Some of Kecharians made such nice postcards with pictures and my quotes. I like some of these and thought to share with everyone. They look fun. Kecharians really are creative and do good work. Thank you for these.

Previously I had done cards which came out very nice. Take a look:

I like Dharma Contemporary… cards!

I love creative spirituality!

There was once in the office, my colleagues were making fun of my attire and style. I gave them this quote and their reaction was priceless.

“They laugh at me because I’m different, I laugh at them because they’re all the same”

Oh well, I do learn from the best you see. Thank you Rinpoche =)

I notice a trend of quote sharing on Facebook recently, but most are teenage angst. While those quotes often express oneself’s emotions, it is refreshing & relieving to see Rinpoche’s Dharma quote being shared on Facebook recently.

I believe that Rinpoche’s quote are very practical & enriching. It is definitely much more beneficial. Would LIKE & share more of these post card quotes on Facebook!

Pop art and Buddhism will never gel together but we did. By using such a refreshing way, we are able to bring Buddhism to many people who always think Buddhism is only for senior citizen.

When I first receive these cards, I was very surprise the chemistry between Buddhism and modern world could be so well. We should all learn up the essential teachings from our Lama , and gel it with the modern society… Personally I feel the life will be easier and lighter with dharma.

Thanks whoever designed these cards and thanks Rinpoche for sharing this with us.

  4. Elsie Toy on Jan 17, 2012 at 8:08 am

They are all so interesting and really really love the quotes especially the one that says ” True love is selfless” Really beautiful and love. It would be great if they can be put into posters and I can get it up on my wall. Post it on the wall and everyone can get to read it and slowly it will be imprinted in their head. Thank you for those beautiful people to did all these and Thank you Rinpoche to share it with us.

I got this nice postcard, which put in a nice photo’s frame on Guru’s birthday. The nice photo with the wording is on top of my office’s table, keep reminding me not to give up. I love these photos so much! Thanks Guru for sharing, thanks Kechara sisters and brothers who made this photos.

  6. Ethan Chu on Jan 18, 2012 at 6:45 am

I have always like short quotes. It is simple, I dont have to read the whole book but it made me think. Simple yet so powerful. It was Rinpoche’s short quote that got me inspire for Dharma. Just like a few of Kechara power titles like “If not now when”, “Nothing changes, everything changes”, just to name a few… 108 ways to grab of apples is one of my “highly recommend” handbook for daily survival in this samsara life.. hehe.

So i thought these postcards were fabulously made. Catchy, fun and young, i have always been a fan of POP! And my kind guru has gone POP this season? Hehe… Warhol left nothing but art, but we have art and Dharma. It is time to pop those teachings yo! :)

  7. Karen C. on Jan 18, 2012 at 1:20 pm

I’ve always been fancy on everything about 60′s: Op art and pop art (Andy Warhol) movements, Mary Quant, Mod fashion, The beatles, Elvis Presley… When pop art meets dharma, how cool? Imagine these post cards are sold in every souvenir shop, bookstores, departmental stores or even cafe? When foreign tourists wanna buy post cards and send back home, on top of those boring landscape and building pictures, they can find these modern and funky postcards with short and sweet quotes which derived from Buddha’s teachings, this is another way to spread dharma.

  8. tenzin llhamo on Jan 18, 2012 at 5:20 pm

Love the post cards…Especially the quotes…Priceless! I have 1 with frame on my altar, quote in mandarin though and allthough I don’t understand, it looks good with Rinpoche in it…

  9. mayy on Jan 19, 2012 at 5:33 pm

Thank you so much for these postcard quotes are so useful for people to print them as A Quote A Day to uplift one’s mood or to start the day. Great motivational quotes to ponder and to incorporate in our daily life.

  10. Frederick Law on Jan 20, 2012 at 11:59 pm

wonderful postcard, nice design, yet the quote packs a punch and deliver the message straight and effective like an arrow hitting the bulls eyes.

Rinpoche short quote brings alot of meaning when one contemplate on it,each and every quote by Rinpoche is like being tailor made to suit each different individual, and also suit our different situation in life to help us move forward. combining with the creativity of the person who design this, it becomes so alive.

    Thank you Rinpoche for everything.

  11. DR on Jan 21, 2012 at 4:56 pm

What nice postcards and so universal too! It’s encouraging to see Rinpoche’s always refreshing methods of spreading Dharma, has spread to more of his students.

  12. DR on Jan 21, 2012 at 5:05 pm

Just recalled something. the postcard with four different colours is so Andy Warhol. I remember years ago, David Lai did a poster of Rinpoche in this concept. Jean Mei successfully bided for it at our first CNY fundraising dinner. She later gave it to KB when she left for UK.

  13. Han Siew Fong on Jan 30, 2012 at 8:35 pm

All the nice quotes with wonderful pictures of Rinpoche.
These creative cards will widely accepted by all ages.

    Thanks to the creative kecharians

  15. Wan Wai Meng on Feb 3, 2012 at 3:28 pm

The postcard with the four colours the style is by a an artist his name escapes me, some please tell me thanks. Rinpoche’s dharma quotes really hit to the core and is very direct. I love it.

I just remembered it it is ANdy Warhol, can anyone tell me how i can make andy warhol type of pictures any website or tool to use online?

  16. Christopher Seaman on Feb 5, 2012 at 3:06 pm

Rinpoche, I feel somewhat weird leaving a comment in a public setting like this, but I know you see this page, so I felt it was necessary to say. Before I saw your videos on YouTube, I had a very negative impression of Tibetan Buddhism. I thought it was misguided, fanatical, superstitious, etc. However, after watching your teachings, I formed a very different impression, and started becoming much …more curious about Tibetan Buddhism in general. Before long, I started attending my local Dharma center, where I now live with my current teacher. In any case, I just wanted to express my gratitude to you, because I don’t know if I would have come to the Dharma without your teachings. Please live a very long life because, as I personally can attest, you bring tremendous benefit to people all over the world. ♥

  22. patsy on Nov 18, 2012 at 10:47 am

Interesting postcards! I love all the motivational quotes on it which we can read over and over again and to contemplate and apply into our daily lives.

  23. Joy on Mar 3, 2013 at 1:46 am

How creative! I love these fabulous postcards of Rinpoche here. The quotes are really timeless!

I love this quote the most “Changing is not hard, you have to amend your perspective”.

This is so apt for us to apply in our lives. With this kind of thought daily, if practiced, so many things in our lives would change literally. How we see things will become different, the glass will no longer be half empty but half full. The things that we dislike, that we make a huge fuss about, all our dramas and all our little hang ups and how we react and feel with change tremendously. All from just looking at things differently and with this change is view we find peace! How simple, easy to apply. Perhaps this is why so many people tell me that they really do not understand how we do it working in Dharma, but really it is all a matter of a change in your perceptions. Also from how we perceive things, shows us who we are and what is our priorities.

Did you know that the Buddha slept only one hour a day? His daily routine was such that during the last watch of the night, at 3 am to 4 am, He would sleep mindfully, lying on the right side. The only other time He was able to take a rest was during the afternoon session. After the noon meal, he would give a short Dharma talk and give instructions on meditation to some disciples. Usually, after this, the Blessed One would retire to his private chamber and rest. If He so desired, He would lie on His right side and slept for a while with mindfulness. There is so much to learn about the Buddha’s life and teachings. His life was itself an example of His teachings, a quality mentioned in the “Four Ways of Gathering Disciples”.

Last time in Delhi you can find very nice Pabongka Rinpoche statues around 12 inches in height. Unfortunately I could not afford it at the time so I just admired it returned back to Gaden. When I did finally have a little money and was in Delhi again, I wanted to purchase, but they sold out and did not make anymore to my dismay. I was very disappointed. I have been looking for nice Pabongka Rinpoche statues ever since. A Pabongka Rinpoche, Trijang Rinpoche and Zong Rinpoche statue set (all same sizes) for the shrine would be nice. “Before we experience any pain, we already had a fixed view of how things should be. When the experience we encounter contradicts our views, then the pain arises. The pain arises due to our fixed views not so much the experience itself. So the secret is changing the views. Re-educating ourselves on our views.” ~ Tsem Rinpoche (abstract from http://www.tsemrinpoche.com/chat)

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

This is one of the best Avalokitesvara thangkas I have ever seen. I rarely see an Avalokitesvara that draws me or I really like. I am very particular about thangka paintings. But this one is really done by a super skilled artist. The eyes are perfect and the gaze is the correct angle of calm/contemplativeness. The lips, nose and proportions are stunning. The coloring and feel is regality and serenity with great compassion. He feels alive. I would love to get a copy of this very much. Tsem Rinpoche

  • The Girl Who Couldn't Cry - Water is Life
The Girl Who Couldn't Cry - Water is Life
It's really hard to educate a generation of people born in conditions where they take things for granted. A simple slogan campaign that says, "Save water, It's precious" isn't sticky enough to make inroads. That's exactly where this video steps in: to make people realize how precious water actually is. A brilliant video that follows the heartbreaking story of a young girl that cannot cry. Sounds like fiction? Sadly, it is not.

Dear everyone, All sentient beings deserve to live, be happy and not hurt, including animals. We should never hurt them or eat them. Look how much this chicken welcomes a hug and love. Observe carefully. Don't eat beings who can feel pain because the karma comes back. Tsem Rinpoche

Dear friends, See this incredible video. This chimp was found in captivity for many years. Dr Jane Goodall released him into the wild. Look how he comes back to thank her with deep apprecition. It's amazing. Animals have such strong feelings of pain and happiness just like us. We should never hurt them and share with others to not hurt them. Tsem Rinpoche http://www.tsemrinpoche.com

Now he is with us and assimilating in his cage within the aviary for a few weeks then released into aviary. Look at how much he wants attention from the other birds. Cute. Tsem Rinpoche

Very touching video...Buddha said it was very important to visit the four holy places associated with Him before our deaths. Remembering this, I had instructed Paul to take this senior group to Bodhgaya and make sure they are able to plant imprints. When this life of 'fun', money, parties and socials are over, we cannot leave empty handed. Tsem Rinpoche

Aki is the old African Grey that was abandoned by his owner. Because he is old, no one wanted him. Well we wanted him and we took him and in and love him. He is in a big aviary and he likes his cage. We leave his cage open at all times so he can go in and out as he likes. His cage is his security blanket. Cute. He gets nice food and sunshine daily and also we play monks chanting for him to be blessed. We love you Aki. Tsem Rinpoche

佛法不是我从事或参与的一些活动,而是一些跟融合而为一的东西。佛法自小就活在我心里。我爱佛法、相信佛法及持修佛法。它自然而然来到我生命里。佛法就在我身体里,它完全无法跟我分离。~詹杜固仁波切 http://weibo.cn/comment/hj5ynG?uid=1837031263&rl=0#cmtfrm From: June Tang (Khjb)

~Twenty-Seven Verses On Mind Training~ (Composed by Lama Je Tsongkhapa ~1357-1419 ) http://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/tsongkhapa-prayers.html #12 Such meditative practice brings to light the mind which envisions only the well-being of others, which is constantly grateful to all beloved beings for the immeasurable kindness they have poured forth through beginningless time as mothers, fathers, children, friends, benefactors, and teachers. This mind of goodness knows only the ceaseless longing to benefit all these blessed beings without exception in whatever manner and on whatever level imaginable. From: June Tang (Khjb)

~Twenty-Seven Verses On Mind Training~ (Composed by Lama Je Tsongkhapa ~1357-1419 ) http://www.tsemrinpoche.com/tsem-tulku-rinpoche/buddhas-dharma/tsongkhapa-prayers.html #11 The method taught by awakened sages to develop this skillful mind of kindness is to cut the root of all selfish projections by repeatedly and intensively studying Perfect Wisdom, meditating single pointedly on its essence in a state of contemplative stillness and stability. With the clarity and honesty of such concentration, projected worlds of self-serving desire will melt in the sunlight of meditation, like structures of ice, revealing the magnificent secret of our existence, its total significance and absolute justification, which is active compassion for all conscious life.
