These postcards are very creative and well thought out. They are catchy and thought provoking. The one that I like the best is, “How much you endure is up to your compassion”.

This is such a powerful quote. Many times we give up due to selfish reasons. We have enough. We can’t go through the stress anymore. It’s too difficult… How many actually endures for the sake of others?

Those who do, usually focus on the bigger picture rather than on their negative thoughts that stem from the “self”. Hence, compassion is only possible if we focus out.

Rinpoche’s kind wisdom presented in a cool way.

How creative! I love these fabulous postcards of Rinpoche here. The quotes are really timeless!

I love this quote the most “Changing is not hard, you have to amend your perspective”.

This is so apt for us to apply in our lives. With this kind of thought daily, if practiced, so many things in our lives would change literally. How we see things will become different, the glass will no longer be half empty but half full. The things that we dislike, that we make a huge fuss about, all our dramas and all our little hang ups and how we react and feel with change tremendously. All from just looking at things differently and with this change is view we find peace! How simple, easy to apply. Perhaps this is why so many people tell me that they really do not understand how we do it working in Dharma, but really it is all a matter of a change in your perceptions. Also from how we perceive things, shows us who we are and what is our priorities.

Interesting postcards! I love all the motivational quotes on it which we can read over and over again and to contemplate and apply into our daily lives.

Rinpoche, I feel somewhat weird leaving a comment in a public setting like this, but I know you see this page, so I felt it was necessary to say. Before I saw your videos on YouTube, I had a very negative impression of Tibetan Buddhism. I thought it was misguided, fanatical, superstitious, etc. However, after watching your teachings, I formed a very different impression, and started becoming much …more curious about Tibetan Buddhism in general. Before long, I started attending my local Dharma center, where I now live with my current teacher. In any case, I just wanted to express my gratitude to you, because I don’t know if I would have come to the Dharma without your teachings. Please live a very long life because, as I personally can attest, you bring tremendous benefit to people all over the world. ♥

The postcard with the four colours the style is by a an artist his name escapes me, some please tell me thanks. Rinpoche’s dharma quotes really hit to the core and is very direct. I love it.

I just remembered it it is ANdy Warhol, can anyone tell me how i can make andy warhol type of pictures any website or tool to use online?

  12. wahying on Jan 31, 2012 at 4:54 pm

All the nice quotes with wonderful pictures of Rinpoche.
These creative cards will widely accepted by all ages.

    Thanks to the creative kecharians

  14. DR on Jan 21, 2012 at 5:05 pm

Just recalled something. the postcard with four different colours is so Andy Warhol. I remember years ago, David Lai did a poster of Rinpoche in this concept. Jean Mei successfully bided for it at our first CNY fundraising dinner. She later gave it to KB when she left for UK.

  15. DR on Jan 21, 2012 at 4:56 pm

What nice postcards and so universal too! It’s encouraging to see Rinpoche’s always refreshing methods of spreading Dharma, has spread to more of his students.

  16. Frederick Law on Jan 20, 2012 at 11:59 pm

wonderful postcard, nice design, yet the quote packs a punch and deliver the message straight and effective like an arrow hitting the bulls eyes.

Rinpoche short quote brings alot of meaning when one contemplate on it,each and every quote by Rinpoche is like being tailor made to suit each different individual, and also suit our different situation in life to help us move forward. combining with the creativity of the person who design this, it becomes so alive.

    Thank you Rinpoche for everything.

Thank you so much for these postcard quotes are so useful for people to print them as A Quote A Day to uplift one’s mood or to start the day. Great motivational quotes to ponder and to incorporate in our daily life.

Love the post cards…Especially the quotes…Priceless! I have 1 with frame on my altar, quote in mandarin though and allthough I don’t understand, it looks good with Rinpoche in it…

  19. Karen C. on Jan 18, 2012 at 1:20 pm

I’ve always been fancy on everything about 60′s: Op art and pop art (Andy Warhol) movements, Mary Quant, Mod fashion, The beatles, Elvis Presley… When pop art meets dharma, how cool? Imagine these post cards are sold in every souvenir shop, bookstores, departmental stores or even cafe? When foreign tourists wanna buy post cards and send back home, on top of those boring landscape and building pictures, they can find these modern and funky postcards with short and sweet quotes which derived from Buddha’s teachings, this is another way to spread dharma.

  20. Ethan Chu on Jan 18, 2012 at 6:45 am

I have always like short quotes. It is simple, I dont have to read the whole book but it made me think. Simple yet so powerful. It was Rinpoche’s short quote that got me inspire for Dharma. Just like a few of Kechara power titles like “If not now when”, “Nothing changes, everything changes”, just to name a few… 108 ways to grab of apples is one of my “highly recommend” handbook for daily survival in this samsara life.. hehe.

So i thought these postcards were fabulously made. Catchy, fun and young, i have always been a fan of POP! And my kind guru has gone POP this season? Hehe… Warhol left nothing but art, but we have art and Dharma. It is time to pop those teachings yo! :)

  21. freon on Jan 17, 2012 at 8:15 am

I got this nice postcard, which put in a nice photo’s frame on Guru’s birthday. The nice photo with the wording is on top of my office’s table, keep reminding me not to give up. I love these photos so much! Thanks Guru for sharing, thanks Kechara sisters and brothers who made this photos.

  22. Elsie Toy on Jan 17, 2012 at 8:08 am

They are all so interesting and really really love the quotes especially the one that says ” True love is selfless” Really beautiful and love. It would be great if they can be put into posters and I can get it up on my wall. Post it on the wall and everyone can get to read it and slowly it will be imprinted in their head. Thank you for those beautiful people to did all these and Thank you Rinpoche to share it with us.

  23. Bryan Ho on Jan 16, 2012 at 3:39 am

Pop art and Buddhism will never gel together but we did. By using such a refreshing way, we are able to bring Buddhism to many people who always think Buddhism is only for senior citizen.

When I first receive these cards, I was very surprise the chemistry between Buddhism and modern world could be so well. We should all learn up the essential teachings from our Lama , and gel it with the modern society… Personally I feel the life will be easier and lighter with dharma.

Thanks whoever designed these cards and thanks Rinpoche for sharing this with us.

  24. Wan Hong on Jan 15, 2012 at 8:56 pm

I notice a trend of quote sharing on Facebook recently, but most are teenage angst. While those quotes often express oneself’s emotions, it is refreshing & relieving to see Rinpoche’s Dharma quote being shared on Facebook recently.

I believe that Rinpoche’s quote are very practical & enriching. It is definitely much more beneficial. Would LIKE & share more of these post card quotes on Facebook!

  25. Jeffrey Yee on Jan 15, 2012 at 3:32 pm

There was once in the office, my colleagues were making fun of my attire and style. I gave them this quote and their reaction was priceless.

“They laugh at me because I’m different, I laugh at them because they’re all the same”

Oh well, I do learn from the best you see. Thank you Rinpoche =)

This article published in the right time for me. Many of my friends (non Kecharian )keep asking why I am so busy with my dharma work till not much time to socialize with them. I did keep myself alone and think why I should do dharma. Why I should follow instructions or task given by Guru(Tsem Rinpoche)?
On 17 April 2016, Pastor Seng Piow talk really answer all the questions about this.He said Guru will give us a task which need us to handle it with the right attitude by applying dharma knowledge.Guru has higher attainment than us. He know the way to train us to become a better person and guide us to the enlighten path.
The Fifty verses on Guru Devotion must be understand and practice by us. This will enable us to have strong and unshakable affirmative to our Guru. The most important of Guru’s teaching are selflessness and emptiness. These two elements will guide us to do more dharma to benefit others.
Last but not least, I would like to thanks Rinpoche for your good and easy understanding teaching so everyone can understand it and practice it.I hope everyone (Kecharian or non Kecharian )will appreciate teachings from Guru. Guru is given us a guidelines but most important is ourself to change.

    With folded hands,
    Jason

It takes a lot of merits for us to meet with a qualified lama, one who is well learned and exhibits the dharma spontaneously; someone who sees through delusions and works directly with the nature of our mind, to bring out the goodness in us. He or she does not judge us for our delusions, but happily love and genuinely care for who we really are. Therefore, a qualified lama is one who will not let go of anyone regardless how he or she is being treated because they see the buddha nature in the subject they are working with.

We are lucky, I am lucky, that we are so fortunate to have met with such a highly attained lama, who works 24 hours every day just to make sure someone is benefitted from the dharma, to be liberated from sufferings, to open up from their wrong perceptions, to transform for the better. His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche does exactly this and more! He really put his needs, his dream, his “comfort”, his wishes, etc. aside just to help someone, even if it is just for ONE person. He does that regardless, whether he or she is a student, a friend, a stranger, an “enemy”, animals, seen or unseen beings. To Rinpoche, everyone is equal and they all deserves happiness. Rinpoche does his best so that everyone has true freedom, freedom for self-deceptive illusions. A truly free person is one who is not bound by attachment, specifically inner attachment.

Rinpoche does a lot of works behind the scene to help and to care for others quietly because he has no ego and self-interest. He can be seen doing prayers, getting a group of people to organise light offerings, to fly overseas to meet people; to teach, to cook, to share, to give, to help, to feed, etc. every single moment of his day for someone who is in a dire situation, in need or for a bigger picture we are too short sighted to see. There’s no one moment that he does what he did for himself. The priority is others always.

Rinpoche seldom rest for that is a sign of the realisation of impermanence, emptiness, and death; a sign of one who truly functions from bodhicitta. He reminds us always how time is short and we should not waste our precious human life for meaningless samsara pleasures but to focus on mind transformation. He is a perfect example of what he preaches, a walking and living dharma so precious you can hardly find.

In a time where materialism is a priority, people are brought up thinking that life is about everything we desire, dharma becomes foreign and difficult to digest. It is not because Rinpoche has said anything offensive, he merely shares the truth that has long forgotten the hurts because we are too egoistic to see how deluded we are. The discomfort of knowing the truth made them turn away from dharma, disparage Rinpoche, the Three Jewels, taking refuge in one’s own laziness and ignorance.

A truthful, sincere and genuine lama does not like us to stay ignorant, for it is much easier for us to keep it that way and he does not need to think of creative ways to challenge our ignorance so life is wonderful for everyone. Rinpoche is truthful, sincere, genuine, kind, compassionate and full of wisdom, he wants us to enjoy what we deserve and be who we really are, so we are independent of our delusion and advanced without having to stick to the vicious cycle of suffering.

Of course, Rinpoche should continue to teach, because he has everything it takes to teach. He is more than qualified, but the question though is: whether we deserve him; do we show with the actions of our body, speech and mind that we do. The ball is in our hands, we decide whether Rinpoche continues to teach and whether we have what it takes to support Rinpoche’s stay in this life with us.

Thank you Rinpoche for sharing the World Peace Dhama Protector to us. I’m very grateful to be able to learn Dorje Shugden practice. If it is not because Rinpoche’s compassion to introduce and share this practice to us, I may not even have a chance to learn.

Dorje Shugden will always assist us to clear our obstacles due to our karma and mind. Dorje Shugden is definitely a good friend to have. I hope more people will know this great protector and benefit from the dharma practice.

As much as I enjoy this post on Chupzang Nunnery and appreciate the detailed introduction of it, I can’t help but notice there was no mentioned of Dorje Shugden in the protector chapel although Pabongka Rinpoche had given His 24-day lamrim course here. This property also once belonged to H.H. Trijang Dorje Chang who is the heart son of Pabongka Rinpoche. Both Pabongka Rinpoche and Trijang Rinpoche are very prominent Dorje Shugden practitioners as well as highly attained lamas. The Dorje Shugden lineage was carried and spread by them to many. Many Gelug masters today are their direct or indirect students due to the influence of these two lamas. So, logically speaking, these nuns would be Dorje Shugden practitioners.

Professor José Ignacio Cabezón is a Professor of Religious Studies of the Department of Religious Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Professor Cabezón was appointed first holder of the Dalai Lama Chair in 2001 of the university. This chair was created in honour of His Holiness for the Tibetan Buddhism and Cultural Studies to preserve and learn from the traditions of Tibetan culture. The linkage between Professor Cabezón and His Holiness is an obvious one. It might make sense if Professor Cabezón avoid mentioning Dorje Shugden, perhaps even replace it with Nechung, so to be on the good sides of His Holiness.

I admire Professor Cabezón’s scholarship very much and I believe a scholar should have good ethics to seek truth rather than taking sides for any reasons.

I like the idea of massless particles though it involves a form in the picture as massless is a body in different shapes. A form regardless of its shape still requires many particles to come together so to form it. Therefore, a form cannot be independent and exist on its own.

Another point I find interesting is Ali and Das’s avoidance in using the singularities. This might contradict with the concept of a particle as it has the quality of being singular to begin with. The concept of geodesic and trajectory although differs from the way there are presented, ie the difference between a line and a path, both still requires one thing to function. Therefore, singularity still plays a role there.

    Dear Edward,

Thank you for this comprehensive post. It is really amazing how Bigfoot is sighted at so many places yet people are denying their existence. The evidence in your post has given more credibilities for Bigfoot’s existence.

It is true that we have very limited knowledge about many things, including fellow earthlings we have never heard of. Being open minded about new things are important as we need to improve and not stay stagnant with a narrow mind that will not bring success in life.

Thank you for this and looking forward to more sharing from you.

    Dear Rinpoche
Thank you for sharing this article and hopefully more people will be aware of animals being abuse in such a cruel way.Its sad to see such heartless and cruel act still exist in Bulgaria.Feeling so sorry for those helpless dogs.Do hope these ancient rituals will be ban soon.

What Am I Writing Now

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.
~Tsem Rinpoche

Because of the ban against Dorje Shugden followers started in 1996, 700 monks had to cut from Sera Mey Monastery and start this new monastery. This new Serpom Monastery located in South India still suffers tremendous hatred and prejudice, but the brave monks continue their practice and lineage.

Such a wondrous place to be with such a view that heals the soul. Why live in a city where it is unnatural and polluted. Everyday in the city is a day away from where we belong. We belong among the greens, forest, mountains and clean air. We belong in such a place and doing our retreats, sadhanas and mantras to find the ultimate place of belonging and peace....the ultimate place is within us with a developed spiritual mind. Hard to achieve among distractions in the city.

When we see others who behave not according to our expectations and just to ‘get them back’ we throw all caution to the wind and we get angry, retaliate, fight back, scream, yell and then quit, it shows our mind. Everything is about our own mind. That is not to say they are not at fault. But if we want the world to act perfectly in our presence and then we don’t get angry, that is SO INCREDIBLE IDEALISTIC AND WE ARE DOOMED FROM THE START in anything we do. We have to keep our equilibrium always. Remember our vows, promises and our own state of mind. Be kind to ourselves and not let the other person throw us off because we have to be in control of our own minds. Remember, our mind and how it reacts is the key.--- H.E Tsem Rinpoche

So this is a general overview of Guhyasamaja. I’ve only hit on some of the high points of it. There’s a lot more in it. So when we think of Guhyasamaja practice, we shouldn’t just think in terms of some set of rituals. It’s important to realize that this is a vast system that, as I said, offers the template for what is going on in general in anuttarayoga tantra practice on the generation stage and complete stage. And it has extraordinary detail on the death, bardo, and rebirth process, how to work with it, how to recognize what’s going on. And then there’s the whole apparatus with we can actually derive the meaning of the tantra from the obscure type of language in which it was written. Read more - http://www.tsemrinpoche.com/?p=87052

HH the Dalai Lama prays with HH Trijang Rinpoche and HH Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. Such a beautiful video of His Holiness Dalai Lama, His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and His Holiness Dilgo Kyentse Rinpoche (Very exalted high Nyingma lama) are all praying together. In the background you see a young Kyabje Lati Rinpoche too. So beautiful. This is how it was before the ban. All the sects and high lamas were superbly harmonious. After the Dorje Shugden ban things changed for the worse. May the ban be released soon. Tsem Rinpoche
