trustworthy and true—He is an Amen Prophet. He is Amen as to the merit of His blood; He is Amen as to His righteousness. That sacred robe will remain most fair and glorious when nature shall decay. He is Amen in every single title that He bears; your Husband, never seeking a divorce; your Friend, sticking closer than a brother; your Shepherd, with you in death’s dark vale; your Help and your Deliverer; your Refuge and your Strong Tower; the Vessel of your strength, your confidence, your joy, your all in all, and your Yes and Amen in everything.

    verse 1 Ecclesiastes 6
    verse 2 2 Timothy 2

For tsemtulku – i Offer my deepest regard and respect. i offer prostrations of body , speech and mind to my Gurus, Buddha , Dharma, and Sangha. In a world that changes on a dime, i offer up my preconceived ideas of what unconditional love really is and pray for insight into the four giving, that i will one day become enlightened and for the benefit of all my mothers throughout space and time. Thank you Rinpoche for what must be endless hours of caring for us all.

    Resurrection? Prove It to Me
by Dr. Ralph F. Wilson “Raised from the dead? Sure. Right. And I have a bridge I’d like to sell you.”
That’s how Thomas might have responded if he had lived in our day. “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands, and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it.”1 He’d seen dead people before. And Jesus was dead. He sounds like sophisticated rationalists of the Twenty-first Century. “It isn’t plausible,” they would contend. “It didn’t happen.” But what if it did happen? Thomas was convinced when Jesus appeared to him, reached out his hands to Thomas, and said, “Put your finger here.” Thomas dropped to his knees. “My Lord and my God!”2 It was self-hypnosis, you counter. The disciples wanted to believe that their Lord was not dead, so they just invented it out of whole cloth. Really? Let’s look at some of the evidence. Jesus’ body was missing. If the Jews could have found it, they could have stilled the preaching of Jesus’ resurrection that filled Jerusalem. But they could not.
The body wasn’t stolen. The Romans had no motive. The Jews had no motive. Ah-ha, you say, the disciples stole it. There is the matter of the Roman guards, and the disciples’ initial disbelief when the women brought them the news early that Easter morning. This brings me to my third point.
If the disciples had stolen the body, you wouldn’t expect them to risk their lives. People don’t die for what they know is not true. But the disciples put their lives on the line, and nearly all were eventually martyred for their faith. They certainly believed it.
The church mushroomed size in Jerusalem, the very place he was crucified. Followers of Jesus in the city of Jerusalem grew from a few dozen to thousands upon thousands soon after Jesus’ resurrection. They believed it was true.
Contemporary documents refer to the event. Thallus the Samaritan, Suetonius, Tacitus, Pliny contain references to Jesus. Jewish historian Josephus writes about Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection. They knew something had happened.
Jesus’ resurrection from the dead is actually more plausible than any other explanation. That’s why we Christians make such a big deal about Easter. That’s why we celebrate.
Jesus’ resurrection means that death is not the end. That though my body may lie mouldering in the ground, Jesus, whom the Father raised from the dead, gives me eternal life. Ultimately, we Christians believe, our bodies, too, will be raised from the dead.
And since Jesus is not dead, people can encounter him today. You can know him through a personal relationship. I could point to lots of people who can testify what Jesus has done in their lives to bring them from the brink of disaster to peace and meaning and joy. He changes people for good.
If you’re not sure can’t really say you’ve met this risen Jesus, this Easter Sunday why don’t you slip into church to seek him. And perhaps in the midst of our celebration, you’ll find him for yourself.
He’s alive, you know. That’s what Easter is all about!

God Is my Father My Father in Heaven, how sweet it is to know that You are my Father and that I am your Child! Especially when the skies of my souls are cloudy and my cross weighs more heavily, I feel the need to repeat to You: Father, I believe in Your love for me! Yes, I believe that You are a Father to me at every moment of my life, and that I am Your child! I believe that You love me with an infinite love! I believe that You are watching over me night and day and that not a hair falls from my head without your permission! I believe that, in Your infinite Wisdom, You know better than I what is good for me. I believe that, in Your infinite power, You can bring good even out of evil. I believe that, in Your infinite goodness, You make everything to the advantage of those who love You; even under the hands of those who strike me I kiss Your hand which heals! I believe, but increase in me faith, hope and love! Teach me always to see You love as my guide in every event of my life. Teach me to surrender myself to You like a baby in its mother’s arms. Father, You know everything. You see everything, you know me better than I know myself; You can do everything, and You love me! My Father, since it is Your wish that we should always turn to You, I come with confidence to ask You, together with Jesus and Mary….(here request the favor that you desire). For this intention, and uniting myself to their Most Sacred Hearts, I offer You all my prayers, my sacrifices and mortification’s, all my actions, and greater faithfulness to my duties. Give me the light, the grace and the power of the Holy Spirit! Strengthen me in this Spirit, that I may never lose Him, never sadden Him and never allow Him to become weaker in me. My Father, I ask this in the name of Jesus, Your Son! And You, Jesus, open Your Heart and place in it my own, and, together with Mary’s, offer it to our divine Father! Obtain for me the grace that I need! Divine Father, call all men to Yourself. Let all the world proclaim Your fatherly goodness and You divine mercy! Be a tender Father to me and protect me wherever I am, like the apple of Your eye. Make me always a worthy son/daughter; have mercy on me! Divine Father, sweet hope of our souls, may You be known, honored and loved by all men! Divine Father, infinite goodness poured out on all peoples, may You be known, honored and loved by all men! Divine Father, beneficent dew of humanity, may You be known, honored and loved by all men! ~~ by Mother Eugenia

For the expanding grandeur of Creation,
    worlds known and unknown,
    galaxies beyond galaxies,
filling us with awe and challenging our imaginations: We give thanks this day. For this fragile planet earth,
its times and tides, its sunsets and seasons: We give thanks this day. For the joy of human life,
its wonders and surprises, its hopes and achievements: We give thanks this day. For our human community,
our common past and future hope,
    our oneness transcending all separation,
our capacity to work for peace and justice in the midst of hostility and oppression: We give thanks this day. For high hopes and noble causes, for faith without fanaticism,
for understanding of views not shared: We give thanks this day. For all who have labored and suffered for a fairer world,
    who have lived so that others might live in dignity and freedom: We give thanks this day. For human liberty and sacred rites;
for opportunities to change and grow, to affirm and choose: We give thanks this day. We pray that we may live not by our fears but by our hopes,
not by our words but by our deeds. we give thanks this day – o. eugene pickett

May I be protector for those without one,
    A guide for all travellers on the way;
May I be a bridge, a boat and a ship
For all who wish to cross (the water). May I be an island for those who seek one
And a lamp for those desiring light,
May I be a bed for all who wish to rest
And a slave for all who want a slave. May I be a wishing jewel, a magic vase,
    Powerful mantras and great medicine,
    May I become a wish‐fulfilling tree
And a cow of plenty for the world. Just like space
And the great elements such as earth,
May I always support the life
Of all the boundless creatures. And until they pass away from pain
May I also be the source of life
For all the realms of varied beings
That reach unto the ends of space. a guide to the bodhisattva’s way of life – shantideva

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

This mechanism was recovered from the Antikythera shipwreck in 1901. Its complexity and purpose was not understood for another hundred years. Dated to around 200 BC, it is identified to be an analog computer used to calculate the astronomical position of the stars and planets. Its juxtaposition among other ancient artifacts is akin to finding a jet airplane inside King Tutankhamun’s tomb. The device, whose inner workings are far more complex than a Swiss watch, is capable of accurately measuring the movement of the sun, the moon (and all its phases), eclipse cycles and the position of the planets. Who could have built this?~https://www.facebook.com/cosmic.intelligenceagency

Never be angry at your guru, Hold a grudge against your guru. Never seek revenge against your guru. Never talk badly about your guru to cover your mistakes. Don't abandon your guru or ignore  your guru because he loved you for you as no one else  did and dared to love your potential too. Never hold your anger for long against your guru. Your guru was only doing his 'job' by teaching you, showing you better, explaining the dharma to you and was very brave to do so for you as no one else would dare do so. No one would dare take that job. No one else dared to love you and give you more. ~Tsem Rinpoche

The Medicine Buddha is the composition of the buddhas. This means that when we practice the seven-limb prayer and make offerings with the seven limbs, we receive the same merit as we would if we had made offerings to all the Buddhas. Similarly, when we recite the mantra of Medicine Buddha, we collect unbelievable merit just as when we offer the seven-limb practice to Medicine Buddha. Be the cause for many to come to receive the healing of the Medicine Buddha and seal tremendous merits for yourself and your family in this life and the other lives to come.~Martin Get involved: http://www.medicinebuddhahill.com

I love country roads. I wish this one lead to a secluded wooden retreat house where I lived away and far from the trappings of samsara and it's endless deceptions. Those who agree or participate in the deceptions will not only invite depression and disillusionment, but perhaps eventually be 'crippled' by it and trapped for long spells of 'time'. TR

What a nice comment by Antonio Rocco Romeo left on my facebook comments. I like people who have gratitude and show it. Not just say it but show it because they are the people who will get far and be less self-introverted creating less unhappiness in their minds. Happiness comes from having gratitude. Tsem Rinpoche

In horror of death, I took to the mountains— Again and again I meditated on the uncertainty of the hour of death, Capturing the fortress of the deathless unending nature of mind. Now all fear of death is over and done. ~ MILAREPA

This is what my 1972 blue Volkswagon beetle looked like when I had it in the 80's.  This is the exact color too. I drove it all over Los Angeles. It didn't have alot of power but it got me around. Tsem Rinpoche

Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo: "However dark our minds may be, however hard our hearts may be, this is not our true nature... enlightenment is when we finally come into our true humanity." ... pic Korea Nov 2013 ( We must keep practicing and applying the dharma strongly to bring our real nature out. Don't let temporary emotions and dark feelings let us give up our dharma practice or works. Don't listen to people who have done very little for us or what they did for us heralds only more sufferings. Listen to the dharma. Tsem Rinpoche )

Joy has been with me for many years and very talented. She really has painted hundreds of Buddha images within Kechara. I asked her to join me in USA to help do some work and she was on the plane within 48 hours after her spiritual retreat in another part of the US. Joy is here in the USA to help our Tsem Rinpoche Foundation. She went for a two week retreat and then joined me. Welcome. Tsem Rinpoche

Dear everyone, All sentient beings deserve to live, be happy and not hurt, including animals. We should never hurt them or eat them. Look how much this chicken welcomes a hug and love. Observe carefully. Don't eat beings who can feel pain because the karma comes back. Tsem Rinpoche

Dear friends, See this incredible video. This chimp was found in captivity for many years. Dr Jane Goodall released him into the wild. Look how he comes back to thank her with deep apprecition. It's amazing. Animals have such strong feelings of pain and happiness just like us. We should never hurt them and share with others to not hurt them. Tsem Rinpoche http://www.tsemrinpoche.com

Very touching video...Buddha said it was very important to visit the four holy places associated with Him before our deaths. Remembering this, I had instructed Paul to take this senior group to Bodhgaya and make sure they are able to plant imprints. When this life of 'fun', money, parties and socials are over, we cannot leave empty handed. Tsem Rinpoche

Aki is the old African Grey that was abandoned by his owner. Because he is old, no one wanted him. Well we wanted him and we took him and in and love him. He is in a big aviary and he likes his cage. We leave his cage open at all times so he can go in and out as he likes. His cage is his security blanket. Cute. He gets nice food and sunshine daily and also we play monks chanting for him to be blessed. We love you Aki. Tsem Rinpoche

This little birdie was at a pet shop. He has maimed leg, permanent damage to his wing and cannot fly and also one eye blind. I don't think anyone would want the poor thing, so I adopted him and keep him safe, fed and with lots of fresh air. He's also in a large aviary so he can be with other birds and not be alone. He is alert, active, and has a good appetite. I like him very much and will make sure he is safe, happy and has a good life. I name him Lucky. Lucky will always be safe now. Tsem Rinpoche

Why cultivate good qualities? The nature of the mind is such that if certain mental qualities are developed on a sound basis, they not only remain, but they also increase. In fact, once properly developed, the mind’s good qualities eventually increase indefinitely. Therefore spiritual practice brings us long-term happiness and inner strength. ~ HH Dalai Lama http://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/inspiration-worthy-words/why-cultivate-good-qualities.html From: June Tang (Khjb)
