His Holiness the Dalai Lama with my teacher His Eminence Kensur Rinpoche Jampa Yeshe. This was taken in Gaden Monastery, when Kensur Rinpoche introduced me to His Holiness as a newly-recognised tulku. His Holiness accepted Kensur Rinpoche's introduction.

Reincarnated Tulkus (incarnate lamas) of Gaden Monastery will all be introduced to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. At this time, your personal teacher will explain to His Holiness the Dalai Lama who you are the incarnation of, how you were found, when you were enthroned, your parents, birthplace, name and so on. His Holiness the Dalai Lama will accept the offerings from the new Tulku once the introduction is done. When His Holiness accepts the introduction and gifts, this signifies he accepts the Tulku and understands the background as per tradition.

In this picture, the grand abbot Emeritus of Gaden Shartse Monastery which is His Eminence Kensur Rinpoche Jetsun Jampa Yeshe (right) who is the house teacher of Tsem Rinpoche (left) has introduced Tsem Rinpoche officially to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. On this occasion Tsem Rinpoche offered a Vajrapani statue, envelope of a symbolic monetary gift and various other traditional gifts to His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Afterwards this photo was taken to mark the occasion. This auspicious meeting occured in Gaden Monastery in January 11, 1995. His Holiness the Dalai Lama accepted Kensur Rinpoche’s introduction of Tsem Rinpoche and gave his blessings.

To Your Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Jetsun Jamphel Ngawang Lobsang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso Pelsangpo,

With folded hands, I sincerely and humbly request your compassionate attention.

Since the ban against Dorje Shugden practice began and became institutionalized within the Tibetan government in-exile’s charter, many Shugden followers have suffered greatly. We have endured segregation from our own people, are not allowed to attend your talks nor even be in your presence. The children of Shugden-following parents are shunned or expelled from Tibetan schools, while Shugden practitioners and families are cast out of the Tibetan refugee camps in India. We are prohibited from participating in Tibetan businesses, not even as patrons seeking basic provisions and food to feed our families. We face unnecessary difficulties when it comes to obtaining a Tibetan ID card (yellow passport) from your government in-exile, we are not allowed into Tibetan hospitals to receive urgently needed treatment and medicines, and good monks have even been driven out from their monasteries and forced to break sacred oaths they have sworn to uphold for their entire life.

These are just some of our sufferings. There are many others including mental and emotional torture which cannot be enumerated, that Shugden practitioners such as myself have had to endure since 1996, when Your Holiness and the Central Tibetan Administration announced the ban against Dorje Shugden practice. Since that time, many people have voiced their desperate appeal to Your Holiness to lift the ban on Dorje Shugden. It is not democratic or fair; instead, it is inhumane and takes away our basic rights and liberties as individuals. This is the opposite effect to the objective Your Holiness intended when you bestowed upon the Tibetan people the precious gift of democracy which is now unfortunately denied to Shugden people.

We are all Tibetans no matter what religion we practise, no matter which region (choga-sum) we hail from, or where we live today. We all love you and respect you but we have not been able to meet you since 1996 due to the ban and we miss you very much. I know I do. You said that if we continue to practise Dorje Shugden, then we may not attend your spiritual teachings or your secular talks or have any form of communion with you. As you are our leader, may I humbly say that all Tibetans should be allowed to attend your secular talks at the very least, regardless of our individual spiritual orientations. Understandably, due to the issues of spiritual samaya (spiritual bond), we may not attend your spiritual teachings. But surely there is no spiritual bond created or spiritual obligation to observe when a normal citizen of a country attends a secular talk by his leader?

Please, and with deep respect, I implore you not to segregate your Tibetan people further by their religious beliefs. No matter what religion we are, or even if we are atheists, please allow equality within Tibetan society to prevail and not have laws against Shugden practitioners any more. Please do not bar Shugden people from activities that are meant for all Tibetans. All leaders should allow their citizens to attend their talks, no matter their religion, background, race, sexual orientation, gender and so forth. All Tibetans should have the right and privilege to attend secular events with Your Holiness and to enjoy equality within Tibetan society. If there is no ban, as some like to say, I and thousands of other Shugden practitioners like myself would not be appealing to Your Holiness for more than two decades since the ban started.

Some claim that Dorje Shugden people are in collusion with China to create schism within Your Holiness’ circle and between Tibetans in India and Nepal. While that may be true for a small minority, it certainly cannot be true for all Dorje Shugden practitioners in the world, and it is definitely not true for myself. There are many Tibetans who may collude with governments around the world but this has nothing to do with Shugden practice, so please do not include all Shugden people into that group. I have never colluded with anyone to bring harm to Your Holiness, to any Tibetan or to any person. I am a Buddhist monk and I hold my Bodhisattva Vows seriously. I have never spoken negatively against Your Holiness. I have never protested against Your Holiness in public or in private. I have never lost my faith, hope and respect for Your Holiness. I am just waiting for the day that I may be granted the honour to attend Your Holiness’ talks and perhaps Your teachings. In fact, I have always wanted to receive the Kalachakra Tantra from Your Holiness ever since I was 15 years old. From the time of my youth, I have had deep faith in Your Holiness, and I continue to do so.

As Your Holiness knows, Dorje Shugden has been practised for over 400 years. It was first practised in the Sakya tradition. The Gelugpas then received it from the sacred Sakya lineage. We have been practising Dorje Shugden since it was passed to us by our gurus as a spiritual commitment and for no other reasons. I practise Dorje Shugden as it was passed to me by my root teacher His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche and it was his instruction for me to practise. I keep up the practice of Dorje Shugden as my commitment to my root guru. If I give up my practice, then I break my commitment to my root guru. But if I continue to uphold my commitment to my root teacher then, by an unfortunate default, I am displeasing Your Holiness, it seems. I do not wish to displease Your Holiness but I must continue with my practice, as must tens of thousands of others, because it was commanded by our root gurus. We cannot break the spiritual commitments and promises we made to our root gurus. Your Holiness will be well aware of this sacred rule.

I am not practising Dorje Shugden to collude with China, and I will never practise Dorje Shugden or share his practice with others for any reason except spiritual ones. There may be philosophical debates as to whether Dorje Shugden is an enlightened being or a reliable object to depend on, but that should not affect Your Holiness’ decision to give us the freedom to practise our faith without discrimination, segregation and bias.

Some would like to say there is no ban against Dorje Shugden but Your Holiness’ words are very powerful. When Your Holiness, on many occasions, vigorously told people to choose between Yourself or Dorje Shugden, it had great impact and it forced people to choose. Naturally, those who choose Dorje Shugden are scorned, hated and maligned, and labeled as being your enemy, which is not true. For the last 20 years, Your Holiness has on many occasions and in many places told people that they should abandon the practice of Dorje Shugden. If they do not, then they cannot attend any of your discourses, whether spiritual or secular, which is very damaging. Because your word is law within the Tibetan communities. You don’t have to strictly and obviously say it is a ban, but you expressing your displeasure is as good as a ban. For those who choose to continue, we are segregated and humiliated for our religious choice and it should not be that way in a democracy. Your words are very powerful within Tibetan communities. A word of displeasure from you is as good as a ban. It may not be so with Western leaders, but this is how it is in our Tibetan society as Your Holiness is well aware of.

I have been attacked on social media for practising Dorje Shugden. Hundreds of innocent monks have been expelled from monasteries because of this issue. In 2009, even Al Jazeera, a renowned global media agency investigated and concluded that Dorje Shugden people are suffering in India, Nepal and all over the world. Al Jazeera highlighted this clearly in their news report. In this day and age, no one should be criticized or attacked on the basis of their religion. May I respectfully say, no leader whether spiritual or secular should discourage or criticize any religion or spiritual path because it divides people. All leaders should accept all people in the spirit of democracy, equality and fairness, and transcend differences in religion, race, gender, and so on. We need this type of democracy within the Tibetan communities of India. We need unity, harmony and tolerance in our small world which is already riddled with strife and many other harmful issues. Please allow all your people to practise or not practise whatever religion they like without being segregated.

We know you are doing your best for the Tibetan people and sometimes your decisions to benefit one group may hurt another unknowingly. The ban and segregation against Dorje Shugden people is hurting a sector of Tibetans including myself very much. Please understand this.

The world has changed dramatically and we have even seen the leaders of North and South Korea meet to mend their relationship. This happened just a couple of days ago, on April 27, 2018. No one could have imagined this happening in the past. This is big news for the Korean people of both the North and the South. I very much wish that they become friends again. Similarly, I am sure we can re-unify with you, if I may say so. North and South Korea have had massive hurdles to overcome for this historic meeting and I do not think the differences between Your Holiness and the Dorje Shugden followers are as big and therefore we can come together as one again.

We also see that, after decades of tense relations between India and China, His Excellency the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, and His Excellency the President of China, Xi Jinping, are en route to mending their differences. Cold war, disharmony, mistrust and so on does not serve anyone well. For China and India to mend fences will take time. Previously, it was doubtful as to how this could come about, but it is happening. As China and India become friends, this will affect the world positively. News of people with differences coming together is definitely possible and has even become a matter of necessity. If such great leaders can mend ties after such huge differences with their magnanimous thinking, surely in your heart, you can see a clear way to transcend the differences that separate you and Dorje Shugden and mend fences with all his practitioners. We wish to re-unify with you. Please unite your people regardless of their spiritual orientation.

As recently as April 25, 2018, Your Holiness has indirectly acknowledged and recognised the China-backed Panchen Lama by saying that high lamas can have many simultaneous incarnations, citing Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo as an example. Your Holiness implied that there can be two Panchen Lamas and I understood the message which was subtle yet clear and profound. The Panchen Lama that Your Holiness recognised and the other Panchen Lama that China recognised can both be genuine incarnations of the holy 10th Panchen Lama. This is amazing news and it is Your Holiness’ great effort to reach out to mend fences with China. I was happy to hear your indirect recognition of the Chinese Panchen Lama as this may begin to create the necessary atmosphere for restorative dialogue between Your Holiness and China for the sake of all Tibetan people. Perhaps this may lead to your return to Tibet and China, to be in the Potala Palace as Your Holiness’ dream portends. I wish this for Your Holiness because You wish it to be so. I would like this to happen very much, as I know Your Holiness misses Tibet just as the Tibetan people, Shugden and non-Shugden practitioners alike, miss you very much.

Therefore, with folded hands and on bended knees, I request Your Holiness to remove all stigma, negative statements and negative references to Dorje Shugden from all official platforms and literature of the Central Tibetan Administration enshrined in Dharamsala in order that an end to the ban on Dorje Shugden may come about. I appeal to Your Holiness with utmost humility to unite all Tibetans regardless of their religious orientation. Please do not make us choose between Your Holiness and Dorje Shugden. We do not wish to choose and to be forced to lose one or the other. We should not be made to choose in a genuine democracy. Many of the old monks from Gaden Monastery died with a broken heart because they did not want to choose between Your Holiness and Dorje Shugden and we have observed this. For centuries, many generations within the Gelug lineage loved and worshipped both the Dalai Lamas and Dorje Shugden. We sincerely wish for it to continue this way. It is in your power to unify us again.

Please do something about this while there is still time. Please be our leader no matter what religion we practise. Please allow us to see you again and bask in the golden blessings of Yourself, our Yeshe Norbu (wish-fulfilling gem). Since so many world-changing events are occurring, I appeal to You with my body fully prostrated, to lift the ban against Dorje Shugden and remove all stigma against Dorje Shugden practitioners. To eradicate the negative books, recorded talks and information in your various official websites against Dorje Shugden and his followers. This would suit a democratic leader and government.

You are the extremely compassionate, glorious avatar of Avalokiteshvara. In Your wisdom and ocean-like compassion, please unite Your people. Please unite all of us no matter what religion we practise. I appeal to Your Holiness from the deepest part of my very being and request You not to be upset with my writing this letter as I do not wish to disturb Your holy mind. But you are the only person I can appeal to in this urgent matter.

Most humbly,

With folded hands,

An Open Letter of Appeal to His Holiness the Dalai Lama (April 30, 2018)

Addendum

On May 5, 2018 the international media agency Reuters published an article about my prayers for reconciliation in Asia. In the article they spoke of my wish for there to be harmony and peace within Asia and indeed throughout the whole world, and especially within the Tibetan community. This is what I have spoken about in my letter of appeal above.

It is very touching to read a letter from a renowned monk to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, begging for unity and the lifting of an unlawful ban on Dorje Shugden people. His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche is humble and compassion. His plea is for / on behalf of all Dorje Shugden people; because this group of people have been suffering unjustly for the past 2 decades for reason as simply as practicing their choice of faith. May His Holiness receives the letter and initiate dialog / correspondence with Tsem Rinpoche to end this horrible ban that causes suffering on Dorje Shugden people. Thank you for this sharing.

Our Guru Tsem Rinpoche have been working tirelessly appealing to His Holiness the Dalai Lama requesting to solve the controversy ban on Dorje Shugden. Having done all with memes ,thoughts and so forth and now writing a very beautiful powerful letter to HH Dalai Lama to get across. Due to Rinpoche ‘s love and compassion , Rinpoche wrote this open letter as Rinpoche shared the plight of those who has suffered. The unnecessary and illogical ban has cause nothing but pain, suffering , sorrow , disharmony to both practitioners , non practitioner around the world especially the Tibetans. Spirituality is never about violence and hurting others. Spirituality is about love, tolerance and acceptance and this ban should stop for the sake of unity and peace . His Holiness the Dalai Lama please lift the ban of Dorje Shugden to have peace and harmony for all Tibetan people and those practicing world wide.
Time has changed for the better as we can see all world leaders are coming together to amend their relationship which been stand off for many years.
Thank you Rinpoche for this beautiful written open letter to HH Dalai Lama.

For many years Shugden practitioners are suppressed and segregated by people. This does not only happen among the Tibetan community. It affects all Shugden practitioners regardless of nationalities. I have people who stop befriending me when they know I practice DS. I have not committed any crimes, I did not hurt anyone, but I was segregated just because of my belief. Being a DS practitioners does not mean I am against His Holiness, does not mean I am against whatever causes the Tibetans might have. Stop accusing DS practitioners for the crimes we have not committed.

We are in 2018 now, this has to stop. It is more important how a person behave than what they believe in.

Thank you Rinpoche for continuously appealing to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and request to lift the ban of Dorje Shugden for removing all the suffering and pain endured by many Dorje Shugden practitioners worldwide. The ban of Dorje Shugden has caused many Shugden practitioners including non-Tibetans to withstand the pressure of being attacked in social media, being segregated for not following the direction given by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and other types of discrimination inclusive of being labelled as spirit worshippers due to the falsely claim made by Central Tibetan Administration which concludes that Dorje Shugden is a spirit.

When Dorje Shugden practitioners practise sincerely in Buddhadharma and practising not to hurt anyone unintentionally, not to cause any suffering to others and cultivate peace with harmony among the people around, it is truly unfair to label Dorje Shugden practitioners as spirit worshippers. Dorje Shugden practitioners are no different from other Buddhists and everyone including Dorje Shugden practitioners should deserve to attend all the public talks given by ever compassionate Holiness the Dalai Lama with equal respect and blessing. Since Dorje Shugden practice is being introduced to people from around the world including USA, Europe and many Asian countries, many practitioners have progressed in Buddhadharma practice and some have even determined to become monks and nuns as Dorje Shugden is the emanation of Manjushri, who is the Buddha of Wisdom. This is a clear evidence to show us that Dorje Shugden practitioners will not fall into the three lower realms but able to progress in Buddhadharma practice in current lifetime.

May the all compassionate and respected His Holiness the Dalai Lama lift the ban of Dorje Shugden and allow for the Buddhadharma to grow further, reaching to more people who have yet to meet with Dharma Protector, learn and practice Buddhadharma.

    Thank you with folded hands,
    kin hoe

Situation and things changes overtime. In the recent development we see both North and South Korea leaders met to mend the relationships. Then the India Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and His Excellency the President of China, Xi Jinping met and became friends despite the long cold relationship between the 2 countries. Nothing is permanent in this world and thing can change to bring better benefit to all.

We very much hope HH Dalai Lama will do the same too to resolve the Dorje Shugden ban. It has bring a lot of suffering to the practitioners. No one should be discriminated and segregated due to their belief as this is basic human rights. With HH Dalai Lama powerful words and respected position, we hope HH Dalai Lama will help unite the people and Dorje Shugden practitioners can be given opportunities to listen to HH Dalai Lama’s talk and teaching.

Thank you Rinpoche for writing the appeal letter to HH Dalai Lama in order to clear the Dorje Shugden ban and issue.

Times have changed so much with the latest news about the Indian Prime Minister Modi meeting the Chinese President Xi to overcome a long time of tension between their people as well as the leaders of North and South Koreas meeting and shaking hands is good news for the world.

I believe that this could help Dorje Shugden practitioners who have had a very difficult time over the past twenty years. Time has shown that Dorje Shugden is not harmful in any way and therefore the ban and suppression of this Dharma Protector needs to be ended to create harmony within Tibetan communities and those close to Tibetans all over the world. There are many Dorje Shugden practitioners all over the world and it is painful to be not accepted to the Dalai Lama’s teachings as I myself would also like to hear H.H. the Dalai Lama’s teachings.

Huge differences have been overcome in time such as the latest developments for India and China as well as North and South Korea. I believe that our religion is more precious compared to politics and that the ban should be removed so that everyone has equal opportunities and can follow their religious choice without fear and need to be scared of the repercussions for their religious choice.

Personally, I want to support this letter of appeal to His Holiness the Dalai Lama to end the ban on the Dorje Shugden practice and encourage peace and harmony between all Tibetan people as well as Tibetan Buddhist practitioners.

    Thank you,
    Pastor Antoinette Kass

The article about Walter Evans-Wentz is an interesting read. His greatest work, the Tibetan Book of the Dead, which he collaborated with Lama Kazi Dawa Samdup, had been an acclaimed publication and important book on Tibetan Buddhism in the west for decades. The Tibetan Book of the Dead is based on the sacred text called Bardo Thodol, a teaching given Padmasambhava and written down by his Tibetan consort and student, Yeshe Tsogyal. The text is “meant to be a guide for the deceased person to navigate through the experiences of the consciousness in the bardo, or the intermediate state between death and the next rebirth. This text also includes chapters on the death process and a ritual to be performed just before death and after it has taken place.” It is a pity that the translation of this important book from Tibetan to English capped by Walter’s limited understanding of the concept and influenced by his prior knowledge in Theosophy and other metaphysical schools. Thank you for this sharing, Pastor David.

The freedom to choose a religion without interference from one another. We have our rights to choose what we like to pray and beliefs. All religions, cultures, and beliefs deserve the same amount of respect, even if they are different from your own. All teachings must have a lineage, once we understand and have accepted it we go all the way. May the Dorje Shugden controversy be resolved soon.
Thank you Rinpoche for sharing this clear insight article and those beautiful and rare pictures of great Masters.

Buddhism teaches us love, compassion ,tolerance, forgiveness , and so forth. Once we have choose our guru, then we should go all the way out on the spiritual side.. We should not criticise or make negative comments if we decided not to follow a Guru. What ever ,happen never ,never ever bad mouth one another , just let go and let it be. Its always a case how much or great we do ,there is always people saying some thing when they are not satisfied but when we are spiritual we will think twice .As it stated clearly in Fifty Verses Of Guru Devotion, no matter how much we practice, study and meditate we will gain no attainments without purifying our karma.
We are fortunate to have met our Guru H.E the 25th Tsem Rinpoche and guiding us and learning the Dharma teachings .
May Rinpoche live long ,good health and continue turning the Dharma wheel to benefit all sentient beings.

Dorje Shugden been practiced for 300 years by many great masters not until the ban instituted by the Tibetan Leadership (CTA.) Only now ,suddenly that Dorje Shugden is negative, harmful and will hurt HH Dalai Lama. Ridiculous ….to say that for four hundred years so many great lamas and practitioners were wrong in their practice. If Dalai Lama says all his Gurus were wrong, what make Dalai Lama right? HH Dalai Lama, has previously practiced Dorje Shugden and even wrote a praise to Dorje Shugden. How can it possible Dorje Shugden could have harmed him.
Our Guru Rinpoche has this practice bestowed by his root guru who practiced for his whole life. The ban of Dorje Shugden is illogical and should be lifted for the harmonious o the people. The Tibetan Leadership (CTA) has instituted this ban against Dorje Shugden for the last 20 years. Many families are torn apart and lamas ,monks and practitioners had to break away from their monasteries. Many has suffered discrimination and segregation due to that. The Tibetan leaders should have a peaceful dialogue to resolve this issue once for all. May HH Dalai Lama please lift the ban.
Thanks Rinpoche and Pastor David Lai for such an informative article for us to understand more on Dorje Shugden’s ban.

Every human is unique in their own way. It’s an interesting article to learn about human behaviour and how our mind function. Psychopath is apparently inherent brain. If so I wonder can drugs help them? While psychopath can be good or evil then how can we help those who are evil? I believe we some how we inherited certain behaviour from our previous imprint and therefore portraying it in this life. I guess it about understanding ourselves better, accept and keep transforming to be better.

Li Gotami is an extraordinary woman with incredible talents. She documented Tibet and Buddhism at the time and space where it remained out of reach to the world at large. Her work left us with valuable books, art and photographs. It was the same period of time when acclaimed contributors to Tibetan Buddhism, like Lama Anagarika, Walter Evans-Went, John Blofeld actively unveiled Tibet from a religion and cultural perspective. Thank you for this informative sharing.

Is very heart breaking to read about the way the practitioners been treated and sufferings felt by the Tibetan people who lack religious freedom to practise how and what they want. The unfairness, discrimination and so forth since the ban on Dorje Shugden instituted by the Tibetan Leadership (CTA). Despite there is enough evidence showing that there is a ban on Dorje Shugden practice yet many supporters of the Tibetan leadership continue to insist that there is no ban. If there is no ban, why is H.H Dalai Lama imposing rules on Dorje Shugden’s practitioners. Dorje Shugden practitioners are denied medical care, education, services, employment and so forth. Its really sad, they have suffered for too many years, the ban should end for the better furture.
May H.H. the Dalai Lama please lift the ban on Dorje Shugden.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Interesting description of a great Master……….Lama Yeshe by his student Champa Legshe. Lama Yeshe received the teachings of both sutra and tantra from a long line of erudite masters such as Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, Kyabje Ling Rinpoche to name a few. Through his establishment of Kopan Monastery, in Kathmandu, he started spreading Buddhism among the westerners. Described by his student as humble, down to earth caring and loving teacher, friendly and many goodness of a highly respected attained Lama for his different approach and modern interpretation of Buddhism. From what I understand after reading Champa Legshe description , Lama Yeshe is definitely a great teacher . And Rinpoche has all the qualities and characteristics as Lama Yeshe … caring, loving, jovial, good- humoured, way of teaching Dharma to his students.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

The ban on Dorje Shugden practitioners are so apparent in those places. And how can the CTA said there is no ban and discrimination? They are creating so much fear among the people which we can clearly see in the videos. Question is being a committed government, they should take care of the welfare of everyone regardless of their belief, race and colours. There should be no discrimination and segregation among the communities. I hope the ban will be lifted and the people in “Little Tibet” can regain their basic human rights that is freedom of religion very soon.

Great news for Tibet befriending China. Time has changed and finally the Tibetans leadership has made the right choice to amend ties between the two countries. China has transformed itself becoming the largest economy in the world in no time. The world economy is rapidly changing, China’s economy will become more significant and will surpass America soon. Many countries in the world is making friend with China. With this meeting Tibet and China’s friendship in long term will benefits both sides. In time may HH Dalai Lama have dialogue with China to solved the controversy on the Dorje Shugden ban for the benefits of the people . Dorje Shugden has nothing to do with China. Because of the Tibetan Leadership political agenda, many has suffered and divided. Its more than a year since the workshops ,nothing has improved. Do hope both countries friendship will continue to pave way for more meetings. May HH Dalai Lama then solve the long controversy.
Thank you Rinpoche for this sharing.

Even though it’s a old post, which I came across , still it’s a wonderful moment many had invited home this beautiful Setrap statues. Dharmapala Setrap is the enmanation of buddha Amithaba and highly enlightened beings. For 600 years hundreds of thousands of great masters, lamas and practitioners have since relied on Setrap as their principle protector. Rejoice to those who have invited one as family protector.

Our faith and religion is our choice. We choose what we want to practice . That’s our choice. We should respect each other choice and should not be biased, segregate, discriminate or hurt any one of a different faith to have a better environment to live in. Those who believe in Dorje Shugden should be treated equally and respected as others too. Politics is politics and has nothing to do with religion. Once mixed it s become harmful to another and used by another for political agenda. Tibetan leadership(CTA) should stopped contradicting itself and discriminating based on faith, for the benefit of Tibetan people. The ban instituted by the Tibetan Leadership (CTA) has created disharmony and disunity among their communities. There are more than enough evidence to prove that there is no religious freedom or true democracy and discrimination against Shugden people within. May the ban on Dorje Shugden be lifted soon and they have the freedom and rights to practice freely.

The Tibetans in exile….. after leaving Tibet does not seem to improve much all these years in India. Since the establishment of the Tibetan leardership nothing was done for the welfare of the Tibetan people. The situation now is still the same as before. More and more Tibetans are speaking up and moving out or back to look for better jobs opportunities else where. The Tibetan Leadership has caused Shugden practitioners much suffering and hardship ,all these years . It is heartfelt to see situation like these, the Tibetans are being torn apart and divided . Even after 50 years, there is nothing that has changed and the CTA did not amend the ties between the CTA and China. Time has changed for the better everywhere, the CTA must change. Thank you Tibet Lover for your comment, hopefully more people will speak up against the wrong-doings done by CTA . May the Tibetans living in exiles have a peaceful and happy solution solved someday. May the ban on Dorje Shugden be lifted soon

All religions emphasis love, compassion and peace. If there are violence imposed, I believe it most probably are the wrong view of the practitioners. Hence it is NOT right to impose violence in the name of moral principle. Having the right understanding is very important to mold a peaceful and harmony world. For a start we as individual have to understand, accept and practise it in our daily life. No point talking and not putting it into action.

The Unknown

The Known and unknown are both feared,
Known is being comfortable and stagnant,
The unknown may be growth and opportunities,
One shall never know if one fears the unknown more than the known.
Who says the unknown would be worse than the known?
But then again, the unknown is sometimes worse than the known. In the end nothing is known unless we endeavour,
So go pursue all the way with the unknown,
because all unknown with familiarity becomes the known.

Environment is stronger because when you are in a spiritual environment with other spiritual brothers and sisters, the chance to learn and transform is much higher. If we rely on our own willpower and go at it alone to practice spirituality, very small chance we can succeed. Because most of the time we don\'t have the willpower and our willpower does not sustain us. That is why we have monasteries where clusers of people live together spiritually to enhance each other and the whole for thousands of years. That is why we have spiritual communities like Findhorn and Kechara Forest Retreat so that we are in a spiritual environment and being in this type of environment encourages us to grow inwardly. It gives us strength and support and in turn we give others strength and support. Tsem Rinpoche

Daily do your prayers/mantra to Lord Manjushri as it\'s a powerful blessing on a daily basis. It is so important to have sharp mind, good memory and quick wisdom and Manjushri can bestow this. I have heard many tell me that Manjushri\'s practice is very effective. We must also do Manjushri\'s intensive retreats at least twice a year. It would be very beneficial. A beautiful painting of the enlightened protector Dorje Shugden in the very rich tradition of Aztec art of South America. I wanted to commission something in this rich tradition which is filled with spiritual journeys into other worlds, magic, purification, the supernatural, astral visitations, gods and other dimensions and it has manifested. I have successfully combined the divinity of Tibet with the rich artistic tradition of the Aztecs. The artist we had is amazing. Comic drawn by Tendor, a prominent Free Tibet activist-Every Tibetan knows that although His Holiness the Dalai Lama says he is retired from politics, he is in full control of the Tibetan government in exile. No member of the government will dare carry out any decisions without His Holiness\' approval. He is retired for the sake of the west so he does not look like a dictator.~Tenzin Damchoe

It would be wonderful if everyone can recite these two mantras 100k each focusing on Shakyamuni Buddha and His powerful healing energies. Not collectively but each person 100k each of each mantra. Praise to Shakyamuni the Sage who showed us a permanent way to bliss.

Here, His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche (left), one of the tutors of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, confers one of the many countless tantric initiations on the Dalai Lama (right). You can see a young Dalai Lama bowing in this picture with Trijang Rinpoche blessing him. Trijang Rinpoche is therefore undoubtedly the Dalai Lama’s tantric master. A great master at that. In the Lankavatara Sutra, Lord Buddha says: \"For innumerable reasons, the Bodhisattva, whose nature is compassion, is not to any meat. Thus Mahamati, whenever there is the evolution of living beings, let people cherish the thought of kinship with them, and thinking that all beings are [to be loved as if they were] and only child, let them refrain from eating meat. Mahamati, meat is not eaten by anybody for any reason, there will be no destroyer of life. Thus, Mahamati, meat-eating I have not permitted to anyone, I do not permit, I will not permit.\"

At times I have to be a trendsetter in spirituality as opposed to just being a follower and that is why I take chances and try. I may not be liked always for it, but I have to do it. In this way I have been introducing Dorje Shugden to the world. I know Shugden is good and will help so many and that is why I do it.

Courage is doing something you know the majority will not agree with and perhaps even some will scorn you for it, but you do it anyway because you know it\'s right and will benefit people at the cost of your own reputation. That\'s how I feel when I share Dorje Shugden\'s practice with the world.

This is so good. I need to remember this and not allow people to do this to me anymore. Being kind is one thing, but when they are doing it and it harms, it is not a matter of kindness anymore but taking advantage.

Dear friends, The Dorje Shugden oracle of Gaden Shartse Monastery was authorized and blessed by both Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche and Kyabje Zong Rinpoche. He was a favorite among high lamas for his smooth trances and clear prophecies. This video is a one-of-a-kind where you see the Choyang Dulzin Kuten oracle take trance of the peaceful form of Dorje Shugden wearing the robes of a high lama giving teachings, blessings and transmissions. Super neat footage of Patty the Bigfoot!
In 1967, Bob Gimlin and Roger Patterson stumbled across an incredible sight whilst out in Bluff Creek, in the California wilderness. At a creek which had been freshly washed-out by recent floods, they witnessed a female Bigfoot swiftly traverse the rugged landscape. Since their filmed encounter with the Bigfoot, who has since been nicknamed Patty, many have disputed the authenticity of their recording but no one has been able to successfully prove that it is a fake. Credits for this video goes to entirely to windvale for the original footage.

The children and their little well-wishing voices are adorable!! It is a must listen. They recite prayers to Dorje Shugden to invoke blessings for everyone for the New Year 2018! At one point, they sprinkle some of the drink into the air as per tradition as an offering to Dorje Shugden. Shugden's practice in Tibet has been strong for four hundred years and is continuing to grow. Happy New Year (Losar) to everyone. May everyone have peace. Sarva Mangalam!

What the meat industry figured out is that you don't need healthy animals to make a profit.
Sick animals are more profitable... farms calculate how close to death they can keep animals without killing them. That's the business model. How quickly they can be made to grow, how tightly they can be packed, how much or how little can they eat, how sick they can get without dying... We live in a world in which it's conventional to treat an animal like a block of wood. ~ Jonathan Safran Foer

These are the heartbreaking scenes we see over and over again, that we share in the hopes of telling the stories of those who otherwise would have suffered and vanished from this earth without a trace. This is Norma Jean. Free for a little over five months, she knew more happiness than millions of her sisters ever will. But she couldn’t escape the fate genetically programmed into her as an egg producing machine. She seemed more lethargic than usual this morning, so we brought her inside to administer fluids and antibiotics in the hopes of pulling her through until we could get her in to see our vet. She couldn’t hang on. She died this evening shortly after this video was taken, severely infected from the rotting egg yolk adhered to various organs throughout her abdominal cavity. Like virtually every single one of her sisters, caged or free range, rescued or not, she paid the ultimate price for eggs (from FB)
